Just wanted to make a quick post. I've been reading your posts, I just have not been in a talkative mood, but I'm still hangin' in there. I'm down 5 lbs. since I last reported. I can't claim it's from hard exercise because I've only did one workout since last Thurs., but I am still logging my food everyday and staying below my alloted calories, and drinking plenty of water! :D I should be getting back to routine come next week.

Robsia, please don't feel bad... what you had to say was perfect

Thanks to everyone for the support and congrats to everyone with losses. Keep up the good work!

:grouphug:

Happy Thursday!

Good morning chickies!

Hope ya'll are well today. Having a pretty good morning myself. Feeling great because outside it's starting to resemble spring!! Amazing how a thing like the weather can play into your mood. I just wanna go somewhere! I told my husband I got the fever for travel today. I want to got to Edmonton and shop! Well also take my little girl to the waterpark and amusement rides. Oohhh how I wish!

Anyways...

Jelynn, you should post your pics and let us be the judge! :) You are doing so well. You're the treadmill queen! I'm amazed at how you're able to run so long! Hope things start feeling a little more controlled for you today. If not, don't worry, it will come. Just keep trucking away girl!

Cassie, good grief, your poor little baby boy! There's nothing worse than watch your sick baby. Have you tried giving him pedialyte? He may get dehydrated with all that throwing up and runs. Good job with keeping up with your exercising. Remember it takes time for your body to adjust to your new habits. It's an amazing stabilizer. Don't worry about the extra add on's because they will surely drop off soon. Keep doing what your doing and you will get results! Hang on girl!

Garnet, gee that shoulder is taking it's time getting better eh? I hope it turns the corner real fast for you. Good luck on your weigh in if you get to the gym today.

Lois, nice to see you! Congrats on the five pounds. That's really amazing. No doubt it has something to do with all the stress you've had this past week. How are you and your family dealing? It's got to be so tough, I'm still praying for you girl. We'll be here waiting for you. Take care of yourself. *HUGS*

Have a great day ladies! Stay strong and be powerful!
TTFN!

~Tina

Wow . . . did it ever get busy in here today . . . just a few hours later than my normal check in time and I'm pages behind. I can't promise I'm going to remember to mention everyone but please be assured that it's not because I don't love each and every one of you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Liza. Do you feel any older? :hb:

Don't worry, Java. It's definitely not you. Sometimes people just drift away for a bit and then they come wandering back. We just seemed to misplace a bunch all at once. ;)

Speaking of the wandering ones . . . :welcome2: back . . . Emily, Cassie, Lois, Robsia . . . we miss you when you go missing. As for you, Miss 'BaggyPants', wow, you are looking good. So sorry to hear the little one is sick, Cassie.

Another dull and relatively cold day here in Nova Scotia. I think the weather was milder in January. Please send some of that Spring eastward, Tina.

My WATP and Yoga DVDs came today. Now all I have to do is get them into the machine and do something with them. :D I really need all the motivation I can get from all of the exercising demons out there (Garnet, Teahoney, and bunches of others). I have to get over the fact that I hate to sweat and I also hate to hurt my ankles and knees. Of course, I also don't want to waste all this money by just sitting and looking at the cases. :?:

Have a great day everybody. Keep on moving and shaking and doing all the other good stuff. Talk to you again soon. :carrot:

garnetfairy 03-23-2006 08:55 PM

Lois - glad to see you are still with us. CONGRATULATIONS ON LOSING 5 POUNDS that is great!!

i hope your world calms back down and gets closer to normal soon. I know it is so hard when you lose someone under any circumstances but when it is abrubt with no notice at all it is really hard to deal with and so young. Hang in there!

Tina - thank you. Nope have not made it to the gym yet. Son forgot about me and parents are across town picking up a "new" car. That has been what they have been sneaking off to work on all week. Why it had to be a secret is beyond me. I wont be allowed to drive it so what's the big deal???

Anyway I did two exercise videos today to make up for the gym.

Shoulder is better today but still restricting my range of movement especially of my neck. I think it gets worse or better depending on how I sleep on it at night. I have a deformed vertebra in my neck and I am afraid it is out of alignment or something. I just dont know. But I hate going to doctors so much...I would much rather just live with the pain and complain...ha ha at least I have some flexeril to take and that helps some.

I hope you get to go to Edmonton soon!

meowee - one thing I do when I get a new exercise video is I sit down and watch it without doing the work at all. Just to see what is expected and all of that so I can tell if it is one I am ready for now or one to save for later when I am in better shape. Then when I do the video for real, I have an idea of what will be expected of me.

Keep up the good work everybody and if you fell off track pick yourself up and dust off and jump back on...or step back on...just keep on keeping on and staying in touch with us.!

Sorry I haven't posted for a few days. My dh has been in ICU since Tuesday with pneumonia. He had to have an emergency tracheotomy and is on a ventilator. This week has been really tough. I'll post again when I can.

AndrewsMum 03-24-2006 08:05 AM

oh tricia, your poor dh. keep us posted on how he's doing.

thanks for the birthday wishes and pms! took the day off and totally blew the diet lol. no exercise at all. mcds for lunch, cheese quarter pounder chips diet coke and mc flurry. dinner wos bbq chicken pizza and half a tub of ben&jerrys cookie dough (tho that wos good really cos i could easily finish off a whole tub of the stuff! yumyum!) oh and a chocolate donut wiv a cuppa tea for snack. felt so heavy and bloated this morning lol. havnt had time to workout yet today but will get my 2miles in this evening, prefer to do it in the morning but was rushing out today. i think its helping me have an exercise target to beat now.

meowee, i also hate sweat! hate summer and being all hot and sweaty all the time, hate working out and getting sweaty, hate when im out anywhere getting sweaty after walking for just a few minutes, hate being so unfit and overweight that right after showering just getting dressed is so much effort that im sweaty again.

garnet, hope your shoulder feels better soon, not a fan of doctors either...why do they blame anything that wrong with us on our weight? yeah i know being overweight causes health problems but its not the cause of every little thing and losing weight is not gonna cure everything!

Tina, amusements and water park sounds fun. i would love to be thin enough to fit on the rides with my son. i always feel bad when they say he's too little to go on some of the rides without an adult, theres no way i could go on them...either would break it or wouldnt fit and how embarrassing would that be!!

Sadness

I'm embarrassed to be feeling so low about a basketball game, but my Sweet Sixteen Mountaineers lost the game on a last second (less than a second) 3 pointer by Texas last night. I actually wept! How pathetic is THAT? :bb: They actually came back from a fourteen point deficit at half time to tie and lead and then crash and burn. The game was blacked out on line, but I did manage to SEE the last two minutes on my TV here at home when I got in at midnight. :(

The 100 miles in 100 days challenge only allows 12 miles a week, so that was ANOTHER disappointment this week. Well, I slept in and I'm already running late on my day. But I work alone tonight (ahhhhh :beach: ) and I'll have plenty time for personals. So I'll see you ALL from work. Hang in there. I can already SMELL the week end!

Sad (and pathetic) Java Turtle

Hello gang . . . the sun keeps going in and out today . . . but even the stingy little glimpses make me feel better. At least the snow from a couple of days ago has melted again.

Thanks for the advice, Garnet. Believe it or not that's exactly what I tried to do. After watching the WATP, I decided "I can do that" and immediately twisted my right knee funny on the warm-up and I can hardly move it today. So my "I can do that" will now have to wait a day or two. :p There was nothing about the tape that caused it, just my funny trick joints.

Oh, Patty . . . so sorry for your troubles. Hope he'll be better really soon.

Liza . . . Glad to know there's another 'sweat-hater' out there. It seems so many people are talking about how good it feels. :dizzy: You and I are the type that just have to keep pushing ourselves to do it because it is good for us even if we don't like it. I live in hope that I will someday like exercise . . . but I doubt it. :^:

Well, Java, I personally don't understand it (not a sports fan) but I very strongly believe in your right to be upset about anything that really matters to you. I'm sure I get upset about stuff you wouldn't understand. We are all different and that's what makes life so much fun. I hope you'll be feeling better soon.

Have a good day, folks. Keep moving in the right direction. :carrot:

LadyLai 03-24-2006 09:30 PM

Linda, hahaha you know when I first started this "journey" to lose weight I thought that when I bought stuff (equipment, shoes, etc.) that I should have already dropped a pound by having them in my posession! Too bad you have to actually use them heh!? Sorry to hear about your knee, take it easy girl!

Garnet, keep hanging in there (just not by that one arm! LOL)

Tricia, you have had a terrible week. Don't worry about apologizing. I hope your DH gets better real soon. My thoughts are with you!

Liza, sounds like you had a good birthday. The best part is you're not beating yourself up about your choices. (sorry, just remembering from a few weeks ago) You have the right attitude now girl!

Java, you would definitely fit in with a lot of males in my family! LOL Personally I don't watch any sports (can't get into them at all), but I think it's great if that's what you love. Hope you feel better soon!

Not much new in my life, still hanging on, still exercising and STILL watching the scale report the same weight day after day. Oh well, I'm going to blame on AF who should be showing up in the next week. Afterall that article I posted said we retain water before she comes. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Have a great night y'all!
Talk later!

~Tina

Oops

Guess I must have lied. I DON'T have all the free time in the world tonight to post. Someone forgot to mention all the extra DUI patrols we have :drill: out tonight and it's been HOPPING :jig: in here. At least it makes the night go much faster. I will try with all my might to check in either tonight or tomorrow.

Busy Java Turtle

garnetfairy 03-24-2006 11:14 PM

Oh tricia so sorry to hear about your DH, will keep him in my thoughts.

Liza - thanks for the well wishes. I think they go for the obvious stuff first do you drink do you smoke are you obese when you see the doctor. Anything more requires effort and competence.

oh meowee - you poor dear. What are we going to do with you? You are going to have to call a meeting and get your body parts together and sort out this whole exercise thing and get some cooperation going there. Trick joints...ornery that's what they are ornery and divisive.

Yeah java what meowee said. I hate sports but I hate that you are dissappointed with yours too. feel better soon.

Tina - I read a book recently that said you gain weight right before you lose fat. Something to do with fluids in the tissues and stuff I wish I could remember which book it was. Ive been reading so many diet and fitness books and magazines this year.

Well I finally made it to the gym today and did a good hour's workout on the cardio machines. 30 treadmill 15 elliptical and 15 bicycle. I weighed in and have lost another 5 pounds BUT went nuts tonight when we went out to eat. I had fish which was fine but I had two sopapillas with honey and an assortment of 4 cookies from the Nestle Tollhouse shop which I had no reason to go into except self sabotage. Anyway, so I hope I dont find the 5 I lost. Back on program as of now! Will be working out this weekend somehow, videos or gym or both.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good Morning Ladies,

Liza...Happy belated Birthday to you!!! :hb: :woo: :gift: Sounds like you really celebrated. Had your :burger: and ice cream too! Good for you! We all need to take a day once in awhile and celebrate.

Tricia...I'm so sorry to hear your husband is sick. Hope he feels better real soon. I'll keep you both in my prayers.

Lois...Glad to see you back and with a 5 pound loss. All that stress you were under just melted that fat off. I hope you and your family find peace as the days go by, just know that we are hear for you.

Linda...I hate sweat as well!!! I always say I can't wait for summer to get here, but then I complain about the humidity. Even doing housework in the summer, and I'm sweating like a pig. Liza hit the nail on the head, and described me perfectly. I even sweat drying off after taking a shower!!:yikes:

Well ladies, I've been pretty busy the last couple of days driving my foster daughter to appointments. Exercise has been cleaning my house before the cobwebs take up permenent residence. They have a sign out saying Guest Welcomed! I'll come back later on today and post some more personals, but I'm heading up to my room to work on my quilt. Later on this afternoon, I'm taking my foster daughter to the movies.

Cheryl

Well, my son is doing a bit better, but now all the rest of us are sick...uggggh! The good thing is that the scales are finally going back down for me! Woo hoo! I'll check in when I am feeling a bit better!

newbeginning 03-25-2006 01:23 PM

Hi! I am new here, and Ug! Have alot of weight to lose. Over 100 pounds! Am excited to have found this thread and looking forward to being here. I currently weigh 245. Can't believe I just typed that BIG Ugly number. Am trying to learn my way around this site. I have alot to learn. LOL So to all a big Hello, and Have A Happy Day!

meowee 03-25-2006 01:30 PM

Hello everybody . . . Nice and sunny this afternoon although the morning was pretty foggy which is, of course, a sign of changing temperatures. It's in the forties. The knee is still sore and I have to get a few groceries but after that it can rest up for the rest of the weekend.

I did the sitting and stretching section of my Yoga DVD last night and thought I would die even without doing the 'legs' part. Boy am I ever tight. Shows how much I need to make this stretching stuff a habit. At least you do it slow, so you don't have to sweat much. :D

Tina . . . I bet you'll suddenly see a good loss. There is nothing really consistent about the way our bodies choose to act. Just hang in there and it will eventually cooperate. ;)

Java . . . We will forgive you . . . get those drunk drivers off the road, girl.

Garnet . . . Don't worry, that really doesn't sound like 5 lbs of extra food. Just keep on with your great exercising and you'll be fine. :)

Cheryl . . . oh please, don't remind me about the summer heat and humidity. :^: As much as I want this winter over with, I really hope we get a nice long Spring for a change.

Cassie . . . hang in there girl, pretty soon everybody will be healthy again. At least you got the scales going in the right direction.

Have a great rest of the weekend, everybody. Here's a little dose of :dust: to help us through . . . I know I usually need some about now. :carrot:
