Hey girls! How you all doing? I'm a lot better than yesterday. Still fighting the flu, but I'm not achey or dizzy anymore. My husband MADE me go to the doctor yesterday. They took blood, LOTS of blood! Of course needles aren't my favorite thing in the world, so I got sick...LOL! My husband was saying how red I was in my face (due to a 103 fever) and then when I came out of the lab he said I was white like a sheet. I had to go back to the clinic today and doc says it's a viral infection, to rest up and drink lots of fluids. But when I got up this morning not feeling dizzy and achey I decided I could walk on the treadmill at a slow & maintained pace. Not being able to eat yesterday put me down another 3lbs., but I am not going to count it cause as soon as I get some fluids back into me and some food, I know it will not remain the same. But here's to hoping! :) It was awesome reading 235.5 on the scale though. hehehe
I feel so far behind on my personals....here it goes! Lois, that's terrible news. Losing someone is awful in itself, but when it's someone so young makes it even more tougher to deal with. I pray you and your family will be strong and uphold one another during this terrible time. There are no words to express how sadden I am for you and your family. Take care and take it one day at a time, grief is not something you can deal with easily. We understand if you're not going to be around for a few days...but we will sure be waiting for you to come back! **HUGS** Congrats on your loss of 2lbs. Jelynn, great scale victory! You're doing so well. Seems like that game is a great incentive for you. At the rate your going your bulges will soon become concaves! LOL Linda, doesn't it feel like the world has been lifted off of your shoulders when you finally see the scale move again!? Congratulations, I'm so happy for you! That really bites about your calorie screw up, but at least it's not a great deal of difference. It might only cost you a yogurt or something. Cheryl, thanks for sharing the ceiling moment with me! My ears perked up when you mentioned the dancing workout vids. I like gettin' my groove on...hahaha More so my daughter! The only problem is.. K Mart went out of this town about 8 years ago. But I guess I could check out some other places. Thanks for the recommendation. Mum, nice to see you back again! You certainly have the determination, it's the motivation that messes you all up. How can we fix that?! LOL We all seem to lack it at some point, so don't fret, you're not the only one. Trust me! The important is that you're back and not going to give up on yourself. Teahoney, great job with the exercise. I'm sure those nice, new, pink shoes are giving you your moneys worth! Java, you're doing really well on the bike. Question, how do you find your knees working out on a bike? Pattybgud, I loved the movie! Your little one sounds like she knows the good stuff when she hears it! LOL Congratulations on your promotion, that's really great news! Cassie, I like the BL workout. Somethings are difficult to get through, for me it would be jumping jacks and lunges. I know not all things are going to come easy at first and they are getting way easier than from when I first started. Overall I feel you get a good workout, Lord knows you sweat enough! LOL I'm doing the six week program it offers, I'm on week one of the second phase. (this week is totally busted!) I'm a little confused as to where to go after that. But I really can't compare it to anything cause it's the first workout video I've ever tried. BTW - Congrats on the big loss! Wooo Hoooo! So sorry to hear about your dog. That's very sad, especially for your kids to deal with. They get so attached. I remember when I "lost" my cat when I was about 5/6 yrs. I was beside myself, only to find out when I grew up my mom took her to be put down. I'm still not letting her forget that one! Stayce, wow, you've been through the ringer this week! Glad you're okay though. I would definitely look into getting a role over of your fees into the next month seeing your doctor advised you not to workout. When I was at Curves my doctor told me to stay off that machine that you rest on your shoulders and do squats. It really hurt the backs of my heels that I could barely walk. Take care of yourself. Maybe you could do a slow paced walk on the treadmill once in a while. It's tough not to exercise when "big" girls like us depend on it! I felt so bad yesterday for skipping. It's funny how our priorities shift...we're not all geared for food anymore. We might be "big" but we're definitely the curviest health nuts around! LOL Well, I think that's all. We're thinking of you Paula, wherever you are. And Garnet, hope to see you around soon too! Have a good day girls! Thanks for all your well wishes for me. I appreciate it very much! TTFN! ~Tina |
Lois . . . I was so saddened watching the clip of the terrible damage from the fire. If there were words to make it better, I'd definitely be writing them. Stay strong and share these with your family.

Turtle on the desk
Just checking in from work. I am SO SORRY about your losses ladies. Words can't express. So I'll not even try. But you are in my thoughts.
I've been MIA a bit. I fear I'm getting the cold back. It started in my throat again last night (how the first bout started too), but I'm trying to fight it. I even laid back down this morning until time to get ready for work. I just signed up for the "Walk 100 Miles in 100 Days" thingie that a coworker asked me to join. It was five bucks and I get a tee shirt. I don't know all the details yet, but Imma try :^: It starts March 20? I think..... I'll try to get back to you all (individually) on tomorrow's shift. It'll be my Friday, and I'm hoping I'll be in a better frame of mind and physical wellness. Cheers to you all. Hugs & peace too. Still no Paula?:( Java Turtle |
Just a quick check in to see how everyone is doing. I totally blew it today food wise, but tomorrow is a new day. All I can say is that Hardee's was very good.
Lois...I'm so sorry for your loss. Stay strong and know that we are here for you. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers. Cassie...You sorry to hear your dog was killed. We so love our furry friends and feel so lost when we know longer have them around us. 6 lbs is AWESOME!!! Tina...So glad to hear you are feeling better, just take it slow. That bug is really nasty in letting you think you are getting better, and then hit you again. Tina, I'll check tomorrow to see if there is a web address for the Dance DVD Paula and Garnet...Miss you both and hope you are doing well. Liza...Good for you for getting right back on track. Me too!! Death to Fries:devil: LOL Java...Hope you are doing good as well. I'll try to check back later. Cheryl |
Good morning to everyone. Sunny and cold again in Nova Scotia, and we got a little more snow overnight. The forecast is threatening to give us 6 to 8 inches on Monday. Ain't Spring grand :dizzy:
Still missing Paula and Garnetfairy . . . where are you, girls. Have a fun and fantastic day. See you all soon. :carrot: |
Turtles' on the clock
But at least it's my "FRIDAY." No plans for the week end, other than comparitive grocery shopping. So far it's been an easy day. I talked to a friend on line for a good bit this morning (before work) and she sent me FIVE songs that are all totally "Walkable" "Bouce-able" and "bike-able" and I'm glad I got to catch up with her. It's jeans, Polo and tennis shoes today at work and it may be cold, but it's sunny. Hey, I'm trying to look on the bright side. :p My weight has NOT been moving, but I'm hopeful I'll pull it together and once I start this "100 Miles in 100 Days" thing a coworker talked me into, I'll start losing. I can get my food and water and exercise going good, but NEVER at the same time! What gives? Maybe making a committment to someone else (that I don't know all that well) might be the incentive I need. That starts Monday. I'm going to dry to avoid Turtle bingeing before that.:^:
Jelynn: Twenty pounds!? You go Gurrrrl. :carrot: Pattybgud: Congratulations on your promotion. I agree that the good thing about WW is the ability to have treats and to not have to cut any one thing out. Best of CONTINUED luck to you. AndrewsMum: I hear ya on the zero fat/cal chocolate. Your lips to God's ear. Let's keep our fingers crossed. :smug: Cassie501107: 6 Pounds? That's incredible. I'm sorry about your stress levels. I hope the Zoloft works well for you. Take care. Lois: Again, I'm so sorry for your loss. I watched the news story with tears streaming. Peace and hugs to you, girl. "Weigh" to go on your two pounds. LadyLai: It's good to hear you're feeling better. Good luck and here's hoping for continued improvements. Take care of yourself. Cheryl120: Hardee's got me TOO! Evil buggers. I did get the grilled chicken sammich, but well, I guess I accidentally asked for the grilled chicken club which included bacon. Sigh.. :?: But I DID manage to avoid the fries. All I got was the sandwich and it cost just a smidgen under five bucks. I gotta tell ya, it was good, but it wasn't THAT good.:( Here's hoping we BOTH get back on track soon. AND HOW! ;) Meowee: We had a bit more than a dusting yesterday morning, but it's melted now. It was only 30 today. This up and down in temps is making a lot of people sick. You stay warm and healthy up there. Hang on. Spring is coming! Anyone heard from Paula yet? I sent some unanswered IM's on Yahoo. We're missing quite a few people, no? Everyone else? Where are you? All-lee all-lee in free! :mag: :mag: :mag: :mag: :mag: :mag: Turtle Hugs and peace to all who roost here. Java Turtle |
Well... Report from WW was another 3.2 lbs lost this week!! That brings me up to (or down, so to speak) 25 pounds! I am thrilled! Have a good weekend, everyone!
Yes, I love that WW gives me the flexibility to have my favorite foods and STILL lose weight. |
Evening Everyone :D
Tina...So glad you are feeling better, just don't over do it. :carrot: Pattybud...WhooooHoooo on your loss. 25 lbs is fantastic!!!!  I love the flexiblity of WW points also. I just need to not cave in to my cravings like Hardee's. Java...Yes!! Hardee's was sooooo goood, but I didn't have my WW dining out book to look up the points yesterday. I knew better, but I caved in and had the chicken sandwich and large order of fries. Total points was 32!!! I only have 33 for the day, so a very bad choice on my part. I was back on track today and stayed within my points. My Hardee's escapades cost me a 2 lb gain, but the fries were sooo good. Today I have been busy working on a quilt. Can't eat when I'm busy sewing, I just drink lots of water instead. The other thing I did was color my hair. Not only did I shock my husband when he came home from work, but I shocked myself as well. The color I bought was Auburn with red highlights. My hair was a mousy brown with LOTS of grey, not any more. I'm getting use to it, and so is my husband even tho he said he liked it better grey. MEN!! Have a good one ladies. Hugs to you all  Cheryl |
Thanks for missing me! and for the turtle IM. I was on my way to post here when I got it, honest!
Last friday I went to a movie with carolyn (my in person friend) and ended up going home with her until Monday when she got a stomach virus and I had to go home. I did not go to the gym to weigh in Tuesday and did not go to the gym at all this week until tonight. I got in a half hour tonight and checked my weight. It is still 276 which is WONDERFUL as far as I'm concerned! I hurt my shoulder at the gym week before last working out with one of the employees, dumb man, pushing me to do something, dumb me for doing it. Anyway, then sleeping on the mat on the floor made it worse, but now I have a brand new single bed which is up high in the sky and I love it! but I went to Carolyn's and tried to sleep on her futon which agravated the shoulder more so I had to sleep with her the whole time I was there. Thank goodness we are both capable of sharing a double bed with a big old woman because she is my size or a little smaller. Anyway we did great and had fun (no exercise) went to some bookstores and stuff until she got sick. Poor thing is doing better now though so that is good. The movie we saw was the Libertine which I liked but would hesitate to recommend because it is a really weird sort of movie and I can see how it could be offensive to some people and boring to others. It was not what I expected it to be but it was Johnny Depp and I could watch him sit on the ground for an hour I think so I was happy. He really gets to stretch as an actor in this one. (I hope he was stretching) ha ha ha I have not gone back through and read all the posts I have missed yet. My mouse is not working properly and will not scroll and is misbehaving in ways I cannot describe. But it is a bother. Anyway so all of the above is why I have not been posting/reading the threads It is my mouse arm that has the bad shoulder but it is doing better now. Also, I have not been eating on program for SB but apparantly have kept it low cal enough not to gain but i did not know this until tonight when I went to the gym and weighed. This gave me the incentive to post. I had thought I was gaining weight and blowing the whole thing with all the sub sandwiches (turkey) due to the bread which is a no no for SB and the lack of exercise. I have the Biggest Loser book and Jillian's book and they are both interesting to read. So far I like Jillian's more than I expected and the Biggest Loser one is less technical than I anticipated. But they are both good. Cheryl - just finished Richard Simmons' Never Say Diet. Those exercises make me sweat! pooped me out last night, have not done them today...but the day's not over. I hope you are doing well. I did read the posts on this page and know enough to offer my condolences to Lois and Cassie...I am very sorry for your losses. |
Glad to see you back, Garnet, we were getting concerned. Sounds like you've been having fun and practicing maintenance. ;)
Sounds like a great colour, Cheryl. Enjoy it and get back on track doing all the good stuff and you'll feel even better. Men don't like change so don't worry about the husband comment. :D Another great loss, Patty. Keep up the good work. Just hang in there, Java. Keep doing the right stuff and the scales will start moving again. Sometimes they just get stubborn. See you tomorrow, gang. Try to stay out of trouble for what's left of the day. :carrot: |
Hi y'all its been a quiet couple of days, guess everyones too busy working out to post
welcome back garnet now we just gotta find paula:mag: weigh in day tomorrow, im not really expecting a loss, i dont feel like iv lost anything but i dont feel like iv gained either, so ill be pleased to stay the same after my last few gains:carrot: |
Hi Liza . . . maybe you'll get a nice surprise tomorrow. Hope so.
|
Morning ladies. I am down one pound this week. Not too bad. Didn't exercise nearly as much as I would have liked last week so I'll be back on track with that this coming week. Hope to see a bit of a bigger loss for next week and maybe even reach 10 pound weight loss goal for the month.
|
Lois  I am so sorry for your loss  I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers
Teahoney - congrats on the pound!! Garnet - glad you are having fun :) Cheryl - the first day of hair color is always the most shocking. Red colors tend to fade very quickly Patty - congrats on the 3.2 and the 25 total!! :carrot: Hotcupojava - I'm getting back into the exercise thing this week with walking and Curves, its the only way I'm going to see the results I want!! Ladylai - I'm glad to hear you are feeling a little bit better  Meowee - stay safe in that snow!! AndrewsMum - find the willpower deep in side of you, YOU ARE WORTH IT!! Cassie - I'm so sorry about your dog  my little babies mean so much to me, I would be heartbroken if that happened to either of them, they are my children :( Staycee - I hope you are feeling better soon  Just make sure you decrease your food to account for not exercising and you'll be fine!! Jelynn - WTG on the exercise!!! Robisa - congrats on your St. Paddys day goal!!! I haven't check in for days and I had a lot of catching up to do, so sorry if I missed anyone. I'm going to have my official weigh in tomorrow, I don't know what to expect after my scale adjustments but I'm staying focused. I was having a hard time fitting exercise into my schedule so my husband suggested I schedule it in my appointment book since I would be lost without it. So I have, I'm scheduling myself for Curves every day that I don't have an early appointment or meeting. So far this week, I'm on for Monday & Wednesday - Friday, four days is a good start and I'll make sure I walk a few days too. I turn 40 in 31 weeks, I'm so focused on my goal of 100 pounds gone that I'm shooting for 100 pounds gone by mid October? Is is possible? I hope so and I plan on doing everything in my power to make it happen...without being foolish about it of course! Thanks so much for being my support system  |
very quick check in before i lose my motivation, im down 3lbs for the week, i'll be back later to do my ticker right now im off to do a workout :carrot:
