I hope so, by the time I retire the weather will be nice and I won't have to be like those little old ladies flocking to Palm Beach!

Wendy and Susie - Our weather isn't quite as extreme as yours, but ours has also been totally out of whack! Our rains were almost 3 months late this year! And as a result, we had those 3 months rain in about 2 weeks! We almost washed away a few times. And now we've just had a cold front come through!! This is normally still a warmish month for us and a temp of 18 deg C is like freezing! We're all thinking that it will be a long hard winter and not one that I'm looking forward to.

hi all

I did nothing today. The rain hammered down. We seem to have long fine periods and then days of incredibly heavy rain. It’s subtropical weather. Horrid in summer but at least the long hot days are nice when we get them. (looks like today is a day for discussing weather lol)

really tired so hopping into bed now. I do try to start things but I never seem to progress them. I guess I have to be tougher on myself because i'm not getting anything done. hopefully i will be able to kick my butt into gear tmrw

nite all

So,I can't seem to get my back into shape.I can't do any exercises which really sucks I think I will try and wait the week out and start fresh on Monday. We are doing Game#2 of Beat the Bulge on Monday so I hope to get my butt in gear for that!
Anyone interested?

I started the day quite well. Went for a 3.0km walk with the dogs. Stopped off for ice cream on the way back and found it very hard to get started again but we got home safe and sound so it was a good walk. I need to increase my fitness so I am up to dancing. Have to confess I am v tired now and ready for a nap but a friend from out of town is calling in soon so I will chat with her first and then have a lie down. Hope she doesn’t want coffee – there’s no milk in the house!

Donna i know all about late nights. i always intend to go to bed by 11pm but often i find it takes longer than i expect to do all the little things before bed.

wendy - have you got an injury? or is it motivation that is making exercise hard

meg congrats on the weight loss. my weight has gone back up not good...

Hi Sweet Pea! Yes,I have an injury I have had chronic whiplash in my lower back for 15 years and now also have arthritus in it so I find it painful to move sometimes. The docs wanted me to have surgery 10 years ago to kill the nerve but I decided not to go through with it because I wouldn't feel it if I hurt myself and that could cause serious problems.

Well. g'night girls,chat tomorrow

Wendy - if you've got arthritis have you thought of taking fish oil and eve primrose oil? I've got osteo-arthritis in my hands and my knees and have found that it makes a big difference. I'm still stiff and creaky, but not sore. I also take a supplement with chondrotim, glucosomine and some herbs like tumeric. It also helps, apparently, to take ginger and garlic.

Donna - take a few days off and then start again. Sometimes exercise when you're tired is just impossible.

My mom and brother are off down to the Cape tomorrow so I've got my flat to myself for a week! Can hardly wait.

had a nap this arvo and that was my day!~

i agree with meg - fish oil or flaxseed oil can help. also my dog had artritis on her elbow. as it is weightbearing she had to lose her weight. i dieted her and the difference is incredible. she no longer needs medication and is really active. the other thing that helped is having the puppy. the extra exercise and stimulation has helped her joints. totally amazing!

also i know some people that have had amzing results for backpain from acupuncture

meg - enjoy your time to yourself. amzing to have arthritis so youngy
