  • hello to all
This may not amount to much of a post but I am back home from John's memorial service. His brother's and sister's put it together.

PainterWoman--I tried to open your pm but it would not let me.

I haven't been back to work yet. There was a stomach virus going around and it hit me Sunday afternoon when I got home. I'll probably go tomorrow.
  • Morning all,

Another day here in Wollongong. Actually I thought when I left home that I might get away from the heat and humidity, but hello, it’s as bad here as there.

Seem to be a reasonable bunch of people here. Some of them are even sane. That makes a change. Several people here whom I have met on previous jobs. That makes it one jolly club!

I’ve been keeping up with some of the exercise here. Every morning at least ½ hour of pilates and abs crunches etc. After work I go for a walk along the beachfront. Yesterday I found a mile marker thing so I will be working on running the kilometres soon, although I don’t think I will be doing the 13km run anytime soon.

Madcat – glad to hear that the ‘DRESS’ has appeared and that you are happy with your choice. Waiting to see the pictures.

Holly – Can the Kiwis join in? Could do with all of those things about chefs and cleaners etc.

Happy I am in Wollongong, not Wooloongong. Best not have the natives out in force for not spelling their little town right.
Yes Sunday is only there for 2 weeks. At least at this stage, she is. However if DS2 decides not to come back from Perth next week, we will have to rethink the situation. I will be ringing them today to see how she is going. Need to ring the DS2 as well. He rang me yesterday when I was in a meeting. I couldn’t get him last night.

Anyway better cut this a bit short. Back later.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR MEADOW,
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
  • Happy Birthday to Meadow. Thanks for the heads up Mel.

  • SHAD
  • Look Who Stopped by to Visit!!!
    Happy Birthday Meadow!

  • Dear Meadow, have a blessed day!!!
  • Mean't mention also, that I heard that AB will be on Michael Parkinson on Saturday night. Don't know how old it is, but hey AB is AB right Meadow?
  • Thank you so much

    You ladies are wonderful.
  • Ooohh AB's eyes follow you no matter which side you move to.

He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake...

    Gosh, is AB Santa Claus?

Shad, my apologies to the good people of Wollongong - I knew I should have spell checked but I think I got distracted by DH talking to me and just went ahead and posted. You seem to be getting a nice mix of exercise in. I am jealous of the beachfront walk. How are you doing the Pilates? Memorized routine, magazine article, DVD? Keep up the good work. Glad to hear the office situation is decent and welcoming.

Welcome back Ceejay, hope you are feeling better soon.

Mel, thank you for keeping us on track with the social calendar. Every time you remind us I think, I should keep up with things but then I get forgetful. So thank you for being my brain today Do the seniors do the bunny hop after making their bunny hats?
  • Happy Birthday Meadow.

Happy--You mention Santa Claus. I drove through Santa Claus, Indiana or Illinois this week end. Can't remember which state I was in at the time. I also thought about you when I drove through Illinois.

I can't believe that it's day three and I still have not gone back to work. I drug myself to the doctor's office yesterday and my white blood count was up. I forgot that whenever I complain of an upset stomach that I will get stuck for lab work. I'm going to call back today and tell him that I'm still periodically running fever.

Shad -seem like you are settling in your new surroundings. I'm envious of your beach walks.

Madcat--I'm glad that you found the wedding dress.

Hello to Holly and the rest

I've gotten tired of the bed and couch but I still don't feel rested.
  • Happy Birthday Dear Meadow.........
    IN CASE YOU DIN'T KNOW IT'S MEADOW'S BIRTHDAY! :LOL3: :LOL3: :LOL3:

Welcome home Ceejay. I am glad you're home safe and sound....hope you feel much better soon and get rid of this nasty bug <----that's a bug hug.

Happy~ I never try to spell Shad's towns. I just call them "that place" and her work I call "that stuff"
If the seniors start hopping around it will be a miracle but it's worth the try just to witness it!! Your AB pic was gorgeous!! Very nice work. Took me almost an hour to get stuff here and I think it's not legal!!!

Shad~ So how do you like the new place and the new work stuff? I love the visual of the beach walk If you don't mind, I'll sit and enjoy watching all the passerbys!!! Making new friends? any uniforms? bring your camera? OH!! that reminds me that I must go and look at Japan. YIKES!!!

I think I have the Winter Lazies or something. Not feeling like doing anything!!! Maybe I'll tackle the kitchen drawer. When you open it, stuff jumps up! Time for breakfast so I'll see you tomorrow. Wait....
One day I left a note on my door saying I couldn't come to the door as I had hurt my neck. So one of the seniors left a note telling me what time I could get up and let her son in as she was going out and was too busy. When I saw her I reminded her of the note and my neck. She said that's why she left the note so she wouldn't BOTHER ME!! So I guess letting her son in wouldn't
    Anyway he never showed up.
    Happy Wednesday/Thursday
  • Hello all, just dropping in.

    Meadow, Happy Birthday.

Madcat, I'm dying to see the dress. I still absolutely love the dress I was married in, even tho the husband and marriage are long gone... It was a very inexpensive flowy sort of écru shift from la Cache, of all places, which covered a multitude of fluffy bits and cost a total of $160 Canadian!

Tonight on PBS at 9pm there's a Monty Python special - some of Eric Idle's favorite skits. I mention it because one skit is "the Australian Bruces", and I intend to watch it in honour of our Shad's adopted homeland... For the youngsters in the crowd, this is an opportunity to get some insight into what us boomers thought was funny way back in the 70's... Of course it doesn't hurt to remember that many of us were in a somewhat altered reality...

Ceejay, get well soon and try to get some rest.

Mel, if you weren't answering the door because of your neck, how were you even supposed to know one of the seniors had left a note on it? People can be so illogical! Maybe it's an aftereffect of whatever SHE was doing during the seventies...

Shad, it sounds like you've lucked out on the new job (in that place, doing that stuff ). Are all the men you work with called Bruce? (My apologies if you don't know the skit in question...)
