Hey girls, i meant to post yesterday but things got real busy I just got back from my therapy session and just when things started to get easier they go and up my weights and repetitions....I guess it's got to keep getting harder to strengthen me up eh? It's a pain though. I'm actually looking forward to going back to the orthopedic doc and seeing if I improved enough to stop the therapy. I know I probably sound like a lazy butt right?

Michael's class has a talent show this afternoon and he will be the emcee. I'm lugging a full cooler of canned juice and bottled water for refreshments afterwards. I don't think I can carry the cooler up the classroom steps though... gotta do more of these

Red, ya know, this thread kind of waxes and wanes, please don't feel like we're ignoring you I hope your cats are just going in for regular check ups and nothing serious? How're your articles coming along?

Julie, butterscotch chips? Yum! Well I caved yesterday and ate 2 slices of Michael's b-day cake. I threw out the other half though, it was tempting me something awful. Then after I ate those 2 slices all the sugar did a number on my stomach and I wasn't a very happy person the rest of the day (where's the 'feels like puking' smiley when you need one?) I'm with you on eating real food and not those protein bars. Sometimes they are good for on the run kind of days but mostly I prefer to eat something good.

Angie, I'm so proud of you for not giving up. It's not easy losing weight and it's definitely a mind game. I'm not trying to sabotage you or anything, but maybe you're not eating enough calories? I mean, I'm not trying to convert you either, but on WW they allow you a certain number of 'points' per day according to your body weight. You have to eat the minimum number of points each day and you can earn more if you do exercises...but anyway, I've found that if I don't eat all my points consistently and exercise like regular, I don't lose as much that week. When I force myself to eat all the points I'm allowed, drink all my water and follow the plan to a T, those are the weeks where I can drop 3 lbs. It's weird, but sometimes I feel like I'm eating so much and yet the weight just comes off!

Cherie, glad your docs appt. went well, I know we all hate those appointments! It's nice to have a sensitive doctor though, I really hate those with no bedside manner. How are you doing with those spacers? Stay away from chewy food or they may just get pulled out--it happened to me

Dips, wow your massage guy is 6'7"??? Hehe, one of the guys that works on me is actually about an inch shorter than I am--but he has good hands Hey, with your motivation running high you will win that competition despite your lazy partner. And those Krispy Kremes? You gotta do what you gotta do sometimes right?

Kempy, hope you're enjoying yourself out there

Cal, TGIF!!! So do tell about your adventures last weekend.

So is anyone watching this season's American Idol show? Did you hear about those twins that made it to Hollywood, only to get arrested for identity theft in their home state? That's too bad too, because they had great voices. Well, gotta get ready for that talent show....chat later!

Well, Today is weigh day and I am going to weigh in. I GAINED 1 1/2 pounds this week!!! I have not been screwing up at all. I had some WOW chips with low fat onion dip on 2 evenings for a snack and that is all!!! I am so pissed right now. So I guess I would have to say NO, I am not lucky because the weight is just melting right off. I am working my *** off and it isnt moving. I weigh the exact same weight as I did 3 weeks ago and I have been working hard to lose. Sorry to rant on and on but geesh!! So, I am going to take today completely off and start fresh Sunday. Maybe that will trick my metabolism or something. I dont know what else to do.

My sister found a little black pomeranian out front of her house last night. She called me at about 9 last night and said she heard a truck slam on its breaks and then drive off. She thought maybe her cat got hit so she went outside to check. She saw a small dog under her car and coaxed her out and brought her inside. I would say she doesnt even weigh 3 pounds. She is so sweet because of course we went down to see her. I gave her a bath because she smelled like cigs(GROSS!) and Wendy is going to go around today to see if she can find an owner anywhere. Why a dog that color and size would be out at night alone I would like to know. I am going to take her down some food in a minute and see her. We brought Rebel in and it was so funny. He didnt know whaat to do with a dog so small. She chased him everywhere and tried to get him to play and she humped him too. My poor boy....so violated.

Hey girls, what's shakin' this Saturday? We took Michael to watch the movie Hoodwinked last night...the story of Red Riding Hood from the perspective of each of the characters, it was funny but not as good as say, Toy Story I'm not up to much today, just doing laundry and puttering around the house. I had a tuna sandwich and some chicken noodle soup for lunch Just your basic, boring Saturday

Angie, I feel your pain sister. You can get mad, but just get going back on track tomorrow. You are doing the right things and eventually the weight will come off, sometimes the scale is just a really evil thing. Do you think that pom was dumped by the person in the truck or did it just wander to your sis' house from a neigbors? I'm glad she found it and not some animal hater. I can just picture that tiny little dog trying to hump Rebel poor guy!

OK the rest of you girls, roll call!

Hi Girls, I am feeling pretty sick. My poor son threw up yesterday and has the same cold. Oh well what are you going to do when you have one in preschool and the other in kindergarten? They pass colds every other week. I have been snacking less so that is good.

Angie I agree with Noelle, you are doing all the right things and don't worry that scale will start moving down again soon!

Noelle I wanted to take the kids to Hoodwinked....maybe next weekend, it won't be so crowed then anyway.

Hi everyone else out there. Take care and have a nice rest of the weekend.

This week felt so long. Why is it that having a Monday off makes the week feel longer????

I got progress reports out (we give them out every 2 weeks). Amazing...the kids started asking what they can do to bring up their grades. "Do the work and hand it in...on time!!!" Simple enough...don't you think???

Noelle: We had a great time last weekend. We stayed at the Paradise Pier Hotel on the 13th floor. (Yes, they actually had a 13th floor). It was wonderful to just walk across the street and through the Californian hotel and the private entrance to California Adventure...no lines. We went on nearly every ride in just 2 days; on the ferris wheel, we were even able to stay on and ride twice because there wasn't anyone in line. Ashley even went on Tower of Terror with Bert. She was afraid, but now says it was fun and she wants to go on it again. I even bought the picture of her on the ride...she looked terrified. I never did find the collage. Maybe next time. My brother and his family were there as well; they stayed at the Grand Californian. I prefer the Paradise Pier. The next time you go there, you should consider it.

Angie: You are doing great. I know it can be so frustrating for the scale to not move, or to move in the wrong direction. I don't even own a scale. The only time I know what I weigh is when I go to the doctor. I have a size goal and I work for that. My lean weight is so high that the scale will never be good to me...so I don't own one. I've never even been tempted to step on the one at my sister's house either. I have been thinking about joining WW with Noelle. My neighbor is going to do it and we are thinking about doing this together. Power in numbers!!!

Hello to everyone else. I don't have time to do individual posts right now as I have about 6 assignments (from 6 classes) to finish grading.

Have a great rest of the weekend.

Good Morning Everyone!!! Monday.... it's going to be a better Monday than most.. I think I have finally found some motivation!

This weekend, I didn't do much of anything. Friday night, I went to the movies alone and saw Brokeback Mountain. It was a beautiful movie, and the actors were great, however, I just didn't feel the cowboy love. :-) Yesterday I saw Kinsey, and that is to say the least, was a much more interesting movie.. Liam Neelson and his friend were much more believable in the "boy love" than Jake and Heath were. For the rest of the weekend, I just stayed at home and vegged. Last night I did get the rest of my laundry finished and my house organized.

For just this week, I plan on trying to get on the treadmill every day, eat healthy and keep my house organized and really work on the dog potty training.

Angie.... you know that 1 1/2 pound gain isn't FAT.... its muscle and water weight girl.. just keep working.. you are doing such a great job and you all are being so inspirational!!! Oh... back when I was about 19.... on my way home from work, I almost ran over a red Pomerainian... I stopped.. and let her get out of the way.. and then I started driving again.. and she started following my car. So I stopped again, and opened up my door.. and she came right to me and jumped in. I took her home, because I knew that road she was on was going to get her killed before the night was over, everyone from the factory was getting off work and it was a really busy road. Anyway.. she was all dirty and had fleas.. so I washed her and looked to see if I could ever find anyone who claimed her, but no one did.. I ended up calling her Toto... and when I moved back with my mom and Stepdad... they took her over. She lived with them for about another 8 years before she died. They are great dogs!

Julie... I hope you and your son start feeling better. I've been lucky so far, no major illnesses for either the girls or myself this winter.

Cal.. your trip sounded so nice.... good luck with getting your grading done!

Noelle.. sounds like your knee is getting better... they wouldn't give you extra reps if they didn't think it would help you and if you couldn't handle it! How was Michael's emcee job?? :-) I bet that was cute!

Red.... Hey there! How was your weekend? I hope you got to relax some, and I hope your cats are doing OK.... you are brave to take them both at the same time! I remember trying to take my cat in the car to the vet, and he would just make the most horrible noise, you would think I was killing him with all that howling and moaning....

Kempy... Hey there... hope you are doing well..

Dips.. how is your baby doing?

OK.. back to work here..... Talk to you guys soon!

Cherie

Good morning girls. We had some major thunderstorm last night and I actually had a dream that I was on a ship and it was getting tossed around in the ocean There is more heavy rain forecast for the rest of the day so I will probably stay indoors. Yesterday we went to the local mall to look at some displays that the Catholic schools put up of the kids' work. Michael didn't have anything displayed but my 8 y.o. niece had this neat table-top model of the solar system. I called my sis and congratulated her for doing a good job Then she told me that she actually got the model from a friend at work whose kid had made it....duh! False advertising! **Oh, and Michael did a bang-up job as emcee for the talent show. It made me laugh a little because at some point he reminded me of Ben Stein as Ferris Bueller's teacher taking roll call--remember that???

Cherie, glad you got your motivation back I know you can get on that treadmill like you want...what shows are on this week? I was thinking about you and your training for that half-marathon. I was supposed to do this 8+ mile walk next month but I don't think my knee can go that long Last thing I want to do is mess it up again. I haven't seen either of those movies you mentioned yet (I think I was a bit embarrassed to rent Kinsey at Blockbuster a while back ) but when I sign up for Netflix it's going on my list You were so sweet to rescue that pom and wow, 8 years of companionship for your mom and stepdad, that's just awesome.

Red, how's your personal 21-day challenge coming along? Has this New Year gotten off to a positive start for you?

Cal, I will look into Paradise Pier for next time I am so proud of Ashley for getting on that Tower of Terror. Bert is a great aunt! You know the secret to that ride? It's WAY more fun if you don't hold on, just go with the flow. We all love it too. I don't think we'll be getting out to Anaheim any time soon but we will be saving up for Michael's 10th b-day and maybe heading to Disney world ( 3 years!). I would highly recommend WW, as you know I can't stop raving about it. It doesn't feel like a 'plan' and it really is a lifestyle change. Go for it!

Julie, I hope both you and your DS are feeling better real quick and that DD or DH doesn't catch it as well! I tried Airborne (an herbal/vitamin fizzy tablet) while on vacation to Vegas (both on the plane and while in the casinos), and even though I got a touch of a stuffy nose and sore throat during the trip, it only lasted a day or 2. You may wanna try it. The lime flavor tastes best to me. There's even a kids version as well Take care of yourself

Angie, how was your weekend? Did anyone claim the pom?

Kempy, are you back at work today? I'm looking at my MK catalog...I will let you know this week OK?

anywho, gotta get ready for therapy (pain!) Have a good day everyone.

Hi Girls, how is everyone? I have been taking care of sick kids, yesterday I took ds to the doctor and she thought maybe pneumonia because he had wheeze in his lung but the xray came out okay so they gave him an inhaler to help with the coughing fits and my poor dd has broken out with hives all over her body! What a mess, huh? Oh well I think they are getting better. Anyway since my TOM has passed I have shed two pounds....no more butterscotch chips for me.

Noelle I had to laugh when you said Ferris Bueller. I have watched that movie probally a hundred times. I love all of those movies like Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club and I love Better Off Dead. Oh the
80's!

Cherie I like your plans for the week. Those are things I should be working on too.

Angie I saw something on tv last night about plateaus. It said you need to add short high impact to your workout routine. Like if you are walking, walk at a normal pace and they speed walk and then go back to normal pace. I know you are excercising so hard though. Keep going you are doing great!

Cal your trip sounds nice! That is quite often for progress reports. It nice for the parents but alot of work on you I bet.

Kempy how are things going?

Dips how is the puppy doing?

Gotta run girls. Have a great day and I will check back later.

Good Morning.... Noelle.. I had a reply yesterday, but 3FC froze up on me, gave me an error page and when I tried to go back, I lost my entry and was too frustrated to rewrite it... Sorry.. :-)

Julie.. I hope your kiddos start feeling better soon.. Poor babies...

Yesterday went well for me... stayed on track with my food and got in 3 miles on the treadmill.

This afternoon, I go to the orthodontist (Hannah went this morning) for some more fittings and molds and what not... one more week before I get the full metal mouth syndrome. After that, I take my dog to the vet.. for some shots and to see how big she is now.. she is really growing alot.. and I can tell she is starting to lighten up, she is losing the black from around her nose and the rust color coat is turning more light brown. My baby is growing up!

I wish we would get some thunderstorms here.. it really hasn't rained any in the last 6 months, and everything is so dry. However, I can't complain about the temps... its currently 57... so that is nice.

OK.. back to work here.... gotta finish a spreadsheet.. payroll is being ran tomorrow! Talk to you guys later!

Hi girls, glad to see you around again.

Julie, your poor babies! What's going on??? I know you are taking great care of them though. I'm so glad your DS didn't have pneumonia. Did your DD get something for the hives? How are you feeling? Congratulations on your 2 lbs gone You will get to that goal by summer! I love that Ferris Bueller movie too. It's one of my all-time favorites, besides Stand By Me. I remember going to the movies with my girlfriends and seeing those other ones too... remember how weird Ally Sheedy was making snow dandruff in the Breakfast Club? Yuck! My sis was just telling me that there will be a remake of the movie The Outsiders. Did ya see that one back in 83?

Cherie, how big do Wheatens get? Are you and Hannah getting ortho treatment at the same time? Hey, good going on staying on track! It's hard I know, but we CAN do this!

Dips, you gotta come in here and post girl. I need some more of your positive vibes : How's your workouts coming along?

Angie, don't be hiding out on us...or do I have to come up there and find you? Good advice from both Cherie and Julie. You are doing great.

Cal, Red and Kempy.....hope you're all having a great day. Hope to hear more from y'all. Later!

Hey guys, I am still here. Daisy has had diarrhea since we brought her home but we just chalked it up to the change in food. We werent sure it was her as I have never actually caught her afterwards to confirm. She sneezed every so often as well so I figured that was because of the different animals. I am not so sure now. The last few days the poop has had blood in it. Not much just a little streak or so. This morning I got up and scooped her box and put a sample in a bowl so that we could have the vet check it and then she was so sick acting. She threw up and was pooping almost bloody mucous. Jay ran her down to the vet. (We got a new one after Tinky died just to make me feel more comfortable) So he checks her poop for worm and there were none and he felt her stomach and said he could feel something in it so he thinks it is a blockage and to keep an eye on her for the next day or so and if she is still throwing up then he will do surgery! HUH? Shouldnt he have done an xray? So anyways while Jay was gone I got searching on the internet for symptoms and the only thing I can find is FIP. That will kill her if it is what she has but it fits. What am I going to do if I have to watch her die? She has only been here for 2 weeks and I am already so attached to her. The info said that if a cat shows symptoms then they will die within a month or 2. I hope I am overreacting and she has nothing wrong with her but I am so scared.Other than the diarrhea and occasional sneezing she has been fine up until this morning. After her pooping so much this morning she seems fine now. She climbed the condo and is napping, she has been purring when I pet her etc.
