Default Happy Dance!!!!!!

Lori

I survived the trip to the grocery store. I did eat a few almonds before I left the house so I think that got me through. I felt like I was going through the gauntlet.

But it has payed off......:185.5!!!!!!2.5 pound loss

I haven't been doing a prescibed diet just using my common sense. I figure I have to keep this up the rest of my life so......Also, I think part of my success is all my excersize. At least 20 minutes of something everyday.

My husband is not on the lifestyle change with me although he is not the type to have me make a second dinner. I make the dinner pretty much as I would have in the past and then modify it for me. Smaller portion, no bread and extra veggies. I love to bake so I have still been baking and making him eat it all or giving alot of it away. He has a very physical job so he pretty much burns off everything he eats.

Debbie,Chelle where are you?

Amanda

Lou -5 pounds that is terrific!

Lori- I have 3 children too, mine are also a girl, and then two boys. They are a little older though, Daisy just turned 10, Joey is 8.75, and Adam is 7.5.

Amanda -2.5 pounds wonderful!

I'm going to add the collective 7.5 pounds to our 30 something ticker, actually I can only do seven since it won't let me do the half, we'll have to bank the half for later.

The play we are doing is Beauty and the Beast, we are now down to 5 rehearsals before opening night. The kids and I have been doing community theater for 4 years, this is our 5th "season" and it is so much fun. I absolutely LOVE it.

I did South Beach phase 1 for 10 days before Thanksgiving to jump start my weight loss. After working out for months I was getting frustrated that the scale was not moving. It worked well, I lost 8 pounds, and it did take away a lot of my cravings for carbs and sweets. Now I am following WW/counting calories. I'm following what is called "The Wendie Plan" on the ww board, which is a way of flexing your daily calorie intake to keep your body guessing. Instead of eating the same amount of points/calories every day, your vary it, having one super high day followed by a low day, some medium days, ect.

Does everyone have a plan for the weekend? That seems to be a challening time eating wise for most of us.

Welcome Lori . I'm new to this group too, and it's working well for me so far! I'm doing WW too so any tips or recipes you've got, I'd love to hear them - always looking for inspiration!

Thanks Michelle! Beauty and the Beast - wow! You'll need to post pictures of you all in your costumes. I'm going to have a look at hat wendie plan. It sounds like it might be useful when I hit the inevitable plateau.

Well done Amanda It sounds like it hasn't been an easy week for you so that's a great weight loss. It just goes to show, even if you feel you're doing badly - keep going! You never know how things will stack up at the end of the week.

My goal for this weekend is not to go over my points with alcohol - always a danger at the weekends! It's kind of rainy here today so maybe we will just stay in tonight which will help. Other than that I'm going to the supermarket later to get in the last of the ingredients for a fancy Thai meal I'm planning on making tonight mmmmm. Spicy foods speed up your metabolism and I love'em!

This week was my temptation/weak week. It totally fit my m.o. do really well for a round a month and then crash and burn on one delicious item and so starts the downward spiral but not this time except for the afternoon snack of mini-pizza. Very proud of myself.

Plan for the weekend: keep moving.....Extra walking. It will be cold here but sunny. Also putting up Christmas decorations and cleaning the house always burns a little off.

We have dinner party tonight but I am going to make some stew ahead of time and eat a little before we leave if we even go. Spencer and Oliver are feeling a little under the weather so we may not go. Not much else planned except a very little bit of Christmas shopping.

I do need to go grocery shopping, big time, this afternoon so I have all good healthy things on hand for the weekend.

Oh, try this out I know it says postpartum calculator but I guess even our non-moms can use it.

Hi all.....just wanted to quickly let you know I've not dropped off the face of the earth. Been crazy....didn't even get a chance on the computer last night. Brian worked late, Bryce had swimming so that left everything up to me. Been still trying to keep the water intake going, although didn't get as much in yesterday as day before. Today I've gotten 96 oz in thus far. Couple more hours to go. Hope I don't do too bad tonight going to a neighbor's Tastefully Simple party?? Never been to one, but fact I'm at someone else's house I know I won't eat like a hog

Weekend will be a challenge for me. Seems again I do ok at work but at home I lose control. Bryce has swim meet tomorrow afternoon and actually thinking about it, I've got a lot of stuff that needs done to get in gear for the holidays so maybe I won't do too bad.

to everyone new

Gotta run.......

What to hear something funny?

I got pulled over this afternoon.......by a police officer on horseback!!!!!!!!

Spencer doesn't think it is so funny but it was our own fault overdue inspection.

Amanda that is funny!

Susanne! Of course you can join us on our journey towards being fit and healthy. So what's your reccomendation for limiting calorie consumption, and the dreaded "hangover" when going out with friends to a bar? I mean besides avoiding alcohol.

Susanne, we would love to have you and pick your brain. I am very interested on your thought on carb to protein ration, zig zaggin caloires and everything to do with nutrition. I think I basicaly eat right and am having success so far but I know when I plataeu, I will need to tweek my diet and excersize regime to lose more.

Plan for the day:
Water, I do so bad on the weekends
Give away all the magic bars I made last night(Husband and baby are sick and we didn't get to go to my friends party)
Walking, already have planned my mommy only walking group for this morning at 8:30
A tiny bit of shopping
Christmas lights
NordicTrack and weights tonight

Have a great day,
Amanda

Goodmorning! I had two glasses of wine, spinach ravioli, 2 pieces small pieces of garlic bread, and a small dish of ice cream last night. Yesterday was my planned high calorie day, so I'm not feeling to guilty about what I ate last night. Today will be a low calorie day, and I hope to throw in some extra cardio work. I am glad that weigh in is not until next Thursday though!

Today my son has a friend coming over to play, but no other plans. Tomorrow we have a family party to go to. I also must at some point go grocery shopping and do some house cleaning.

Well I managed to get in 80 ounces of water for the day. I don't know why I struggled to drink my water today. I bought some Silk soymilk eggnog today to try. I love eggnog, but I haven't had any yet this year because it's so high in calories. I guess I'll find out tomorrow how the Silk compares to the real thing.

I hope everyone had a great Saturday!

Sick husband and teething baby made for a miserable Saturaday

I didn't get in rearly the water I had been in because I was holding the baby all day. Everytime I realized I wasn't getting enough in I chugged about 8 oz but I woke up this morning with a dry, sore throat.

Raining, cold and overcast here today but I think I am still going to try to get a 30 minute walk in with the dog plus do my Nordic Track, ab, arm combo tonight. I did 1 hour and 20 minute walk with my mommy walking group with 3 hills included.

Baby and husband are still asleep and I am wide awake. Can't get back to sleep. Actually, perfect time for that walk.

Michelle, don't beat yourself up about the drinks with all the cardio you are doing you should definately see a difference on Thurday. I am not a big drinker so giving it up totally, is fine by me. My calorie demons are elsewhere. Mexican food, I love it, salsa, cheese, yummy fatty!!!!! I know if I had some now off the wagon I would go.

8 oz of green tea this morning.

BBL,
Amanda

I think we need to come up with a challenge for the week?
