Chelle it's good to see you here. When do you get your house back? Your new Sketchers sound cute, enjoy them!

We don't have a group weigh in day, just weigh in on whatever day, and then check in. My weigh in day is Thursday, tomorrow!

The kids and I have rehearsal tonight, and I keep having this totally irrational fear that I am going to forget. I'm not sure why, maybe it's because Wednesday is not our "normal" theater day???

I have to, absolutely have to go to the grocery store today. I've been putting it off for to long!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I'm back from rehearsal tonight, I think this is the shortest rehearsal we've ever had. Anyway a show tomorrow, and then closing night is Friday.

I have weigh in tomorrow morning.

Weighed in this morning. Stayed the same, so I have to take a look at what I'm eating. I really think I just plain ate to many carbs this week. I stayed op points/calories wise, but my food choices were low quality. That laziness in going to the grocery store showed up on the scale.

Hi everyone,

Welcome to our new members! This is such a great place for support!!

Hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and good holiday!

I was out sick for the past two days from work. I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things. I've got bronchitis/bad cold. I just took a nap for lunch. I'm still not feeling well at all.

Thanks for all of the support about the comments that lady made at the gym. I also think sometimes I'm too sensitive, which doesn't help things at all.

I better get going. Take care.

Hello everyone!!

I'm glad to see that everyone has had a good Christmas.......I hope that New Years is also good to everyone.

Our Christmas was good except that all 4 of my children have Strep throat. I can't tell you how often I have been used as a Kleenex the last few days.

So, I haven't weighed myself, and frankly I am not planning on it till the Jan 1. I am soooo not looking forward to that

I am looking for a good family friendly healthy cookbook ---- any suggestions? At the drs I found out that my 9 year old weighs 100lbs and my 12 year old weighs 155lbs. I have let them down. I can't believe I allowed this to happen. A big part of our problem is that there is a Burger King 1 block from our home. It is so easy to say, oh lets just get BK for dinner/lunch.....well, it has had its impact on our family. Thankfully the house we are building is nowhere near a fast food place. That will help. But in the meantime, my focus is getting my family healthy. Not a size 0 or 2, but get my girls back to a healthy weight. Without pushing them into an eating disorder.

Oh, I didn't mean for this to become a book!!
Everyone have a wonderful and safe New Years Eve

Nancy

Lisa- I'm sorry your sick, I hope you feel better soon!

Nancy- I'm at a loss for words here. ediets, which is an awesome site, has a 12 week Trim Kids program. I haven't looked into it much, since my kids tend to be underweight, but it might give you a good place to start. Here is their family nutrition page-
http://www.ediets.com/news/family-nutrition-news.cfm

As for fast food, well during the school week, with sports and theater etc. the kids and I eat at McDonalds at least once a week. It is possible to make healthier choices there. The kids get apple dippers instead of fries, and water or milk to drink. I usually eat a double cheese burger minus the bun, and a side salad with half a packet of ranch dressing, and the apple slices from the apple dippers, with water to drink.

Good luck on your whole families fitness journey!

Thanks Michelle!!

I went on the ediets and I joined it. The recipes for kids are definatly something my children would eat, and n *not* feel deprived.

Thanks again for the tip!

Good Morning!!!!!!

I never thought I would say it but I am looking forward to going back to work. I need the structure that it gives me to stay on plan. I am not drinking enough water and not excersizing. Bad girl. It showed up in the scale not a single oz lost!!! Still 181 Shame on me. So Michelle, don't feel bad.

Nancy, my little one is only 1 so I don't have much wisdom about this but have you thought about taking them and yourself to a nutritionist. There they can hear from someone else about portion size, food choices, retraining their tastebuds. I feel for them. It is so hard being a young budding tween. I remember at our gym weigh-in in middle school and being about 25 pounds larger than all the others and of course it was just yelled out, being so embaraced. You need to do it for you whole family. These things just stay with you way into your adulthood.

Way to go Chelle, 2 pounds!!!!!!!!

Amanda

Today is day one, I weighed in for the first time this morning. I was just a little surprised by the number. It was a little higher than I thought. I am not going to dwell on before I am going to just go forward. I am really glad I found this website, it has really helped get me energized. I am not ready to say what I weigh but I will say I have not seen onederland in a very long time and want to see that a great deal.
I am 35, I have 3 children, a boy 12yo, a boy 9yo, and a girl 7yo. I have been married for 14 years. I work full time as an accountant and I recently started at an online school in hopes of earning an MBA. I live in Florida. I belong to a gym called Circuit Works it is alot like Curves I like it quite a bit but haven't been so good about going in the last 3 weeks but that is going to change on Jan. 3rd when I go back to work.

Hi Trudei! It's day 1 for me too and was hoping to join the group. My name is Kat I'm 35 in Chicago with 2 kids (3 yrs & 10 mo). I work full-time & we just moved in to a new (old) house this fall. We have a lot going on right now but the baby weight from the last little one is just not going away. I think if I don't start making some changes now the scale is just going to creep up and up and up. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone. Have a happy New Year!

Kat & Trudei! Glad you joined us!

Trudei- I also have 3 children, a girl and two boys mine are 10, 8(almost 9), and 7. Good job facing scale, now you know where your starting and can focus on where you want to go!

Kat- That baby weight does seem to want to stay attatched to us sometimes! Yes now is the time to take action!

Amanda- Let's focus girl! You will be in the 170s soon, and I'm heading for the 180's.

Nancy- Keep us updated on how it's going with the kids. I know I definetly could be being better about how healthy my kids eat! My youngest still lives on chicken strips.

Lisa- Are you feeling any better?

Last night after our show, I went out with some friends which was fun. Today I re-committing to to doing what I need to do to accomplish my goal!

TGIF!!

This has become quite a cohesive group. I am going to move this thread out of Buddy Up and into Support Groups. See you there. You can just start a new thread in there for January or add to this one.
