Hi Chaps:

(I live down the NJTurnpike) and can totally relate about the weather....13 inches of rain in 8 days is QUITE enough.....of course the REAL reason it rained like that is because I shampooed the carpeting and it looked like almost NEW....for 5 days..then the dog was ill 3X and the rain started. The dog is like a large wet mop laying all over the rugs...

But the sun is out and it was over 70 today! I opened up the windows and didn't sneeze my head off, so the pollen must be low. Enjoy your jog...do you participate in the marathon? I usually go into the city to watch. Last year we found the best spot at Trump Towers building

Lets hope this good weather holds.....I dread the inflated cost of heating my house this winter..."THEY" say it might cost about $600. more than last year, YIKES!

Day #5 of my Challenge....That Coach-Carla shamed me into doing 20 mins. of cardio/wts....(I swear I hear Jillian in my ears when i'm exercising)

back to work, TTYL,

HI to everyone and congrats to both Carla and Shad!!!

Default Where are they hiding?

Hmmmmm... No sign of Red or Chaps. Could it be they're recovering from an overly-zealous celebration of the completion of another 21-day challenge??? Or are they hiding in shame at messing up on the last day and having to go back to Day 1??? I know what I intend to believe, so here goes:

YAY!! CHAPS AND RED ROCK!!

LET'S HAVE A CELEBRATION

LET'S ALL DRINK TO OUR LEADER AND MIGHTY INSPIRER

LET'S ALL HAVE SOME CAKE AND BUBBLES WITH CHAPS

IT'S TIME TO PARTY HEARTY!!!

So any day now we'll have a new thread!! Like a fresh slate!

Have a lovely rest of the weekend,
C

Default I finished 21 days without chocolate!

Yes, I did it! I think, though, that I will go for at least one more day, because tomorrow is weigh-in day. I'm afraid if I let myself eat a little chocolate, I will end up eating a TON, and that should be *after* the weigh-in, right? HA!

Carla - Thanks for the congrats. Cake? Woo-hoo! I loves me some cake.

Marbleflys - If you're in Jersey, you probably got even worse weather than here! But you see what I meant about not seeing blue sky for more than a week, it's maddening! But yesterday was gor-ge-ous, and today looks to be nice, if windy. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the marathon. The past two years I have been out of town when it occurred, and this year I have an audition on that day. I'm not a big fan of crowds, so I suspect I'll sort of hide from it.

Curly - I'm not sure how to try to console you, but I'll say one thing. Our society places far too much emphasis on the notion of marriage. You are supposed to be married by a certain age, a parent by a certain age, making a certain amount of money by a certain age - it's all B.S. If you are generally a happy person (and from your postings, you seem to be), then that is all that matters. If you find someone to share it with, great. If not, that doesn't mean you are some sort of failure. I hope you continue to feel better and get back on that horse!

Speaking of horses, (like that segue?), how is Redballoon? You must have finished your challenge yesterday, right?

Peace out, y'all!

Red face Just checking in.

I am trying to work in some time to go look at used gazelles, maybe that will help with some of my pain. We have a place around here called Play it Again Sports that sells them second hand. Hopefully I can find one pretty decent shapewise and price wise. lOL!

Hi Everyone. OK I am back. My legs and back are aching today and I am so tired of feeling this way! I have got to lose this weight because I am miserable so I am back to start my 21 day challenge so that I can make healthier habits for myself. I am going to stick to this challenge!!!

1. Eat an apple or another fruit before every meal to curb appetite.
2. Give up Diet Sodas and drink water instead. (I am addicted to Diet Mountain Dew so this will be hard, but I quit smoking five years ago so it can't be any harder than that.)
3. Write down everything that I eat.

I will try to post here every day to show my challenge progress. Tomorrow will be Day 1.

Congratulations to Red Balloon and Chaps who have completed another challenge. Well done.

This is a very worthwhile thread and some lovely motivated people on it. I'll be back asap to go through another 21 days of depravation and denial when I get back from holiday.

Curly - Sorry you had a sad time on you birthday, but sometimes a pity party, time to reflect on the past and the present is really necessary to so you the way of the future. This is still plenty of really interesting things you can do with your life.

Ice - sounds like you were really good at that function. Well done.

Gotta go duty calls. But I am reading the comments round here, even if I am not posting every day. Good luck to all of you for the remainder of your challenges.

Congratulations to those who have completed another challenge! Way to go, girls!

So, I asked to come back and then disappeared again life is so crazy busy right now, I don't even know what to say. But, I've decided on my goals for this challenge:

1. 1500 Calories or less per day.
2. Exercise 4 hours per WEEK.

I know 4 hours isn't much, but that's about 3 1/2 hours more than I'm getting now. I just really need the exercise, if for no other reason than to keep myself motivated.

Today was day 1 and I haven't had dinner yet but I'm only at 850 so far so I should be FINE for dinner. I did go and exercise 45 minutes today. I think I'm going to try to join in the weekly challenge thread, also, since my exercise goal is actually a weekly and not a daily challenge (although I guess I could say that my 21-day goal is to exercise 12 hours).

The good news is that I've officially re-lost the weight I gained when I started pigging out again. I was 198 this morning and I stopped my diet at 199 last time, so now it's all "new" loss again instead of re-losing pounds I'd gained back. That feels good.
