Default I've completed Day #4!

Chaps, I'm sorry to her that you had to be subjected to the *itchy woman syndrome, I'm sure they are just jealous of your willpower....they don't have enough to do? they need to snub you for making different food choices? I hope they all gained 5 lbs. each and are retaining water from all the sodium they consumed!

CURLY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! who is Chai? (a teabag or a dog?) I am envisioning a hairy dashund.....I have a 92 lb. Akita named Sho-gun, with the terrible 13 inches of rain we've had in NJ this month, he is like a large wet mop plopping down on my once clean (for 5 days) carpet.....

CARLA-Curly: NO ASSEMBLY VIDEO???? I will call Mr. Ponytail myself! or maybe someone else has one and could advise you on the easiest way to get the thing together? I've found that going across the street to my friend's house and begging her boyfriend works best....he is like a temporary husband..he's changed locks, pulled out dead shrubs, put up new light fixtures, assembled any wierd thing I purchase (and never laughed at me)...in return I always bring giant shrimp cocktail when I'm invited for dinner and bake him brownies. He's truly a nice guy! He's also an excellent carpenter, stone mason etc and is responsible for the gorgeous renovations I'm working on for the homestead (these are not free of course, but his craftmanship is perfect and I can trust him so I don't have to hang around while he works)

I'm convinced that Coach-Carla is related to that Jillian Michaels from the BL show....she was screaming at me this morning to "lift those knees up, you wimp!!!" as I did my cardio.

I'm working my way up to 56 mins. a day, I wish you were only 30! I did increase the time to 15 mins. this AM and haven't given up yet.

Hi to mez, RB and everyone else....I will return later

It's Groundhog here today, and Day 21 to boot. Needless to say, I am not going to succumb to the open bottle of red plonk in the kitchen. At least not until tomorrow. Even yesterday was less of a bust than a pause day could be. I even ended up turfing most of the not very good truffles, and realized after about 4 tbsps that pistachio halvah has no place in my home. Moral of the story: never drop in to a Middle Eastern supermarket when you're hungry and/or contemplating a pause day. You'll buy lots of bad things, and they probably don't have the Soujouk (sp?) sausage you're looking for anyway.

The Gazelle is close to complete! And I'm pleased to realize it takes up less room than I feared. I haven't used it yet, maybe tomorrow. (Oh-oh. That's how things fell apart with the old rebounder. The thin edge of the wedge, so to speak.) The only part which is not put together is the sort of hinge cover dealies, which it turns out were shipped with the wrong screws. I'm pretty sure my Zellie was a return from someone else, judging by the tattered packaging and the odd inexplicable dent and scratch. Nothing to worry about though.

Curly, if you would like the instructions to the monitor, I can fax or email them to you. Assuming, of course, my scanner works better than the printer. My office is a bit torn up right now, and the printer seems to be sulking... Happy birthday, by the way. I hope you didn't have a head this am from all those bubbles.

Red, this must be your day 21 too? At last! I assume you have quite a rest day planned for tomorrow! Party- hearty.

Marble, I'm appalled you would think I have a single Jillian-like bone in my body. I really can't stand her. (Isn't it wonderful that tv exists, with all those ready-made targets for our dislike!). Now keep those knees up!!!

Hi everyone! I was off the computer yesterday for Yom Kippur (and then wasn't near one last night to check in). Yesterday was day four of keeping under 1500 calories. (1201 on Wednesday; 1498 on Thursday). I can't beleive i didn't go over my limit yesterday, but i put everything in this morning into Fitday and was pleased to see i was just under the limit!

Carla and CurlyLocks - happy birthday to both of you! Have either of you managed to assemble your gazelle yet? I bought a home elliptical machine a couple of years ago and it took DH all day to get the thing together properly. We didn't get an assembly video either.

Shad - CONGRATULATIONS on 21 days!

Oh Carla....so maybe Jillian is your evil cousin? The one who was so thin-hipped her low-rise workout pants are held up with Funtack? You've missed my obession about the poor woman contestant with the weird eyebrows that annoy so many of us in the BL forum?

Shall we finish the red wine you saved? or open a fresh bottle of Shiraz? I can't eat, I'm too nervous about this new really attractive man I've met that seems so interested in me.....gulp!

Smile day 21 here.....

Good morning, all! On the fly here. It's going on 4:30 a.m. Saturday and I have to get a move on it. Trying to get out and see my horse before going in to work. But it IS Day 21. Oh, I'm so glad. Oddly, I haven't lost much weight but I am fitting into clothes a little better. And the food I eat has been good stuff, so even though it's too much to lose much weight, I think I am healthier and more energetic for it. Actually, I don't want to put junk into my body and am hoping that my priorities will have changed a bit. I mean, they had, I used to do no-sugar without a challenge. And the drinking has never been a problem. Though I'm sure the long hours with friends about 2-3x a month weren't helping the overall calorie count. Ok, gotta go, but first, a quick note...

curly, carla, , marble, chaps, mez, anyone else who said heh! Hello!!

carla -- Glad to see you're going to make it through. I hear you on the planned indulgences just not being up to snuff. I've found that too. I think it means we're looking at things in a very different light. It's a good thing, I'm sure.

chaps -- were those other singers at the temple overweight? If so...and even if not..I'd say it's just proof of how good you're looking these days. People are jealous and feel intimidated in their old ways. They want to feel they are justified in being the way they are and your changing shakes this old comfy feeling. I am glad you went off and did your own thing. Time to make new "friends." It's times like these that our true friends are revealed and the good possibility that the people we've been surrounding ourselves with are not friends at all but more just hangers-on, or people who feel comfortable with you because you don't force them to look too closely at themselves. It can mean a lonely time until we find people who truly are supportive of us. I'm sure that slight hurt but it's really a blessing. You don't need fair-weather friends. Be strong!

Morning all, and day 21 has passed comfortably. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I DID IT , I DID IT, I DID IT, I DID IT, I DID IT.

Think that says it all. I'm not starting a new one as such since I go on holiday in 12 days time. I will just try to carry on with the same sort of thing. I seem to have lost 1/2 a kilo but that could be water weight. I'll stick around and post occasionally to cheer you all on though.

Hope all the gazelles are now up and flying. I put an electric fan together the other day. Thank heavens they had pictures and numbers because the words certainly didn't help. And they put the words in so many languages, very few of which bear any resemblance to any language that I speak (which are few, but several dialects - eg. English (I can do good, bad and indifferent - also I speak Australian and New Zealand dialects fluently) I can get by in another couple in a conversational situation but the written word often defeats me and telephone conversations are a no no. Anyway back to the gazelles. I hope they give you the strength and exercise that you need.

Okay, so it is Saturday here. I'm not feeling the greatest, came home from work yesterday with pain in the back and neck (the usual starting places for flu for me) a pounding sinus headache and general lethargy. Didn't go to the Friday night bash for a couple of contractors leaving the project, instead came home and went to bed early. Feel a bit better this morning and will have a go at gym and see how I go with that. Tonight I am supposed to be going to an Oktoberfest night out at a friends place. They came and stole the Weber yesterday to cook pork and other delectables on. (Sorry if that's not in your diet. Just skip this bit) These people are grand hosts and very sociable people - he used to be a chef, she is a foodie from way back. Nothing is particularly calorie controlled and all is delicious and authentic. It should be a fun night, if I make it.

Right on with my day - can't slop around here in my pyjamas drinking coffee and talking to you lot. Have a good day. I'll be back for another challenge on the 9th of November. Good luck to all of you on challenges. I'll spend some time thinking about the next challenge during my time off (ha ha ha ha)

Default Must Restart.

"Psst!" " Lisa didn't do her exercise. I just thought you all should know."

Looks like I'll try again on Sunday. Have some issues I must deal with.

Happy Birthday Shad and Curly!!!
I am still cyber shopping for gifts. LOL! How's a Ferrari sound? In the meantime...

I'll try to still check in and say hello so I don't break the good habit I created by my first challenge.

Make a great day everyone!

Default Day 21 done at last!!!

This may be cheating, but it's after midnight here, so I consider this challenge so very over. And I think now I'll have a glass of wine to celebrate. (Not ready for bed yet.) The best thing is that next round I get 3 pause days, which will make it all so much easier.

Red, I'm thinking of you posting about your success any time now. We did it!!! And I'll start the next round as soon as I'm up to getting exercise. (In a day or two. Right now I seem to tire pretty fast, even tho it's been a whole week since the surgery. I am such a wuss.)

No Gazelle rides yet, although I did climb on for a mo. I do wonder where they get off saying 300 pounds max. That's 100 more than me, and I'm not very bottom heavy, and yet there's not a lot of extra space between my hips and the sides of the machine. And my not-so-fat thighs almost rub together because of the spacing of the foot pedals. What do large, short, pear-shaped users do? My guess would be they send the little devil back.

I hear the call of the wild grape. Sweet dreamsall! And many thanks for all the kind birthday wishes and get well soon pep talks.

Good Morning everyone! Happy Saturday to ya's! I'm off to get ready to hit the yard sales today. I need to find two back up car seats. Wish me luck. I don't want to spend 300.00 on car seats. I already bought the new one which will be his main one but I need another for dh's car and one for the sitter's car so used is the way to go there.

Anyways have an OP day!

Default Yesterday was Day 20!

First of all, thanks to Redballoon and Marbleflys for the supportive words in response to my rant. I think the main problem with those people is that they are all failed singers, who now have full time office jobs, but still think the Metropolitan Opera is going to call them any day now. They get along with you as long as you all agree to be mediocre together. Well, y'know what? I don't agree to that, thanks anyway, and I'm going to do my own thing.

Congratulations to Shad and Carla! You guys ROCK!!

Today has started out WONDERFULLY because it finally was not raining and I was able to go out and jog. I was getting serious cabin fever and really tense about not getting exercise. So much pent up energy makes a girl hostile! And not seeing so much as a streak of blue sky for more than a week was really killing me. Today and tomorrow should make things better.

Have a great weekend all!

Good morning all!

Yesterday was day 5 of my calorie challenge. I was actually at 1560, but since i was so low Mon - Wed, I am going to call it good unless someone else calls foul on me Of course, if i go over today or tomorrow, which I am going to try so hard to not do, I will need to go back to day one.

Friends - good luck on your search for a car seat. if you find one, make sure you inspect it closely for damage.

Alright, i slept in a little, so i am off to make a veggie/egg white omelet and then work out. I can't wait for tomorrow, my sister, neice and i are going hiking on Sugarloaf mountain.
