Hello all....
ready to just kick this computer into next week!

Cleared some temp files and am back to try again!~

Its very overcast today and nearly ch illy compared to what the temps were just a few days ago... DH and I went to the gym and then had a very late breakfast.... tried going to the gym on an empty stomach... not sure that really is a good idea... at one point I felt light headed but not sure if that has anything to do w/ the fact that I was really struggling to get my heart rate up .... Took me the longest time to get w/in 10 heartbeats of what was supposed to get cardio to start burning....

Dh and I did a little internet research this morning regarding personal trainers and fitness instructors and found that there is lots of stuff to sort through...
Lots of "certifcations" available... still not sure which are "professional" vs which are required by jurisdiction......

How is everyone?

I am in the mood to just pick up one corner of the house, get it up on a good tilt and everything that starts to slide, TOSS....

Really am fed up w/ the clutter....

Maybe I should make some tea and grab a trash bag...

!

Hi, all!!! I'm in super not wantin' to work mode again but I need to do so, so hope you'll all forgive me double postin' ... notin' that the discussion here has touched on where do we go from solstice goals, I'm just gonna repost what I posted in my journal today in the land far far away. Won't be over fantasying ya here w' the details of my two-part personal challenge (which I haven't made up yet), will be following it on the journal. Again, we ALL know, that Amarantha be not nuts, she just useth fantasy as an allegorical tool, right?

Too right!

Sorry for the me-me postie and lack o' replies. Hey, do ya mean it ISN'T all about me?

I changed the names here to protect the guilty!

"Having lost the pound they gained the week before, but failed to reach their solstice goal, Maisie 'n (Amarantha) spent the a.m. grimly closeted w' the EDN (Evil Diet Nanny) to assess whether Maisie should go to the Dietary Victorian Boardin' School for corrective action and A should go do Dietetic Community Service in Diet Dilemma Village. EDN, however, was inclined to give the Darin' Diet Duo another chance and they all had an amicable breakfast and went into Diet Town to sign up for U.S. Independence Day Diet Festival events, aka the FIRECRACKER CHALLENGE, by invitation only!!!

And WHAT an excitin' festival it will be!!! EDN signed up for the baking contest! The challenge: To perfect her recipe (she doesn't have one but anyhow, she's gonna perfect it) for homemade stone ground whole wheat tortillas with NO freakin' sugar or cornstarch in 'em by July 3 (so that A can take some w' her to work on the 4th, since it's a workday for A)!

Maisie 'n (Amarantha) signed up for TWO events: The Six-Day Sojourn to Saturday, June 25! Rules for that challenge will be posted in the center of town (translation: I'll post 'em separately), as well as the Seven-Days To Independence Sunday Sprint, which will be posted following the SATURDAY, June 25 public weigh-in in the Diet Town Square, but invitation only.

A 'n Maisie have a special wedding to attend that Saturday, so they feel the Saturday weigh-in next week will be a perfect send-off on that!

ATTN, EARTHLINGS: At all times, the PRIME DIRECTIVE (low gi rules, no refined sugar, no white flour, no etc.) ARE IN FORCE on your Diet Planet. There WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS (except maybe a tiny slice o' weddin' cake on Saturday, should the choice be not to offend anyone). REMEMBER, we of the International Galactic Lower GI Dietary Force WILL BE WATCHING. EDN is our agent and has full interplanetary authority to PUNISH any PRIME DIRECTIVE infractions to the fullest extent of galactic law (WE CALL HER 'THE PUNISHER' HERE ON ALIEN LOW GI PLANET NUMERO UNO! Be afraid, be VERY afraid )

Have a lovely festival, Earthlings!

Thanks, Amarantha! You look all psyched up yourself.
We just had dinner at the Indian restaurant for father's day and I was very careful with my selections and portions. Always too salty, in any case.

Aria, I AM a bit psyched!!! Or psycho!!!!

Frankly, the life o' Maisie 'n Amarantha/Athletea is somewhat more colorful than mine own! In reality I didn't go anywhere at all today ... wrote stories for work, have more left over to do than I'd like but can live with that.

The house is starting to get hot ... I only have AC in two rooms, mostly for the sake o' the pets as it doesn't matter much to me ... fans everywhere else (it's an old house and the cooler hasn't worked for years ... so I had several servings of a fruit sorbet I make with just unsweetened frozen low GI fruit whirred in the magic blender with ... might have been a bit too much for my blood sugar ... anyhow my cals were good ... details on journal!

The Indian food sounds good and it sounds as though you did a good job o' handlin' it challenge wise!!!

Kaylets, I am also fed up with the clutter in my house.

To all, mentioned 'n unmentioned, good night!

Hello all!

A Firecracker Challenge sounds great-- short, doable and fun.....

Woke up sore and grumpy but since I have next week booked off for vacation, I need to clear, clear, clear the desk....

Am still pysched about the idea of getting into the physical fitness industry....
Am hoping that next week I can do some real research and get some salary ideas....

Speaking of salaries, Frogger, I'd be glad to swap a boring, nothing to do job of $45,000/yr.... I realize cost of living and etc is a factor but it would be handy to have spare time to do some thinking for a book or blog....

Time to pack the lunches....

KETTLE IS ON!

Morning ladies!

What a day I've had already! Sat on the commuter train for 3 hours this morning. Guess what, govt. boss is out on leave today (didn't bother telling me or I would have stayed home!!). So I'm blowing this pop stand and leaving at lunchtime. Nothing like a 3 hour workday!!

Another note, our home equity line people have frozen our account. DH wrote a check to pay off a bill and they deemed it not quite his signature (even though he signs the same way on everything. I've never seen a more consistant signature in my life!) So now we are trying to get them to open the dag gone thing back up. No one is calling us back!!!!

Well, I've got to grab some coffee and something to snack on. Have a great day ladies!

And no...still no word from my money grubbing friend...

Do we wanna post a short thread on Wednesday just for the 4th, then move on to another one?

Froggie, hope ya have a great day after ya blow the popstand. Weird about them freezing your equity line ... red tape is a pain!

Aria, TWO MORE DAYS, TWO MORE DAY!!! Hooray!! You are doin' so good!

No time to even scan but I miss my Royal Cohort.

DH in Intensive Care for twelfth day. Heading back in shortly. DS with him now. Critical but stable.

Hello everyone!
LAST DAY ~ 1400 calories and 50 minutes walking

I did peak at the scale this morning and am still at 156 lbs, so I have maintained my loss for the week.
So, one thing I did accomplish for sure is that I got back into shape with all this walking and it feels great!
If I keep this up, I will lose more weight soon!

Morning Glories!!

Forgot to weigh in this morning, so I'll post when I get home. Running late as usual!! But I just have to get one more kiss and hug from Sydney. I love when she wakes up in the morning, she's so lovey

Heard from my friend FINALLY!!! He has rotten luck. Whilst moving his junk from storage to his new place, he got pulled over for speeding. He had 4 unpaid parking tickets and they had suspended his license. They hauled him off to jail on the spot. So his mother came and bailed him out, so that's where he has been. I feel horrible for him.

Flybye as I'm negatively obsessing with some things right now ... including but not limited to a part of a piece of CAKE (NOT low glycemic) I ate ... didn't eat much of it but it's a violation of my prime directive, brought on by using glucose tablets this week, I'm sure ... although the tabs were necessary, will post re that on journal, except that forum is down, apparently.

Anagramatic, so glad that dh is stable but sorry he's been in ICU so long and is "critical" ... you take care ... thinking of you!

Aria, FANTASTIC job on your countdown to summer ... and on maintainin' the number on the scale whilst gettin' fitter 'n fitter!!! Dost thou have any plans for a great new challenge?

Frogger, thy lil tadpole soundeth cute. Don't blame ya for going back for a second hug.

s, it's the Solstice ... so let's all report, report, report on how we did on the challenge ... and decide if we want a new thread!!!
