Mornin' all. Am doing stairs a little easier now...and since the computer is 2 flights from the bedroom, I don't do it too often.

Empress A! You don't need to leave us. Just put your imperial nose in the air and walk away from whatever thread/"people" are baiting you. Join the rest of us....our noses are high and we just don't care what anyone else sez....except our royal personages that is. I like to think mine is high to keep my glasses up on my nose. :s:

I am with you Frogger....disgusted that is. However, since I am incapacitated at the moment for exercising I'm happy with no-gains. Walking is a chore still...that incision with its' "pooch" above hurts by nightfall.
I'm trying something today...wearing underwear more :o rather than just a night gown...now that is mind boogling. Actually I'm trying to be dressed more....I wonder if the clothes will help support the pooch.

Eydie, how's the BFL?
Anagram how're ya? (((HUGS)))
Glad you're doin' better Ivanna. It will take a while.
Aria, congrats on the exempliary execise and food day!
 to wsw, Wildfire (back at work :headache: ), Arabella (lost somewhere), Kaylets

Well, gotta mosey....maye wash a dish...if it isn't too heavy

Hi, all! I'm here ... it's just that whenever I get on 3FC, I tend to go wanderin' in the hinterland o' controversy and can't stop meself from answerin' back when folks get nasty! :)

Like I say, I need a life, but will be here! :)

aria2000 06-07-2005 10:36 AM

:) Oh good!

DTimpma 06-07-2005 11:00 AM

Aria - so what is the addy for the website for Van Cliburn? I can do a search. Are you a singer? I play the Royal Clavier!

Our son is doing the Second Kraft Timpani Concerto with the San Francsico Symphony - 7 concerts have been sold out for 6 months. (Also Beethoven 9th on the program) Seems like all of Boston will be staying with us (family is from Boston) in the next two weeks. I wish I had lost this weight! I want our son to be proud of his mother! Oh well, too late now - but I have been "clean eating" for the past week, in spite of the passing of the Royal Dog! I take it as my personal challenge to continue my clean eating through the orgy of parties and restaurant meals.

Check Sfsymphony.org

Much love,
Ivanna B. Svelte

Amarantha2 06-07-2005 11:49 AM

Test! Sorry :queen: s, I just changed something and need to test.

Huzzah!

aria2000 06-07-2005 12:27 PM

DTimpma, I believe it is http://www.cliburn.org
But now the competition is over, so if you want to hear anything it would not be free. They do have an interesting blog covering the events though that is truly dramatic, lol.
Congratulations on your son's success! Did you have him take piano lessons when he was younger?

Amarantha2 06-07-2005 01:32 PM

Just a flybye to report on my new challenge, inspired by Aria's countdown to summer (posted on her journal) ... hi, Aria!

Here's what I posted in my journal (and now I MUST go to work):

Inspired by Aria's countdown to summer (and somewhat by my outta control cal count and lack of exercise motivation even WITH paying a personal trainer), I'm starting a 12-DAY COUNTDOWN TO MY SOLSTICE GOAL!!! For these 12 days I will eat no more than 2000 cals (tops, plan to be lower, though) and DO A WORKOUT OF SOME KIND each and every day. The penance yard work doesn't count! (Except I haven't been doing that either as the weeds haven't grown back yet) ...

Day 1: Cals ?, Workout: ?, Day of My No Sugar Existence: 141!

Aria, let's do 'er!!!! Anyone else wantin' to kick some summer solstice, er name of anatomy part delicately deleted, please post a countdown!!! Sis boom bah ...

aria2000 06-07-2005 03:18 PM

YESSS!

DTimpma 06-07-2005 07:50 PM

YES! I will join in a major "DO" - I will break 180 by the Solstice - Hey, isn't it June 21? That's like 14 days! Right?

Ivanna

Oh yes, my son did do piano! Big time! As a matter of fact, he didn't have a private drum lesson until college. I thought drums would help his piano playing - see where that ended up?

Ivanna

Amarantha2 06-07-2005 11:50 PM

Yay, Ivanna!!! Thanks for joinin' the countdown!!!! And, yes, it's 14 days, but since I weigh in on Sunday, I'm doing my countdown to June 19 and that will be my challenge weight. My goal is 140 ... used to be 135 but life happens! :)

12-Day Countdown, Day 1: Cals 1870, Workout: 20-minute walk (could be better); Day of My No Sugar Existence: 141!

Kaylets 06-08-2005 05:46 AM

HEllo all!

Empress--- Ceara's advice is the best....don't let them take you there... sometimes, just like anywhere else, the best response is NONE....show them w/ your feet......

Ceara--- Glad you made it to the computer to say hello....You are wise to tread lightly and only do what you feel able...And yes, its amazing what the priorities become ( nightgown vs underwear)......
Healing vibes being sent your way!

Anagram! How goes DH? Healing vibes your way too! Hope you are finding time on the royal patio.... or is the patio too warm most of the day now????

Just returned the Body for Life for Women book back to the library.... found the body shape shift VERY interesting and explains much of what I experienced..... and again, realize much of my shame of my overweight shape was in large part, physical..... ( the middle age spread )......
Who would've thought a woman's pot belly becomes the 'menopot' once you enter peri, pre, whatever menopause.....

To everyone, big hugs...

Timp and Aria... the piano competition sounds so interesting!
And not to worry about when you began your weight loss journey....what is key is that you BEGAN!!!!!

Ivanna-- (((((((((((((Big Hug)))))))))))))))) -- This is a hard thing ... you'll never forget him!

Frogger! Keep smiling! I have a feeling you are on the verge of something that will keep you very mentally challenged.... and at least you know if the young Princess keeps you up at night, you can still do your job even with your eyes closed!! :)!

Eydie--- you will be followed nearly anywhere! How is your Dad? Sending healing vibes your way too!

Question of the day:

" Do you know where your flashlight is?"

**********

Take care all.....

I too am reassessing and regrouping....
Am starting to wonder if the lack of response regarding my interest in WW's leadership might be really an advantage... perhaps I would do better on the activity side of the fitness world... Who would you rather ask for help at the gym... a youngster who never struggled w/ their weight or someone who shows some life experience who can honestly say they have struggled????

Hmmmmm.....

KETTLE IS ON!

deleted2 06-08-2005 06:34 AM

Frogger, I don't think that I ever commented on your last pics. I LOVE Sydney's little pig-tails! Classic little girl! Can we see more?

Keep getting better, Ceara!

My dad's feeling better--think he may be on the mend. Still stubborn as ever; he doesn't realize that he's not able to do the things he used to do but he does them anyway. What can you do? Just worry, I guess! And love the old coot!

I'm on Day 3 of Body For life. I've started a journal kinda thing in Misc. Clubs--same page we're on. Come and visit please! Amarantha's already checked in.

Work beckons... later!

aria2000 06-08-2005 08:26 AM

June 8, 2005

Weight: 157
Average for this week: 1943 calories :fr: and 41 minutes walking

17 DAYS WAKE-UP COUNTDOWN TO SUMMER
Day 14 ~ 1550 calories and 30 minutes walking

DTimpma ~ That is quite a story! Did he enter college on a music scholarship?

Have a great day everyone! :cb:

Amarantha2 06-08-2005 08:48 AM

You are right, :queen: K, re not respondin' to posters that aren't very polite (e.g. designating other posters not in agreement ... me ... hypocrites ... which is what got to me) ... again, I have too much time on my hands apparently as I sit here and read these silly people's posts and respond when it doesn't really matter to me what they think ... I thought if I didn't come back to 3FC I would be able to refrain from doin' that but why worry about it ... I deleted all my posts on the offending (to me) thread.

Eydie, I am glad your dad's better. Glad also you posted your BFL thread. I will be lurkin' 'n cheerin' you on and may even join ya sometime. Mentally, I'm already with thee with the 12-day countdown to solstice goal ... inspired by Aria's countdown and now Ivanna is doing a countdown ... so we're all kinda making a big effort here to use our time wisely as we move to summer (well, actually in Arizona it's been summer for some time, but then there's a LOT of summer to go ... say to November  ... ).

Kaylets, I think you would make an excellent personal trainer or maybe an instructor at a gym. Actually, though, it doesn't matter to me whether someone has had weight loss experiences or not (it would matter if they were not doing anything about a current lack of fitness, though, because people need to practice what they preach, IMO) ... the trainer I use, although not through the gym anymore, is way young and never had a weight problem, but her knowledge, education and motivating personality really benefit me and I follow her advice (more or less).

Ceara, thanks for your sage advice!!! Glad you are recovering from the surgery and hope it's totally complete sooner rather than later ... you crack me up about the underwear ... don't know if that refers to your surgery or not but I hate to wear the stuff even if I haven't had an operation!

Aria, Froggie, Anagramatic, Arabella, Wsw, Wildfire, Ivanna and all :queen: s mentioned and unmentioned ...

Again, ARE WE READY TO KICK SOME SUMMER SOLSTICE GOALS IN THE (ANATOMICAL TERM DELETED)?

Yes, we are.
