Kaylets-CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
QOD: I'm pretty liberal when it comes to plastic surgery. If it's going to make you feel better about yourself, I don't see a problem with it. As long as you're not getting like 20 surgeries to keep feeling better. I think after I'm done having kids I'll have me a boobie lift (gravity has NEVER been kind in this area even before Sydney) and a tummy tuck. Guess I better start saving!!! Nothing new shakin' here. I've got a stopped up ear. I cannot hear a dag gone thing out of it. Maybe sinus related, who knows. I do know it's driving me bonkers! :dizzy: I continue to try to avoid my coworker. But he made his fiance send me an apologetic email to which I responded to her very nicely that I will continue to hold my front and wish her all the best. He however, continues to follow me around like a puppy dog. Guess it doesn't matter if I ignore him or not. He doesn't seem to care. Am looking for a better job. SERIOUSLY thinking about working from home. Just need to find a job that will let me do that. Anything would be better than sitting here on my rump day after day doing absoulutly nothing. |
Oh! I forgot to congratulate Kaylets on her new lifetime status!
GREAT JOB, KAYLETS!!! |
Mornin' one and all!
Amarantha, I'm not sure how I'd take what the receptionist said either! "Obsessed" isn't usually a compliment... Yeah, I'd avoid her for awhile. Anagram, it's the mental health days that I miss the most working for the family biz. When I had a "normal" job I could call in "sick" and take a mental health day and no one would be the wiser. Now? Impossible, unless I ask for it a few times. Enjoy your lunch today, maybe a glass o' vino and a lot of deep breaths. Kaylets, yup, my mum had CP/trigger thumb surgery a few months ago. I was leery because I'd heard there was a high reoccurance rate, but apparently they're doing things differently now and it's gotten to where it doesn't come back like it used to. She had about a week where she couldn't use it AT ALL, then after about 5 days they wanted her to start flexing her fingers and within a couple weeks start light lifting. She's back to 100% now and can't wait to get the other hand done. They wanted her to do both at the same time, but at the time there was no way she could rely totally on my stepfather for everything, so she had to just do the one. Hope that info helps! Oh, and they should be able to do the surgery with a block, not under general anesthesia. All this talk about cars had me laughing. Since I've moved to OR I haven't owned a car long enough to pay it off - or for the warranty to even expire! I traded in one in '03 and am about to trade in the one I've got! I'm just so DONE with the service department at my dealership and since my car's under warranty for a loooong time still I just don't want to deal with it. So, I'm going to start looking soon at the Hyundai Santa Fe or Tuscon. It's the same dealership that sold my mom her new car (Dodge Magnum w/ a hemi - vrooooom!!!!) and I was thrilled with their customer service, etc. Q o' the day - I'd consider a tummy tuck. Other than that I'll age gracefully, thank you very much. I see little lines now and I see them just as proof of the life I've lived so far. Well, must away to work. Later gators! Terri |
Empress A - I, Anagramatic, am forwarding a slightly used "Mental Health Card" to thee. This will entitle you to an afternoon of novel reading without guilt on your part or that of Lazy Maisie. This comes under the royal heading of being good to oneself when one's frame of mind calls for same.
I, for one, feel MUCH better after my four hour plus lunch w/friend. Need to do more (but somewhat shorter!). I don't think I'll discuss calories though. |
Good hunting, Frogger! I was able to bring a part of my job "home' and worked part time until my second child was a year old. Not always as easy as it sounds but well worth it when you can work it out. People don't always understand you're "working" even though you're home - maybe Sydney most of all - but it would be great to be there with her and to be able to scootch your work around her needs too.
I think for years I underrated Mental Health Days and, like most of us, didn't realize how much tough old me needed them. Sometimes it has to be Mental Health Moments but whatever can be managed. Re CT - when my Mom had hers years and years ago, it wasn't too great and she never went for her second. However a friend had hers done last Friday and was back at work on Monday. She's SO happy she had it done. Was emailing me Saturday with her hand hugely bandaged! Still had a little thumb numbness but figured that wouldn't take long. Just so happy the PAIN was gone. So glad your Mom's went well, Punkin. Still, I think having both done at the same time would be rugged..... |
Maisie 'n Me be thankin' thee, Anagramatic, for the Mental Health/No Guilt Card!!! :cb: We did take a nap, but didn't get any novel reading done ... almost time to go to work, but will save half the "card" until tomorrow. Or can we get a full renewal!? :)
Frogger, I also do a lot of my job at home (about half the writing) ... it can, as Anagramatic saith, have its problems ... sometimes it's harder to get motivated when within sight o' the couch ... I also would like to make my home a sanctuary and I can't do that when I dislike my work so much and it's always here. My yard's lookin' better, though! |
Oh, I'd say a full renewal, Empress! Lots of other benefits to be customized as needed too. I'm sort of still on my MHD - can't seem to get back to routine after all that time/talking. Phew! I think I must have really need it.
|
I say, "repair anything that droops" and I most certainly will have a tummy tuck when I get the weight off! I am COUNTING on it!
Much love to all, Ivanna B. Svelte |
Oh, Ivanna, I'd be under the knife forever to repair all of my "droops".
|
Thanks, Anagramatic!! I'll take the full renewal!!! :cb:
Got up early today to work on stories and find that I wanna go shoppin' for a bougainvillea to put in my yard, since I'm now my own yard guy!!!! :) Sorta into this and that's so enlightening ... that I started with a negative (penance for car payment) and it's turned out to be fun! Ever since I've lived here (except the first year) I've paid people to do half-a@@ work out there and lo I can do a better job than they can ... except I am in a bout of a-fib right now, so need to pace myself as I have another late meeting tonight ... was very a-fib during the school board ... but don't really think it was yard work related ... will see doc if not abated soon. (Dinna worrit, :queen: s, have had all my life ... Dinna feel like the Lone Rangerette, Anagramatic, I've got more droops than a ... well, I'd have to think of an apt description ... what droops? A rose past it's prime? Nah, mayhap me prime's just startin' ... who can say? |
THREE HOURS o' the "penance" today! Maisie's minutes are all done (we count the penance as exercise)!!! She's in the south o' France and I am restin' up for work tonight.
My nice neighbors came over and offered to help (I think, they don't speak English, we generally talk through their little grandkid) ... I had paid the older man to do the yard a couple of times after he'd offered (I think) to do it just to help me out ... he's a phenomenal worker so my efforts don't look as good, but oh well ... I tried to explain to the little girl that I didn't want any help and about redressing the balance for incurring a car payment and feeling angry at myself in general since the accident (which they know all about as they were pounding on my door within an hour or two afterwards to see if I was ok or needed help ... they are amazing neighbors). She explained it to her mom (or maybe grandma, not really sure) who looked dubious and then started to pull weeds near our mutual fence and kind of watched me work ... then she went in the shed and got a rake to give me (I know how to weedeat, but never think about rakin' it up, hey, who knew?) ... s'ok, she said! :) Anyhow, I bought a bougainvillea and planted it (it will die, trust me) and two lawn flamincoes (sp?) ... that's it for today! |
:)
|
Just as long as our smiles don't droop, Empress.
Congrats on combining penance and exercise - a real two for one bargain - and for getting Maisie freed up to go to the south of France. |
Hi, Aria 'n Anagramatic, it's Amarantha ... together we have cornered the market on A's here in 3FC, methinks.
I am rather smiley today, Anagramatic!!! :) Except I have to go to work a meeting soon ... The penance bougainvillea is now under a canopy made from old rugs as the afternoon sun would fry it else ... I am determined to make this guy live and prosper despite the Death Valley conditions in my yard at 4 p.m. on a May afternoon! Ok, going to work. I am overpostin' today ... was reading South Beach phase II again (it's almost identical to Sugar Busters) realizing that I don't identify so much with Sugar Busters anymore, even though I follow it, feelin' more like I just do no sugar, low glycemic ... lovin' the recipes in South Beach ... going to investigate their website ... if Sugar Busters only had more online support ... Missing a few :queen: s today! |
Hello all!
For the life of me, I cannot figure out why I keep saying Carpel Tunnell.... DH probably needs rotor cuff surgery ... I have called it Carpel Tunnell dozens of places.... no idea why I keep doing that..... Frogger..... Hang tough....Try not quit till you find a replacement....its really true that its harder to find a job when you don't have one.... plus its very mentally draining.... and as for the coworker.... I feel very sorry for his "fiancee".... Glad the Empress and the Anagram are enjoying time for mental health.... I continue to try and squeeze a few moments on the bus to articles I enjoy but its not always an option or enough..... QOD for me... plastic surgery..... I dunno.... I am a skeptic...and cheap.... *************** . Thought of the day : "Do something. If it doesn't work, do something else. No idea is too crazy." --Jim Hightower Question of the day : " What meal or single food will fill you no matter how "starved" you feel?" *********** Apprentice is on so I am off.... Take care all... Kettle is on! |
