Hi PIC's!

I just got back from curves. I had a good workout today.

Curly your place sounds very similar. I wish they would sometimes put the weight up on our machines but I don't think they're adjustable. I love curves but the workouts are becoming almost easy for me!

Dee I can't believe you're stuck! How fustrating! Good luck getting out! I'll be thinking about you!

Curly I had a very bad experience with Bally's. I joined about 10 years ago and went everyday for about 2 weeks when I found out my location was closing. They knew full well that this location was closing but they never bothered to tell me when they signed me up for a 2 year contract! I had been riding my bike to the club and then they were telling me that I had to go 10 miles away. I just couldn't do it.

So after tricking me into joining they wouldnt' let me out of the contract and I ened up going into collections because of it. I wasn't going to pay for a club that I wasn't able to use! I ended up getting a bad credit report because of them!

I just got the feeling that they didnt' care at all about my health.. they just took my money and ran.

Curly..... I tried your link about the DH channel and I didn't get to any sign up page. I'll try later.

Iwmonn.....Hope you get out GF!!! The weather must just wreak havoc...rain, wash outs and mud slides!!!

Valerie......I know of a few people that have been burned with memberships and then the gym closing. Sounds like a pretty mean thing to do. I mean, they most times know about a closing (well the owner, mngr) more than 2 weeks into it.

I'm in the process of highlighting my hair.....doing ds also. His is so easy, nice and short but mine has alot of wave to it. We'll see. I wanted a fresh new look .....almost 30 lbs lost.....inlaws coming and they haven't seen me for 1 yr......new clothes and a NEW YEAR!!! Wait till dh comes home...
hehe .....who knows what will happen then!!! I finally made it to the gym today....woohooo , to quote a famous singer..."IT FEELS GOOD" Hope everyone is OP for the day.

I think the point of my slow burn is to build muscle faster.

The nuts were a big hit. I think they will be an annual event

You guys are not going to believe this. I went to pick Kobe up this afternoon and while I"m waiting for them to get my $800 bill together I'm looking at the bulletin board they have in the office and I see this flyer about a dog food recall. This brand of dog food has been contaminated with a fungus that makes a toxin that causes liver failure. There have even been fatalities reported. Guess what brand of dogfood Kobe eats? Remember he got sick a couple weeks ago too? I bought a new bag of dogfood right before that weekend and this recall just came out. Unfortunately, I've already thrown the bag out so I can't check the lot number but I'd bet you that is what has been making him sick and why Buddy hasn't gotten sick. Buddy eats a different brand because he has bad allergies. Now I have to dispose of all this dog food and clean out the container I keep it in before I get new stuff for him. He's on chicken and rice for a few days anyway. Good thing I found out before I started feeding it to him again. Unbelievable! I could have killed my dog accidentally.

Can you imagine the lawsuits over the dogs that died? I'm just grateful Kobe looks like he is going to be okay. He's not himself yet but definately a big improvement. The chicken and rice is staying down, although you should see Buddy's face when I serve chicken and rice to Kobe and he gets his usual dog food. It's priceless!

omg!!!! That is CRAZY!!! Now why wouldn't you have heard anything in the news, flyer recall notices at the grocery store by the petfood, tv ....anything?
Kobe is a very lucky dog!!! The boys old busdriver told me one time that he bought a bag of dog food at a flea market (really cheap) and then 3 days later his St. Bernard dog died!!! This is more common than we think, he was heart broken. Lamb and rice is very mild for his tummy....poor thing, hope he starts to feel like his old self soon!!

Food Journal Dec 28th:
Breakfast......toasted sandwich, cheese slice, 3 pc turkey bacon, coffee
Snack......protein shake (carb countdown, powder, strawberries)
Lunch......high fibre tortilla wrap, egg salad, lettuce, south beach granola bar
Snack.......soy crisps, 1T ff cream cheese, tangerine
Dinner......ham, cheese sandwich, ff pudding
Snack....(very snack-y).....1/2 C cereal,added fibre one, carb countdown milk

Total calories......1308 36%carb/33%protein/29%fat
gym workout....... 25 minutes weight training/45 minutes treadmill

Hello all my name is Gwena. Valerie Joy is my friend and invited me to be a partner in crime. I'm 33 years old, married with two young daughters. I go to school full time and work part time in the college book store.

I've failed at diets in the past mostly because I obsess about food, and I think that I have to starve myself to lose weight. So this time I'm going to use fit day and some supportive friends (you lovely people) to get my butt in gear.

If you have any questions or recommendations feel free to ask.

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I had originally planned on doing the WW points, but I obsess about food as it is and I don't want to go overboard. I'm just going to make wise food choices and track my intake on fitday.

My oldest daughter is 7 going on 17 and there's never a dull moment around here.

Hi Gwena! good to see you here I think using fitday is great because it holds you accountable for what you're eating! I've gotten some great ideas and support from my friend here. I don't know if I would have made it this far without this site!

BTW with this group you get one flashing flower for every 5 pounds lost *points to all my flowers*
