Kerry-Hope you're feeling better now.
Julie-Sorry about your crappy night. You can vent to us anytime. Well, I woke up feeling so good today. I've stayed within my points and still have 8 left. Southbeach is a quicker weight loss, but WW is a lot easier and more fun. I've decided not to go to OA. I'm going to a step aerobics class instead at 6:45. I love those! Believe it or not, I just got a phone call from someone I haven't talked to in a while. He was asking me out. I said no, but it still made me feel good that someone was interested. He's not really my type though.....a little goofy. I'm probably a little goofy too, though, lol. Hope you all have a great day! |
Quick like a bunny
I've taken a few minutes each day to check the thread, but haven't had time to post. The office move has made this Chaos Central, and I've been too frazzled to do anything at home but space out. I had a great time at the baseball game Tuesday evening, although I did not eat like a woman on a mission. Lots of walking and going to Curves, only one 'perfect' day so far this week (today's already not a winner). In a couple opf weeks I have a follow up interview for a job I think I really want, so I'm very excited about that! I am weary of listening to myself gripe about everything.
I have lots of thoughts about your posts, but will have to do personals over the weekend. Keep making good choices--judy |
This will have to be quick, CSI season finally tonight!
Kim, I'm glad your doing better today, I was worried when I read your post, girl you've got to stop being so hard on yourself. WE ALL FALL DOWN! Pat yourself on the back for springing back into action and forget the down part! Julie, maybe I should run to Cranberry too, I forgot about that! Everyone at work was going crazy the next day calling home to check their tickets, man was it funny! I didn't play on that one, so I found it more amusing than the ones who were checking their tickets! Judy, glad your still hangning out, I hope you get the new job! At least I think that's what were hoping for, right? Well I know this is right, I hope the move starts to get better!!! We'll be glad to chat over the weekend when you have an inch on sanity left. Kerry, oh the dreaded head ache and tummy ache, I don't know how you didn't call off work!!!! I keep a spare bottle of advil in my desk at work, my DH is great for putting empty bottles back! Ok, I'm going to run, 10 mins to get lunches packed, I think I can do it!!!! At least tomorrow is FRIDAY!!! Love those weekends! |
Happy Friday!
Good morning :coffee:
It's rainy yucky morning here. They say it will clear by noon so I hope I can get my afternoon walk in today! Not too much going on here. No more rants today  Judy- I hope you get the new job! Kim- good job going to step aerobics and staying within your points! Don't feel bad about losing weight a little slower...you are more likley to keep it off the slower you lose! Way to go :bravo: Kerry- How is your hangover? Lori- I missed CSI last night...I heard it was suppose to be a good one! I already got lottery tickets last night...in cranberry  my office pitched in so we have 45 chances...maybe next time I talk to you guys I will be a millionaire  Have a great weekend! :D |
I slept it off!
Went home early yesterday and napped a bit and then woke up for dinner and the finales for OC & CSI. Both were great! :)
I ate just awful yesterday trying to nurse my headache, but I don't care, I got to feeling better in the end. I am SOOO glad it is Friday! We're really busy here so I don't have much time, but I wanted to say hello and that I am feeling better. I'll check in later. :) |
I just love FRIDAYS!!!
Well I just had a very slow boring afternoon at work, sometimes that is way worse than being busy! I made myself a cup of coffee and put on my work out outfit to stay in the mood! My mother, I could ring her neck! If I get like that when I get older just shoot me now and put my family out of their missery!!!!! I know I hate waiting on other people to help me, but I understand that everyone else works and is busy too. Not my mom, she wants everything done yesterday, drop what your doing I made plans so come help me right now! Or says she wants help Friday and then calls 10 times to remind me I have to help!!!! I'm not sure if it is really to remind me, or so she dosen't forget herself! I'm seriously dreading her retirement this year, she'll have all the time in the world to think about moving her furniture around. Good thing I started lifting!!! I have to tell you this, it was just to cute. Our school give certificates out for free meals at Ponderosa for perfect attendance every 9 weeks. Well the kids have them and are dying to go. Last night my youngest son said he would like to go so that I could eat. What do you mean by so I could eat? My oldest son almost fell over, he said did ever see what mom puts in her lunch? It's more than you or I could eat for a week! I guess he might get that impression coz I don't always eat what they are eating, but too funny anyway! Kerry, glad the hang over is all better! I seriously feel for ya, the last time I hugged the porcalin god was one to many times for me! Julie, wasn't it a crappy day!!!! Hope that Cranberry ticket pays off, oh we forgot to mention the Hawaii trip. When Kerry was on a roll with her job and I can't remember what all else, we made her buy a lottery ticket and promise to take us all to Hawaii for a week if she hit! So if you hit be prepaired!!! :D I'm going to pick up a ticket myself too so that will have to go for me too! The worst part of the joke Julie is that I've never flown before in my life, so I was going to leave a month early to drive cross country then get on a boat!!!! Ok, enough about all us chicks taking over Hawaii  ! I'm going to work out! Chat with you all later!! |
Hi everyone, It's weekend and I love it. Work was busy as I tried to fit all the work from my days off days into the couple that I did work. So there was no posting for a while. I've stayed mostly on track and haven't been hungry. Exercise is still way off but then again, my asthma is so bad at the moment, I don't think I could exercise if I wanted to. With all the meds I take, one would think it would be better under control. But spring allergens make it worse.
We're going to open our pool this weekend. DH put the solar heaters up and started filtering it. But we still have the winter tarp on it so that has to come off. Once it does, I get to maintain the pool over the summer (my pool, my job). I love to vacuum it out in the sun. It's so peaceful surrounded by mountains. Anyways, maybe summer really will come to Oregon. The craft room is coming along nicely. The walls are all painted and DH and I started to take the big kitchen counter that was just replaced and put it in there for a big working space. It is going to be so cool. Judy, good luck with getting the new job. My fingers are crossed for you. Lori and Julie, what's the big deal with getting tickets in Cranberry? My two friends at work and I buy one ticket that we'd split any winnings. So far we've matched one number as our best ticket. I'm not holding my breath, but if I do win a third, you guys can plan on Hawaii. I definitely like that plan. Kerry, it is so cool that you are happy with your body. Great job. I definitely am not at that point, but I do remember what it's like and its a nice feeling. Kim, I hope you enjoyed your step aerobics class. I can understand your reluctance to go to OA. I'm not into the group thing and it takes time. My support group is you ladies here. That's it for now. I'll talk with you later. Marie |
Greetings Chickies!!
I am feeling more like my old self after sleeping FOREVER! Marie - I too have been seriously drugged with asthma/allergy meds and I think it might contribute to some of my energy levels waning considerably. I think this may be my worse allergy season in years. :( I'm dying for my health insurance to begin on June 1 so that I can afford a nasal spray. I'm hoping that will make a huge difference.
I am happy to report that after TOM has departed I saw a 2 lb loss this morning! I thought that might be the case since I was SO bloated waiting and waiting for it to show. (we need an eye roll smiley here) During those brief moments I always hope a little that she won't show for another 10 months or so ;) but alas that is not the case. I'm happy with a couple more lbs gone and hopeful that my time for growing a big belly is approaching. :) We had a low key Friday. DH bought new shoes which made him really happy. He's like a little kid with his new kicks. And he got a deal so he got 2 pair for $60. I keep telling him that someday he won't be able to wear sneakers all the time and he just scoffs at me. Me with all my heals looks at him and says - time will tell buddy! :p I love that guy, but I worry when reality sets in for him how he'll handle it. But in the meantime he has two years of school left. We're hoping to go see the final Star Wars this weekend if we can get tickets and get in. Maybe tonight. Other than that it is bright and :sunny: here all weekend so I'll be lounging in the sun working on my tan. Filling my skin with color makes me feel thinner. Don't ask me why, but it always has. It also contributes to me feeling better about myself. I hope you ladies up there are having some better weather and WAY over there as well. Spring has turned to summer mostly here with temps nearing 80 most days. We're thankful when it dips into the low 70s. Oh the joys of the south (another eye roll). Judy - I want to wish you all the luck and :goodvibes in the world for getting that job. I have everything crossed for you to get the GREAT call that changes everything ;) I hope you girls hit the lottery since I can't afford tickets to Hawaii. We're still planning a vacation but probably not that far. Possibly a cruise (anyone done that here?) or just a trip to Miami to party a bit before we start ttc again and get back to school in the fall. Well that's all for now. :blah: I'll be back to check in on you ladies. I hope your enjoying your weekend! :) |
Good afternoon chickies,
It's sunny and beautiful out, but I'm inside browsing my options. DH mentioned getting a new car and I lost control. I need to get off here and get a grip! The children insist that the A/C needs to be on, but I'm freezing! I'm not sure what I'm going to do today, but I know one thing, it will revolve around cleaning! I'll be mad tomorrow when it rains and I spent most of today in the house, I just hate when I do that! So I'm going to get up and go do something!!! Oh the Cranberry thing, I think it was last year somebody bought a powerball ticket in Cranberry and hit really big (I think over 200 million) but anyway they didn't come forward for awhile, making everybody recheck their tickets. Small towns, were such dorks  !!! Ok, I'll be back later this evening!!!! |
Its the weekend!!! I hope everyone is enjoying the day. I went to WW this morning for WI and I lost 4lbs!!!! So that was minus the 2lb gain from last week and another 2lbs. Considering that TOM is here with a fury, I think that is pretty good!!!! Wooo-Hooo!!!!
Last night DD had a family cookout at her preschool for the last day of school and I lost my good sunglasses that DH bought me 2 years ago for Christmas. I think I lost them down by the stables while they were riding the horses. I went back 2 times but...they are gone. So I went to Target and bought some cheap ones then I headed over to Walmart. They love to see me coming!!!! I am suppose to go to a bridal shower today and a farewell party but I think I am going to skip out of the bridal shower. We had a shower for her 2 years ago at work and then a week later they cancelled the wedding. So they are having a shower for her away from work this time. I just have two much to do before I go to a friends farewell party. He is moving to New Mexico in June. Kerry- Don't worry your time for that big belly will come!!! Right now enjoy this time to do all the things you won't get to do for awhile!!!!! Marie- How nice to have a pool!!! We had a pool growing up, but our yard just isn't big enough and the neighborhood pool is just around the corner. The good thing is that the kids can swim at grandpa's house for 3 weeks while we are in Arizona. Hope everyone else is having a great day. |
Lori, definitely get outside. I've spent a portion of the day outside - it's the first really beautiful day of spring that I have off from work. I thought of you as I was weed whacking. I was making progress but I ran out of the wire. So now DH is going to pick some up after work. On the lottery side, I think most winners are from small towns so I'd say that doubles our chances. I mean, how many people have heard of Klamath Falls, OR. Don't you think the next winner should be from here (me)? Hawaii we would invade.
Kerry, I'm so proud of you for likeing what you've accomplished with the weight loss. I do get why the tan makes you feel thinner. Tans "look" healthy and white skin looks like fat. I still get lots of sun at my old mid-forties because of the pool. I do admit that I like the tan better than bletchy white. But I do slather lots of sunscreen on. Good luck on the getting prego. Having children is a great joy. Paige, your trip sounds fun. I think most homes in Arizona have pools just so they can tolerate the 100+ temps. I aways wanted a pool growing up (had a lake but that's not the same) and when DH and I built our house that I plan to live in till I die, we each had our dream options. His was to have an extra garage - so we built him a 3 stall garage in addition to our regular 2 car garage and I wanted the pool. It was worth every penny. Both add equity to the house, but we don't really care about that. We just love our little dream features. Well, I suppose I could mosey back outside and enjoy a little more of the weather. TTYL. Marie |
Just a quick post.....Today has been a good one so far. I went to the gym and talked to a personal trainer and signed up for a 6 week program, starting next Tuesday. I'm so excited. I'm definitely feeling super-motivated again and I'm definitely going to be bathing suit ready in 4 weeks for my vacation. I've been staying within my points also. Today I bought the most delicious treats at Wal Mart. They are skinny cow strawberry shortcake ice cream sandwiches.....they are sooooo good and only 2 points each. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Happy Sunday!
O.K. I've got a little more time to respond to posts now. I woke up at 4:00am and couldn't go back to sleep. I've been cleaning house and did my 3 miles WATP video. I've already gotten ready for church and have a few minutes to kill. I'm actually wearing a skirt today. This is the first time I've worn a skirt in months. Our church is really "laid back" so I usually wear pants on Sunday mornings. Sometimes I even wear jeans. I feel a little wierd, but sometimes you just have to step out of your comfort zone. :p
Judy-Good luck with the interview! Lori-A new car....that's pretty exciting! What are you talking about getting? I recently bought a Mazda 3, and I absolutely love it. It's not too bad on gas either. A lot of my friends have SUV's. I couldn't imagine having to put gas in one of those things, with the gas prices here lately. Julie-Thank you for the encouragement. Hope the weather is better for the remainder of your weekend. Kerry-I'm so glad you're feeling better. Congrats on the 2 pound loss! :bravo: I've been tanning too. It also makes me feel better about myself.... Anything to help with the slimming effect. Marie-Hope your allergies are better. That pool is going to be soooo nice this summer. I wish we all lived closer together. We'd all be piling in your swimming pool. ;) You ladies are my support too, and I'm so thankful for each one of you. It helps so much to come here for support and encouragement. Paige-WOW-4 pounds!!!!!!!! WOOOOHOOOO! :woo: That shows that WW is a program that works. I'm enjoying it. I can't wait to see my scale moving down again. I was going to avoid the scale for a couple of weeks, but I bet that trainer will want to weigh me Tuesday when I meet with her. I know that for sure she is going to measure me and check my body fat. My body fat percentage was 22% in February. I hope it's less than that since I've been working out at least 5 days/week since then. I think normal for a woman is 18-23%. I know that a college athlete's % is 20%. I would love to get down to that. Have a great day! :) |
Good Morning Chickies :coffee: !!!!
It's that dreaded Sunday again, and back to the old bump and grind tomorrow! Marie, I forgot to mention I broke our weed eater last weekend, so now I need to go and get a new one! I had to use my mom's to finish last weekend, hers was really nice, but I picked it out of course. I think I'm going to get one like hers, it has a double string and really rips through those weeds much faster than my old one! I whince everytime you mention cleaning your pool. Mine is all rolled up in the lower yard, and I haven't moved to fast about putting it back up. It's really big and I remember thinking of it as an extra room to clean like the house. But when we did have it up is when I was still really sick, maybe I'ld feel differently about it now. But I never swam in the sun, I loved night swimming! I used to get a beautiful dark tan and my hair would get golden blond. Now I'm pasty white and dye my hair, the heck with it! Kim, I don't want to buy a car just yet, I want to bandaid the ones we have for now. DH is a mechanic on the side and has every capability to fix what we have. We really need to pay down some more bills first. But we were discussing either a Chevy Cobolt, or a Hyundi Sonta. A personal trainer sounds really cool!!! Is it very expensive? My BMI was at 31.9 and now it's at 26.6 I'm not sure how that equals with the percentage though. But I know it should be between 18.5 and 24.9. I'm slowly getting there! At 130 lbs. it would be 24.6 which would be normal, but it dosen't account for muscle so I guess you kind of have to judge it a little too. By the way I use the MSN calculator. http://health.msn.com/dietnutrition/bmicalculator.armx Paige, I skipped a graduation party this weekend too! One of my friends graduated from nursing school so her snotty brother had a party at his house. I wasn't comfortable taking the kids to his place and she has to re-take English 2. So I figure when she finishes that we'll have a big pig roast at her mom's were my kids are a little more welcome. Way to go on the loss! I'd faint if the scales moved that much. I jumped the gun last week, I weighed 142 all week so I only had a 1 lb loss not 2. But this week is starting to look like 141 so I'll just leave my ticker alone. Kerry, way to go on the 2 lb loss, you may very well be pleased right now, but as long as you keep at it you might totaly amaze yourslef! Sorry about the old allergies, they just so suck! Mine are all fall related, and it's my favorite time of the year too! Oh nobody hit the lottery it's up to $180 million this Wed. Maybe this will be it!!!! Did you get to see Star Wars? Was it any good? And don't worry DH will grow up in due time, they are all really late bloomers. I was starting to wonder if my DH and I would ever be on the same page, well not completely but it is way better than 10 years ago! And to think I have a whole house full of them, well the toilet seat down is a small step in the right direction! Oh this is a running joke at my house, none of my seats will stay up on their own, so I'm always in luck, nobody can accidently leave one up! Ok, I've go to run to the store and get some pre-week baking and cooking done! Chat with you all later!!!!! Oh and Julie, I tapped CSI if you want to borrow it! |
Good Morning!
I have really been sleeping in this weekend! I had trouble sleeping all week so I bought some Unisom for the weekend and d@mn that stuff works! Hopefully I'll be able to sleep on my own for more than a couple hours next week.
Paige! Way to go on the major loss!!! :dancer:  :cp: You are doing great girl! And so sorry about the sun glasses but that was a great run you had with them. I generally lose sun glasses twice a summer so I never get anything nice although I love to look at them and try them on  I go for the dollar store ones all the time. We're getting a Big Lots here and I am waiting until it opens to shop for my sunglasses there  Lori - thanks for the encouragement! ;) You are doing great yourself!! :) I think breaking out of the 140s is really difficult, but I'm determined that it will happen, just maybe not as quickly as I might have liked. I used the MSN calculator and my BMI is 22.4 so I guess that is good. My height really helps me when it comes to my overall weight. My grandmother is a seamstress and had high hopes that I would reach 5'10" and become a model. Now I'm a freakin librarian hiding in the stacks  At least I can reach the top shelf!! Kim - Isn't it nice to dress up and feel good about yourself. My place of work is like a fashion show and I've really gotten into it. I like looking nice and dressing the part. It's fun! And a personal trainer scares the crap out of me. I see the women at the gym working with them and I think "better you than me" I'd tell them NO too much. They make the ladies do too many reps of the weights if you ask me. But I hope it works for you and she is willing to work with you at a good pace and not work you to death. I'd be making an enemy for life  Marie - Having a pool is a MUST for my dream house. Heck I'd put one in now if I could! I grew up with a pool and LOVE to swim. Actually everyone in my family does except my dad, thus we all learned to take care of the pool since he wouldn't. My older bro just put his pool in and I like to go enjoy his when we can get down there. Well no big plans for today. I have to get some ant killer because they have made their annual invasion of my kitchen - Yuck! I need to clean a little, do some more laundry and pick up some things at the store. I wish tomorrow wouldn't come! But it will . . . Catch ya later chicks! |
Hey everyone!!! Well I went to a going away party for a friend at work and we went to a dive called Jak's Bar and Grille. It was so much fun!!! On Friday and Saturday nights they play live zydico(spelling)??? music. Let me tell you there were some people getting pretty freaky on that dance floor. I had a ceaser chicken salad and stupid me forgot to get the dressing on the side!!! So I have no idea how many points that cost me. Then I had two Corona's to drink...no idea how many points they are either!!!! So I guessed at 10pts for the beer and 25 for the salad. I had only had 10 points up until then so I figured I used about 15 bonus points last night. We had a great time!
I got up early this morning and started cleaning the house. The upstairs is done and everything down stairs except for our bedroom and bath...and a ton of laundry still to do. I just sent DH to Lowe's to get AC filters...and of course are they the cheap ones.....oh no, our unit the builder put in takes a special kid and they are $25 each and of course we need two. Ugh.... It was 100degrees here yesterday and the upstairs wasn't very cool so I hope the new filters help. I still need to cook for the week also. I just don't know what I'm in the mood for yet... Well enjoy what is left of your weekend ladies!!! |
Lori-thanks for the calculator. My BMI is 27.2. I will be glad when I weigh 136. Then I'll have a healthy BMI. Body fat % is a much better indicator than BMI because it's done with calipers, and BMI doesn't take muscle tone into account. I think sometimes we get too hung up on the scale. I was looking at a Christmas picture and I look about 20 pounds heavier, but I'm only 6 pounds less than I was in the picture. Working out helps me more than anything.
Kerry-Is Benadryl the ingredient in Unisom? I've been taking Benadryl for years to help me sleep. Paige-It sounds like you had a great time. Aren't those flex points great? I'm going to try to take a nap before work tonight. TTYL. |
Paige, I need some advice on freezing ahead. Or anyone else who has tried some of it. I made my favorite quick pasta dish and it makes way too much for just me and you can only eat it so many nights in a row. It has pasta noodles, red sauce, brocolli, and kelbasi in it. Can I freeze it? Oh and my fridge keeps freezing all my fresh produce too, what's up with that??? I noticed somebody cranked the level up and I put it down to about 1/2, that helped, but still some problems. I wonder should I turn it down more? Can I freeze plain yougart, sour cream, cream cheese, and what about regular cheese? I'm trying to get a feel for what I can jam in the freezer to save space and what I can't. Are there any rules of thumb that would help me sort this all out????
Thank you!!!!! |
Well I managed to sort through my mess of clothes. I was so happy I could cry when I started trying things on. I can't believe all the things that fit that didn't a couple months ago. Some things are even loose!
Paige - It sounds like you had a wonderful time out this weekend! Isn't that just the best? Who cares where the points were spent because those times don't happen often. Lori - I can't help you on the freezing hun. I'm curious as to the answers to some of your questions though. Please share your input ladies. Kim - Yes, the Unisom I take is a form of antihistamine. It is a bit different from Benadryl but in the same drug family. It really helps me sleep without waking up every stinking hour! I didn't get much house cleaning done. You ladies put me to shame. I did do some laundry though and grocery shop for the week. Other than that I laid in the sun and read my book, which I am enjoying so much!! :smug: Can't decide between reading or TV for this evening. I think there are some season finales on so I'll probably try to catch those. I need to get back into workout mode next week. One of my friends from work agreed to go to the gym near work and do a class or two a week with me. We'll see how that goes. See you tomorrow ladies! Ugh. . . Monday  |
Here's a pretty good refrence to freezing and storing foods.
http://www.baking911.com/pantry/stor...htm#thickeners |
Good Morning Chickies :coffee: !!!
It's Monday again, but I was happily mistaken on weigh in this morning, I'm at 140.5, that's a 1/2 lb loss. Not bad when I thought I was going to stay the same. This weekend is going to be hard, I can usually deal with one day of bad eating, but this will be almost a whole weekend of it! The weather looks like it is going to be nothing but crappy this week  . I'm starting to wonder if it's going to be another cold, rainy summer! I baked like a mad person yesterday, Marie would have been in her glory. Banana bread, bluberry muffins, bluberry pancakes, blackberry crumb cake. I also made chicken salad, but I think I wound up over salting it, the fat free mayo left something to be desired :^: ! My freezer is jam packed! I'm going to look into one of those little chest freezers, I'm just not sure where to put it! Kerry, what are you reading? I usually only read in the winter, but the way this weather is going, I may take up some spring reading this year! And why the heck is it when I get home from the store I can always start a new list, no wonder I spend too much money! Ok, I'm going to get ready for work, chat with you all later!!! |
I'm exhausted. Work is overwhelming at the moment and will remain so for a bit until I get through with a large project. Working with the extreme geriatric is making me insane. I have to meet fellow librarians for an outreach tomorrow at 7:15 am. Gotta get up early early!
Took Bella to the vet tonight. She's a bit overweight :D Which I was ready to hear so she's going on a stricter diet (poor girl). She has an ear infection and we have to go back about it in 10 days. Other than that she's doing well. It's quiet around here so I bet everyone is busy too. I'll check in tomorrow afternoon when I'm back at the library. Until then. . . :) |
Hey everyone! Busy, Busy day!!!!
Lori- I think about anything can be frozen. I date everything when I freeze it so in case it gets shoved to the back of the freezer I know how long it has been there. I have never frozen cheese but I think it can be done. We also have a freezer chest that we bought for about $150-$200 and we keep it in the garage. It really comes in handy especially now that it is getting hot we keep extra ice...popsicles for the kids.....and stuff like that in it. It also comes in handy when we make a Costco run!!! Gotta run DD has dance practice in about 30 min. Take care ladies!! |
Today's been really good. I've stayed within my points and went to an advanced step class. It was a great workout. Tomorrow morning I meet with the personal trainer after my spin class. I've heard she is really tough. Wish me luck! :tread: :workout:
Lori-Man, you were definitely busy doing some cooking. The food sounds really yummy! :T Was all of that food for this week? Kerry-Hope Bella's ear infection clears up really soon! :crossed: |
Good Morning Chickies!!
Man Tue. seem rough! It's raining again, and I never get enough sleep during the week. Kim, no that's not all just for one week! I love to cook and bake, but who ever has the time, I froze almost all of it. As I want it, I'll either get it out and put it in my bucket to defrost, or I'll microwave it! I guess coz the house is still read up I was feeling like susy-home-maker  !! So I just baked away! I tell you one thing, my leggs felt like I walked a marathon from standing in the kitchen all day. Good luck with the trainer, keep us posted it sounds really interesting! (and hard) Kerry, hope poor Bella's ears are doing better! Poor thing a diet, she looks pretty big just from her picture! Looks like you and Bella are going to be working together. My mom's yorkie is way to chubby, the groomer told mom it looked like she lost weight, mom said she hasn't been feeding her as much. I really had to laugh, I told mom that with my brother on a diet she didn't stand a chance, a few pounds were bound to go. He's doing Atkins, for some reason it works wonders for guys! I'd curl up and die with no pasta and potatoes! Looks like everyone is busy again this week, anyone have any wonderful plans for the holiday weekend? I'm going to try and get my closet cleaned out, it is a huge mess! How's that for excitement! Ok, I'm going to get ready for work, chat with you all later! |
Cleaning closets......almost as interesting as the weekend I have planned. I'll be working all weekend...yuck! My son is going on vacation with his dad Friday, and he won't be back until the following Friday. I can't stand it when he's gone. I'll miss him very much. I may be doing some extra posting. Have a great day ladies. I'll check in later.

I'm still here!
Sorry I have not posted in a few days....trying to catch up on all your posts. I have actually been swamped at work and I don't get on the computer at home too much since I am so sick of it after being on it for 9 hours a day at work
Well Lori, my whole office (9 people) went in on tickets 5 bucks a piece. Well I watched the Powerball on Saturday night and let me tell you I almost had a heart attack! I had 4 of the numbers! Too bad we only won a hundred bucks  You'd think with that many we would get at least $1,000 :p The sad thing is everyone let the machine pick except me...and that is the ticket that we won on :dizzy: so I knew we were close! oh well...now we have $100 to put back in. I think there were two big winners in Cranberry. I bought some of the tickets this time in Greentree and I will buy the other half in Wexford this time…Everyone picked some numbers rather than relying on just the machine, I am making my husband buy them since he seems to be fairly lucky lately It's so funny you mention Hawaii...I told my husband if we won that the first thing I would do is book a trip there  I'm not crazy about flying, but you do get use to it! Kerry- Isn’t it great trying on old clothes! I was doing that last week. I hope Bella is ok, boy these pets are like having children! We have to take our dog Peanut back to have his stitches removed next week. Marie-Hope you are feeling ok. My mom had asthma and so did my old roommate. I know how hard that was for them. Have fun with your pool! . Paige-Congrats on a 4lb loss! :bravo: Kim- Sounds like you are doing great! Step class! Trainer! Very Cool! Lori-I’m starting to wonder if we will ever see summer around here! 58 is the high today????? May???? I could cry  . It has to get better right? See you guys tomorrow! |
Hi all, I've been busy since the sun decided to come back to Oregon. I now have a nice sunburn. Why I didn't think of sunscreen is beyond me. But I didn't and now my skin is a pretty shade of pink. :)
I planted and planted things yesterday. We planted our garden, a rose bush and a bunch of flowers. I still have 3 trays of flowers left to get in the ground, but since I was stupid yesterday and spent the day outside, I had to stay inside today. Tomorrow was supposed to be a day off, but I will be working instead. It's supposed to be 83 and sunny - no humidity. I'm going to be bummed I'm inside. Lori, I like most of the food on your list. I just love banana bread and blueberry anything. BTW, I planted 10 blueberry bushes yesterday, too. Congrats on the 1/2 pound loss. I'm about half the way through my one month withdrawal from the scale. DH took it away I was becoming too obsessed. Julie, 4 numbers??? Wow, I'd faint if I did that good. I'm lucky to get one number right. I sure would love to win, but I'm not lucky in the lottery. Kerry, I sure hope Bella is okay. My Blizzard is a little overweight and she is on a diet with me. I think she's losing more than me. :) Kim, I hope the personal trainer helps. I'd be nervous and dreading it. Last year at this time I was going to physical therapy and mentioned that my dr. wanted me to do hydro-therapy in my pool and to have them teach me some moves for the rotar cuff. Little did I know that they had a pool and I had to wear a bathing suit in public. I was nervous all the way up to that appointment. BTW, I lived through it. Paige, enjoy the end of the school year. Kids are so cute this time of year. I went to an assembly today with all the areas 1st graders. They were so adorable and well behaved. It was really cool. That's about it. Talk to you soon. Marie |
Hello Girls!
I'm still slammed at work. I'm taking a moment to pop in and say hey. I've been trying to be good but you know how it is when you're busy - less time to focus. I've really fallen off the exercise wagon, but yesterday DH, Bella and I put in a good walk after dinner. I need to get back to the gym, but I'm not looking forward to it. The scale really hasn't budged much since Sat. I'm ok with that and feel that if I stay close to my plan I'll continue to see slow losses over the coming months. I don't have cravings like I once did. I can stay away from the sugary soda and chocolate more easily. These are huge accomplishments for me (the former 5 regular cokes a day girl). ;) Well I'm off to go scan articles to complete a HUGE order of 232 articles total. I'll be glad when it's all done and filled. I'll check back tonight. |
Hey everyone!! I haven't had a chance to post since Monday. The last week of school is always hectic!! I stayed at work last night until 8:30 trying to catch up on some things that need to be done by tomorrow. The kids only have half a day tomorrow. The next two weeks will be really nice!!!! It will just be the office staff next week and then summer school starts June 1st but I don't have to mess with that at all. Two other schools will be on our campus and will run everything for their campus and my principal handles summer school for us. I always get alot done during these two weeks. The last week of school is not good if your on a diet!!! We had a bridal shower for 2 teachers Monday, a retirement party today, and tomorrow an end of the year luncheon. We are having taco salads so I will bring my own fat free cheese and sour cream. It would be nice if I could manage to lose a pound or two by Saturday. I've been trying to stay off the scale!!! It's a hard habit to break. Well I will check back in later.

Well, I met with the trainer yesterday and she weighed me, checked my measurements and body fat. She's going to start my program Wednesday of next week. She said she'll be out of town the rest of the week and the gym is closed Monday for the holiday. I've done very well with my points and exercise yesterday and today. Today I did 30 minutes on the stairstepper, walked 1 mile, ran 1 mile, and did a few weights. As you can see my tracker has changed and I'm back at 155. I'll lose it as quickly as I gained it though. I think the trainer will get me through the 140's hopefully. She asked me what my goal is and I told her a size 6. I'm a 9/10 right now, and she said that's definitely doable by August. I'm excited! Well, have a great night and I'll check in tomorrow.

Good Morning Chickies :coffee: !!!!
Oh it's almost here, a long weekend! I had the worst night last night! I got another ticket last night, the cop insisted I didn't stop at the stop sign. The fine was $105 and to make matters worse he racked me $60 for no seat belt. He kept saying the kids were trying to cross where I blew through the stop sign. I got really mad, and told him the kids he keeps refering to were at the other end of the block and I seen them! He got jerked when I described what they were wearing and their hair color! I wouldn't normally care but that makes 6 points on my licenses in 2 months, which is very bad for my insurance, I'll have to take a written test, and I may have my CDL's suspended! And all because I slowly rolled through the stop sign, not like I completely ignored it!!!! Kim, I'm glad the trainer sounds like she is willing to work with you and she has done a good job of getting you excited already! This may be a very good exprience for you! Kerry, sometimes it's better to be too busy than too slow at work! We got to get you back to the gym, espically since you got a membership!! We need to set you up with a new goal so you get motivated to work out again! 4th of July is coming up next, what do you think??? Paige, I am soooooo jealous! I miss the good old days when I drove school bus and had my summers off! I didn't make much money, but I loved my job! I swear if I hit the lottery I'd drive bus again to keep myself busy! I feel for you, and all the parties! I'm dreading what I'm going to eat this weekend myself! Marie, I wish we had our flower bed ready, but heck as cold as it's been here lately I'd be afraid to plant anything! Remember that sunblock!!! Julie, I agree, where is summer??? The kids will be done with school June 7th and I won't let them wear shorts to school, they are so mad! Looks like we have another shot $215 million! I sereiously thought as lousy as my night was last night, and then the drawing was delayed, who ever bought tickets either in front of me or behind me would win for sure! Well I got to go get ready for work, don't want to be speeding or anything! Like I could afford to get caught again!!! |
Hi Guys.
I went for my weigh in the other night. Down a little over 1/2lb....not too bad considering aunt flow came for a visit the day after. We only won $7 on the powerball this time. :( We're trying again. I'm collecting money as we speak LOL. Marie-Your garden sounds like it is beautiful! Don't forget the sunscreen next time you're in the yard! I got a little burn this past weekend too, thinking since I never get anything when I am out in the sun, I sat out reading a book and when I was done I looked like a beet LOL Kerry- I have been swamped at work too. I am starting a new position with my company next week, since I had not been very busy these last few months they think I can handle a bigger work load, but of course things have picked up and will be adding new duties next week as well as keeping my old ones. :dizzy: Paige -I can totally sympathize with all the food temptations! Be strong! :wl: Kim- size 6 by August! That will be awesome! Lori- I'm sorry you had such a bad night! That ticket totally stinks! Can you fight it? Hope your luck changes for the better! ;) |
Sounds like everyone has been busy busy! I have been slammed at work all week. I'm hoping I have some time to breathe tomorrow. I've done ok staying on my eating plan, but I really haven't gotten back on the exercise wagon. I do need to set another goal but I am not feeling up to it right now. It's not that I want to quit trying, but I feel like it is happening at a natural pace. I am hopeful that I will see another 1 lb loss this week and .5-1 pound a week is good with me. I guess that would put me below 140 by July 4. Is that an ok goal? :p
As for the exercise, I'm going to get back with it but probably not until after this weekend. I'm so tired and just want to eat and go to bed after work. It is more mental than anything but that is so the worst for me. :( Lori - I am so sorry about the ticket! I've been there and I've slowed down so much and become overly cautious about stopping for everything. I'm like a granny now. Do the defensive driving school if you can to save you from the points. Also, it's worth it to call the officer/judge and see if you can get a lesser fine/points. It worked for me with the last one. You might get it reduced at least and then do the DD and save some money on insurance. Julie - Way to go on the 1/2 lb loss. That's great! I think it's better to lose it slow ;) It's been easier for me to maintain since I didn't do anything drastic. I'll try to send you some sunshine this weekend. We have plenty of it down here. (been hitting 80 degrees most days) Kim - Sounds like your doing great getting back on track. If we could put your exercise and my eating together we'd be losing weight like mad! I have no trouble cutting calories and going without for long stretches, but cannot stay motivated to exercise consistently. Paige - I am so jealous of your summer vacation coming up. Enjoy your last week of school and down time at work. Marie - So is your Blizzard losing weight? What'd you do to help - change food, exercise more?? We've changed Bella's food and trying to exercise more, but she's a lazy bum. I swear the neighbors probably think I'm awful the way I have to drag her down the street on the way back on our walks! Well I'm glad tomorrow is Friday, but I don't have a 3 day weekend. That's the way it is in hospitals :( We have 4 holidays a year that we close: Christmas, New Year, Thanksgiving day, and 4th of July - BUT you still have to use your PTO! It SUX  I don't have PTO available yet, but I'm already planning on when/how I'm taking it. We're going to Myrtle Beach with my family in July to stay at a big resort. Then in Aug DH & I are going to San Francisco for a week together!! I just bought the tickets this week and we're SOOOO excited!! :D Alrighty - I'm out of here. Glad I finally had a chance to catch up with you girls. Take care and I'll see ya later gators! |
Good Evening Chickies!!!
Well no tickets today, but work was hectic! 2 emergency spills, good for profits, bad for the regular work! I'm thinking of changing things up tonight, I just pulled out some Taebo and dusted the boxes off. I remember them as hard, but fun. Kerry, that is so funny, you dragging your dog (what about 100 lbs?) back after your walk! Almost fell over!!! What a mental picture  !! You need to think differently about going to the gym/working out in general. I know exactly how you feel about being tired and wanting to go to bed. I feel like that every Tuesday for some reason. Yesterday was hard too after the stress of another ticket, but when I'm done working out I feel like I just had a fresh pot of coffee! It is energizing and helps me keep my mad house in some order. It dosen't last all evening, when I wind down I sleep good (which I have always slept extremely sound) Mornings are not pleasant, but I notice on the weekends I'm only sleeping 1-2 hours longer anyway. Stop thinking of working out as work, to lose weight, or that it is a chore. It is your time to feel better! The losing weight just is an added benifit. I can now climb a flight of steps with ease, longer endourance to get my work done, and those feel good endorphins help with stress! Julie, I'm already in the processes of fighting my speeding ticket from last month. At least I have some what of an excuse, my entire dash has fits and most of the time only works when I hit those famous PA pot holes  ! I may fight this one just for the heck of it to see if he shows up, but I'm sure he will. The old fart is the chief of police, and if anybody wants a mental picture think of being police cheif of the Hazzard County, now reduce that image to only the town, not even the out lying areas. Pretty sad! Ok, I'm going to work out and get my sweat on! Chat with you chicks in the morning (if I get up early)!!! |
Good Morning!
Not too much going on here, only it is potting training central at my house ;) My son had two dry nights in a row and peed on the potty for the first time the other day and has gone on there several times :bravo: ...still having accidents though, but hey it's a start! I'm so happy! I hope he is completley trained by the time we go to Disney in November. We took him to Chuckie Cheese as a reward...it was pretty darn hard resisting that pizza :jeno: let me tell ya! But with the holiday weekend we will be eating at my in laws and eating out at least once, I did not want to eat anything else off plan this week. Kerry- Breaking 140 by July 4th would be excellent...sounds like we have the same goal! I am at 146 now, so I have a bit more work to do than you...we have about 5 weeks so...you should definately be able to do it! Lori-You crack me up! Does he look like boss Hogg? That would be funny! I hope you can fight the ticket...I got one in Pittsburgh several years ago, and fought it and won because the cop didn't show up, same deal though, they were pulling people over left and right for not stopping at that stop sign, which is hidden by a tree! But I new it was there since I lived in the neighborhood. I KNOW that I stopped and told the judge that. I hope you can at least get the points and fine reduced if not thrown out completley! Have a good weekend everyone! |
I've actually been doing very well this week. I worked last night and went to spin class when I got off this morning. :bike: I was sweating like crazy. :ebike: I'm going back to the gym when I wake up also. Yesterday, I ate 1200 calories and that's my goal for today too. I'm determined to get the rest of this weight off. I started to eat a miniature resee's cup last night and a girl I work with told me that I didn't need it. :nono: It hurt my feelings, but she was right. It was an eye opener. If I could just buckle down and lose this last 15 pounds then I could eat 2000 calories per day and maintain my weight. That would be so much easier. I would definitely be happy at 140....that should put me in a size 6.
Lori-That stinks about the ticket. :( How did Taebo go? I used to teach it at my church. I did the advanced a couple of months ago and felt like I was going to die. It's harder than I remember. Julie-Congrats on the 1/2 pounds loss!!! I'd take it, thats for sure. I love Chuckee Cheese. :jeno: :T I'd have a very hard time resisting the pizza. Sounds like you're doing great. I need your willpower. My son is almost 14 so it's been a while since I've been there. Kerry-Sounds like you're staying really busy. That would be great if we could mix my exercise with your eating. If you can figure out a way let me know. Wow.....Myrtle Beach and San Francisco in 1 summer. :beach: You're going to have so much fun. |
Hi everybody, a long weekend is here. All right, I know I've had plenty of them, but DH will have one with me so it'll be nice. But today, I'm on my own at home. Just me and the dogs. We're going to plant more flowers, the vacuum the pool. I already have sunscreen on my face and will cover the rest of me before I go out. The pool temp is up to 75 degrees - it's been increasing about 4 degrees a day so it won't be long until it is at my favorite 85 degrees. We have a solar heating system and it's so much more efficient that the propane we used to have.
Julie, good luck on the potty training. That is such a nice time when the diapers come off. The $$$ you save is amazing. Paige, enjoy your last two weeks during a quiet time. Our district doesn't finish for another 3 weeks. Then I have about 2 weeks of work and will be off for July and some of August. I'm looking forward to it, but I love the end of school in June so I'm not wishing it away. Lori, sorry about your ticket. I bet you never roll through a stop sign again. I remember my driver's ed teacher saying to always count to 3 at a stop sign and you'll never be caught. It was good advice that I've followed. Thirty years later I still count to 3. :) Fight the ticket to reduce the fine and points. It's worth a try - you'll have nothing to lose. Kim, sounds like you really liked your trainer meeting. Let us know what they have you to do to lose anything in the stomach. I definitely need help there. Kerry, Blizzard has lost some weight. Our vet told us to cut her food to 75%. We were feeding her 1 cup, twice a day. Now I feed her 3/4 c. twice a day. It has made a difference. We tried Science diet light food and she wouldn't eat it. I guess she would have lost weight with the starvation method, but I'd never put her through that. The reducing the amount of food has worked. Now if I could do as well as she is, we'd be doing great. That's about it. I'll chat with you all this weekend. Marie |
Scale Confessions...
Well I'm coming clean about my scale confusion. I started with an old bathroom scale that was so/so. I lost lbs and relied on it until DH weighed Bella on it and it broke :( So I went to Ross and bought one on discount. I hadn't weighed myself in about 1.5 weeks so when I got on it and it read in the low to mid 140s I was like - ok, I've lost. Then about 3 weeks later it went wacko :dizzy: and always weighed 20 lbs under what it should (kinda nice if I coulda believed that ;) ). So I finally went out and bought a GOOD scale from WalMart and paid more than my cheap butt usually does. When I got on it for the first time I hadn't weighed in a week or so and suddenly I was back at the mid to upper 140s (146/7). I wanted to cry. . . thinking that I had gained. :?: :( Now I've been using the new scale and today was SO happy when it said 142. THEN I went and put on the skirt I wore two weeks ago to the day and it is looser and I can pull it to my favorite spot just above the hips. Needless to say if your still hanging with this story, I don't think I was where I thought I was before with the crappy scale. I think this 142 is FOR REAL and I have the hips and slimming belly to prove it :p !!
So I'm still losing even without the exercise. I know I know it's awful and I've really eaten awful today since it's the bosses birthday and they brought in harvest bakery treats - turtle brownies and cinnamon scuffins. . . Shame shame. That and coffee and water is all I've had today and I think all I will have until I go home. I have a meeting at 2:30 and then I'm heading out after that. We're meeting a friend for beers tonight so it's going to be a rough one for sure. At this point I tell myself that if I go over my 1300-1400 cal limit per day, I may not lose, but I know I'm not going over 2000 and surely I'm not gaining. Probably a silly mind game, but I just can't be good all the time now girls. It's been months and months of being good and really hard on myself. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. TGIF!!!!! |
What a week!!! Things should start to settle down now at work and at home. Today was the last day for the teachers!!!! Although summer school will start on Wednesday, but I don't really have to worry about that so I can concentrate on getting other things done without constant interruptions. Also swimming lessons are over until we get back from Phoenix and we only have two more recital rehersals and the show left. It will be nice to have a 3 day weekend but rain is in the forecast.
I have WI tomorrow morning and I am hoping for a pound but two would be even better. It would be nice if I could lose another 20 lbs. over the summer, but I guess time will only tell. Well, I need to go fix dinner!! Gee we might actually get to eat before 8:00. I check back in later. |
