Judy - YUMMMM BBQ!!! I couldn't resist such either ;) Down here in the south it is on every corner, but the adventure is finding those that do it THE BEST :) I hope you found a good movie. We STILL haven 't seen Star Wars!

Lori - Sorry about your knee. I did that to my thigh a few weeks ago and had a bruise that was as big as a fist and lasted for days and days. As for the cat pee situation, have you tried giving them separate boxes? I only have one so I don't know a lot about that. There are also things you can put in the spots where they go. Here is a great page that lists some advice and reasons that might help you out.

Marie - Your dog sounds like my FIL's lab. He's always running off and rolling in a dead animal. Then he stinks for weeks. The only remedy is to find the dead animal and dispose of it. It's a pack instinct. Good job on winning the printer auction! Sounds nice :)

About the house - The landlord has never given me a price. It is now 6 days past the appraisal. I don't think she got the appraisal she wanted. :smug: I'm not intersted now anyway. We made an offer of the NEW house yesterday. Should hear something on Monday. I offered just under 4k what he was asking, but with some concessions about him not having to install the remaining appliances (which he had planned to) bc I want what I want. ;) I'm so nervous and excited. If all goes well we'll be moving the first of Aug. Of course this means subleasing the place we're in or breaking the lease. Not sure how that's all going to pan out.

Trying really hard to stay near the eating plan. We went out last night to Red Robin (famous for burgers) and I had to have a cheese burger. OH MY was it delicious. Still not gaining, but not losing either. I need to start exercising again at least ;) Yell at me Lori!
TTYL!!!

Hi, ladies--

I'm having a good day, eating right, working out and listening to jazz, and thinking very hard about cleaning house....and procrastinating by coming here to say hello first.

My appointment was cancelled yesterday, so I got my feet and hands done instead of my hair. Marie, 'dreadlocks' used to be associated with the Rastafarians in Jamaica, but now they're pretty common, or at least in any community with a large number of African Americans (think Whoopi Goldberg, for example). Most black people's hair, when left to its own devices, naturally coils, and will tightly twist around the neighboring strands if you don't comb it or straighten it with a hot comb or chemicals. I locked my hair by training it to twist in neat little ropes, as opposed to those huge things that Bob Marley wore. Once the hair 'locks'--which takes several weeks or a few months, depending--you can't comb it out again. I've been locking my hair since 1992. At one point it was nearly down to my waist, but I've cut it a few times, so it's not so hot and heavy in the summer.

Lori, I hope your knee is better! I can't help you with the cat question. I like animals, but I'm allergic. I do have some red dwarf shrimp in a biosphere, but they're hard to bond with

Kerry, luckily for me, I found out that the BBQ festival is next weekend, so I have another week to gather all my willpower or decide that I can't take the risk. I wish you luck on the house you've made the offer on. This is very exciting!

Okay, time to start busting' suds!

Good Morning Chickies :coffee: !!!

I've only got about 10 mins. so I'll make this quick! Wow slow weekend over here at 3FC! The cats each have there own liter boxes, the little one is way to picky to share so who knows. I rubbed her nose in the business on the kitchen floor, swated her butt, and tossed her in the bathroom where her box is. She hasn't gone on the carpet as of yet, so I hope she got the picture!

Kerry I'm soooo excited about the new house! You may have to do a drive by and send us pictures!!!

Judy, I'm glad your back! Your mood seems so lifted since the new job! Sorry about your appt. getting canceled, but I like to get my nails done! Everybody craps when they see my nails, I never take care of them and they are crazy long on their own.

Ok Kerry, here's your boost and my confession! I have eaten like a total hog for two weekends in a row and skipped working out a few days last week over the bum knee, which by the way is still a little sore. I have put on 2-3 lbs. I was 139.5 lbs this morning. I almost fell over, so I did my weight part of my Monday work out routine this morning and I'm planning on ridding bikes with my kids tonight, they just don't know it yet! I'm seriously afraid of falling in a rut and quiting, which by the way seems to happen to me way to easily. It's like a domino, once one thing goes I'm just laying all over the place! So I must force my butt to just do it!

Ok, I have to get a shower, I'll check in later! Hope everybody starts to pour out of hidding!!!!

kpe 06-20-2005 05:07 PM

Hey everyone!! Just wanted to let you know that we made it to Phoenix and are having a blast. We got here Friday evening and the kids have done nothing but swim!!!! We leave to go to California tomorrow for a few days. We have a reservation at one of the Disney hotels for Wed-Fri and then we will head back to Phoenix. The great news is I got on my dads scale on Friday (it said the same as mine at home) and today it was 3lbs less and that is even with TOM starting today!!! Maybe I should do this vacation thing more often!!!! Kerry- good luck with the house, I hope he accepts your offer!!!!!! Everyone else hang in there and keep it up!!! I will try and check back in this weekend when we get back to my dad's.

Igottabme 06-21-2005 10:23 AM

Good Morning! :coffee:
Been crazy at work still... :dizzy: I guess there is not much hope for a slow down.
Doing ok with my eating, but had a few obstacles this past week. We had a cookout with my inlaws for father's day...I did ok, but I don't think I ate enough (because I am not comfortable yet planning my own meals) which is almost as bad as overeating, but what can I say....I'm trying!

Kerry- A new house sounds wonderful! How exciting! :bravo: Good for you maintaining your weight through all this! I know I ate like an animal last year when we were going through all the house buying stuff...which is part of the reason I topped out at over 170lbs!!!! Let me be your example!

Lori-Sorry about your knee! ouch! :( Just get back into the excersise a little at a time! You'll be ok! Stuff happens. Don't let it take over all the good you have done! As far as your cat goes....I can sympathize! The two litter boxes should definately help! I had the same problem years ago, and that is what we did...I use to work for a veterinarian and that is what we would tell people to try first. The other thing to consider is urinary tract infection, but if it is a kitten this is unlikely. Hopefully the second litter box will help, and you may even have to change it completley on a daily basis. Now if I could get my own dog to stop pooping and peeing on the floor!

Paige- That's great! Vacation and weight loss!!! You go girl!

Judy-Sorry your about your appointment being cancelled, but nice that you got your hands and feet done! I love getting my nails done too! :D

Marie-Alaskan cruise! That is great! You are the third person I know that is doing that this year..unfortunately I am not one of them LOL. Congrats on the printer! ;)

Marie 06-21-2005 02:27 PM

Hi everybody, I'm at work and it's pretty slow so I have time to write during the day. So far today, I've been pretty good. I weighed in today and have maintained for the last three months. Not quite what I'd like, but when you eat, you can't expect to lose weight. Maintaining is okay with me for now.

I love my new printer. It's absolutely incredible. If you can afford one, I highly recommend buying a color laser printer. The pictures are awesome.

Goldie is home from the doggie hospital (again) and is doing okay. We changed the dressings on her foot last night and it looked pretty good. She now has a splint instead of a cast since she had an allergic reaction to the cast material and it got infected. Anyway, she's okay - drugged beyond belief since she's not supposed to move much, but that does make caring for her easier.

Paige, enjoy your trip to visit Mickey. I would have married him, but Minnie stole him away from me.

Julie, I wish I could say that I haven't been eating enough, but that isn't the case. I have terrible trouble with the munchies. I don't overeat, per se, I just munch all day. But I do know what you mean about not eating isn't good. Eat the good stuff and enjoy it. You're doing great.

Lori, sorry about your knee. Isn't it easy to backslide on exercise when given a reason. I'm really good about that - not something that I'm proud of. Here's hoping it feels better and that you get back on track.

Kerry, did they accept your offer? Having a new house is great. I love mine.

That's it for now. I will talk with you all later.
Marie

Igottabme 06-22-2005 09:23 AM

Where did everyone go? I hope you all are doing ok.
Just checking in real quick...not too much going on. I did go for my weigh in and am down another 1.1lbs...for some reason not real excited though...I think with work pressures and Aunt Flo on the way I am not real excited about anything....hope I snap out of this soon.

Marie, good job on maintaining for three months! That is awesome! I have a color laser printer too with a scanner that we bought a couple of years ago. I am always scanning pics of my son...I love it!
Sorry about Goldie...I must have missed the earlier post and can't find it. What happened to her foot?

Hope to hear from you guys soon.

Loud_Librarian 06-22-2005 10:01 AM

Hi Girls!!! I've been busy! Still just maintaining my weight and eating ok. I feel like I've been 141 forever, but I also feel like it is a good weight and I am happy with how I look. I fit into all of the clothese I wanted to wear again ;)

But I've been VERY distracted trying to make a deal and get our NEW house!! Here is the link to the website I made. I can't believe we'll be living in a brand new house! So I have lots of paperwork and packing to do. Maybe I'll get back to losing weight sometime, but for now I'll be happy if I just maintain. :p

Julie - That's awesome that you lost another pound or so! :cp: I had a terrible AF this month that lasted for 9 days. :fr: So I can totally understand how it can put you in a bad mood and make you care less about losing. I keep hoping that went it's finally over I might lose a little.

Marie - It sounds like we're on the same page about not pushing ourselves to lose lose lose. I'm happy with the changes I've made, how about you? I hope Goldie is doing better :)

Paige - I am SOO glad you've made it to Phoenix and you're enjoying yourself. You're probably at Disney RIGHT NOW!! You lucky girl! :lucky: Have a blast and enjoy!!

Lori - I hope you can maintain!! Please don't fall into old habits or beat yourself up for not losing. I think you're at a wonderful weight right now. We can't beat ourselves up for not losing the last 5-10 when we could be celebrating our maintenance at a healthy weight! And you're awesome for sticking to the fitness the way that you do! :strong: Way to go!

Judy - I'm jealous of your manicure/pedicure! I need some of that. You're hair sounds divine. BTW I think a good BBQ fest might be a place I'd be willing to splurge a little, but that's just me ;) there's some things not worth resisting. Of course I wouldn't eat anything else that whole day! :p

I'll try to check back more often and stay on my plan and not gain. I hope you're all doing well. We've been at this awhile eh? Way to go ladies!! :bravo:

kimberlydrn 06-22-2005 03:55 PM

Hello ladies. I know I've been MIA for a little while. I guess I've been doing O.K. I guess I've just been in maintenance mode. I'm in week 3 with the trainer and it's kicking my butt! It's so hard. This week I'm doing 1 hour cardio on Tues and Thurs and 2 hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of circuit training.....and it's all hard stuff. I do 2 different weight rotations, then 2 minutes of cardio, then repeat....and the cardio changes. For instance, one of the cardio parts is the treadmill at 5mph with 5% incline. It's hard to explain, but it's definitely the hardest workout I've ever done. I'm not doing too great on the eating. I'm eating healthier, but eating more than what I should. I guess it's the workouts. I'm starving all the time. I've been eating 1500-2800 calories per day. I won't be able to post for a while. My son and I are leaving tomorrow to go to Fairfield Bay, Ar, then leaving from there to go to Branson. I'm so excited. I don't have to go back to work until next Friday night. Hope you all have a great week! :)

Loud_Librarian 06-23-2005 08:16 AM

Where is everyone? I think the summer bug has taken us down ;) I hope we're not all falling off the wagon. :p

Igottabme 06-23-2005 09:00 AM

Good morning!!!
I'm still here...where is everyone else?

Kerry, I saw the pics of your new house! Awesome! Is it a done deal? You have a dishwasher and a deck! I am soooo jealous! But happy for you too! :bravo:

Kim-Hope you are having a good time on your vacation!

Lori, Marie, Paige...Judy......where are you guys???? :?:

Marie 06-23-2005 03:03 PM

Hi Julie, still here and working hard. Lots of state reports for the end of the school year. Sometimes, though, I just read and don't write since I don't have much to say. Sort of the case today.

Kerry, your house looks great. You're really going to love the wood floors. I really love mine since we ripped the carpet out.

I've been working and not doing much else. My home laptop got infected with spyware and that took a while to get off. I like Microsoft's new antispyware. It works pretty good.

Today I'm going to go swimming. I vacuumed the pool last night and left the cover off so I hope it's still clean. The temperates finally got into the 70s. Usually we're about 85 this time a year, but I'll take the 70s and sunny. I can still get my pool water into the 80s if the sun is shining. So tonight I will swim some laps.

I guess it's back to work time. I'll talk with you later.
Marie

Hey Chickies,
I want to say hi from crazyville :dizzy: !!!

I'm not kidding, we've had to move our vaction plans to next week, oldest sons hunter saftey course is the weekend we planned on going. Heaven to betsys he miss that!!! So I have to change all our reservations and pick some new places to stay. Due to cost and availablity coz it's a holiday weekend I've decided to tent it. Well, I forgot how much equipment I have, the mattresses need patched and I can't eat good to save my life! Haven't worked out too faithfully either! If I can manage to maintain until after the 4th I'll buckle down again and get my shi_ together, promise!!!

Ok, I'll be back when I get another 2 seconds!

Kerry, the house is just too cute! Way to go!!!!

lmatis 06-25-2005 07:01 AM

Good Morning Chickies :coffee: !!!

It's finally the weekend! I have so much to do! We are leaving for our vacation on Wed. and since were camping out for 4 nights I have so much gear to test and pack. One of my friends borrowed my air matresses over 2-3 years ago. I finally got them back this week, and everyone needs patched. I really could ring her neck, but if I wait for her to take care of it, it will never get done (look how long it took me to get them back). Were leaving Wed. and going to Williamsburg, VA, Fri. stop in Norfolk to let the kids see the navel base, then on to Ocean City, MD. On Sunday were going to zip up to Lewes, DE. to visit some of my DH's friends then were coming home. I really want to be home on the 4th! It's a shame I only have 1 week of vacation to work with this year, it makes going away hard. Next year the big plan is to rent an RV and head to Yosimite (sp), Mt. Rushmore and everything else along the way! I feel like I haven't chated with you guys in forever, I know everybody is busy, me too! My diet hasn't been too hot since I'm slightly stressed about re-arranging our trip and trying to get it all together. Today were making a big trip to Aldi's and Super-Wal-mart for supplies, maybe I'll stop at Sam's club too!

Kim, with as hard as the personal trainer has you working it is normal to be that hungry, just makes it kind of hard to drop pounds when the need to stuff your face is that much greater. I don't have any real good advice for you, if I work out that hard it just makes me sleepy so I stick to 30-60 min. a day. Let us know how it's working out!! And have fun on your trip too!!!

Julie, way to go on the 1lb loss! Your doing great! I'm just hoping to maintain until after our trip. Hopefully I can re-focus after we get back and get rid of these last few pounds!

Marie, glad the weather is getting better and you can use your pool! It actually got up to 90 degrees yesterday, but it so stinken muggy here it's yucky! Those are the days when I miss my pool! Sorry about your laptop, that just stinks! Hope you get it spy free soon! I'm running my weekly checks as I type!

Kerry, the new house is just darling! I'm so excited for you! It looks like it's in perfect condition, I always get stuck painting and wall-papering before we move. I can't wait to see it with all your stuff in it, well mabey put away! And to think we wanted you to buy a lottery ticket, your luck just shifted into a really great house!

Ok, I have to run! I'll probably set the back hill side on fire when I test all these stoves and lanterns! I'll check back tomorrow evening!

kpe 06-25-2005 03:25 PM

Hey everyone!!! Just a quick note to let you know I am still around. We got back last night from Disneyland. The kids had a blast and didn't want to leave!!! I think we will probably go over to my brothers house in awhile so the kids can swim with my nephew. I love it here and would move here in an instant if I could afford to live here. Houses are just so over priced here, makes me glad I live in Houston. My house is nicer then my brothers new house and they paid $300,000 MORE for their house!!!! Incredible!!! Well I have managed to lose 3lbs. will I am here and I hope that trend continues!! Kerry- I love your new house!!!

Well, I will check back with you all later.

Loud_Librarian 06-26-2005 02:18 PM

Hi Ladies! Well I managed to find all the paperwork/financial stuff that the bank needed to process the loan. I can hardly believe I've kept it together so well all these years. I found homeowners insurance (very affordable) and now I found out that I have to find my own appraiser and attorney -- ugh! My bank does not have a branch up here so the mortgage banker claims I have to do it all myself, but then I still have to pay them for it. What a pain in the a$$. I'm not liking that lady much.

DH's dad and step-mom are here this weekend. It's been tolerable. We went shopping yesterday and I got a great deal on two new rugs for $10 at a linen superstore. Going to be going back there a lot ;)

At weigh in last Friday I was down to 140 :) Must be doing something right. Of course the way I've eaten and drank this weekend, it'll probably end up going back up. I've been trying to make good choices, but the alcohol can really add up fast. I'm hopeful that I might see my goal before the end of Aug, but if not, I still maintain that I am really happy with myself right now.

Kim - Maintenance eating is good esp with all the exercise. No wonder your hungry!

Lori - Sounds like the trip will be fun. I loved Ocean City the one time I went. The boardwalk was so fun and the food was wonderful. Enjoy!!

Paige - Great to hear from you and I'm glad you're having a fun vacation AND losing weight. You ROCK!

Julie - Don't you have a wedding coming up? How are things going with that? ;)

Judy - Did you stay away from the BBQ this weekend? Evil BBQ.

Weather is crappy here and we're trapped inside. We've rented movies and plan to lay around and do nothing really. I'm so happy that I have a new laptop via work ;) I went wireless at home last week and I can take my laptop everywhere, even the deck! I LOVE it!!!

TTYL! I can't believe Monday is here tomorrow UGH! :(

Loud_Librarian 06-27-2005 09:45 AM

Oh No Monday again!

Hey ladies! Is anybody out there??? :?:

My weekend was a wash. I've got drama with the landlord. Glad the in-laws are gone. :p Happy that the scale still said 140 this morning! :smug:

Hope to see some of you around. I understand some of us are on vacations and such. :beach: But some of us aren't!! :tantrum:

Igottabme 06-27-2005 10:57 AM

Word of advice....:tired:

Never stay up until 1am watching Silence of the Lambs when you have to get up at 6!!!! :fr: The little sleep I got was plagued with nightmares and now my butt is dragging today! Had a decent weekend though...we hit 93 degrees! Took my kiddie to the kiddie pool (just my size since I can't swim) on Saturday and my back got burnt to a crisp! That's what I get for not putting on sunscreen. Then we went to the mall yesterday...I fit into those size 8's!!! Too tight for my liking though...I use to have to wear my 14's that way (should have probably worn 16's) but I refused to go up a size  and now I refuse to wear clothes that tight again...I like having a little room!

Marie-Hope you got to go swimming this weekend! I hear ya about being busy...I'm ready to tear my hair out!

Lori-I hope you have fun on vacation! I know one week is never enough, but enjoy it while you can! :D

Paige- I hope you are having fun too! :beach:

Kerry- nope no wedding....been married 5 years...YIKES time goes by so fast..I do wish I could do it over though....I would be alot thinner this time ;) What's going on with the landlord? Is she mad that you are leaving?
That's great that the scale stayed the same even with your inlaws in!

Cya all later!

Loud_Librarian 06-27-2005 11:57 AM

Julie - sorry I got you confused with someone else that is losing for a wedding. :dizzy: Now who was that??? I'd LOVE to do my wedding over too and according to my mom I'm thinner now than I was then too.

The landlord has decided that she is going to go ahead and put the property up for sale. Now she wants ME to have it all clean and show-worthy immediately!! I have packing to do and DH & I work FT. Plus she came in to inspect it giving us notice at 8pm on Thur and showing up at 1:30 pm on Friday. I had NO time to clean or prepare and then she had the audacity to say that we just needed to do some cleaning. Grrrr.... um yeah, a little notice to mop the floors would have remedied that. Not that I'm living in filth esp compared to the filthy state that the property was in when I took it. More grrr. . . How soon she forgets.

I've drawn up a lease termination agreement for us to sign. I am not giving her July's rent until she signs the agreement. ie agreement to terminate and assist to show on certain terms.

Everything seems to be going smoothly with the mortgage and house though :) All will be just fine in about 5 weeks. :D I will survive!

Loud_Librarian 06-27-2005 12:14 PM

Ok I figured out who it was getting married - Melexies... but she posted like four times and then disappeared. I guess she joined at around the same time you did Julie and thus my confusion...sorry.

We've also been for a LONG while missing Robin and Joetta. I hope you ladies are doing ok out there. We'd love to hear from you :)

Igottabme 06-27-2005 01:46 PM

Oh that's ok Kerry...pretty hard to keep everyone straight!
Sorry your landlord is giving you such a crappy time. Oh well, guess I better get my nose to the grindstone....work is driving me batty! :dizzy:

lmatis 06-28-2005 06:29 AM

Good Morning Chickies :coffee: !!!

Tonight is my last night to finish getting my crap together, were leaving around noon on Wed. DH insists that all of our camping gear won't fit in our rented SUV, apperantly he never seen me pack the dishwaher! Man can things go so wrong all at once, not only have I spent way too much money, but the stupid fridge went on the fritz, $200 for parts and labor and to make matters worse, the part won't be in until Wed. I have thrown out so much food it's not even funny!

Kerry, consider hiring someone to come in and do your final cleaning. You have so much to do and it might be really worth it. Don't let the land lord upset you, your leaving and never have to look at her again!

Julie, my DS got sunburnt last week, now he's peeling. And both kids have swimmers ear. I've had to get up a couple times a night with both of them for advil.

Paige, glad your having a great time and way to go on the 3lbs. Your really kicking butt on vacation, I'm just hoping to maintain. But I did manage to lose 1 lb in this mad dash to get ready, so I'll keep my complaints to myself! :D

I got to get ready for work! TTYL!!

lmatis 06-29-2005 07:32 AM

Good Morning Chickies :coffee: !!!

Wow this feels weird not being at work! I have tons to do this morning, hopefully we'll be hitting the road around noon today! Remember I mentioned about things going wrong, I want to change that statement. Why is it when you get a little money saved everything falls apart??? The fridge will be about $200 and both kids have swimmers ear and one has an infection. $30 on the office visit and $50 on meds. and that's with my insurance. Sat. I spent $30 on meds., but $20 of it was for me and my root canal that is still infected. Oh and we went up to rent the SUV last night and it was an extra $98 because we don't carry full coverage on our old beaters we had to buy their insurance. I'm starting to feel like and ATM machine!

Ok, got that off my chest! The sneaky scale said 134.5 lbs this morning, I'm not sure if it's a trick or it's true. But if it's true, I'm going to be worried. I'm dropping weight with out working out. Last time I got a work out in was Thur, or Fri night, I can't remember. I ate like a total hogg over the weekend, but did behave Mon. & Tue. I think when I get back, I best break down and call my thyroid Dr. to get my levels checked. My goodness I've lost 35 lbs so my body has changed big time. When I got sick, I had been working out, but I got very weak (couldn't even pick up a basket of clothes) and I went from a healthy 127 lbs down to a nasty looking 120 lbs or less in just weeks (I had that sunk in look coz it started rolling off too fast). I can't help but worry, I don't want that to happen again! Well, I'll call the Dr. on Tue. and make sure my levels and meds are still appropriate. OK I'm off to the shower and to start packing the rented SUV. Everybody have a great weekend, and I hope to see everybody back her by Tue.! No exception, ok well Paige, and Kim are on vacation, I think, so their off the hook til they get back  !!! I'll miss everybody over the next few days, but I'll take lots of pictures and post them! I'll be back on Monday the 4th! C-U-All-Then!

Loud_Librarian 06-29-2005 08:45 PM

Wow things have really come to a lull around here. I guess that's what summer has done to all of us. I hope it doesn't mean that we've all stopped trying to reach our goals! :p

I've been super busy. We have orientation at work tomorrow for the new residents. That's been time consuming. I'm killing myself at home to get things cleaned up for the landlord to start showing the house tomorrow. I'm still working with the realtor to get all the final things in place for the new house. Things are coming together, but it is a lot of work.

I've really tried to stay on plan but there have been moments. . . for instance yesterday I'm in Super WalMart buying a new vacuum, Mr. Clean Magic erasers and other cleaning supplies. I'm breezing through the food dept picking up some lean turkey for lunch, etc and hit the bakery and willpower crumbles. I bought a package of the white chocolate macadamia nut cookies and opened them in the car on the way home. I had three in total yesterday. BAD KERRY. But I'm stressed and weak. I just hope I don't put on weight through all of this. I don't expect I'm losing with my weakness overcoming me like that. Oh and if there's chocolate around I can't stay away.

So that's what's up with me. I hope to hear from some of you and I hope those on vacation are enjoying themselves :) ;)

Igottabme 06-30-2005 09:38 AM

Good morning!! :coffee:
Crazy busy at work :dizzy: ....did I really want this promotion???? Anyway down 1.4 lbs. I'm pretty happy about that...Some darn fool brought in chocolate chip cookies :cookie: today at work NO FAIR!!! But I am going to be strong!!!! I have come too far to fall off the wagon! I am still doing my 1/2 hour workouts in the am so excersise and diet wise I am doing ok...my hubby had to take our son to the doctor yesterday. The whole side of his face was swollen. Turned out to be a nasty bug bite. Could have been alot worse, so I am grateful.

Lori- Hope you are having fun! See you next week. :beach:

Kerry-We were moving into our house this time last year....I know it is very stressful! The grocery store that is very close to our house gets these cookies from a local bakery. They are monstor peanut butter blossoms! When we first moved I would get a whole dozen and eat 4 at a time! These were not small cookies by any means, but I could not stop myself! I don't shop in that store anymore :nono: Cant' do it!
Right now you are going to be so busy that I doubt you will gain any weight from eating a little more than usual...ok to splurge once in a while, but you gotta watch. Because once you get into those old habits and the routine sets in and things settle down, that's when the weight creeps on! Just be careful! And don't feel bad about it! That only makes it worse. Just forget about it and move on! Be strong! :strong: Everything will be ok! And we will all be here to lend an ear :listen: whenever you need it!

Hope the rest of you gals are doing ok and those on vacation are having a blast!!!!

Hi Julie and Kerry and everyone else.

I'm not yet on vacation but I will be at 4:00 tomorrow afternoon. Five whole weeks off. I am so excited about that. I live for summer vacation. Its the reason I work for a school district. It certainly isn't the pay. :)

I bought a formal suit for the cruise and I hope it gets here soon. More than that, I hope if fits really good. Perfect would be preferable. Anyway, I think I have all the clothes I want for the Alaskan cruise except the sweater I am knitting. I will work on that tonight. But only after I go swimming. It's supposed to be in the upper 80's today so maybe my pool will warm up a bit. Yesterday it was 80 degrees and felt too chilly. Call me spoiled, or what!?!?!?

I've made a new resolution. It dawned on my that I'm sleeping too much and that's causing me to be tired. So, as of this morning I made a promise to myself that there is no more naps and that I have to get out and do things. No more blahs during the evening. I have stuff to do and I'm going to do it.

Now diet wise, I'm doing lousy. I'm munching away at everything. I'm not making perfect choices either. But as long as I stay within some good range, I won't gain. That's my goal until after the cruise. Then it's full steam ahead on being good.

Exercise, I'm doing good on. Definitely doing better then I was a couple months ago. I exercise 3-4 times a week. Not as great as some of my friends here, but good for me. So I don't want to change that.

I will swim laps tonight, then work out on the weight machine. Then I will knit. I'm also listening to a digital book (on my MP3 player) called Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. So far it's pretty interesting. I just finished a book called A Good Yarn and I really enjoyed it. Now that DH is on the swing shift, I have audio books to keep me company.

That's it and I should really get back to work. TTYL.

Hey, it's your long-lost fellow loser, checking in finally to say hi, and hope that each of you is doing well. I'm still paddling along, losing very slowly--but still losing--working out, walking, and mostly making good choices, but not really bearing down the way I need to to speed things up.

Marie, have a fabulous time on the cruise!

Loud_Librarian 07-02-2005 10:52 AM

It sounds like we've all slowed down a bit. Nice to see you Judy! :) Marie - I am so jealous of your cruise! Enjoy it!!

Julie - Thanks for commiserating about the cookies. I find them to be my biggest stumbling blocks at those stressed times.

Lori - Enjoy the time off and don't worry about all the madness. As my parents say: if we didn't have bad luck, we'd have none at all. Or the other one they say which I adore "No good deed goes unpunished" Can't wait to hear about the trip.

I've been trying to be somewhat good. I watch it well during the day but yesterday I have a creamy frozen cooler for lunch and then pizza for dinner. I figured it was Friday so what the hey. The landlord is driving me NUTS. When they showed the house last thursday the left all the doors UNLOCKED and left the backdoor standing OPEN. I was furious. So they've appologized profusely and are walking on egg shells with me. They're showing it again tomorrow. What a pain. I have to take the dog and the CAT to the park when they show it. Poor Jazz Cat :( He's so hot at the park. He's a trooper though.

We're planning to take it easy mostly this weekend. I'll probably do a little packing and organizing. I'm trying to rid myself of more junk. On Monday we have plans to go boating which we are really looking forward to. We've been invited to a cookout on Sunday, but haven't decided yet if we're going. We went out last night and it was kinda dull. I think everyone left town for the beach. I'm jealous.

We finally finalized our plans for San Fran and made all the reservations. We staying 2 nights at The Pickwick in SOMA, then off to wine country to stay in Napa Valley for one night, then the last two nights are at the Pan Pacific in Union Square. We've managed to keep our flight and hotel costs under $1000 which is awesome for San Fran. We are so looking forward to it. We'll be moved by then and Corey will be done with working for the summer and back to school upon return. Can't wait.

Well, I've gone on and on like I can. ;) Hope you are all doing well. I am hopeful that I'm going to see the upper 130s soon. Keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Later gators!

Marie 07-02-2005 03:38 PM

Hi all, things are going good here. I am DONE with work for 5 weeks. I am so excited about that. I plan to cherish each and every day. I love staying at home. I lost a pound this week and that is good. considering a couple days ago it said I had gained three, I was shocked when I actually lost one. Just goes to show that the scale is very picky on retaining water and the such. So that loss has motivated me to be good today. I wish I could see a loss every day.

I plan to swim today and do some laps. We were going to take the dogs on a hike but I overslept then fed them breakfast out of habit. Since you can't exercise dogs after they eat for a while, it's too warm now. We're going to try again tomorrow. So today is a swim day.

I've been working on my sweater and finished a sleeve this morning. I just love the knitting machine. I can't imagine how impatient I'd be if I knitted by hand. I really like to see progress quickly.

Kerry, you're going to love the Napa valley. We were in Sonoma and Napa last weekend for the nascar race. The vineyards are just awesome. I wish I'd known you were going and I would have given you two tickets to a wine tasting event. I tossed them since we didn't use them. Bummer. I also know how frustrating it can be to show a house. And that your just renting makes it even worse. At least if you're the owner, you have motivation to have it perfect. And that they left it wide open is just plain wrong. I'm glad you ripped into them.

Judy, glad to see you. I hope that you keep on the losing path. I know I want to. Everyday, I'm getting more and more motivated. I never thought it would take so long to get back on track.

That's about it. Have a fantastic weekend.
Marie

Hi - can I join

HI all, I have read all 32 pages and would love to join you! I have been away from 3fc for awhile, but am back now and need a new home. I did low carb for awhile but have gotten away from that and am trying for a healthy diet and exercise.

A little about me, I live in North Carolina, with my husband, 2 kids, DD is 6 and DS is 8. Two dogs, 2 cats and a horse. I work full time (40+ hours) in the HR field, and seem to be running all the time.....

I have lost 30 lbs and have been stuck there for about 2 months....UGH!!

kimberlydrn 07-02-2005 09:43 PM

I'm back!

Well, another vacation has come and gone. We had so much fun, but it's actually good to be home. I'm finally unpacked, everything is washed and put away, and I'm just relaxing tonight. I was actually dumb enough to get on a scale last night and it showed 165!!!!!!! It's depressing but motivating. I know a lot of it's fluid, but still....yikes! I weighed 155 1 week ago so I should be able to lose it just as quickly. We ate so much good food though. I ate whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. I quit drinking my water too. I drank coca cola classics all week and loved it. That's what you're supposed to do on vacations though, right? I'm back on track now though. I've eaten healthy yesterday and today, I'm drinking my water again, and I worked out for 1 hour, 45 minutes today. I was surprised I could still do my program after eating all of that junk last week. I've tried to catch up on posts since I've been gone but there are so many. Anyway, I would like to say welcome to Scooby 2, and Kerry I love your new house. How exciting! It is perfect! Well, I'm super-motivated now and ready to get this weight off. My goal is 135 by September 16. 30 pounds in 3 months.....that would be awesome!

judydc 07-03-2005 12:50 PM

Kerry, I love going to Napa and Sonoma! It's so beautiful and calm...I like going to the mud baths and the hot springs, but I haven't been in a few years.

Hi, Scooby2--I can relate to being stuck for months! I wasn't able to maintain my focus after the first few months, and started slacking off jsut enough to lose momentum. But my habits are so much better than they were near the end of last year, and until I can fully re-engage mentally in my plan, I'll just fake it 'til I make it

Marie--five weeks off is such a blessing! I hope you are able to savor every day of it.

Off to see a movie, and maybe to the fabric store to buy trim to finish off my homemade placemats. Hope you are enjoying the weekend!

kimberlydrn 07-04-2005 09:49 AM

Well, I made it through another weekend. It was pretty slow at work, for once. I did great with my eating. I stayed under 1200 calories all weekend, even on Sunday. I'm so proud of myself. I feel like I've finally got my mind made up to lose the rest of this weight. Hope all of you have a great 4th of July!

scooby2 07-04-2005 05:58 PM

Happy 4th!!

:)

Hi everyone! Happy Independence Day!

Had a pretty good day...we took the kids to the lake, finally put our boat in the water. Now it is raining, may wash out the fireworks....I hope you all have a great week!

Loud_Librarian 07-05-2005 08:50 AM

Welcome Scooby! :)

I had a good weekend. We shopped for things for the new house on Sat & Sun while it was rainy. Yesterday was beautiful and we went up to the lake with a friend. I am now burnt from floating on a raft most of the day. We had a great time though.

I've managed to stay right at 140 and haven't been very good lately. I had a burger yesterday as well as ice cream. But it was a holiday and all!! :)

I don't want to be back at work today :( I'm tired and want more days off!!!

Igottabme 07-05-2005 10:13 AM

Hope you all had a great 4th! :)

Welcome Scooby!
Welcome back Judy!

Marie- I hope you are enjoying your vacation! I don't know what I would do with 5 weeks off, but I'm sure I could think of something :D I know what you mean about sleeping too much! I use to do that in another life  and it always made me feel more tired! I have to say though it has been quite a while since I have been able to do that...right now I am just the oposite! I think I got maybe 6 hours of sleep last night, between going to see the fireworks and the storm we had here last night, my son woke up a couple of times and I could not go back to sleep! Anyway...enjoy your time off!

Kerry-Your trip sounds great! I have never been to California, but would love to go someday! Congrats on staying at 140 even with the cookie meltdown  A burger and ice cream? No biggie! as long as you don't overdo there is no problem with eating stuff like that! Hope you had fun shopping! I love shopping for house stuff! Sorry you had to go back to work so soon....looks like we are in the same boat...sucks doesn't it? Half my office is out this week and....here I sit. :(

Well I have my weigh in today.... :dizzy: hope I have at least a little loss. I did not stay on my plan entirely this weekend with all the festivities, but I did my exchanges as best as I could and tried not to overeat, so we'll see.

Talk to you later!

Marie 07-05-2005 07:30 PM

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great holiday. I spent most of mine doing yard work. It was beautiful outside and I bought a new weed whacker. So I was after the jungle like weeds that have taken over my house. It looks much nicer now.

Julie, I hope the weigh in goes good. I've been maintaining but I haven't really been trying to lose. You sure are doing great even if you don't lose this week.

Kerry, what type of stuff are you buying for the house? Decorating a new place is like a blank sheet of paper. It's fun to add the colorful touches. Also, you should use sunscreen if you're going to float all day. I thought about doing that today,b ut didn't ant to burn. My tan is so dark from playing in and around our pool, that a burn on top of it would look silly. Do you remember when we chatted about tan fat versus white fat? I think red fat ranks with the white stuff so use some sunscreen. You're skin will love you for it. :) But floating all day is a great way to spend a day.

Scooby, I bet getting hte boat in the water was a blast. I've always wanted a boat but couldn't afford it. I guess that's not right - I couldn't rationalize it knowing how we probably wouldn't use it enough.

Kim, way to go on the 1200 calories over the weekend. You sure are an inspiration. When I get back from vacation in a month, you'll have to tell me everything you've been doing to be so on track. I need motivation at this point.

Judy, how did the placemats turn out? What colors and the such?

I went hiking with DH and the dogs this morning so I got my exercise in early. You know, all through the spring I was pretty motivated eating wise and couldn't get the exercise going. Now that I'm exercising, I'm not eating right. When, oh when, will I ever get the two together?

TTYL.
Marie

Good Morning Chickies :coffee: !!!

I don't have any time this morning, just caught up on the posts, but I wanted to check in and say were back. I am doing very poorly on eating and working out so I have to get my butt back in gear today! There is nothing healthy to eat in the house, and I don't have time to shop till the weekend. I'll sit down tonight and give you guys a full report on the vaction! I've got to run, I have my second court hearing today on the stop sign ticket, I did get the speeding ticket lowered yesterday.

Loud_Librarian 07-06-2005 08:33 AM

Happy Hump Day!

Well, I'm glad it's the middle of the week already. I'm ready for another weekend. :p This work stuff sux. Still at 140 and trying to motivate the mind to get back on track to lose these last 5. I packed my lunch today (turkey sandwich, pretzels & diet coke) and that's good that I won't go to the cafeteria. DH & I have been eating out way too much, but mostly due to being either put out of our house, having to maintain constant cleanliness and being busy. I'm afraid it may stay that way for awhile until we get moved.

Marie - We are having so much fun shopping for the house - but lots of disputes too. DH is in the Interior Design field and we don't always agree. He's very contemporary/modern and I'm somewhere between bohemian and contemporary. I let comfort supercede style at times when he doesn't want to. We're currently having the great Lazboy dispute of 2005. He wants one style and I want another - both are very trendy I must say. I'll post them in a bit :) We have agreed completely on the bedroom and office though. Of course office is just furniture for now since we have high hopes that it will soon be a nursery ;)

Lori - Way to go fighting those tickets girl!! :cp: I hope you enjoyed your trip and there were no more disasters hitting at once. Don't beat yourself up too bad about not being on track while vacationing, that's what it's all about. I think summer is a very HARD time to diet personally. My schedule is all out of whack and we're traveling, etc , etc. Good to have you back though. :)

Julie - How did the weigh in go?? I hope you saw a little loss at least ;)

Well I have to go sort out an issue with a palm pilot and software installation. I'll be back and post those photos for you to see later. :smug:

Igottabme 07-06-2005 08:39 AM

Good morning!

Welcome back Lori! Hope you had fun on vacation! Goes by way too fast doesn't it? I'm glad you got that speeding ticket lowered! Maybe you'll beat the stop sign ticket! ;)

Marie-It's great that you are maintaining! Keep up the excersise! The eating changes will come eventually. Excersise is so important for your mind and spirit! So keep it up! :bravo:

My weigh in went fairly well....down another 1.1lbs. However....she took my measurements  I only lost about a total of 2 inches and the majority of it was in the bust area :tantrum: The sad thing is I really couldn't afford to lose anymore up there  My belly is still huge :o and the rest of me is looking quite thin....I look like a thin pregnant woman! Oh well, I know there is only so much I can do about it...the fat is going to come off where it feels like it. Better than being where I was 5 months ago!

Cya later!
