I knew someone was missing - - - JOETTA!! Are you out there? I hope you're hanging in there hun :) and we see you soon.
|
Hi chickes. We’ve made it through Wednesday and are officially on the downward slide to weekend. I do love weekends. Being back on track food, water and exercise wise has made the weekends even better because I’m not wanting (or doing) to munch all weekend long. I’m so focused that I don’t even think much about food. That is a real accomplishment since usually when I diet I obsess about what my next meal will be. Now I’m finding that eating is sort of a pain in the neck since I don’t want to cook for myself. When DH comes home on Saturday, we’ll see if I stay as focused. I sure hope so.
Kim, you can get back on track and leave those cookies in the dust. We all have days that we lose it so you’re really not alone. Thanks on the congrats. That felt just as good as the losing weight did. I just truly love how supportive we are. And that article was great. I knew about the water and sodium, but I didn’t know about the glycogen. That was really interesting. Lori, I finally figured out that I’m lucky. I gain weight all over and I lose weight all over. Proportionately, I fit the sizes on the labels. I definitely have realized with 3FC that I’m lucky. That would be hard to work your *** off only to lose it only in your chest and feet. I wish I could give you some of my proportions since I have big boobs that tend not to want to shrink a lot. Kerry, I also have allergies and asthma. I take my meds year round but they can’t quite cover the symptoms in the spring. Living in the desert (where it’s currently downpouring) has helped, but they’re still there. I sure hope you feel better soon. Congrats to hubby on reaching that level. That’s just so cool for you. Oh, BTW, I bought a lotto ticket to take us all to Hawaii and I lost. I guess your luck didn’t rub off here. I think you’ve got to buy it. Well, that’s about it for now. I’ll chat with you all tomorrow. Marie |
Another short post... I feel lousy and my allegra d hasn't kicked in yet!! Just wanted you all to know that I had been catching up on the day. The kids just went to bed and I think I am headed in that direction. Tomorrow is WI so wish me luck!! Hopefully it will be a good one and end this holding pattern I have been in all month. I'll check back in tomorrow. Hopefully the allegra will have kicked in and I will feel a little more chatty. Have a great evening ladies.
|
Paige - :goodluck: with the WI today!!! :goodscale
BTW - I have cash in my purse and I'm going to buy some lottery tickets tonight - Promise! :D |
Kerry, don't forget to cut us all in if you win the lottery, since it was our idea for you to buy tickets!
Paige, I hope you're feeling better! I took my long walk this morning, across the Memorial Bridge and along the Potomac River, and was quite sniffly afterwards. I've had a bit of a sinus headache off and on since Tuesday afternoon, but not enough to knock me out. Marie, congratulations on the big loss :jig: Rebecca, your food plan sounds great, not like a 'diet' at all, just using common sense. Good luck! Kim, thanks for the article. I hate how we beat ourselves up over what registered on the scale, instead of looking at the size of our bodies, or valuing how we feel. I weigh myself every morning because it reminds me of my goal, and try to not to let the number determine what mood I'll be in for the rest of the day. Lori--Dorkarella? :lol3: I don't think so! I was really diggin' these new Savvy Faire frozen dinners, until I figured out what it is that I like so much about them (besides the hefty portion sizes and liberal use of healthy fats): a very high sodium content! I've stopped buying them, and I make sure to drink extra water on days I have Lean Cuisines or Progresso soup. My potluck last night was cancelled, as the hostess was ill. So now I have a freezer full of seafood burgers and a lot of homemade tartar sauce! I'm heading to New York tomorrow. Have a great weekend! judy :goodvibes |
Okay ladies, in my opinion the month of April has sucked lemons, big time. I can't wait for May to be here. First I turned 40, got hives from head to toe, gained 4lbs due to TOM (which was also 3 weeks late), and if that wasn't enough I have only lost 10ounces in the month of April except for the 4lb gain that I lost. I stay on plan. I have been so good!!! And this just SUCKS!!! ok...vent is over.....
Kerry- Good luck with those lotto tickets!!!! Judy- I have also really been trying to stay away from frozen entrees for lunch. You think your doing such a great job by eating them, but if you really look at the label...WOW...not such a good thing after all. Allergies don't seem to be so bad today...but I'm not impressed with my allegra d. I'll check back later if hubby will let me back on. |
Well, I did good with the exercise today. I did a very intense 45 minute step aerobics class today, then ran 1 mile, walked 1 mile, 15 minutes on the stairclimber, then some weights, whew! My food choices have been about the same. I swear sweet stuff is an addiction for me. Here is what I've decided to do.....totally abstain from anything sweet except for fruit and 1 fudgelite bar per day (sweetened with Splenda and 35 calories). You know how alcoholics have to abstain from alcohol. I'm pretty sure that's what I need to do with sweet stuff. I've got a real problem with it. I can't wait to start seeing the pounds come off. I've looked back through my Fitday and that's the reason I've not been losing. I'll let you guys know each day if I'm following through. I need ya'll to hold me accountable. The first 2 weeks will be hard, but I can do it. Well, this is my new goal. Wish me luck! I've got to get ready for work-we have the dreaded potluck tonight. Have a great night!
|
Judy, enjoy New York and your freezer full of seafood burgers. Nothing like having a ton of the same food to eat. At least seafood is a healthy choice for you.
Kim, you can do it on the sweets. Go cold turkey and you'll succeed. Good job on the exercise. Paige, I hope you start to feel better. I found with allegra, it's best to take it year round. It works great for me that way. Kerry, I have my lotto ticket too. If either of us wins, it's off to Hawaii for the full time working stiffs. I've been good on my diet today, even with going out to lunch. Water intake is good, not great. Just not thirsty today, I guess. \TTYL, Marie |
I LOVE FRIDAYS!!! They are just the best!
I've been slightly busy this week so I haven't had as much time to chat :( ! I have my workout clothes on and I'm going to jump in before I lose the mood, I really over worked my legs Tue. and I had to give them a 2 day break. They all better today so back to the squats!! My weight is really not looking much better on the DUMB scale, but that's ok I guess everybody hits a platue now and again! How many weeks were you stuck Kerry?? Marie, if I forgot, way to go on the weight loss!!! Paige, I sometimes get allergy problems, but mine are in the fall when the leaves are falling (my favorite time of the year) and I'm living off nose spray and advil cold and sinus. Kim, pass some of the energy my way :D ! YOU CAN DO IT!! (what was that movie) any way I'm sure you can get past your sugar-holic cravings!!! Judy, have a great time in NY! Yea, those pre-made dinners can be a real problem if you eat tooo many!!! Ok, I'm going to work out! I'll be back later! |
Good Morning!! I hope everyone has fabulous plans for today!!! I had planned on taking the kids to the park but it is really windy and looks like it might rain. Maybe the outlook will get better as the day goes on. They were really looking forward to it.
I feel a little better, maybe the allegra d is starting to work. Glad today is the last day of April!! I'm looking forward to May so I can get out of this April rut. I need to do a few errands today like going to the grocery store and DD needs a special pair of dance tights for her recital. They are taking pics on Wednesday so I need to find them today. I still have alot of stuff in the freezer from what I cooked last weekend, but I might fix a few more things today just to add some more variety this week. Hopefully I can get some exercise in this weekend since I am feeling alittle better. I will try to check in again sometime today. Enjoy the day ladies!!! |
A quick check in. . . I'm busy busy. Yesterday was a rough day at work. We're having some trouble negotiating my contract since going FT :( It is really stressful! We went to the movies last night and saw "The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy" - I have read the books and totally enjoyed it!
Lori - I was stuck on the scale for almost THREE weeks. And then I started losing again at a rate of about .5 to 1 lb per week. Then it picked back up. Now I'm thinking I've hit another plateau, but it could be the working out. I'm doing web dev now in order to have something ready to show my brother later today. We're traveling a couple ours to visit my family and celebrate my oldest neice's and my dad's bdays. (she was born on his 50th bday 8 years ago :) ). I'm looking forward to seeing my family and swimming in my brother's pool. Have a great weekend ladies! I'll catch up on Monday! :) |
Good Morning Chickies :coffee:!!!
It's Sat. late morning, just ran and got my hair cut. DH's grandfater passed away last night, so I'm looking at a crazy couple of days. Thank goodness the family stuff isn't going to start until tomorrow. I have to go to the store get stuff to make in advance for the week and for after the funeral. Then a laundry, the house, and my normal weekend stuff! I may have to check into a clone for myself :dizzy:!! Kerry, I couldn't remember if it was 2 or 3 weeks you didn't budge on the scales, but I remember it being rough!! So to keep my self motivated I grabbed the tape measure this morning, 1 inch of the waist, 1 inch off the hips and a 1/2 inch off my thighs! Guess things aren't all bad!!!! Paige, glad your feeling better!! The weather here in PA just absolutly sucks, it's doing that rainy, drizzle thing, it's chilly, grey, and just depressing! Well I've to get running, I'm starving and have a million and one things to get done today! I'll try to check back later!!! |
Hi all,
Lori, I'm sorry about DH grandfather. Sounds like you will be really busy. Kerry, isn't the negotiation part fun? At least they're not telling you straight out this is what you get, take it or leave it. My jobs have all been that way, then a year or two later, they seek big increases for me so that I'll stay. That's happening again in this job. I have been stuck in the same zone for about 6 months. I can't get past 189, but then for 6 weeks I ate like a pig and gained 11 pounds. So now I'm back to 196 and going down. I think that part of the reason that I gave up was because I had been stuck for about 3 months. Dumb choice but that's what I did. Now I wish I was at 189. :) Things have been good. I've been totally on plan for two weeks and the scale and my clothes have shown that. DH is coming home today after being gone 2 weeks. Do you all see a pattern with that. I was able to be good while he's gone. So now the true test will begin. Regardless, I'm sure glad he's coming home. I really am tired of being alone with my dogs. They don't hold captivating conversations although Kodiak does like to howl at me when I talk to him. BTW, he is doing great after his accident with the abuterol. Take care everyone and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Marie |
Lori-I'm also sorry to hear about DH grandfather.
Tomorrow, I'm going to try Southbeach. I loaded up on carbs today for my last high carb dinner. I had mashed potatoes, french fries, and 2 rolls. I did workout for 30 minutes today on the elliptical. I'm afraid to weigh though. I've been eating pretty poorly for about 1 1/2 weeks. My next weigh in will be next Sunday. I hope to be back to 151 by then. I've got to get serious. I used to have so much willpower. I don't know what my problem has been here lately. Tomorrow is May 1st, a new month, a fresh commitment, and I will take care of myself! I'm setting a goal to lose an additional 5 pounds this month. Do any of you have goals for the month of May? Enjoy the rest of your weekend! |
My scale said 160 this morning!!!!!!!!! I know some of it's fluid retention from all of the junk I've been eating, but it was a real eye opener. I just wanted a starting weight for Southbeach. I'll feel so much better when I get all of this junk out of my system. Wish me luck!
|
Hi all, just a quick note to say that I lost another pound. I've lost 5 of the 11 pounds that I gained from November. Total weight loss since I started last year is back to 12 pounds. I just really want to lose what I had regained. Then I'll really feel back on track. The only place I'm still struggling is with getting 4 time exercising times a week. I'm at 3 but I really need to up it another day.
DH is home and is really being supportive. This morning for breakfast I asked him what he wanted and he asked what fit into my diet so that I'd stay on track. Such a sweetie. so we had one of my breakfasts and he just had more. It was great. Another rainy cold day. Hopefully it will dry up a little this afternoon so I can go hiking with DH and the dogs. That's my favorite way to exercise. If not, I have to use the exercycle. TTYL. Marie |
Welcome to May!
Hello ladies. Sorry I've been MIA, but the problems I was having at work, got a little worse in some respects. They put everyone on the same schedule, which was fine, but the department manager said that he would prefer that we didn't spend our lunch hours on our comptuers. I can see their point, but I used take 15-20 minutes to check in here and do my daily posting. Now, I have to do it in the evenings, and I often just don't have time. I have a two-hour commute round trip. Then we go for our evening walks for about an hour, then eat and do chores. So, it's going to be hard for me to post everyday. I'll just have to squeeze it in elsewhere though because our forum really keeps me on track.
Lori - I'm sorry to hear about your DH's grandfather. I hope he didn't suffer much. How is your husband doing? Hang in there. We'll be here when you get back. Kim - You are not alone with your sweet cravings. They are my downfall big time. And not candy, just pastries - cookies, cakes, pies, donuts, etc. And I had come to the conculsion a while back that I am just way better off abstaining completely from them. If I have one bite, it can throw me off for the rest of the day. And I had some birthday cake at work on Friday for one of the girls in the office. I thought if I just took a small piece, I'd be fine. I was sooooo wrong. I have been eating sweets all weekend now. And now I'm going to have to go through the withdrawl again. I was doing so well when I had gotten through the withdrawl and cravings period. I just didnt' eat any of that type of food and I was fine with it. I need to get back to that point. May will be our month. We can do this! No sugary carbs for either of us. Marie - I'm very glad that Kodiak is doing so well. And congratulations on another pound lost! :cp:  The other six will be off soon. (I know, not soon enough :) ) And isn't it so nice when DH actually works with you? Mine is also very supportive. In fact he's trying to lose some weight himself, so we can motivate each other. That helps when one of us doesn't want to walk at night. And right now I'm struggling to get below 190. I would like to be at 180 by the end of May, but I seem to be stuck right here. Kerry - Good luck on the negotiations. I hope you have a much better week this week. Did you have a good weekend with your family? And what do you do your web dev in? I used to design web sites. I enjoyed doing it, but I got tired of the customers. They wanted the world but didin't want to pay for it. Paige - I have an appointment with my doctor this week because of my allergies. My allegra prescription says only one a day, but I'm lucky if it lasts 12 hours. So I've been taking two a day. I read an article on taking bee pollen supplements for pollen allergies. I may try that too. Spring is my favorite time of year. But between the pollen in Spring, and the hay and grasses of summer, I really suffer this time of year. I'm afraid I may have to start on the shots, but that is a last resort. I'll let you know how the bee pollen goes. Judy & Joetta - I hope you have a wonderful week. And I hope everyone has a really teriffic month of May. Robin |
Paige--May is your month to shine :sunny: Mine, too, I hope! My scale jumped up a few pounds yesterday, due to TOM and to TOM-related sloppy eating last week. It took the glow off my most recent loss, but I'm not changing my ticker until next weekend, 'cuz I do think it's mostly water weight. But like you, I'm determined to have a great month ahead! My goal is to be under 225 by the end of the month. I will have to EPP, and step up my workouts.
Kim, good luck with South Beach! Have you seen a nutritionist? I've read that some people who have really aggressive exercise routines actually lose more weight by taking in a few more calories (especially healthy fats) a day. At any rate, I know you can tame your sweet tooth. Marie--how nice that you and your hubby passed the first 'test'! And congrats on losing another pound. Lori, don't you love your tape measure :) ? I'll be measured this weekend at Curves (monthly assessment), and next week at the doctor, when I can compare to where I was when I first saw her in despair last November. I know these will both give me an emotional boost. Robin, it's good to hear from you! And when we don't, I'll assume that you've only had time to read and not respond (which happens to me a lot when life is hectic). I hope things get better soon for you at work. Joetta, this goes for you, too! Speaking of which, I gotta get moving. I won't have time to walk this evening, so I will do my river walk this morning. It's my Curves day, but I don't want to deal with a gym bag today. I'm going to the Wizards-Bulls playoff game tonight--no overpriced, mediocre beer or nachos :corn: , just the snacks I pack this morning  If I give in, I can't blame it on TOM, just on my own lack of willpower in social situations....I can do it! See you tomorrow. Have a great day! judy |
Monday Again :(
I am so tired! The nieces wore me out! Four little girls can exhaust one aunt and uncle in 2 days for sure. I guess they gave me a good workout, but my back sure hurts from picking them up too much ;) We had a good time and enjoyed seeing all of them. I swam a bit but it wasn't sunny enough to work on my tan :( Of course I ate poorly, but tried not to eat too much of anything. I did manage to still lose a pound. I haven't been to the gym in quite a few days because I've been so busy and out of town. I hope to get back on track this week. DH will hopefully get more on my schedule sometime this week and start looking for a job to last through the summer.
Robin - the web dev I do is mostly by word of mouth and for govt things related to my brother. My brother is a Doctor who wants to be a politician. Right now he is starting a political organization and I am doing the web dev for him. I have a graphic designer I work with and I do all of the programming. I don't love it, but I know how to do it and seem to get asked to do it often. It's ok and it pays. ;) Marie - Congrats on the LOSS!! :cp: That's great the DH is being supportive I hope you two keep up the teamwork. Judy - Good luck at the game tonight staying on plan. I hope the scale jumps down for you ASAP! Lori - I am so sorry about DH's grandfather. I hope you see a loss on the scale soon, but that's great about the inches! :cp: Kim - Good luck with South Beach! If it works for you and you really need to kick the carbs - GO FOR IT!!! Joetta ???????????????? |
Hope everyone has had a skinny day!! I didn't have to work today so I had the house too myself which never happens. It was kind of nice to drop the kids off at school and know I could do whatever I wanted. So what did I do??? Went to the post office and dry cleaners after dropping the kids off. Then I came home and ate my breakfast and went out to the garage to find the tape measure and ended up cleaning the garage (just what I wanted to do on my day off). Next I headed off to go get curtain rods, flower pots, and a small fountain to set on the patio. When I got home I planted my herbs in the pots and ate lunch. Then I decided it was too late to start sewing the curtains so I took a little nap and woke up in time to watch Dr. Phil and Oprah (which I never get to do). That was how I spent my day off. Now I'm just waiting for DH and the kids to get home.
I've done pretty well staying on plan today, although it would have been really easy to snack while watching TV this afternoon. I had a minigoal today, NO DIET COKE!!!! I've done pretty darn good. I've had 4 16oz bottles of water today and I can tell the difference. Maybe if I can make it today I will be more motivated tomorrow to see if I can keep it going. I'm not giving up diet soda, I just really want to cut back and not drink so much of it. Tomorrow I have to got to a luncheon with my Principal. Hopefully it won't set me back too many points...I might have to tap into some of those 35 flex points. Kerry- Glad you had a good time with your family. Judy- I agree with you. May is our month! Have fun at the game tonight. Robin- Glad your back!!!! I can't use my computer at work for personal use either. It makes it hard to catch up in the evening...not to mention I have to fight with DH over who gets to use it first. Marie- It sounds like DH is more supportive about your diet. It really helps when they are on board with you giving you that support. Kim- Good luck with South Beach. I have several teachers at work that have had a lot of success with this plan. Lori- Sorry about DH's grandfather. My prayers are with you and your family. Well the hubby and the kids will be home soon so I had better get something going for dinner tonight. Take care ladies. |
It's late Monday, thank you all for the warm wishes! I'm just glad to not have to stare at those 30 plates of assorted cookies!
I had a lose on the scale this morning, 1 & 1/2 lbs, so no complaints here today! I of course at very poorly at dinner, no decent choices and we hadn't at all day! Lots to catch up on, so I'll try and keep this quick! Marie, way to go on the loss and keep DH in line ;) ! Paige, I am sooo jealous of your day off, I'ld pay good money to clean something and take a nap!!!! Glad to hear the snacking didn't get to you! Judy, let us know asap about how the measuring goes! It is such a mental boost after looking at the stupid scale!!! Have a great time at the game! Robin, looks like the work problems are not over yet! Hang in there!! My mom gets shots for her allergies, and it's a pain to run to the Dr. for the shots, but it's also a blessing too! Kerry, how's the job negotation going? And how is the Gym? Glad you had a great weekend and do me a favor, hook up a link to your post in the excersice forum, you were given some of the best advice I have ever seen! Kim, good luck with South Beach, I looked at that, but I just LOVE my breads way too much :D! I hope it works for you! OK, I'm going to get ready for bed, check in with you all tommorrow!!! |
Hi all, I hope your Monday went good. I, like Paige, had the day off and it was great. I worked on stained glass for most of the day and I did a little (really little) cleaning. I surfed for a while, then I took a nap. I was wonderful to have my house to myself during the day.
I stayed on plan and have eaten 1000 calories so far so tonight I get to have a small ice cream cone. Mmmm. It should be delicious. I also drank all my water, but I drank a lot of soda and tomorrow is weigh in. So, I have to drink more to flush some of the sodium out of my system. I’ll let you know how it goes. Robin, I love sweets of all kinds too. I found the only way is to avoid the pastries is to cold turkey them too. They are my weakness. Sorry about the no computer at lunch time. That would really stink. Mostly I come to 3FC in the evening but once in a while I’ll go while at work. I wouldn’t like a limitation on it. It is great when DH is supportive. I think I put him on a diet, though. He’s okay with that since he wants to lose 10 pounds. Judy, May is our month. I plan to lose and I hope it’ll be a lot. My one year anniversary of starting my diet is at the end of this month, and I’d like to get back to where I was at the beginning of November. That’s my mini-goal. Six pounds in one month is doable. I hope you were able to get your walk in. Hiking is my only liked way of exercising at the moment. Good luck on the measurements. Kerry, didn’t you know kids are exhausting. I’m glad that you had fun though. Way to go on the pound loss. Paige, great work on not snacking while watching TV. Home alone and bored (I have to be really bored to watch TV) is a downfall for me. I read your comment about Diet Coke and thought about all the Diet Pepsi I consumed today. It made me shake my head at myself. Good luck with the luncheon. Lori way to go on the 1.5 pound loss. That’s fabulous. Good luck through this week. Talk to you all tomorrow. Marie |
LORI!!! Yay! Way to go on the loss!! :cp: :cb: So you're over the hump and now you're going to start losing again. We're going to make that goal of 140 by May 30th.
Here is the link to the advice I got about exercising: LINK I am still wondering if I will ever lose this pooch under my belly button. I keep trying and working those muscles and DH says it is definitely smaller. I went to the tailor yesterday to have some clothes altered bc they're too big now. She says that she is taking out 2-3 inches of everything. So I guess that is good. I've probably lost more around my hips for sure than my belly. I think I'm going to hit 140 sooner than later, but I am still not happy with the shape of my body. Not really sure what to do about it, but I'm going to continue to work out and try to tone and build muscle. Maybe I'll see what I want eventually. I didn't win the lottery ladies :( Sorry! I tried though. Salary negotiations are a pain in the butt and there are some politics involved as well. It will get worked out and they will pay me what they are supposed to it just might take longer than I want. I'm still making more than I was since I'm working 8 more hours a week plus I have benefits so this is a huge step in the right direction. DH & I are talking about taking our trip to Maui in August so we can start trying to get pregnant again in the fall. Since I'm high risk, I don't want to fly at all while pregnant (thinking really positive here that I'll get pregnant before Dec). So I am really excited about all of this salary negotiations aside ;) I also think that I feel more confident trying again because I am in better health and at a better weight. I am also hopeful that I will be able to keep my weight under control while pregnant which I surely would have never done before now. Alright I'll shut up! :blah: I'm working the front desk this morning and it's quiet so I have lots of time to blab. I'm sorry that you ladies can't get on at work. I probably waste too much time on the Internet at my job, but so does my boss so there really aren't any limits around here! Plus being a librarian they can't really restrict my access. Have a great day ladies! |
Good Evening Chickies!!!
Kerry don't feel bad about the lower tummy! That is all me, I have never had a flat enough lower belly to see the bottom part of my six pack. But in due time it gets small enough that I don't much care anymore! I guess that has come with age and a few child bearing stretch marks that I wouldn't care to show off on the lower tummy! But, I will have to admit this is coming real close to beating my longest stretch of steady working out! If I keep up this pace just maybe I'll see a little of the lower abs six pack ;) ! And don't worry about the lottery, I had all intensions of trying again this week! A little secrect I didn't learn until after I was done having kids, you don't have to eat for two! That is such bull, no wonder we look like whales when were done! Just keep eating healthy and moving (walking, biking, and what ever else your doctor allows) In the mean time stick with the weights and cardio, your body will start changing shape! It is sooo wild to see it happen, you almost can't believe it! Oh and now I'm REALLY JEALOUS! Marie is napping toooo!!! :D Ok, tomorrow is my early day so I've got to get some things ready for the morning so we can get out the door on time!!! Check in with you tomorrow! |
Hey everybody!! Just a quick post because DH needs to finish a paper for class. I have decided that the worst 4 letter words I know are w-o-r-k and d-i-e-t. They both drive me crazy!!!!! Anyway I spent most of my time catching up since my last post yesterday and that took up my "allotted time" tonight. I'll check back in tomorrow night.
|
Southbeach is going really well so far. I've lost 7 of the 9 pounds I had gained back. The scale showed 153 this morning. I definitely won't be down to 140 by the end of May, but hopefully I'll be in the 140's somewhere. I'll even take 148. I'm still having a few cravings, but they're not as bad as they were. It's mainly when I'm checking out at a store that it's hard. I can tell that I'm going to get sick of eggs over the next 2 weeks, but I don't really like any of the other breakfast options. I mean cottage cheese is gross! After 2 weeks I can add back in fruit and oatmeal and whole grain bread so it will be much better!
Marie-Congrats on the loss!!!! That's wonderful! Robin-Did you make it O.K. through the withdrawals? They're rough, aren't they? They were on me anyway. Judy-I haven't seen a nutritionist. I'm a RN and I have had nutrition classes. I know what I'm supposed to do.....I just don't always do it, lol. I usually do eat a handful of almonds or 2 tbsp. of peanut butter after my workouts. It does help. Thanks for the great advice though. Paige-Good luck cutting back on the diet cokes. That's a hard one. I used to live off of those things. Somehow, I managed to wean myself off. I worked with a trainer for a couple of weeks a few months back and she had me drinking 120 oz. of water each day. I think that's when I quit sodas. I couldn't seem to fit them in. That was A LOT of water. Lori-Congrats on the 1 1/2 pounds! You're doing so good! Kerry-That would be awesome to take a trip to Maui...How fun! My son and I are taking our usual trip to Branson this summer. We always have so much fun there though. I can't wait! That was a great link you posted too....great info! Hope everyone has a great day! :D |
Real quickly--Hi, everybody! I had a good time at the game Monday night, we had fabulous seats, I didn't overeat, and the Wizards won, so a good night all around. Yesterday a co-worker surprised me with live Maine lobster, so I dispatched and boiled him last night (after naming him Sparky) and will be enjoying him for dinner again tonight.
I'm dealing with shin splints, though, so I will have to cut back on the walking :( . I have been going to Curves, which I don't think will be as aggravating to my legs as walking on concrete. Sorry this is so short, I'll come back for personals when I can. But I took the time to read al your posts, you're really helping me keep focused on my goal! judy |
Hi all, just a quick note to say that I'm still on plan and been doing good. Work has been busy so I'm exhausted at night. I have another day off tomorrow, so I'll probably write more then.
Kim, way to go on the weight loss. Sounds like SB is helping you. Judy, I hope your legs start to feel better. That sure does make exercising hard. Talk to you all tomorrow. Marie |
I'm still on plan also. My bodies a little achy today, and I think it's telling me I need to take a day off from exercise. Even though South beach isn't supposed to be low carb, it's a lot less carbs than what I'm used to. I figure I need to take it a little easier on the exercise during the first two weeks, while I'm getting over the cravings. I wasn't thinking about it until I went to the gym twice yesterday and did over 2 hours total. I'm paying for it today. I'm feeling so much better mentally though. It's amazing how much better you feel when you don't eat all of that processed junk. I've got to work a 12 tonight and tomorrow night and I've already cooked my chicken breasts and for tonight I've made a big salad and packed some almonds, some spinach, and some string cheese. I'm loving this. I just found out we're having another potluck at work Sunday though. I swear those girls will look for any excuse to eat junk food. I pray I'll have enough willpower to stay on program. Wish me luck girls!
Judy-hope your legs feel better soon. I'm glad you had a good time at the game. Marie-hope you're enjoying your day off! |
Hey Chickies!
Looks like a busy week for all!!! Way to go Kim, but yes don't over work it, the first two weeks are pretty strict! Judy, that's awful about the splints, I've heard they are very painful! Hope that goes away soon! Glad to hear you had fun at the game! Marie, glad your still doing good with DH home!! And let me just mention about jealousy, first naps, now days off. I'm starting to think I need to look for a new job :D !!! Speaking of jobs, we got a new phone system at work today, CRAZY, they were working, then not, the training left many unanswered questions, and alot of people on eternal hold until I figured out how to relocate them! But it wasn't too bad, most customers got a chucle out of my "give my your number, we got new phones today" line. I got some frustrating news last night, my renters (my sister-in-law) are going to be moving at the end of the summer. It is good for her, but now I have to get a grip and decide which place I want to keep. I don't think I want to be a land lord any more, thank goodness she was family and was extra understanding when there was a problem. We had to pay for repairs out of pocket, we weren't making any money from them. So we have some big decisions to make in the next couple of months! The worst thing, no matter which place we keep they both need work! Ok, I'm going to get my work done, CSI night tonight! |
I splurged tonight!
DH says that I probably didn't go over on calories I just ate a lot in one sitting which is unusual anymore. We went out to eat for Cinco de Mayo. I had a margarita, one chick taco and one chick tostada but didn't eat that shell. I had an enchilada on my plate too but boxed it up for lunch tomorrow! ;) I'd only had 500 cal today up until then so I probably didn't go over on calories today and don't really want to eat anymore tonight. DH & I needed to go out and do something. We've been in a rut and decided tonight that we need to have more fun together. That is our goal for the summer: enjoy our time together more and have fun!
I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday. I'm going to have to watch it though because DH is DJing tomorrow and I have such a hard time staying away from the Martinis at the club! I am looking forward to getting dressed up and going out though! It's been quiet around here. I hope everyone's doing well. I've not been exercising as much this week because I've been busy, tired and generally making excuses. I'm getting back on the program this weekend. (I have been once this week though and went walking one other day) I'll check back in tomorrow. It'll be FRIDAY!!! :hat: |
Hey everyone!!! Just a quick post.... Hubby and I are having issues about computer time!!!!! I had my weigh in today and I lost 3.6lbs. !!!! I feel like I have finally gotten past that plateau I hit in April. I have lost a total of 38lbs. and 32 on my offical WW card. I also hit (went past, actually) my 10% WW goal and got my WW key chain!!! Yipee!!! Next week is our last at work meeting and then we will need to join at WW location. Several of us are going to go together on Saturday mornings. If hubby will let me back on later I will try to respond to all the posts! If not I will tomorrow. Hang in there everyone!!!!

Tgif!!!
Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY!!! :D
I am so glad that it's Friday and to top it off we have worked out the details of my salary. Still some issues to work through with benefits enrollment, but I am sure that it will get taken care of before they actually kick in. I've fallen off the exercise wagon and am feeling bad about it. I've gotta get back in the groove. I hope everyone else is doing well. :) Have a great weekend and I'll check in to see how you're all doing! |
Yea, it's finally FRIDAY!!!
I'm sooo bad, I slept in this morning!! I could just kick my slef sometimes!!! Paige, tell DH if he dosen't share he will have to consider a lap top purchase :D !!! Way to go on the loss, 10% is awsome!!! Are they going to pick the meetings back up when school starts again in the fall?? Kerry, don't worry about falling off the wagon, just get your butt back on a.s.a.p., or you'll keep dragging your feet. I'm an expert at falling off the work-out wagon  !!!! Way to go on the salary negotiations! I went out to our old house with DH tonight and wound up mowing the grass! Talk about no life on a Friday night!! I need to work out, it's really getting late, so I'll check in tomorrow, lots of yard work planned! |
Hey everyone!!!! Awfully quiet around here!!!! Hi Kerry and Lori!   I have a busy weekend planned. DH is graduating!!!!! About damn time!!!! It only took 16 years!!! Now if he just knew what he wanted to do when he grows up we would be set!!!!! Anyway I hope everyone has great plans lined up for the weekend! I'll check back in later.

I'm still on program girls. I've got lots of temptations ahead of me over the next 36 hours though. Tonight, my sister and I are taking my mom out for a Mother's Day dinner. I'm the designated driver so maybe I won't be quiet as tempted. Tomorrow night is another birthday potluck at work, and it's on Sunday which is the hardest day for me. Today was day 7 of South Beach. I'm definitely ready for Phase 2. I'm missing my fruit filled yogurt, Fiber One cereal, and oatmeal.....7 more days.....I can do it!
Paige-WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO on the 3.6 pound weight loss! That's awesome! Lori-Sleeping in is great every once in a while. I did the same thing today, and unfortunately I didn't have time to work out. I'm usually a slacker working out on the weekends anyway. They tend to be so busy since I work most of them. Kerry-Congrats on working out the salary negotiations. I know that has to be such a relief. You can get right back on that exercise wagon. Think how much better you'll feel. Since I didn't work out today, I guess I should listen to my own advice, lol. |
Good Evening Chickies!!!
I just finished working out and it's 11:30 pm my time! We busted butt today clearing brush at our old house! We worked from about 10 am to 4 pm. I came home to get a bite to eat, and fell asleep for almost 2 hours! (it has to be bad for me to nap!) I normally lay around, but usually never fall asleep! It's funny how working-out has taken the need for a nap away. I used to be the cat nap queen, but I still get that dragging butt feeling at the end of the day. But now I come home and work-out and get a whole new string of energy! Man everybody must have been busy today, not many posts! Oh I'm gonna fall off my chair laughing, the cat is snoring! Have you ever??? Yea, she's all mine, I could take the paint off the ceiling when I'm really tired. Paige, congratulations on DH graduating!! I still have issues with knowing what I want to be when I grow up!!! I wonder if you ever really figure that out? Although I tell everybody that if we get recycled after death, I'm comming back as a lazy fat cat!!! What a life, lay on my bed all day, be feed whith out doing any work, have some one else clean up poop, and not have any bills to worry about! Kim, good luck with the second week! I have some serious will power, but not enough for South Beach!!! Ok, even whith the nap today I'm still feeling the need to get to bed! I'll check back tomorrow!!! |
Sunday Already??
Well I'll be honest, I've fallen off the wagon. I still haven't been to the gym and I ate just awful yesterday. I was a bit hung over and it felt good to eat what I wanted and there was no way I was dragging my sorry *** to the gym with a headache. Plus my nasal allergies are making me stuffy and miserable!
I did lay out in the sun and work on my tan yesterday which helps me so much to feel better about myself. I know it's shallow, but it works for me - it has since I was about 14! I know I won't be as awful today, but I'll get back on plan tomorrow for sure. New week new attitude. Today I have to do some web work, work on my tan a little ;) and go to the Super Wal-Mart because we need everything from printer paper to coffee. Thank God I got paid more!! :D So that I can afford one of those trips to the Wally World where you check out and *gasp* at the total! I hope you're all doing better than me. I think I needed to stop taking it so seriously for a few days and cut loose. I was feeling really uptight and stuffy about the whole losing weight thing. Now I have a chance to start again instead of keep going and for some reason that feels better and more doable. If only it were Saturday again or weekends were longer. . . *sigh* |
Good Moring Chickies! Happy Mother's Day!!!!
Well it's just beautiful and I have a ton of things to do! Just wanted to say hey! And Kerry, tomorrow is another day, but your right, it's not another Sat.! Hope this weeks goes better for you getting back on the wagon and in the swing of things. I'm also doing a wally world trip today too! YUCK!!! Ok, I'm going to run, I'll check back tonight!!! |
Kerry-don't worry about this weekend. It happens to me all the time. It's funny that you said that about being uptight and stuffy about the losing weight thing because my mom and sister just told me last night that I worried entirely too much about it. I think we do need to cut ourselves some slack every once in a while. We need to enjoy life too. I'd be miserable if I ate "healthy" 100% of the time. I do love my chocolate.
Well, I made it through last night and didn't cheat. I ate a grilled chicken breast and green beans and even passed on the glass of wine. So far, so good today too. Tonight will be the true test. Wish me luck! 6.5 more days of Phase I......hurry please! |
