Whew! Lots of good comments, support and suggestions. I'm definitely trying out the chicken broth to curb hunger tip. I sear I could have eaten a horse yesterday. Luckily I managed to get by with a bunch of 1 point snacks, but in my journal it looks like I totally pigged out! Doing better today by drinking more water.
Tonight I am trying the feta chicken on the recipe board. Had anyone made this before? It sounds decadent and only 4 points, I believe! I'll let you all know how it works out.
What's this about AI having the wrong numbers up last night?!?! I watched the show, but I never vote so I didn't notice. I'll have to read up on it. Are they all singing again tonight? Crazy.
Oh...I forgot to mention. I have a seperate cupboard for my son's snacks. It works great for me. Even he knows they are off-limits to momma and will tell me "Mine!" whenever I even open the door. This is the ONLY time I let him get by with talking back to me! haha! Leave it to a 3 year old to keep me on plan!
Well, it's back to work for me. Only 10 minutes until lunch time. Wish me luck girls. It's "that time of the month" (sorry if that's TMI) and I swear I could eat my weight in junk food right now. I think I'm going to grab a salad somewhere. Any suggestions?
Deanne, it took my husband and I 2 years to get pregnant. We had given up. Then with the second one it only took 2 months. Go figure. I don't blame you for wanting to lose weight first though. Good luck!
Kery, My husband suggested that too. Have my own shelf and they have theirs. Maybe I could cover theirs up some how! HEHE!
Lynn, Good afternoon! Are they doing the whole show over tonight (American Idol)? I missed most of it last night, so I wouldn't mind if they did.
Everyone else! Hello! Hope your day is an easy one!
Kim
Wait, wait, I'm not in full harmony here, my cycle just ended! *lol*
(Does it happen to everyone to get hungry right before their period, though? I used to feel like this as well, craving sugar and stuff like there's no tomorrow, but when I got on the pill it totally stopped this, as well as being bloated and having cramps. Somehow I wonder if I didn't have some hormonal imbalance before, and it somehow fixed it. I'm going to cross my fingers for it to go on this way!)
Kim - Yes you should try that Or placing the snacks in a cupboard too high for you to reach perhaps, but if I remember well your children are still a bit too young to be taller than you, so they also couldn't reach their food there? (Now, of course, if some healthy food happens to leak in the snacks cupboard... )

Yup...we're all either PMSing, just finishing, or just starting. Weird. Ok, I know this is going to be TMI but I have to tell someone. This was sooo embarassing. A few minutes ago, Nic and I were "doing stuff" to put it nicely. We finished so I got up to turn the AC on. I realized the window was open. Now, I live in a compound with about 30 villas. We have 3 guards at the front as well as the 2 guards that live here. The villas are very close. Alot of the people here leave their front doors open to let in fresh air. I don't even want to show my face anymore. There are villas in the middle of the compound that house my husbands coworkers. This is SO embarassing. Anyway, sorry I had to vent.
Ok, I cant sleep now. So, Im watching Friends reruns. I was thinking that we would have to get up at 3am to get Nic off to work. I forgot hes off of work tomorrow! His first day off in 2 weeks. YAY!! We're going to go to the Animal Souq(market) tomorrow. I want to look for a bunny. I wanna get one and name it Cadbury. Its silly but better than me eating a cadbury egg!!
Other than PMS'ing, I'm doing pretty good. I wound up at Jack in the Box for lunch...bad, I know! I ordered a Classic Chicken Ciabatta (sp?) sandwich thinking it looked hamless...well, I was wrong. 10pts! And it wasn't even good. I could have had a burger for that many points! Darn it! I was figuing it at 6-7, but dwlz.com says 10. Oh well, live and learn I guess. Now I really have to watch it tonight.
Oh, and I meant to respond to your earlier comment about taking awhile to get pregnant. It happened that way for us too. I was at my wits end with charting and all that. Decided to stop charting, took a B12 vitamin everyday and 2 months later got pregnant. Granted, it took us 2 years, but it DID finally happen. I think sometimes it's just fate.

Dina...I have heard so many stories about women that chart and everything, get fed up, stop and then they get pregnant!! Im sure that we'll try again soon. I just want to be healthy before I bring another life into the world.
Jack in the Box sounds so yummy right now! Hehe...I have been there one time. We didnt have them in Mississippi.
Deanne, YOU GO GIRL! You gave me a huge laugh. It isn't funny to you, I know, But it sounds like something that would happen to me. Thanks for sharing!
No Jack in the Box here. Deanne is right we don't have them in Mississippi. I have seen them passing by on trips though.
And as far as our cycles go.........the more we communicate, the closer our cycles will get. Always happens. HEHE!
Kim
Deanne--I hope you are still not red with embarrassment. You will be the popular roomie after that for a while. I guess you have to be extra careful around those windows/doors living so close to others! Yikes! By the way, how did that interview go, or did you go? By the way I like your signature line!
Kim--When it comes to my kids I try to encourage them to eat healthy snacks too, because the truth is, do they really need to eat cookies or chips? I know, I know--I have some in my house too "for the kids"! That is part of the reason I buy individual wrapped sweets and salties, so that I really have to make an effort to get in a bag and if I do its a smaller serving. Surely I won't open 2 or 3 single serving bags. I know it can happen, but it does make you think. Also, rather then buying regular cookies you can get things like graham crackers or animal crackers, and things liked baked chips--so even the kids are not eating as bad as they could be. Or how about granola bars? The thing that I feel bad about, is that I did give my kids some of my bad habits with wanting sweets and snacks so often. So I have been encouraging them to pay attention to servings sizes--and choose healthier snacks that they like, such as carrots and low-fat veggie dip. Just some ideas. But you have to ask yourself--am I doing my kids a favor by thinking they should have snacks that aren't healthy? I am guilty! Wish I would have changed that sooner!
Txlawchic—Good luck on that challenge! Let us know how that goes! Water is always good—so that is an excellent tip. We should all strive for 8 to 10 cups at least! Guzzle up!
Dina—I know what you mean about the boards, it’s a chatty day here! I was only away a few hours, and wowee!
Girly2004—Your broth tip is great! I have heard that filling up on soup before eating a meal is helpful too. So that is a similar idea. The only thing that some people have to be careful of is the sodium. But so far, I don’t have too much of an issue with that—plus there are low-sodium broth options.
Lynn—How is the shake thing working for you in the mornings? Isn’t that what you said you were going to try? I do slim fast in the morning like Deanne. I have been drinking slim fast for breakfast for more than 5 years. I do like them, and now they have lower-sugar options that are pretty good.
Kery—How are you doing? What is the weather like in France right now?
I was feeling really tired this afternoon. What is wrong with me? I hate that! I think I haven’t been going to bed soon enough. I am such a night owl—and I just can’t help it. Well maybe I can, but habits are hard to break. I have always been this way. I stay up till nearly 2am every night, and need to wake up at least by 8am. I guess that isn’t too bad. But I should do better. That sure doesn’t help me to get motivated with my exercise. By the way, do any of you exercise in the morning? I have heard over and over again that morning exercisers do much better in the long term. But how do you get that started when you tend to be a slow-morning riser? I really want to change that. I need to do more exercise then two days at the pool. That is great—but I don’t think it is enough. I think I need to add at least one more day, and then maybe I will work my way up to 5 or 6 days over time. That’s my goal!
I hope you are all having a happy and healthy day! Keep posting!
Hi Karen! You make a great point about giving your kids sweets. I've totally been guilty of that one! I try to give Niko mostly healthy treats, but he's a sucker for M&M's...and unfortunately so am I. We were using them as rewards for potty training, but for the same reasons you pointed out, I've switched to Disney stickers. Work just as well and I don't have the urge to "treat" myself everytime he poops!
Deanna - Good for you for wanting to be healthy when you get pregnant. It will definitely help. I was also trying to lose weight and exercise more and I totally think it had something to do with it. Unfortunately, it the good habits didn't carry over once I got pregnant. I gained 70 pounds! I'm still not at my pre-poregnancy weight. That's alot of the reason I am here. Whatever you do, DO NOT give in to the Dairy Queen pregnancy hormone!
Deanne - Don't be embarrassed! Okay, so I'm totally jealous of your little encounter! Makes me miss Zach tons. You were totally cracking me up at work though. Thank goodness my office door was closed.

Karen- Nic and I were just excited to both be awake and none of the roommates were here. We had the whole house to ourselves. So, we didnt have to keep the volume down. I seriously dont want to go outside anymore. I will just live the rest of my life in this room!!
I too am a night owl. I love being awake at night when the house is quiet. This is also the time when I binge too. So, I need to change the night owl thing too.
Dina- We actually have a dairy queen here. A dairy queen in the Middle East. Yuck. It is the nastiest thing...EVER. So, I wont have to worry about that!
Kim- That is so true! In high school, my girlfriends and I had our periods at the same time. I'm glad I gave you a laugh. Nic thought it was funny too! Ok, ok so its sort of funny. Ill still spend eternity in this room
I have a question for those of you on WW. Do you ever feel guilty for using your flex points? Even if I go just 3 points over, I feel guilty!
Ok, almost 1am and Im still up. Not good. Ill probably be up for a while though. I took my zoloft late today so now im wired.

Haha Dina!!! The worst thing is...the guards sit out side. About 50ft from our villa. Ugh. You know how when you dont know another language but for some reason you know the bad words? Well, the guards dont know english because they're from Nepal. Well, Im pretty sure they understood what was being said. Great.
