"The Valentinies"

Hi Everyone!

We were formerly under the heading, "The Merry Christmas Challenge," and we all did very well during the holidays. Now it's time to start a new thread called "The Valentinies," with the emphasis on tiny. :) Anyone can join. Here are the rules: Have a food plan, exercise, drink water and have a goal (inches or weight.) I plan to count cals, do 30 or more minutes per day, drink 8 glasses of water and my goal is to lose 8 inches.

We will start Jan. 2, 2005 and end on Valentine's Day. Who's up for the challenge?

(Hugs),
Dena

Count me in!

Hello. I would love to join "The Valentine's"! Although my holiday was very unsucessful for weight loss, I plan on a re-start on January 2nd. So, I would love to be challenged. My goals are to stick to the weight watchers points, excercise 30 or more minutes a day, drink 8 glasses of water, and lose 8 pounds (155) by February 14th (what a wonderful present for me and my bf) :o . Congrats to the both of you for your commitment over the holidays and your losses, I know that must feel like a huge achievment. I look forward to getting to know both of you and anyone else who joins in. Good luck to everyone. Dena, I too will be celebrating the New Year, but you definetly deserve a day off! Talk to you soon.........

Happy New Year to everyone!!! :hat:

Good morning, ladies

Well, since I dropped the ball on Dena's Christmas challenge, I hope I don't get voted off! :D I would like to lose between 5-10 pounds by Valentines Day. I'm on the WW point system and concentrate on cardio and strength building for my exercise. Plus, my family and I are joining a walking club this year as well. My motivation here is that I got a beautiful emerald ring (my birthstone) for Christmas and it's a little snug-but that's not stopping my from wearing it! Hee, hee. However, I would like a better fit for my ring. Here's my plan:
30 minutes exercise everyday
stay within my WW points
8-10 glasses of water a day
daily check ins here and w/others

Dena-thanks for the challenge. I assure you I will stay on track this time!
Bonnie-at 200! Congrats! :cheer: You go, girl! That's my next goal!
Well, gotta run. Going shopping w/oldest DD. Some one on one time. Good luck, ladies!

Den@ 12-31-2004 03:57 PM

Hi Valentinies!

Good Morning, Ladies!

Glad to see you back, Bonnie and Skinny! And welcome, Cole! Our little group did a great job motivating and inspiring each other last challenge, and I know we will do the same this time around.

I love all of your plans and goals.

Bonnie, congratulations on losing 34 pounds so far!! We are all so proud of you. You worked hard and now it is showing!! :bravo:

Cole, so happy to meet you and welcome! I know you'll reach your goal with flying colors. Like you said, what a great valentine present for you and your boyfrined! So what are you and your boyfriend doing for New Year"s?

Skinny, welcome back, girl! What a great plan! Plus, I love the idea of your whole family joining a walking club. (Hubby and I like to walk, too,) Wow, your ring sounds fabulous! So glad you could join us! :)

As for me, my original goal was to lose 10 lbs., but I lost 4 lbs. I am now 146, starting from 177. It seems each pound is a lot harder to lose these days. So now I'm going to concentrate on inches. I know I lost inches from all the exercising I do, because my clothes fit better, and I'm proud of that considering the holidays.

Anyone else interested in joining us, please do!

(Hugs),
Dena

Hugs,
Dena

Florafae 01-01-2005 06:28 PM

Happy New Year, everyone!

I’m ready to join the Valentines. I’m going to start on Monday. My goal is to lose two pounds per week, which will work out to twelve pounds over six weeks. I plan to increase my minutes on the stationary bike, walk more, eat healthy foods, and stay within my daily calorie limit.

During the Christmas Challenge I set an over-ambitious goal of 20 lbs. I don’t know exactly what I was thinking when I picked that figure. It would have worked out to 4 pounds or more a week. But, it’s not the goal-weight that matters, it’s the results, and the great news is that I lost a total of 13 pounds during the Challenge! :hat: I am thrilled.

I know I’ve probably gained back a pound or two during my hiatus from Christmas to New Year, but I’m just so pleased to have lost weight during the Holidays.

Dena, I want to thank you for choosing Valentine’s Day as our next challenge. What I learned from the Merry Christmas Challenge is that it’s much easier for me to lose weight when I set a short-term goal. I have a long way to go, and it can be really discouraging when I start thinking about how much I need to lose overall to reach my healthy weight. Setting mini-goals, however, is not only do-able, but it keeps me motivated.

I’m looking forward to the next six-weeks.

Florafae,
I'm so glad you found us! I was worried some of our buddies from our little group couldn't find us because there are so many other threads happening right now. (It's good to know we are all trying to do well for the new year.)

Congratulations on your successful weightloss so far! I think you've lost the most! That's so awesome! What an accomplishment during the holidays! :bravo:

Hugs,
Dena

Cole63 01-03-2005 09:46 AM

I hope that everyone had a safe and happy new year. Now it is time to get back on track, for me. Today is a new day and I am commited to my goals for the next 6 weeks! I am so proud of all of you who lost over the holiday season, unfortunately I did not, but I also did not gain so I guess that is a good thing. The fact that all of you had so much will power gives me hope!

Dena-my bf and I spent New Year's at one of his friends house. It was pretty low key, a lot of fun, and too much to drink! Why is it that the older you get the harder a hang over is to recover from? What did you do for New Year's?

tobaccygirl- 34 pounds? What an accomplishment. You should be so proud of yourself. We need to all plan to buy something sexy for Valentine's day to show off our new, skinnier figures! How did you do over the New Year weekend? I was not very good, but I am starting anew this week, I promise!!!

Gotta get back to work. Have a great and healthy day :^:

KandiceS 01-03-2005 12:06 PM

Dena! Great to see you again! Thanks for setting this up. Congrats to you for the christmas challenge. time to post some pictures!

Bonnie- 200?! come on! just 1 lb more! Congrats! :cheer:

Flora- nice to see you back too!

me- I went to Maine last week and so I restart this AM but to my suprise this morning I was only 1 lb heavier on my bathroom scale than when I left on the 26th. My goal is 175. Trying to achieve the wedding goal before the wedding- so 9 lbs. I am wearing a size 14 pant today- which is comfy not tight by any means, and a size M sweater! wow! did ya'll see my post about 44 inches lost since I started in June? I wonder where that came from? :?: kinda hard to believe I was that big- that's nearly 4 feet!

Looking forward to starting up with all of you again- and meeting some new people too!
Happy new year!

KandiceS 01-03-2005 02:28 PM

oh- forgot how I'm going to do it... Still sticking to my low carb, 8 glasses of water, and 30 minutes of exercise per day. I'll probably drop back down on phase 1- 20 carbs for a while since my weight loss is slowing down too. Hello Body, I'm not done yet! :)

and the curves scale at noon showed 182 today... :D

we still going to weigh in on Mondays?

Florafae 01-03-2005 03:56 PM

Dena, Kandice, Bonnie, and Skinny-Butt, I’m so glad to be back with you again on our latest challenge. :) Cole, welcome to the fold. This is a wonderful group. You’ll find lots of support, motivation and encouragement here.

This is day-one for me, so I stepped on the scale this morning and logged my starting weight. As expected, I was up 2.5 pounds since our last weigh-in, but I hope to lose most of that this coming week.

I’m feeling so positive. I woke up thinking that 2005 is the year that I will finally reach a healthy weight and maintain it!

Good luck to us all, :goodscale

And we're off running~~

Hi Everyone!

Well, here's to a great start! I'm pretty excited and very happy to see our little group come together. If anyone else is interested in joining us, please do.

Kandice, so good to see you again! Wow, you lost a whole person in those inches!! :bravo:

Cole, you asked what we did on New Year's... Well, I live in fabulous Las Vegas, where New Year's is BIG, so first we went out to dinner, then partied at Green Valley Casino (a plush hot spot for locals), then saw the fireworks along the strip and stayed out until 2:30 am. Hubby and I had a great time!

Now it's back to business. I'm counting my cals on fitday.com, have gotten my Slim in 6 exercise dvd to play today and am going to drink my 8-10 glasses of water.

Kandice, yes, we will weigh and/or measure ourselves on Monday and report our progress.

Good luck, everyone!
Hugs,
Dena

skinny_butt 01-04-2005 10:19 AM

Happy New Year, ladie!

I completely forgot to weigh myself so I will post weight tomorrow. Sorry! Anyway, here's the past three days:
Saturday-On point (OP), 35 minute walk, 8 glasses of water
Sunday-OP, 60 minute walk, 8 water
Monday-under point, 60 minute walk, 8 water.

I feel like I'm truly back on track now. I have another thread in which we weigh in on the 15th and 30th so I'll have to remind myself to weigh in weekly for this one!

Dena-congrats on your Christmas challenge weight loss! Way to go! :cp: :bravo:

Bonnie-congrats to you as well! :cp: :bravo: You two ladies are inspirational for me!

Kandice-When is the wedding? Hang in there. I'll bet you meet your wedding goals w/no problems. 44 inches? WOW! You're doing great! Kudos to you! :cheer:

Cole-forgot to say welcome last time I was here. How are you doing? Hope things are going well for you.

Florafee-welcome back! Like you, I have a feeling that this is the year that I will finally meet my weight loss/healthy lifestyle goals. We will thrive in 2005! How does that sound? :D

Well, ladies, gotta get to work. Hope everyone is having a good health day. Remember the words of Winston Churchill-Never give in. Never, never, never give in! We can do it!

Susan

KandiceS 01-04-2005 12:00 PM

skinny- congrats on staying OP or UP for the weekend.

I'm planning on exercising at lunch in 10 minutes- my gym bag in in the car so no excuse! will be my second time this year. I'm made a personal goal for myself to exercise at least 200 times this year. (at Curves) they track your visits so I should have 300 or more by the end of the year. 5x a week for 52 weeks= 260 So I'm allowing myself some "fudge" factor when we go on vacations and things like that.

wedding's in 8 weeks= March 5th, 2005. 2 months from tomorrow. It's coming so fast! I sent out the invites yesterday and finishing them today and tomorrow (the ones that we were planning on hand delivering for one reason or another) My dress is already altered but I'm seeing the most change in my thighs so those don't affect the dress. I bought a bikini for the first time ever for our Honeymoon March 13th to the Bahamas. Chris already saw it when I was trying it on and he liked it very much. :o

that's it for now I guess. Talk to everyone later!

Florafae 01-04-2005 12:54 PM

Kandice, only 8 weeks until the big day--Wow! Congratulations on your bikini. A Bahamas honeymoon sounds heavenly. :sunny:

Skinny-B, you’re off to a great start. I agree that it feels good to be back on course and working toward healthy goals. Yes, we will thrive in 2005!

The last of our holiday company leaves tomorrow. I enjoyed having everyone here, but now I am quite ready for things to get back to normal. A week ago, when the second wave of guests arrived, I moved my exercise bike to the garage. I intended to use it out there, but it remained out-of-sight and out-of-mind. Tomorrow morning after I return from dropping people off at the airport, the bike comes inside and I’ll start pedaling up a storm.

Have a good day, everyone. :flow2:
Florafae

Cole63 01-04-2005 01:43 PM

Well, it sounds like everyone is off to a great start to the new year. I love "thrive in 2005", that is perfect. Hopefully this will be the year that we will all make our goals!

Dena-Las Vegas? Wow, that sounds like fun. So, I guess life is never boring there! That sounds like so much fun. Sounds like you are back on track and ready to go. I am the same way, I have stuck to my weight watchers points and hopefully it will show on the scales!

Skinny butt- You are doing so good. I see you are also on Weight Watchers points. I have found this to be the best way to change my eating habits, because you can eat what you want as long as you stay within your points! And a walking club with your family is a great idea, you can get some Q.T. with your family and everyone gets excercise! I am trying to make my mom walk with me when I get home from work. She is just really tired and trying to make dinner, so she dosen't ever want to go, but it is so much quicker and more fun when someone goes with you. Oh well, I will have to stick it out by myself until she comes around

Kandice-that is a great plan to bring your clothes to work, I might have to start doing that, then I will not have any excuse not to work out! Sounds like you are almost ready for that wedding-how exciting, and to be so skinny, too :) I am sure that your fiance is so proud of you. I know that you will meet all of your goals and have a perfect body for that bikini ;)

Florafae-I know what you mean about getting back on track, it is hard when you have company around, you feel like you are imposing on them if you leave to go work out! But, it sounds like you are ready to commit again and make your V-Day goal and I know you will do a great job.

Hope everyone is having a good day. I have stuck to my points today, had a heavy lunch, so I will have to be careful at dinner. Biggest Loser season finale is tonite, does anyone else have that guilty pleasure? Good luck for the rest of the day~Nicole

KandiceS 01-04-2005 02:02 PM

so here's our goals:

Dena- 8 inches
Cole- 8 lbs
Skinny- 7.5 lbs (between 5- 10)
Bonnie- 5 lbs
Flora- 12 lbs (2 lbs/ week)
Kandice- 9 lbs
Sweetpea- 15 lbs
DewCan- 10 lbs

Cole- Yup I watch the Biggest Loser- love it! I got Chris into watching it too. He actually reminded me "today is the show" Not the finale though is it? I thought there were 2 more shows? A little concerned about how fast they're losing and how hard they're working for it because it doesn't seem to be realistic or able to maintain it. How many people- us even- work out for 4 hours spinning? My 30 minutes a day is fine by me!

Oh,sweetpea 01-04-2005 03:25 PM

May I be a Valen-"tiny", too??

Hi Valentines,
I am new to 3FC and have been spending the last 4 days trying to find my way around! I would really love to settle down into one group before I get lost forever! I love the idea of mini goals/challenges. Looking at a smaller picture works best for me!

Sweetpea's Challenge:
I will stick to my diet daily.
I will achieve 30 minutes of aerobics and 30 minutes of strength training every day.
I will drink 64oz H20 every day.
I will lose 15 pounds by Valentine's Day.
I will log in to this Thread daily and be a positive support member for fellow Valen-
tinies!

Den@ 01-04-2005 03:37 PM

Week 1

Well, sounds like everyone is doing great so far.

I'm doing a combination of counting cals and The South Beach Diet, where you don't eat many carbs. So far so good. I also plan on heading to the gym right after I type this. Need to get back on the treadmill. I find I sleep better when I do. I'm on my 3rd glass of water, so 5 more to go.

Kandice, thank you for bringing us up to date on our goals. It's good to see everyone's plans. And we shall accomplish those! Also, congrats on your wedding plans. It sounds so exciting. I remember I was a wreck by the time my wedding date came around with all the stuff that needs to get done. Sounds like you are doing everything right! Especially losing weight and taking care of yourself! :^: And the Bahamas sounds wonderful!!

Cole, I walk by myself a lot, except for weekends, when hubby and I walk together. Otherwise, I have to motivate myself to get out there. Before we got too busy with the holidays, I would get up early and go for my walk first thing. I got to get back to that habit again. Let's motivate each other. :^: I also watched Big Fat Loser on TV before the holidays. Who is winning? Blue or Red team?

Flora, glad everyone is going home. I know what you mean... before Christmas it was easier to get going. Now it's time to get inspired and get back on our statonary bikes, treamills or just start walking. It's nice to get back into our regular routines.

Susan, congrats to your for being back on program and on track. Together it will get easier! You're doing a great job!

OK, ladies, gotta run.
Bye for now.
Hugs,
Dena

Cole63 01-05-2005 08:18 AM

:coffee: Good morning, everyone! Hope everyone had a good nite. I stayed right on points and even got a walk in when I got home from work. It helps to have a dog, they get to where they expect to be walked and if you don't, you feel guilty!

Kandice-I thought last night was the season finale, I can't keep up b/c they didn't even have the show on for 2 weeks, that really confuses me. I wonder why they do that, they are doing that with desperate housewives too. (obviously you see a trend, my guilty pleasure is silly tv shows-lol) I enjoyed watching last night's show, but agree with you. If I were put on the ranch with a trainer, controlled environment, and endless time to workout I would lose 50 pounds too. Don't know how healthy it is and how they will do in the real world, but I guess we will see. Who do you want to win? I like Gary, I think he has come the farthest with his attitude. But, I saw a picture of all of them in people magazine and it looks like Ryan will be the Biggest Loser-you could barely recognize him!

tobaccygirl-Good luck with that Christmas and V-Day weight loss. I am right there with you. I had originally set a Christmas goal for myself, but then lost track of things once family came in town and a big plate of sweets was set in front of me. I also had a bit of a gain, but we will just have to work extra hard to get it off-we CAN do it

Sweet Pea-Welcome! I know you will do great. It is important to have a support system like this to help you along in your weight loss journey. I am hoping that this will make the difference for me!

Dena- I know what you mean about the walking, it is hard but I am going to have to force myself to do it when I get home from work or early in the morning. It is like there are not enough hours in the day, I swear if I had one more hour I would use it to work out! On the biggest loser, they don't have teams anymore it is all personal weight loss now, but I think overall the red team won, prob. b/c their trainer kicked their butts!

OK, back to work! Everyone have a great and healthy day ;)

KandiceS 01-05-2005 08:28 AM

Cole- I want Gary to win- his attitide is a big thing. I really thought that Kelly was going home last night. Moe looks wonderful! 20 more lbs and wanting to lose 100 in 2005! I think Ryan will win too- he looks good too of course but I don't like his do anything to win attitude. Poor Moe should have won the treadmill.

Dena- don't get me wrong- I'm am stressed with the planning but it all seems like it's coming together pretty much on it's own. we were engaged for 13 months and started early. actually bought my dress 16 days after getting engaged and booked the chapel and reception hall that same weekend. So we've had the luxury of having a few off months.

Sweetpea- of course! welcome! Hope you enjoy our group!

Bonnie- I didn't count that because I know you'll lose the christmas weight in no time! keep going! :cheer:

back to curves at lunch time- my bag's in the car again...

skinny_butt 01-05-2005 09:58 AM

Good morning, ladies

Hope everyone is having a great health day! I was under point again but only by 1.5 pts. Don't worry; we're ordering pizza here at the office tomorrow for someone's bday so I'm sure I'll use them all tomorrow! :D Again, don't worry-I definitely won't go overboard but I will probably use some flex points. Cole-I'm sure you understand what I'm saying but hope I'm not confusing anyone else! Anway, walked 60 mintues yesterday as well. Also on track w/water. However, stepped on the scale and I haven't lost anything yet. Bad scale; bad, bad scale! Oh well, I'm just beginning. It will come off soon.

Kandice-I hope the next few weeks are as stress free as possible. I was matron of honor for my best friends wedding last year and she drove me crazy! However, the girl has serious OCD issues! :) It sounds like you guys have things pretty much under control. Just be aware that last minute stuff does come up. Usually it's small stuff so it's no big sweat. My DD was in my sister's wedding a few years ago. She was dressed and ready when I realized I hadn't seen her for a few minutes. I found her in the ladies room crying. I asked what was wrong and she said-I'm going to ruin Aunt Mary's wedding! I asked what she was talking about and she said I have a runner in my tights! Poor baby. So we ran out and got her new tights and the day was saved. Anyway, hope I didn't scare ya! :) Congrats on the bikini. Doesn't it feel good?

FLorafee-I understand what you said about company. Feeling that very thing towards my adult son that's sleeping on our couch! He moves out in March so I get my living room back! Yeah! Was glad we could help him out of a tough spot, though.

Cole-congrats on your walking! How are you doing w/your points? I just love WW. It helps me learn smarter choices but doesn't exclude anything. I look forward to it working soon!

Sweetpea-welcome! Glad to have you. You will find great encouragement and understanding here. Check in as often as you can! Look forward to getting to know you.

Bonnie-I walked at the Y last night, and like yours, it was covered over. I wondered how many people were there due to resolutions and how many would stick w/it. I totally agree about kids on the machines. I didn't let mine get on them until they reached the right age or got their gym pass. Oh, well.
I hate walking at my Y as it takes 16 times around the track to make a mile. It feel like FOREVER to get my four miles in! Ugh. But machines were all busy and it was raining. So, I popped in some music and walked anyway.

Dena-thanks for this challenge. I will try to help w/your motivation to walk. I walk some w/my DD's and some by myself right now. DH cannot keep up yet and he doesn't want to "slow me down" so he made me promise to walk at my normal speed instead of staying w/him which means, of course, that I end up leaving him. Oh, well. He'll soon be to the point where he can keep up w/all of us.

Well, gotta run. See ya in the funny pages! :D

Den@ 01-05-2005 12:51 PM

Hi Everyone!

I got up early this morning and went for a brisk walk. Boy, is it cold out there! Next time I'm wearing gloves! Yesterday I was planning on going to the gym, but misplaced my card, so I ended up walking in the mall instead for an hour. Hubby and I walked a little last night, too. It feels great to be back in control! I did well eating-wise and drinking my water yesterday, too. This is how it should be. :)

Sweet Pea, welcome to the group. I don't know how I missed your message. Maybe we were typing at the same time. In any event, I think you'll like it here. Lots of support, motivation and inspiration. I love your goals!

Bonnie, somehow I missed you, too. I hope you have a great time with your relatives. We always miss you when you leave. :( I know you'll continue to do well!

Florafae, Kandice, Susan and Cole, you are all doing such a great job! I'm so proud of all of us! (Susan, stay off that scale. It doesn't always motivate us. I know it discouages me a lot.)

Take care, everyone!
Hugs,
Dena

DewCan 01-05-2005 04:02 PM

Hi, I'd like to join your Valentinies group if I may. I joined the Christmas group, but we had a death in the family and that's why I dropped out of your group. I'd like to give it another try.
My goal for Valentine's Day is 10 pounds.
I will do this by
1. exercise 60 minutes
2. do situps
3. drink 8 cups of water
4. eat less
this is my daily goal.

I've been reading some of the earlier posts, and there seems to be a lot of you that are taking vacations. Sounds wonderful. It's so cold and snowy here, a beach with sun and sand would be a definite spirit lifter. I hope you all enjoy these trips.

Den@ 01-05-2005 04:23 PM

Hi Diana,

Welcome back! I'm glad you found us. Your plans for losing weight sound great. Good luck these next 6 weeks.
Hugs,
Dena

KandiceS 01-05-2005 04:45 PM

Bonnie- congrats on getting lb #2 off!

Skinny- I'm not wearing nylons (to my grandma's dismay "but you have to have something on your legs!") I go around without nylons all year long, I don't know if I could stand them, even if it's just one day. don't know about the girls though. most likely not either- both are extreme tomboys that wanted to wear pants! My maid of honor is my pledge sister when we pledged the sorority- it was only me and her that stuck it out. She lives in Maine still so she really hasn't done too much for me since the wedding is down here and all. Hope she doesn't say I'm a bridezilla! we got back 2 RSVPs today (both yes) excited- this is happening!

DewCan- sorry about your loss. Glad to have you back with us!

dollar 01-05-2005 05:31 PM

Hi ladies I would like to join your challenge. I reached my goal a year ago this past October but I have slipped back about 30 lbs. So time to get my rear in gear. I have been trying to stick to my WW plan but have been struggling so it is a new year and a new goal. My long term goal is to get back to my goal wt by May when I go on a trip to Quebec with my sons Grade 8 class. So for Feb 14 I would be happy with 10lbs gone.
I plan to do this with 10-14 glass of water a day, that is the easy part for me, going to the gym 4-5 x per week to do cardio and weights and perhaps get my next programe from my trainer and most of all be OP every day.

DewCan 01-05-2005 08:40 PM

Thanks for the welcome,
Kandice, I hope that the wedding planning goes wellf or you ;)
Dollar, I understand the frustration of gaining weight back. I've never been at goal though, that must have been super annoying!!
Diana

Oh,sweetpea 01-05-2005 09:49 PM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good day today. Trying out the Windsor Pilates DVD's. ((THIS is going to take a LOOOOOOG time to master! haha)) Weather is totally awful here in Southern Ohio...MAJOR flooding. I had to drive 45 out of my way to get home today! So, I am confined to the treadmill (b-o-r-i-n-g). I picked up some DVDs at the library today. I figure I could watch a part of the movie for my hour of treading, then maybe be motivated to tune in tomorrow to watch the conclusion! (kinda like watching soaps!)

I love stopping in here to get a boost from all of you. My "weak" time is in the evening, so it's great to come here, read how everyone is doing, and to write. (Keeps my hands busy!)

I don't know about all of you....but I am usually the last on the list to be "taken" care of. I am too busy "taking" care of everyone else! So, I am trying to give myself a little mini reward every night. It keeps my mind occupied (and off of cheating!) to think about what that reward will be.

Everyone...think positive thoughts!

Welcome Dollar! Glad to have you here!

I got pictures developed last night and I wanted to share...
this is me now (last night) minus the 20 lbs and 44 inches and then the other one I have a big sweater on but I still like it- those are all my kappa sisters that came to my bridal shower- the red head int he middle is my maid of honor.

(edited- the picture of me is too large- even though I'm not!- I'll try to fix it and then attach it later)

I'll check back later! Have a great day!

Hi Everyone!

Well, I'm getting back into my exercise routine and I love it. Yesterday I walked 1/2 hour in the morning, 45 minutes at lunch and did a video called "Body Flex." (It's sort of like pilates.) I also had about 1300 cals (no starchy foods) and drank 10 glasses of water. Now we're talking! Those inches better disappear!

Kandice, I love your picture! Is that you in the white sweater? Wow!! You're doing a great job! You look super! Your exercises at Curves inspires me! What a beautiful bride to be!

Bonnie, congrats on losing your two pounds. Have a wonderful trip!!

Sweet, I love your idea of watching movies while being on the treadmill. Then continuing part 2 the next day. Smart idea! I usually listen to music and tread to the beat. Somehow I get lost in the music and think I'm dancing instead of treading. I like to reward myself, too. I'm thinking of a pedicure at the end of this week. It's time.

Diana, how are you doing? Are you counting cals or doing any specific food plan? Glad you are back with us. :)

Dollar, welome. You will get back to your goal!. You've done it before, so I know you can do it again. Having a goal like going to Quebec is great motivation. Good luck to you!

OK, guys, we're on a roll now. Let's keep up the great work!

Hugs,
Dena

dena- yup that's me in the white sweater. 10 glasses of water will definitely make them disappear! I'm strict about my 8 glasses- even found a jug at walmart with 64 ounces designed all about water- this is how much you're need to drink at least... blah blah blah.

bonnie- have fun in NC! we're going to W-S tomorrow to go dancing for the night.

sweetpea- I borrow movies from the library too and Chris laughs at me- thought I was the only one. They usually have some pretty good movies- a few years old, but who cares!

still waiting to get my picture up- a coworker is working on it while he's trying to close month-end/ year end.. hehehehe

Good afternoon,

It sounds as if everyone is motivated and ready to lose. :goodscale

I have a question about water consumption. I have about 6 cups a tea a day--most of it herbal. I drink it plain with no sugar or milk. I’ve been counting this as part of my water intake for the day. I assume this is okay, but I just thought I’d ask if the rest of you do this, or if you only count “pure” water.

Kandice, thanks for sharing the picture. You look great!

Have to get back to work now.
