for me yesterday.

Carri: I am so glad your doggy is back home with you! I really think you should invest in puppy pads for him though. He will take right to them and keep you from cleaning up accidents in the bedroom if he can't hold it until you get back home in the evenings. Just make sure he has lots of toys and things to chew on and sound of some kind to entertain him.

SandyG: I saw on tv that Breathrite now has menthol strips for you nose and has little portable "vaporizers" where you put a tablet into their cup with water and it comes out vapor like vicks. That may be a help to you especially at work if you have stuffiness.

I am done with my housework and my laundry so am going to go down and watch a movie and check the mail. Probably junk and bills. I never get anything fun like MONEY! I can't wait for next week. Jack and I are checking into a casino hotel on Thur and Friday (I have 2 free nights to use) and then we have Christmas with dd etc on Friday afternoon and evening. We will go back to the hotel after we leave dd's house (it is only about 30-40 miles down there) and then spend part of Christmas day there as we are always alone on Christmas day. We are looking forward to time ALONE without the animals in bed with us. Julie, we plan on lots of "elevator riding" (in deference to being in a hotel ) while we are down there! It is extremely hard to be romantic with a cat and dog walking on you trying to get between you and our bedroom door doesn't latch tight and they have figured out how to get in when we kick them out!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good Morning Everyone!

It's a gorgeous sunny day....with a balmy temperature of 2. Bit too cold to ski today, but I had a blast going out yesterday. I'm proud to say that I didn't overdo it...once my butt started burning, I turned around and went back. All in all about 30 minutes. There's a reason Nordictrak was so popular back in the 80s. Cross country skiing is awesome exercise. I believe that's why all Norwegians and Swedes have such amazing backsides.....their butts are genetically altered from all that having to ski for transportation 10 months out of the year!

Anyway...no complaints here. Warm cinnamon oatmeal and gingerbread coffee...mmmmmmm. Of course, they don't make the holiday flavored coffee in decaf, so I've had waaayyy more than my usual caffeine and I'm bouncing around like a kangaroo. Maybe it will burn off some more calories.

Carrie, glad you and dh decided to go back and pick up the pup. Sometimes it's better to just give in to sentiment than to regret a decision for years. Just be patient, and you'll work out the potty problems.

Sandy, glad you're feeling better. I meant to tell you before, but hot chinese mustard or some really spicy thai food does wonders for sinus pain and stuffiness. It's torture for about ten seconds, and then it's like the symptoms are completely gone! You gotta use the good stuff, though...the stuff that's so hot you think your head is gonna explode.

Faye, your holiday plans sound like tons of fun.

Well, gotta go hop in the shower and then get to the bank.

Everybody have a super day!

Julie

HI, all ... it is so cold here today, so cold...almost burns the skin for the wind to hit it ...

I think I got everyone misunderstanding about the doggie he is perfectly house trained and will not go in the house...he holds it for 10-12 hours at a time if he has too...so that was never a problem...it was him being locked up in the small cage we have...but since we have decided to put a gate up in one of the bedrooms we will be fine...I do appreciate all of your suggestions though as this has been a hard time, but he is home now and all is well...ha ha

Julie - yes I used to love the Nordic track...it really worked you out...great job on getting exercise !!

Faye - You and dh have fun with the "stair climbing" next week...

Sandy - Hope you get to feeling better

Hope you all have a good evening and talk to you later

Hope everyone is having a good afternoon. It is cold here today also and I have kept my big behind indoors. Unlike Julie, I hate going out when it is cold and though it was in the 30's today I was cold all day. It doesn't take long to get used to southern weather I guess, though I have never really liked the cold stuff except when I was young and it snowed up north.

Carri: Glad you family member is all settled in the new house and things are back to normal for you.

I just wanted to check in and see how everyone was today. I had a 3 pt for yesterday and seem to be creeping back down in my weight, which is fine with me.

Talk to you all tomorrow

Morning ladies!

Faye, let me know how the movie is as well. Corey is iffy on wanting to see it and I guess that a review might decide things. I do know that Fat Albert is on the to see list and Are We There Yet as well.

Juile, congrats on the book being almost there. It must feel so good to get this accomplished.

Carri, good to know that your dog is back with you. I am sure that things have already gotten back to normal.

Sorry that I have missed lots this week but have been busy with work and trying to run my Mother here and there. I am right with each and everyone of you with the eating right now. Try as hard as I may this holiday food just keeps on comming. Just can't wait for this all to be over. Checking in real quick time to get out and stock my stores this morning before they get full of shoppers. Later everyone

SATURDAY: Today is sunny Thoughs Saturday. Do you have anything to share?

Sorry I didn't get in here yesterday girls, busy all day. I know that like everyone else food and stress and everything that goes with the holidays is upon us all so do apolgize if you can't make it in here. Believe me, I understand.

We ended up not going yesterday and don't know now if I am going to have time to go. I didn't feel well enough to go anyway. I am having some allergy issues and boy am I miserable. I have problems with the heat in the house (probably dust mites etc) and I have had a headache, runny nose, sneezing for a couple days now. No fever or congestion so I know it isn't a cold but I have cookies and fudge to make this weekend and don't have time to get sick that is for sure.

**Have any of you or your kids READ the Lemony Snicket books? I think they are weird personally! I have read all of them so far, but that is because dd got me started on them and so I have been reading them. Unusual to say the least.

Everyone have a great weekend

Just wanted to pop back in but I see no one has been here today. I am totally pooped. I made 8 lbs of milk chocolate fudge and 8 dozen big chocolate chip cookies and the dough balls for kieflies then will roll them and fill them tomorrow. Did 4 loads of laundry and put it away so I am pretty much all in. I will check with you tomorrow. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

SUNDAY: Today is Silly Poll Sunday and our Silly Poll this week is, What is your favorite type of Christmas cookie or candy?

Morning girls! Not much time this AM as I have to get started on those other cookies as they take most of the day but wanted to get in here and give everyone a GOOD MORNING!

As for the poll, I can't say just one except there is only one I DON'T like and that are those awful cut out cookies. I know they are pretty much a staple of everyone's Christmas but I hate the things! I like fudge, toffee, peanut brittle for candy then kieflies, spritz cookies and a couple cookies my grandma used to make. One was a raisin filled cookie (it was a filling of raisins not just raisins in the cookie) and coffee hermits. They are the only thing I have ever liked that had coffee in them. They are a type of spice cookie that I haven't had in years but they are yummy!

Hope all your shopping and baking is done. I have all the shopping and wrapping done, thank goodness and will finish up the cookies today. For Christmas Eve (our Christmas with the kids) I am making cornbread dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes and yeast rolls along with taking the cookies. I will get the prep done for those on Wed before I go to the hotel. We are having an evening dinner and having lamb so I hope my dd can fix it so it tastes ok. I am not a lamb lover but have had it once when it tasted pretty good and once when it was nasty.

Well, I need to go. Talk to you tomorrow if I can't get in here

NO TOPICS FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS, BUT WILL RETURN JANUARY 3.

Morning girls. Hope you are up and at em this morning. I have all my baking done now including those cookies from yesterday and even the Christmas food gifts done. Got a call from dd askiing if I had bought the stuff for dinner on Friday. I told her yes and why and she said did you spend a lot of money on it. Well, I hadn't and told her so and and she suggested we just have dinner down at the hotel and open gifts there since we were going to be there on Friday. That is nice because no one has to cook or clean up so that is what we are going to do. All I need to do until Thur is get my house cleaned and then I am home free so to speak.

SandyG: Hope you are feeling better and have more overall strength etc back. I know I am having a horrific time with allergies and they make me miserable.

I will check in later girls when everyone is up and going.

Morning everybody!

Faye, thanks for keeping this all going even though our posts are few and far between! I know it must be frustrating.....and CONGRATS WOOOHOOOO and WTG on your 3 pounds Honestly, you are fighting the good fight at the worst time of the year. And doing it better than I am, that's for sure. My clothes are all getting very tight, and I already got rid of the bigger sizes....I weighed myself and have officially gained 10 pounds HOLY CRAP!!!

So, I really can't just wait around until Christmas is over...I have to start reigning in NOW. I'm not going to do a "treats purge" until after Christmas, but I am trying really hard to just ignore them. Not always succeeding...but trying.

I know I'm not here as often as I used to be, but once the holiday fuss is over I'll be back with a vengence! I'm so ready to get back to normal.

Hope everyone is enjoying themselves!
TTFN,
Julie
