Sorry I didn't get back in here earlier, but dd called and wanted me to go out shopping etc with her and we were involved in a car accident. Some noodleheaded lady pulled out of a side street in busy traffic and broadsided us and then pushed us across traffic and rearended us and pushed us up into someone's yard. I am pretty sore from being jostled and dd bruised her leg and strained her back. I told her if she is worse tomorrow to go to the dr so the nut cases insurance has to pay. The woman was really nasty and wouldn't let dd see her insurance info and when the police got there, they made her give it to my dd. On top of that, she called her mil to come and get it and they lived across town and we ended up with everything from my dd's car and my poor grandson sitting on the grass while they took her car to the wrecker lot. It is freezing today and my dgs gets pneumonia every year so I took my coat off and bundled him up in it and told him to keep warm. Anyway, he is fine and the two of us are sore but ok. The car is a mess and may be totaled because it looks like the frame may have gotten bent. On top of all this, the woman had an 18 month old in a newborn infant car carrrier and not a carseat and dd told the police and get this, he said, "I hate the carseat laws here." He refused to ticket her for it and dd raised the roof and told him off saying, he had no right to make judgements of his own, we had carseat laws and they are supposed to be inforced! The lady's insurance agent warned dd not to tell anyone else that the baby was in the wrong car seat, can you believe it? I told her, to blab it to everyone including her insurance company as the woman needs to get that little one in a carseat and be protected.

As for the food issues, I think we need to realize we are going to have a tough two weeks, but to try to at least stay fairly level and do what we can not to gain a bunch of weight.

Everyone have a wonderful evening and stay warm!

Good morning girls. I kind of feel like I was hit by a bus, but the aches and pains will go away in a couple days I am sure. I plan on talking to dd this morning in a little while to see that she and my grandson are doing ok and find out if they got her a rental car yet.

Our Christmas eve plans are all up in the air with the accident because of their car problems. Her husband has a 2 seater sports car so they need something to drive around in. Her mil will lend her their car but they need it too so that is not a solution and we only have the one car so all we can do is help her run errands and what not. It will all work out though.

Hope everyone is done shopping. It is nuts here. You can sit at a stop light to get into the mall even during the day for 15 to 20 minutes. I am not one of those people that gets a thrill out of bustling shopping and I sure can't wait until the last minute, my ocd won't let me! There is no way I would go anywhere out there by that mall until at least a week after Christmas. Any of you last minute shoppers?

I enjoy the holidays, but will be glad when it is all said and done and I can go back to my routine. I feel so disjointed sort of with no purpose, you know?

Well, everyone have a good day!

Good morning girls! Woke up to hard rain and having to go to the bathroom so I decided I would go ahead and start the post this morning.

I am doing fine, still a little sore but it gets better day to day. DD and DGS are going fine as well and they got her a rental so all is ok with everything now.

There is nothing exciting going on around here. As usual, this town is full of rapes, robbery and murder with an occasional bad cop thing going on, but I have learned to live with that! As for us here at home, we are a snooze a minute!

I don't know if any of you have watched that reality weight loss show on NBC but I have watched it every week and it inspires me to see where the folks that got booted off, most of them anyway kept up the weight loss. I am really looking forward to getting myself in shape for the new year.

Everyone have a great day

Morning Everyone!

Good grief Faye, you were up and writing the same time I was! The closer I get to finishing this book, the more stuck I get on the ending. I keep thinking of things that are left hanging and I feel like I have to tie everything up in a nice neat package. Oh well, I'll figure it out.

I'm going shopping tonight with dh...we're basically done, but wanted some time alone together and still need a few little things. We DO NOT go to the mall, though. Our mall, such as it is, is over an hour away and it's crazy. We prefer to go to the little seaside towns and shop in the pretty little gift shops and book shops and toy shops. They are quiet and everyone is nice and in a good mood. Plus, I don't feel like I'm throwing money away....I know it's helping support small businesses.

Faye, so sorry to hear about the accident. That really stinks. I'm glad everyone is ok though. I'm with you about getting back to normal. I feel like I've been holding my breath for a month. I've gained so much weight, I don't even feel like myself. DH has some massive SAD right now (seasonal affective disorder....basically lack of sunlight=depression) He gets it every year but denies it, of course. I'm thinking of getting him a sunlamp thingie, but they used to be prescription only items. Which is ridiculous! I'm wondering if that's changed by now.

Well, gotta fly....last day of school for the kids. I can sleep late tomorrow! Woo hoooo.....

TTFN,
Julie

Hold your loved ones tight, everybody!

One of our good friends is in the 133rd engineering battalion currently in Mosul. Two of their members from Maine were killed in the dining tent explosion yesterday. Thankfully, we just found out he's okay....but he was sitting only 30 or 40 feet from where the explosion went off! Please keep his wife and children in your prayers today.

Thanks.

Julie: Please provide your friends names or pm them to me. I will definitely put them in my prayer time. I know how hard it is to have a loved one away for the holidays, been there done that, and being in a fighting situation to boot where you never know if the doorbell is going to ring and a chaplain be standing there with regrets for you. Please extend best wishes to your friends from our house!

Man, I am so mad at Barnes and Noble. I get these author notices, when favorite authors books are coming out so I can preorder them and got a Harry Potter one yesterday so ordered 2 books (one for us and one for dd's family) and several times on the notice AND during the ordering process, "Always remember, Barnes and Noble does not charge your credit card until the items are shipped." Guess what they did????? The durn book doesn't even come out until July! I e-mailed them but haven't heard back. That is why I always hate to preorder stuff.

It is cold, windy and they are threatening snow here. Now I know for some of you, that is no big deal, but people go nuts here if they have flurries. They came out with a winter watch last night (predictions, less than an inch ) and I bet the stores were mobbed with people cleaning out the shelves stocking up. It is comical, really. It really rained hard here this morning, but it has stopped and seems to be drying out with the wind so I hope that continues as it will keep from freezing on the road. That does make me nervous because no one can drive on it here.

Well, need to go

Have a great day

Faye

Hi All ( or Faye, Julie, and Sandy anyway, ha ha ) ... supposed to get a buttload of snow here today, put us on a "bread and milk alert", ha ha You know how crazy people get when they hear snow is coming they go out and buy up all of the bread and milk, silly really...but anyway, so I am waiting for it, I had my dh bring me to work today since the worst of it will probably be at rush hour and I do not drive so well in it...

I have all my Christmas shopping done and now am just counting down the hours to giving and receiving ... I am with you guys on the food thing, I have felt like crap for 2 weeks, bloated, gassy, indegestion, and heartburn...plus do not feel bad Julie, I have put on like 7-9 pounds myself, I am too scared to weigh myself...I have already told myself that I am not going to wait until Jan 1st to get back started I am going to do it on Monday right after Christmas...I gotta get back to it now before I really, really slide backwards...
I guess no one has really won the quarterly challenge huh??
Well I say we all start fresh for the new year quarter...

Faye - So sorry to hear about your car accident but very glad that you guys are all alright, I know those kind of things can be very upsetting...

Julie - Enjoy your sleeping in tomorrow, I still have one more day of work, only get off Christmas Eve and will be back on Monday, ughhhhh

Sandy - Great job on your two workouts in a row, you put my Christmas binge eating to shame, ha ha

If I do not check back in before CHristmas I hope you all have a great one and I know we can all get back on track after this food holiday is behind us, we are strong women, enjoy your holiday and then we WORK OUR BUTTS OFF
for four pointers!!!

Merry Christmas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Evening everyone!

Julie, I will must defiently keep your friend and his family in my prayers. Must be nice to get to sleep in. Here, if there isn't school and Corey is home I am usually up by 7. I have got a child that doesn't like to sleep in.

Carri, by no means have I but your Christmas binge to shame. I have had my share of binging. I have just decided to get started on working out. That way I will have myself already in a pattern when the first gets here.

Faye, don't blame you for firing off at Barnes and Noble. I would have done the same thing.

Ok have to chime in with the snow scare shopping. It goes farther than milk and bread. These ppl go and and buy lots of meats to fill their freezers, then there is milk, pop, and bread. What makes me so mad is that to begin with these ppl know that the roads do get taken care of. There are a few that do live on roads that do not get taken care of and then there are some that live on top of mountains. But come one there are ppl that act like they are not going to get getting out for over a month. Then these fools that have stocked up on meat end up loosing electricty for a few days and it has been offf for over a week during the winter. There are some that are truly with out and then there are some pple that have figured out that if u get food stamps here and the power goes out for an extented period of time you will get more stamps given to you. I am sorry but these ppl know that the power goes out and should have a enough sense to know better. It is all a scam to them. It is because of this that I hate to hear the "S" word in the forcaste.

Sorry bout the soap box. Just wanted to check in this evening and see how everyone is doing. Time to get a move on and get some things done here at home....talk to everyone later.

Morning girls. Got up to peepee and check what it looks like outside (not good) so thought I would post. I will be gone out of town from today until after Christmas. I just wanted everyone to know that I wish them the very best for Christmas and a spectacular new year. I really want this thread to have some goal reachers this year. I know we have dwindled to just a few of us, but we can do this.

EVERYONE HAVE A VERY VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!

I wish you all a wonderful, peaceful, merry christmas!

FAYE - Sorry to hear about your accident - I am glad that you and your dd had only minor injuries (and that your dog is ok!)

CARRI - A white Christmas - how lovely! Although I agree that 10 inches is maybe a little too white!

JULIE - Congratulations on finishing your book - you have proved to yourself that if you set your mind to do something, and are disciplined and work hard, then you can achieve anything you want! I hope your husband feels better soon - I've heard good things about those light boxes - I know in the UK you do not need a prescription.

SANDY - Hope you get the one thing you really need this Christmas.....some time off!! Have a fab time with your son!

Well I made the stupid mistake of weighing myself this morning (WHY??? WHY??? ) - I have put on another 7lb and I am the biggest I have ever been in my life. I am really feeling the extra weight - my knees are constantly hurting, and everything feels like such hard work. So I've been pretty down all day about it, but all I can do is resolve to lose this weight once and for all (after Christmas obviously!). Hopefully having counselling at the same time as dieting may help me to stop falling into the same traps each time. Also Nigel will be dieting with me and he can be really strict!!! ooh er!

So I will be back in the new year for sure!

Have a wonderful time ladies!

Love Amanda x

Hope everyone is having a great holiday with family and friends. We came back this morning. The roads from one casino to another are ice skating rinks and very treacherous. I was so stressed out from driving a couple miles between each one and it taking 15-30 minutes that I told Jack, "let's eat breakfast and go home." It has warmed up a little but is going to need several days of 40's, sunshine and above to melt this stuff. It is think and solid most places. Thank goodness, Jack is off until Tues so we can stay put.

Amanda: It was so wonderful hearing from you. Listen, every one of us is in the same boat. We have all gained weight back and are miserable. We are committing to getting going right after the first and no pressure but of course you are welcome to join us!

FYI: No gift challenge next quarter. We need to get serious before we try and start that up and Julie or whomever said they would provide this quarter's don't get it. No one has lost this quarter compared to last quarter's amount.

Julie: Congrat on the book being finished. I knew you could do it girl!!!!!!

Carri: Hope you and hubby are having a great Christmas.

SandyG: Hope you and Corey got everything you wanted from Santa. My dgs said to me last night when we opened presents, "Nonny you bought me all the things I told Santa I wanted, so will he still bring me any presents?" I told him yes, Santa had lots of things he could bring.

TO ALL OUR OTHER FRIENDS, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I am wishing our group much health, happiness, and financial gain and good vibes this year. I really want this group to be close to their goals by Christmas of next year. I know you can do it, if you are willing to work hard. Let's really put in some work from Jan- Dec next year and I know our results will make us the happiest of all!

Love and hugs to you all. You are all the best!
