Kristen, it's Siesta time here. LOL then for bed it's Night Night. Loved the poem by the way! I don't think I've read anything by Alice Seabold yet.

Leigh I have read all of David Sedaris and my favorites so far are Me Talk Pretty One Day as well as Naked. Thanks for the info on the bagels, I will definately check them out.

Penny I was laughing out loud picturing your crew with their Logo t-shirts and lunch boxes, off to work. How adorable! Good job on the Good Will trip, I have some stuff headed there this weekend as well.

Michelle, sorry you have to truck off to work! Sounds like you did stock up on those meals. Which ones did you get? My favs are the chicken enchilada. yum, could eat those every day if I had to.

Mel, how did your Motherly duties go today? Gads, I think everyday is the same for me. Except tonight I'm going to tan for a bit and pick up dinner. My big escape. LOL how sad! Oh yeah and Monday I have a hair appointment, just before the So. Cal adventure.

I'm doing a Yoga Seminar for a MOM's club here in town at the end of August. I'm pretty excited about it and it's free advertising for me as the local paper will be there covering it. I have to work out a different routine for the ladies, something more layed back and more on the meditation side, but I'm looking forward to the project.

I have a pet sitter coming by tonight, she will be looking after the animals while we are in So. Cal. I hope I like her because there is nobody else to do it really. Fingers crossed.

check in with you all later,
Di

Diane, we mothers do live exciting lives don't we My motherly duties were status quo. I took the kids out. I pushed the jogger and helped DD ride her bike at the same time.....I had to put a strap attached to the bike and one to the stroller so I could do both. DD is just learning how to ride her 2 wheeler with training wheels. We live in a hilly area, so it's not easy. I hope you like the pet sitter. It's good you can get someone to come to your house instead of putting the animals in a Kennel.

Leigh, I didn't forget about you and the clothing. I have it ready, except for a box. I may have to get one and mail it next week. Hope that's ok with you. I'll let you know as soon as I know.

Michelle, I know it's work, but at least you are getting some adult stimulation in. I myself feel like my brain is all mashed up from constant baby/child language and silliness.

Hi, all, been busy here. I have a question. I noticed a couple of threads ago that some of you used the diet pills. I tried them, and they made me even hungrier. I have stalled on my weight loss and don't know what else to do. I exercise an hour a day, sometimes more, I have been eating smaller portions, and more fruits and veges, and nothing. Please give me some ideas. I hope you all are having a great weekend. Michelle, I hope you have a great anniversary. Hi to evryone else, and I will get personal later.

hi ladies,

sorry i haven't posted for a few days...you all know how busy life gets! LOL

just feeling a little discouraged about the weight thing. not really "dieting" right now because i just got so sick of it. but now i am thinking maybe i need to do something different. i was trying to just eat healthy, smaller portions, etc. but i haven't done too well and don't know if it is maybe just because i've had a stressful week, or if i need something more regimented. (i've really been EATING the last few days! with the usual excuses, of course ) just thought maybe you all could share what you are doing, and the success you've had doing it. you may have already posted it somewhere along the line, if so then i apologize. any help is appreciated! Right now i am a member of TOPS, and i love it. other than that i am really floundering here.

thanks all.

Tricia,

Hugs to you......

I know that I can't make you get back on track. That is up to you!

Sometimes I get to where I am just tired of stressing over what I put in my mouth and how much I exercise and what the scale says....

And I may stay off plan for a week or two and I don't get back on until I personally am ready. But then I step on the scale and realize how much I needed to stay on track.

I will battle my weight for the rest of my life but if I quit trying then where will I be? It is better to be where I am now than to be where I might be if I stop trying! (confusing I know..... lol) But you know where I am going with this!

We are all here to help you and will support you!

Default Morning

Hi. I used my flexpoints last night for Mexican food and ice cream. So now it's back to normal points for me the rest of the weekend.

Michelle- hope you had fun at work.

Penny - WW meals are yummy. Your advice to Tricia is well stated!

Di- the only other Sedaris book I've read is Santaland Diaries, which was hysterical. Congrats on the yoga seminar! That's awesome.

Mel- not to worry about the clothes - there's definitely no rush

Ricci- hi! Sounds like you're on a plateau. Have you tried varying your exercise routine - I've heard that sometimes helps.

Tricia- hi! Initially, I was going to do more of the Dr. Phil thing, where I just made healthy lifestyle changes, but found I needed more structure. I then decided to try Weight Watchers, and I really like it - it's very flexible and teaches you portion size, choices, etc. without feeling like a diet. Hope you find the plan that's right for you!

I think I may look up some stuff on plateaus. I'm not positive that I'm on a plateau - I think I'll know better after my WI Friday, after doing lots of workouts this week. But the scale keeps going back and forth between 157 and 158 . . . up until the past couple of weeks, the scale would progressively move down, even if only 1/4 of a pound or so. Hmm.

Hi again. First, there is a question I keep forgetting to ask. My mother is looking for some workout videos that will especially target the waist. Should I suggest just regular abs-type workouts, or do ya'll know of any ones that more specifically tone the waist?

Second, I found two particularly interesting articles on weight loss plateaus and thought I'd post the links for those who are interested:

Morning All, I am getting myself worked up to start a real good program. I want to thank you all for your inspiration. I have gotten much done around my house, so I really don't have too many excuses left.lol The only thing standing in my way is me! And the kids of course, but I'll have to make some arrangments to just get it done whether they are here or not. Have a great day all.

Good morning all!

Well, I never did get down here to post yesterday. I've read all the posts on this thread but didn't go back to the others I may have missed.

Leigh, congrats on the 1 lb down. You're almost half-way to goal already! Wonderful!!

Mel, it's hard to find time for yourself when you're a SAHM isn't it? At first I said I couldn't exercise everyday because the boys wouldn't let me. I used to walk on the treadmill. Then I started doing the WATP workouts and they just play (or fight ) nearby. I often have to stop and break them up and get them interested in something else, but they usually let me do my thing. I may go back to the treadmill someday, but not til I think Tony will keep his hands/fingers out of it . I hope you find something that suits you .

Michelle...busy, busy, busy!! Hope you find some time to relax today.

Penny, you're such a sweetie...you give great advice to us all. Have fun cleaning/organizing and when you're done...head on over here .

Doula (sorry...your name's escaping me right now ) and Ricci...wish I had something to tell you! My weight's been hanging lately, but it's because of my bad food choices. Keeping up the exercise is the only thing saving me.

Di..hope the pet sitter works out. I have been reading more lately too. I used to read all the time...then I had kids. By the time evening rolled around I was too tired to read. Now I can usually get some in during the day and then again at night. I just read one of Dean Koonz's in about 1 day and 1/2 (I love him!) I just started another book yesterday but the title and author escape me now .

Kristin..great poem. I could never stay up that late and function the next day!! But then again...I'm an old lady

A big hello to everyone else out there!

Today I need to trim the hedges and bushes outside and they've gone completely out of control. Then hopefully a swim in the little pool with the boys. Nothing else planned. Probably grilled chicken breasts for dinner.

Gotto scoot! TTYL

Good Morning girls!!

I've had a rough night my girls were up at 5 am so I only got like 4 hours of sleep and am soo tired and my little one won't quit crying, I think shes getting sick

Melissa - You are going to do great on your new program!!! Just stick with us and we'll help you through the rough times

Leigh - The mexican sounded soo yummy, I'm sure I came in under pts yesterday. Breakfast was 1 c branflakes and .5 c skim milk and a peach, lunch was a 5 pt WW meal and a peach, and dinner was a healthy choice meal that I think would be about 6 or 7 points and a small brownie for dessert.

Hope everyone is doing well!! I'll be back to post again after I get a nap in!!
Love to all!!

Hello everyone! Today is weigh-in day. I gained 2 lbs!! I wasn’t looking for a loss, since I hadn’t exercised like I was supposed to and I definitely hadn’t eaten right. Plus the 3 lb loss for last week. But I’m not disappointed really. I am a little in myself for not working as hard as I should have, but it’s not the end of the world. There’s always tomorrow. Today so far, I’ve exercised 60 minutes with Denise Austin on hips, legs, thighs, butt, and a little cardio, yoga, and pilates. Then I exercised with my step tape that came with my step…(53 min) that was a JOKE!! It was ADVANCED step!!! I barely did most of the moves, I just did the basic steps or added on somethings I remembered and kept going!! It also had abs, and weights too. That was pretty good. Now I’m good and tired. It took a lot of extra work between popping my daughter (because she kept trying to pick up my weights or jump on my back and my stomach.. Etc.. ) and fussing at the darned dog!! But I did it. I’ts been soo hard though. My daughter didn’t go to sleep until after 1 am, and at 6:45 this morning she pops up all bright and early. But I know from experience that if I don’t exercise in the morning… it won’t happen. I have to cook a big dinner today. BBQ Ribs (oven), dirty rice, potato salad, and macaroni. Everything will be made with an extra effort to make it healthier of course.. But I can’t even imagine the calories in that meal. My hubby is working today, and we don’t have much money, so I need to make sure we have something to eat instead of going out to eat. Anyways that’s about all I have time for today. I’ll try to come back & comment later… but I need to get started before time fly by as usual. I hope everyone is having a great day!!!!

Happy Afternoon
Melissa- I'm glad you've started your new lifestyle changes - I bet you're excited, excited, excited.

Geri- I also do workout tapes while Liam watches/plays nearby. He finds it kind of amusing to watch. I also have to pause sometimes, but overall that seems to work.

Michelle- Oh no! I hope the girls aren't getting sick Glad you're doing so well with points!

Jaymi- it sounds like you have the right attitude about the gain. All you can do is get right back on track! I love dirty rice - maybe I'll stop by for dinner

Doing fine today and still within points. We're going to a cookout at a friend's, but I think she'll have some veggie burgers or hot dogs, so I should be okay there too.

Leigh, have fun at your BBQ!!!!! Sounds great!! Perhaps me and hubby will bbq some chicken for dinner. I can't wait for my WW stuff to arrive so I can track exactly how many pts I'm doing each day. And after my splurges this week it looks like I'll maintain thank god its not a gain though

Jaymi don't sweat the gain, just get back on track

Well hubby just got home so I'm taking a nap lol. TTYL!!
