Evening girls--

Well I spent the afternoon with my grandpa. He had a patio swing that he redid and gave it to us. So I went over there to paint it. He had a new one he built for his patio so we were side by side painting our swings!! Then we sat on the patio and drank some soda and ate peanuts....(great diet I know!) His ball game was on so I sat with him for awhile and talked while he watched! We talked about the family and how nice it is that everyone comes over to keep him company, because he does get lonely. I was going to offer to make dinner but before I could he told me that my aunt was having him over for dinner. That made me feel better. It was a nice visit. I told him that I will come back over tomorrow to finish up with the painting of the swing. Always nice to visit with him. One of my cousins came over on her way to a family reunion and she wants to get the whole family over there next month for a little reunion of our own and to have a BBQ. That'll be fun. And that will make the grandpa happy.

Anyway...before I get all crazy and talk non-stop about my grandpa...how is everyone doing? Bought myself a new broom. Was all excited to get home to try it out. Crazy of me to get excited over a broom isn't it??? Shopping for me around the holidays should be easy!!

Angie--James and I have talked about traveling too. Would love to visit places all over the US first, then travel abroad later. Dreams......we'll be lucky to vacation anywhere in the US once!!! And as for the fat visual...that's pretty nasty. Can you just imagine knowing that's what it looks like in us?? My poor belly, My poor thighs!!! Ackkkk my butt!!!

Cristi--I myself forget I came from the Phillipines!! 6mos. when we left. I thank god that my dad brought my mom here. And when she left, she left me and my sister with him!! I've seen pictures of parts of Phillipines and they were beautiful, but the stories from my mom, my half sister (who also was born there and stayed until she was 5) and my dad.....very poverty stricken in the area my mom grew up. I don't think I will ever go back to visit.

Well I think I better get myself some dinner. My tummy is growling.

Have a good night!!

Good Evening-

Can't believe you are going to Cuba Angie.....lol. So jealous!!!!

I have never had a passport, never been on a plane. Never heard of Mavericks, though the one and only concert I have been to is Bay City Rollers.

VERY sweet how you write about your grandpa Marti. I always enjoy reading about him, what a sweet man.

I hope you had a safe trip to Pacific City RosieKate!! I DID go through Hammond on our way to Ft Stevens and Peter Iredale. I parked and told the older girls " go look at the ocean while I sleep"....lol I was so tired. Also, Gaby was asleep......

btw- Ang. Rebecca & I walked up the Astoria Column, 164 steps , I think. Hate to say it but I am STILL sore today. TOTALLY out of shape.......use to run up that thing 10 times!!! Darn, darn, darn..........really need to do something.

Rachel & Rebecca have one dad - while Gabrielle has another one........pretty sure about that. ...lol. jk.......R & R's dad is the one that is more like a brother. He was always like a father figure to me, 30 years older and such,,,,,
Gabrielle's father was never like a brother,,,,,,,,just a bother.....lol. Maybe that is what you mean , Cristi???
Anyway, he is a sweet man. I can only say with 2 months of counseling behind us and trying to work on better communication anything is possible. I am surprised to even be saying that because I always had the door firmly shut to that possibility.
Seeing both him and Gaby together warms my heart. She adores him ,,,,rubs his arm, and leans her head on him......awwww, so sweet.

Better go............hi to everyone!!

Hiya! You gals are posting like mad here! It's like reading a novel to catch up just one days worth. Darn it work. If only it didn't interfere so much with my life!

I managed to get in a nice, brisk walk this morning before work. That was a nice time to be out. And then all day I still felt like I accomplished something. After work, a group of us went out to dinner for our "birthday club". I don't think I'm going to do this again, it gets expensive, and well, I have other things I'd rather spend my money on. Anywho, we went to Johnny's Italian Steakhouse. It was really good. I had salmon that was cooked on a cedar plank (don't quite understand that) and veggies. Delicious.

Next week 2 of my girls are scheduled for surgery, one just a spay, and one a spay and declaw. I get so worried about them. It just breaks my heart. I don't know how parents can go through stuff with their kids. They are having surgery on Thursday, so I can pick them up on Friday after work and stay home with them all weekend. Ok, funniest thing. My little 12 week old little girl was chasing my 17 lb male cat. And I don't think they were playing, he hissed at her and jumped on the kitchen counter. What a wuss!

Marti - I didn't know you were born in the Phillipines! That is so cool. But it must've been terrifying for your mom. You would be a cinch to shop for. Maybe James will be a dear and get you a dustpan to go with your new broom!

Jana - I would love to send you a postcard, but I don't know where to! We are planning on shopping all day Saturday. And going to Marshall Fields, to get some Frango's. YUMMY! Now don't go getting down on yourself about your belly. No matter what I do, my thighs will always be round barrels. Things could be worse, I could have an arm growing out of my forehead! Now how on earth would I camoflauge that?!

RosieKate - That's nice that you are able to keep the dining room set in your family. My grandma has mentioned a couple of times, she'd like to give me hers, or her 2 bedroom sets. I don't know where I would put it, but I hate to say no.

Cristi - I was in New York a couple of years ago. One of the neat things we did was drive into Jersey, on the coast, I think the town was Highland. Anyway, we caught a ferry to Manhatten Island. It was only $25 round trip. We went past the Statue of Liberty, under the bridges, etc. It would have been wonderful, had it not been raining!

Angie - I'm with you, the more sleep the better. Over the weekend, I didn't set my alarm, slept like 9 hrs every night. Ideal! I am all for the tummy tuck. Most women, esp those who have kids, just can't get rid of that ball of tummy. My patients in the hospital who had it done were just ecstatic. But the first few days can be pretty rough. But let me tell you, after you are healed up, plastic surgery is worth it!

Well, I should go. It's after 9, and I'd like to go into work early, so I can take a long lunch and do some shopping at wally world so I don't have to go tomorrow evening!

Ooops Susan! I could have sworn that said brother, but reread it and saw it said "bother", not sure why I saw brother! And I even had my glasses on, I think?! I guess that is a good thing then, right? Well, it's good for Gaby to have a realtionship with her dad and glad they hit it off.

Jen~ah, your poor babies. My Aunt had one of her babies declawed years ago and it killed her, not to mention the cat. Okay, maybe I should reword that, it didn't actually 'kill' her or the cat, but hurt her to see her baby go through that pain. But the cat was going crazy tearing things up and climbimg the walls. At the time she was into south western decor and had some rugs hanging on her wall, not good with kitty. That's the only bad thing about planning a vacation, we can't plan the weather!

Just thought I would check in since I am not sure I will in the morning, will try to. Take care ladies, nighty night

Why won't you be on in the morning Cristi???

I was reading some of the other threads and came across Kettle Korn. That is what Gaby and I had for breakfast this morning. It was the only thing I had in the apartment and it tasted sooooooo good. We did go to Starbucks afterward and get a yogurt and fruit bowl......yum. lol

No, bother, bother.....Cristi Is there a picture of you anywhere??? I saw where you had posted some pictures but they were taken back down?? Was it a pic of you??? I never have seen what you look like !!

Gabsters dad will be here tomorrow afternoon. He is watching Gaby for me in the evening while I work. I suggested Rose Garden and the playground up there to take her to.... he said he would.I guess he takes her back to the coast on Friday , and I will go Saturday night to pick her up.......

Right now I am going to pick her up from the sitters and come home and collapse..........geesh.......

Exclamation Must type---NOT EAT!!

Needed to get on here before I went overboard!!!!

Before I explain why.....
I did so well for dinner tonight....I had a small piece of steak that I broiled, and a huge salad. Filled me up. I was proud of what I've accomplished!

Then.....Hours later......I pop some popcorn and pour myself a glass of wine. And indulged!! Big time!! Why do I do this? Pure boredom?? It must be. So I may have had a good dinner, but poor snacking!! It would have been ok if it was just a little bit...but I think I ate quite a bit!! The bowl is huge, and not empty, but it felt like I kept eating and eating and eating . Finally I took a handful, and threw it to the dogs and put it up.

****sigh**** and I wonder why the scale won't budge!!

Tomorrow I'm starting my journal. I was going to make it just a food journal, but then decided to go ahead and write what I eat and then write down how I felt that day and why I over ate...if I did. That's my thoughts on it anyway. Also record any exercise I do. (It doesn't matter what it is...as long as I move!)

See what happens when it's near TOM???? And once it's here...I don't eat most of the week! What's up with that???

Ok ladies...got some cleaning up to do in the kitchen. Don't worry...I'll put tape across my mouth for no entry!!!

Take Care
Marti

Hello everyone,
Marti,,,I had this long talk with Angelika,,,about eating the wrong foods, she must think I know alot on the good the bad and the evil foods,,,and I guess I do. Thing is I don't understand the witching hour,,,3 pm. Every 3 pm I am hungry and wanting not protein but straight carby foods...and every other friend I have are the same way...what gives? Anyways Angelika was asking me what she could do to stop that,,,Im like if I knew you think I would be this big? I have been taking the Phase 2, for the last few days,,,Im bloated...thats it. She thinks cause its made from the white beans ...beans make you bloated and gasy...and well thats about how I am,,,sorry for another great visual...lol

I bought 2 tee shirts and pair of animal print capris,,,lol

I need to take Skittles in to be fixed,,,spayed? is that what its called for a female dog?
Our weather has been horrible,,,it was so black today,,,spooky. Heavy rains,,,lightening and thunder at 10 am,,,till probably 2...still rainy now at 11.
Well off to bed I go,,,night all
Angie
