Jews join a temple. They have to pay a certain amount up front every year. If they don't join, they can't attend. This according to my friend Stacey...a nice Catholic girl who married a Jewish lawyer. They don't seem to have any of the baggage we have...they don't believe in heaven, so that pressure is off.
I didn't know that the JW only allow 144,ooo to go to heaven. Maybe it's like selling Girls Scout cookies. Only the one who sells to most boxes gets to go on the trip to Florida....maybe you get so many points for each house you visit. My son swears that last year he had a priest who said that the only way you can get to heaven is to convert an unsaved soul. Maybe it is the same principle.
Wabby, that book got great reviews. I can't wait to read it. I'm reading the new Stephanie Plum book. It is funny..per usual.
I've got to go to bed. My sil is running a huge cancer fundraiser tomorrow night. DD and I are committed to doing lots and lots of grunt work to make her look good. I will be busy.
Wabby, you have to get rid of those kids...though, I was that type(irresponsible and messy) and I turned out ok. My house is actually clean. Well, probably not clean..but not a pit, either.
My house is not clean, Lush. No where near clean. It's like I live in a frat house. I knew DH shouldn't have gone off and left me with them. DD and DS got into a big screaming, on the verge of physical fight yesterday evening. Actually DD was swinging, but DS at least restrained himself that much. It's not just the ppl who live at our house, but they each have an entourage of hangers on. I've taken to hiding out in my bedroom with the door closed. This has really gotten ridiculous.

I'm so tired. I can't sleep when DH isn't snoring next to me. Of course I can't sleep when he is, either. This idea the Dr. had to give me antidepressants to help me sleep doesn't seem to be working. They just make me wide awake and tired. I'm going to the movies with my big sis tonight - hope I can stay awake for it, I've been up since 3:30 this morning.
Sorry to keep on whining about all this and not doing anything about solving the problem. When DH gets back we're definitely sending our houseguest packing. Until then, just scroll through my posts.

I have done something to my back -- I think I must have pulled a muscle. It happened either while I asleep (is that possible?) or when I was getting out of bed, I don't really know how. Killing me though. I've tried ice and ibuprofen. It's only on one side, so of I lay down with ice under it, my opposite shoulder starts to hurt. Standing, or sitting without moving are the only things I can do. I spent an hour or so cleaning the kitchen counters and shelves because it hurt less than sitting, if you can believe that. I'm sure it will go away soon...
DD has been mowing the lawn today. How long does this good phase last?

Why Kiwi! That's exactly what I did and they did all creep off for a few hours, anyway. I told them I was at the end of my rope, and it had better improve or I would be changing the locks, and it wouldn't matter what kind of financial problems they were having. I'm sure they'll straighten up for a day or two anyway.
That restaurant did sound delish, Peachy. I love places that use unusual spices and ingredients. No restaurants like that in our little burg. We have to go to the city to get good food.
Kiwi, do you watch tv in bed? I realized that I was getting aches and pains from twisting around in bed to get a good view of the tv. Hope you feel better soon. I like Bagzie's booze advice, too. I'd love to go out for a couple drinks, but the sis I'm going to the movies with tonight is the one who is a recovering alcoholic, so I guess that's out. I think we're going to see The Notebook. It should be good for a couple hankies worth of tears. A real chick flick.

Thanks for the advice--if it keeps up tomorrow, I'll have to find some of that Blue Ice. The ice pack I have is awfully lumpy and hard to lie on. The back's feeling a little bit better anyway. And right now my sweet kitty is rubbing my back. Granted it's not quite in the right place, but I'm not complaining.

Been watching all those manly soccer legs in the European Cup. Portugal played against England on Thursday so I suggested to dh that he should go over to our Portuguese neighbours to see if they had any good snacks.
When I yell at my kids really loud they stand there looking at me like scared rabbits. For about 10 minutes. Then they go back to whatever it was they were doing to drive me crazy in the first place. Be strong, Wabby!!
