The kids are gone to my moms for the weekend.

Guess what??!! My MIL must have worked some magic on my FIL because yesterday they came out while Jay was unloading donuts and told Jay they would let him use some money to bid on the house. I guess she was talking to some people who have been in it or something so she went to look at it and liked it. Jay went down last night to look around again and the basement does have another bedroom and a huge bathroom and rooms partitioned and wired for 2 more rooms plus on the main floor there are 2 bedrooms and the half upstairs has 2 more bedrooms. If I win the bid I could put my bakery in the finished part of the basement since it has high ceilings and sheetrock and water, etc. So when my house sells I could pay that house off totally and not even have a mortgage. That would be like winning the lottery to me.
Now to see how many people are there bidding. I figure the odds of winning the bidding are slim but at least there is a glimmer of hope still.Well, I gotta get ready to go grocery shooping so me and Jay can actually do something tomorrow.

. I just bought tickets for the AI Live concert. They're coming to HI in September for 2 days, I'm such a geeky fan of the show I had to go and see it
. Besides, my son loves to sing and he knows a few of the "idols" just by their voices (i.e. George Huff and Fantasia) . It's really funny because last season he really liked Clay and now he sings Invisible ALL the time. I have the CD in the car and he can sing along for the first 3 songs, it's pretty hilarious. I was trying to steer him toward some Beatles classics but all he said was "can't you play some faster songs mom?". Anyway, I'm all alone this morning, hubby's working 1/2 day and the boy went w/my sis to see Shrek 2. Hmmm, what to do with all this idle time?

And don't be afraid to cry on his first day (most parents do) just don't let him see you.
I have not been this excited about exercise in a while. DH taught me tennis lasst spring so now we are playing (when it is not raining)whenever we can! I love that it is fun for me - nothing worse than having to do something and still hating it!
My brothers are 18 and 16 and they love the top 40 stuff on the radio (the 16 year is into more alternative music - much better than the 18 year old Britney choices) so I made them listen to a mix CD I had with Beatles (they knew), Jimmy Cliff, Old U2, The Clash, Rolling Stones and Led Zepplin and they DID NOT KNOW THE LAST 3. :Yikes: Trying to fix that! Cannot play name that tune with them
GEM/Summer
I've got to stop doing those insomniac marathons. I go through these spells where either I #1) Get books from the library and stay up all night reading or #2) Rent a bunch of movies from Blockbuster and watch all of them in the same night...
I'm yawning at my desk all day. But at least I feel upbeat. I watched the original Planet of the Apes (creepy and cool as usual), Gothika (kinda sucky and not even scary) and lastly, Eat, Drink, Man, Woman--a foreign film which was actually quite funny. I love renting foreign films, although it's hard to do two things at once while doing it--like, I like to fold the laundry while watching TV...can't do that and read subtitles at the same time
. I've never had anything like that, I don't think we even have poison ivy here. Is it something that just has to go away on it's own? or can you take a pill for it? Glad to hear you're feeling better though.
...it's like this you see: nothing much happens in HI so when we got 3 of our "own" going to Hollywood, everybody here rallied around them. Then when we got 2 of them into the top 2...that was BIG
and I would like to be able to fit into some of my cute shorts by then. I don't know if that will happen but I am going to try.
