Good morning all!
Geri, I hope you got a good nights sleep!
Candy, I don't know how we did it either with 3 kids and a tiny car, we were like sardines in there, lol. Our van should be here today and I am so excited about it!! Oh and DH will be home on the 20th. And congrats on the 1 lb gone. Don't be dissapointed, 1 lb is one less you have to fight off later And I hope you feel better soon.
Melinda, it's great that you still got in a 30 min workout! And I don't know about getting more illnesses since having babies. I haven't had any old or new ones come up since having the kids. In fact I'm healthier than ever. Do you take a mulitvitamin? I feel like since I take my one a day every day and sometimes one of the kids chewables too my immune system is really at it's peak. When the kids get sick I also hit myself with extra vit c and I've avoided everything so far this year, as far as colds and flu.
Ginny, I hope everyone in your house is feeling better now.
Well Tanner ended up sick yesterday. He started running a fever yesterday afternoon, right after his nap, and it's continued all night and into this morning. Poor little guy. he has no other symptoms except the fever. It's 100 degrees. He is eating ok and all that so I'm not really worried but it is making him so tired. And today I have a ton of things to do... hopefully my tax return will be in and if so I have to run and pick it up, go to the bank, trade out vans some time today. I'm a little irritated because we did the rapid refund and we did our taxes on friday and it still isn't in this morning. What worries me is that I already wrote out the check to the place we bought our van from and they know they need to hold it until the money comes in but I don't want them to get impatient or anything. I want to be able to get the money and put it in the bank so that check will go through and the van will be ours without worries, you know? Ahhh.... the headache of it all. H&R Block opens at 9 am and I will be calling to find out what is taking it so long. We have filed with them every year and we know we qualify so I'm afraid the guy who did it for us maybe didn't send it right or something. I hope not.
Well what does everyone have planned for dinner? We are either having sloppy joes (with morningstar farms crumbles) or burgers and fries.
Well I guess I should get off of here. TTYL!

Mid morning and I haven't gotten a workout yet. I did get my house straightened, not clean. JW still has the sniffles so we are going to stay away from the gym. JW nursery was the workout room before he was born. Being that his furniture takes the least space, that is the best place to workout. I have used him as a weight. He is about 18 pounds, so that is a good workout in itself and he loves going up and down. It amazes me the things we do as parents, but it is all worth it.

Candy: The asthma must be a Charleston thing. What are you taking for the ear infection. I have already had a round of amoxicillin for 10days and now they have increased the dosage for the next 10 days. I agree with you on how too much medicine can make it worse. Did you read the business review section on the drug prices yesterday? Walgreens seems to be the most expensive and that is where I shop b/c it is 24 hours. The insurance copays should be the same everywhere though.

Spryng: How exciting about your minivan? My DH is a wholesaler in the car business and he changes cars like clothes. I have had my sedan for a year and it is great for one child, but I told him to look for a minivan for the next car. He loves SUV's but I can barely get JW out of his b/c it is so high off the ground.
I take a Target brand multivitamin, but with all of the antibiotics that I have been on. I think they counteract.

Any big plans for V-Day! I do not really care for chocolates so that won't be hard on the diet. Have a good week!

Good morning all,
I got 35 min in on my bike today. I haven't been on my bike in ages, so it felt good to get on it.
Spryng, I completely understand wanting your tax return. Not to scare you, but last year we did the rapid refund, and it took two weeks to get it. Not too rapid. This year we just did the direct deposit into our bank. It should be there today or tomorrow.
Melinda, I agree with spryng. I also take a multivitamen every day, and so do my boys. We have only had colds this year, so I think it helped keep us healthy enough to not get the flu. I also haven't heard about getting sick more often after having a baby.
Candy, I hope you get better soon. It sucks to be sick, and then it seems like your sick forever.
We are going to go shopping this weekend and get a new mattress for our bed. The past 3 or 4 weeks I have been waking up feeling like I have been hit by a truck. Then I it takes me about an hour to feel like myself. I am thinking its the mattress. We have had it for 8 years, so I think its time. Geri, Ginny, Lori,Jackie and everyone else, I hope you have a good day.

Morning!!!!
Someday my life will be sane....please remind me of that from time to time!!!!

Candy- hope you are feeling better, hon! Sounds like you are feeling pretty crummy with this one- the tea I have used has slippery bark elm, or something like that- it soothes the throat/cough a wee bit.

Melinda- forgive me for forgetting- about how much to you weigh? Then I can give you the info on the activity points. Also- here at this site, some kind soul posted the actual calculation for AP's- so you did not have to use the slider. But I am happy to figure the points out for you! A good rule of thumb is for a moderate activity- figure 1 AP for 20 minutes of workout.

Spryng- bummer on the tax refund- I hope you get it soon! We did that too- 3 kids in a Ford Escort.......augh.........until we bought the van. Hope Tanner is feeling better!!

Geri- thanks for stopping in!!!!!! I like to read even the short posts- then I know everyone is ok! Hope your day is going well.

Did I forget anyone??? Hope not, and if I did forgive me. This is one of those drive thru posts.......I did my new WW excercise tape- 4 activity points for the 35 minute workout!!!! I LOVE it! Will fill you in on everything hopefully later.......... hope your day is going well.

I'm going to do a drive by post too! Dh is coming home again today. They have changed up his schedule and he will be here until Thurs. night. Worked out great for me cause I've still been worried about the baby. I have a question. I went to the Dr. yest. cause my side was hurting and I was worried about a tubal preg. I know I'm worrying too much. Anyway, he said the walls of my uterus was thickening and that he couldn't see anything else cause I was barely 5 wks. So would that rule out tubal preg? Would your uterus thicken if you had a tubal? I promise I will not be like this through the whole pregnancy!! Anyway he wants to see me on the 19th so he can see something. I will be a little over 6 wks then. Now you know why I'm soooo ready to see Dh. I feel like a basket case! Would someone PLEASE answer my question so I can have another opinion. Thanks for letting my wart ya'll to death!

Andrea, don't apologize for being concerned!! You have every right to be worried. And yes, the doctor should have been able to see if it was a tubal pregnancy by an ultrasound. Is that what you had? If you still aren't sure call them back and ask them directly. I would. Did you ask them while you were there? How nice that your DH gets to stay until thursday!! Does that mean he won't be gone a whole month after all?
Well Tanner is still sick today. I just can't break the fever. It's only gone up to 100.8, so it's not too high but still, it's been over 24 hours now. I've been giving him motrin and tylenol (not together of course, every 4 hours I alternate them) and it's still not helping. Any suggestions? Maybe a lukewarm bath? I just wish I knew what was wrong because he has no other symptoms except the fever. If it is still here tomorrow I'll call his pediatrician.
Well I need to get off of here. sorry I didn't get to address everyone! TTYL!

Ok, made the workout and JW is sleeping!

Ginny: I pulled out my weight loss file of every diet I have been on for the last 10 years. Awful to say I have been working at it so long. I just have to keep in mind it is a lifestyle change instead of being healthy for 6 months and then stopping. Anyway, I found my activity points slide. Thanks for your help. I have the right info, I just need to put my mind to it.

Have a good Tuesday!

Spryng, Is Tanner teething? How old is he? If he's older than 3 months then its not technically a fever until its over 101.5, I think. Well, I hope it goes down, I get the same way whenever there's something wrong with my little ones.

My Dh is coming home from Iraq on saturday, what a perfect Valentines Day gift!! I can't wait!!

Hope everyone is doing well, I have to get the house clean before he gets home, I want it spotless. Wish me luck!!

Hello everyone!

I promise to post replies to everyone tonight!! Just dropped in to read everyone's posts and to say a quick hi. Went out to lunch with a girl I used to work with. She's coming over Friday to MAKE me finish my resume!! I am filing for unemployment for this week which means I have to apply for 2 full time jobs each week (sucks since I really don't want a full time job, but those are the rules if I want the money). We'll see how long I last! Anyway, she used to be my boss then got into the HR dept and bacame a corporate trainer. She's very good with resumes.

OK, kids are crabbing, gotta go. I'll post again after they go to bed!!

Finally!! It's only a little after 8 and both boys are asleep. We'll see how long that lasts

Tony is just a horrible sleeper. He sure doesn't get that from me Last night he started waking up at 2 am and every 15 min to 1/2 hour he kept it up. Finally at around 4 he and I went to sleep in our guest room. I don't like to take him to bed with me ... hard habit to break, but it's the only way to get any sleep sometimes. Any suggestions??? Good drugs

Lori, So glad your Dh is getting back on Saturday. What a wonderful valentine that will be. Good luck with the cleaning ... but if he's been gone that long ... he won't notice

Melinda ...yeah for you on the workout Dh and I are going out to eat Friday night. He suggested Saturday but I don't want to go out to eat on Valentine's day ... too crazy!!

Spryng, how's Tanner doing?? Better I hope. Did you get the van? And your tax refund????? Hope all is working out.

Andrea, I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well for you... I don't have any answers to your questions. I'm so very glad Dh will be home this week. I think you need his support to keep you thinking positively!! Here are some good vibes

Candy, hope you are feeling yourself again soon. You've been down quite a while. How're the house plans coming? Where are you at again in the process?

Ricci .. a bike ride! I can't wait. I don't have a stationary bike so I have to wait until spring to get out on mine again. I started way to late last fall. I need a few 20 mile bike rides for my sanity ...

Speaking of sanity ... how's it going Ginny?? You sure have had your hands full! Hope you're getting a little time for you in there.

I really hope I didn't miss anyone! The half bath's not done so no pictures yet. I need accessories. Yesterday I went to Burlington Coat Factory because they used to have a lot of cool things there.... used to being the operative phrase. I should try Bed Bath & Beyond or Linens & Things... I feel the shopping bug coming on (oh oh).

Better go and relax some before bed.

Have a great night everyone!!

Geri, I agree about "used to" with Burlington. Do you have a TJ Maxx or Marshall's up there? They have great accessories, or at least did the last time I needed some! Looking forward to seeing some pics. I have no suggestions re: Tony. Both my kids slept pretty well. This might seem mean, but have you thought about letting him cry it out a little when he drops the passy? I know it would be hard but seems I've read that as a suggestion somewhere. Ever check out babycenter.com? They might have some suggestions for you. That is where I usually go with all my questions. Hope you start getting some sleep soon.

I am with you on the sleep thing though. I was up until 1am coughing and then back up at 6am coughing. I didn't cough much all day yesterday and even took the kids out to do some errands so DH could get some rest (he came home early from work, sick) and felt pretty good all day and then paid for it all night! Yuck!!! Anyhows, I am missing the monthly staff meeting this morning which is not good but what can I do?

Melinda, I used mullien tincture, 1 capsule of garlic oil and olive oil for the ear and after 2 days it felt much better. At first it just throbbed and I was miserable but that really seemed to help. My mom had used it on my dad before so I knew it worked. Congrats on your workout! You seem to be very consistent...wish I was!!! And I do think the asthma is a Charleston thing. I had it since 4th grade and then moved to Florida at 21 and didn't have a problem with it once for the year I was there and then have had occassional problems since moving back. There are a lot of people who complain of only experiencing asthma or allergies after moving here and the problem resolves if they leave!!! Must be something in the air.

Lori, YEAH on your dh coming home!!! Hope you get the house clean!!! In my case, I'd have to do it 15 minutes before he got there if it was to stay that way!!!

I had jokingly told my o.m. that they could hook me up by speakerphone to the staff meeting and they did so I didn't miss it after all!!! Kinda funny though. Anyhows, just finished and now the kids are up and going so I gotta get off here. Gonna have to get to everyone else later. Ricci, congrats on getting on the bike! Ginny, hope things settle down for you soon. Andrea, first time they did u/s w/Ky she was just an egg sack because I was only 4 to 5 weeks so they had me come back also and the next time my little peanut was hopping all over the screen. My last cycle had been 10 days behind! Anyhows, I'm sure everything will be fine and feel free to vent all your conerns with us, that's what we are here for!!! Glad DH will be home for you though. Spryng, can't wait to see a picture of your new van, soooo exciting!! We do direct deposit to and I have my federal usually within 10 days of submitting. I do my own taxes on the web, TurboTax by Quicken. Costs me $50 to do federal and state and only takes about an hour total. Hope you got your refund!!!

Hope everyone has a great day. Hi to anyone I missed!!!

Good morning all!
Well Tanner is much better today. I was getting really worried about him last night, his fever wouldn't break and he was throwing up everything he ate, but thankfully he finally kept a small amount of diltued juice down last night and this morning his fever is gone and I have my happy baby back Now about the tax return I'm still stressing, it still isn't in. I'm just so worried something wasn't put on it right or left off and I will get a phone call telling me we have to re-do it or something and I jumped the gun on that van and now I need the money in the bank to cover that check!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHH!!! I could just scream!! I'm trying to stay calm but I'm so stressed and worried about it.
Well sorry I can't get personal right now... I need to get some breakfast in me and maybe I will feel better soon.

Hi! It's me again, lol.
Well our tax refund came in and everything is fine now. Whew. Sorry I was so stressed over it. But now I am not. Everything is looking up again except that TOM will hit me this weekend. Ugh. I hope it doesn't throw my WI off too much. But I did get to get out of the house for a few hours and went grocery shopping and tonight we will be having Chicken Provencale (sp?) for dinner. Can't wait to try it. It has high ratings on the cookinglight website.
Well I hope everyone's day is going fine. Hope to see more posts here later! TTYL!

Hi again. Where is everyone today?? It is wednesday right???
Well dinner came out great, it wasn't chicken provancale, it was puttanesca style chicken, I read a different card. But it was great and the kids liked it too. And things are nice and normal around here again. I'm so glad. But I did find out tonight that h&r block did our taxes wrong and we may be entitled to more money. I'm on the phone with the IRS right now about it. Because DH is an over the road truck driver the government pays him so much money a day he is away from home, and we didn't get any of that. h&r block said it didn't apply to us because our income was too low last year, but his company said otherwise today so I am confused. I hope his company is right. So I'm on hold waiting to ask. lol. So I thought I'd stop in and say hello.
I hope that since everyone has been MIA today that you are all out having fun!! Have some for me too!! TTYL!

Spryng, if coughing is fun, you can have it!!! My laundry girl came today (instead of yesterday since she didn't come until Friday last week) and my MIL came and got both kids so I went to go get our septic permit. The ball is really starting to roll now and we may be begin building soon. We'll see how long these permits take to get. After we get the septic, then we have to get the building permit. That one could take a while. Anyhows, glad you got your refund and hope you are entitled to the extra money. I know every little bit helps.

Ok, for dinner I had a nice BIG salad and dh had a salad and a hot pocket. Kids ate at IL's and then we went out at about 7:30pm and got them. Man will it be soooo much easier when we are out there. It would have been a 2 minute walk instead of a 40 minute drive (round trip).

Does anyone around here watch Animal Planet. Next to TLC, it has become my favorite channel. I am addicted to the Animal Cop shows and I am also hooked on King of the Jungle, kind of "Survivor" meets "American Idol" of the animal world. Group of people doing challenges and such to see who will get their own show on Animal Planet. Anyways, I flip the tube on in my office here and kinda watch as I work. Bad I know but sometimes it is the only way I get anything done!

Well, it is surprisingly quiet around here today. Hope everyone is having a good day! Oh, one last note on my laundry helper. She and I started on our weight loss journey together. We have a little wager going for whoever loses 20 lbs first. She is 5' 1" and weighed 175lbs. When I started WW, I got her going on it and she is still doing it even though I am not anymore. Anyways, she is down to 158. I am soooo proud of her! She is only 17 and is really a great kid and I am glad she has decided to take control now instead of later. Oh, and she is 1lb ahead of me right now but I am working to catch up. I can't lose though actually noone loses with this little bet! Either way we have both won! Just thought I'd share that little tidbit. Have a good night!
