Hey guys!

I just wanted to drop in and say hi. Things here are crazy. I was supposed to go to Indiana to my cousin's wedding this weekend, but due to circumstances regarding Brad's family and a birthday party, I am not going to be able to go. I feel so guilty. I think the thing that irritates me the most is that the birthday party is for Brad's sister's son who will be one. He will never know whether I was there or not. :?: There will be many more birthday parties. Hopefully my cousin will only get married once. :o

Anyway...still going to the gym and going to start tanning so I can have some color other than "ghost" in case I wear that cream dress. I will take pictures so you all can see. :devil:

I am meeting Brad's grandmother to take her down with me tomorrow, but I am still trying to get that coordinated. It makes me crazy. I like to have my life planned. Does anyone have any good plans for Valentine's Day?

I'm trying to decide what to do. We leave for Indiana a week from Thursday. I am ready to go home! :lol: People there think that I am wonderful, and who am I to argue? hee hee

Hello Everyone......Take 3 guesses what it is doing out side as I am writing this...Yes..its another sleet storm..The parking lot is a white sheet of ice.. and all the cars are covered :cry: ..I cant believe we are getting more of this awful stuff ..They are calling for more tomorrow..:yikes:..Unreal..
I went to the eye Dr and my eyes are good but I have a slight stigmatism in both eyes but he said my eyes were 20/30 and no medical problems on the inside..I was happy to hear that one.. He gave me a RX for reading glasses and my eyes are still slightly dialated..I didnt get to the Water classes this am because..I went to the gym this evening and found out about the cost and what all they had to offer for a membership......
Its called Lifetime Fitness......They have it all..
So I did the tour and the prices were not to to bad..The gave me a discount on the 1 time membership fee and that helped alot..The monthly price for the two of us is 82.00 a month..The club is open 24/7....7 days a week
I came home and talked to Jim about it and he said that we could both join at the end of the Month..This will be a serious commitment for both of us..and I think we both need it to get us going on our weight loss.This is something we both need and I weighed all the pro's and con's and the Pro's won..Money is always a issue but for health reasons we need to do this..
So begins a new jouney for us..

Dana...I am glad that your car will be in great shape when they finish. I know thats a relief off your mind..The buzzer on my dryer says Signal also..I hope that you can find that on yours..I am glad that the weather did hold off untill I was done today but its making up for it now..:lol:..We will be in for it tomorrow weather wise.....I am with you about the slight weight gain is better that 5 pounds..I am glad that you are Ok with it and not real upset..You have a great attitude about it and thats a good thing..
Positive thinking is great...You will lose it..I know you will..The Pilates tapes will help you..Everyone that I know loves thiers.. I really dont have the proper room to do it..I think you need room to stretch out while doing it in front of the TV..I dont have that kind of room near my TV..so it would be to hard for me..I wish I did..I love the thought of doing at home..but for me right now its motivation and I think knowing I am paying for exercising I will get out and do it..:lol:..Let us know how it goes with The Pilates..

Donna....I sure hope that you got to talk to Elena's teacher with out worring about driving in ice on the way home.. I cant understand why we all are getting so much ice this year???..A friend that lives very near me..Her electric went off today..when she told me that today..I was so worried that mine would go off...So good so far...If it did we would have to get a motel..its to cold to stay here.....I got all my errands done and you can see about me joining the gym..Its a very big step for us..but I have to DO THIS...

Kris, I empathize with you about dealing with the inlaw families. I totally know what you are dealing with and I sure hope your cousin understands why you are not able to attend her wedding. If she doesn't now, she sure will soon! :lol: I bet you will look beautiful in that cream dress and I hope to see a picture of you in it. No plans for Valentines Day yet. I want to get a baby sitter and go out. But, I know what Jim will say. It's the weekend, every where will be crowded. :shrug: Oh well. We are to go to a Valentine dinner at my sister's church on wed. night that her church does a drama every year. She wrote it last year and she wrote it this year as well. I don't find that that will do for Valentines day but it probably will.

Summer, the gym sounds like a great deal for you both. I know just having that in the works has made you feel like you have made your first step. It is good to get started. With Jim with you will help both of you to be accountable to each other and like going through the treatments together and coming out a winner you will do it again through the exercise programs that the gym will be able to offer you. They would probably have a Pilate class that you can attend to see if you like it.

Rosey, I'm real interested in that Stevia product and those other things you were talking about to boost your motabolism. I find that eating breakfast in the morning is good for me to get my M running but any extra kicks would be great! :coach:

Dana, how is the car? Did you get it back or did you have to trade it in for a boat with all this rain?

Its a big mess outside today..Its a freezing rain mix.This morning it was really bad..Schools are closed here and in surrounding areas..There is alot of flooding around here too..Its just a big mess..Jim is off today. I did get the car back and it drives like new. The noise is gone, air in tires, new spark plugs and belts and oil changed and air filter. They did everything to please me I'm sure after I let them have it before they ever started. I told them I wasn't taken that car home in worse shape than it was in when I dropped it off. The brakes were squeaky but didn't need any new pads on them and now they don't make noise. DH says they probably blowed the dust off of them. Anyway, it was $294 and well worth it so far.

Donna you should see my yard from all of the rain so far. It's awlful. It's like a huge lake over flowing in our back yard and rolling to the front. I know you get the idea cause you're getting it as well.

I got a note yesterday from logans teacher that she was concerned with his math and that he hasn't done his math test from earlier in the week. She wants a conference so I told her when was convenient for me which was basically during the day or after school on days that DH was off so he could take the kids home. She will have to settle with that cause thats the best I can do right now. I hope she doesn't think I dont' care by writing that.

Summer I am so happy for you and the gym info. I would definately take advantage of that if nothing else, at least go a month or so to see if it's truly worth your money. I think it's a good buy but you have to make yourself take advantage of it as well. Let us know when it starts and we'll help kick you out the door! :lol:

Kris I don't have those "out of state" conflicts the way you do but most of our family lives within 2 hours of one another and we go through that. My first cousin has a baby with the same birthday as my sister in law. My oldest son's 11th birthday was sunday while on my dh's side, there was a bridal shower going on just 5 minutes from here. It's so hard to please everyone but you just have to do what works for you and don't feel bad about anything but just to go on the record I AGREE WITH YOU!

Rosey did I tell you that I was going to sign on with DOTS or CTMH? A lady from florida is suppose to send me the info. I haven't gotten it yet but it's only been 2 days. I may get it today. It's $89.99 but you get a load of stuff from what she said in the email. I just want to be able to look at the catalogs and order when I feel like it and not have to deal with anyone. You understand I'm sure. :lol:

Dana, Glad your car runs like new! I'm so glad. You sure need a break in that department of your life. What grade is Logan in? Elena made a F in math and social studies. I just had a conference with her teacher last Thursday. I hope that you can figure out what's going on with Logan and that his teacher will be able to meet with you when you can meet her at. It turned out for me, Elena was in another classroom while I and her teacher talked in the classroom because she couldn't see me till 2:30 and I had no where for her to go while I was talking to her. It worked out, Elena finished her homework and we had a nice discussion. What is that DOTS and CTMH you were talking to Rosey about? :?: Is it something to do with card making? I have a friend in Florida who is now a Creative Memories consultant. She's having a blast.

Donna Logan is in 3rd. They don't score them A,B,C,D,F in 3rd here but only 4th grade and up. They get U, S, S+, & N's only. He really hasn't brough home what you call "bad grades". We went through this with brett in 3rd as well. I have a meeting with her tuesday at 11 while the class is somewhere else. I find that the conferences seem to have better meaning while the child is listening if you get my point. :lol: However, he probably will be somewhere else. She was concerned that he didn't know his multiplication tables well enough. The CTMH thing is Close To My Heart stamps and supplies just like the creative memories thing. You can only get the stamps from a consultant. They say you have to sell $300 per quarter to maintain your status but I don't think that will happen with me. I really am just after all of the catalogs and to be able to order for myself when I wanted too. The girl signing me up was suppose to be in florida but she's actually in texas. She said they had a Jr. Consultant program for those who don't sell the $300 which would be more like me, I'm sure!

Well I have to get a roast thawed out to be in the oven for supper. I am fixing that with carrots, potatoes, onions baked in it with probably biscuits just to make it "square". :lol:

Hello Everyone... I am happy today I saw the :sunny:..I was so happy for that because yesterday it was freezing rain all day and accidents..
Schools were closed and I finally got out to the store and back.. I was so glad to be out of the traffic with the sleet coming down..People cannot drive in it and it makes for a scarey trip anywhere..
I have been a lazy bones today..Still in my jammies and reading and watching TV..I made some calilflower mashed potaotes today to have with a meatloaf I will fix tomorrow...I fixed some Chicken salad and I cant believe that I got my hubby to eat a Tortilla..he liked it..I almost :faint: :rofl: I could never get him to try things like that before..but now he is willing to try..Does anyone know the best one for dieting?? I got the one that says fat free..I want to do them instead of bread for a sandwich for him and me.. I hope that this weather stays awhile cause the snow is melting but we are getting flooding like everyone else..

I feel like such a slug. :devil: I haven't been to the gym since Friday, and it doesn't look promising for this afternoon. Maybe I can do my pliates tape tonight instead.

I am going to try to tan :cool: tomorrow and the rest of the week. I am also going to do the spray on tan on the Thursday morning before I leave. I am kind of getting excited. My goal this weekend is to find appropriate "foundational garments" that will suck it all in and pull it all together for the ball.

I also got some disturbiing news, but want t o investigate further before I talk about it.

Hi everyone.. we had to shovel again yesterday before we could even leave for that mem. service :?: it warmed up and the snow came off the roof and piled up on the steps 4 feet deep of wet compacted snow.. we have areal steep roof and its metal so when it warms up the snow slides off..the neighbir kids made bundle of of us yesterday..im going to take pictires so you can see how much snow we have its un real..but normal for winters here..the service was diff..and sad..my g friend gave the eulogy..she was really strong as i dont think i could have done it..it was a masonic funeral.. never been to one like that before.. but am glad she had closure..she leaves for albama today..i will miss her..i finally faced the scale today..id been not trying to hard since thanksgiving until the last 2 weeks.. how could i tell what progress id made if i didnt weigh.. well the good news is my clothes are looser and i feel great..however am not sure how much i had gained since thanksgiving..but know what i weighed after my surg..so have gained 3 # since then.. over the hoildays etc.. as im 3# more than what i was when i left the hosp..so thats an eye opener..am sure it was more than that.. but the journey continues..kris..your dress sounds beautiful..glad the party was ok and hope what ever your investigating turns out the way u want???summer.. i found a label for the yougart and it does have splenda in it and 3 grm of sugar..its the lowest sugar one that i have found..donna.. wow what a neat vacation..lucky you..when will you be going??dana..does that mean you will be a sale person for dots and ctmh??mr ken... i dont have alot of snowmen but sure do have alot of snow..if the grandkids where here they would be making snow forts and snowmen..daphnee the guys are looking for you :cb: :cb: :cb: :cb: ..and sheree...we are leaving for anch today.. the dh has a dr apt tomorrow..but the roads are bad so we want to drive while its daylight..other wise we would have to get up at 6 am to leave in the dark..we will stay with the dd tonite..and be home late tomorrow..im getting tired of all these trips but then i would miss hugging my grandkids and no walmart...will talk to you all when i get back..(((hugs))) rosey :wave:

Dana I just waned to say tht I had a dryer that bzzed and I called the warrenty in and had them disconnect it. You do not get used to it and heck if u are doing cloths at night? The whole neighborhood will wake up. If warrenty people didn't didconnect then my ex did. Lift the top of the dryer and yiu can figures it out I am sure. I would call warrenty first though.

Daphne I will post more later on but wanted to mention that your problem with PC sounds like a virus. It sounds more like the one that affected me a few months back and crashed my entire drive. The software I use has a free site that you can scan your computer on it's at http://housecall.trendmicro.com I would scan it just to be sure it's not a virus.

I have never been any where out of the US, Dana and I'm so excited but I had to call NC to have a embossed birth certificate mailed to me for a womping 55 dollars instead of going to Raleigh and obtaining it for 15. or waiting 6 to 8 weeks for one to be mailed to me. I have a copy of my BC but it's not with that embossed stamp so they will not accept that. If I was born in SC, I would have it today because I could drive to the county office and get it if my record checked out. ;) Anyway, plans are on the way now and I'm excited. Hello Everyone....The sun is out today...It a bit warmer and thats great with me..I have been doing errands and now I am making a meatloaf for dinner..Plus laundry..Never ending there. My friend has been here today using my pooter..Hers is in the shop..She needed to clear her mailbox and etc..So we had lunch and now it back to my chores...so I thought I would say hi before I get back to it......:lol:

Well, Summer my Dad is going to sell the house at the beach. But, he is going to buy a condo so he will still have a place there. I can understand, it's a lot of work keeping up with that house. But... I will miss it. :(

I am getting excited now that my BC is taking care of. The way it is though I am learning that I would not of been able to even get a passport with the copy of my birth certificate that I have now anyway. So, I guess it worked out for the best. Would love to go to Italy for our 20th Anniversary but I think that this trip is our 20th anniversary a year and plus some early! LOL :lol: :lol:

I have been so busy that you won't be surprised to hear the following about myself. Thank you Dana for sending me a pm I think of you all often and have not had a chance to check out any posts and won't be able to.. We did move in on Jan 16th and it is awesome...we were in Anchorage over the past weekend on a shopping spree for the house..sad to sa I was so sick that I didn't not enjoy much of it.. ok the Outbacks was awsome!! As for weight..I maintained over the holidays and am at a 63 lb loss as of right now..though I have been told to not excercise and to lay in bed all day long is brutal on any weight loss...As for myself...I am pretty sick, apparently I caught this virus a few weeks ago and my body has not been able to shake it and it wore me out...so as of Sunday I have been on complete bedrest (except the 2 am hour.. I just can't sleep ALL day!) One step away from being put into the hospital. The toxins from the virus attacked my joints and I was in extreme pain. am doing a bit better but go to the doc again on Thursday to get that go ahead to go back to work at school...the doc said I had post viral arthralgia!!! After looked up on the net it says Chronic Fatigue Syndrome... ho hum! I have some questions for the doc on that one!

OKOK so what are we all doing for Valentine Day this year? It is my anniversary as well that day. My neighbors were going to watch the kids for us Saturday night but we didn't think of it being a 3 day weekend. She asked me if they were still watching the kids so I knew something was up. I told her to go ahead and go for the weekend. We would make it a different day. I am a bit sad because I had wanted to go to the casino in Chelais, WA. They are ding the Newly Wed Game but for married folks. It would have been fun but oh well:shrug:I guess that my night will just not be as romantic as I had wanted.:devil: :o I still am not in a frame of mond to lose weight. I need to get my mojo back with it. The way Jason is gone all the time and planning on being gone all next month I just get to depressed. On the fun side though I have long distance on my home phone now. I am getting a pay as you go cell phone so now I can call you all and chat! Hope to see postings today!

We have 2 of those pay as you go cell phones daphne and I love ours. It's so much cheaper and you're not restricted on anything. I think they are better than the contracts you get into. I'm glad to see you posted. The thing with the stamps is I've signed on to be a consultant for Close to My Heart stamps or formally known as DOTS (dozens of terrific stamps). I really wanted to do it to get the catalogs but you can purchase at a little discount as well. So I'm not looking for any profits if anyone wants to order anything when I get the kit then you can at the discount. I can share some catalogs or make copies or email or whatever (all the stuff they don't like for you to do) :lol: I'm not looking for anything on valentines day but with it being your anniversary, I'd expect something. :lol: The car is running great, kids and DH are doing great. My meeting with logan's teacher yesterday turned out well. I sort of grew up with the teacher. Her mom lives over here near us but when I was a kid, her back yard was almost our back yard, divided by a garden. Details of meeting to come. :lol:

The meeting with logan's teacher was to express to me how logan was slipping in math. They got their progress reports today and he's slipped little by little since the beginning of the year. I am having him put in the after school math lab program twice a week on the same days that brett stays for his reading program. It can't hurt anyway. He starts it next week. He's have difficulty with multiplication but she said 90 percent of the class was.

Rosey I'm lost now. Are you gone now or on your way back?? Maybe I need to go re-read the posts. :lol:

Having a hard time being motivated to go to the gym this afternoon... :drill: I guess I need him to motivate me. May be I'll just go tan...at least that is productive.

All is well here. Still waiting to see whether a disease that I found out is in hubby's family is hereditary. problem is that hubby doesn't know about the disease. his grandmother let it slip to me the other day.

I got DH a cd and book for VD the book is called walking with frodo. it shows the symbolism that tolken used in lord of the rings and compares it to the Bible. apparently tolken was a big christian in his day and age and used the book as an allegory...i think that's right

Iam getting a new stove on Friday.:lol: OK it may not be romantic but I need and want a new one. Mine has a metal top and it gets way to hot. I have to go see what color the front is brb. :lol: NM I remember it is a black front with a little window in it. Jason didn't know what I wanted stove wise so he finally asked. He needed to know if I wanted a window in it.:nono: So I guess that is my gift!
Dana I hope that the kids get the help that they need at school. I know how frustrating it can bo for you. WOw that just makes another trip 2 days a week to school soesn't it?

Hi everyone.. we got home late last night but i was to tired to post..and had errands today so here i am..it was an awful trip on many levels..we got up there ok the roads werent to bad..the dh rushed me in wallmart so didnt get to shop like i wanted :?: got to the dd's viisited had dinner hit the sack and up the next morning to go to the appt and it was freezing rain..i could hardly stand as we got in the car.. we left early and drove slow.. saw the dr.. they did a painful nerve test on dh to check his legs.. and read the mri's the dr has referred dh to a neuraological surgeon.. his back is worse..he has 3 things wrong.. the bulging disc.. a bone spur.. and agenetic condition where the hole that the nerve travels thru at that same spot the disc bulges is to small..has mother and 2 brothers have all had surg on backs and necks to correct it..soooooo we go to another dr and then see what they can do to fix it..while we were at the dr's we had an earth quake.. then as we were leaving they said there was a travel advisory out.. we went anyways.. part of the trip is mts on one side and ocean on the other.. well it was raining and wind was bolwing up to 100 miles an hr.. we should have gone back..honestly i was really scared.. the wind blew us all over and rocks and sand and chunks of ice kept flying around us.. we finally got out of that and up in the mts..it snowed then ..but as we got closer to home the roads got better.. to top things off we were talking about the next surg and i was trying to convey how i felt and how this all affected me personally..well lets say it was bad timing on my part..as he just didnt get it..i know this is hard for him but me too and hes an awful pateint and am not looking forward to this at all..but want to see him well and not in pain.. sorry for the venting..but am glad to be home..sheree.. am so glad you posted we have all worried about you..hope you feel better real soon and pm me your phone # so i can call some time..daphnee glad you are getting a new stove..donna that trip sounds like so much fun..dana did you get your dots stuff yet.. am curious what you get for 80$..summer thanks for the kind words of encouragement..im really trying..mr ken hello to you..and kris hope things work out for you with the genetics thing..we are babysitting for valentines day..but thats ok cuz homes my favorite place..will check in on you all later..rosey:wave:

Dana, I lost 1/2 pound. It would of been more if it wasn't for my usual water weight this time of the month. Congratulations on your 2 pound loss!!! Elena is doing better, I think but still multiplication is a problem. I need to drill her more or put her in a tutoring center. Haven't made up my mind yet. No, Elena is not going with us! :lol: :lol: My sister agreed to keep her for us. She will like being with them for a few days.

I am going to see that movie when it comes out.
