Good Morning Everyone...We got lucky and the snow by-passed us..I am so happy..Its still real cold here today.. I am waiting for Jim to come home for lunch..he has a meeting close to home and he said he would drop by for lunch if I was home..I fixed some soup and I am doing laundry and other chores..
I got a email from a friend today telling me about Buddy.. Remember the man in our Yahoo Group pictures..Well he is back in the hospital today.. He was taken there last night..High fever throwing up blood.. He has had alot more Chemo treatments in the last couple of months and that is really tearing his body apart..He is already so weak from it all..This wonderful man has been through so very much.. He is a dear friend and I am so worried about him
Please keep him in your prayers as he needs them so much...I am sending out the :angel: to help him..Thank-you all so very much for being such wonderful caring friends..

Dana.. I sure hope that Brett feels better soon.. Sounds like the poor little guy has the flu..It has been going around here really bad in the schools and everywhere..It was on our local news that the hospitals are full with people with the flu..I know that Brett got his flu shot..but like me I got sick 5 days after my flu shot with a really bad cold..I hope that he feels better real soon..and that Logan doesnt have it..You need to be careful too..When the bug is in the house it seems like everyone gets it... I sure hope that the Blazer stays running..I know what a headache that has been for you..I know that you are busy taking care of the children...I hope that you can post later..I wish I lived closer I would help you...

Brett has strep throat again. Because logan seems to be like 36 hours behind brett with the same symptoms and they share a room, she's putting him on antibiotics too. He just doesn't know until he comes home. I called the school and talked to the nurse and he hasn't been in there as of 9:30 this morning but she would let the office help know that if he came up to go ahead and send him home.

I found out yesterday that our school nurse had been sent to the middle school every day at 10:30 to work half days at both schools. She's also put in her resignation. They are trying to convert all the school RN's to LPN's and give them less pay and she's an RN. She's trying to get on at the hospital. She doesn't feel that she can give both schools what they deserve in medical care when she's strolled everywhere. I will miss her cause she really is sweet and dedicated to those children especially mine. He daughter is in brett's class to so i will always hear from her I'm sure. I asked them what could I do on my end to assure that they hire another nurse. One lady told me to write the school board a letter. Mama told me to go over their heads to Inez Tennenbaum which is the state superintendent of education. The nurse told me that they had someone interested already so we shall just wait and see.

I just remembered I need to call and make some hair app'ts so let me run and do that.

Also try to walk for 10 minutes a day each day this weekend, even if it is only in place :) I promise you will all feel better! :drill:

Hi everyone...its sooooooooo cold out.. -25 below this am..we were going up to anch to visit our neighbor who had surg..and spend the nite with the dd and grkids..but it was so cold we decided to stay home..also i ate a really yummy but to rich dinner last nite and since my surg some things just dont agree with me..and i was up all night :?: i hate this cold weather..the dh is bored and tired of working on the brm so if the weather warms up we may go in a day or two..hes finding forced retirement is no fun.. as he cant do the things he loves to do any more.. change comes hard for him..so hes out grocery shopping :fr: now that can be scary :lol: will check in later rosey:wave:

Wow glen was that in one week? That's amazing. I will really be shocked if I don't lose something this week. I have been watching the foods anyway. I just came back from a 2 yr old birthday and didn't even as much as drink water. Everything was sugar of course so I left it all alone.

Hope everyone is doing well today. Our kids are out of school until wednesday. I have volunteered to keep my nephew on tuesday while his mom works. He is the same age as brett. Actually there are only 6 weeks between their ages. DH doesn't know he's staying yet. I used to baby sit him and DH really never liked it but the day care he goes to when school isn't going on is cruel. They can't take any lunches and he doesn't like macaroni and cheese and fish sticks so he goes from 6:30 in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon before he gets to eat again. I can't see day cares getting away with that so I want him here with us. DH has to work that day anyway so he shouldn't have to deal with the rowdiness. :lol:

Dana, how in the world does your kids get that much time off from school? Elena only has Monday off and Jim took that day off as well. I hope your home is much healthier now. You did good to lose that 1/2 pound. Don't be discouraged if you don't see a loss on Wed. But, I am willing to bet you will see a loss. :)

We are ALMOST finally through with all the parties for Elena. Whew! :tired: She and the girls had a blast with their shopping party today. Elena said this was her favorite of all birthdays. (She said that last year too! LOL)

Our school started about 2 to 3 weeks before yours did donna. That's all I can figure. They get a 4 day weekend in the middle of all months besides christmas and easter because they get the extended time off for that. Our doesn't get off for King Day but it just happens to be the same 3rd monday of the month so it seems that way. Does anyone know if the mail runs on tomorrow? I didn't want to put anything in the box if it didn't. Well church went well today but laken and DH didn't go. She isn't feeling well. She has runny nose etc. and it's hard to know what exactly is wrong with her since she's language delayed but she says "laken's sick" and when i ask "what's wrong", she says "because she's tired and needs extra rest". :shrug: Hopefully everyone will be ready for school on wednesday anyway. I have football games to watch today and right now we're all playing PS2 or Gamecube games so I will get off of here. Go Panthers!! (sorry but it's a carolina thing) :lol:

Hello Everyone...Its now raining and sleeting a little..its real cold but not as cold as last night.. We had so much sleet and ice.. We went out about 4:00pm and got afew grocerys and Dinner..I was so glad to get home cause it was really getting bad out..By 11:00pm it was a parking lot full of ice...
Today it has melted some and now its raining..So far no more has been predicted..and I hope it stays that way.
No new update on Buddy yet..I have put calls into his family to see how he is doing. I am sure they will call me back when they can.I am still praying for him and I am keeping the faith he will recover..PLEASE KEEP HIM in your prayers..Thank-you ALL...
Its been a dreary weekend and I have been really lazy..I found a place to do water arobics..and I am going this week and sign up.. $40.00 for 10 classes..Thats a great price..Classes are Mondays..Wednesdays and Fridays
I pick how many to go to. Its up to me.. I have a year to use the 10 classes.
So I decided to try to go 2 times a week..To start..then I will see...I can buy as many classes as I want to..
I am excited about it..Finally something thats seems to be working out...
I know that sounds bad to say but I was really geting dicouraged about trying to lose and I knew I needed to exercise...and I didnt think I was gonna find a way to do it and now I have...So I am very happy about that.
I am heating up a cassarole and fixing a salad... I bought Chicken at the store for this week..and more salad..so I hope that I see some progress soon.

Hi everyone..its still so cold here that i have not done much today..worked on the quilt while the oven was on..it warmed up the kitchen..our house is big and open and the living area is 28 ft to the ceiling with 1/2 loft over the rest.. we have lots of windows.. so when its -27 below right now the house is cold..even with the heater turned up..thankgoodness for heating pads and electric balankets..i didnt even go to bingo tonite..just to cold to venture outside..i hate winter..altho i dont have a problem finding things to do..but my poor dh is not used to having so much time on his hands..the bathrm is almost done..but hes such an active physical person that with his bad back..cold weather.. and few sedintary hobbies..hes stir crazy..or should i say cabin feaver..im trying to be patient..hes wearing out the remote :lol: summer.. the swimming sounds like the right exercise to start with..wtg on taking that first step..hope buddy gets better..and yes the dh has a list but doesnt stick to it..he brings ice cream.. and peanut m&m and chips home(not on the list :lol: ) glen congrats again on your big loss..kris thankyou for the exercise reminder 10 mint isnt so bad and ive been doing it..dana hope your kids are feeling better..how did the baby sitting go?? i got some new cutting tools for cards and srapbooking today on e-bay called colozzels..check them out..daphnee are you inot cards tuff yet?? they in the craft section on e-bay..donna.. are you all done with the b-day partys..lucky elana..ill bet she loved the shopping party..what agreat idea..sheree.. we all wonder where you are.. ill bet your in your new home now.. well this old ladys going to crawl back under her heating pad.. will check in tomorrow rosey :wave

I haven't kept my nephew yet. That's tomorrow. To get on the day care thing, the eating is only the smaller problem. For punishment, they have to clean the pee up in the bathroom and they don't get gloves. They put them in rooms for 2 hours at a time and aren't allowed to come out for anything at all if they are in time out. Or at least that's what they call it.

The kids are getting better. Even laken seems better this morning. I have a headache myself but that's nothing unusual.

Summer it's funny you mentioned the redskins because I have been a life long "skin" fan. We didn't have the panthers until 9 years ago. Before they officially moved to charlotte, they practiced here in Greenville so they were the south carolina panthers first if you ask me. :lol: But my heart belongs with the redskins and I would have been just as happy if it had been them. The panthers had never been to a super bowl though so it's just so deserving isn't it?? :lol: We're not having a party technically but the super bowl is on brett's birthday this year.

Rosey I am working on some cards here. I did a few valentines and fathers day yesterday. Hope you guys warm up there. We're just not really getting any winter stuff here.

I sneaked on the scales this morning and it's the same so far but wednesday is my official day. Brett weighed and since Nov 2, he's lost 9 pounds. He still weighs 153 but he will be 11 in 2 weeks so it's not looking as bad for him. Since he shows signs of type 1 and 2 diabetes they were wanting him to lose some weight. Well I'd better run and see what is going on. We totally rearranged the boys room yesterday. They need new beds desperately. I want them to have bunk beds that will separate into twin beds so they will have more room in there.

Dana I can not belive that a Daycare is allowed to pull that crap! It is called child endangerment to lock a kid in a room for 2 hours or even 5 minutes. Legally the kids have to be supervisored 24/7 while in daycare. The exceptions are when they are going to the bathroom and event hen we had to stand outside the bathrooms when the kids were 5 and younger. As for the food that is ileagle as well. Your Nephew's Mom needs to throw a fit! I would call CSD as well. They need a surprise inspection thrown at them. If the school is openly pulling all that crap I am afraid what the are hiding. At the daycare I used to work out the kids had been spanked, threatened, food was served to my kids late and cold to where safety became a concern to me. I would never put a kid in Daycare because I know what happens. One little girl that was not supervisored and a little boy were caught in the bathroom and he was *going down* on her. The teachers thought it was funny and were laughing about it! I was pissed and shocked but was alone in my feelings. Why does your school not do the National Holidays? I remember that they also went on another Holiday there. Please send me a Valentines Day card early so I can get more ideas!:lol:

Rosey I am so sorry for the cold that you are having there. Is it the dark time there as well? I would not survive the dark time there. The sunny time would be great but :nono: to that darkness. Oh my and the cold as well? Top that off with a bored hubby? WOman you need a vacation!:lol: Come down here and visit me my weather is behaving for now. It is the high 40s and low 50s for now.
Summer Buddy is on my prayers. I hope that he gets some good news. I am so sorry that you have the ice that I got rid of. I can handle the snow but the ice is a horrible thing to deal with. I hope that it warms up there soon for you. Just think Summer is 5 months away and Spring is just 2 months away! I hope that you love the water aerobics. Dana and I have a friend on another thread that used to do that and lost a lot of weight that way. I want to join the YMCA if they offer that class. I can also use the work out equipemnt that way. I love to swim laps so that will be a bonus as well. It all boils down to money though.

OK I posted so I didn't lose my post. Now for my weekend. Jason and I had a big fight just before Church yesterday. It was so bad we threw stuff just because we could. Stupid I know but I was wanting to smack his face and knew better. We ended up not going to Church and finally made up but the damage was done and I ended up with a raging Migrain. I slept from 2 to 6 and was dead to the world. My stomach was nauseous all day even. Great way to not eat though!:lol:
Robert got into one of his moods and I was not in the mood for it. He was going behind my back and trying to get Jason pissed at me. It didn't work. His bedtime is 8PM. Jason allowed him to stay up until 8:30 and played UNO with him. Then he was sent to bed. He layed in the snorking and moaning and bit**ing until 9:00. I finally got mad and told him to keep his door shut like I had said to him and we had been doing all week. He poped off and said *Dad said I don't have to do that* *I said fine!, but you have lost the night light* and I broke the light cover and tossed it to the garbage. I also told him he was nothing but a brat and a baby and I couldn't stand him lately and I was sick of him and his ****. OK maybe not nice but he has pushed me to far. He layed in there until 10:30 crying and snorking and being a pain in the arse. I had told him to shut up that I was sick of hearing it. Jason got mad at that time as well and told him to knock it off. So he falls asleep around 10:45. I decided that he can play that game but he was not going to sleep in today. So at 7:15 I woker him and Megan up. She had a late night being as she had a late nap.I have to tell you that it really was fun to make him get out of bed when he wanted to sleep. So for this week he will be in bed at 8PM but he can go to bed when he wants to. He will have his door shut until he goes to bed. He will remain quiet and not have TV or radio on. He will have no night light in his room either. If I go to bed and he is still awake the he will suffer with being afraid of the dark.
My house is not that dark. I can walk around it at 3 AM and not turn on a light. I am going to let him see how late he wants to stay up. He will have to have good behavior at school and not get into trouble at all. He will also have to make sure all his chores are completed each night. I will wake him up at 5AM if they are not done. I can go back to sleep when they go to school. Hahahahahahaha. He thinks he is so smart we will see how he likes me now.

With both Jim and Elena home today this is the first time all day I've been online. :) We went out searching for a desk for Elena's room but ended up finding a great deal on a new computer. We didn't buy it but it is all the bells and whistles on it for a good price at Sam's. We would give Elena the one we are using now. She has one now but it's coming more and more that the programs she buys are to advanced for the hardware that is on her windows 98 computer. I just wish these things were not so expensive. I am so glad that Elena's birthday WEEK has come to a close at last! :lol: She had a great week of being fun and fancy free. :) :D The shopping party and the family party yesterday went very well. Except I'm :mad: at a sister of mine. But what else is new! :lol: I told Elena she got everything she could want and doesn't need to want for anything now. All that she didn't get at Christmas she got for her birthday. The child has it made. LOL

Dana, I was appalled reading about that day care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They should be reported to the authorities. That is not good and I'm so glad that he has you to take care of him but what about those other children? I don't think that is good. I'm glad everyone seems to be feeling better now. You have had a rough few days haven't you? As for your school systems scheduling, you have to start so much earlier if they have to give so much time off to the kids to just equal out the number days they are supposed to be in school. I'm so happy about the Panthers aren't you? It was exciting game and I got to watch it on a big screen TV at my Dad's. He even bought us pizza. Yes, I ate a few slices. :sorry: :o

Mr. Glen... How much water and beer are you drinking????? I am soooooooooo happy for you that you lost so much weight! Have you tried a new technique for that much of a drop?

Summer, any word about Buddy yet? Our neighbor passed away last Thursday early morning. The memorial service is this weekend. How is the weather? Any better for you all? How is Jim doing? His tests are going to be soon aren't they? I had a follow up on my elbow today. He wants to wait another month before making a final decision on whether I need surgery on it or not. It's some better but I don't feel that it is 100 percent. He said it was a succesful surgery. Oh, I am so glad about the upcoming water aerobic classes. That is great news!

I started my Pilates last week and I'm still sore from it! It is so effective. I am glad I invested in that.

I found out some really bad news yesterday..My Friend Buddy was given a year or less to live by his Dr's..It still very hard for me to except this.. I cant believe it..It cant be right..I am having a hard time with this right now...so please forgive me for not posting earlier...I know that you all have been so wonderful in keeping him in your prayers and asking about him.. I am very blessed to have such wonderful friends like you all..
I just cant believe that he had to endure all of this chemo and radiation to come to this...I wont give up on him..I cant...

Dana...I cant beleive that a day-care is still in business.. I would report them to the authorities. Jim was so happy that the Panters won...He said the Redskins will never be the team they were years ago..even with Joe Gibbs return...The players dont care..They get paid no matter if they win or lose..Not the days of old...when players wanted to win they loved the game..It wasnt about money then..
I told Jim we could go to MB and watch the game..:lol:..I am so glad that Brett is doing so well with his Diabetes.. I am sure his weight loss helps his condtion.. Jim needs to lose..He trys but like me exercise will be the key to help him do that..For some reason the older we get it will not come off like it use to..Thats sooooo flustrating..but we will keep trying. I'm so very sorry for the bad news you received. It is never easy to hear those words and I pray that a miracle will happen and would prove the doctors wrong if it's God's will. That has happened you know. ;) The neighbor that recently died was given two weeks and only lived one week. I don't know how they can determine the time someone has left.

Kris, tell us all about Beth. What did she talk about? Was there a musical guest other than Travis Cottrell and the Praise team? I had to call living proof ministries today to check on my order of the cd's because I had not received an email confirmation and I was getting nervous. LOL Guess who answered the phone? AMANDA, Beth's daughter! LOL I was so nervous just talking to her. LOL How crazy, huh? Anyway, my order is on it's way and should be here at the end of the week! :) ;)
I can't believe I missed the first American Idol last night. I was thinking it would be on later than 8 and was looking for it at 9 and it had already been on. UGH! Any one see it?

You can relax about Idol Donna. It comes on tonight and tomorrow but all it is, is the auditions from the 6 cities they were in. Lastnight they only did new york from what I recall. It is more blooper stuff if you ask me. They did invite about 5 to hollywood and the most were turned down for good reason. I think the top 20? are announced on feb 4th so you have a while to catch up on nothing much. Make sense?? :lol: Do you make elena start on homework right after school? I used to do that but now it's only optional. I try to wait a couple hours for the brains to rest before starting at it again. :lol: It has improved their homework grades as well as their interest to do it without me forcing. :lol:

Summer I am so sorry about buddy. It always catches you off guard but like donna said, we have to pray for a miracle if it be in God's will. The last person I know who died from cancer only lived 6 months from diagnosis and that was after going through all the chemo, radiation and numerous brain surgeries that nearly killed her and she ended up dying anyway. It's really not fair that it goes that way but you have to think if the treatment wasn't done at all, how long would you live? I will continue to pray for him and you NEVER have to appologize for not posting. You are such a great lady!

Rosey it's in the 40's here but it's still cold. I think the next chance for snowy stuff here will be sat. night and it's only 30% right now. Most of the time the forecast changes to sun before that day ever gets here. I do pray for one good snow though. ;) I check on ebay every day. I have been looking for video game bargains the last couple days. I tried to get my sister to report that day care about 2 years ago. I don't know the name of it myself. Their are about 5 in the same town but I don't know what it's called. She had talked to several parents last summer and they had a lot of negative comments about that day care as well. My sister doesn't have anyone else to keep my nephew. He only stays there right after school until nearly 4 so it's less than 30 minutes most time. He had to stay a while one day last week due to her staying for a meeting but normally he's not there long unless school is out. Today went very well so I will try to keep him some on those no-school days. Lucky for us all they go back tomorrow. :)

Daphne I have said it over and over that you are a super mom to kids that aren't even yours. I am not sure i could do what you do for those kids to be honest with you. Jason has to work with you in order for Robert to respect you. I hope you saw some improvement since your last post. How old is robert now? I don't blame you for taking away the night light in that situation. That should have been enough for him to go to bed and turn out lights when asked to.

I have to get groceries tomorrow but have tried to come up with some meal ideas today and my list is still empty. I like to look through coupons and the sales paper for the store I plan on going to but we didn't get one this week for some reason. It helps me save money and come up with some food ideas. I am getting my hair cut again on thurs. but not sure how this time. I never fixed it right the last time it was cut so that was a wasted style. The top is too long for me and the back is cut so strange that it feels so thin. You're suppose to hang upside down basically and blow it dry to get some body in it and then brush it up and flip it up. I didn't mind that but it made the hair over my ears do the same and my face isn't shaped right.

Well I am going to post this and see what we can eat for supper. Dh is working today and tomorrow and i know he will be hungry when he gets in.

Beth talked about fear. How to face it and come to grips with it and then overcome the fear. The big question was...What would you do if you were not afraid? She talked about being victorious and overcoming the fear to get what God has promised. Romans chapter 8 was what she used primarily.

It was fabuluos. I really enjoyed it. I would love to get to talk with her for an hour. She is amazing. BTW Amanda is going overseas with her husband for 5 months.

Hello Everyone....Its really cold here again today..The sun is out but it is still real cold..They are saying we will get some snow maybe by the weekend.. I hope not..I go tomorrow about the water classes..I hope it all works out..
I spoke to Buddys ex-wife last night..She said he was a bit better and that if he keeps improving they will let him go home soon..She did not know if they will try more chemo or anything... Thats being decided later this week..She is numb from all of this and I can understand completly..All I can do is pray and be there for them.. I have so much to do today..So I better get off here and do it..:lol:

I lost 2 pounds this week but then everytime I make a loss, something causes a gain. For instance, my car is acting kinda funny and I'm baffled as to what this noise is. It may cause me to eat as I worry. :shrug:

I have been meaning to share something with you all. It's a story that's really touched me because I"ve been where this mother is in a sense. My twins who will be 9 in march were born 15 weeks early and weighed less than 2 pounds each. A friend of my sister's (tracy) has a sister ashley who has been living in alaska due to her DH being in the army but they went to school here in our town. Ashley and her DH adam had a baby on jan. 9th who was 16 weeks early and only weighed 1 lb 3 oz. The baby seemed to be thriving according to the progress she was making but sadly passed after 9 days. She died sunday. They had a website to chart her progress which included pictures. I wanted you all to look if you get a chance and if you're sensitive to a tiny baby, it's not a pretty sight. But at the same time looked very much like my 2 did. They are flying the baby's body to our funeral home on friday and adam has received an honorable discharge and they are packing and coming home for good from alaska. The site is www.thestatus.com and you click on "visit a patient" or something to that affect and the user name or baby's last name is Shick which should be the user name I believe and the pass word is Hannah04 This family doesn't know me but only through a friend through a friend so I didn't sign the guestbook. My sister just told me of the website yesterday and only about the baby over the weekend. She didn't know she had died until lastnight.

At any rate, I have to file our taxes on the web now and sometimes that takes forever which is not the amount of time I have right now. :lol:

(((Summer))) I know how hard it is to watch some one you love and care about decine. All I can tell you is to spend as much time as you can with Buddy. Make memories together that will comfort you as you deal with this. It is the hardest thing in the world to go through. All I can tell you is something Beth said over the weekend...(I'm paraphrasing) Keep your eyes on God. Our Father is there for us and wants us to trust him with our hurt and pain. Know that it is never easy-unfortuanately, God has promised that we will have tribulations and trials, but God will be there for you to talk to and to comfort you. We will too. You just have to ask Him for help and believe His strength and power will help you to get through. He loves you so much and doesn't want to see you hurting. I know you will get through this. You are so strong. Look how wonderfully you made it through Jim's treatments. I will keep praying for you and Buddy...Remember that you are loved.

when I came home from my ladies bible study this morning there was a recording on my machine from my Dad who was "checking in on me" and wanted me to call him. Right, I knew he never 'checks in' there was something up. He and my stepmother have seperated as of last night. She's already moved her things out of his house. I am very sad.

OK last week lets see. My dishwasher decided to pee all over. We have no idea why it just thought I needed clean flors? Jason thinks there was too much soap in it but the floor has no soap in it. It is workingnow at least. Robert was putting Soda in the fridge after the washer was fixed and dropped a soda. It exploded all ove the place. I had to take over the cleaning myself cause it was all over. Last night I had a candle going on a burner like I always do, I had taoasted cheese sandwiches inthe over going, was talking to angel baby on the phone and hear glass shattering. I ran to the
kitchen and had foot high flames going. The stove had gotten turned on and broke the plate that the candle was sitting and and the wax caught on fire. I had a hugh mess. I tossed baking soda on it and the fire went out. I was cleaning up my mess with paper towels when some got on my shirt. I now have a shirt with wax on it as well as a little burn on the boob from the wax. Life never does seem to calm down for any of us!

Put the shirt in the freezer for a few hours and scrape off as much wax as you can. Then get a brown paper bag out and cut off a piece that is the same size as your spot. put the paper over the wax and then use a warm iron on the paper. The wax will come up. You may have to do it 2 or 3 times, but it will come out. Can you tell this has happened to me several times? It also works on carpet..yep been there, too. :)

Still grieving the seperation. My youngest sister called me tonight to tell me that my Dad looked sad but sounded relieved that a decision has been made. I'm trying to pin-point why this is bothering me so much. I think it's because it took so much emotion when I learned of their engagement and to come to grips yes my mother is NOT coming back and that my Dad need companionship then now I having to "take back" those emotions.. All those emotions. :( And I like my stepmother I really do. I am wanting to call her but a side of me thinks that my Dad may think I'm siding with her. She may not even want to talk to me also. I just thank you all for letting me vent these emotions I'm having.
