I admit I am having an identity crisis. Since the internet allows people to choooooose their identity, I have decided to become a beauty queen. You may think of me now in my dainty tiara, my Miss Cow Festival sash, a glittering off-white gown with tulip sleeves and a curvey-pointed neckline and, of course, a slit all the way to the sash. Shoes match and are in style. They are changed regularly.

I went to my little house today and there were all sorts of thin, blonde, tan people working hard on it. Some were painting. Some were sanding or something. I looked at the kitchen cabinets and there was NO GLASS DOOR. I asked for one glass cabinet door, was told it was not problem, and yet ... there it wasn't. That has been take care of now though.

One of the thin, blonde, tan people was a woman wearing a bikini top and you could easily tell she owned another bikini top of a different shape and/or fit. Her tan lines were not a good thing. She was working hard, though, so we're fine with the bikini top.

Yesterday, at the office, was an unsigned (or signed "Interested Citizen") letter about the guy in jail. IC wanted him out of jail. Now, I believe it was IC and her ilk who called my house. I guess people who care about something ... like a wifebeater being in jail too long ... just can't imagine other people don't care. But I don't. How could I? I'd have to research this whole crap to have any opinion and it's not worth it. There's more to life than wife beaters. There are Cow Festivals and sons out-of-state and more and more and more.

The thing is I realize anybody can be a beauty queen. We had one who was doing her shopping on the side of the store where that bikini-top-construction-girl wouldn't find anything to fit her. We have one who was cheerleading since she could stand. She was beauty queen. Buttttt the girl never developed real relationships with other people as her mom was always next to her and speaking for her. So two months out of high school and she has the reputation now of "dating" men are from out-of-town, so to speak. I can't say much for Muffie may be reading this. Anyhow, anybody can be a beauty queen and now I am one. You will probably want your picture taken with me now.

I am just dropping by to share some exciting news with you girls. A new national park in Maine is going to be named after ... well, I can hardly say it.

I hope you share in our joy. I would invite you all to the grand opening of the Marchella G. and Sasha K. Van Voosmier National Park but I know you'd feel out of place.

If we have a beauty pagent, I'll let you know. Hardly likely though. How old are you if I may ask.

Default Graduating Son and better bed and breakfast

Some nice people in Nashville (INDIANA!) emailed me today and still had a B&B room for commencement weekend... Nashville IN is an artisty colony with a few country music aberrations... It'll be better than the Holiday Inn Express that is 30 miles in the wrong direction.

Cow Princess. DS is graduating from IU.... I hope and pray. He went there to follow tallented french horn playing GF from hs... He tried for percussion/music school but figured he didn't have what it takes... so he switched to ASTROPHYSICS. Who'd have know Calculus IV was easier than tympany/drum kit.

If y'all haven't read the article about weighing/scales on the weightlifting (!) thread, it is VERY reassuring. DH and I got home gym put together with only about 15 parts left over. I can hardly wait to see which parts of my body are stiff and noticeable in the morning.

Hey! aren't the new 3fatchicks cute?

I survived the camping weekend w/ DH & friends. We fished and fished, (actually I sunbathed and napped) but no fish were caught. Lots of staring into the campfire and eating happened. The lake we went to was beeeeuuuuu-tee-ful. High mountain lake w/ azure blue water and Mt. Hood in the background.

Bagzie, how is your sis holding up in all this?

Re: gutters - These are a DH responsibility. He cleans them, he fixes them if needed. Nothing to worry my pretty little head over.

Sunday was DH's birthday. He's in shock over the thought of being 48. We had a lovely bbq w/ DS & gf. DD had to work.

And that's the news from the frontier.

Default anyone looking for a job???

Farmer Offers Rental Cows on Internet

BRIENZ, Switzerland (AP) - Lovers of fine cheeses are being given the chance to hire their own cheesemaker - a brown-and-white cow living on a Swiss mountain.

Dairy farmer Paul Wyler is offering his cows for rent on the Internet, with all the cheese they produce going to the ``owner.''

``We have already had dozens of inquiries from people who want to rent one of our cows,'' Wyler told Monday's edition of the Lausanne daily Le Matin.

Cows cost 380 Swiss francs (US$276) for the summer, and Wyler looks after the animals and makes cheese from their milk.

Each cow produces 70-120 kilograms (154-264 pounds) of cheese - soft and hard varieties - which the renter of the cow can collect in September and either sell or use as gifts for family and friends.

Until now, prospective renters have had to go to the pastures to choose their cow, but Wyler is taking photographs of his animals so people can choose them directly from the Internet.

Wyler himself owns 15 cows - hybrids of holstein and simmenthal - but his plan has been so popular that other farmers are now joining in.

Wyler's cows graze on the Alp Tschingelfeld, 30 minutes' walk from the road, and the ``owners'' are obliged by contract to visit them at least once and spend four hours working in the fields.

Like many mountain farmers, Wyler has no electricity - light comes from solar energy. His cheese is made over a wood fire, with the wood delivered by helicopter.

Wyler came up with the idea because he could not sell as much cheese as he produced every year. He already rents some of his cows to restaurants.

Bagzzzzzie Wagzzzzzie ... Muffie and I want to know about the teenagers. We want to know:

What they are doing right now?
How late they sleep
How many times a day they change clothes.
What do they eat.
Do they put their feet on the furniture
Do they EVEN KNOW when you're in the room
To Painty, FYI, Muffie is sort of like Darth Vader. She used to be one of us then she went bad.

Painty, please note that the question of who went bad and who didn't is not as clear as previously stated. This is not to say that Sissy lies, she simply misinterprets situations. In the future, please feel free to write privately regarding these matters since everyone else (but Sugar and Wabby) will lie. XXOO L.

Default Glad y'all are still here, y'hear!

I had anxiety getting used to new site format. The journal parts defiinitely are different. But here you all are. Cowper, you changed your name... and I'm wondering what deep, Freudian significance that has.

It is hot here in Texas. Really really hot. but I was a good girl and did home gym routine after I got home from work. I don't have to go tomorrow until REALLY late, so perhaps I can work out earlier. I don't want to be nauseating about this weight loss stuff, but I want to see some progress.... which would consist of getting into (AND zipping) any of the 3 pairs of bright colored jeans from Lane Bryant that I got 2 years ago. I could wear them for about 2 months... then they just started collecting dust.

Lush-- thanks for the reassurance.... Who is Sissy?

Bagzz... thanks for the cow facts. I think New Zealand wants to tax the methane....

Muffie : Where'd you go to be bad? It sounds interesting....

I have been called many things, but never have I been compared to Darth Vadar!

Yes, Peachbutt, I do have a website, but I don't want to post it here. Feel free to pm me if you would like it.

Hello Paint. I didn't go anywhere, I just lurk. I get less bruises that way.

Heee-heee!!!! I love it!

Peaches, be careful. be very careful. do not move anything from your old house that can collect dust. if you only bring a change of clothes and a toothbrush, your house will keep that new house neatness.

check out the new smilies!!!

There are ppl here at work who interfere with my time online.

I went to get a pedicure yesterday and the nail person said very loudly that she would need to leave me to soak for a long time to get the dirt out from under my toenails. Thats what you get from camping in the dust. Then I decided to go ahead and get my fingernails done, and I got home late and DH was all bent outta shape. He has no idea how much effort it takes just for upkeep. I don't have time to work 40 hours a week and stay lovely for him.

I have an entire closet of those jeans in the basement. I got to the point where it was too depressing to have them staring me in the face every morning. Now I just go visit them occasionally.

Bagzie, maybe we could pre-sell our cattle. It probably wouldn't give ppl the warm fuzzies to get to know the cow that they're going to eat, though.
