Good morning chicks,

Another working day for me. Was quieter yesterday but we still had our day full of things to do including making small bags of product for a special order. People are picking up large bags of stuff for the ride home. Several came in commenting "we're back again..." and stop making such good stuff :D No one said I looked ugly in the brown shirt  I did have a go at the UPS delivery man (they literally have about 15 seconds to make a delivery). First he could not get in the back door because we had it locked. He had to yell through the back screen. Then I signed for the packages with the proper way to do it "Happy Lollyshoppeworker for Shop Owner X" I guess he thought I was taking too long to sign as he RIPPED the signature machine out of my hand. I explained I was not the owner. He quickly tapped my last name into the machine and ran off down the alley to his truck. He is not anywhere as nice as my UPS delivery guy at the house. I was chatting up a very nice gentleman who ended the conversation with "... you never know who walks among us ;) " I turned to my coworker and said "I just might have sold some popcorn to God" ;) This is what makes the day interesting. Now if we could only get something other than country music on the radio. :^: 2 more days of working and then it's rush rush to get everything ready for the trip. Mind is racing... Mom is doing better, getting stronger. The visiting nurse thinks she might be over medicated so they are dealing with that.

Annie - I would call Michelle when I get home at night but I'm not sure if HE is there and if she can talk. Did you just take a chance and ring her up? Thank you for the gardening tips, will put them to good use. Hope you have fun at the shower - any time spent with Lil Man will be good. I always wondered how you train dogs to be let back in. I guess they decide and you decide if you will tolerate their decision  Thanks for the suggestion but the only thing that seems to work for me is Motrin. Aleve, Advil, Tylenol do nothing.

Laura - let's trade phone numbers - I'll send you mine. Boston Blackies sounds good. I thought they used to be off Michigan Avenue north of Wacker. Famous for great hamburgers? Sounds very familiar. Hope you have a great time in the Dells. Weather is a bit cool for water activities but you might see a bit of tree color.

Mel - so you are still getting rain? Might make for a splendid color season. Yes, I am dwelling on tree colors because I was really looking forward to the autumn here and we're getting an early one and I think I will miss a good part of the trees while I am away. Yes, I know - there's a whole lotta sadness in the world, isn't there? :p Glad you got to visit with Arun. Sorry he is sickly now. Sometimes I find the Indians are big in spirit but rather frail in body as they are so calm and small in stature. So the office people are FINALLY figuring out to let you do your thing and not be at their beck and call? It's about time. Happy to hear that you had a nice day shopping with Jen - seems like it's been a while since you could get together.

Shad - I can only imagine with Annie's help if you two got together you'd be developing something to rival the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. I will send a pic of me in the Popcorn shirt if you will post a pic of you with a full beard courtesy of Sunday's fluff! I can so relate to what you are saying  Good on yah for nailing down another contract so soon. It's great to have steady work and best of all, this time you got to spend a little bit of down time at home to recharge the batteries before you are off again. Sounds like you are about as far from DS with the new job as you are now - or did I read that wrong. You know I can't figure out km.

Michelle - sending you good thoughts and strength to have a clear mind and sense of purpose    I'm sorry the relationship ended this way, but he made his decision without regard to you so you put yourself first.

Time to eat my yogurt and get on with the day. I'm tired and hope the day goes quickly. Love to all the chicks :grouphug:

ceejay52 09-15-2012 01:19 PM

I had a bunch to do yesterday. Can you believe that I mustered up enough stamina to mow the lawn. Today I'm cleaning house.

Sending Michelle hugs. Thanks to those who have called and given moral support to her.

Laura
Sounds like you will have the opportunity to meet some more of us chicks.

Annie
Have fun today.

Mel
Not much is going on here. Starting Sunday I'll work 10 days straight. Sure wish that the bosses would do something different for us so we would have to do this. I'm making plans and I'm sticking to them for these day's ahead.

Shad 09-15-2012 05:01 PM

Morning all,
Pretty productive day yesterday, got a lot of digging done and cleaned house so today we look all clean and shiny. Today is another day, full of things to do and another room to start on and declutter, dust, clean, sweep and refresh. After that only one more room to go and the house is spring cleaned. That room is the worst room tho.......... It will take a couple of days. Once that chore is done, it'll be a flylady type 1/2 hour per day or 4 hours a week to keep it neat and tidy. Wish the yard was that easy.
Today I will carry on with the drainage in the front yard and the wall. From there I will dig and put drainage behind the wall and fill it with soil and hopefully get some plants in. That won't all be done today I can guarantee.

Annie - When you come over, I hope all this will be finished and I will be onto another project of some sort. Or maybe retired. Well one never knows these things.

Ceejay - Your shifts are not very predictable are they. When we do shifts over here it's set in stone and you know where you will be and what you will be doing up to 2 years ahead - that is if you keep your job long enough.

Happy - Chatting up God now are we? :lol3: And do you think that no one mentioned the shirt because as a server (read servant) you become invisible. They just want the product - gimme, gimme. If you went up to them later and asked about the serving wench behind the counter, I bet their eyes would go blank as they tried to remember what he/ she looked like. Not that there are many male wenches around the joint anyway.

Annie - if you pm Michelles number to Happy, you might include me in that as well. Never know, I might get a chance to give her a call one night or morning depending on time differences. Always tricky.
Have fun at the shower with Sissie and lil man. I'd like to see little Sophia a bit more often, but with herself down there as well, I will have to pass. Maybe I will get Skype back on my computer and talk to her that way.

Mel - Sorry, wasn't listening last night. I was watching footy on the TV and doing a bit of a rant at referees, stupidity and man's infallible ability to promote stupidity and ego over teamwork. There is no i in team bro. Get it, got it, good.
I don't actually mind the neighbours chatting, but I would rather do it over a cuppa or something stronger rather than over the fence and taking time off from work. Heck I am only out there for a couple of hours people, wait until I am done for the day and start packing up the tools. At least this morning, no one will be up and running at this hour of the day - Sunday 7.00am so I will go out and work for a while when finished here.

Michelle - get yourself together and get back in here. You need your friends at this time. Partly to give you support and partly to pick up the pieces and get you back together again. I realise there will be a lot to do, but you don't have to be alone to do it. Surround yourself with friends and family at this time.

That is about it. Time to get dolled up in my tatty work clothes and start to break some more rocks.

annie175 09-16-2012 12:55 AM

Hey Chicklets of the Worldlie Girlies Type.....

12:30 am, cannot sleep, Sassy Frass is in my chair asleep. She is the biggest baby. She was in her cage, but woke up and realilzed I was up and started crying for me, so now she is asleep in my chair and I am posting...She is a spoiled lil babe. lol.

For those of you that want Chelle's number. I will PM you her cell number, altho I have not had any luck getting her today...via text or calls. I get worried when I do not hear back from her.

HAPPY....I am glad you are enjoying your lollipop job..lol but wonder if the UPS man is getting you mixed up with his associates whereing the brown shirt??? If he is cute....go for it....lol.

SHADDIE...glad to hear you are onto your yard projects and not waiting on me. I am sure by the time I get there you will be up to something else...just remember I HATE PAINTING and my painting reflects it. That is why C does all the painting around here. Just figured out how to get out of things I hate doing....do it awful...lol...maybe I will just remain on the clean up crew...lol

CEEG...maybe this will be your last lawn cutting of the season. If it rains and the suns shines, you may be in trouble.

The shower was quite fun. Sissy, and lil Sam (child hood friend of my friend, who grew up with my SAM only a few years younger) and I won the making of a wedding dress on a model (my Sam) with two rolls of toilet paper...too funny. We were very creative. Had a vail, dress, train and bouquet made of TP. We rocked.

Got home about 7:30, was going to sit by the fire pit with C, but is had a bit of mud in it and no fire starter stuff. So we watched a lil tube and went to bed. I couldn't sleep so I got up to post. WOW what a party on Sat nite...lol

Tomorrow we are picking my dad up at 9:30 to take him to breakfast. When I called him and asked him if he wanted to go, he was so excited, and I think it is because he likes Curtis so much. C goes over and visits him on his day off by himself without me and I think my dad likes the visit and likes C, and further is impressed that C WANTS to go visit him. Plus he takes him some food I pack up. lol

Got the house cleaned before I left for shower. All but scouring my bathroom and will do that in the morning. Getting ready to fold the towels out of the dryer then all the laundry will be done, and so will the housework. I do need to empty the dishwasher yet. Then all will be done.

New management from Louisville, KY is SUPPOSED to be here next week. I actually have worked with most of them prior to the upheaval and am very glad to be working with them again. I am looking forward to peace, unless they have other things on their agenda it should be a good thing, but one never knows what is in store. Either way, I am ready....have already been searching for new positions. It looks pretty good out there right now. If only I would hit the lottery!!!

Guess I will post, quit babbling, and now maybe try to sleep again.

Love and hugs....

ceejay52 09-16-2012 08:50 AM

Checking in, I'm back to work with a 10 day straight ahead of me. I'm not going downstairs every hour on the hour.

I have one more room to declutter and then I can do like Shad and do the fly lady thing. My office is a big big mess. I did get one trash bag full of stuff from out of the closet.

Oh I did mention last week about not getting one of the elevated tanks full. My co-worker left me a note this morning and told me they found a huge leak. dah I want to bump their heads together.

happy2bme 09-16-2012 12:10 PM

Hi all,

Yesterday started out slow at the store but then we really went into overdrive in the afternoon. Had an incredible day, sold out of the most popular stuff so the owners made a decision to close the store today which means I have an additional unexpected day off. :carrot::carrot::carrot: I like this job but it sure is hard on my feet and back. Plus I often come home with a heavy chest feeling like I'm getting a cold or just smoked 2 packs of cigarettes. I'm sure handling money and people's credit cards and such, you get exposed to alot more germs. My hands are getting really dry from constant washing and sanitizer and soaps. We went out to dinner last night and my feet and knees were so sore that I was almost crippled up walking. Hoping not to have trouble with my feet again like I did 3 years ago. I feel better this morning after a foot soak last night and some ibuprophen. This gives me some extra time to get the house straightened up and think things through to prepare for my trip. I'm also looking up some reduced sodium recipes to plan out meals for my Mom. Glad to have the extra day to myself.

Ceejay - 10 straight days working????? :faint: Don't know how you can do that. I certainly hope you are not also pulling the long shifts you usually work. That's crazy in my opinion. Hope things stay quiet for you. Doesn't that make you frustrated that they didn't listen to you about the tank leak in the first place?

Mel - loving your smiley cappachino this morning :D Nice that you had a good day today but isn't a dusty library better left for someone else to attend to???? Can't have you wheezing and sneezing your way through the day. And  I know, no one else will do it  The UPS man could not have cared less that I was also wearing his company colors. He was an older, skinny, ill tempered sort - probably just hanging on and counting the days to his own retirement. Hope you have a nice sunny day to enjoy with the kids.

Annie - thanks for the note. I saw you on last night but I was way too tired to even respond. I agree the TP wedding gown sounded like a riot - wish you had a picture  Sounds like Sassy is a lap dog - wait till winter rolls around - you may not go anywhere but the chair  How nice that C enjoys going by your Dad and that he's loving the attention too. They can talk about guy stuff and eat your food and feel like the kings of their palace :D How good is it that your world is nice and stable and comfortable - take note Michelle - things will get better for you too. Really they will.

Shad - now that you and Annie have cleaned the house top to bottom, guess I have to do the same. Thanks for setting the bar so high :^:  Some of the customers have commented that we shop keepers in town are a particularly friendly lot - of course we are -no one buys from a crabby person. Or comes back again. I am starting to remember a few random people and they seem flattered that I remember they were in the shop earlier and I do thank them for coming back again. I'm sure my co-worker thinks I am nuts. It's nice that you have enough time at home to get a few projects done and get your gardening fever satisfied before you have to head out again. I'm sure Sunday the cat has accepted that just like the toms in town - you come and go with the wind. No mind as long as she is fed and brushed.

Laura - sent you a message. Hope we can get together. Wish I could make it to the suburbs, DH has a friend who lives just north in P, but he is not planning on staying more than overnight before he takes off. If I knew he was coming back a day or so early to get me, we could have made plans to meet up your way. Maybe I'll talk to him about that...

Michelle - sending you love and good thoughts :grouphug: I agree with Shad, please come and post a bit, just so we know you are ok. We love and care about you so much.

Hi Ellen, no doubt you are running your way through the weekend. Apparently you don't have good enough allergy medicine if it's not knocking you out during the night ;)

Later chicks...

happy2bme 09-16-2012 12:14 PM

DH just called me. He is repairing a loose piece of siding on the mancave and when he pulled the panel free, out crawled a fuzzy bat. I do have pictures but don't want to creep you out. We see bats all the time at dusk and I can see them fly past the upper trapezoid windows at night when bugs get attracted to the light and the bats swoop in for a meal. I continue to be astounded at the wonderful things we get to see around here.

Shad 09-16-2012 08:23 PM

nnDrat it, just lost the lot. Back later

happy2bme 09-16-2012 08:45 PM

Went to a bar tonight. Cousin Stash's 40th wedding anniversary. We raised a glass and toasted. He introduced us to the bartender who had just returned from Melbourne, said she was born in Sydney. DH asked her if she was a Kiwi and she said 'elll NO!!!!" apparently the Aussie / Kiwi rivalry is as strong as ever. ;)

1day@atime 09-16-2012 11:06 PM

Mel - I know... I'm the worse to come in and check in.. I promise to do better.

we'll i better get to bed.. long day tomorrow.

Shad 09-16-2012 11:14 PM

Patty - What is a french drain???? Different from the common or garden Kiwi type?

Happy - I am going to have words with your DH. Born in Sydney!!!!!! Where does he think Sydney is???

happy2bme 09-17-2012 02:07 AM

Shad, apparently DH thinks Australia is filled with Kiwi's and the only natives are the aborigines.

happy2bme 09-17-2012 02:09 AM

And DH knows what a french drain is. Something the next door neighbor had to do down south to fix the torrent into our yard when it rained. I think it requires a great deal of digging - hence Patty's offer of room and board ;)

annie175 09-17-2012 08:27 AM

Happy Monday Morning.....

Sunday was quite nice. Lovely weather, got lots done. First I did here from Michelle. She is doing better and going back to work this morning. That did my heart good!

Picked dad up at 9:15 as C and I took him to Lincoln Square restaurant. It is a mediterranian/greek restaurant that makes everthing from scratch and so delicious. I had a spinach/cream cheese omelet (with a ton of spinach in it), american hash browns done real crispy like I like em, also came with two pancakes that I gave to C. Dad had his sausage gravy and biscuits and fruit. Curtis had a menangerie of food. Chicken fried steak with gravy, hash browns, bacon, biscuit, fruit and my pancakes. I only ate half and brought the remainder home for mid-afternoon lunch. Dropped dad back home and visited for a bit then headed to Walmart to pick up a few things. Came home C took a short nap while I made cheese dip in the crock pot. Velveeta, hamburger browned with onion, my salsa and a tad bit of rice milk to coat the bottom of the crocker. C got up ate, then we worked in the yard the rest of the day. Cutting lower limbs off two trees, pruning sprayed, set out my grandmomma's planter in my rock bed, cleaned out the fire pit, had a fire, C roasted some weenies (not sassy), he then went fishing with neighbor on the pond while I cleaned up the back yard and kitchen. Took a hot bubbly bath with epsom salts, got my jammies on, took a PM and went to bed. Sassy slept in her cage all night, I slept in my bed ALL NIGHT LONG....whew who!! That was my Sunday!

MELLIE...enjoy your weather as you usually get what we had. Today is our last pretty day. Rain comes in tonight, then nice for a few days and highs only 65. I am mailing you a packet of the Sweet Basil & oregano bruschetta chicken seasoning. Happy Birthday! lol.

HAPPY...so nice to get an unexpected day off from work, kind of like a snow day from school when we were kids. I am mailing you some seasoning also. Surprise it is your birthday too!! lol

PATTY...I did get a new puppy and we just love her. She is so sweet. Sassy is her name. You had a very busy weekend also....it just goes too fast.

SHADDIE...don't cha just hate it when you lose your post? and to think you are at home and cannot even blame it on the woes of travel....it is now serious. lol

CEEG...on your way to being the fly lady, good for you! Do the people you work with not even listen to you when you speak. For pity's sake.

LAURA...hope you are enjoying your enjoying your time in the Dells. Visiting with old friends is always so nice.

CHELLE...you are stronger than you think, you can do this! xoxo

ELLEN...come out, come out, where ever you are!

Hello's all the way around....have a great day/evening.

Love and hugs...

upswife 09-17-2012 08:31 AM

Good Morning Chicks! I had a busy weekend, don’t even feel like I slept. Worked Friday ight, then had a girls night with my friend and her honey. Got up at the crack of dawn Saturday, DS was invited to run in a big race (big honor) and something we said to him must have sunk in…ran his best time ever! 15.41 for 2 miles. Down from almost 19 minutes! I was a proud momma! Right after the race ended I had to run into work. Then I worked a 12 hr day Sunday.
Nothing planned for today, hoping to sneak in a nap with DD3 b4 I have to go to work. Tomorrow I will need to squeeze in food shopping and possibly an oil change. Both our cars are due!

Melody~enjoy your “fall” weather before the winter comes. Hope you get a chance to dry out soon.

Happy~yay for the unexpected day off. I know you are coming down to help take care of your mom, but I hope you get a chance to do some fun things while you are down here!

Shad~ohh I hate when I lose a post. Unless I am only doing a drive by I always type everything up in Word then copy it over. Another digging project already…I would still be recovering from the last one!

Patty~sounds like you had a very fun weekend!

Ceejay~heading into day #2. Hope you make it thru this. 10 days straight is a hard schedule.

Annie~I hope you got some sleep and little miss Sassy did not keep you up.I love the wedding dress with TP. When We had my sister’s shower last year.. I let the “little” girls do that and it was a lot of fun just watching them…altho I had A LOT of TP to clean up when everything was done.

Michelle~I really don’t know what to say, but I wanted to let you know that my heart is breaking for you. Know that we are all here to support you and listen if needed. Wishing I could just run up there and give you a big hug! We love you sweetie!!

Ok, better get this posted b4 DD3 takes over my lap. Luv and hugs to all!

upswife 09-17-2012 08:36 AM

Annie~you snuck in on me! Sounds like you had a great Sunday and got some much needed rest! Whoo whoo!!

And I Forgot Laura. :( I guess that happes when you post half asleep with kids bopping around! Laura I hope you had fun in the Dells and the drive was not too long! I love cathing up and spening time with friends!!

diyana 09-17-2012 09:30 AM

Hi ladies -

Sorry I was away for a few days. I was in an area where I had no internet and very limited cell phone signal. Anyway, I'm back at work today. I've left a message for an attorney. And I'm making the necessary phone calls and taking the steps to protect my interests. I went to the house yesterday to pick up some clothes so that I could take them to my friend's house where I'll be staying for a few days to a couple weeks, and he was so mean. Just downright mean...and hurtful. I can't believe we got to this point.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting with an attorney to see what I'm legally entitled to.

I've got a meeting. I'll check back later.

Much love and appreciation to all,

happy2bme 09-17-2012 09:42 AM

Hi ladies,

I did enjoy my day off yesterday. Did a bit of laundry and house cleaning. Then we went to a bar to celebrate cousin and his wife's 40th wedding anniversary. I had 2 drinks and a burger, but I was really tired and sleepy and so was DH so we called it an early night. Came home, watched some tv and went to bed. So exciting are we!

Today I go get my hair done - at the good salon. I hope I don't leave my entire paycheck there. :^: Come back, I have a few things to straighten up at the house and then I start thinking about my trip. DH is still thinking about when we should go but it's a safe bet I will not have internet access after tomorrow. I am taking my new cell phone which I hope works and has some internet (I think) so I might be able to do FB and email. Taking my Kindle too so if I can find a place with free wi-fi in the area (doubt it) I might get on. My cousin down the street from Mom has internet but he is mega freakazoid paranoid about hackers so he won't let me use his service. So unless I get over to my sister's place, I will be incommunicado for 2 weeks until we get back around 10/4 or so.

It's gloomy and cold today - I'm glad it's not raining right now but it's supposed to be rainy and cold all week long. Not sure what it will do for the trees but I think I will miss the autumn colors I was looking forward too. Looks like they will rapidly turn now and I'll just catch the start down by Mom but I did more want to see them up this way. Also with several nights hitting below freezing, this is the end of the garden. DH will not want to tarp and untarp, water first thing and tend to the garden the way it needs to be. I have alot of green tomatoes on the vine. Might fry up one but that's about it. I have several red ones to take to Mom's along with a few cucumbers. Not looking forward to winter closing in even if it does mean the end of bug season :D

Ellen - :yay: for DS running his best time yet. I guess you gently prod and one day they decide for themselves that maybe you have a point there ;) Holy :moo: all this running you do and a 12 hour work day to boot. You are amazing.

Laura - I got your note. We'll catch up and firm up plans. Hope you had a good time in the Dells.

Shad - sorry you lost your post. I think a french drain is a gravel / rock lined trench of sorts. Probably like we have directing the water run off away from the house as well as the output of the sump pump. Not sure why they call them that but I suppose everything needs a name :dunno:

Annie - thank you for the Michelle update. I'm sure her mind is not on the job but probably good to get out of the house and not have to look at DH which going forward in his case means dhick head. Thank you so much for the prompt fufillment of my spice order  I will tell my DH to look for it. And I will see if they have some of that in Chicago. I'm looking forward to shopping at Target again - one of the few things Mom has close by. Sounds like you had a busy but nice weekend at home. Glad you got alot done. Lunch sounded yummy.

Mel - enjoy that nice day, those are coming to an end soon. Thanks for the tip on Provida. Wasn't thinking about them for salt free but a good point. Ok, I will post a pic of "Batman" - the others can skip over it if squeemish. He has a new home (bat house) on one of the garden posts.

Patty - good to hear from you. I'm on FB, will send you a friend request.

Ceejay - how goes the work week? And the cleaning? or is that on the back burner for now?

Michelle - love to you

Ok, gotta hop in the shower and get on with the day. Take it easy kids.

happy2bme 09-17-2012 09:45 AM

Michelle -don't give him a BIT of anything. Be very careful. Make copies of all your bank statements and financial balances at this point if you haven't done so already. Also check with the attorney and make sure you leaving does not constitute abandonment although I know the last thing you want to see at this point is his mug. I say this with love so that he doesn't screw you. He should be the one out of the house.

Morning all.

Annie – Thanks for the updates re Michelle. Glad to hear she’s going back to work today. She needs to focus on something else right now if just for a short time, that’s for sure. So sweet that C. goes to visit with your dad. He's such a keeper!! The breakfast sounded delish – yup, if the hash browns aren’t crispy, just don’t serve ‘em to me! Yay for a good night’s sleep!!

Patty – Sounds like a full and fun weekend. Get here when you can/want – there’s only so much time! I’m on FB, can’t recall if we’re friends on it at the moment, and I go and check things out on fb but don’t do much posting at all.

Ceejay – Ten days in a row? Are you filling in for another person’s vacation or something? Will you be working those long days for all 10? Yikes. Sure hope it stays quiet for you. :)

Happy – Glad you had a day off!! Personally, I thank you for not posting bat pics!! :D Safe travels, and I've PM’d you my numbers. I can certainly take off work a wee bit early to meet with you so you can get back to the house before it gets too dark.

Shad – Hope you get some R&R before you start your next assignment – oh the projects you’ve taken on! Digging has become a dirty word for me ever since I hacked away at rock hard dirt in June and hurt my arm. I believe a French drain requires digging around the perimeter of the house’s foundation and laying down gravel/crushed rock and on top of that perforated drainpipe so as to provide drainage away from the house instead of water seeping into it.

Mel – We could use some of the rain you're getting - I think we’ve got some in our forecast today, but only isolated showers, so we probably won’t get any. Hope things stay quiet around there, and no drama please!!

Ellen – How in the world do you do all you do???!!! Maybe on Wednesday you’ll get a breather. :crossed:

Michelle – Glad to see you pop in, we sure missed you. Sorry things are so bad with him –sooo glad you’re going to set up a meeting with an attorney. With an ugly ending like this, you need someone to protect your interests. (And Happy’s right – definitely make sure you don’t risk anything by staying away from the house too long.) Hope you find some respite in your work today.
--
Well, back to work today. Quiet here – boss and sr mgr out today, and the admin just arrived, having had some sort of snag with childcare for her daughter - thanks to the !@#$% teacher strike. Not taking sides, just a bad situation for all.

My weekend with friends was nice. The drive to Wisconsin Dells is about 2.5-3 hours, but it always goes so fast when I’m with my friend D – so much to talk about. :) The hotel was nice, and Friday we had lunch when we arrived, then got settled at the hotel, drove around the main drag before heading to another friend’s home in nearby Reedsburg. The seven of us then went to dinner at a great mom & pop Italian place near their house. I could have made a dinner of the garlic knots (rolls) alone!!

Saturday was spent in town at the craft fair, art fair, flea market, shops along the strip, and a tour of the dells scenery on and off the water in a “duck” (amphibious water vehicles once used by the military). I’d post a photo, but the photos I e-mailed to myself from my phone are, of course, going unsent. At some point they will go and I will post them. I bought a few things, including two necklaces and some earrings and some fudge (of course). At the end of the afternoon, there’s a store with beautiful “North Woods” type decorative furnishings/accessories (attached is a pic of a vase I like) that every year during this festival holds a raffle of a variety of things and I won an interesting clock. I’ll have to post of pic of that as well so you understand "interesting". Another friend, who attends this festival and these drawings every year, also won something as well. There were seven of us again for dinner, and then we stopped at the outlet mall before they closed. I bought a couple nice tops at a store I’d never heard of…but there are apparently a few in my area.

Each of our two evenings was capped by a session in the hotel’s whirlpool and pool. My friend D’s knee was really bugging her, and my friend S’s new hip got a real workout after her long day (she and her dh got started before 8 am on Saturday) and so they particularly enjoyed the whirlpool. I feel so fortunate for my good health, and am once again motivated to get back on the exercise wagon. Meals weren’t light or healthy, but I wasn’t eating between meals, so I’m happy that the scale was unchanged this morning.

Okay, I better get this posted and back to work.

1day@atime 09-17-2012 12:49 PM

Mitchelle - You should get 1/2 of it, but I don't know your laws up there.
think spousal support, 401K, retirement, house, anything of value. It all adds up. Keeping you in prayers.. get a good lawyer and at this point, it's about making things right with you.. Love you girl.. Stay Strong, we are all here for you.. Oh, be careful about posting where he can see it, never know who he has checking in on you... :)

ceejay52 09-17-2012 01:49 PM

Michelle
Hugs, Hope things settle down for you soon. So glad to hear that you have obtained a lawyer.

Patty
Good to see you again. Sounds like you had a good week end.

Laura
Yes I'm filling in for a co-worker. She did for me when I took vacation.

Happy
I've put the deep cleaning on hold for now. The house looks half way decent with just the decluttering. I've relented and asked my neighbor to clean Thursday so I would not have to while working these long hours. I' m keep thinking I don't want to go back to the ER.

Mel
Are you still having some quiet days? I hope so.

Shad
Do you know when you'll start the new assignment? Will it be local?

Ellen
Congrats on your son's personal victory.

-----
No news is good news. We did get some rain. A cold front is moving our direction which will bring down the temps to the 50's at night. I'm ready for some fall weather.

Shad 09-17-2012 05:03 PM

Morning all,
Quick dash through today as my to-do list fills a complete page of my notebook. Then it is on with the day.

Patty - from Happy's description of a french drain, I think that is what I have been digging in my yard. I think by the time I get to the end of this one, I will have had my fill of drains, drainage and block walls. Thank you all the same. Can I have board and lodgings if I only trim the hedge and mow the lawn??

Happy - suggest that DH learns to do a 5 minute mile if he is going to continue to ask Australians born in Sydney and Aussie sheilas at that if they are Kiwi. If he gets more than one of them together and says things like that, he might very well get shot full of holes. Found a bat hey? I don't mind bats - that is until they cr*p all over the fence while eating the palm seeds and nuts. They do scavenge - well some of them do and they do keep insects down. Certainly the fruit bats are a bit of a problem round here because they eat the ripening fruit in orchards etc. But all in all, I will take them any time over rats.

Annie - dinner sounded nice. Beat my Chicken Cashew Curry (Sri Lankan style) anyway. So nice that C looks after your dad as well. Your garden sounds like it is nice again.

Ceejay - 10 days straight. Sure you are not working in the mines??? They do crazy shifts like 21 days on and 9 days off. 14 days on 5 days off. Can't say that I blame you for getting in a cleaner. Once you get the house clean you really don't want all that effort to go to waste.

Ellen - Congratulations to DS - well done.
Usually I highlight and copy my posts while I am typing since the computer holds the last copy function until told otherwise or shut down. However yesterday I was just getting to that point when something I touched highlighted the whole lot and then when I was typing the next word deleted it all and substituted the new type. Lucky me. I hate it when something I can't explain does what is unexpected.

Michelle - Hang in there. As I said on facebook chat, he no longer has the power to hurt you unless he physically abuses you. You are stronger than that. You have a long road in front of you, but you need to give yourself the power to overcome the past and the physical effort of the present.

Mel - I wont hurt Happy's DH, but he better no go down dark alleys if he is going to say those sorts of things to an Aussie sheila. He'll be hung, drawn and quartered and have his you know what stuffed you know where.

Think that is everyone. Today as I said I have a whole raft of things to do. I need to take my x-ray pictures of my lovely jawbone up to the dentist. I was told that the results would be sent to the dentist and the photos stay with me, but apparently that may not be the case because when I rung the surgery yesterday, they didn't have the results - after a week! I ask you. Do not get me started on my favourite subject for a :soap:
Then I need to get started on the spare room. Things are changing quite rapidly here. The g/f of DS2 decided to rent out her space when they had finished the reno's on DS2's house so they took it to the real estate agent DS2 uses. They said they needed a fortnight to get their place habitable (no bathroom, not much in the way of stairs etc.) And the agent has found tenants and they are ready to move in next Tuesday (not today). Does anyone ever listen anymore? So they maybe coming to live here instead. It would work out fine since I am going away again soon but I don't think they wanted it that way. Then I have to try and see if I can get an appointment for a boob squish. I need some more geotextile fabric and I need to get some more of that crushed brick gravel inside the gate rather than on the curb. There is a matter of some lawn to mow and fertilse and some garden to weed and fertilise and some plants to plant and some more soil to more. It is self perpetrating (sp). Anyway, whinging about it on here is not getting it done. Breakfast, then tick off the list one by one. Only way to get things done.

annie175 09-18-2012 08:26 AM

Good Morning My Dear Chicklets.....

Breakfast of the stars...my mouth in on fire. Cottage cheese with chives, tomatos and a jalapeno, and of course my pumpkin spice latte' from Starbucks, I like to treat myself at least once every couple of weeks to SB. Cheap treat...4.09, and I believe I am worth that every couple of weeks.

Sissy colored my hair last night, didn't get home til 6:10. When I got home, C was eating the last of the brushetta chicken for dinner. We chatted, watched some tube and he went to bed around 8. I stayed up till about 10. Probably should of went to bed earlier.

Work is in a frazzle. Our new management has yet to come for a visit to let us know who will report to Louisville (my vote for me), and who will report to Chicago. Altho Chicago's VP used to work in this office and I like him a lot. Very laid back. Either way shouldn't be too disturbing. Just the unknowing and what the H we are supposed to be doing. Like who do we now report our expenses? Michigan has made it perfectly clear they no longer want us in their budgeting, nothing like la la land.

Sassy was full of vem and vinegar last night. Running around, throwing her toys in the air (that are as big as she is), and jumping across the room like a rabbit. She was quite entertaining. She is even starting to go to the door by herself when she wants to go potty. YEAH!!! Today is one of the first days she has to stay home by herself. Sissy has too many errands, etc to do today. Plus she started babysitting a 15 mo old boy on M, TH & F. She called me yesterday and said she was about to pull her hair out and go postal as he cried the ENTIRE day. She is giving it a few weeks and if it doesn't get better she will tell the mom she will not watch him. I guess lil man just sat in a daze looking at this lil (chubby, thick) baby crying, like dude, what the H is your problem. Knock it off.

MELLIE....We had nasty weather last night also. So much so, Sassy would not go out to potty....instead she tinkled a little in her cage. God love her...I wouldn't want to go squat on wet cold grass either....haha I think this weather makes everyone ache, including my head this morning. May have to pop some meds...better living through chemicals...

SHADDIE...a whole notebook page full of to do items...wow. Hope the notebook is a small 2 x 3 inch pocket size. I understand tho, I have a list myself, but we do not stress over it and get done what we want to get done. Here it is fall and it is time to finish painting the inside of the house. Two baths and three bedrooms. May leave the laundry room for spring. Altho it probably needs it the worst.

CEEG...are we on day 3 of your 10 day stretch? May the force be with you sister. I remember when I was working both jobs between the two I worked 38 days straight once. (CVS & Humana, including weekends)...talk about tired and getting nothing done at home.

LAURA...so glad you had a great time in the Dells. What a neat looking vase. Different. And won a clock to boot. Rock on! THe teacher's strike has been on the news here every day. I guess the teachers are supposed to vote today on the contract. Hope it all goes well and the kidlets are back in school.

HAPPY....if there are any unusual spices you cannot find and want, just let me know, we have a Penzy Spice store right down the street from Humana. I usually run out during the day and pick things up. I can't wait for you to try the chicken recipe. Have safe travels and prayers for momma.

CHELLE....hope your day is going well, you are staying strong, and have your head in the right place. Do NOT give an inch when it comes to that pr*ck. Shame on him, and remember what goes around comes around. He will answer to the MAN upstairs when time comes...then fry real crispy....can you tell I am p*$$ed off at him?

PATTY...glad to see you posting again. Hope your day is going well and all is sweet in your world.

ELLEN...job well done for your son!! I remember those days of sports with my kids...oh so long ago. Try to get a lil rest so you can go strong with the rest of your week.

Hello to all, must get a refill on some of the yucky office coffee. At least it has a caffeine to keep me going for sleep lost last night.

Love, Hugs and Prayers....

annie175 09-18-2012 08:27 AM

ELLEN...you are my sneaker inner...have a rest filled fun day with everyone. You are such a good person to help others like you do.....xoxo

annie175 09-18-2012 08:30 AM

Grabbed this from Moderator CindyM's blog..liked it and posting it for all the worldlies...

diyana 09-18-2012 09:46 AM

Hi ladies -

Thanks so much for all your love and support. Hopefully, I'll have time to catch up on personals one of these days. I met with an attorney and got some valuable advice...also got an estimate as to how much it's gonna cost to free myself of the a**hole. He's so not worth it. Can't go into any more details right now.

Suffice to say that I appreciate and still need ALL your prayers of strength I know, I know...you've been sending them for weeks, and I am eternally grateful. I love you sistas.

Anyway, gotta get back to it.

Much love,

happy2bme 09-18-2012 10:11 AM

Michelle - prayers are free, you can have as many of them as you want and need from all of us ;)

Be strong. Remember that living a good life is the best revenge.

happy2bme 09-18-2012 11:15 AM

Good morning ladies,

Super busy day today. Packing, cooking, errands, etc. Good thing I got a good sleep last night.

Michelle - I send good thoughts to you several times a day. It's just a shame that you are dragged along to spend your hard earned money to follow a decision that was not yours to make. I do understand that sometimes a relationship runs it's course, and sometimes you grow to be 2 different people. In that case you amically part, each pays their share. But when one decides it's over, I believe they should bear the brunt of the costs - and that goes for whether it's the husband or the wife who decides that. In any regard, make sure you put yourself first and do not compromise you, your life or your self esteem. Ok?

Annie - your blog link does not work. I hope that everything works out well for you on the office front. Changes like that make it so tough on the workers who are just trying to get through the day. I would live to see Sassy dancing like a rabbit! :D How cute must that be. Oh boy on the new baby sitting gig for Sissy. Sounds like a baby that is not used to being separated from his momma. Wouldn't it be funny if Lil Man started baby babbling to the town crier to shuddup and get over it already  Thank you for the offer of the spices. I have already mail ordered from Penzey's twice since we moved here. We get their catalog and DH pours over the recipes - he always finds something he likes. We tried an oven baked stew from the fall catalog that I liked more than he did but he said he'd just tweek it a bit for his tastes. But don't you just love that store?

Laura - I will give you a call once I get into town one night and we can firm up our plans. Looking forward to meeting you. I love the vase. Very pretty.

Ellen - hope you wake up. I'd love to go to the park and feed ducks. I'd even agree to behave for my Mom for that treat :D

Mel - bummer that you didn't get a good rest. Thought the gloomy weather was better for sleeping. How is Jen's foot doing? I guess I will have to email you the pic of the bat since I don't want to be creeping out the chicks here. The trees are turning quickly so I'm sorry that I won't have some nice pictures of the colors to send you guys. Was looking forward to some shots of trees surrounding some of the many lakes we have here. Behave yourself while I am gone, ok?

Shad - do you EVER rest when you are home? Seems like you are in a constant state of activity - like Ellen here  I hope things work out for DS2. Sunday the cat must be used to the steady stream of folks in and out and then periods of solitude. Hope you can get that ambitious list of yours done before you head out again - it's coming up fast. And yes, DH has ALOT to learn about Ozzies and Kiwis. But we have the rest of time to teach him. And the bartender is a really, really nice person so I don't think she'll be hacking his nuts off soon. ;)

Hello Patty and Ceejay  What's this about Miss Turtle getting hitched??????

I'd better get off the computer and over to the stove. Nothing important is getting done sitting here. If you don't hear back from me for a while, don't worry - will be thinking of you all and posting when I can...

happy2bme 09-18-2012 11:16 AM

Oh and DH is off at his first appointment with the cardiologist so we'll see what he has to say about his condition. Depending on the outcome, maybe I might not be travelling after all.

Laura705 09-18-2012 11:23 AM

Morning Ladies. Brrr, chilly start today. Fall is definitely here.

Michelle - No, I think it'll definitely be worth the attorney fees to get him out of your life. You get to move on to a happy new life and he'll have to live with himself and what he's done.

Annie - Thanks so much for the articles you sent, espec. the one about improving the soil! Definitely need that in our yard! So many things to do inside and out - I think we were so burnt out after all the improvement projects we've done, we just stopped and became complacent, but we really will have to start a list again and WORK IT! I hope that this baby adjusts to having Sissy care for him and that it works out okay for her. That little Sassy is too cute. :) Coal sometimes would toss a toy in the air and I'd worry he'd hit the tv and break it! Good that either office you'd report to is acceptable, but they need to decide which one soon to keep things moving!

Ellen - Have fun feeding the ducks!

Mel - We did get some rain yesterday, started not 5 minutes after I got home. Good thing I took the earlier train home, LOL!! :rain: If you're achey, just relax today. Bf's mum is 79 yo and works 24 hours a week and we're trying to get her into some senior housing that's less $$ than her current over 55 apt. A spot at a nice building near us is becoming available, but the catch-22 is that her income is too high for much of a rent savings. If she cuts her hours, the rent would be less...might be worth it to move now because the time will certainly come sooner or later when she won't want to work, or won't be able to.

Shad - Nice that Miss Sunday will have the company of ds2 and his gf when you're off to your next assignment. How did you progress with your to-do list yesterday?

Ceejay - Good for you getting help cleaning while you're working this long stint. We need some deep cleaning, especially in our basement and garage. The office, however, is what has the most clutter. There's a document destruction event (a truck with on-the-spot shredding) on Saturday that I'd like to take a bunch of old paperwork to, but at the moment I only have a partial shopping bag filled. :( Maybe I just need to crank through some of those paper piles this week to make the trip worth it (this event is in a neighboring suburb). Hope you're getting the fall temps you've been wanting. :crossed:

Hellos to Happy, Patty & Mary!!
--
Eating was bad yesterday, and I also was a sloth when I got home from work and did not get out to the market for groceries. I did, however, finish my book and so it went back to the library on time.

Having lunch with a work buddy today. Skipping movie night. They chose that Batman movie, but it's a really long movie and I just don't care too much about seeing it, so I'll skip it.

My local jazzercise franchise is changing locations, and so they are moving out of the location I didn't like and hopefully to a more spacious space. However, the same snarky, arrogant instructor is teaching the classes that I'd be going to in the evenings and I just don't care for her, so my hopes went up briefly this morning and were then dashed.

That's about it for me. Everyone have a wonderful Tues/Wed.

:spin::spin::spin::spin::spin:

Here's a photo from the Dells duck tour - the cliffs are Potsdam sandstone, which I learned is only present in a few places in the world - one of which is the WI Dells.

annie175 09-18-2012 02:12 PM

HAPPY....keep us posted on DHs appointment and what is going on with him. Holy cow. That wasn't CindyMs blog, that was just a statement off of her blog. I thought it was a good one. You might just be practicing packing and unpacking for the moment. Yes I love Penzey's spices, cept I just go nuts in there, overwhelming.

LAURA...nice shot of the Dells. It is hard to get back into the swing of things even after a short vacation. Be easy on yourself, you are beautiful just the way you are. I am not into the Batman movies either. Can't sit still that long. Need to be moving, folding clothes or something.

CHELLE...I double what HAPPY and LAURA said. THIS IS ABOUT YOU!
LIke I texted you...BUCK UP BUCKO!!!

ceejay52 09-18-2012 02:56 PM

Afternoon
This week hasn't been to bad. I've told myself to take care of me and me only.

My friend in Jonesboro still hasn't responded to any of my text so I sent out one to another friend. I'll see if ther is a problem with my phone before I make to big of a judgement call. Even sent her a message in FB.

Chelle
Sending you all the good vibes and prayers you need.

Happy
Hope things go well at the cardiologist for your dh so you can go visit with your mom.

Laura
The picture at the Dells was good. That is on spot I would like to go to. If there were a Curves gym close by think I would go there. There's one in Paragould but I'm not driving two hours just to go to the gym.

Mel
Try to get some rest.

Hello's to the rest I'm a bit groggy today. Finally took a pain med, Meloxicam, for my lower back yesterday. I don't think I'll take those any more until the Tylenol quits working.

happy2bme 09-18-2012 04:54 PM

Ok... why shouldn't I be surprised that I'm kind of behind???? Not awful tho.

DH's appointment went well. Doctor said his heart is strong and valves are not blocked. Said they could do nothing more and he'd be fine but since the palpatations bother him, they can give him some medicine to keep the heart in rhythm. What a relief. He's going for a stress test while I'm away. 3 hours of test after an hour and a half drive each way. He had scheduled it for the day after he returned back and I said "are you NUTS!!!!" He went and changed it to next week. It's a big relief to know he is ok. Now to deal with Mom...

Anyway, love to the chicks. Keep the place running while I'm gone.
