Morning all,
Not much to report today. It's another lovely sunny day. Bit cool this morning, but it will warm up soon. Today I am going to put the weed mat down on my project and then get the stones and cement to fill it back up with again. I need to check out the pavers and get some more if necessary. The concrete bit is going to make me sweat and no doubt swear as well. But one more thing out of the way. Nearly done. Mel - no need to send sun. We have plenty. We'll take a bit of rain tho' but not as much as in 2010 okay?? Friday, your time it is. Now better set my alarm for Saturday morning. Laura - I always find it amazing that some of our supermarkets have empty shelves. I ask myself why this is when they employ people at night to restock shelves and they always seem to have big trollies of boxes in the aisles that I want to be in during the day. Ellen - yep I agree about putting more into the wedding than the marriage. Seems to me that they seem to think that everything builds to that one day. Don't they stop to think that there is another 50 years after that day? Happy - keys to the store!!! Access to the yoghurt machine, access to the popcorn machine. Sounds like hippy heaven. Poor DH. Funny how their minds focus on only the obvious. Annie - not here yet. Okay - hope the teeth have made their appearance now. DS1 always had terrible trouble with teeth. Maybe that's where he developed a taste for Scotch! Michelle - Where is the DMIL in all this? Listen to what he has to say but reserve judgement for when the facts are apparent. The separation while he is in CA may be good for both of you to step back and think about this. Better go and get on with the day. Miss Puss is waiting for me to go outside so she can supervise the days labours. Mind you she does this mostly with her eyes closed. |
Michelle - So sorry to hear that. :( Not sure what to say, except to hang in there and don't shut down the lines of communication.
This day has dragged. :dz: I'm definitely getting the earlier train today. |
Hi Shad! Hope you don't have too much sweating and swearing today. How large is the area you've been working on? You're right - why the heck are they always in the aisle with their big pallet of stock to shelve mid-day on a Saturday?? LOL re DS's affinity for Scotch began with teething!
|
Michelle - I will break camp and say beat some sense into his silly head :rollpin: In all seriousness, I'm very sorry to hear this. I agree with Shad about some time away to give yourself time to think things over. But I do think it's a pretty crappy way to spend a birthday :( If you want to talk in the evening, give me a call...
|
Luv and hugs to all this morning. Esp Michelle!!
|
Mornning chicks,
Work day for me today. Just breezing in to say hello. I want to leave a bit early today so no time for personals. Hope everyone is having a good day. Special  to you Michelle Catch you later kids... |
Michelle
Hugs, Sending you good vibes. Happy Sounds like you are "getting the hang" of the new job. Hello to all the rest Nothing new. |
Hey everyone -
thanks for all the love, support, hugs and good vibes. More talks....he's going to "think about" whether he is willing to make the changes I need him to make: 1. Stop all contact with HER (his ex-gf and long time friend of more than 25 years - who he had planned to have a romantic getaway with this weekend); 2. Honesty....complete, unwaivering honesty. No lies, no secrets, no half-truths. I would say based on the way he said he'd "think" about it....that his decision will not be affirmative. Only time will tell. In the meantime, I'm here. I'm not on a 72-hour psych hold (which was practically inevitable last night). And I'm going out to dinner tonight with my Zumba buddies, though I doubt i'll share with them all the gory details of my sham of a marriage. No plans for tomorrow, but I'm looking forward to spending time with Laura and Annie on Saturday and I promise I'll try and not be too depressing. :) Love and hugs to all, |
We actually got to shop today.
I am tired & achy all over & so is Jen. Neither one of us have good energy with these storms coming back to back. As soon as I went into TJs, I noticed the store needed a delivery on a LOT of things. So I didn't get as much as I wanted to. Jen either. I'll have to go to another store and finish the shopping. Right now I have to finish unpacking the dry goods. Then I need a rest and some sinus meds. The never ending story. I'll try to copme back later and read your posts. In the meantime....stay out of trouble!!! |
Morning all. Weekend getting closer, but why is this short week dragging for me?? Need to get busier!!
Nothing much to report. I got the earlier train home yesterday. Bf and I went out to eat (again - took advantage of the $5 sandwich special at a restaurant we like, but of course, add on a salad and beverages and it ends up being more than just $5, haha). After that we went to bf's mum's place to drop off a case of bottled water we bought for her the other night and to pick up a vacuum cleaner she wants to sell. She only used it a couple times before getting another one that's lighter weight and easier to push around. Bf will sell it on craigslist. Speaking of floor cleaning tools...we still have not purchased a steam mop or a carpet shampooing machine. Our area rugs need cleaning! Especially the one doggy likes to use as a post-meal napkin, LOL. Need to get busy on that, but I'm still trying to give the credit card a rest after the big vet and car repair bills! === Mel - Sorry the shopping trip wasn't as productive as you & Jen wanted. Hope you're feeling better after relaxing the rest of the day. How are your eyes doing?? Michelle - Sending more love, support, and hugs your way - what a very difficult, okay majorly sucky time for you. Glad you'll be out with friends tonight. Annie - How's it going?? to the rest of you. Have a great day! |
afternoon all,
Got 2.5sqm of crushed brick delivered today. I think I might have over estimated dimensions - ever hear about measure twice, cut once Shad? Think I might have some left over for the next part of the project. Anyway I have half filled the hole I dug and will finish that off tomorrow then it is a matter of fitting the pavers, tidying the whole thing up and putting the bins in place. One more day or maybe two, depending on how my muscles go tomorrow and it is finished. On with the next project. Michelle - I'm glad you are taking this weekend off to meet up with Annie and Laura. Just what you need to get your mind off the problems at home. Laura - my rugs need a bit of a clean as well. I might have to indulge in a cleaner as well. Happy - still working away. How many days a week is it now? Hi Ellen - rushing straight through again I see Mel - seems the stores are not restocking until all the old stuff is mostly gone. Maybe they have been 'blessed' with out of date stuff and have had to chuck stuff out. Looks like we might get some rain tonight. Wouldn't be before time, so I won't go out and put the hose on just yet. Maybe first think in the morning if it hasn't rained over night. It has that storm feeling about the afternoon. |
Sorry for absentism (sp). Have been working the Humana hospitality tent at the PGA BMW Golf tournament at Crooked Stick. Was about 50 feet from Tiger Woods. Boy is he full of himself. It may be Sunday before I get back here.
Note to Chelle....go with your gut feeling on everything...usually it is right. May not want it to be but......Hugs and loves and prayers for strength for you. Hello to all.. |
Good Morning Chicks! Busy day yesterday...took DD3 to story time at a local park. Ran to the store very quickly then back home. DS and DD1 had another Cross Country meet. I missed DD's race...bummer, but she did well. DS was not feeling well, but still ran a respectable race. he finally put on a great sprint at the end of the race. Back home and made sloppy joes for dinner.
Today the plan is to get thru as much laundry as possible...we are a little backed up. then work later. Hoping to sneak in a nap too if possible. LOL Have a great day ladies!! |
HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE.

THINK IT WAS $89 AND SO FAR IT WORKS GREAT. ** I liked that good morning pic too...kind of reminded me of something but I can't put my finger on it. :dunno: SHAD....GLAD TO HEAR THE PROJECT IS MOVING ALONG. THIS MUST BE GOOD CARDIO!!! LOL I NEED TO GO LOOK AT THE WEBSITE FOR TIMES.... I FORGET NOW HOW FAR AHEAD OF US YOU ARE. DUH!!! I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT THE DUE BY DATES AT THE STORE. LAST TIME I WENT, I NOTICED THEY WEREN'T THAT FAR AWAY SO I BOUGHT LESS. Hmmmmm ANNIE...WOW!! WHAT A GREAT JOB. I WOULD LOVE TO DO STUFF LIKE THAT. GET TO MEET ALL THE SNOTTY RICH PEOPLE! LOL HOPE YOU ARE HAVING A GOOD TIME ANYWAY!! |
Hi ladies,
It seems my 2 day a week part time job is turning into much more than that. At least for a while. I was supposed to work every other day this week to get used to opening and closing the store myself. Worked Tuesday and yesterday. I was supposed to learn how to make popcorn yesterday but there is alot going on with the owner right now and we didn't get to it yesterday. I said I'd come in today so we could focus on that. We are still getting customers on a regular basis so it's already hard to keep switching between answering the phone, ringing orders, bagging product, stocking shelves and filling extra orders besides learning to make product which is something I assume you can't really pause once you start. Next week it will be me and the new girl only so I need to work Saturday so we can figure out a rhythm together. All this standing is rough on the back and feet. I'm hoping I can hold up ok working successive days. I know she is depending on me so I feel obligated to help out. Things will slow down the end of next month for a little while, then the holiday mail orders will pick up and then maybe I can go to 2 days a week in January :faint: Right now my Mom is having her heart shock procedure to address her atrial fibulation. They shock the heart which hopefully sets it back into a normal rhythm. My heart is in my throat (both me and my Sis) that all goes well. Our big fear is a stroke for her. She also only has one good eye and that has a cataract which is pretty bad. She will need eye surgery too and she has macular degeneration. We are also in fear that something will happen which will blind her. She lost the sight in her eye a few years back - had a ruptured blood vessel that they could not stop bleeded other than to use a laser to cauterize it - the bright light with the macular blew the sight in that eye. So we worry about stroke and blindness which would shut her down. My Mom's a pretty fiesty lady - you can't help but love her but like her daughter she is fiercely independent ;) and wants to stay that way. So I am praying very hard that she will come through this procedure ok. Mel - hope you can get some quiet time from the circus in the building and get some rest. Don't let yourself go over the edge. Mel first, ok? Sorry Jen is healing so slowly too. Frustrating that you picked a shopping day when the shelves were bare. I hate that too. Annie - I would say have fun at the golf outing BUT for people like us they are often long hours of hard work. No surprise at all that Tiger has an ego as big as his sin list. Maybe he needs to be reminded that his glory days are long over  Ellen - sounds like you have some track stars in the making :D It's great that the kids are active - so many of them prefer to sit in front of a computer now a days. Hope you can sneak that nap in. Shad - sounds like the outside project is almost done. That was fast. Glad you are not procrastinators like us. Can't wait for pictures... Laura - I too have noticed those $5 dinners are not really bargains. Same thing with Subway's specials where you have to buy a drink we'd not typically buy. Ruby Tuesday's would have a 10 dollar dinner special - buy one, get one 10 dollar entree free. Except as I pointed out to the waitress there were NO entrees priced at $10 - all were above that. So they took 10 off your bill but paying for a drink and the overage, no real bargain there. Have a good weekend with the chicks. Michelle  So H (he does not deserve a D right now  ) is going to "think" about whether he wants to be faithful????? Perhaps you need to think about whether you want to continue to be with him. Please do not sell yourself short or allow yourself to be treated in a way that is any less than the love and respect that you deserve. I have male friends I've made along the years but there is no way there would EVER be any romance involved (especially with the gay ones). :^: I'm sorry you are having so much pain in your life right now. Between your health and the job I can only hope that things will get better for you - finally. Try to take this weekend to enjoy yourself with friends who care about you. I also think this is pretty selfish of H what with the situation with DMIL. Sorry... I am an opinionated person here. Anyway, wishing you love and comfort and peace in your heart and that you will follow the path that is best for you  Ceejay - sometimes nothing new is a good thing ;) Still hot down by you? Our temps have dropped into 60's during the day - will probably have to cover the garden tonight as it's going to get near freezing. Autumn is rolling through on this side of the border  Gotta go get me some breakfast and figure out something more than a sandwich for lunch. Take care people, the weekend is almost upon us... |
Hi ladies -
Another night of about 3 or 4 hours of sleep. Annie, I don't know how you do it. I appreciate all your support, advice and opinions. I learned at roughly midnight or so that he mentioned to a friend that he's thinking about divorce. It's truly breaking my heart. I spend all day at work choking back the tears, and then my entire commute sobbing - not exactly safe for driving. Speaking of driving....Laura, I know that you, Annie and I discussed that we would all rather my other friend not join us tomorrow....we'd rather it just be the three of us...but with my frequent freeway sobbing fits, I think it's a good idea for me to have a backup driver. I'm so sorry. And I mentioned to Annie that I would totally understand if either of you changed your mind because you didn't want to hang out with a crazy lady. Annie suggested that lunch and then talking/laughing, etc. (either at your house Laura or a park or wherever) rather than actually doing the touristy thing. I think this would be best. I'm so sorry for putting a damper on our fun get together and as I said, if you want to back out, I totally understand. The only good thing to come out of this is I've lost 4 lbs. I feel nauseous most of the time...until I get really strong hunger pains....then I eat a little and I'm full. I've got a meeting in about 10 minutes and then another meeting that will last all afternoon. After work, I think I'll just go to sleep early. Happy - Can I get back to you about the website over the weekend or next week, when I am sleeping better and can think clearly? Much love and many hugs, |
Morning
Happy It's supposed to cool down after this big cold front comes through tonight. Tomorrow's high is supposed to be 78, my kind of weather. Sounds like you are already learning lots of knew things. Michelle, Annie and Laura Have fun this week end. Michelle have a safe trip. Mel I've noticed that our Walmart shelves need to be restocked. But they are supposed to be moving to their new super walmart building in October or November. Ellen You deserve a nap after all those activities. Annie Wow working the booth that close to come of the golfers. I used to like Tiger Woods until his sins found him out. He's still an excellent golf pro. ------------ Rant ahead proceed with caution!!!!!!!! I don't know why I let myself get roped into certain situations. My friend in Jonesboro texted me yesterday wanting me come baby sit her after her back pain management treatment. I was tired and didn't want to go plus my back had been bothering me this week also. I finally got up the courage to tell her no. She's trying to get me to move over there to take care of her. She ran off the one friend that was going to do that. NO thank you--there's too many past and hurt feelings for me to do that, due to her divorce. Yes, I've forgiven her but I've not forgotten what she's done. I'm surprised that I've finally allowed myself to be her friend again. I've told myself that after I had the trip to ER that I would not and will not push myself. I have health problems also. It will depend on the weather tonight and tomorrow as if I get to go to Paragould. I don't really want to. But I need to get my hair cut. |
Morning all. TGIF!!!
Michelle - I'm so sad & po'd that you're going through all this. What a terrrible thing loss of trust is, and the whole way it's come to light...yeh, there is definitely no "d" before the "h", and I can think of a few choice names I'd like to apply but I will hold back... I definitely don't want to cancel tomorrow - you need to get away and I hope we can hang and laugh and have fun. I do have a possible favor to ask of you and/or Annie - since we will be staying local, is it possible to use either of your cars to get around? Turns out a really big car show is this weekend and bf wants to go and the one person he knows that's going (three others can't make it) wants to get there a few hours before the show even starts to "gladhand" (don't ask, lol) and bf doesn't want to do that. I feel like a heel since you're both driving hours and I'm not, so I hate to ask... so I might just make bf cope without the car. Let him be inconvenienced for a change! No problem re your friend coming along, I feel better that you have someone who can drive if need be. Happy - Wow, trial by fire, huh? There really must be something going on with the owner to hire someone one week and foist all that responsibility onto them the next...I know you and your co-worker will handle it, but you'll sure be tired. Things will slow down by the end of next month??!! :yikes: So much for retirement -but the extra money sure will be nice. Said a prayer for your mum that the procedure is a success & was without complications. Re the dining deals that really aren't - what I'd really like to do is get into the habit of eating at home a lot more than we do now and make dinner out a special thing where we choose a special restaurant maybe once or twice a month, not just go out to some unspecial place near home by default because we didn't plan our meals. Mel - I hope you start feeling more like yourself again. I do hate the very humid weather (or as bf says, it's not just the humidity, it's the dewpoint, lol). Yes, no hospital for Mel!!!! Wish I could blame bf on the missing papers, but unfortunately, it's all me on this one. Re the carpet cleaner, yeh, I wonder if we could get by with a less expensive unit because we only have area rugs and runners and even with the dog, they don't get completely trashed or anything... Ellen - Busy as ever, I see. Nice that you're kids are into the running - that's a good exercise activity they can do for themselves for the rest of their life if they choose. Well, I hope you get that nap in - I got tired just read about your day, haha. The book I'm reading is about a woman who loses 10 years of her memory from a head injury and so she's amazed how busy her days are taking care of her three kids, LOL. Annie - Enjoy working the golf event - nice change of pace for you. Hope the weather is good. See you tomorrow!!! Shad - Near the finish line now. The bf and I need to take a page from your book - we've gotten very complacent in regards to home improvement projects the past several years. Hi Ceejay - How's the weekend going so far?? === Spent more time in the office last night looking at my papers and putting together a puzzle. Still not there yet. Cursing the missing info. I'll have to dig some more. Dinner was apricot glazed pork roast - a very simple slow cooker recipe I pulled from my former boss's wife's cookbook. All the pages I photocopied from that book and not one gives me a clue as to the cookbook title. Anyway, it was delicious. We didn't tie off the pork roast so it came apart and it was more like pulled pork. We ate it over rice - yum. Another slow cooker recipe I want to try is a vegetable curry - bf and I lke curry a lot. Probably would add meat for bf. Re the steam mops - did some research and I've learned it's not recommended for laminate or hardwood floors, so I'll skip it and stick with what we currently use - one of those cotton mops with the built in thingie that squeezes out the water, or our floormate, or our swiffer with a wet rag attached instead of the dusting cloth. As for carpet cleaning machines - jeez they can be expensive! But you'd eventually recover the cost of what you might spend on professional carpet cleaning companies or rental machines...especially if you can use the machine to clean upholstery. Okay, enough rambling and interruptions. Back to work. Have a great day everyone. :flow1: |
Ceejay - good for you standing up for yourself!! Your health comes first!!
|
shad....we have a meeting at 3:45.
it's an emergency meeting for the new building. something is amiss. i know the politicians are attending. this is what happens when you try to build over blue rock!!! so not sure how long it will take. if it's long, i will try and call you later to see if you're in. |
SHAD....I THINK THE MEETING MIGHT BE CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST:rofl:
|
Laura - I'll be driving an SUV, so I'd be happy for us to take my car. As long as you can give directions. :)
|
I Called 2 X's So Far.
One Wouldn't Go Thru At All And The Next One Just Kept Ringing?? I'll Try Again In A Few Mionutes |
Michelle...my Heart Is Just Broken For You And All You're Going Thru. I Just Hope It Helps To Know We're All Here For You If You Need Us. ((((((hugs))))))
|
Michelle, I think we've worked it out, so it might not be necessary. Thanks!!
|
Arghhhh. I'm so tired. Working more days than I planned. Worked yesterday, worked today and working tomorrow. Working alot next week too. Hopefully after that I can cut back to real part time. Too tired for personals and I have to leave early tomorrow to get in and bag some product as we had a very busy day today. So I might not post until Sunday.
Sending good thoughts to all who need it. Laura, Annie and Michelle - I hope you have a wonderful time together. I will be there in spirit. And Michelle sending you some strength and love and support. The cattle prod brigade is ready to defend your honor if needed :rollpin: :rollpin: :rollpin: Just say the word honey ;) Don't worry about the website. I didn't say anything yet due to the recent stuff in your life. We can catch up soon enough. Goodnight Irene and all the find ladies of the World. |
Mel - I LOVE your new avatars. Leaves are changing fast here. Even faster I assume as we hit a dip in the temperatures. Supposed to be near freezing tonight but I was too tired to tarp the garden. If that's the end of the produce, so be it. Hope not but we'll see.
|
Laura, I'll still be bringing the SUV, so if you want me to drive us locally, its no problem. Now to try and get a few more hours of sleep. Maybe I should get the zzzzquil.

I WAS THINKING OF LAURA, ANNIE & MICHELLE WHEN I WOKE. SAFE TRAVELS FRIENDS AND LOTS OF HUGS AND GOOD TIMES. GOOD MORNING CHICKS SHAD & I HAVE FIXED ALL THE WRONGS IN THE WORLD, LAUGHED TILL I CRIED & GOT RID OF ANGST. I AM PREPARED TO FACE THE REST OF THE YEAR:rofl:  THE MEETING WASN'T UNTIL AFTER 6. I WAS LATE BUT SO WERE 2 OTHER PEOPLE AFTER ME. THEN I WATCHED TV & WENT TO BED. QUIET NIGHT. HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND. SHAD....ALWAYS GOOD TO HEAR THAT VOICE ON THE OTHER END OF THE LINE. I WAS CHUCKLING RIGHT THRU THE MEETING. :D NO ONE ELSE WAS IN THAT GOOD OF A MOOD....JUST ME. WHILE DOING PROJECTS, MAYBE YOU BETTER THINK OF A SMALL RAMP. JUST IN CASE I DO CHUCK IT ALL AND RUN AWAY FROM HOME :scooter: HAPPY....SENDING A PRAYER OUT TO YOUR MOM YESTERDAY & TODAY. HOPE EVERYTHING GOES WELL FOR HER  I CAN IMAGINE WHAT YOU ARE FEELING SO FAR AWAY. PLEASE KEEP US POSTED ABOUT THIS & THE EYES TO COME. HOPE TOO THAT THE JOB GOES SMOOTHLY. FUNNY HAVING YOU OFF AND WORKING AGAIN!!. IF I WAS HELPING YOU PACKING IT WOULD BE ONE HANDFUL FOR ME & ONE FOR THE BAG:lol3: WE WOULD GET NOWHERE FAST.....AND CHATTING.:cofdate: AFTER READING YOUR POST, I WAS THINKING OF YOU & AUTUMN. SO WHILE I KEPT TRYING TO CALL SHAD, I DECIDED TO PASS THE TIME CHANGING INTO AUTUMN "CLOTHES". :cb: CEEJAY....I AM SO PROUD OF YOU. YOU'VE DONE A GREAT JOB OF STICKING UP FOR YOURSELF! I AM LIKE YOU...FORGIVING IS ONE THING BUT FORGETTING IS ANOTHER. YOU MOTIVATE ME ALL THE MORE TO SAY "NO" MORE OFTEN!! GOOD FOR YOU. HOPE YOU FEEL OK TO GET THE HAIR CUT. IT'S TIME YOU TOOK GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF TOO. LAURA....NOT ONLY EVERYTHING YOU SAID WAS RIGHT TO JUSTIFY THE COST OF CARPETING AND ADD TO THAT THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHERE RENTALS HAVE BEEN AND BEDBUGS & VIRUSES ARE SWEEPING ACROSS THE NATION. THAT ALONE CAUSED ME TO BUY MINE. THE HOUSING BOUGHT ONE THAT CLEANS SMALLER AREAS AND NOT UPHOSTERY. NOW THEY'RE SORRY THEY DIDN'T GET A BETTER MODEL. MINE HAS NO HOSE. JUST A CHEAP UPRIGHT. ALSO....HAVE YOU TRIED GOOGLING THE NAME ON THE PHOTOICOPY OF THE DISH? YOU MIGHT JUST RECOGNIZE ONE OF THE GOOGLE ANSWERS AND FIND THE BOOK. DID I SAY THIS RIGHT?? hope you got the drift. roflmao |
Good morning ladies,
I still don't know what's the date or even the day of the week without looking at my computer. Guess I have to get a new battery for my watch that has the date on it. :dizzy: My Mom (God love her) zipped through her medical procedure yesterday and is doing fine. I talked to her last night. She was a bit cranked up because the nurses told her she could go home afterwards but my sister had to remind her (a lot) that the doctor wanted her to stay overnight for observation due to her advanced age. She is in a private room, only issue is that they have a shared bathroom amongst a couple of rooms but the hospital is wonderful and the staff very very attentive. She will get released today and spend a few days with my sister. Her heart got shocked back into rhythm, blood pressure is down and she appears to be doing well. Hope it stays that way :crossed: Thanks to all who sent up some prayers for her. I am working today. So tired I went to bed at 10 last night and slept until 6 this morning. Tried to get a bit more sleep in but I guess I had enough so got up, turned the heat on in the house and made some coffee. Just me and the owner today and since yesterday was a very busy day with people leaving town and stocking up on their popcorn, I want to get in a bit early and bag some product just so I don't get caught short and scrambling. I work 5 days next week so that's going to be just as frantic as this week. I'm getting used to it - both my mind and body but I still come home wiped out and not good for much other than eating, sitting in the recliner and then going to bed. This is why I don't want to work more than 3 days a week. Not getting anything done around here. I should be getting to the 3 day schedule soon. :crossed: Laura, Michelle and Annie - safe travels today and I hope you have a wonderful day together. :grouphug: Mel - I like your Autumn "threads" Glad that Shad put some sunshine in your day and that quiet, wry smile one gets when they are feeling good. I can just imagine the conversations that go on. I'd probably laugh myself into coughing fits. You'd be surprised how quickly you get immune to the popcorn. I taste a kernel here and there but it doesn't really tempt me much. I did buy 2 bags for home and have a handful for a snack occasionally. Everyone in the family thinks they are getting popcorn for Christmas gifts  Hey, with all those power tools Shad has, she can probably build you a mighty fine ramp herself. And if she's missing something, we already know you don't have to ask twice to get her to the home improvement store :yay: Michelle - my heart goes out to you. I know the feeling. There have been times in our relationship where we were not getting along at all so I know the heavy heart you must feel. I hope he comes to his senses. Besides a loving wife, you also have the better job and the better insurance. And this would be very disruptive to the plans made with his mother. He would be throwing something very precious away. :( Don't sell yourself short to compromise. Sometimes it's a bump in the road you both need to work out, sometimes you've just become 2 different people that it will never be the same. I pray that you find some peace and the best thing for you. And the ZzzzzQuil does work very well for those restless nights. If not, drive up and I'll put you to work for 8 hours in the shop - that will tucker you for sure ;) Laura - yes, the steam mop is not good for wood floors. The other thing about it is that since it's just water - you don't get the soap scent / fresh smell of clean that you do with traditional mop and water cleaning. We have a big Bissell upright style carpet cleaner. It's kind of awkward on throw rugs - most of mine I wash and I don't have any runners. I did almost ruin a wool area rug trying to clean that. It was never quite the same afterwards :( I would advise to get the best you can afford and not cheap out on the cleaner as it will only cheap out on the quality of cleaning. Some things are like that. :^: The pork roast sounded delicious. I have some peach jam that I might try that with. Too bad you don't have a hint on the cookbook. There's only about 2,000 slow cooker books  And I have heard of the apricot jam / pork recipe before so I can't even venture a hint. "Gladhand" :?: yep, I don't think I want to know but we can certainly offer some creative suggestions :lol3: Ceejay - new SuperWalmart - how exciting! As for your "friend" - glad you recognized ahead of time and decided not to get suckered into being a servant for this woman. I know how hard it is to say no to those people sometimes and then you drive away kicking yourself for being so gullible. I need to hop in the shower if I'm going to get out of here early. Hellos to Annie and Ellen and Patty and Java. Enjoy your weekend chicks. |
This will be a quick one. I've decided to go to Pargould after my uncle called last night. Need to get ready for that.
We got some more rain last night. Some very huge thunderstorms. Lightening was to close for comfort. Happy I thought about you last night. You would have loved this one. Thought I be sore this morning but guess my body was more in shape than I thought. Mel Good to hear that you and Shad solved all the problems. May you and she could run for president and vice president. lol Happy I know the feeling about the mind and body being tired. Annie, Michelle and Laura have a good week end. pictures please. |
THE WEATHER HERE IS LOOKING OMINOUS FOR TONITE AND TOMORROW.

Morning all,
and an early morning it is too. 5.15am on a Sunday. But when sleep is not coming back again, then I guess it is time to get up and get cracking. Hence the early morning post. The bin project is mostly done, just need to tidy up, hose down the dust, get some decorative pebbles to scatter around and put the bins back. The pebbles won't come until I have done the other side of the driveway and started on that garden that DS2 built the block wall for all that time ago. But my next project will be to put a roof on the pergola at the back of the house. It will help to keep the sun out of the house during the big heat of summer and hopefully the house will then remain cooler. however plans may change because I think DS2 has the big ladder and the big drill around at the other place. There is plenty of other projects to be going on with. A ramp is not one of them. Why would I need one for Mel when the house is flat on the deck on a concrete pad. My biggest problem would be widening the front door. Else she may have to come in around the back and through my bedroom. Laura, Annie, Michelle - hope the meeting is going along fine and you haven't come to blows or been banished from the coffee shop for making so much noise or being drunk and disorderly. Have a great time Ceejay - Don't think I could be Pres or Vice Pres over there. Not being born in the country appears to be a good enough reason over there. Damned if I know what we would do with that rule over here or in New Zealand, since there are so many people in Parliament who have Aust or NZ citizenship but were not born here or there. Mel - as before, no ramp needed, just bring yourself, bumper bars and an ejection seat to get you over the gate in case I am not here when you arrive. Happy - Good to know you are somewhat enjoying the job. It will certainly get you out of the house and away from those boxes. Still as always there is the catch up to do when you get home. So pleased to hear good news for your Mum. She may yet outlive us. Hope it improves her quality of life greatly and you need to work on getting her into a smaller place -easier to maintain and secure than her present place. Good luck with that. I've been trying to remember how my cousin got her mother to move from the draughtly old barn of a place to a relatively new town unit - boy now there was stubborn personified. If I figure it out, I will let you know. Hellos to Ellen, Turtle and Patty. Ellen is probably running for her life and kids as usual and the turtle withdrawn to her shell, but where is Patty? Okay, dawn is breaking over here. Need to get on with the day. DS2 has run into the dreaded asbestos in his reno of the rental house. He and g/f are dolled up like white ghosts with facemasks and on the way out again. He's come to borrow my old hose and my old vaccuum cleaner - neither of which I will get back since they may be carrying dust. He is armed with a huge stack of thick black plastic bags and tape to seal them, she is armed with the hose attachments and the hose for spraying him and the asbestos bits down. All we need now is Mike Holmes to do an inspection. Bring him on. I have run out of coffee bags and need to buy another tarp for the remaining gravel so I had better go and get on with my day. Part way through a purge in my wardrobe. I can do some more of that before the shops open. The cat appears to be considering a move to the other bedroom since she might get tossed with the clothes in mine. I'm coming back as a spoilt madam cat in my next life. |
And Mel sneaked in on me. I might have known she was there.

Good Afternoon ladies! I am here, just worked last night and today. I took advantage of the fact that I am closing today. DH and I slept in…Both have had headaches today, but mine is sinus related. With the cooler weather, I finally turned the air off and opened the windows but it does a doosey on my allergies. Nothing else new is going on, working tomorrow and Monday, then Tuesday is super busy. I have a playdate for DD3, a cross country meet, then curriculum night for DD1. Not sure what I will be doing for dinner, something fast and easy….maybe breakfast for dinner.
Michelle, Annie, Laura~hope you all are having a blast! Wish I could have joined you, but with closing tonight and opening tomorrow a drive up to MP is a little too far! Michelle~many hugs to you! I am so sorry about everything you are going thru, but I agree with the others and sometimes you need to go with your gut. Shad~I don’t know how you are doing all your projects. I keep thinking about everything I need to get done and the pain I get in my back…Whew, but then I also have a 3 yo that makes all my projects twice as long because she “helps” Melody~Glad you and Shad have “put the world to rights” A good friend on the other end of the line can change your entire outlook. Happy~ don’t work too hard! Prayers for your Mom and her treatment. Cee jay~be safe on your trip! And good for you for standing up for yourself!! Ok, guess I should get back to work. Luv and Hugs ladies!! |
