I had such a great time with Laura and Annie! Thank you, Laura, for being such a great hostess! Your home is almost as beautiful as you are! Annie, it means so very much to me that you were willing to drive so far just to help me celebrate my birthday. I love you both!

Shad - A big well done to you on completing such a great project! It looks fabulous! :bravo:

Now that I am officially a year older, I'd better go get some rest.

Much love and many hugs to all,

A very happy birthday to you Michelle. I second that comment that you have lots of leftover goodness in you today from yesterday's Worldlie Powwow. What a great picture of the 3 of you. Wish I could have been there. Now that you've hit your fabulous decade (and it will be fabulous) I hope that the rest of the year will be full of good things for you. It is a weekend isn't it? So make some fun for yourself today.

Mel - was most surprised to see that there were not one but 2 tornadoes up your way :yikes: Did you do the duck and cover???? Loved the penguin birthday pic.

Shad - VERY nice job on the new bin storage facility. I think the stones look so much nicer than grass or just pavers. I think you and DH would make fast work of clearing out the back lot here - bring gloves and work clothes when you come  Isn't it funny how there is always more stones / dirt / sand than you thought you needed, even after careful measurement. I am fascinated by the orchid baskets hanging from your tree. I'm used to seeing bird feeders instead. Are you taking a rest today after your hard work?

No rest for Ellen. Good heavens woman, you sure are one busy lady and I suppose as the kids grow, you have even more directions to head off in. Thank you for your prayers.

Annie - thanks for posting the picture. Was great to see all of you. I just bet you had the most wonderful time. Too bad you had such a long drive, otherwise you could have spend all day and evening I'm sure. Had I still been living down the road from Laura, we could have turned it into a pajama party

Ceejay - you know, I do sort of miss those thunderstorms down south. I always said that it sure does know how to rain good down there - never seen it rain so hard in my life as it does in Memphis. Are you still getting the heat?

Laura - when I saw your picture I was thinking you bear a striking resemblance to the girl who was John Travolta's dance partner in Saturday Night Fever (which I just watched again a few weeks ago). Glad you had a good time together, it's nice to put faces to everyone. I think up to this point I've only seen your hair

Worked from 9:30 to 6 yesterday. The owner didn't think we'd be that busy but she was wrong. We were just about as busy as the first day I started, the day before Labor Day when everyone was crusing town. I sat down for 10 minute while I sat in my car and scarfed down a couple of bites of lunch. Came home completely wiped out. Told them that's why I only want to work 3 days a week. It's just so physically tiring that you don't get anything else done. I am working 5 days this coming week also but after that it should ease up a bit. We are doing way better in sales this year than last year at this time. I said that's because word got out about the fabulously entertaining new sales clerk who is chatting up the customers ;) Actually I love talking with the people. Most of the folks are very very nice and it's good to get some socializing going on.

I am off today and I have to go out and see how my garden is doing. Probably time to shut it down. We hit temps in the mid 30's the last few nights. Decided not to tarp the plants because as DH says, no one else is tarping them and it means going out every night and covering them and then opening them up each morning because it gets pretty hot in there once the sun hits it. Also there's alot of dew overnight so it's pretty wet and messy. I will see how things are going and we might take out some plants. The grape tomatoes are doing fine, if I have enough ripening tomatoes I might make another batch of sauce to freeze. I think the cucumbers are about done for the season but the bell peppers seem to favor the cooler weather. The trees are starting to turn yellow, we should be getting some color in the next week or two as the local towns schedule their fall festivals. The good thing about working all these hours is I have a big paycheck to spend  But the crown that broke on my tooth last fall (which I haven't done anything with :o ) appears to be crumbling now so I'd better check out the insurance and a dentist.

Hope you all have a nice Sunday.

Luv and Hugs!!

diyana 09-09-2012 03:34 PM

Hi ladies -

My friend Jane and I went to the beach for a couple hours. It was a little cool and breezy, but I got a nice nap in to make up for another night of very little sleep. I'm home now, and doing laundry before I settle in to watch the Packer game.

I had such a nice time yesterday! And this has been a better birthday weekend than I thought it would be....all things considered.

I miss my hubby a lot...and wish I could just talk to him to know where things stand.

Sorry....I don't mean to be a downer. I love you all so much, and am so very grateful for your love and support, and birthday wishes.

Hugs,

happy2bme 09-09-2012 10:57 PM

Yummmmm... pizza :jeno::jeno::jeno::jeno: The most decent pizza place up here closed down a while ago. :(

Had a nice day off. We went into town because DH wanted to get an Italian Beef from the hot dog place across from where I work. I stopped in at the shop and wouldn't you know it, was dead as could be. Why do I get to work the busy days???? Good news is that the frozen yogurt machine is shut down for the season. I will miss the lemon tart tho but will not miss cleaning it. I swear it messes itself up. We stopped up at my cousin's - haven't seen them for about 2 weeks and had a nice visit. Then we went over to the casino. DH made a few bucks, I spent more than I should but still stayed within budget. Funny now that I work so hard for a much smaller paycheck I look at everything with "I have to work x number of hours to pay for this... do I really want it?" I'm still looking for a decent hair salon. Was going to try the Aveda salon in town but they are probably the priciest one in town tho I think I'll get a better hair cut. Might give them one try tho.

I guess Mom is driving my sister crazy (she is recouperating at her house). Came home to a phone message that she is packing her up and driving up to my house tomorrow  Ha ha - joke's on her since I'll be working and not home :lol3: Just kidding. I feel for them both. We'll see if Mom want to come up in a few weeks for a visit. If she waits too much longer she might as well spend Christmas with us ;) Maybe I could convince hubby to get that 12 foot real tree that would fit just nicely with our open ceiling. Heaven knows I have enough decorations for it. Oh wait - sorry Shad, not supposed to be talking about those things quite yet :o

Michelle - glad you had a good birthday weekend for the most part. Sorry hubby did not call (or maybe he did after you posted) - in any event, probably better to have some time to think as sometimes we get all wired up over something and calm down after a few days - best to have your conversations face to face as difficult as that can be sometimes. Also sorry your beloved Packers lost today (at least I think they did - not paying attention to the game or the update DH whispered to me :sssh: ) I hope you get some rest tonight so you can be fresh for work tomorrow morning. When is everyone supposed to arrive back from California?

Hi Ellen

Annie - Sassy is soooooooooooooooo cute. She she's part weenie too? It shows in her face - she has more of a dachhound ???? than chihuahua face - geez woman why did you get a mix of the hardest breeds to spell - whatzamadder with lab, boxer, shepard, Hines 57  Anyway love your FB pics. So cute. You have alot of cuteness in your life this year

Mel - I hope those seniors behaved themselves. I have no answers for how to entice them to use the air conditioning as they are faster with excuses (too expensive, don't like the wind blowing on them, it makes noise, yadda yadda). My sister kept telling my Mom she did not want to read in paper about her being found passed out on the floor in a stiffling house. My mom's big on box fans and breezes.

It it so hard to believe that some of you are suffering from the stifling heat. I am sitting here with flannel pjs (tho they are capris) and a robe on. Seems like summer was long ago although I think Wednesday we are supposed to have a last burst of heat. I went into the garden this morning and picked 6 cucumbers, 4 green bell peppers, a whole bowl of grape tomatoes and a bunch of jalapenos and another big bowl of regular tomatoes. I guess I'll make a tomato avocado salsa with the grape tomatoes and another batch of sauce with the regular tomatoes. I really don't like the beefeater ones I got. They are huge and seem to be misshapen. Oh and I am thrilled to see that my arugula (rocket) reseeded itself and I have all these tiny plants coming up. That should do well in the cool weather and we'll be having tasty rocket again. DH likes it with a simple lemon viniagrette.

Anyway I am yawning away so I'd better get to bed. Will at least sleep good with the cold weather and pillows. Night all...

Shad 09-10-2012 07:05 AM

Don't believe this. I forgot to post this morning. I did start but obviously forgot to finish. There you go. I must be getting old.

Time being what it is now, I'll post proper in the morning.

Good morning Chikies! Nothing much going on today. I may have to drive my mom to the car shop. But I am hoping they took my advice and drove it over yesterday. Need to work on a little laundry, and balance the checkbook, then work tonight. Need lots of sales, with my time off and the holiday this is going to be a very small check! Nothing I can do about it now…will just have to manage.

Ok need to get these kids off…I keep getting the “teenager Huff” from my son, ll I did was tell him to make his bed and keep his door open. LOL I don’t know what I am going too do…pretty soon I will have 3 teenagers!!:yikes:

ceejay52 09-10-2012 09:06 AM

Morning,

Happy
Think we're getting some of your cool air this morning. A nice 55 degree's. I'm loving it. The store may have been only while you were there.

----
Came to work this morning and some of the furniture was rearranged. Guess the boss is in his rearranging mood again.
Had a nice visit with a couple of cousins this week end. Checked in on a friend who had colon surgery to remove cancer.
More later.

happy2bme 09-10-2012 09:15 AM

Morning ladies,

Got a quick call from Sis - Mom's back in the hospital again. Wheezing and breathing difficulty. Could be congestive heart failure (hope not), it's also exactly the side effects of the new med they gave her to keep her heart back in rhythm. Sis is mad because Mom was feeling wheezy and short of breath ever since she came home (last FRIDAY) and didn't say anything about it until S woke up at 3am and decided to check on Mom who was up all night stressing out. Wasn't until S asked her what was wrong that she said she thought she should go back to the hospital. OMG. Some prayers would be appreciated. My Dad went through congestive heart failure. It is awful. There's no way she can stay by herself if that's the case. But we will see...

Anyway I can't do personals. Gotta work today and I'm already running late. They depend on me to open up the store now so I can't be late.

Will talk later.

diyana 09-10-2012 09:15 AM

Happy - I'm saying prayers and healing wishes for your Mom.

And sending much love and appreciation to all you wonderful chicks.

I don't feel much like talking/typing. Nothing's new here. Haven't heard from him since a text on Thursday night. His mom has been freaking out trying to reach him. Selfish b*stard hasn't even called her. His sister is keeping DMIL and her stuff in California for the foreseeable future until he and I work things out and our situation is more stable one way or another. She told me to cancel the moving truck, because if we didn't cancel it 24 hours in advance, we're liable for the entire $1,600 fee.

Both DMIL and DSIL believe that I'm blowing this way out of proportion. How can people fall in love via email? How can they fall in love when they live over 2000 miles apart? blah blah blah. It's my inattention and now mistrust that's driving us apart.

Anyway, since he's not driving back, he'll probably stay in CA for the rest of this week. I have no idea when he'll be coming back. If he were a good guy, he'd come back mid-week so we could talk about things....but knowing how much he hates conflict and will do anything including lie to avoid it, I expect he may not get back until Sunday night. I do know that if he doesn't go back to work a week from today, he'll lose his job. Or maybe he's making plans to move back to CA.....I just don't know.

I'm sorry to be a downer. I hate bringing everyone down; you all have your own stuff you're going through. Perhaps I should just stay offline for awhile.

Much love and many hugs,

Laura705 09-10-2012 11:23 AM

Morning all. Lovely sunny cool day today and I'm here at work. Boo.

Mel - Sorry your weekend was so frantic with the dehydrated seniors being taken to the hospital. How horrible. If they weren't already sick I imagine you'd just want to shake them and scream at them to drink water and use their bloody AC for Pete's sake!

Shad - Congrats on completing your project. That's a nice improvement. What a pile of rock you had there - and you still have some left. Will you have to move it elsewhere until you find a use for it??

Michelle - Huh, rather irresponsible behavior on your hub's part, and then to have insult on top of injury with your in-laws' opinions re this situation. Might be time to build up a good strong rage. No, that wouldn't be productive right now. Better this - hope you've gotten enough rest & are ready to go back to work. Hopefully you can focus and benefit from the distraction of it. It must be so hard to be in this limbo right now, but you can get through this, I know you can!! Don't stay offline if you don't want to - we're here for you! :grouphug:

Happy - Glad your mother's procedure went well and without complication, but I'm sorry to hear that her new med has been causing her problems (sure hope it's not congestive heart failure!). I will send some good thoughts that this gets straightened out quickly. Glad you had a pleasant Sunday, hope your workweek is a calm one. :)

Ceejay - Glad you're enjoying some cooler weather down south. My mum is also enjoying it, and today she's going to the Japanese garden in Springfield.

Ellen - Sounds like a nice calm day - once you get the kids off to school, that is. :D Oh, teenagers - that's scary!

Hellos to Annie, Patty & Mary.
===
Nothing much to report. Had a lazy day yesterday. Went to return bf's mum's car to her and on the way back, we stopped at a church festival because we saw a petting zoo - little goats, a llama (alpaca??), a bull (!), a porcupine (not part of the petting, he was in a pen by himself). Then there were some classic cars there too, so of course we had to check those out (I'd have thought bf had enough of that the day before, but no).

Rest of the day was uneventful. I did a load of laundry in the evening and of course forgot to hang it to dry. I'll probably have to run it through another rinse cycle to get the wrinkles out...

I found the papers I'd been looking for - all in a labeled file folder in the office, but way at the back of a box of files, so I missed the first two times I went through them. Third time's a charm! ;) I'm relieved about that and hopefully it has the info I need.

That's about it for me, so I'll post and get on with the day. I think this is the last day the boss is in the office for the week, or it might be that she'll be in tomorrow but occupied with a visitor all day, and then on Wed she'll be out for the rest of the week and part of next. Anyway, today might be a flurry of hurrying to finish up outstandings...we'll see.

TTFN!
:spin::spin::spin::spin::spin::spin::spin::spin:

diyana 09-10-2012 12:14 PM

Laura - So cool about the petting zoo. I love those! And I've pet porcupines...they're actually pretty soft as long as you pet with the grain and not against it. I had a funny thought about the porcupine....not sure I'd need to see one because I've got a big enough prick in my life right now.  My feelings toward him range from rage and disgust and betrayal to love, and remorse at what I've done/didn't do to contribute to the situation, etc. This limbo sucks.

annie175 09-10-2012 02:08 PM

GOod Morning All...

Took me all day to get in here. I tell you this work internet is awful. So stinkin' slow it times everything out. Anyway...

Didn't do much yesterday. Curtis had to go to one of his Walmarts and pull up bread. (Put it out from the back). So I did a bit of grocery shopping. Only spent 52 bucks on stuff I THOUGHT I needed at the time. lol. Lazed around all afternoon with C and Sas watching football games. Altho C and S slept through most of the boring Colts game.

Sassy did miss me a bunch and just loved and loved on me Saturday night. She will probably be mad as this is the first full day she has had to stay home by herself. I hate it and it breaks my heart. Might try to work something out with sissy for day time care for her.

LAURA...congrats on da bears win over the Colts. Bears are my second favorite as is the Broncos (Peyton), and Green Bay. Thanks again for the lovely Saturday.

CHELLE...you are not bringing me down at all. I just feel for you tho as I have lived through infidelity and stayed and additional 8 years because of the kids and false hopes and promises from the idiot. I finally decided to live for me and pick myself up and go, so I went, and now look life is so much better. Do what YOU need to do, just don't waste precious time on his selfish ways. THe answer is right in front of you. No contact pretty much says a lot. No matter what you did or didn't do does not warrent his actions. hugs xoxo

HAPPY...OMGoodness...prayers for your momma and family. Healing prayers! Not supposed to go into work when you are not scheduled to go into work. You are as bad as I am when I worked at CVS. Silly Sister.

CEEG...don't close your eyes when you walk through the rearranged office, you might trip yourself up and get hurt.

MELLIE...sounds like the seniors just get bored and act out. Maybe they need the rolling pin action on their heads.

ELLEN...I love how you say nothing new or going on..then go into this paragraph of this and that about kids, work, mom, DH...etc. What a hoot!

SHAD...all the yard work you are doing it is no wonder you cannot remember to post and ready to hit the hay...hope you slept well.

That is about it for me! Hello to all. Have a great day/night.

Loves and HUgs

ceejay52 09-10-2012 05:37 PM

Laura
I like petting zoo's. glad the porcupine was in a cage by itself.

Michelle
Hugs.

Annie
Sassy is so adorable.

Happy
Sending you mom good vibes.

Shad
I like what you've done in the yard. Do you have any more projects line up.

Mel and Ellen

I have had a busy morning. I'm tired and want to go home.

Shad 09-10-2012 06:24 PM

Morning all,
Slept in this morning. Actually I woke up at the normal time - bladder time - and then went back to bed and to sleep. So I am running behind the 8 ball today although I haven't got a great list lined up yet. Might just run the duster and sweeper around the house and get on with the wardrobe until the sun goes off the vege garden and then I can get on with getting that fertilised and new area ready to get the poor little seedling plants bedded in.

Michelle - no need to disappear off the thread. You need outlets to rant and rave at this time. Personally I think I would hold onto my anger, change the locks and get on with living my life and making the best of it for me. Doesn't appear that any of his family are going to make it easier for you either.

Happy - We may end up turning you into a day fowl rather than a night owl with this opening of the shop. My friend the lolly shop keeper! Don't mind a bit of fresh popcorn myself, however once it gets cold, I am no longer interested.

Annie - You must have the biggest heart in town, just gets bigger the more you have to love. Enjoy the dog. I loved the picture of her in a bun, but what happened to the onions, sauce and mustard?

Ellen - have you made plans for when the kids grow up and go off on their own life journeys? Will you then don the slippers and pass out in the armchair?

Ceejay - yes I have several more projects lined up. But at the moment, I have to forget the two I was going to tackle next until I get the crushed bricks inside the yard and moved to a permanent position. I was hoping not to have to dig for a while, but now I will make a start on the other side of the driveway and put in some drainage and weed mat there and do some more to the garden that DS2 and I started building so long ago. That will work in with the gravel as well.

Laura - sounds like you had a good time with the girls over the weekend. I like the petting zoos as well but only as long as they are well supervised. Some of the kids get a little 'excited' over the little animals and do not behave very well. They need to have a few facts of life 'explained' to them. Having said that, many parents are actually very good with them and the pets. I should not denounce the entire human population even if I wouldn't mind getting rid of about half of them.

Mel - you and me both got up late this morning. Ha Ha :lol3: But you have more excuse than me. All those alarms. Seems like you should have put revolving doors in rather than sliding doors in the foyer.

Speaking of alarms. I got a text message on my phone last night to tell me that I had won 900,000 British pounds because my number got pulled out of a hat (yeah right) and they needed my details. Funnily enough they even asked for my phone number (didn't they just pull it out of a hat?). So I checked out the number from which the call had come and low and behold it comes from one of the African States. Just another hoax now coming to your phone. No doubt some poor idiot will be stupid enough to answer it. Do not acknowledge it, if one should land up on your phone. Just a friendly warning.

Okay, better get into some clothes, dust, sweep and take all the crap out of the wardrobe and get rid of some of it. Then onto the vege garden and then plan out some drainage along the driveway and path. Back later.

diyana 09-10-2012 07:21 PM

hi everyone -

I heard from him. He didn't have signal in Yosemite....which is true the signal can be spotty. They didn't have sex, and I believe that too. She spent the weekend talking with him and convincing him that he should work on our marriage. And knowing her...I do believe that.

Anyway, we agreed we have a lot to discuss when he gets home. DMIL will not be moving in with us now, and maybe not ever. Probably for the best at least until we know if our marriage will work. He and I need some time to talk and work things out...and if we can save our marriage, great. If not...then we move on with life.

I know you all might be thinking I'm too gullible or delusional...but really I'm not. I believe what he told me about this weekend...because I know what the woman is like. Anyway, I believe him. He's going to try and get home as soon as he can. Hopefully, the ticket won't cost him thousands of dollars.

As I said...he and I have a lot to discuss, and hopefully we can do so honestly and in a civil manner.

I'm not being delusional. I'm being realistic. And I'm willing to work on our marriage if he is.

Love and hugs,

happy2bme 09-11-2012 09:08 AM

Good morning ladies,

Supposed to be a high of 90 degrees today and then it bumps down to the 60's tomorrow and stays that way. Cool nights in the high 30's / low 40s too. I guess this is our last kiss of summer. Best go out and get a bit of sun today. I noticed as I was leaving work yesterday that it must have been a very nice day (several customers also mentioned this). And I missed it :( I have mixed feelings about this job to be honest. I like the type of work, enjoy the interaction with people - let's face it, most of them who come in are on vacation and in a good mood anyhow  But the job is SO physically tiring, I am still sore all throughout my body and wonder if I will ever get used to this. I get paid next week and it will be nice to replenish my little wad of mad money but I certainly work very hard for the money. Because it's so tiring, when I come home at night I do little else than sit and rehash the day with DH and then watch some TV or talk on the phone with my family. I have turned from a night owl into a day fowl as Shad suggests  with an early to bed, early to rise rhythm - today I work at 6:10 and while I laid in bed for a while, I got up at 7 as was unable to fall asleep. Some fresh coffee is helping me to wake up. The owners keep asking me if I like the job and will I stay - DH said I should ask if they are hoping I'll say no :D I do think they count on me so I don't want to disappoint. I think it will get easier if I only work 3 days a week.

The frustrating thing is, I eat a small breakfast - mostly yogurt, a small lunch - 1/2 a sandwich and some fruit and then have whatever DH makes for dinner which is generally well balanced. And I am on my feet and constantly moving all day long and I haven't lost a single ounce of weight  Oh and I also drink more water than I did when I was home. Bah.

I did talk to Mom last night. She is tired of hospitals and wants to go home. Sis said she isn't eating much - no appetite. Sometimes I get frustrated with my Mom like when we find out she has been short of breath and wheezing for over 6 months or has had heart palpitations for over a year and neglected to tell the doctors  but yesterday I had a quiet conversation with her. She does have congestive heart failure - she like me went back to what we saw my Dad suffer when he had it and it's the kind of awful thing that puts fear into your soul. The doctors reassured her that 20 years later they have made so many strides in treating this disease that it is easily controlled with medications and things like reasonable sodium restriction. I wonder to (tho she does not say) if she is coming to grips with her own mortality. My sister has born the brunt of the responsibility for her care and transport and I know she is tired though will argue you to the death if you suggest that it's time for her to get a break. I have talked with DH of going into the city to stay with her for a while. I don't think Mom is in a position travel all the way up here and stay with us for a month. Just trying to work out the logistics of it. I have to talk to the shop owner and nail her down for when she REALLY needs the 2 of us worker bees to be at the shop because they will be away. Also need to figure out what's going on with Mom. Right now she is with my sister in the south suburbs at a hospital where her doctors do not have practicing priviledges so Mom is worried how her own doctors will get briefed on her case even tho she is receiving excellent care. If she goes back home and something happens, she will be taken to the ghetto inner city hospitals unless we can convince the ambulance driver to take her to the farther out hospital on the edge of town (a 50 / 50 chance that will happen). Nothing is an easy answer. And since there is no way I will drive the highway between Madison Wisconsin into Chicago, if I come into the city, I will be dropped off and won't have a car. Most of the time probably wouldn't be able to get parking anyway since most of the single family homes now have 6 to 10people with up to 5 cars each - no longer single families but more like rooming houses which the area was never intended to support  Sis said no problem, she will still pick up Mom and take her to appointments and such, but if I go in, Mom gets to go home where she wants to be and it's a bit easier on all of us with someone to watch over her. And the someone to talk to and someone who will cook for her is just a big fat bonus ;) :D

Anyway, sorry to prattle on and on. These are the things going through my mind when I'm not thinking about how sore my back and feet are

diyana 09-11-2012 09:17 AM

Awww, Happy - I'm so sorry to hear that your job is so physically taxing on you. I know for a fact that with my back I could not work at a job that involved nearly constant standing. to you. I'm also so sorry to hear about your mom's condition and the logistical hassles getting her the care she wants/needs. I'm saying prayers for her and the situation. I wish there was something more I could do or suggest. Much love to you, my dear sister.

annie175 09-11-2012 10:28 AM

Good Morning Good Morning....a moment of silence on this 9/11 for all those victims and heros! I believe it is the 11 year anniversary. God Bless America and all the families, friends and co-workers.

Quiet evening at home. Miss Sassy ended up in bed with me and Curtis. No reason other than I love her to pieces. She is doing so well on outdoor potty training. I made a deal with Sissy so she could make some extra money. She is going to puppysit M-T/Th-F for 20 bucks a week. C will have her on his day off Wednesday. Seems funny getting up a little earlier to take the dog to a sitter. Reminds me of the days when my kids were little. lol. I know, you don't have to say it, I am obsessed with this lil girl.

CHELLE...You do what your heart tells you to do. No worries on anyone elses thoughts or feelings. If he is willing to work on it, then do it. Just make sure YOU do not make all the concessions in the relationship to make it work. He needs to be responsible for his faults too! I love ya sister, and I know this has been very hard for you. I am still sending prayers and hugs to you both. xoxo

HAPPY...the lollipop lady. lol. I am sad to hear of you momma's ailing health. I am too, praying for you and your momma and the rest of your family. This subject is very close to my heart and feel your pain. Hugs sweet sista!

SHADDIE...good for you on sleeping in. That makes like 1 time of year you do that. When is the next work project start? Or are you trying to get things done around there before you go back to work?

LAURA....How's your week going?

MELLIE....We are having 82 degree days and 55 degree nights. No humidity. How perfect. Wish I was at home instead of work. Or in the park walking the trails and having a picnic with Curtis and Sassy, and Lil Man.

ELLEN....what are the ages of your kids?

CEEG...I am with you, I am tired and want to go home also.

Everyone have a marvy day!

Loves and Hugs

Laura705 09-11-2012 02:22 PM

Afternoon all.

Ceejay - Hope you've gotten your 2nd wind by now.

Shad - Nice you slept in for a change. Can't recall getting any scammy texts, but I did get some nasty ones a couple months ago from Mexico, and I knew this because my co-worker speaks Spanish. I asked my cell phone co if they could block the number, but no, that's an extra service you pay for. I just decided to wait til they got tired of sending them, and they did after a short time. Just didn't want to get flooded with them and end up going over my monthly text limit.

Michelle - Don't worry what others think, this is your marriage and you know in your gut what you can live with and cannot, and you will soon find out if you both want to work things out or not. Hang in there!

Mel - Glad you had a quiet day yesterday. Hope you've got another one today. Yeh, cars are definitely not what they used to be way back when.

Happy - Sorry work is so physically tiring for you - I bet 3 days a week will work out for you. I just hope it actually gets to that! I hope you work out the logistics for your mom's care. Your sister surely must need a break now. No thoughts of your mother moving closer to her or will that be a major battle sometime down the road?

Annie - Nice that Sassy will not be alone all day long, and nice that dd will earn some extra cash too! Don't know about my week, but my day today has been crummy so far - can't run a report I need and I spilled coffee on my white sweater. Good thing it's not a favorite sweater, in fact if the stain doesn't come out, I won't care all that much. So there.

Hi Ellen!
===
We made fish last night but it just turned out badly and the oil bf fried it in stunk up the house. Next time around I'll prepare it and it'll be baked in the oven, grilled outside, or poached in wine/lemon. Anyway, bf had a scented candle burning, and then we turned on the hvac fan in hopes of drawing in some fresh air. Neither helped much, but we did get a laugh when I said that pretty soon it would be time for the neighborhood skunks to pass through and that they would take care of the oil odor, LOL. :D

Going to see the latest Bourne movie tonight. Bf said the first half hour is sort of hard to figure out, but the rest is good. We'll see.

I WENT DOWN THIS MORNING FORGETTING IT WAS 9/11. THE SENIORS WERE IN THE COMM. ROOM WAITING FOR A POLITICIAN THAT NEVER SAID HE WAS COMING!! GUESS THEY THOUGHT HE WOULD COME HERE EVERY YEAR. SO I STAYED AND CHATTED WITH THEM FOR AWHILE.
IT WAS SUCH A TRAGEDY THAT I TOLD SHAD ONCE I WILL NEVER FORGET THE HORROR, FEAR OR THE SMELL OF THAT DAY. THE NIGHTMARE WENT ON FOR WEEKS, MONTHS. HORRIBLE. AND SO MANY LIVES LOST.
I COULD HARDLY WAIT TO GET BACK TO MY APARTMNENT.
THE QUEEN OF DENIAL IS HOME!!! LOL

HAPPY....I AM VERY SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT MOMS DIAGNOSIS. HOPE SHE WILL FOLLOW THE NECESSARY CHANGES AND THAT YOU WILL FIND AN ANSWER TO YOUR DILEMMA. I WISH I HAD BETTER WORDS OF COMFORT. I CAN IMAGINE HOW YOU FEEL BECAUSE OF THE DISTANCE. I WOULD THINK MOM IS FACING HER OWN MORTALITY. FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE IT IS NEVER EASY. SENDING YOU BOTH THE BEST THOUGHTS I CAN CONJURE UP

ANNIE....I WISH I COULD RUN AWAY WITH YOU AND CEEJAY TODAY AND SAY SCREW EVERYTHING!! ;rofl: I WOULD LOVE TO SEE JAKE AND SASSY! LOL GLAD SISSY CAN SIT SASSY!! SOUNDS LIKE THE TITLE OF A CHILDREN'S BOOK...SISSY & SASSY!! IT WILL EASE YOUR MIND.

LAURA...SKUNKS!! OMG TOO FUNNY!! YOU MADE ME LAUGH AND BELIEVE ME I NEEDED A GOOD LAUGH. I CAN'T WAIT TO TELL JEN CAUSE THERE IS A SKUNK LIVING NEAR OUR BLDG IN A HOLE IN THE LAWN. ON & OFF WE SMELL HIM/HER AT NIGHT. THIS WILL CRACK HER UP!! I KNEW THERE WAS A GOOD REASON I DON'T LIKE FISH!!

happy2bme 09-11-2012 05:51 PM

Hi all,

Sorry I got distracted from personals. Sort of a loosey goosey day but I did get some things done. Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers for my Mom :grouphug: She is spending another night in the hospital - much to her disgust. She just wants to go home home but Sis and I feel she is too unstable to be at her house quite yet.

Mel - hard to believe it's been 11 years. I know what you mean about not ever forgetting. There are certain moments burned in our memory forever. I most remember that my brain would not accept what my eyes were seeing. My heart goes out to all who died and I hope the families and friends of the loved ones have found peace in their hearts. And God Bless those who have worked so hard to defend our freedoms. Thank you very much for your kind words. Ok, I'm ready for the Mel 2013 Tour of the Worldlies, coming to a city near you. I will tell DH to start working on the chair ramp before the snows hit. We will have lots of fun. Shad can film since she's probably the best with a camera. I will narrate. Michelle can post it to the web. Annie will get you travel size toiletries from CVS - or did she quit that job??? Laura will sew you a nice travel bag to put those toiletries in, Ellen will plan the route navigation and Java Turtle will peak out at you if you take the long route south from your place over to see Ceejay first.

Laura - I used to smell skunks at night when I'd sit outside and smoke in AH. Used to make me VERY nervous that I'd walk out as they were passing through. The only thing I found that kills the fish smell is Mandarin (I think it's Satsuma) oil from the Body Shop. The oil you burn in one of those copper burner things. But with the abundance of wonderful seafood restaurants in your area, I'd go out for fish  Enjoy your movie tonight. And no, Mom will never move out of her house on her own. I told Sis we will have to trick her.

Michelle - I sincerely hope that you and the hubster can have some honest conversations and find a point of agreement and compromise that works out best for the both of you. I hope he is in line with saving your marriage because that's what you want. Sometimes it takes a speedbump before you realize there are things you should have talked about and worked out way back on time. I do agree with the others on not selling yourself short and that's all I'm going to say. And of course you have to figure that the inlaws would be supporting their side although I think that's very unfair of them to gang up on you. It's good that DMIL is staying in CA. Sounds like you two need your privacy right now. Hope you are feeling better and getting some much needed sleep.

Annie - what a great idea to get Sassy some companionship and Sissy some extra money. Will you have a hard time waking Sassy up on cold winter mornings to go off to day care? :D Just thinking of toting kids... I'm so glad she has a great temperment. And how cool - she'd be about the size and speed of a dog I could actually walk

Shad - lolly shop keeper... I love it! Will have to put that down as my occupation when I file my taxes next year :write: Sounds like you have the ambitious outdoor projects now that spring is here. Or are you just glad to be home long enough to actually see them to completion? Speaking of which, did DS ever finish the shed project??? I really need to get that baby gift off to you this week before Sophia starts driving.

Hi Ceejay, Mary and Patty

I think I'd better get off the computer and go figure out something for dinner. This was a week where I have lots of chicken and I'm not up for that right now. Have a nice piece of soup meat defrosting for some beef vegetable soup tomorrow. Talk to you later...

ceejay52 09-11-2012 06:16 PM

Today I kept wondering why one of the elevated tanks wouldn't fill up. Yep another leak. It's gone up some but I'm having to watch the other elevated tank and not run it over. UGH!

--------
Happy
Sorry to hear that your mom is sick. Sending her good vibes for both of you. You will get used to working again. It's hard being on your feet for eight hours.

Michelle
Hope you and dh can work things out.

Mel
To funny about the seniors waiting on the politcian. Hope the rest of the week is quiet.

Laura
Don't really know which would be worse, the fish smell or the skunk smell.

Shad
I took a long nap Sunday after I got home.Sat down in the recliner and woke up at bedtime. It's always good to catch up on some sleep.

Annie
Mel is right in the names of Sassy and Sissy. It does sound like a good title.

Nothing to report except I'm off this week end. And I'm going no where and may have my house cleaned as well.

Shad 09-11-2012 07:44 PM

Morning all,
Done an hour in the garden this morning shifting soil. This is the soil that was removed from the bin project and I dumped it on the side of the driveway and the path to the house. I have now mostly raked it over the grass trying to even out the ground over there. I've also done a load of laundry and hung it out. There is much less to do when DS2 is not often home. So now, here I sit and eat my toast with avocado, cheese and tomato and some fruit and drink my coffee while posting here. There is another 5 or 6 things on my list today and the next one off the list will probably be some shopping. I've been clearing out my wardrobe closet and there are some things I will not wear until next winter and some things I will have to diet to wear again. I will give them another year before I chuck them out. So shopping I will go for some of those plastic bins with lids so I can put them away for the season or the year. DS2 has busted the yard broom, so another one is now required. Hardware heaven, here I come.

Michelle - So pleased that at least he rang you. I remain ambivalent about the g/f. The whole thing sounds weird to me. Sounds almost like she wants to have him as a back up when things are not going right elsewhere. As far as the sex goes, I would still insist on a health check for him before normal relations resume. You certainly need time to talk. Ensure that it is calm and rational and if you feel either of you are getting overly emotional, walk away and come back when calm prevails. I don't know if you are gullible or delusional. You are the only one who can make that decision.

Gotta go. Both the home phone and the mobile have decided to spring into action. Back later to finish the personals.

Humpity Bump Day and Trash Day!!! GOOD MORNING!!

Woke up at 1:00 am. Decided to take Miss Sassy Cakes out for a potty break. She must of needed it as she did not hesitate to dump and piddle. She got up with me at 5 and did it again. Must of been full of it. Ate her breakfast, then I put her in bed with C as this is his day off. They were both snoozing away when I left at 6:30.

Lil man is in love love love with Sassy. They are getting along great. He just giggles at her. She puts her feet on his back and licks his ear, he really belly laughs then. Too sweet.

Dinner last night was fabulous. Tried a new recipe and it rocked.

Sweet Basil and Oregano Bruschetta Chicken

1/3 cup olive oil
1 package McCormick® Gourmet Sweet
Basil & Oregano Bruschetta Chicken
2 pounds plum tomatoes, quartered
lengthwise
1 pound chicken tenders, or boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch strips
8 ounces spaghetti or angel hair pasta
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

1.Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Mix oil and Seasoning Mix in small bowl until well blended. Reserve 3 tablespoons. Place tomatoes in single layer on one side of large shallow foil-lined baking pan. Place chicken on other side of pan. Brush tomatoes then chicken generously with remaining oil mixture.2.Bake 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and tomatoes are tender.3.Meanwhile, cook pasta as directed on package. Drain well. Spoon tomatoes into large bowl; coarsely chop. Add pasta, chicken, pan juices, reserved oil mixture and vinegar; toss to coat. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.I also added a little garlic and pepper. Made ghetto garlic bread to go with.

YUMMY>....

going to post this and come back for personals...fires are starting. We did get two new routers so our internet is much faster now.

Love and Hugs

ceejay52 09-12-2012 08:56 AM

Shad
I need to go through my closets this week end and start to put away some of the summer things. And reorganize the spare bedroom closet. It's so full you can't budge any thing in there.

Mel
The night operator didn't get the tank refilled so I'm having to work on that again. My supervisor said they would look for more leaks but it may just be the new Walmart getting their stuff ready. There is more things going in out that way and more usage out of that tank. It's mainly been a back up tank.

At last a free week end to myself. However I have to get through the day and it's starting out to be a doozy.

ceejay52 09-12-2012 08:57 AM

annie
You snuck in on me. The recipe sounds good. May try it this week end.

diyana 09-12-2012 08:59 AM

Hi ladies -

I'm so freaking tired. I'm sleeping a little better at night (only waking up every 3 hours). I'm just tired of all the emotions...and all the freakin' chest pain. DANG! For the last week or so, it's felt like there was a knife in my chest constantly, and occasionally it gets shoved in further and twisted. I've never experienced anything like this; not when my first marriage broke up, not even when I lost my mom and dad.

I'm so hoping and praying that he'll be willing to talk and work things through. And maybe even go to couples counseling.

Speaking of counseling, I have an appointment after work today with a counselor. It's the first appointment, so I'm hoping to be able to give her a reader's digest summary of the situation so there's still time to talk about what I should do/say and how I should act on Thursday evening when he comes home.

Even though I haven't been at the company long enough to officially take time off, my boss is allowing me to take Friday off so that my husband and I can continue any discussions that are started on Thursday night and work on things straight through the weekend.

I'm sorry I've fallen so far behind on personals. I hope you all are doing well. And Happy, I hope your mother is doing better.

Sending prayers, love and hugs to all of you,
