I ate a little earlier today than I have been. Trying to see if that curbs the hungries and chocolate cravings. So far so good. And hopefully ovulation is well over with, so that will help too. I am sick of being hungry this week. "Hungry sucks". That's my new slogan I think. No, maybe it should be "Hungry Bites"
Hunger can bite my @ss. Okay, I am cracking myself up  |
Jo - I am so glad you found too many dresses you liked instead of not enough :) That's a great shopping experience!!! "hungry bites" sounds like a snack food, That would so not help me! LOL!!!!
Krystal - Hope you have an amazing anniversary! Yay on being down on the scale! Alaskan - Great job hitting the gym! |
Hi everyone
I have been busy busy busy :dizzy: Scale read 220 this morning:(:( That is the wrong direction. My calories have been on plan but my sodium has been a little high. since my calories have been OK this must be just water weight. Given time it will come back off again. Larry |
Morning,
Weekly tally Weight 147, no change Walked 28 miles :) Upper body strength training, so far 2 times this week and planning on doing a session today :woohoo: Lots of personal stuff going on and it is keeping me busy. I am being tested this week if I can go without eating for comfort :( so far, I am winning, but that remains to be seen. Trying my hardest! Krystal, I hope you had a great anniversary! Have a fab day my friends! :grouphug: |
Quickly checking in before I head out this a.m.
I didn't want to ruin a hiking day, so I didn't weigh today :p Thanks for the anniversary wishes. We have 1 more day to celebrate...this time w/out FOOD! We are going to play tennis and take our K9s to a park about 2 a hour drive from our house. I promise, we do more with these 2 pups than many people I know do with their kiddos! Work tomorrow night. Happy OP day to all :) So far, idk if this Thyroid Support is working or not. I am still symptomatic  |
Quote:
Like Star, I think this sounds like some kind of evil snack food!! :T |
Sum - Hope your personal stuff clears up quickly and you are able to totally say you triumphed over comfort eating :)
Krystal - Sounds like you have been having an awesome, but busy time celebrating! That's so awesome!!! Last night I held DS hostage and had him do Tae Bo (my DH surprised me with a new one) with me last night, I used weighted gloves. After we were burning from every muscle after 60 mins of that... DS and I proceeded to take the dog for a good walk so DH wouldn't have to worry about doing it before he went to work last night :D It was also a great cool down for us.. win-win! Have a great day all! |
just checking in...did my usual errands this morning and housecleaning...put in 60 minutes of high incline walking like usual...have not been very hungry today which is odd, not head hunger or real hunger...and usually its the head hunger that gets to me...im finding that i really need to have something in my mouth, like chewing gum seems to help me deal with not eating all the time...and once i spit it out, it's not long before i want to eat something and i think it's that need to be chewing things...odd, never noticed that before about myself
ive been bringing a salad to work every afternoon so i wont eat the snacky stuff we serve to the students...its a bag of romaine lettuce and a bag of sliced tomatoes (those ziplock baggies) and i can add dressing at work...so far it's helping me steer clear of MOST of the junk around work i really REALLY want to get down to 190....been hovering 195-197 for a long time now |
I had a busy day yesterday, sorry, not much time for posting.
I didn't log food yesterday, but know I was well within my calorie goals, in my head anyways. I ate dinner after 9:00 last night and was greeted with the lovely 170.0 on my scale this morning, grrr. It is like that damn annoying friend that just won't shut up! Ah well, yesterday I was at 168.4, so I will call it a wash for the week and chalk today's weight to eating late and not drinking enough yesterday. I have a feeling I will be "stuck" until TOM is over, which is still about a week away, so I will just try to stick with the program and not fuss over the scale. Can't wait until I am firmly into the 160s though. I get to get dressed up tonight for a dinner/charity auction so I am excited. I am going to get a run in first, continue attacking this house (that went to crap because I was out shopping for 3 days in a row this week), and then I plan to spend a couple hours pampering myself and getting ready for tonight. I won't spike today, will probably move it to tomorrow or I may just skip it this week, not sure yet. Okay, gotta run :woops: |
:dust: to all of my beautiful friends this weekend!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Try to get outside and do something fun with your family, if possible! AFM: I'm working tonight :faint: I have manage to get an ingrown toenail on my left big toe  and my runs this week have been limited :tantrum: I'm attempting an apple detox for 3 days. I need to try to rid my body of some yuckiness!! |
Jo - Shopping for 3 days doesn't sound like a waste to me, but utter, total fun! It does tend to make housework pile up a bit though :) I hope you enjoy getting all gussied up for the charity event, sounds great!
Krystal - Here is hoping for a super smooth shift for you :) Good luck on the detox. |
:woohoo: I ran a 10k today!!!
I was going to run the typical for me 3ish miles, but I was feeling so good, I kept going and going and going. :woops: Star, yes, shopping was somewhat fun, but exhausting and sometimes frustrating at the same time. At least I found something, that is the important thing. How's your monthly mileage goal going? Tomorrow is halfway there! K9, so sorry to hear about your toe, that's a real downer. Did you get it out of there? Fingers crossed :crossed: for an uneventful night for you! What on earth is an apple detox? Sum, are you fasting at all this weekend? |

:yay: JO!!! You go girl!! :yay: I was cleaning my feet (I hate ugly feet) & somehow managed to poke the side of it with a very sharp pair of tweezers! OUCH!! I didn't think much about it. It didn't even really hurt that much at the time, but I went to bed and woke up with it very angry and irritated. The hike yesterday & Thursday made it 20x worse! There are 2 different Apple Cleanse sites I was referred to by a couple of friends. I am NOT doing it as a weight loss strategy, moreso as a strategy to get my calories and SODIUM back under control, as well as cleanse my colon cavity! Is that TMI?? Apple Cleanse 1 Apple Cleanse 2 How I'm choosing to do this: 1. I didn't buy organic apples, but I did purchase Yellow, Jazz, Fuji, and Gala. 2. I made up a Triple Nut mix from Raw Pecans, Raw Sliced Almonds, & Roasted Pistachios & will eat 1 serving (1/2 cup) 3-4times a day. I wish I had had some raw pistachios, b/c the roasted ones have sodium, but I figure 160g is a H-e-double hockey stix better than the 4100g I ate yesterday! 3. I probably will not drink all of that "warm" water. I do well drinking 64-80 oz/day. My water intake is not my problem. I hope I will be able to hack this for 3 days. Apples really aren't "my bag". |
This cleanse will never work for me for too many reasons I can't discuss atm! Esp @ work!!
|
Jo - So far I am on target for my mileage; especially with translating bootcamps and tae bo into mileage too - great idea ladies! I am so glad you found stuff you liked..and I bet your rock that dress!!!
Krystal - I totally understand about the cleanses. I do a juice cleansing once a year for that very reason. Not the cravings and such, but for clearing any build up of toxins. Mine I schedule at the beginning of May. I usually do it for a period of 3-5 days, depending on the way I am feeling while doing it. I have a feeling I know "why" you can't do while working... same reason I start mine on weekends when I don't have to report to work... when the colon starts to push out toxins, you can't... ummm... stop it? LOL! As for me - Holy cow! What a calorie burning day! I didn't wear my HRM for any of it, so no idea what I burned, but... Started with a BUNCH of walking! We were at the kennels/humane society for some research my daughter had to do for a project for school... we ended up getting a dog (DH was not totally on board at the start, but, now he's attached, lol). Then once home (4 hrs later) we had an early supper so DH could FINALLY get some sleep after working all night. Once the belly settled, DS and I did the extreme ab bootcamp.. then, because we are total masochists (and extremely competitive with each other), we also did 40 mins of the Ultimate bootcamp. I couldn't finish, but I went until I was worn down to the point where I felt I would pass out, THEN.. after a half hour to cool down, DS and I took the doggies out for a good long walk. :O Talk about a good day! |
I think you guys are awesome :grouphug:
We had a blast last night. This was my first true silent/live auction, I have been to others at smaller events, but this was HUGE. We didn't bid on anything, we just watched and learned for next year. There was so much going on at once, silent bidding, live bidding, raffle drawings, 50/50 drawings, door prizes, omg, it was like sensory overload. But I am a quick learner, and I think I would know what I was doing next time. I told DH, next year, I am in on that action! The dinner was fabulous and I was still trying to stick to my calorie goals since I was not spiking yesterday and even with 2 small glasses of wine (I was the DD last night) and dessert, I still came in at around 1500 for the day, yay! I have decided today I am going to spike. I feel like I need to refuel. My deficit this week is huge and I need to make some of that back or my body is going to rebel big time, probably why I am bouncing around so much this week. My body does not like a large deficit. We have a banquet to go to tonight. I will wear a pr. of slacks that I already owned and one of the cute tops I bought. Not sure which one yet. It's fun getting dressed up now. It used to be such a source of stress for me. Hope everyone has a great Sunday! |
i am still here...i dont post alot because i dont have much new to say lol...walking another 5K of high incline yesterday...ran errands, took the kids to do some fun stuff, did laundry and house chores...same old, same old stuff so i dont bother to write alot of it down here...today is a rest day, ive done a 5K walking inclines for 7 days in a row and decided to give myself a rest although i feel like i could still work out today...rode my bike the other day for a few miles also....its hard on my tailbone bones and i have to work up to distance on my bike every spring...its not my muscles that have a problem, my bones dont like that kind of pressure, feels like i bruised my sitting bones
|
Why the apples did NOT work for me, especially at work.....
I was doing great, no hunger....about 9pm, I walked into a patient's room to medicate her. Her husband had just cut a red delicious apple. I looked at it and as soon as I leaned over to get her water for her to take her meds, I smelled this apple. I became UNCOMFORTABLY nauseated. It was ridiculous! Then, I started having abdominal cramps as if TOM were knocking down my door. OMG! I was about to be sick all over this lady! Luckily, I did not vomit, nor did I have any other episodes at work. Instead, I had that urgent sense of "Give me a piece of toast or a cracker" that you get when you are nauseated. I had a turkey sandwich from work, then had DH bring me a chicken wrap from home, instead of ordering :jeno: w/the rest of them. I have had so many off plan/over calorie days, I'm really not sure what OP is anymore :( |
oohhh krystal just the thought makes me feel ill :( ugh sooo sorry...im mildly sensitive to apples as is, they make my stomach hurt if i eat an apple by itself, bad cramps
wish i had some good advice on how to get back on plan and under calories ((hugs)) i struggle with that too |
Quote:
I went to WalMart, bought a granny "big booty" seat & can ride for 8-10 miles at a time now. They also make padded butt shorts you could try if you are really into biking!! |
i did buy a cushioned seat to use, which makes it bearable...it just takes getting used to
i think it's because i damaged my tailbone twice as a teenager...and also my hips were uneven by 3 inches for awhile or so i was told...and also my spine is messed up...it's fixed as good as can be, but i have an extra vertebrae, plus my lower spine (L5 area) is twisted and somewhat collapsed inward....chiropractor told me xrays show one vertebrae twisted completely around facing inward instead of outward .... |
Greetings from blustery Michigan and Happy Tax day! (ugh, we owe sooooo much this year)
Monday, Monday.... So much to do. I am going to fast today. My eating has been "meh", I have not logged it. I am hoping to get my mojo back and kick butt this week. A VERY busy week ahead... Cam has 3 baseball games & practice on other days, Kati has High School Musical, Kati and I are taking a self defense class (4 week class), million errands, house is a HUGE mess ~ I think I let my family have too much fun  ~ and all my stuff to do, and let's not forget the favorite child; Shadow needs her daily 80 minute walks + 20 minute swimming session. -- I am glad I am am so busy though. It will keep me sane ;) Jo I am so glad you had a nice weekend and nice party. I loved reading how you are feeling thin! You just sound happy and pretty  Krystal You will find your detox. Have you looked into any kits? I know the apple one is supposed to be very good tho. Star Yikes; that was one great day! You go girl!!! to everyone else! Well I am off to do my walk first. Everyone have a FAB and FIT day! |
I am soooo tired today and I have soooo much to do. . .
I think I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and much much earlier than I wanted to. Makes me wonder if TOM is closer than I think it is. I just feel dragged out. I did get my walk in, we just made it before a huge downpour! I'll pop in later when I hopefully am feeling a little spunkier. |
Krystal - that was not where I thought you were going with doing the apple cleanse. Dang. Sorry to hear that.
Alaskan - I hope you are able to build up to the mileage you want on the bike eventually Jo - Great job getting in the walk before the downpour! Sometimes nature has different timing then we do  Sum - Sounds like you are booked solid! Have fun though! Our new doggie seems to be adapting well to his new environment. Son and I are SUPER sore from the recent workouts. Still no movement on the scale for this week either, even with the exercise being "upped" so much more. Starting to wonder if it's a food reaction? Who knows. Either way, I am tickled at all the other progress, so I stay with it Have a safe day to the start of the week all! |
Kristiina: :yay: for making commitments with the children! That's awesome! You will be super busy this week. You're like a super mom!
I've done detox kits before, but never a food one. Good luck with the fast today! You got this gf!! Jo: So glad to hear you enjoyed yourself at the auction. What exactly was being auctioned off? Alaskan: The only way to get back OP and under cals is to stop eating at your allotted #. That sounds pretty easy huh!! If if were that easy everyone would be doing it, right?? I feel completely defeated atm. I sure hope this passes quickly. Star: A new poochie!! :yay: Where's our pic??? I would love to get another pup, but we literally have no where to house another one atm. I already feel like I live in a kennel! I have Riv in the bed with me and DH, Jax is right at my feet, there is NO room left in our bed! I know they need their own bed, but tbh, I'd rather sleep w/Riv  Sorry there hasn't been any movement on the scale for you either. What is up with the scale not moving the correct way for any of us? Does it seem like other 3FC members have it easier and all figured out? :chin: AFM: As stated on MFP, I have a very infected Left Big Toe, with an ingrown toenail! This is what happened....I was cleaning my feet Tues. night. I pulled some dead skin out from around all of my toes. I hate crusty-looking feet! I accidentally poked this particular toe with a pair of very sharp needle-point tweezers. Didn't think anymore about it. It wasn't hurting nor bleeding. Went to the gym Wed. it seemed fine. Went hiking Thurs/Fri & played tennis. By the end of this hike on Fri, I had to take my shoes off. I was in soooo much pain! Saturday night, I went to work and had to literally take my shoes off and put on disposable surgery shoe covers to make my morning rounds. I have been taking Advil for the inflammation and last night, I started taking an antibiotic that I had at home for skin infections. This is like the LAST thing I needed! On another note....DH and I FINALLY finished our taxes yesterday. We are actually getting a refund :yay: Every year, I start asking him to do them on Feb 1. & every year, we wait and wait and wait until April 15!! Such procrastination :p On the "Scale Factor" note....I am back up to where my body loves to be {148}. I think it has a lot to do with the 7000g of sodium last Thurs & Fri. What do you all think? I can only laugh about it. On the Gym note.....No workouts for me until this toe heals. I have 12 days until the race. I can barely walk around my house on it, much less head to the gym for a workout! I hope you all have a fabulous Monday! |
Krystal - I sure do hope the toe heals before your 1/2 mary!! Sorry no pics yet... poor lil guy was given a mercy-grooming at the shelter, so going to give him a week to adjust... do a real good bath and trim and then post pics. I still think it's funny we went for DD to do research on a project and I walk out with a pooch, LOL
|
Krystal that is a big outch! Toe and finger pain are the worst!
|
So, sitting at home being able to do limited activity does not wear well on me.
I have eaten 1300 cals (feels like a ton) & am so bored at home, I could easily down another 1300! :stress: This toe is feeling better, but it sure doesn't look better! It looks like there is a growth on it, full of sero-sanguinous fluid--that's TMI, sorry. I think it was caused by dirt getting in it on the hikes and irritating it combined with my sneakers enclosing the toes in for such a long period of time. I have Bacitracin on it as well as a small piece of gauze under the nail to allow it to breath and heal. I have been soaking it in Epsom Salt 3-4x/day and have it covered with a bandage. Anyone guess I am a RN yet?? |
using the word sero-sangui-whatsit gave you away as an RN LOLOL
hope your toe gets better :( |

|
Oh Krystal, what have you gotten yourself into now? ? ?
I was actually thinking, well, at least she is a nurse! Of course we all know nurses and doctors are the WORST patients! And I know all too well what it is like to have to sit on your @ss and not be able to work out, it sux royally and I hope you don't have to sit for long. to you! |
Krystal, I am with you. My body seems to be perfectly happy around 147-148 :( -- I hope your toe issue will get better soon!!
Star how is the newest addition to your family doing? did you tell us what kind? ~ Sorry my head is not engaging today.... Jo I am crampy as well, as if TOM is here. I did a pretty good fast today. I just need to find my mojo back. I think I will do a sushi lunch with the girls sometime this week. Need a little reinforcement :hat: I just realized TOMORROW is the tax day ~ I had to write a check that had 5 **FIVE** numbers on it to uncle Sam. So I am just feeling blue all over. :^: I knew we had underpaid a bit, just makes me sad how much I worked last year, and I feel we got to keep very little of it. This year I am not working.... Well I will sign off before I will bring everyone down with my miserable attitude :halfempty: :sorry: :D |
Krystal - We can tell, but it works in your benefit to know how to treat it :) Hopefully all the "nursing" of it will make it heal faster
Sum - The doggie is a Bichon Frise mix. The shelter thinks he is about 2 yrs old... honestly though, since he had the mercy grooming, he just looks like a wire-haired rat, He seems to be adjusting ok, has a freakish bond with DD 16. He has never been trained - leash trained, house trained, etc. However, other than poo accidents this morning in the pool room (he had not gone in 2 days, so we expected that), he has not been making accidents. We walk him when we take our other dog, and I have DD walk him around backyard. He seems to be taking to the leash, now have to train proper walking so he benefits from it - he is doing his business in backyard (our other dog refuses to go in backyard and only on walks, so won't argue). Sounds like you have had a trying day. Hopefully the sushi lunch will be just what you need :) Renew your outlook a bit,, bring you up :D No big workouts for me tonight. I took the fur boys out for a walk, then took Chico (the original fur boy) for a short run. Other than that, I had so many errands to run that time has not allowed for much else. Probably just as well since I am sooo sore from the other workouts - won't hurt to have a day for the muscles to recover before I go back at it :) Sleep well all!!! |
Morning :sunny:
I went to bed early. I watched my new fav show called "smash". I think I told you all that I was a ballerina and went to a theatrtical high school? Any case I love the show from all the dancing and singing aspect. Funny thing happened yesterday, dance related, I was asked to teach again. I would not feel comfortable, considering I look like a :moo: and I would be teaching leggy and lanky gorgeous things. I feel I would not look professional. BUT, maybe I should shoot for this fall, it would give me a goal and something to do. |

Hmm, I seem to be just as miserable this morning as yesterday. TOM is definitely knocking on my door, but according to my app, I still have 8 days! That just cannot be true. I think it is 6 at the most, more likely 5?
I am just muddling through right now. I don't feel like counting, logging, planning or even thinking about weight loss right now. I think I have hit the "I am sick of it" stage again. Could be PMS or I could just be sick of it all again. I think I need to focus on catching up on some sleep and go from there. I also need to find some different foods to eat, maybe switch everything up again. double ugh. |
Hehe...Jo...love you!
I can teach any age and level group. I personally love teaching younger ones, but the soon to be next possible star kids work so hard and I love teaching them as well. Or I could teach moms! Ballet is a tough "sport", I could help some moms to get back in shape. If I were to teach higer level kids, that were to mean a lot of out of town competition trips during weekends, and as of now that is not an option for me. I will definitely think about it. |
Jo I feel the same....you put it well....sick of it! But....we all have each other and we will get past this! I want to quit, but I won't and you won't either!
I actually had NSV this am. My scale is stuck at 148. I was in my bathroom and looked at myself and I looked quite slim in my mid section....so I took measurements. My waist is down an inch to 31. My belly, which I hate, is down to 36 from 37 1/2 ( I measure around belly button) and my hips were 39 from 39.5. I measured myself April 5th. So we will just keep on working! |
I am up early this morning to schedule an appointment to have this toenail surgically removed. There are many medical things I can solve at home. However, this is NOT one of them.
I didn't even clip my toenail for crying out loud :tantrum: |
Oh Krystal good luck today! Will you need stitches?
