Hi Michelle! I'm glad you and dh spent a lot of time sleeping this weekend, and I'm sorry you can't take more time off to get some more rest!! You must be so worried about dh! Poor guy. I hope those meds start kicking in big time SOON.

I liked the movie Love Actually - what it is about Hugh Grant in those kinds of movies?? I have never seen The Bucket List - I'll have to get it from the library. No, I hadn't seen all the nominated movies - I didn't see Moneyball, Hugo, or Extremely Loud/Incredibly Close, and I only saw 20 minutes of The Tree of Life, LOL. Out of those, I may at some point see Moneyball. Definitely see the winner, The Artist, when it comes to DVD - it's a very entertaining movie. Nothing deep or disturbing, just good.

Sorry you got all that snow!! It was so yucky - I'm so glad it's all gone now!! :)

What a Marvelous Monday.....The birds were singing on the way in, the sun is shining...high today 50!

I have to go get my permanent crown on this afternoon. It did not fit right last Friday so they had to retool it. I am NOT looking forward to more mouth torture today...lol. Oh well

LAURA..I loved the Bucket List. Sissy and I saw it at the movies when it was on. I have Love Actually at home in Curtis's collection but have not watched it yet...will have to soon. I have never been to an Oscar's party, but have done an in office ballot thingy...didn't win anything tho. Boo.

CHELLE...good for you for staying home and taking care of you and DH. That does my heart good. You are a good girl for doing what you are told, you may get a surprise for being good. lol

MELLIE...muscles are not too bad today. I think I needed the workout...lol I shall make you an angle food cake with all the trimmings when I visit you some time....wink! Please stay upright, no falling or sickie stuff. hugs

CEEJAY...so glad you had a good time in Paragould. I love the smell of wood burning and leaves burning...I am weird like that. I also love to play in the fire pit. lol

HAPPY...I like to listen to Karaoke if it is good and not loud...I, like you, do not sing, cannot carry a note. Hope you stayed above the snow this weekend.

SHADDIE...how in the world do you know if you are coming or going. or do you just meet yourself in the middle?

Made Chicken noodle with veggies soup to crockpot over night. We are having a pitch in babyshower for a girl here at work tomorrow. She has heratburn really bad. So I thought that would be light. She is having a boy and naming him IVAN JAMES...I just cannot get into the name Ivan. Sounds like a cat name to me. lol.

Well better get buzy as I have to leave early for dentist appt.

Loves and hugs.

diyana 02-27-2012 01:26 PM

Annie - How exciting having all that "new" furniture! And exciting for DS to get "new" furniture too! But yes, driving around and moving furniture can be very exhausting. The strawberry angel food layer cake sounds really yummy! Laura is right...after all that moving and driving, you still made dessert...which is just mind-boggling. Good luck at the dentist today. Sending you lots of :goodvibes: .

Ceejay - Glad you had a nice time in Paragould. I know you and Annie gotta be counting down to vacation time!

Laura - Congrats on winning most correct Oscar picks. Good for you for not calling in sick. I very nearly did that today...or at least called in to work remotely, but I figured if DH can get through the day then certainly I can. You're definitely doing a lot of working out! :cp: :cp: Since you're doing strength/resistance training...you're not working out the same muscle groups day after day are you? Abs/core are the only muscle groups it's okay to train every day with no day off in between. You need to give your muscles time to recover. Can you just do cardio tonight if you go with bf to his gym? I was thinking about seeing the Artist when it comes out on DVD. From the clips I've seen it looks good, and has an adorable Jack Russell in it. :)

YES WE ARE DANCING OVER HERE. THE NURSE JUST LEFT AND MY LUNGS ARE CLEAR SINCE THE DR WAS HERE LAST FRIDAY. YES!!! HE'S COMING THIS FRIDAY AND THEN I GO FOR NEW TESTS IN 2 WEEKS. JUST TO MAKE SURE AND FIND OUT ABOUT THE ADDITIONAL NODES AND WHAT THEY'RE UP TO. HE SAID MAYBE THEY'RE JUST SCAR TISSUE...WE'LL SEE.:crossed:

NO TRADER'S THIS WEEK OF COURSE BUT HE SAID I MIGHT MAKE THE ONE ON MARCH 15th :dancer:

MICHELLE,,,,,,YOUR POOR HUBBY. MY HEART GOES OUT TO HIM. WE KNOW ALL ABOUT STUPID DRS OVER HERE!! HOPEFULLY THIS NEW SET OF MEDS WILL WORK THEIR WONDERS ON HIM. SETBACKS ARE NOT FUN:hug:
HOPE YOU ARE FEELING GOOD TOO. hOW'S THE CONGESTION?? WHEN I AM DONE WITH SHAD'S RIOLL OF BUBBLEWRAP.....I WILL SEND IT OVER TO YOU & DH!!!! WE REALLY NEED TO GET OUT OF THIS "CAN YOU TOP THIS?" COMPETITION MODE! :lol3: :lol3:

ANNIE...SOUP SOUNDS GOOD AND HOPE THE GIRL FEELS BETTER. HATE HEARTBURN!! MAYBE A YEARS SUPPLY OF AN TUMS MIGHT BE A GOOD GIFT. POOR KID:bb: SO SORRY ABOUT THE CROWN AND A 2ND VISIT. NO FUN FOR SURE:hug: PRAYING IT FITS RIGHT THIS TIME!!!

LAURA....THE BUCKET LIST WAS A GOOD MOVIE BUT THEN I LOVE BOTH OF THE ACTORS. HUGH GRANT WAS GOOD IN NOTTING HILL TOO. I LOVED ALL HIS MOVIES....EVEN THE ONE WITH DREW BARRYMORE.....LYRICS SOMETHING OR OTHER....I FORGET THE TITLE. HE IS JUST SO LOVABLE....MAYBE IT'S THE BAD BOY IMAGE:rofl:  TOO BAD HE WENT OUT TO LOOK FOR A HOOKER THAT TIME....I WOULD HAVE GIVEN IT TO HIM FOR FREE:belly:

annie175 02-27-2012 05:05 PM

Oh Holly Mackeral....the crown did NOT fit. Had to suffer through more drilling and a numb right side of face...cannot stand pain or sensitivity...every time I jerked the doc shot some more cr*p into my gum...Thank you JESUS!. New impression of tooth then go back later for the real crown.....he called the lab that actually did not make it correctly according to impression or make it the correct color...my white is A2 they made it an A3 which is on the yellow side...he showed it to me and OMGoodness was it so off. It's all good...bright side...he did not settle on an incorrect crown...gotta love that.

MELLIE...HOOOOORAHHHH on the clear lungs...I am sure it is scare tissue on the lungs...kind of like my "shadow" on my lungs that xrays always lead to MRI's. I finally told any doc that questioned my shadow...not to bother with an MRI...it is a shadow proved too many times than I can count.....praying for the best.

CHELLE...I would love more than anything to cook for you and DH...believe me..Curtis and I will be all about it. I will let you know the vacation times we have scheduled...Unfortunately, Curtis has to put in for his vacay in January for the entire year...so his time is already accounted for but will let you know what the times are.....

Hello's to all you sweet chicka sisters...wish we could have a cheap reunion...

Love and hugs.

annie175 02-27-2012 07:49 PM

MELLIE...not scare tissue...which I am sure it might be...but scar tissue...duh....lol

Dinner was absolutely dilish.....Asian marinated ribs...then baked in the oven on low heat for a few hours.....only thing I made to go with was Kraft mac n cheese...was in no mood to go any further. Curtis absolutely loved the ribs and was happy with the mac n cheese. I ate the ribs forego went the mac.....YUMMY...if you want the recipe for the ribs, let me know...too good to describe.

Nuttin else cept gettin' in the new KING bed...so awesome, however have to take the shuttle to the other side to make the bed. lol

happy2bme 02-28-2012 02:13 AM

Hi ladies,

Sorry I didn't check in. Been a bit busy today. They were talking about a storm warning here - at first 1 to 2 inches of snow which is pffftttt - nuttin. Now they are talking a huge storm coming off of Canada predictions of 6 to possibly 15 inches of snow starting tomorrow evening overnight into Wednesday morning. Spent the day - is it or not? My cousin stopped by and said given the tracking of things and what he's seen from the years up here, he believes it will hit hard. So we decided to be prudent and go stock up the larder. We will be ok as long as we don't lose power since everything including the well (water), gas and lights depend on electricity. We don't have a generator but asked the neighbors on our street if they lose power and they said only once in the last 5 years during a summer storm for a couple of hours. Not sure if living near the hospital helps any with the power grid. My cousin's wife is excited - she loves big storms - said it's like living inside a giant snow globe. And they lose power on a regular basis! So anyway I was distracted today.

Annie - I'll take the recipe for ribs if you are giving it out - love ribs. Sorry about the tooth - I need alot of novacaine, I wish they gave it out more freely. As I told the dentist - no fun sitting in the chair waiting for the pain to hit. :yikes: I hope they got it good the next time around. Funny about taking the shuttle to the other side of the bed - I take it this is your first king size bed? The bedding is a pistol to wash too - wait, you'll see  Hope it gives you sweet dreams tho. Bummer that Curtis has to put in all his vacation requests at once - but I guess they need to plan the routes out - we all loves us our Hostess and would not be happy for breaks in the deliveries. Does this mean he has to swap with someone if he absolutely needs to change plans - like an emergency or surgery or something? As for Ivan - at least she spelled it correctly. I am so over people with these cutesie spellings of names ie. Eyevahn. It annoys me when I see them - what are parents thinking - no one will ever spell their kids name right for the rest of their life and a unique spelling does not make them special in an of itself. Spelling is fundamental and a lost art apparently. Ok, off the soapbox before I turn into my Mom.

Mel - I am spinning in my chair dancing for you too! :flow2: :spin: Now before you get dizzy - STOP - because we don't want any accidents or mishaps. I will send you some snow if you are running short on any up that way. Maybe I can save some snowballs in the freezer and we can give Shad a proper welcome when she comes by this way, ok? I hope you are well enough by March 15 to do the TJ's run and get maybe some soda bread or something to celebrate St. Paddys. I know how you love the green beer - yeah right, huh? :dizzy:  How is Jen holding up?

I loved the Bucket List. And Hugh was cute but behind that impish grin is a fellow getting in trouble thinking he can get away with it by just smiling if he gets caught. Not so sure I am such a fan anymore... Just like Clooney is turning into a man ho and I think he might be turning some people off. Did not watch the Oscars yesterday - I only saw one of the nominated movies - The Help and I have had my fill of Angelina.

Michelle - Poor DH, that fungal thing just lassoed him and spun him around good, whoa. You got much more snow out of the last storm than we did. Hope this next one misses you. Bummer on the movies changing but at least you were able to have dinner with your friend. Sometimes sitting and talking is better. Seems like when you are dealing with a break up there are nothing but romantic comedies and stuff that just doesn't fit the bill. So maybe some talking and a glass of wine or two would be better. I hope they can work things out.

Laura - I can't believe you didn't see the Bucket List with as many movies as you like to see. I actually liked Morgan Freeman in Shawshank Redemption and Bucket list was kind of like that - him the straight guy but with a nut like Nickelson to contend with. Thanks for the tips on the other movies. They were saying the Artist was a dark film - sometimes those are kind of deep. Was Billy Crystal good on the Oscar show? I think DH stopped my taping of the red carpet because of a conflict and he taped the Oscars just to see Billy. I marvel at the opening montage where they tie him into the Oscar nominees. I'm sort of sorry that Melissa McCarthy didn't get an Oscar - just because she deserved kudos for playing a slob with no makeup so very well but I'm sure there were more deserving nominees :o You need to ditch that cheddar popcorn fast because there is no easy recovering from that sin  good but welcome Mr. Salty and his giant watercooler sized bottle of water you need after that. Not to mention the orange fingertips. Congrats on winning for most picks - good guessing!

Shad - back on the road again. *sigh* I certainly hope this is a much better week and that last weekend's travel fiasco is far behind you. I do not envy those who have to travel for a living. In fact, I would never have the patience that you do for your job. I suppose that's a good thing that the contract will run longer than they think - then you can plan a nice break in between.

It's really late and once again, I have missed an opportunity for an earlier bedtime. Need my rest as I will be out shovelling snow with DH if this comes about although I think the worst will be overnight tomorrow which will make for a busy Wednesday morning. In any event, I'll be signing off for now. Goodnight all...

I NEED SOME TV DINNER-TYPE THINGS.
THE MICRO & I HAVE LEARNED TO BECOME EVEN BETTER FRIENDS:rofl:
NOTHINGNEW HERE FOR A CHANGE. OH JOY OH JOY!
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY:moped:

LAURA....CONGRATS ON WINNING AGAIN!! THOSE WERE GOOD GUESSES!!
I FELT THAT MERYL WOULD WIN BUT WAS A BIT SURPRISED THAT THE ARTIST GUY WON.
I WAS THINKING OF CHEEZY POPCORN LAST NIGHT....THAT LED TO DROOLING THOUGHTS OF CARAMEL CORN. ALL YOUR FAULT

ANNIE.....I AM SORRY YOU HAD SUCH A HARD TIME AT THE DENTIST.
ANOTHER NIGHTMARE. THEY MUST BE SOME OF THE MOST HATED MEN IN THE WORLD!!
HOPE THE MOUTH FEELS OK TODAY:hug:

HAPPY......I AM SO GAD YOU HAVE FOUND YOUR JOY AGAIN!!!
IT WAS THE FIRST THING I NOTICED THIS MORNING...YOU'RE LITTLE GUY JUMPING UP AND DOWN SO EXCITED:hug: BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I SAW YOU THIS HAPPY!!! I SAW THE STORM ON TV AND HOPE IT'S NOT AS BAD AS IT LOOKS BUT IT'S CUTTING A WIDE PATH ACROSS YOUR AREA. YIKES!! GLAD YOU STOCKED UP. HOPE YOUR CAN OPENER ISN'T ELECTRIC!!! SENDING GOOD THOUGHTS THAT YOU DON'T WAKE UP AND FIND YOURSELF IN YOUR COUSIN'S WIFE'S SNOW GLOBE:ginger:

MICHELLE.....SAID YESTERDAY THAT I TRULY HOPE BOTH YOU AND DH ARE FINALLY ON THE MEND AND MAYBE CAN SLEEP THE WEEKEND AWAY WHEN IT ARRIVES. SOME TOUGH TIMES ALL AROUND.

CEEJAY..............WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?!??!?!? HELLO?!?!?!?

SHE MUST BE VISITING SHAD....THEY ARE BOTH MISSING.

annie175 02-28-2012 10:14 AM

Good day before Hump/Trash Day....

Today is the baby shower for a girl in our office...we have all kinds of goodies ready to go. The way my mouth hurts maybe I won't eat too much. Can only hope. Sissy is bringing lil man up to the shower.

HAPPY.....loved the thought of living in a snow globe, only mine would be a beach globe...no snow here. lol If Curtis had a medical emergency, it would be sick days or LTD. I have not heard of him switching with anyone ever so I am not sure on that one. Yes, and he has 5 weeks vacation, now how can you know what you are wanting to do for an entire year? bah. I will have to post the recipe for the ribs from home as the recipe is at home...I have already washed the bedding once, it was no picnic. Yes, this is my first real King bed. Had a mattress water bed when married, but didn't sleep in it much, kept waking up to a dumb*$$ on the other side. lol
I made my side of the bed but not his...he learned to make it if he wanted to sleep in a straightened out bed. I am with you on the name spelling thing, can drive a person nuts and besides all that, some people with weird spelling names actually get teed when you don't spell it right or pronounce it right...blah.

MELLIE....hunker down in with some good movies and stay warm chicka. We are supposed to get rain but 50's and 60s on the temp. Mouth hurts like someone punched me. Look at the bright side...I am healthy and this will go away soon...like what do I have to complain about...you have much worse going on with you...shame on me. Yeah dentist and the IRS peeps are sure to be the most hated...lol Not too forget the govt peeps you deal with all the time.

Hello to all my worldlie sistas...have a peaceful, happy, healthy, wonderful day!!

Loves and hugs....

Laura705 02-28-2012 11:06 AM

Morning all.

Annie – Sorry your crown didn’t fit!! You poor thing – well at least you can slurp some of your soup at the shower today. Bf also had his crown fitting yesterday – the 2nd one, after the first one was a goof up – and he said it seems okay so far. :crossed: The Asian ribs sound delicious - I’d love to have that recipe when you get a chance. Hmmm, Ivan. Reminds me of a former Cub – Ivan DeJesus. But his name was pronounced more like Yvonne, which I prefer to the Eyevin pronunciation. IMO, the only thing these goofy/uncommon names can do for the kids is make them tough, so they can deal with the teasing, lol. Wow, I can’t imagine having to schedule all my vacation time at the beginning of the year!!! Re the King Size bed – yeh, it’s a lot of steps just to make the bed! Bf prefers we change the sheets and make the bed together to avoid all that, LOL.

Michelle – Yes, I did work the same muscles two days in a row, so I deserved my soreness yesterday! But I was also sooo tired most of the day yesterday from my late Sunday night, there was no way I was going to exercise last night, so I didn’t. Yes, you would really enjoy The Artist.

Mel – So glad your lungs are clearing up so nicely. :) I hope the nodes are really scar tissue instead. Just keep on your guard against germy situations and overdoing anything! I think that the Hugh Grant movie w/ Barrymore might have been called Song (or is it Music?) and Lyrics?? No, didn’t care for that one. Some of Drew Barrymore’s movies just don’t do it for me – like that movie “100 first dates”. I’m curious if I’d like Big Miracle. I was pretty sure Jean Dujardin (sp?) of The Artist would win since he’d won the Golden Globe…yeh, very much unknown in the US - I’m sure to many it seemed like Clooney would certainly win it. But this guy has a great face, and when you see The Artist, I’m sure you’ll like him almost as much as his cute little dog, heehee.

Happy – Gosh you’re up late! I hope you’re prepared for whatever amount of snow you end up getting and that you don’t lose power!!! I don’t consider The Artist to be a dark film at all. I would say it’s kind of like those depression-era movies, where the plot of course includes a crisis of some sort , but there’s generally no doubt there will be a happy ending. Yeh, I enjoyed Billy Crystal as host of the Oscars. Let’s just say he was a million times better than hosts Ann Hathaway/James Franco last year!!! As for all the stupid stuff all the actors do in their personal lives – they’re human too and their flaws and mistakes get magnified just like their images on the screen. Goes along with the spotlight, right?

Hellos to Ceejay, Shad, and Mary!
--
Well, like I told Michelle, I was extremely tired all day yesterday due to my late night on Sunday. I wasn’t all that productive at work, so maybe I should have stayed home!! No exercise last night, but my steps totaled 7918, so not bad (walked both to and from the train. Dinner was shredded chicken soft tacos, yum.

Tonight will be the movie “The Woman in Black” which is a haunted house story starring Daniel Radcliffe, aka Harry Potter.

I will go to this movie, but I’ve been stewing over something that happened right after the Oscars ended Sunday night that might change movie nights for me. One of the original movie group members, L, took me aside and was hemming and hawing to tell me something. The something was that another woman, whom she did not name, said that she didn’t want me to bring bf to the movies anymore because it’s a “girls only” thing and that he talked too much during the movie. Well, I definitely get the talking thing, and I’ve been annoyed by that myself, so I agree. (But then again, doesn’t this person know how to say “shhh”?)

Anyway, I’m sure this person is someone from the book club and not an original movie group member, and for whatever reason that bugs me…first because they didn’t tell me themselves probably because they feel like they don’t know me well enough to tell me. The talking too much part I get, but the girls only thing is just stupid. You want to have a night away from your hubby, fine. My bf is there to watch a movie and he’s not pals with your hubby or any of the other hubbies and he isn’t going to report back on anything you might say or do, so why do you even care? Grrr. L was concerned with how I’d take it, and I told her I’m okay with it, but I probably wouldn’t be going to the movies nearly as much because I like to go to the movies with my bf every once in a while. She wasn’t thrilled about that, but that’s the way it is. I haven't been going to the movies as frequently anyway, and if bf can’t tag along occasionally, then we’ll go on our own.

This may be illogical, but I think this whole thing just sort of tipped me over the fence about quitting the book club. Yes, I’ve never done anything for years about my personal feeling that there’s often way too much talk about their kids and their activities and not enough about the book. And that’s my own problem and more a matter of me not fitting in with these women (all moms), and not something I would ever try to force on them. Maybe in my mind I needed a better excuse to quit, and now that I'm sort of soured on whoever made their complaint, I have it?

Okay, now that I've unloaded on that, I have to get some work done!!

diyana 02-28-2012 01:36 PM

Crazy busy day today at work!

My doc appt went pretty well...more antibiotics and more Prednisone. DH's doc appt went pretty good. The doc is referring him to 2 specialists at Southeastern WI's best hospital (an Infectious Disease doc, and a Thoracic surgeon in case they need to cut out a chunk or two of his lung for a biopsy). He's got an appointment with the surgeon for Friday. I want to go to the consult, but he says he'll need me more if/when he has surgery.

I hope y'all are doing okay...sorry I don't have time for personals...lots of crisis at work today, and I've also got a meeting with my boss.

ceejay52 02-28-2012 05:20 PM

Mel
I'm here. Came back from the uncles and caught a nasty stomach virus. Guess there were still germs from his virus still present in the house. Still a little nauseated. Monday and Tuesday I missed work. I'm planning on going back tomorrow.

Michelle
Sending healing thoughts for both you and dh.

Happy
I've been seeing the reports of a big snow storm heading your way.
sounds as though you are prepared.

Annie
Yum on the Asian ribs.

Laura, Shad and Mary

annie175 02-28-2012 06:29 PM

Girls, girls, girls...live to make you happy not the entire world....

LAURA...maybe have BF sit elsewhere at the movies to make the Beeeaches happy...my personal opinion...she is jealous that you have a BF and that you have such a great relationship...usually it is about that and not about the fact he is there. Pffff...on her...do what you want to do and maybe tell BF..."shhhhh". lol When people cannot talk with you personally they are embarrassed about what they have to say....BS on her. Don't even get me started on people who are unhappy with their BF, non-BF or their life in general. They have a LOT to learn about life and the world. God would not be too happy with them...just mo.

CHELLE...glad the doc appt went well...keep taking care of YOU FIRST...then and only then can you think about work and others...understand? Glad DH has appts with more docs to see what is up....God love your hearts...I am still praying for you both and wishing you well. xoxoxo

CEEJAY...ew YUCK on the stomach virus....hope you are feeling much better...remember to wash your hands and use santizier....it sounds a little much but will help you in the end. TAKE CARE OF YOU!!..

Today is momma and dads 65th wedding anniversary...I am sure she is celebrating in heaven....she is so looking after me, my kidlets, my grandbabes and all....I miss her more than ever...Happy Anniversay Momma...I love you!!

Gotta get off of here, tears are filling my eyes.

Shad 02-29-2012 04:54 AM

I'm here too, but snowed under. Go-live on Monday and I have 3 classes left to do, then home for a weekend, and back for nightshift on Monday night. Lucky me.

Other than that I am sleeping well again, I am eating better now that I am not going to the dining room and am eating pre cooked dinners from a local line. They are just enough to keep you going. Not more not less and a damn sight better than the plastic tv dinners at the supermarket.

Have a lot to get through before bed, so forgive the lack of personals and I will make up for it over the next couple of days (I hope)
