SEE YA WEHEN YOU GET BACK. ENJOY:hun: |
Hello ladies,
I seem to pick the exact times to come in here when they are having problems with the site - and they've been having more than a few problems lately. Hence my lack of posting... Mel fell down, Annie can't sleep, Ceejay is having issues at work, Michelle is sick and Shad is just a whirlwind of bad luck. What the heck is going on here? Sorry Laura but I guess this means you drop to the bottom on the sympathy list for a broken purse  Mel - OMG - I can't believe that fall. I am so glad you didn't break anything but that had to be so scary. This is NOT what you need right now. I'm glad you are making it through the troubles, don't get cocky but please remember that you are a tough lady when the blues get to you. I am saying extra good things to the guy upstairs for a speedy recovery. And start the deep breathing to try and bring the blood pressure down - watch the processed foods for a bit, maybe back to bland for a bit. I have some big boxes and lots of packing paper. I'm sure I could jury-rig a bumper car for your chair. It would protect you but you wouldn't be able to get out the door  Annie - wish I had some answer for your restless sleep but I don't. Particularly since you've been this way half your life. I guess you don't fight it, just find something to sidetrack you for a bit until you can sleep again. When you do have to get up in the morning are you groggy and wanting to sleep more? If dogs can't have chocolate, what kind of cupcake does Hella get? Happy birthday to her for managing to hang on another year in spite of needing a personality check. Lots of birthdays this week for people I know. Let see - end of February minus 9 months = end of May. What? People very excited to see summer come in so they get frisky? :carrot:  Ceejay - hope your back is feeling better - have a good visit with the uncles today. Thanks for the tip on the vitamins. Shad - boy you sure are having a bad go at things the last 2 weeks. And you haven't even been beating the students :rollpin: I'm sure there are times like this that make you question why you do what you do. Don't let them get you down. Maybe you can take a short break between this and your next assignment and recharge the batteries. Hope things get better come Monday when you climb back on the hamster wheel. Laura - my former next door neighbor posted pictures of the snow yesterday. It looked quite pretty - and heavy. She said it was mostly gone by the evening because things have been warm lately. Lucky you. We are supposed to get hit Sunday night - are just on the cusp of the band between big snow and some snow. Of course it chooses to snow AFTER the big ski race that is going on right now and clogging our roads with too many people  Hope you have fun at the Oscar party and come up with a fun snack - can you make anything in the theme of one of the nominated movies? I'd make a suggestion but I don't even know what's been nominated and for sure have not seen any of the movies. Did you decide what to do with the gym vs another gym pass? Perhaps I am confused but didn't your office offer some sort of gym thing? Michelle - how did your girls' night out go yesterday? Hope you are feeling better and didn't fall asleep on her  Rest up as much as you can and fight off those bugs that have a death grip on you and DH. Java It was snowing this morning, now the sun came out and the heat is making the house creak something fierce. Sounds like ghosts walking through the house. As I said we are supposed to get a big storm tomorrow night but I have learned from the short time being here that the weather does what it wants to and the forecasters are almost always wrong :dizzy: Truly - you look out the window and whatever it's doing, that's the weather. We are thinking about going out tonight. My other cousin that lives an hour away does karaoke and he is doing a gig at a small local bar up near them. We might go with the nearby cousins just to get out of the house. The last few days I have been dealing with vertigo and nausea. I am sure I have fluid in the ears as I can make it occur just by tipping my head down. I don't do well with nausea - good thing I was never pregnant! I did some cleaning yesterday and had to stop because it was making me ill. Took it easy for the most part - made a nice dinner of baked macaroni and cheese and pan fried walleye but that was about it. I'm hoping I will be able to finish up today as there are some things that are nagging at me to get done. Going to go find some lunch and get busy. Have a good weekend ladies. |
MELLIE...be prepared when you try the tea....Sissy tried the one for nursing momma's and it was so nasty she asked me if she could throw the remaining teabags in the trash. lol....My feelings will not be hurt if you trash it. Just sayin'. People love you Mellie...that is why the doc hates to see you in pain and mistreated by the professionals of that stinkin' hospital.....Let me know if you want me to come there and take care of you for a week or two.
CEEJAY...it very well could be my potassium keeping me awake. That was on the low side and getting script potassium called Klor Con, or something like that. My B12 was perfect. I give myself a B12 shot once a month due to the bariatric surgery. HAPPY....You, missy, may keep the snow and cold weather up your way...blah. It is only 24 days till spring and I am counting on the man upstairs to bring it, on time, with no flubb ups. I am ready to get out into the dirt. Hella B eats chocolate a couple of times a year and M&Ms on occasion. It hasn't hurt her one bit. She loves the choc cupcakes the best. Blowing out the candle is another story...lol And cleaning does make some people sick..refrain till better. CHELLE...hope you and DH are staying in and getting better, snuggling with the furry pawed ones. SHADDIE...maybe stay in bed...then bad stuff cannot cross you path. Geez, I would freak out if my car got towed. I would cry, p*ss and moan to anyone around. You are a brave soul. LAURA...are you all snowed in and snuggling with your BF? I don't know how you handle that snowy weather...I can't stand it and we have really not had that much this year. Get a good book to read. I have been watching Lifetime channel a lot.....it is about all the same, but entertaining enough, I really don't pay that much attention to it. Guess I had better go and post this...Hella B is poking me in the leg with her nose as I sit here and type...me thinks, she thinks, she needs a treat...Look here sister dog...I am not Curtis and giving in to your antics...go lay down. ba hahaha Loves and Hugs...from the sleepless witch of the midwest!! |
Morning all,
Sun was shining first things but now it is a little bit windy and cloudy. Have to keep an eye on the washing flapping away on the line. Still got about two loads to finish and then I need to get onto the cleaning etc. Yesterday I went back to the place I bought my new computer from and the man told me to bring it back and they would send it away and hold it for me when I came back, so today I wander down to the store with the computer appropriately labelled and they took one look at it and decided to exchange it. Lucky I had taken all the important information out of it prior to going down isn't it? Mel - what am I going to do with you. There is a large parcel on the way. It contains a roll of bubble wrap - 6 feet wide by 30 yards. Do you think that will keep you safe for a while? Annie - I am not that brave and yes I did moan very loudly, and swear loudly and tell everyone around me about the dickheads we have who have this power over us. I should get you over here to sort out my house. Ceejay - hope you have a good weekend with the uncles. Laura - weekend has been a lot better thank you. Next time I take the car to the airport, I will check over, under and around about to ensure there is no small notice to be obeyed. Happy - 3fc posted in facebook the other day that their problems have been fixed. I often get the explorer message that the site is temporarily down. Presume they got a bug from somewhere. Hope the vertigo is gone. And yes I will be taking a break soon. Just got to get through the next four or so weeks. I have a weekend break coming up while we are stationed there on go live. If it doesn't rain too much more I will go west to the gemfields and see if I can find some more sapphires and rubies. Okay - I now have to set up the new computer, finish the laundry and ironing. Then I need to sweep and dust. After that I can rest. Where's Annie when I need her. To enliven the feeling of hope. Spring is around the corner http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b118/gunbo1/054.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b118/gunbo1/053.jpg |

Getting ready to go on a plane again. I probably should have stayed here a couple of weekends and gone playing in mud or something, but wanted to get home for one reason or another. Anyway back to the mines today for a week, home at the weekend, then back for another two or three weeks depending on how badly or well they do on go-live. The project wants us all back two weeks after go-live so we can move onto the next company, but Yarrabee have said they will assess the situation and depending on the 'hurt' factor will make a decision then. I just wait for the decision. I don't see me getting off this project at the end of April which is the end of contract date. More like end of May. That puts paid to the Chelsea Flower Show this year.
Okay - gotta get on with it. |
Good Sun-day to all,
Karaoke last night was WAY TOO LOUD. Not my thing, couldn't wait until it was over. And no, I didn't sing either. It can't decide if it's going to snow or not. We were getting dire warnings for today, now it seems like it's petered out. Last night when I went to sleep (or rather early this morning) it was snowing enough to cover everything. Winds came in the night and literally blew it all away this morning - like something huffed and puffed and blew it away. Lazy day today - a bit of clean up, digging through boxes looking for the papers to do the tax return. They are talking about a significant snow on Wednesday (which is how they phrased today 3 days ago) but none the less, I'd better make up my meal plan and get to the store tomorrow just in case. Nothing else going on right now - DH is calling me, gotta run. |
Hello all.
Not doing much of anything right now. Happy- hope your sinuses are better now & the vertigo eased up. Too bad the karaoke was too loud. We heard about a karaoke that's done w/ a live band- I imagine that could be loud. Annie - we didn't get that much snow, but it was the heavy slushy kind. It was warm today so most of it's gone now - yay!! Lol re Hella's cupcake!! Hope u find a solution to your sleep issues!! Ceejay - hope your back is feeling better. Mel - you sound so upbeat in spite of that fall - you must be on some good drugs!! Shad - good they exchanged yor computer!! Really good u were prepared for that!! Safe travels my friend! Hellos to Michelle & Mary. --- I'll post this (from my phone) & get on the computer to finish. Back in a jiffy! |
I'm back. My weekend recap...
I've been rather slothful this weekend. No grocery shopping or cooking. Friday night I met bf one train stop before my usual one and we picked up some fried shrimp from the fish place. They were doing a brisk business, that being the first Friday of Lent. We took it home and ate it along with a Stouffer's mac n cheese entree we split for a side. Saturday morning I went to the circuit class. There were 16 students, and there's normally 16 exercise stations, and since our "instructor" wanted to exercise too, she added a 17th station. It was right next to station #1 and she suggested we do push ups using the railing that goes around the whole equipment area (or we could do anything we want - job in place, etc.) It just so happens that station #1 also works the pectorals, so I got a double dose of pec work during class. Plus it was rather challenging for me after not having done that class in three weeks! Can't recall what I did yesterday afternoon besided eating lunch, watching an episode of Doc Martin I'd recorded last week and walk the dog. Then was dinner and more tv. Today I lazed around in the morning and then sorted laundry and tossed a load in the washer. Then I tried out my new Margaret Richard video, The Spark. It had most of her usual exercises, with some new ones thrown in. I didn't look through the dvd's index or anything before I jumped right in. Right after the warm up, it started off with upper body - pushups! It was a rather short segment, but I didn't do too well because my chest was already sore from yesterday's workout! The remainder of the segments that I did weren't a problem. The dvd went through upper and lower body, and then it began with a 2nd set of exercises for the same body parts (but different exercises), which was a good idea because the individual segments were shorter than she's done in her past shows and dvd's. Because I was sore from yesterday, though, I stopped after the first set of exercises and jumped to the cool down segment, but I can see doing both sets in a single workout. Happy, you asked if I'd figured out what I was going to do for exercise after this session. No, not really...I might just take the Mon/Wed Pilates and then either do at-home workouts with my Margaret Richard & Body Electric dvds and/or go to the gym w/ bf. Bf's gym has a circuit workout area, and I'd like to see that. He said, however, that the cardio portions that alternate with the strenght portions are just step platforms. Unfortunately, the step station (#6 in my classes) is my least favorite, LOL. BTW, yes, our building opened a fitness room and offered tenant employees unlimited use for a 1-time fee of $75. I paid the fee, but quickly confirmed that I do not like trying to fit in a 30 minute cardio workout into my lunch hour - and that's not even eating lunch! By the time I dressed to workout, did my 30 minutes, then showered and dressed, the entire hour was gone. And most of the time I still wasn't cooled down even after I was dressed. Ick. Okay, off to change for the Oscar party. |
Back from Paragould. I had a good time.
I really do not want to go to work tomorrow. Maybe my vacation will get me motivated again. Whew someone is burning wood and smoking up the whole neighbor hood. Shad I love the pictures of the flowers. I'm so ready for Spring. Mel What a loving dr you have!. Do what he says. Annie, Happy,Laura  |
Yikes...what a LONG day....borrowed a truck...picked up furniture (couch , oversized chair and footstool) at Curtis's garage last night...unloaded it in my garage. This morning, drove about an hour east of the house and picked up a barely used, SIMMONS KING SIZE bed that a friend at work could no longer use...FREE. Brought it home. Moved the futon out of the guest bedroom...moved my Queen bed into the guest bedroom...moved the KING bed in my room....loaded the futon, couch, chair and footstool into truck...drove an hour WEST of house to deliver to DS. Drove back, returned truck...waiting on new sheets to dry for king bed. We left the house at 9 this morning and did not stop one time to take a break...got home at 6:08 pm.....lots of driving and lifting, moving, and strain. Probably 4.5 hours on the road total...Came home to wash up sheets, matress covers and put beds together for two beds. Also made a delish dessert for tomorrow. Strawberry angel food layer cake. I am pooooooed.
Have a marvelous night/morning... Love and hugs. |

Good Monday morning everyone -
I sure hope this week brings health, wellness and happiness to us all. I apologize for being too busy to check in. Friday I was busy at work, and then had dinner (no movie) with a friend. The movies that we wanted to see had been replaced in the theaters with others that we weren't interested in, plus I was feeling really weak. But we had a nice dinner. :) Aside from me doing a bit of grocery shopping and laundry on Saturday, DH and I spent the weekend sleeping, and we're still feeling like we could sleep for a month. Poor DH, the short course of meds caused a relapse...and he's still fighting to get back to where he can breathe and has energy. I'm glad the doc has him on this course of meds for a month. Stupid, irresponsible specialist. :tantrum: While we were resting, we did watch a couple movies I checked out from the library..."The Bucket List", which I thought was very good and very well done, and also "Love Actually", which was an adorable romantic comedy - definitely a "feel good" movie. It looks like a lot happened in the few days I was out of it. **************************** Mellie - OMG! I can't believe that fall! How scary that you were stuck there for so long! Sending you much love and gentle virtual healing hugs.  I can totally understand your doctor being so visibly upset, and also his distrust of the hospital. How completely irresponsible for them to send you home with pneumonia, nodes and fluid in your lungs. Be careful cleaning your wound, and I hope you're able to get in touch with the gov't office today. :crossed:  Annie - Thanks for all your concern. DH and I will get better...although during his long and severe coughing fit last night, I was really tempted to take him to the hospital. He's got a doc appointment this afternoon with the good doc. We'll see what he says. I hope you're able to sleep more and 3 hours per night doesn't become the norm. Happy Belated Birthday to Hella Bella! Laura - We got about 5" of the heavy wet snow on Thursday night/Friday am when they predicted that we'd get 1"-2". I was able to get out to meet my friend Friday afternoon, and do my errands on Saturday...and then Mother Nature was kind enough to melt the snow yesterday. They're predicting more precipitation coming this week...but hopefully it will be rain and not snow. Hope you had a nice time at the Oscars party. Did you see most of the nominated movies? I slept right through the Oscars...as I did just about everything else on TV this weekend. Shad - OMG! What a frassin' nightmare weekend you had! Sounds like those reserved parking spots and the poor signage are a revenue generating scam. I'm glad you were able to exchange your brand new computer, and I hope this replacement doesn't have any gremlins. I wish I were there with you when you go to the gemfields. Do you have to pay to look for the sapphires and rubies? Or pay based on how many you take with you? Thanks for the lovely flower photos!! I can't wait for spring!! Ceejay - Good on ya' for exercising, but don't overdo it, especially when it comes to back pain. Happy - You're so right about the weather forecasts...I don't trust 'em more than a day in advance. And even the "same day" forecasts can be quite wrong. I hope the vertigo and nausea have eased up. Bummer that karaoke was really loud. Love and hugs to all, |
Morning all.
Ceejay - Glad you enjoyed your time in Paragould. Having something like an upcoming vacation to look forward to definitely helps make work bearable! :) Oh, and thank you for reminding me - I forgot to thank Shad for posting those photos - they are gorgeous, right, and just what we need after our months of winter. Shad - Thanks for posting those pics! So lovely! Hope you had a good Monday. Annie - OMG, that's a lot of moving and driving!! :faint: And then you made dessert! You are amazing girl!! Mel - Hope the appt with the nurse went well and you are moving along with your recovery - or shall I say - your DOUBLE recovery. BTW, your sleep is definitely more important than the Oscar winners, LOL. Besides you can see all the highlights on the news and other shows today if you so choose. "Hey" to all my other Worldlie friends. --- Last night was fun. I'd decided I didn't want to prepare anything (more slothfulness) for the Oscars party, so on Saturday bf and I went to a popcorn shop one town over and I bought a big bag of cheddar popcorn (and what a bargain because we had a buy one, get one free coupon). With all the food at the party, it was nice that people actually ate a good amount of it, although I still went home with a good amount of it. The bad news is that bf doesn't like this popcorn as well as the Rural Route 1 brand, which BTW is out of WI and which he discovered when we bought some from the boy scouts a few years ago. So this is not a good thing for me to have all this popcorn around. Bf had a friend over last night and the friend ate quite a bit of the other bag, but there's still a lot left... I might have to bring it to work or maybe give it to a neighbor. So...I won the "most correct picks" - again. :carrot: I'm very surprised how well I did (19 out of 24 categories correct), because really, I was just guessing on all those "technical" awards for sound editing, sound design, etc. as well as the documentaries and short films, blah, blah, blah. Anyway, I was sort of embarassed because I'm the least competitive person around and now I've won about 3 times, LOL. But still - I'll snap a photo of my trophy to post here. :D I wish I could have taken today off work, but I didn't want to blow a vacation day on ostensibly sleeping in after a late night. About 95% of the time I do NOT sleep in, cannot sleep in. In fact, I have finally realized that the furnace kicking in at about 5 am is what has been waking me up early lately. Much as I hate this kind of thing, I will try and reprogram the :censored: thermostat. Anyway, it's good I didn't call in sick because the admin did that - her daughter is sick. I'm sore today from Saturday and Sunday's workout. Bf suggested working out at his gym tonight, so we'll see about that. Enough of this, let me see if anyone snuck in during my rambles. |
