Default Finally

I have an eye dr. appt. this afternoon. My regular eye doctor, who would no doubt call me back if he said he would (and he's not bad looking either, although this is not that useful a feature for an eye doctor, because most of the time I am there, my vision is in that un-corrected state. ) So wish me luck.

Bagz, are you quoting C. temperatures or F.? I was just looking at a conversion thingie, and was reminded that 40 below is the same in both! So we have that in common, eh? Today it's a balmy 22 deg. F, which is still below zero in Centrigrade land.

Aw come on, Lush, shovel your car out one time. It's fun! No really, lots of fun!

I was very tempted to make an extremely off-color remark about this
Quote:
I slept ina tee shirt and undies and this big, inflated, shinny thing was sticking out in the gap.
but I have to get ready to go to my appointment instead...

big inflated shiny things can be purchased online and sent in to your home in a nondescript brown paper wrapping.{at your leisure.}

Are you thinking of an "instant date" for me? Do I have to inflate them myself?

Makes me ill just thinking about it. Yesterday ds6 asked me how come the penguins don't fall off.

You're insulting Lush's delicate sensibilities with all this talk about shiny inflated things. Please stop at once - NOT. Too funny. We need to start the Get A Real Man for Peaches campaign again. Have you made your list yet, darling? I'm scouting the streets for eligible bachelors. All the better if they can't speak English, huh? Then you'd always be right.

So belly fat is ok? I thought it reached in and strangled all your important internal organs. Mine is still a pre-peri-menopot. Wonder how big it will be when I finally get there? I just realized I'll be 50 in 10 years and 3 months.

I think it's just one guy who thinks the Chinese landed in NJ. He wrote a book and people are actually buying it. Everyone else is sticking with the old theory.

And then I heard that a bunch of English farmers are moving from Cheshire to South Dakota to start up dairy farms. They are recruiting people like crazy from Europe and Canada. Selling points were low crime rate, no income tax and a perfect climate...for cows! They then showed a picture of a car buried under 6 feet of snow.

Thumbs down

You see that message icon? ? That's me this afternoon. Half blind, actually. Drops in the eyes, fun with bright lights. You could say skewered by bright lights. Eye doctor even took cool computer generated pictures of the inside of my eye. He made a relief map of 2 square millimeters of the inside of my retina. Isn't that impressive? I have a tiny little lesion on my retina. Not a damn thing anyone can or needs to do about it. He's sending me to a Retina Specialist anyway, just in case. However most likely they will just have to keep an EYE on it every 6 months or so and I will have a little shadow off the edge of my vision forever. Lucky me.

Who knew there was such a thing as a Retina Specialist? "What do you want to be when you grow up, little girl?" "I wanna be a Wetina Speshoowist!"

I came home and DH said "Well?" and I said "I have 10 days to live" and he laughed. Is that a bad sign?

We spent the rest of the afternoon jabbering about his pet project The Myth of ERISA or How to Figure Out If You've Been Screwed Out of Your Pension. We always talk a lot more when DD is gone (she went skiing and condo-ing with her friend's family until tomorrow). Mostly we talk about what interests DH. Please note this, Peaches: if you're lucky and find some guy who is decent and responsible and nice to you, he will still not be the slightest bit interested in what you are interested in. This will intermittently piss you off and make you think you were better off single. C'est la vie. Other times you will not care that all you do is talk about what he likes, because you have taken Sinus Medicine and are a little whirly anyway. La De Dah.

Turns out it wasn't 22 deg out today; my thermometer is in the sunshine and it was reading high. It was really only 6 deg. out, which is -14 C.

Gotta go. I'm getting loopier by the minute.

Wabbit, that movie would be just as good on your couch, if you don't mind waiting.

By accident I ended up in another forum where women are using their actual pictures for avatars. I was quite taken aback. This place could be called AWholeBunchaGoodLookinBabes.

I plan to be home Thursday. Get ready to post. I know how you are. I know who you are. I could come through the snow and get you. I just wouldn't want to get my feet cold.

Default Where? Where?

A weight loss site? Like those pictures you tapes on the fridge to stop yourself from eating?

I will definitely post on Thursday. Today is only Tuesday, isn't it? I have to tutor a kid this afternoon and translate an article. Did you know that you can flush online translators and dictionaries right down the toilet because they *never* have the word you're looking for? Never. I guess I'll just make something up.

Kiwi!!!!!! Good news about your eye. I knew we weren't going to get rid of you that easy! So everyone who has those spots has little holes in the retina, or is that just in your case? I haven't been to the eye doctor in ages because I hate those drops so much.

Snow bunnies please report in for posting duty. I just have a light dusting of frost on my car.

Those chocolate coated puffed rice thingies have no calories, right?

Kiwi I got the book. It didn't show up as a "caught" book when I made the journal entry. I'm curious if you get an email notification about it.

Bagz, what is the calorie count on those peeps and do they contain alcohol?

Not necessarily. Apparently they are common, but there are other reasons for new spots too. Scary stuff like detached retinas and so on. Or they could be nothing.

Of course--nothing filled with air has calories. And since those are crunchy, they require energy to eat, so they will make you lose weight!! Or lose weight, if you prefer.

YES! YAY! yes, I got a notification. It's my first. I'm so proud. Hope you enjoy it. I also got an email from Swappingtons saying I had feedback -- I sent a postcard to a guy in Athens, GA. I got 1 point.

Glad your eyes are okay too, Wabbit. Sounds like a pain to keep going back, but it's in a good cause. I have an appointment with the retinal specialist on Friday. How exciting. More lights, more drops. Sugar, get thee hence to an eye doctor. They make 'em cuter these days. I swear. Mine has gone all silverhaired (he's my age) and is very nice.

It's only Wednesday, Peachers. Why are you home and stressed?

It has warmed up a bit here. In the high 20s F! Looks like snow, though. It snowed yesterday while we were driving to and from the basketball game in the Big City. Our teams lost. Back to back games. That sukt. But we had the best band.
