Nothing new here, s.o.s.d.d. Dinner with Curtis last night then to bed. Tonight is my 1 time a month to work at CVS for September. Kind of looking forward to it. I am taking next week off of work as my hours are getting too close to 160 hours, which stop accumulating at 160, and do not want to work for no vacay days....Curtis and I are going the the dunes on Lake Michigan for labor day weekend. His idea and I can't wait. Should be fun.

Annie - The Dunes sounds fun. BF and I went a couple years back, just for a day trip. Good exercise if you're climbing up and down them!

Nothing much to report again. Skipped exercise. No dog walk as bf had already taken doggy before I got home. This is a mild cold and I shouldn't complain, but the throat congestion - leading to frequent throat-clearing - is getting old. I have some Mucinex with me. Might take it.

We still haven't put together our new tv stand, but the progress is that the boxes have now been moved from the garage to the house.

Tonight will be a Freemotion Circuit class.

Hi everyone -

Yippee Skippy! I am in a freakin' GREAT mood today! Don't know if it's because I can finally breathe without too much coughing, or because my energy is finally starting to come back (slowly), or because I'm off tomorrow...making for a lovely 4 day weekend! I'm leaving work in a bit over 2 hours to go to physical therapy, and then not back until Tuesday!! Not as good as Annie's vacay next week, but I'm happy.

Tomorrow, I have to take Mischief in for another blood test. Hopefully, the new dosage of medicine (which was increased 4 weeks ago) is enough to stabilize her pulmonary hypertension and red blood cell count.

I will be working on websites off and on this evening (if I'm not too tired), tomorrow and maybe Saturday. DH will be building a new planter ring around our big tree in the front yard. Then on Sunday and Monday, we're going to find something fun to do. There's lots of fun festivals, etc. going on for this last official weekend of summer (though I still count next weekend as still summer since next weekend is my birthday weekend).

DH had a sore throat yesterday and is hoping he's not going to relapse. If he starts to feel worse, he's going straight to the doc and also resting this weekend. I hope we're both getting over the crud...we've missed too much summer being sick.

Annie - How was lunch with Curtis yesterday? I'm so happy for you taking vacation next week! The dunes on Lake Michigan! That sounds like a blast! What city are they in/near? DH and I want to go to the Michigan side of the Lake one of these years. The beaches are supposed to be gorgeous and we can take the car ferry from Milwaukee.

Laura - When do you leave for vacay? Don't spend any time worrying...all the stuff will get done. Just savor the anticipation of your trip!! I hope the Mucinex helps the throat congestion. I'm still clearing my throat a lot too...but it's better than coughing up a lung, which I have been doing. Glad to hear you're making "progress" on the tv stand. Have fun at Freemotion Circuit class! I can't wait 'till I feel well enough to get back to the gym...should be next week for sure.

Mellie - I'm so glad you're opting for A/C and rest rather than BBQ. Good for you for taking the day off. We're having warm muggy weather...which won't be good for me taking Mischief to the vet - as her blood levels can be affected if she gets overheated.

SONFI it is. Things are looking better already

Sorry to be missing. DH was hospitalized on Monday. It was just too much and he needed help. They changed his meds around, he is doing better, we hope he can come home tomorrow. I've learned alot this week - a week I'd never repeat again for all the money in the world.

Thanks for setting up the new thread Shad - glad to hear you made it to the mine ok.

I can't stay - have to go get cleaned up and go for my one hour visit with my sweetie. Will be back later.

Morning all,
Working from home today so I have some time to do other things. It will be good to be able to relax, not have to wear boots and do some easy things. The photos below are from a tour of the mine that we took yesterday. You can see the stripes of coal in the face. The hill over to the right of the photo is practically made of coal and there is another open cut mine beyond that. They will be beginning an underground mine in the next couple of years and that should have a twenty year lifespan.



The second photo is of the PM team - yep thats me on the end in the yellow shirt - and we are standing next to the biggest digger I have ever been close too. It had stripped a track and the guys were out there working on it. Some stats on it. The bucket holds about 800 tonnes of coal. Each of those links in the track weighs in at 960kg. The fuel tank holds 40000litres of diesel fuel and the hydraulics tank holds 7000l of hydraulic fluid, however the hydraulic hoses which suck up the hydraulics fluid hold around another 7000 litres and should one of those pipes burst under pressure, there would be an environmental disaster within 30 seconds. There are several kilometres of hydraulic hosing on the thing. It has two 16v something or other engines (forget the terminology here). The man from Liebherr (monster makers) came tootling out to site while we were there and gave the monster a hug and said 'isn't she just gorgeous. Talk about loving your job!



Happy, I do hope that DH is feeling better. And I hope he will take this as a very big warning about what might happen if he or the pair of you keep sweating the small stuff. Just have a think about what is more important - shifting house or your life? Take it easy and give him a big hug from me.

I'd better S.O. and get some work done today. I need to do some shopping for the weekend as well. Have a fun day and I will get back with personals when I see what is happening during the day.

Happy - I'm so sorry DH landed in the hospital - must have been bad, for him to get there and for him to still be there today. Please send him my get well wishes. Please, please, take time out for adequate rest, relaxation and de-stressing. I wish I had the actual cartoon, but it's the words that make you think: Doctor to patient: "Do you want to exercise for an hour a day or be dead 24 hours a day?" When you put it like that....

I'm in the autumn mode as well. It's turned hot again. ugh. I'm also ready for Thanksgiving.

My sister's and I have set a date for our sister's retreat which will be the first week in October. Found out that my aunt and uncle are taking the same week. We're all going to Branson. My niece has started a new show in Silver Dollar city that we will more than likely go see.
Had a fun time at sis's. Got to play with the grandbaby on Tuesday. I've ended up with a muscle strain from picking her up. She weigh's 22 pounds. She's very active.
Drove home today. It's really good to be back.

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, NOT FILLING IN AGAIN.
I AM OFF TO BREAKFAST NOW AND MORE RESTING.
I AM SO GLAD IT'S A HOLIDAY WEEKEND.
