I think the site's been slow lately, but I'm starting to think everything having to do with my computer is rather slow, so I don't have the proper perspective...

Mel - I love "his royal prick-ness" hahaha. Thank you for your advice. I appreciate it!!

Well, in the interest of being a bit more discreet and not getting into trouble at work, I'm going to try and do my posting from my own electronic devices - either my cell phone (at lunchtime or on the train) or the computer at home, so we'll see how that works out. More typos for sure if I'm doing posts on my phone!! But probably shorter posts too, so it's not all bad!

Well, hope the smilies don't slow the site down even more, LOL. TTFN!

Morning all,
Back home again for the weekend and I am working from home today (hopefully if the VPN works).
Yesterday, they blasted another bit of good earth and it shook, rattled and rolled everything. Bought back some earthquake memories I can tell you. It would appear that not all of the blokes are used to sitting still on chairs in the upstairs training room either when they blast since several of them shot out of their chairs. Funny that - we all knew the blast was coming. Just none of us were prepared for it.

Annie - what a ray of sunshine you are right now. I feel so happy for you. It seems like our reverse psychology might be working.

Happy - you sound better too. Hope it lasts - the painters will try it to the nth degree I can tell you. Keep a sharp eye on them. Some of them don't have a clue as to what sandpaper is or is used for. And watch for the paint drips and the human drips!!!

Laura - how awful to find private comments on your network archives. It seems that nothing is sacred these days. His Royal prickiness (aka HRP) deserves a good bollocking over that.

Ceejay - I agree, we should all descend on Annies place for dinner. Tell you what, lets pick random ingredients and see what she can make with them. I own Masterchef contestant.

Michelle - rest, recover, rest, recover, rest, recover - get the message????

Mel - No they are not handing out feet anymore otherwise I would ask for a pair of elegant, slim perfectly formed feet - not a replacement of the wide flat paddles I have at this time. Still they are better than the alternative - no feet!

I'd better go check out this VPN and get on with the Planners course which is due to start next week. Talk about flying by the seat of your pants. It's a problem!!!!!

I've had a busy day. Went to Jonesboro to get my b12. Then took my bf out to lunch for her birthday this week. L called from work to ask me to work tomorrow so she could go pick up her new Camaro. She did say that they got the filter fixed. Yipee.

I really got peeved at my neighbor today. She accused the Mayor of stealing money to build a new 2 million dollar home in Jonesboro. If he's doing that, he should be put in jail for embezzling. She's only repeating hear say. I can't help it is she can't pay her bills. Go to work. Sorry for the rant.

Mel
So the alarm guys were a no show. Hum, makes me wonder if they were even contacted. I'm in agreement with the new nick name. I've been watching the weather map and you guy's are getting a lot of rain. Wish you would share.

shad
I bet Annie could come up with a good concoction from left overs. I bet that blast was a little unnerving.

Happy
I am so glad it wasn't the swimming pool acting up. Some times it pays to have things done.

Annie
I agree with Shad that you seem to be in a happy place right now. Don't forget to take your meds.

Michelle
Don't you love all these reports. Schedule yourself another day off for next week.

More later. Computer time is gone.

Happy Birthday Michelle

Hope you have a very happy birthday weekend Michelle.

I can't post right now - we decided at the last minute to have the painters do the upstairs bedroom, baths and hallway. So we are scurrying to move things out of the way. I'll be back when they get settled in.

Good morning all.

Happy Birthday Michelle!! Have a lovely day.

Shad - Wow, the blast must have been something. And to think the guys that are accustomed to them are so startled too... Do the make an announcement or sound shorn before the blast? Good luck w/ the VPN today. Oh, the bigwigs insult wasn't on the computer, it was just that incident on the elevator I mentioned last week.

Ceejay- Sounds like envy on your neighbor's part. Not attractive, and it can be very hurtful to spread things like that.

Mel - Hope the copier thing goes smoothly & you have a fab Friday!

Happy- hope you're all set for the painting now. Nice to have someone else do it, except the need to watch them Like a hawk! What a tradeoff.

Ttfn, train is in the station!

Aww, thanks everyone for the birthday wishes...I wish I didn't have to work all day and all night (until 10 pm or so). But that's okay. We have a few fun things lined up for the weekend. On Saturday if my back is doing ok, I will be taking my dog on a Walkathon to benefit our local humane society. Then Saturday night, we'll be going out to dinner (me and DH not me and my doggie). Sunday is still up in the air...but I'll find something fun to do.

Anyway, I'm swamped with work.

Thanks again for the sweet birthday wishes! I love you all, my dear friends!!

Much love and many hugs,

Hapyy birthday Michelle
Sorry you are having to work late. The marathon is a great idea.

Laura
I know for a fact that my neighbor didn't pay her light bill in july because it doubled in August. She showed me her bill. She told me that she only paid half of it in August. She's a bunch of hot air. I told her I was going to ask him about it. She said don't mention my name I don't want my light bill to go up. She's still upset at the moment at me for not letting her clean my house, but it was about to break me financially and I told her that. To me she showed out in front of my gf. And she's supposed to be "ordained" as a minister on Sunday.

Annie
Yum on the chili. Is your room mate helping you with the dishes?

Happy
So glad that you are having the painters do some more rooms. That's less stress for you and DH.

I'm at work today collecting some easy overtime.

Ceejay....roommate is a cleaning fanatic like me...we kind of fight over who is going to clean what. hahaha Don't worry about your neighbor and her making money off of you doing your cleaning. It all has to do with benefitting YOU and what is good for YOU.

Chelle...you deserve so much.....good for you on dinner out with DH...altho doggies would not mind attending the event...lol. Cause they are "OUR" people too, you know!.... Sunday....relax...stay home...rent some movies...love on your DH and Doggies and pop some corn!! xoxoxoxo

Going out with the girls tonight. Curtis kind of upset me last night, so he is staying home and I am with my girls...Nothing real serious but enough to make me go and have fun with the girls.......I just don't know...I am unhappy by myself, but cannot adjust to having someone up my b*tt all the time...what the h*ll is wrong with me ladies? Seriously...I need mental help.

Morning all,

Weekend is here and I am out and about early as per usual. DS2 has flu and is obviously unwell since he opted out of work on Thursday and spent Friday asleep on the couch and is religiously taking the tablets the doctor prescribed (there's a first) and today he got up to take a shower and is now back in bed exhausted. I've just taken him a cup of tea. He is sitting up and playing phone scrabble with his cousin - who is winning and that is getting him p*ssed.

The blast is announced by bulletin board. It is predetermined and I get emails regarding it because sometimes we have to evacuate the buildings and go down the road when they do a double detonation. So yes we all know about it. Still comes as a bit of a shock though since I'm usually busy working with the guys or writing doco and wrapped in my own work.

I didn't get to finish the work I was doing at home yesterday. Went down and got a haircut and some groceries to see us through the weekend and then watched the Rugby World Cup opening ceremony in Auckland (lots of Maori folklore legend stuff and loads of fireworks. The city looked spectacular. Then of course we had to have dinner (eggs benedict with spinach) and watch the opening game, which thankfully my lot won. If any one is interested the USA will play Ireland in New Plymouth at 6.00pm our time on 11th September. I do realise you will have other things going on that day.

Annie - Poor little Annie, all mixed up. I would suggest you have a word with C. You are facing a whole raft of changes in your life right now and you need to keep people you care about in the loop. First you are excited about the prospect of grandparenthood, then you are dealing with Sissy's hormones. Second you have become a landlady and settling in with a new roomie is always difficult as you skirt around the bits that annoy and embrace the bits that you enjoy and you have to get used to someone on a different timetable from you while you are on vacation and generally someone invading your house after years of being alone. Then there is the excitement of a new love life. Yes it will get annoying to have someone who may want to be 'joined at the hip' so to speak. So I am not going to tell you what to do, rather what I might do in your shoes. First I might set some limits to the time the lad and I have together so I am still able to be relatively independent and have time to hang with my friends and family. Secondly I would be trying to staying relatively independent from the boarder although there is nothing wrong with time together, a meal together or a jaunt to the local is all good I would still be the person to whom she relies on to provide her with the basic necessities for which she pays. There alone is a minefield of expectations.
Take it easy and slowly (hard for you I know).

Laura, sorry I must have mixed the messages from HRPrick. I will read things better tomorrow I see you are using the phone to send posts now. I am so slow with that thing that I would never be able to get a post in. You would only get 2 words per day. My phone and I are not good friends. Generally speaking I hate phones anyway and can't wait to get off the darn thing.

Michelle - happy birthday to you. Enjoy your day and night and weekend. I left a message on facebook for you yesterday - we are 15 hours ahead of you and facebook always tells me about TODAYS birthdays.

Happy - happy painting. You must be tired of the smell by now and of having people invade your house. Hope they are using lo odour stuff or you will be sleeping downstairs or outside tonight.

Ceejay - hope work goes smoothly for you today. That neighbour of yours is a piece of work isn't she. What with her and the girls you don't have a great neighbourhood going there.

Mel - what would I do without you to remind me of the important things in life. I caught the date on facebook as you might have read and gave Michelle and early birthday serve.

Funnily enough I am not having any troubles with the site right now, but then I don't get the ads that you lot do. Not to say that I don't get ads, I do, but they don't seem to affect anything.
Anyway, I better go get some washing out. The sun has decided to shine today and the wind is blowing even if it is a cold wind - so I should get my stuff done and back in the bag for next week. Such is life.

See ya
