I've had a busy day. The doctor's appointment went fine. Since the ENT was doing surgery this morning I saw the Nurse Practioner. She reminded me a lot of the ENT. So I know she's been in training. I had a very good exam. I've been diagnosed with another ear infection and a sinus infection. They want to schedule a CT scan for next week. I haven't heard back from that today. She gave me steroids and leviquan. I picked up the steroids today at the pharmacy but my insurance will not pay for the leviquan. I'll have to wait until the ent/nurse practioner calls in something else.
I also stopped by the uncles to pick up my computer. Michelle I'm glad you are feeling more at ease and decided to go with calorie counting and using the diet coach. That's basically what i need to do especially with the coach. Mel I decided to wait on the otc meds until I went to the ENT. Once the infection is cleared up I can do something else. I'll let you know. I've used the AllegraD before and it was good. Hope you get out of your slump soon. Get outside and get some sunshine. Happy I'm really excited for you for your move to the Northern. How did the dentist appointment go? Laura, Annie, and Ellen  |

Happy Friday ladies -
I am SOOOO thrilled it's Friday. I'm working from home. The doggies are out in the yard exploring everything that has been covered by snow for the last 4 months! It's only going to get up to the upper 40s today, not the low 60s of yesterday, but upper 40s still feels great when the sun is out. In fact the only downside to no snow is that we are now in the "mud" season, as I'm sure Annie and Laura can attest to...little muddy doggy footprints tracked in every time we bring them in from outside. I did well with my calories yesterday, just a smidge over 1,400. At least there was no evening snacking for me. I was SO tired when I got home from work, that I tried to take a nap...but the doggies wouldn't let me sleep. So after dinner, I fell right to sleep while watching TV. I slept from 6:30 last night until 5:30 this morning! It felt GREAT!! I slept so soundly!! And I didn't even wake up with a stiff back like I sometimes get from sleeping so long. I have a bit of a migraine, but I chalk that up to sleeping so long that I got a little dehydrated. So I'm drinking extra water this morning, and I should be good to go in an hour or two. I'm going to WalMart on my lunch hour to pick up prescriptions and a few groceries. I also have to go to the library to get more diabetic cookbooks. I figure those will be healthy recipes with all the nutritional info. :) I want to thank you all again for your support and advice. Shad - I'm really glad you're enjoying the job. It makes such a difference when you have a good team! I'm going to be doing some meal planning today/this weekend while I'm making out my grocery list. The thought of your homegrown tomatoes is making my mouth water. I'll have to wait 'till June or July for the tomatoes I plant to be ready for harvest. Ceejay - I'm glad the doctor appointment went well. Bummer that your insurance won't cover leviquan. I've heard that is very good for sinus infections. I hope the insurance and the doc can come up with an antibiotic that works as well. Glad that you picked up your computer from your uncles. Mel - I hope you enjoy a nice quiet day today. Maybe you'll see some more sunshine this weekend so you can get out for a ride. :sunny: I checked out a lot of diet plan books from the library and went into info overload as well. But I'm finding that Bob Harper's "Are You Ready" diet, and the Diabetes DTour diet, along with others, seem to be saying the same things...lean protein, whole grains, veggies, fruits, low-fat/non-fat dairy, and healthy fats. I hope you have a wonderful day and a great weekend, and that you get to enjoy some relaxing time and some sunshine! I suppose I should get some work done. A big  and  to all! Love and big hugs, |
Happy Friday and boy am I glad....Have my boob smoosh this afternoon at 2 pm, then free the rest of the day/weekend....NO WORK....
Chelle...so glad you are feeling a bit better, rested, and a good mood....excellent. We got up to 75 yesterday, today's high is 65. I will take that too! MELLIE...takin' it easy the rest of the weekend is a great thing for you to do. Do not answer phones or doors and hang the sign out... Shaddie...have a marvy weekend, and if you can't have fun at work, why bother...glad you are actually enjoying the bunk. Ceejay...hope you have a speedy recovery....remember April is no more sickness in the Worldie world.... Laura...what cha got goin' on this weekend?? Happy....are you still consumed with thoughts of the new house? I would be. Ellen...you working this weekend? Baby boy soldier and 2 of his buddies are coming in tonite to go with to watch my bro's band. Didn't tell bro, so he will be surprised. His two buddies practically lived at my house while growing up, it will be good to see them as it has probably been 4 years. Going to Bed Bath and Beyond before boob smoosh to get a "bed in a bag" ensemble for the spare room...i.e. sissy old room. They are on the clearance shelf for 39 bucks and I have a 20% off coupon. EXCITED!! I made spinach lasagna rolls last night to get ready for the troops coming tonight. Those boys eat like horses. Also made a delish tomato salad. Not much else going on...have a great weekend. Love and hugs |
Annie - Good luck with the boob squish, and I hope you have a WONDERFUL weekend! Enjoy the great weather!! Sounds like you'll have a great time with your son and his friends at your brother's gig! Is your daughter going too? I wish I could see the look on your brother's face when he sees your son! What a great surprise! Have you posted the recipe for the spinach lasagna rolls? They sound delicious!

For some reason I'm not in a talkative mood today.
Have a good day. |
Hi all,
I'm going to have to catch up tonight. Get outside and take a sniff of fresh air if you can - I think it's fairly nice for all of us outside today. |
Annie - Thanks for the recipe! Have fun tonight!
Ceejay - I hope everything's okay. Hugs to you, my friend! Happy - I ran errands at lunch in shorts and a t-shirt. It was a bit cool...high 40s...but since I'm working from home today and that's what I'm wearing...I was too lazy to change. Enjoy the fresh air! |
TGIF. Day's gotten away from me.
Shad - Glad you're a happy camper at work in spite of it all. Mmmm, homegrown tomatoes. Reminds me, I need to get out and buy some veg seeds for my garden if I'm gonna do seedlings this season. I want to do tomatoes, green beans, cilantro & basil. I really should try some lettuces or maybe spinach??? I think it just might work - we've got Coal around to keep the rabbits at bay. Ceejay - Sorry to hear you've got another sinus/ear infection!! :( Hope the meds knock it out quickly. I bet you're glad to have your computer back with you. :) Mel - Hope you're feeling more "right" today. Enjoy the sun while you have it!! :sunny: Michelle - Sounds like now that you're feeling better your motivation is coming back, and that keeping it simple is the route you're taking. I don't usually research diets, but I'm sure the good (i.e., sensible) ones all propose fresh produce, lean proteins, whole grains and avoiding bad fats & sweets and the refined/processed crap. Wow, you got a lot of sleep last night - and I'm sure your body is thanking you for it today!! :D :D Brrr, not shorts weather for me! Annie - Hope the mammo is going smoothly and not too painful. Enjoy your weekend. Sounds like a wonderful plan, and chock full of family time! Have fun. Mmmm, lasagna. :hungry: Hellos to Happy & Ellen! Circuit class was good yesterday - and sweaty. Didn't help that I forgot my towel and water, but I survived. Tomorrow I have a hair appt in the AM and then lunch w/ some HS friends in the afternoon. Should be fun. :) Gonna try and ignore my lazy Sunday morning tendencies and go to an exercise class - I'm trying for 3 cardio per week. Otherwise, no other firm plans. I want to finish sewing my convertible mittens. I would, however, be perfectly content to not have to wear them until December!!! As usual there's laundry and house cleaning and grocery shopping to do. And of course walks with my doggy. Oh yeah, Michelle, I'm very familiar w/ mud season! Paw-wiping towels ready and waiting. :D Everyone enjoy their weekend! :flow1: :flow1: :flow1: :flow1: :flow1: :flow1: :flow1: |
Oh, forgot to mention that I still had two days left of vacation carried over from last year and had committed to using it all by the end of the first calendar quarter, so I've scheduled vacation the next two Mondays. 3-day weekend coming up! :carrot:
|
Laura - :bravo: for all the exercising!! I'm seeing my physical therapist next week, and I'm hoping to get guidelines as to what I can do at the gym. I've also checked out some TBL workout videos, one of them even has 10 minute workouts...just the thing for me right now. Sounds like very nice weekend plans...and even better that you have Monday off! Enjoy!!!
|
Laura - enjoy that 3 day weekend!!!! :yay:
Michelle - have you heard anything further from Redballoon? Or you Shad? |
Michelle
Wow, shorts and a T shirt. I quit wearing shorts years ago due to the vericose veins. But I'm in short sleeves. I'm loving the warmth. happy The fresh air does one good. Makes you feel energized. I'm loving it. Laura I wish I had the space for a small garden. However the squirrel's and rabbits would eat every thing. Mel Did you get the office work completed and back to resting? Annie Enjoy your night out. We all need those. Shad and Ellen didn't go back to read all the posts. Hope you have had a good day. I've been working in the closet today. Pulling down all the winter clothes and pulling out the Summer and Spring clothes. Also paid some bills. |
