Happy New Year shorties!!! I'll be the first to admit I fell off the wagon big time over the Christmas/New Years vacation. I have no excuse, the fault is my own. I have no idea what I weigh but I do know I gained weight back. Today is a new day of a new year. I went food shopping yesterday and bought lots of veggies and grilled up a ton of chicken for the week. Low fat snacks, water, etc. I'm not embarrassed bout the weight gain but know how crappy and tired I feel from it and its not a good feeling. So game on! I'm back on the wagon :) Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I still would love to hit my original 30lbs by Memorial Day, but will start small with a mini goal and shoot for 10lbs by Valentines Day. HAPPY NEW YEAR! |

i'm 142 now..trying to get to 137 by the end of the month and 135 by valentines. Starting off this week good so far...i've eaten good all day but i gotta say..im craving a damn cookie. I'm going to try to stay off sugar at least for these 5 days mon-fri. |
I fell off the wagon around Thanksgiving. I've gained about 3lbs since then. I don't think that is terrible. I have been doing much better the last couple days. I start a new job on Monday so today I went three my closet to get rid of clothes that no longer fit. Hopefully that will help keep me on track as well.

Hi I am a newbie to this but my doctors round me off to 5'! I am dieting with
Herbal Magic for the 4th time. How are members getting there weight loss tickers up in their threads? My weight hit home on Christmas Day when our whole family went Curling and I was the only one sweating and everyone else was wearing their coats! Man I felt so embarrased! |
actually ignore my previous post because my coworker just handed me a box a jujubees..my ultimate weekness..even though they are fat free they still have sugar which i was trying to avoid :-(

Hello everyone... another shortie here! I round off my height to 5'1 when checking for BMI and stuff... I'm just bitter about that 1/4" that never came so I could be a flat 5'2 >.< Is anyone calorie counting here? I'm quite good with sticking to diets and eating within range even during the holidays. My problem is I'm too lazy to exercise! And this week, it's raining so I have an excuse not to go jogging -.- |
I did good yesterday. Ate 1480 calories and did 30 treadmill and 100 crunches on the ball. Tonight is Zumba :)
Brokengently.....I'm using sparkpeople.com. its so easy just add what you eat and how much and it does the calorie count for you. I'm determined too...I have so many things I want to wear but can't and I'm dying to surprise my bf with a cute fancy little lingerie number ;) |

Is this the only place for the short AND heavy? If so thank goodness for it! Im new here and just trying to fit in. Hiding extra weight is impossible when youre short. Thats one thing others cant understand. Anywho...hoping to get and give support. Trying to count calories. Any free suggestions.? Thanks ;)

Hello Shorties! 5'0 here. Love this thread because all us smaller girls have a hard time with weight. 20lbs turns into "So when are you due?" LOL
I also had a stuff-face-athon as i called it on another post over the holidays. I felt crappy and tired and STARVING trying to get back into the swing of things...but back on track and motivated! |
JennieGrl - I use Sparkpeople, too! My range is 1200-1550 calories/day. I like the daily summary... last night I was at 1261 calories but I failed to meet my fats and protein requirements. But for once, my sodium was within limit!

I'm searching for a DVD workout to do since I finished 30 Day Shred... Welcome worktobedone00! You are in the right place. Yes it's harder for us shorties to hide the weight. I started at 189lbs. When I got to 180, people have noticed I've lost weight. By 170, I got compliments on my progress. It just gets better from then. So there's something to look forward to! My first step was just introducing vegetables and fruits to my diet and cutting back on fast/junk food. Small changes at first... take it slow. This is my 16th month and I'm guessing I'll be needing another 16 months (or more!) to get near my goal weight. WeightForMe - lol at the pregnancy question! I'm a pear so 20lbs go straight to my thighs... awful. Glad to see you back on the wagon :) Good luck! |

I got the pregnancy question once. i wanted to cry. brokengently, my calorie count is the same range. I don't worry too much bout the protein, sodium n such. I'm sooooo not a salt person so if anything is too salty I don't eat it. I did excellent yesterday. didnt pass 1300 calories and did my zumba (my instructor is hysterical!) and about 20 minutes on the stationary bike. this morning i had my coffee and decided to do 100 jumping jacks. keep it up shorties xoxo |
Hey everyone! Glad to see we got a new thread-- :) Things for me are going great! I see we have a lot of newbies here Welcome! ! Today I'm trying to stay on the low side of my calories because I've been on the upper side of my calories so I thought if I bounced down maybe it will increase the weightloss! So it'll be around 1,230 today! I'm going to get in atleast 30 minutes of working out today. This morning's weigh in was a whopping 159.8 lbs! My all-time low! I'm beyond excited to get out of the 160's and hope that 159 is not a fluke. Good luck to all!

brokengently- around 1700. i have a long way to go. Just starting this week so I'll have to wait and see and adjust along with way. Just started turbo fire. I'll have to give an update in a few weeks.

JLNichols that's awesome...congrats!!! :) I did very well yesterday. stayed under 1300 calories again and went to the gym n did 20 minutes treadmill then a 45 minute triple fat burning class. Anyone do or has done kettlebells? I need something to do on the weekends that is more towards toning since I do a lot of cardio during the week. I've made my weigh-in on Mondays. This way hopefully it will help me from over indulging over the weekends......(especially with the beer lol) |

I agree, extra weight shows on us immediately.. no fair! I'm a calorie counter, and I've been working on running (registered for an 8K in April) and have recently incorporated Bikram Yoga into my routine. Looking to shed those last nagging 8-10 lb to reach my goal weight, and to successfully complete this 8K thing.. without passing out. Have a great day ladies! -FPSJ |

I posted in the old thread. I'm pretty new here and am starting my journey to lose 80lbs :o I have already lost 3lbs officially. I guess it's a good start. Am going to start adding in exercise from Saturday when I get back to my house from my parents, am looking forward to it, have been in a sort of limbo waiting to start my plan properly. But am so ready to get rid of this 80lbs FOREVER! I like being a shortie (5 foot nuffin!) most of the time but when it comes to weight, being 200lbs is definitely noticeable and i can't wait to get rid of it :p Well i'm glad I found you fellow shorties! :carrot: Good to see other's progress who are similar weights and heights. Weightforme- I am calorie counting also. Depending on the day, I do 1200-1500 cals. As you can see in my profile info Im just under 5 ft. and weigh 190. When I came to this site I knew I wanted to change myself. I weighed that night after I had created my prof.The scale read 2 lbs more than I weighed a month ago OUCH.

this morning I'm 175.5. So a solid 2 pound loss is okay. i wish it was more but at least the scale is moving in the right direction.

Hi, shorties! I'm short, too. This is the first time I've seen this thread. I'm doing the low carb thing. I didn't do so hot over the holidays, of course, and today I'm going to a birthday party. Oh, well. I did manage to avoid the brownies my kids and husband ate yesterday. That is something.

Hello shorties!
I was looking at my driver's license the other night and was wondering why my height was listed as 154cm (around 8 years ago). I've always thought I was closer to 158cm, and have put my height as 5'1.75" here. So I double checked and turns out, I'm actually 155cm - exactly 5'1" :( I was pissed off at first since this moves my normal BMI by 5 lbs! *fumes* But I guess it's better to know the truth now, than later. Am I the only one too lazy to exercise in the cold? I'm basically just calorie-counting now... And I'm soooo tempted to try Alli... I've been reading the Alli thread for a week now, trying to decide if I'll give it a try! Lazy, lazy... |
I just about cried when I renewed my license last year. I listed my weight at 175. Oops just a little off. It's on my list on things to do after I hit my goal.
I have a snow day today!!! So I slept in and will watch some TV, workout, and work on school stuff. i love getting a free day to get stuff done! |

Hi guys. I'd like to join the group.
I joined a long time ago, but really started taking it seriously during the past two weeks. I'm super happy that I've lost five pounds, but it always gets really tough when I hit 145. Then I give up and go back to the 150s. I also am bummed that even when I was 9 months pregnant the most I weighed was 162. Ugh. As I've moved up at work, I've become less and less active. I'm also a calorie counter and use the site, ************.com. I downloaded it to my smart phone, so I can track even when I'm away from the PC. Right now I'm eating 1200-1300 calories a day, drinking lots of green tea, little to no sugar and a ton of veggies. I look forward to success with all of you! |

Yes, it's definitely too cold to exercise outside. I've been jogging in place while watching TV in the evenings. My kids think it's nuts, but who cares? They even joined me a couple of times. We were having a "race" to see how long we could do it. LOL Brr! It's cold here. 17 degrees this morning. That's just obscenely cold. |

I just joined the forum and only recently starting focusing on my weight. Already I have gone a week without soda, which was a pretty tough challenge but I think I crave it less and less. I finally brought out the old Tony Little Gazelle I have never used and worked on it for 20 min yesterday! Its cold here in Texas too (though not as much as where some of you are) but was able to walk outside for a little while. Yay for one day at a time :carrot: |
