Jules..I would love to be by the ocean. Would buy a place in San Diego in a heartbeat if it were not so expensive there. Love, love, love it.
Sometime soon we are traveling to Charleston and Savannah and possibly S. Carolina. I can not wait.
Francie--he always says he's not sure I would like AZ, I love me my green trees way to much. Climate would be great for his arthritis and my allergies though.
Linda--yes the Carolina's are beautiful ocean or mountains take your pick and the people are awesome. I think I could do Oregon or Washington state...my son loved it, but the dampness would kill hubby's joint pain
Sue--San Diego is suppossed to be beautiful...maybe someday...
Well, I gotta get ready and go to my uncle's funeral this morning.
I shall be busy packing/painting/moving this weekend again. Yes we got a new place. I thought I had mentioned it? Hmmm. Oh well. Anyways we have its bigger, closer to the in-laws and the same price of rent as we pay now so could not pass it up. We have until next month to move so we can do it a little at a time, so a lot easier but still been busy.
DH and I went and got new glasses lastnight. I posted mine on my FB if your interested. We were supposed to get snow today. No sign of it. Oh well that is a good thing, DH and I have much to do!!
Good Friday afternoon chickies...
Not a lot going on here. Just Dr. appts and physical therapy for mom and her hip. Today was a visit to her new GP, a bone scan and blood work. Poor gal is getting tired of it. And I don't blame her. But as usual, she is a trooper.
Have not been doing anything right the last few days...so I am determined to exercise today and get back at it. It is cold here...so indoor walking is on the agenda.
Sassy- Hope you enjoy the new place. More room is always nice. Glad you have awhile to move..makes it easier.
Jules- So sorry to hear about your uncle. You have had a rough time of it lately. I think you need a nice long vacation to the beach. Wish I lived near you we would run away....
Jules~ The climate might be good..but the economy there isn't. My family keeps telling us not to move back. Sorry about your uncle
Sassy~ Hot man..me likey I hope it doesn't snow, so you can get things done. Send snow thoughts my way please, lol!!
So on tuesday, I was very bored and bleached my hair. I was going to dye it a diff kind of blonde afterwards. But since I'm a natural brunette, it didn't turn all the way blonde. (That and my cousin told me I used the wrong bleach). On wed, I looked at my hair and noticed that my stupid roots were already showing!!! My cousin told me to wait until next week to bleach my hair again. I was like, um no thanks. I went out and bought a burgandy dye. I'll post pictures after I've washed out my hair. Note to self: never bleach hair again. LoL!!
AF is here for a visit. Which basically means I'm going to get another visit from her on my anniversary next month. It just ruins everything!!

FRANCIE...the book was If I Could Only See You or something like that by Cecelia Ahern....it was okay, not bad for make believe but I believe there was a message there and so the make believe part wasn't so bad. A feel good kinda book to me. I should have had #1 read about 3 days ago, lol! Hard getting any time watching Lily and then by the time she goes home I am pooped! She drains me! Anywho...I KNEW you dyed your hair Oh, I like your siggy!
SUE & JULES...guess it is just me but I didn't think San Diego was so great. And was very disappointed with the Zoo that EVERYONE said was the BEST! Maybe just spent more time in Long Beach/Redondo Beach/San Pedro/Huntington Beach and like them better...just me. I really miss the beach though and if I could live anywhere I would live in Monterey/Carmel...BEAUTIFUL up there!
SASSY...well, HAPPY MOVING when you do move! Looks like a move is in our future as well but we will be downsizing, which is fine with me...we have too much junk! I just dread the thought of moving, ugh! Hope you guys enjoy your new, bigger place!
HELLO to everyone else
I feel so tired! Afraid my work has just begun. Well, it actually started yesterday with the shopping, ugh. More shopping today and cleaning. Getting ready to make some fruit kabobs and then will do the rest tomorrow. Having an egagement party for my oldest and while he/they wanted just a wine/cheese party most the people I know don't care for the wine and cheese, lol. Well, they like it but they need more...just trying to accomodate everyone, mostly me, lol. Anyway, nothing fancy...just a lot of finger foods except for the cake. And not good on the ole diet, ugh. I was down to 189 last WI and don't even want to WI this Monday...too much crap. But I did walk 4 of the 5 days and plan to Sunday as well so, we'll see. Anyway...just wanted to drop by and say HI Better get to doing something or nothing will get done.
Cristina~ If You Could See Me Now? That's a pretty good book. I really like Cecelia Ahern. I've sorta slacked off on her books lately though. But they are really good. I LOVED P.S I Love You.
I should be in bed but I cannot sleep. Not feeling well. Haven't been for a few days. Not sure if its a bug or what........BLAH.
Well we didn't get much done lastnight, but I did manage to get some boxes packed up during the day. Tomorrow, er um today actually (Saturday) we are heading over to the new place to check out the paint to see if it needs anymore and if so buy some more and then paint. Dunno if we'll get anything else moved over or not.
We have moved some over, its nice having time to move. Our current landlord is showing our current house. I hate it because our place is a mess with moving and what not. I mean we try to keep it as tidy as we can, but ya know how it goes. So I HATE that he is showing it. I know he needs to, so he can have someone move in when we move out. But I HATE it! We had people look at the house last weekend and they even signed a check over to him, but backed out as soon as they gave their current landlord notice he made them a deal that they could not refuse. So now he's back to the drawing board. UGH.
I'm currently re-reading Deathly Hallows, the last Harry Potter Book before the movie comes out this month. I hope I make it. lol. I know I only need to read half of it as they are splitting the last movie into two parts. I always like re-reading the books before watching the movie to "refresh my memory"
Sue -- I wish your Mom well with everything she is going through. Big Yes I am so glad we have the time to move slowly, sure makes a difference! I haven't been walking since we are moving. I know I should but I don't.......I plan on getting back on track when we move.
Francie -- Glad you liked the Hot Man! Hee hee. I thought he'd make your ladies Friday's. lol. So far, I haven't seen any snow. Its been cold, but no snow yet! I will surely send it your way! lol. I've never bleached my hair. I know dark hair is so hard to stay blonde. I remember being blonde it seemed like it was non-stop dying. But I loved being blonde at the time. I have gotten so many compliments on my hair color and I can't remember what the color was. I am thinking it was a Medium Intense Auburn? I dunno but since we got back from Wisconsin no more has come out so it must have been the Hot Tub up there! lol. UGH AF absolutely RUINS EVERYTHING! She came when I was up in Wisconsin! I was like "Seriously? You decide to come NOW? You've been absent for months and NOW you decide to come?" Big Hon! I see your hair is back to normal. YAY! I know how that is.
Cristina -- Thanks. I look forward to having more space and less junk. Seems like we purge everytime we move. I wish you luck when you move. I know its no fun, but I'm glad we have time to move, its been so much easier this way. We can take a load over at a time and its not as big of a deal and I should have everything put away by the time we are out of this place! (I'm hoping!!) Esp with the holidays coming up. We aren't doing T'giving, but we wanna do Christmas so I gotta get truckin on the unpacking! GL on your oldest's engagement party. I know its tough tryin to please everybody! I've been SO bad since we are moving. I WI last week and did manage to lose 1 pound, I dunno how! I guess its the movers/painters/packers workout! LOL!
Sassy~ I finished re-reading The Deathly Hallows a few weeks ago. Hubs & I are watching all the movies again too. I cannot wait for TDH to come out!!!! Did you buy your midnight ticket yet?? Sorry you're feeling sick.
Anyways, I just stopped by because I was updating some stuff on goodreads. I just finished a book. Time to go to bed now.
Cristina- Congrats to your oldest on the engagement. SO, when is the wedding? Lots of planning I am sure. I was worried about downsizing when we built this house, but I could not be any happier. I love the size as it is easier to keep up with. And I did manage to get rid of so much stuff that we had not used in years. I have my photos and momentos, and DH built the blanket chest for me to store them. If we move again the chest just needs to be picked up and carried out. There are all my memories. The other thing was our attic..ugh, what a mess of 27 years of just putting things up there. Now here we have Christmas deco. and that is IT. And with DH having his shop here we are not always storing and searching for tools. Love it...even with one less bedroom, no formal dining room and less a huge family room. (we gained an extra 1/2 bath and the huge workshop) But the basic house is much less sq. footage.
Sassy- Hope you get feeling better real soon. Sure can't move if you are sick. Did you get the townhouse or is it a house or apt.? Do you have a yard again? Glad you are closer to the in-laws and are happy with it!! (nice that you get along with the in-laws too. I have read horror stories from others who don't. lol)
Francie- My hair is lighter than yours and when I went blond it was hard to keep up. I kept it for a year or so when I was younger, then let it go... It was a real platinum color too. Loved it and it was a shaggy short cut (pixie-ish) and I was so thin. Man, if I could go back..lol Anyway I am sure your new color looks great on you, but would love to have seen you as a blond. Did you take a photo?
Oh..I also wanted to add...about San Diego. Never went to the zoo, but my son said it was nice. We didn't spend much time in SD, but were in La Jolla, which is by the ocean. So I will say I loved the little area we were in, but can't speak much for the city. I am just in love with their weather and sure I would like anywhere along the coast that had such pleasant temps. year round. I also love NoCal but their weather sucks...lol.
Sue~ Do you have any pics of this awesome style of yours? I would love to see (as I'm sure would everyone else here too). I do have a pic of my "blonde" hair. It looks more reddish than blonde though. It's on my facebook until Vampire Diaries photos. I look vamped out, but you can really see the hair. I don't have any pics of me now though. But the color is really really pretty. The San Diego Zoo is really awesome!! I haven't been there in years though. We always get in free at Sea World, so whenever we're in SD, we just go there. I love the beaches there so much. San Diego is my 2nd choice of places to live for sure. I love being near the water. You didn't go to any of the malls? They are all outdoors (although, I heard there was one inside..never found it though).
I had a terrible day. I fell asleep for an hour, had a nightmare and woke up with a panic attack. Then after it was over..we decided to hit the stores. I bought a new coat and some long sleeved shirts. I also got a new vanity & a mini Xmas tree, lol!! Fonzo bought the Kinect & Silm Xbox360. We haven't set that up though. But I did buy Dance Central with it..and I can't wait to try it out. Just need to clear an area to play, lol!! They also have an exercise game too!! I really want to get that, but maybe later. It will be cool playing without controllers. Anyways..I finally got some sleep, and now I'm starving!!! So I'm gonna go look for food..hope you all had a nice sat.
Well today we got up, went to the inlaws for a visit, then went to the new place to check out the paint, bought some more paint and by that time it was time to come back home for the showing of our current place. Yippee. lol.
He had two showings. The 1st couple did not look interested at all. The guy was nice and friendly but the woman was not and neither were their kids. But whatever. Not MY house particularly. I mean we live here but its not like we're selling or renting out OUR place. Still annoying. 2nd was a guy who seemed pretty cool, again, not that its up to me. HA.
So DH decided to just get up early and paint in the morning, his friend is going to help. Good. I don't have to paint! YAY! I am staying home and finishing up some packing and cooking dinner.
Francie -- Nope we usually wait to see the HP movies to avoid the crowds. We do the same on the Twilight Movies. Yeah we probably need to rewatch all the movies too. OMG DH and I wanna get the new Kinect too! You will have to tell me how it is! So sorry you had a nightmare! Those can be scary and oh so realistic sometimes!
Sue -- Its a Condo, has 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths (2 full upstairs and a half down), a basement and a garage! Yes it has a HUGE backyard that we share with the people next door, but its still big. Yeah I'm extremely lucky that I get along so well with my in-laws. I'm feeling a little better today. Now DH is feeling bad. UGH. Glad you had fun in SD.
Francie...That was soooo many years ago, but I will sure look for a picture of my blond days. Was talking about it to daughter and she only remembers pictures with my hair blond and not so short. I had forgotten that before I changed the color it had grown out from the really short do. I will see if I can find both pix. (this was in 1967, so whoa...)
Ok...so I am not going blonde, but I debated even coloring my hair again or just let it go natural with the grey showing...the dye job won...I am also letting my hair grow out again, I've been pulling it straight back in a bun for the better part of 3 months to get past the in my face part..last week I let it down and I got all kinds of reaction about what was so ifferent....duh...it's not pulled back..turns out hubby likes it longer, but never complained what I did to it..
Sue--you should have hitched a ride east with the FIL when he came last week!! We could have picked up Francie and hit the Atlantic!!
Sassy--the condo sounds great!! I love to paint. I don't think I'd like people coming and looking at a place I lived at.
Francie--the boys decided to stay up way past my bedtime last night then Ash got up extra EARLY and I finally got him back to sleep and Dom got up and is hatching you tube so I get to get on here some but boy am I sleepy and I have theat tinge of a migrane that comes when you didn't get enough sleep...
Cristina--congrats on your son's engagement!! The only time I was west of the Mississippi was when hubby bought a motorcycle in North Dakota in February and we went and got it...
Susan, Katy & Linda--hi all
well off to get a few things done...DOm wants cartoons, ASh still sleeping...hubby down in the garage...
