Well, I never did see any of that game yesterday, but I'll get my fill of Dallas next week. My car's in for inspection today, so I'm trying desperately to finish my cleaning and decorating. Well, cleaning is never exactly finished, is it?! I always get myself hung up on some intricate project when I should be zooming around making a dent everywhere. Today I decided I had to try to fix DH's recliner that he broke by flopping in it when he got his knee injury. I suspect it won't hold up for too long, but I did get it temporarily fixed! Took hours off of my allotted Christmas prep time, but I feel better. LOL!

Eating is OP, I'm coming to get you this week, Arabella! And Carri, you're next! Unless I make the Christmas fudge. Then I'm in trouble. LOL!

Back to work. Have a great day!

Rtsmme4life 12-06-2010 01:58 PM

Hey ladies....so far I have been very OP today! :yay:

Carri- There seems to be a lot of injuries this year, our quarterback has been out with a broken collar bone so the QB yesterday was the back up. We also had a coaching change a few weeks ago.

Auntie- yay for being OP!

Brrrrrr its cold here today!!!

Have a great day ladies!

sept15lija 12-06-2010 07:12 PM

Hey gals!!

Sorry I've been a little MIA!

Mel - No I haven't been using the Lose It app, just fitday still. I'm still sticking at 1500 calories. YAY for OP! :)

Carri - Hi! Sorry that your team isn't doing so good, kinda like DH with his beloved Leafs, lol.

Arabella - Hi! :)

auntie g - Good job on fixing the chair!! :) Also, I never did answer your question about my arms, lol...I don't know if I think they are longer but now for the first time I don't mind having attention drawn to them...I used to not wear my rings or wear a watch because I felt like my arms were so bloody fat, now I had to get my wedding rings resized and I love wearing them and my watch!! :)

Anyhow everything's going well here, had a couple of nice parties on the weekend. My birthday's on Wednesday and my MIL brought over a cake she made for me, I managed to just eat one little piece, it was so good! Hope everybody's having a great day.

Rtsmme4life 12-06-2010 08:42 PM

Liz- the app says I can have 1469 calories. I haven't realized how hard it is to stay that low on calories. But I am proud to say that I did stay under today and only drank water (except one cup of coffee). Do you mind telling me what you eat in a typical day, I could really use some ideas :)

sept15lija 12-07-2010 09:51 AM

Mel - Sure I can tell you, although I have to be honest here, I am completely boring and don't have much variety, but I really actually like it that way! Anyhow a sample menu:

Breakfast
1-2 cups of tea with a splash of milk and splenda
1 breakfast pita
1 medium apple

Lunch (I usually don't have a morning snack, just not hungry generally)
1/2 cup tuna or 2 oz chicken or 3-4 homemade turkey meatballs
3 pieces multigrain flatbread
Handful of baby carrots
2 tbsp hummus

Snack
Kashi granola bar or some mini rice cakes (the one with flavourings)
1/2 apple or 1/2 banana sometimes

Dinner
1 cup pasta with 1/2 cup sauce or a Lean Cuisine, or a couple of slices of thin crust veggie pizza
3 pieces of multigrain flatbread
Maybe 1/2 cup cottage cheese (I am trying to up my protein intake)
Lettuce salad with low cal dressing or some steamed vegetables

If I eat out for dinner I have 1/2 grilled chicken sub with no cheese, or maybe a chicken pita with no cheese. Or sometimes a salad from McDonald's.

Bedtime snack:
100 calorie chocolate pretzels
3 arrowroot cookies
1 cup of tea with milk and splenda

This usually works out to 1500 calories, sometimes I am low on calories so I might eat an extra snack. I'm actually really careful not to go too much below 1500 calories, never below 1400.

Rtsmme4life 12-07-2010 04:00 PM

Thanks for the menu Liz! Are the kashi granola bars good? I tried Kashi go lean cereal today and it reminded me of bark haha

I have been OP so far today! I have a roast in the crock pot with carrots, potatoes and corn. Plan on having a little meat, very few potatoes, carrots and little corn. As of right now I still have 925 calories for the day so I may get a little snack tonight! I must say that I do feel a little better after only a day and a half OP :) Weighed 198.4 today so hopefully I am on the way down....I have also hid the scale until Sunday!

Satine 12-08-2010 10:21 AM

Morning Girls ....having a good day, just got told I got a promotion here at work so I am pretty happy about that ....yay me !! haha

Mel - I eat the kashi bars too, my favorite is the Dark Chocolate Coconut in the soft bars and in the hard ones it is the Pumpkin Spice Flax ...try them I think you will like them. How did your roast turn out? I do alot of meat in the crockpot in the winter ...always turns out so good, and I love that it is ready right when I get home...

How is everyone else doing today? Still freezing cold here, just checked the current temp and it said 8 !!!!!!!!!!!! Crazy ....so just trying to keep warm today.

Have a great one !!
Carri

sept15lija 12-08-2010 12:49 PM

MMM yes I love kashi bars, the dark chocolate mocha almond one is my favourite. We're getting our fireplace installed today, so it'll be a little less chilly in our house soon!! :)

Carri - Congrats on your promotion!!!!! :)

Rtsmme4life 12-08-2010 12:53 PM

Carri- The roast turned out great! It was that cold here this morning brrrr! And the snow coming this weekend is not going to help anything. But I hear Indiana is going to get a lot so I hope you stay safe! Congrats on the promotion thats AMAZING!!!!! :yay: :carrot:

I woke up with the start of a sore throat and the right side of my neck is sore to the touch. I have had 2 airbournes so far today and took a 2 hour nap while the kids were in school. I really hope that I don't get fully sick :(
I am going to try to take both the boys to Old Navy later bc they have all their sweaters buy one get one free :) I'm a total sale shopper lol

Still OP though I didnt start getting sick until I cut my calories down...I had about 1350 per day for the past 2 days. So I wonder if thats part of it?

Rtsmme4life 12-08-2010 12:55 PM

Liz- I guess you were writing when I was bc I just saw your post. Yay for the new fireplace...we had or gas logs put in last night and I am currently looking at a fire. It just makes me feel warmer. I will have to try the kashi bars since you and Carri both like them!

GetBehindMeSatan 12-08-2010 02:07 PM

I'm new!

Hi Guys,

I'm a friend of Carri's at work and she suggested that I join your group. :dizzy:

I want to first explain my username, GetBehindMeSatan. I dont want people to think that I'm a "devil" worshiper or anything of the sort. I'm actually the exact opposite. I have come to a point in my life where I feel that not only do I need help from a support group such as this one, but I need help from the Lord in order to lose this weight. That's why I chose GetBehindMeSatan, because I want to leave him and his "temptations" behind and look to the future where I fully depend on God's help through this journey.

I have PCOS. I have every symptom and have been diagnosed through ultrasounds and bloodwork. I was a swimmer in high school and was a very average size. PCOS didnt effect me too much because I exercised literally 4 hours per day which included 1 hour of swimming before school, 2 hours of swimming after school and 1 hour of weight-lifting during study hall. As you can imagine, as soon as I graduated from high school....I began to gain weight. I think I exercised SO MUCH every day that it kept the weight off that a normal PCOS person has.

I am looking forward to starting Weight Watchers in January. I figure I am close enough to the end of the year that I may as well enjoy Christmas. So as of January 1st, I am going to be serious about my weight loss.

Well...here I am. Hopefully with my past dieting experiences I can help someone and with all of your experiences, you can help me as well! I look forward to chatting with you all!

Satine 12-08-2010 02:12 PM

yay Tara !!!!!! Glad you made it on here ....I know we talk alot at work but now we can talk on here as well ....great to have you in our group ...

Hey everyone when you get a chance introduce yourselves to Tara and tell her a little bit about you. :)

Mel and Liz - we have a fireplace in our house, we have only used it once...I didnt like the mess it made...I asked for a gas log from my inlaws for Christmas so we will see if that happens, I know they are expensive...also thanks for the congrats on the promotion.

Carri

Rtsmme4life 12-08-2010 06:19 PM

Hi Tara! :wave:My name is Melanie and I joined this site June 1,2010. That's also when it started to lose weight. I am a SAHM with 2 boys (6 & 4). I am 26 and have been with Ryan for over 7 years. I have never been able to lose weight even though I can't tell you how many New Year's Eve resolutions I have made to do so. I would try for a week then quit. I have never been a small or average sized person so I just thought I wasn't able to lose weight. Here is my plan (though I was slacking for the last few weeks but got back on track this week) I use an app on my iTouch (they have it for the iPhone as well) called LoseIt!. You put your height, weight and how much you want to lose a week and it will tell you how many calories you can eat to achieve it. The app currently says I can have 1,469. I will admit that I have not been exercising in months but if I eat right I am still slowly losing weight. The ladies in this forum are amazing and I can honestly say if it wasn't for them and all their support/kind words I would have quit. My first big goal is to hit 190 (weight when I met Ryan) and the lowest I have been in my adult life. Please feel free to ask me anything you want and I look forward to you being part of the group!!

Carri- I hope you get the logs for Christmas!

auntie g 12-08-2010 06:29 PM

Halfway through another work week- yay! Mostly OP, but a few little bits of chocolate have been creeping in. I keep trying to avoid them, but they're everywhere! Tis the season... Still trying to clean and decorate, clean and decorate. I keep changing my mind about what I want and where I want it. I'm driving myself crazy!

Mel, I love the Kashi stuff, too. I used to eat the Go Lean Crunch cereal, not the "not crunch", and it was delicious. I went back to plain bran flakes, though, because I prefer my cereal to be mushy, and that crunch was a tough one to mush. And the granola bars? Mmmmmm...

Liz, :bday2you:
Hope you're having a great day! And about the arms thing- I think after so many years of the excess baggage not allowing them to hang down straight, when they finally did, they seemed longer. LOL, sounds stupid in writing, but I really felt that way and can't wait to get there again!

Carri, congrats on the promotion!! It's freezing here, too, but at least we're still in the double digits- whoopee! On BL, I can't believe Elizabeth did better than Ada at home. That was a shocker! I'm totally rooting for Ada.

Tara, :welcome: Your username cracked me up, it's all good! The last time I lost the big chunk of weight (I've definitely been a yo-yo!), I did the same thing you're planning. In December I got the bright idea to join WW at the beginning of January. It went very well, I lost over 100 lbs and kept it off til I got lazy about logging my food. That's the most important thing, I think... the keeping track to stay on track. And with the PCOS, that's extra incentive to get it together! You've got a few weeks to get your head ready, so let's get to it! We're all in this mess together!

Have a good night, all!

Rtsmme4life 12-09-2010 08:17 AM

Happy one day late Birthday Liz!!! I totally went blank yesterday so sorry I didn't with you Happy Birthday yesterday!
:balloons::bday2::celebrate::bday2you::woo:
