Carri - Glad to hear that the scale moved downwards for you! You're right something always seems to come up - whenever I have a dinner that I know will be higher in calories, I either eat less that day or the next day or so follwing the meal, that way it evens out. Happy 17th annivesary btw, that is a long time!! Oh and as for my calories, I really haven't dropped them too much yet, but trying to stay around 1350-1400. I think my illness is why the scale wasn't moving - it's moving now again.

Mel - Yeah it's good to keep goals a bit low, I always like to say underpromise and overdeliver! lol that's usually when I'm talking about customer service at work but hey works for this too!

Well I'm exhausted, I was just run off my feet working at Jacob's preschool, thank goodness it's only once a month! It was fun though. I tried on my size 10 goal jeans, still at least 10-15 pound to go I think. I've got a bit of space in my 12's though which is fun! Anyhow hope everybody has a great day.

Happy anniversary Carri!!!

Liz-Preschools can definitely wear you out! I wish I was trying to fit into a 10, I'm stuck at a 16 now :(

sept15lija 11-04-2010 05:10 PM

Mel - That blows my mind you can't fit into a size smaller than a 16, Mel! You are less than me BMI wise - have you tried different stores? Some stores there's no way I can get into a 12, but other stores I find more forgiving. I wonder if sizing between the US and Canada is just a lot different?

Rtsmme4life 11-04-2010 07:28 PM

I would probably be a smaller size if I didn't have these awful hips! I can't think of a time in my life when I was a 14 because of my huge hips! The day I make it in a comfortable 14 I will be sooooooo happy! I dont know if there is a size difference between here and canada?

sept15lija 11-04-2010 07:43 PM

Well my sister who does a lot of shopping down there says it's about the same, lol. I guess it just is how our body shapes are so different!! Oh well, anyways, you will be in a 14 soon!

Rtsmme4life 11-04-2010 07:56 PM

Thanks hun!!

Ok it's weigh in day for me....I jumped on the scale and saw 202.2!! OMG I did it! I lost 2 pounds this week :) I saw 201.8 a few times at the end but really don't want to jinx it haha With 202.2 I am .2 pounds away from 40 pounds lost yay!!! And getting to the 202.somethings I am now in the "Overweight" not "Obese" category now!!!

I went to a jewelry party last night at my MIL's house (didn't buy anything bc everything was WAY overpriced lol). There was cookies, brownies, candy and soda everywhere but I stood my ground and didn't have a thing! My DH's grandma is there who I haven't seen since July and she noticed my weight loss which was good. :D My mom was there too and she said "Please don't lose anymore weight you look great right now". My mom is the sweetest but she doesn't understand I guess, I told her I have been doing this the healthy way and I wouldn't do anything to hurt myself. I have never lost weight before (unless I had my tonsils or wisdom teeth out) so I guess she's worried I'm doing it with pills or something since it's working?

Since I have only 0.2 to reach 40 pounds lost I thought I would update my measurements :)
Lost:
Belly: 5 1/4 inches Thighs: (L) 4 3/4 inches (R) 4 3/4 inches
Hips: 5 1/2 inches Neck: 1/2 inch
Arms: (L) 1 1/2 inches (R) 2 inches Calf : (L) 1 inch (R) 1 inch
Total 40lbs= 26 1/4 inches off my butt! :carrot:

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Rainy Saturday

:rain: Like POURING! I just did a half-hour :trampo: workout watching Dexter and then a half-hour of :yoga: though, so that's taken care of.

I was five pounds up from the Halloween-sparked spiral out of control but two good days back OP now and three of them are gone again. This week: planning to get that ticker to move in a downward direction. Week after next I'm taking off -- thinking that'll be a good time for me to start hot yoga. I'm going to get my plan ready for what I want to do that week... DH will be here for the first part of it and away for the rest.

Going out to dinner at SIL's tonight so will have to keep my wits about me. I seem to be getting a little better at remembering that I want to lose weight. Shall report on it tomorrow.

Mel! That's fantastic! :balloons: Ahhhhhhh... no longer obese, nearly 40 pounds gone, border of Onederland -- you're rockin' it! And a hot Batgirl, too. :)

Happy anniversary, Carri! And congrats on the loss, too. DH and I started dating just about 21 years ago this month... thinking maybe the 25th but don't remember for sure.

Liz, yes, the little ones are so exhausting it's hard to imagine how anyone handles them in multiples. Brave woman! But they are also so sweet, it kind-of makes up for it.

Auntie g, how are you doing?

K, I'm on a timer here so I'd better scoot before I lose my post. Let's make it a good one. :)

Rtsmme4life 11-06-2010 11:46 AM

Thanks Arabella! I am just so ready to see a 1 in front of my weight!

Good luck at your SIL's tonight!

sept15lija 11-06-2010 01:51 PM

WOO HOO Mel!! What fantastic results thus far! I wish I could where I wrote down my measurements at the beginning. I'll be joining you soon in the ranks of the overweight, I was 176 this morning so 2 pounds to go. I can't wait - leaving behind obesity will be really wonderful.

Arabella - Sorry to hear it's rainy, it's gorgeous here! Are you on the west coast? You really like yoga, huh? I'm thinking of getting the x box kinect and trying out the yoga on there with the other stuff too.

Hope everybody is having a great weekend, we went to a christmas bazaar today (my god, already???) and now I'm home and the kids and the dog are sleeping, whew. :)

auntie g 11-06-2010 07:34 PM

Well, I forgot to weigh in this morning, but it's probably for the better. I guess I'm going to have to dig up my WW stuff and go back to counting points. That's the only thing that's ever worked for me. I didn't think I did too bad this week, except for the Halloween chocolate, but I really FLS, so I guess I'm not estimating portion sizes as well as I thought...

Mel, you're soo close to those ones! :bravo:

Arabella, really, we need to get those tickers on track! This is going to be a good week! :crossed:

Liz, a Christmas bazaar? Oh, my, I guess it is getting to be that time, huh? Hope those 2 lbs fall off quick for ya!

Carri, I know you're not really on here over the weekend, so I will have to FB you about our football game tomorrow... Hope the scale cooperated for you, and you didn't do too much Anniversary dinner damage!

Have a great Sunday, all!

Rtsmme4life 11-06-2010 09:09 PM

Thanks Liz! I am so ready to be out of the 200s! Wow only 2 more pounds thats awesome! You are rocking this weight loss!

Auntie- I hope the WW works for you, I have never done it before so I have no idea how it works.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

auntie g 11-07-2010 06:27 AM

Oh, how I love the "fall back" extra hour of sleep! :cb: Got out the WW stuff, measured up my breakfast, and feeling more hopeful than I have in ages!

Mel, the WW points system is kind of like counting calories- you figure points based on how many calories, grams of fiber, and grams of fat the food has. It's easier than it sounds. Anyway, I've lost 80 lbs twice, and 107 lbs the last time I stuck to it. Sadly, when I stopped the counting and logging, well, you know what happens... I guess after a while I decided I didn't need that much structure, but apparently I always will.

So, here we go!

Happy Sunday!

Arabella 11-07-2010 07:40 AM

Still friggin' pouring out there. I am officially tired of it but don't know where to go to complain.

I didn't do too badly at SIL's last night, although there were a few extras -- a handful of multigrain chips w. cream cheese/salsa dip, small piece of carrot cake, maybe a bit too much wine. But o/w, dinner was healthy and I only had oatmeal, a bowl of soup and an apple earlier in the day. Still, I'd have had to have some saved points to make up for it and, after the few days after Halloween...

Anyway, it was a bit of a splurge but back to regularly scheduled programming today.

Auntie g, we're parallelling -- I've been thinking of hauling out ye olde WW book and points calculators. In fact, actually have been looking for them and found the calculators but fear I may have thrown the book away in one of those moments where I thought "Nope -- got this problem solved. Will never have to track points again." Ah well. I just remember how actually tracking points and staying within the allotted number actually seemed to lead to weight loss... :chin:

Mel, you could hit that fabled land this week! :crossed: So exciting! Great job on those inches, too.

Liz, it's earlier every year isn't it? The Halloween stuff disappears out of the stores and Christmas stuff goes up.

Carri, hope you had a lovely romantic dinner last night!

K, I've got to figure out what I'm going to do today. Let's make it a good one!

Rtsmme4life 11-07-2010 09:33 AM

Good Luck with the WW stuff Auntie and Arabella!

This fall back is messing with my schedule but life goes on lol

I had a NSV yesterday!! I went to Old Navy and squeezed into a 14!! They were a little tight but I know they will fit well soon :) I can't think of the last time I was near a 14, oh and I got a Large size sweater instead of XL or XXL from when I started. It's all starting to feel real! This is also the first time I have ever worn/owed skinny jeans! It feels good to look in the mirror and not completely hate what I see. :D
