Morning Girls....
Auntie G - yeah I am rooting for Ada too ....I think that will make it like 3 years in a row that a woman will win ...good for us !! I also have been trying to stay away from chocolate, but last night at the store I bought a bag of the Dove chocolates so that I could just have one or two when I feel I need them.... Right now I am just trying to maintain and not gain through Christmas...I know that probably sounds bad but I just cant get my mind around it right now and that gives me a goal to start after....I have gained about 20 pds back since early summer so I do feel horrible for that but it is what it is and I can only move forward....you girls are doing great though, which makes me feel more ashamed, and you are definitely inspriring to me. Liz - I know I told you on fb but again Happy Birthday yesterday !!!!!!!! How old does that make you ? If I can ask.... :D Hi Tara and Arabella ....nice rhyme .....haha Everybody have a great day.... Carri |
Just wanted to stop by with a quick NSV that I'm excited about. I am currently wearing a pair of skinny jeans from Old Navy size 14!!! I can't ever think of a time when I was in a 14! yay!!!
Have a great day ladies..... I'm still OP :) |
Congrats on the 14s, Mel! And a woo hoo, too!!!
Carri, it's often the Dove chocolate that gets me, too! Mmmm, that is some good stuff! (Hanging my head in shame...) Don't know why I stopped in right now, Big Bang Theory is coming on, so I gotta go! Have a good night! |
Mel - Congrats on the NSV!!! WOO HOO for skinny jeans!! :)
Carri - Hi - yes you can ask, I am now 33....omg I feel old! lol I know I`m not really but 32 just seemed so much younger somehow!! haha Tara - WELCOME!!! I love your screen name! We can all definitely use lots of help and I know I pray for strength on some days when temptations are calling my name. auntie g - Hey you know it makes sense!! :) As for me, still kneedeep in renovations. The fireplace is in but they still need to finish building the wall surrounding it and then we`re doing stone. I`ll have to post a pic, I am so excited for when this is done! Have a great one, ladies. |
Morning Girls - TGIF ....Supposed to get more snow this weekend...not as much as last time though... 1-3 inches but ya know they are never spot on so who knows what will happen...I like snow so I am okay with it ...YAY my Colts won last night ...we have to win the next 3 games to be in the play offs so now I am stressed...wearning my Colts jersey here at work ( 93 Freeney ) today for our win.
Mel - 14's is impressive...doesnt even sound fat anymore ...haha...you go Girl !!!! Auntie G - yeah I know, that Dove chocolate is so FREAKIN smooth...way too good...especially the carmel filled ones...okay better stop talking about it huh? :D Tara - Hi Tara - come back in and chat with us. Arabella - Hi Liz - I cant wait to see your fireplace...I know I hate to have stuff done around the house too, the mess, the length of time it takes...I bet it will look great when it is done. Okay girls, better get back to work !! Have a great day and weekend !!!! Carri |
Forgive my double posting - here's my report, though: :dz:
The little indulgences at dinner after the Messiah, combined with having stopped tracking, letting myself eat on the couch = an out-of-control day on Monday and scrambling to get OP again since. And I find myself stressed and depressed -- so much for "treats," huh. Back to working it again and expect spirits to lift soon. DH's staff party tonight. There'll be a buffet but I never have trouble with it. I'll get turkey and salad and veggies. And then they're treating us to a musical show. Bet we sneak away at intermission ;) Tara, welcome! Looking forward to getting to know you. Carri, snow is pretty, I agree. But why does it have to be so cold? Liz, happy belated birthday! You're a spring chicken -- why, I've got a son almost as old as you. Mel, 14s! That's fantastic! And I always find Old Navy sizes smallish, too. Auntie g, how long did it take you to lose the 100? Amazing. Keeping on tracking to keep on track? You might have something there -- I'll try it! K, I'm going home for lunch. Tummy a'rumbling. Let's make this a good one! |
Oops.
Sorry I'm just now replying. I dont get the emails when someone posts so I had no idea that I had a few replies and welcomes. SO THANKS! ;)
I'm really looking forward to being a part of a group, I think it will really help. I'm definitely excited about joining WW, but as terrible as it sounds, I'm not even going to try to start until after Christmas. I guess I want to have one last splurge before I start. Once I am in diet mode, I find that I do best when I dont allow myself to have small cheats because I feel that if I take 1 bite of chocolate...then I'll end up eating an entire candy bar. So I have to mentally prepare for no sugar, no bread, etc. Or maybe that's just my excuse to eat what I want for 2 more weeks. Either way...that's my story and I'm sticking to it! I look forward to getting to know each of you more! Thanks again for the welcome! Tara |
Happy Friday ladies!!
Arabella - That makes me feel good that you say Old Navy fits smallish, because I had been fitting into 10`s and the 10`s I bought there gave me a massive muffin top! lol Oh well they`re now my next target pants. Carri - YAY for the colts (no offense to anyone who may like another team - I just honestly don`t really care who wins!! :))! And send some snow my way, I want Jacob to be able to build a snowman. :) Tara - Getting mentally prepared is a really good idea. I did a lot of self talk before I started about why I wanted to lose weight and really got myself into that place. I would caution on having a diet mentality though - it really needs to be a lifetime thing - which I have no doubt you realize but thought I would throw it out there! Hope everybody is having a great day - so far so good here! Weigh in, 2 pounds down, so YAY! I really need to start buying some more clothes, hardly anything fits me anymore. I only have 2 pairs of pants right now and hardly any tops that fit me. Good excuse to shop - I actually find it kind of confusing though, having more stores to choose from than just one!! So silly - but I have been shopping in plus size stores for like 20 years, so this is a whole new scary world. I think I need to find a shopping buddy! |
Liz- I hope that the fireplace gets done soon! And congrats on the 2 pound loss!
Carri-Hope you have a great weekend and not to much snow. They said 1-3 inches here too but I don't think it will be that bad. Arabella- Good luck at the party, and I'm sure you will be back on track in no time! Hi Auntie and Tara! I'm hoping to have a good weigh in tmw since I have been under calories and OP all week! |
Hi all! Still mostly OP, but tomorrow we're hitting Red Robin (yummmm) for DH's b-day, which isn't til next weekend, but we can't fit it in then. I've been good enough that I think it would be OK, except that it won't be the only eating fiasco in the near future. I'm supposed to take my friend out to breakfast for her b-day on Sunday, but hopefully that will get postponed. And of course next weekend holds 2 birthday parties, and most likely that Christmas fudge making will begin. Groan...
Liz, hope that fireplace gets finished up quick! That will be awesome when it's done! Congrats on the -2 lbs, too! I think it would be a good idea to get yourself a shopping buddy who knows how to shop in "normal" stores. In addition to knowing the lay of the land, sometimes a second set of eyes will get you to try on something that you would never have considered, and you'll make a fabulous new discovery! Carri, I shouldn't, but I must say that the Dove peanut butter filled are what somehow made it into my house last, and oh, boy! Enough about that... Congrats to the Colts, and good luck, as long as they're not playing the Eagles! ;) We'd have to make it to the Superbowl for me to get away with wearing my jersey to work. My boss is not a sports fan and isn't amused by my dressing that way, but if we're in the Bowl, I'm doing it anyway! Arabella, yay, you're back! I was getting concerned... I know when I'm MIA that it's usually bad news. But today's a new day, and we're tracking! As for how long it took to lose 100 lbs last time, I think it was a bit over a year. Maybe 14 months? I've never been committed enough to exercise, so no BL numbers for me! But the lesson is that it definitely can be done! Tara, oh, how many times I've had that "last splurge" before the diet, and I'm not even going to try to convince you otherwise. Enjoy it, get mentally prepared, and go get 'em after the holidays! Ya know, I used to feel like you said about not allowing little "cheats"- I looked at it like being a drug addict, and just a little would lead to more. Now of course that IS sometimes how it works, LOL, but eventually I realized that I don't want to go forever without chocolate. It's OK to work in a little bit of the good/bad stuff here and there. The trick is to NOT let it turn into a huge free for all. Alas, my one day Thanksgiving cheat did last for 5 days, so I don't necessarily practice what I preach, but it's still good advice! :dizzy: Mel, good luck with tomorrow's WI! Tomorrow's my day, too, so see ya then! ;) Catch ya'll later! |
5 lbs down today! I guess all the running around at work I've been doing must have counted as exercise! :carrot::carrot::carrot:
Off to get this busy day started. Have a great weekend, everyone! |
Auntie- Congrats on 5 pounds!!!!! :carrot: Sounds like thats a great start to your weekend!
I weighed in at 196.2! So down 1.6 for the week, I haven't lost more then a pound a week since mid November so I am happy. Guess all the strict dieting worked :) 195 you're going down!! lol Hope everyone has a great weekend :) Quick edit: I just saw on my new ticker I've lost 45 pounds yay! :yay: |
auntie g - OH MY!! Congrats on 5 pounds down!! What a satisfying ticker change, lol.
Mel - WOO HOO to you too!! :) 45 pounds gone, that's awesome!! Hope everybody has a great weekend, we're doing our tree tonight (FINALLY) and tomorrow my family is having a birthday dinner for me. Pizza & cake, I'm going to have to eat pretty lightly through the day to have room in my calorie budget!! |
Thanks, Mel and Liz! This morning I was feeling great, but after Red Robin today, I'm still feeling stuffed 9 hours later... And now my friend just called and tomorrow's breakfast out is on. I'm going to have to really make some cutbacks the rest of the week!
Mel, congrats on your WI and getting to -45! That's awesome! Liz, did you get the tree done? Don't worry about the pizza and cake- birthday meals don't count when it's YOUR birthday! ;) |
auntie - Yes we got it done and the dog has only tried to pull off the decorations 4 times so far today. Sigh. I see a long road ahead until Christmas time - darn puppies! lol
An NSV today...I was walking into church and my sister & her husband were doing the greeting, I stopped to talk to her husband and then walked to where my sister was a few feet away, and she said she actually didn't recognize me right away when I was talking to Blair. I liked that!! We see each other frequently so she knows that I've lost a lot of weight, but I think it was the new top I was wearing that threw her off. |
