Shad 09-20-2010 04:57 PM

Well this has just managed to stuff up my day and it has hardly started yet.
This was on facebook, 3FC site. 3 Fat Chicks On A Diet! One man is going to try to use temporary insanity due to too much caffeine from soda and energy drinks as his reason for killing his wife. Is this a legitimate defense?

I'm am thinking that I might just delete this contact from my facebook. It's got nothing to do with food, dieting and success with weight loss and everything to do with giving a complete d*ckhead publicity for something for which he should be put to death. For the life of me I will never understand the legal system for trying to win at all costs and to trample the truth in the rush for the silliest defence plea.
Okay - end of rant.

Mel - sounds like you and I have been doing the same sort of thing. I've chucked heaps of clothes, shoes and rubbish that I have been hoarding for years yesterday. Lucky DS2 didn't sit still for long or he might have got chucked too.
Tell Richie that the best money these days is to be found in the dirtiest menial jobs. Everyone wants to be a model, singer, it genius, or CEO of a company within a week of becoming employed. So keep on, keeping on, do a good job and be pleasant to all the *******s. He'll get work. Just got to keep a strong stomach.

Ceejay - new washer and dryer is good. These days they only have an eight to ten year working life. They are only warrantied over here for 7 seven years now.

Laura - Sounds like a busy weekend for you. Glad you enjoyed it and had fun. No doubt we will catch up on facebook again some other time.

Michelle - good to hear that the back is feeling better. I hope you enjoy your time away searching for geodes. Fossicking is fun.

Annie - good to see you back again. How did the dinner go? Good luck also with the job. I hope this doesn't mean that you get to do 3 jobs - 2 for humana and 1 for CVS. You'll be a walking zombie.
Loved the story of the Grandson. Can just imagine a little one saying those things.

Well better go. I'm on a roll with the house cleaning and clearing. Now I have to get this room ready for Chris. So today will be busy as well. Gym first and then work. Then I suppose I had better get onto finding some work for me.

annie175 09-20-2010 11:13 PM

Shad you are such an inspiration with the gym first every morning then all the work you do around your house.....I have two closets that need some serious attention, maybe if I put you in charge it would get cleaned out.

Chelle..sorry your are in pain, but maybe the end results will be better. keeping fingers crossed for you my dear. Glad ole Dop is doing so well.

MEL...wow I am ever proud of all your accomplishments lately....exercising and cleaning out and getting rid of....rock on.

Hey to everyone else, I can't go back to previous page without losing this post....don't want to start over...

Came home from CVS starved for real food and not junk so made a mexican omelet. Was quite yummy, ate the whole thing, except the bite that Hella begged off of me. The little wench. Finishing up a short bloody Mary then hitting the hay. Hope I can sleep tonight as I am so tired. Sometimes when I am this tired, I play h*ll getting any rest at all.

I am finding it hard to hold my tongue when ppl p*ss me off or rub me the wrong way. I think the full moon and halloween around the corner has me being wicked ahead of time. lol

Have a great night sleep and wonderful day, Shad.

Thank you for all your concern, I feel like such a with all my beeaching, whining and whoa is me.

Love and hugs,

ceejay52 09-21-2010 09:28 AM

Nothing new going on in my corner of the world. Back later.

diyana 09-21-2010 09:44 AM

Happy Tuesday ladies!

I'm so happy it's my Thursday! Just gotta get through today and tomorrow and then I'll have a lovely 4 day weekend! I realized last night that even though my back was just a little sore off an on during the day...I had taken NOTHING for it. Not prescription meds, not even Aleve...and I didn't use my TENS device. So overall, that's pretty darn amazing!! I just popped a couple Aleve though to try and get rid of the migraine I woke up with. Why the crap am I getting migraines so often? I haven't had frequent migraines like this in years! Go figure, I get one issue nearly fixed and another pops up. :faint: I have PT at lunchtime today, and they'll be doing traction, which means I'll be using the TENS device this afternoon.

Doppler has a follow-up appointment with the vet today. I, of course, hope it goes well, and I also hope that we can cut back on some of Doppler's eye drops. I feel guilty about saddling DMIL with his medication regimen for 4 days. I just hate to impose on people.

While we are out of town on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I'll have to work to make the best possible food choices on the road. DH is planning on taking advantage of the hotel's free continental breakfast while we're out of town, and then eating lunch at the end of the day. I don't know how to break it to him, but....I need to be sure and have protein in the morning and not just sugar-spiking carbs, and I'll need to eat something at mid-day to keep my blood sugar steady.

Annie - I loved your "Never Lose Your Grandson" post. Hysterical! Best of luck with the other position! I hope you get it, if it's what you want. And I hope you got a good night's sleep last night. Too funny about the full moon and Halloween causing you to be "wicked". I think Doppler being on Prednisone eye drops is causing me to eat more and be more beotchy...of course, it could be all the steroids they pumped into my spine on Friday. I'm waiting for my spine to get all muscle-bound, and 'roided up.

Laura - That's way cool that your bf helps friends/family purchase cars. Glad you had a good time at the Bobby Darin tribute. I used to get frustrated about all the stuff I didn't accomplish each weekend...but since my back has been bothering me, and I've been sidelined due to the shots...I now congratulate myself for getting the absolute necessities done. And when I have more energy/time and less pain, I'll do more. I totally understand about the difference between Biz Casual for work and Biz Casual for a conference. I have a limited wardrobe that fits, and therefore, I'm not that fashionable at work.

Ceejay - Good for you for planning your meals and not stopping at fast food. Great idea to put your overtime pay into your Christmas club account. It sounds like you could use a new washer/dryer.

Mel - Hope you're having a productive day shopping and at the office. Don't overdo it, my worldly sista friend. I need to clear out clothes too. I have a core set of clothes that I wear over and over, and I don't ever really touch the other stuff. I need to either donate it or at least put it in totes in the basement to free up space in my closet. I think you, Shaddie and Laura are our exercise :queen: , but I hope to be reclaiming the crown (or at least sharing it with y'all) by next month.

Shad - I didn't see that stupid defense on the 3FC FB. I wish I could bring you over to my house to help with clearing. Sounds like you're doing a great job and getting lots accomplished at your house. If you go to Indy to help Annie, I don't live that far (just a short plane ride or a few hours drive), and you could stop and help Laura get even more organized on your way north. ;) When does Chris arrive?

I'd better sign off for now and get some stuff done. Ciao bellas.

annie175 09-21-2010 12:17 PM

Chelle...hope you are feeling great for you mini vacation and get to rock hunt. What do you do with the rocks you find? Do you have a rock garden? Just curious. I, myself love rocks, all my flower beds and trees are surrounded by rocks, then I have a rock bed leading out to the driveway. THat is where all the gnomes congregate. lol

Have fun on your vacay.

Be safe, love and hugs sista.

diyana 09-21-2010 03:15 PM

Annie - I hope you're having a great day!! We do use the bigger rocks we find as beautiful borders for our gardens. We have rocks that have HUGE crystals, rocks with cool fossils, and after this weekend geodes to add to the collection. When we find smaller rocks, like the agates we found in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan or DH found in California, we use a rock tumbler to polish them and place them on shelves indoors for decoration. We also have a friend who makes jewelry...so we pass some of the smaller, more gem quality rocks on to her. We also have clear glass vases, and rather than use the colored glass "marbles" in them, we use beautifully polished agates.

1/2 hour left of work today (then taking Doppler to the vet), and 1 more day of work tomorrow, then a fun vacay.

Shad 09-21-2010 05:44 PM

Morning all,
Got a letter from the Doctor the other day asking me to come back and see him within 4 weeks. So I will toddle down there today and decorate his waiting room only to be probably told that the sugar levels are up 2 points or whatever. This really annoys me. But today, I shall not allow anyone to really bug me. I shall remain calm and focussed on Chris's visit which will do more for my blood pressure than any medical waiting room or job recruitment person.

Speaking of recruitment - yesterday I got turned down for a job because I did not have enough experience in Team Lead roles. How many team lead jobs have I had??? 4? 5? and most for the company which I was interviewing for. The recruiter was amazed, I just laughed. I've got to the point where I don't care and certainly don't take it personally.

So today I must get into the spare room and clean out the clutter, dust and sweep and change the bed. Then I need to decide where to put the air conditioners that DS2 has stored in there prior to installing them in the bedrooms. Bloody big boxes. Heavy too.

Annie - I'm not such and inspiration. You ought to hear the self talk before the event occurs. There is a real conscience war going on here between me and me. I'm done for the week now. I have decided not to push it too hard since I am not as young as I used to be and it is taking longer for the body to recover so 4 or 5 times a week will be it. Speak your tongue - we are allowed to be eccentric at times.

Michelle - how nice to be going away for the weekend. I hope you have a wonderful time and can sort out the food wrangle. I'm sure you will. Doppler will be fine with the mil.
The only rocks around here are in my head!

Ceejay - life being quiet over your way is it? Well that is better than the noisy neighbours and revving cars.

Mel's gone off with Willy shopping and Laura hasn't managed to get in - maybe she is on a conference or something.

And of course Happy is get laid back in New Hampshire or somewhere.

Okay - time to get on the bike and go visit the bl**dy doctor. See you later.

MELODY525 09-21-2010 06:16 PM

Shad 09-21-2010 07:59 PM

Back from the Bl**dy doctor. Problem was that I saw a different one last time and not my usual since he was out fishing. Today was my usual man. So my cholesterol is 5.9 down from 7 (keep doing whatever you are doing)
Sugar levels are perfect (keep doing whatever you are doing)
Thyroid is perfect
Blood pressure is perfect (keep doing whatever you are doing)
Uric Acid levels slightly elevated - have you got a sore toe? No. Then thats okay then. Just get on with living.

Having got that confirmation from the doc., I think that is exactly what I might do.
Let's start thinking about a trip overseas. Where would I like to go??

Laura705 09-21-2010 08:18 PM

Hi everyone. Not quite Wednesday Mel!

Ceejay - Enjoy the quiet in your corner of the world. Definitely sounds like it's time for a new washer/dryer. Good use of the OT pay.

Shad - Company's always a good motivator for cleaning up, LOL. Sorry about not getting the job - astounded by the reason. Shaking my head.

Annie - Good luck with the possible new job. Would it make it possible to quit CVS? Your omelette sounded delish.

Mel - Sorry the shopping trip wasn't ideal, but at least you have the necessities!! :D Don't work too hard tomorrow!!! :nono:

Yup, I had the conference today. Rather disappointed in the educational sessions. Two out of the five did not really cover what the title/description indicated. Lame. But I survived. After a day of that, I skipped the happy hour afterwards, and was glad I turned down a couple dinner invitations I'd received in advance. Not much for networking anyway...

I also skipped the movie tonight because I wasn't up for more driving and the movie selected was somewhat early and not close to home, and I didn't want to deal w/ rush hour traffic and the storms that came through. It got strangely warm today (high 80's), but now it's cooled down after the storm. I think it's going to warm up again tomorrow and/or the next day. I'll take it!

Not the exercise queen the past two weeks. I'll probably not exercise tonight (just because) or tomorrow (I'm donating blood). Thursday for sure!!

Tomorrow the conference ends around 1-ish and I'll work at home in the afternoon. If the vpn cooperates. Talked w/ IT the other day and they confimed it went down last week when I was trying to work at home.

TTFN!

diyana 09-22-2010 08:24 AM

Hi ladies -

Doppler's vet visit went very well. The vet is thrilled at how well Doppler is healing! He got permission to go "cone-free" two days early due to "good behavior". He still won't be able to run or jump or play for another 3 weeks...but he's thrilled that now he can demand and receive proper ear scratching!!

Today after work, I'm going to run to WalMart for some last minute trip supplies (like a gardening cushion to sit/kneel on - if I can find one this time of year). Then I have to get everything packed. I'd like to say that I'm usually more organized than this when it comes to packing. Oh well, at least we're only going to be gone a few days and the wardrobe will be jeans, jean shorts and t-shirts - nothing that can get wrecked by getting dirty or muddy.

Last night, I was so happy to finally find my industrial strength - OSHA approved back brace and it still fits! Wow, is it supportive! Just what this chick needs this weekend! Between the brace, my TENS device, Aleve and prescription meds...I should make it through ok. And if not, I've got PT on Monday...so they can put me back together!

Shad - I'm glad everything went well at the doctor visit! Obviously, you're doing all the right things! :bravo: That's crazy that you were turned down for a team lead position!! Glad you don't take it personally. And, my friend, you ARE an inspiration! You workout several days a week AND get more done around the house and yard than anyone I know. Happy is relaxing in northern Wisconsin. Hopefully enjoying some lovely quiet time and gorgeous fall colors. As for that trip overseas...are you thinking the U.S.? Or taking a job in a beautiful, exotic location?

Mel - So sorry to hear about your panic attack. At least you got the bare essentials at the store. It's ALWAYS better to have too much TP than not enough. I hope you are doing better now! Don't push yourself so hard, sista, and enjoy some rest and relaxation as soon as you can. I've been wondering if the migraines are being triggered by the traction even though nothing is pulling on my neck. Essentially, they pull me apart at the waist/torso area. It's supposed to make room between my lumbar vertebrae to allow room for the disks to get "sucked" back into place so they don't bulge anymore. The combination of the traction and shots is helping.

Laura - Bummer that the conference was a bit of a disappointment. We had the warm, muggy weather up here too, and t-storms in the afternoon. But I know the storms you got down your way were A LOT bigger. At least your IT dept. was able to confirm that VPN was down and it wasn't anything you did. I always hate that feeling. I hope you have a better morning at the conference and a productive afternoon from home.

Time to get some work done!

A big  and  to all,

MELODY525 09-22-2010 08:56 AM

http://bronih.blogs.splitcoaststampe...day-button.jpg
HAPPY WEDNESDAY AGAIN....I'M BACK!

TOO MUCH INSANITY FOR ME DOWNSTAIRS. I LEFT BEFORE ANYONE ACTUALLY GOT THERE. NO ONE REALLY NEEDS ME......SO I LEFT. BACK TO MY LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN. IT'S SUMMER ALL OVER AGAIN FOR A FEW DAYS. TEMPS BACK IN THE 80'S. GOING OUT LATER TO SOAK UP SOME SUN. HAVE A GREAT DAY.

SHAD...WAS HE ASKING BECAUSE OF GOUT HITS THE BIG TOE?? I AM VERY GLAD TO HEAR YOU DID SO WELL AND WAS WONDERING LAST NIGHT WHY THEY WANTED YOU BACK. CONGRATULATIONS ON THE GOOD NUMBERS! :encore:

LAURA....YOU CAN BE THE EXERCISE QUEEN NEXT WEEK. YOU'VE BEEN BUSY WITH WORK TOO. SORRY THE CONFERENCE WASN'T WHAT IT WAS ADVERTISED TO BE....HOPE YOU GET TO DO THE WORK AT HOME. VPN???I'LL HAVE TO GOOGLE THAT TERM:rofl: AFTER ALL...I HAVEN'T EVEN FIGURED OUT WHAT "IT" IS!! :lol3: :lol3:

MICHELLE...TRY NOT TO GET TOO CARRIED AWAY LEST YOU END UP IN A WEEKS WORTH OF TRACTION:rofl:  STAY WELL & HAVE FUN. GLAD YOU FOUND THE BRACE:cheer2:

 HELLO TO ANNIE & CEEJAY!

annie175 09-22-2010 11:17 AM

SH*T, H*LL, P*SS and D*MN and WTF....they are considering bringing back a former laid off employee for that position I am shooting for, if that happens, well h*ll.

diyana 09-22-2010 01:14 PM

Mel - Glad you were able to escape the insanity!

Annie - I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya' that you'll get the position. :crossed:

Laura705 09-22-2010 05:21 PM

Shad - Glad your numbers came back good - must have been the other doctor causing those bad results, right?

Mel - Glad you didn't have to stay in the office amidst the crazy chaos. Enjoy the sun. :sunny: We've got a cool day today sandwiched between two warm days. VPN is virtual private network, and all I know is that it allows me (sometimes) to connect to my employer's network and get into e-mail and files I need.

Annie - Still hoping you get that position you applied for.

Michelle - So today's your Friday I think. Hope you have a wonderful time geode hunting. :) Glad you found the back brace, and hope you find a gardening cushion. If not, stop by on the way to St. Louis and borrow mine, LOL.

The last three sessions of the conference this morning were "just okay" - none of the choices were of utmost interest to me. And I didn't win anything in the raffle they held right at the end of the conference. Boo. On the way home, I stopped by a book club friend's house and picked up the book for Saturday's meeting. Yup, better read this one quickly! This is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper. Reportedly it's a quick read and funny. My friend also went to the movie last night and yup, they got caught in the storm and traffic that I thankfully chose to avoid. I ended up watching some telly, including DWTS results. David Hasselhoff got booted.

Anyway, after a bit of chat while picking up the book, then coming home and then going out w/ bf for lunch, I didn't get online until about 3:30. Oops. E-mail took its time loading. Not going to get much done today, so heck, why not catch up here and post? :D

Tonight is a blood donation appt, and then I'll stop to pick some stuff up at Trader Joe's next door. Tomorrow at work we'll be spending some time freeing up some of our file drawers and two empty cubicles (we currently have some boxes in them). The other group we merged with is moving down to our floor and needs space. I guess some other people on our floor are shifting around as well. We're going more and more with electronic files over paper, so I think we can free up the requested space w/o too much trouble.

Well, I better quit rambling and get back to the e-mail. TTFN!

ceejay52 09-22-2010 06:12 PM

Afternoon
Checking in without anything important to say. My five 12 hour day strentch is coming to a close. I can''t wait for 7 p.m.

Annie
I'll say a little prayer for you tonight concerning the job.

Michelle
When are you leaving or the rock hunt adventure? I loved rock hunting in my younger years. I gave my collection to my nephew. I still have one rock that looks like a fosslized ostrich egg ready to hatch. I'd love to see what is inside of it. The one thing on my "bucket list" is to go diamond hunting in the diamond mine here in Arkasnas.

Mel
It's gotten hot in the South again too. Enjoy the sun both don't over heat. Don't think the humidity is as bad this time aroound either.

Laura
I have to say I admire people who donate blood. That's one thing I've never done. Good for you. I haven't gotten into Dancing with the Stars this year.

Shad
You must be doing something right if your blood test come out this good. What part of the world are you considering to visit this time?

Shad 09-22-2010 06:24 PM

Morning all,

Better get this done before I forget again. I'm really getting grumpy about my weight. Can't seem to stop this upward slide. I'm thinking that maybe it is the muscles taking up the slack again and the fat not melting away but it sure is depressing.
But at least today the sun is out. The garden is growing at the rate of knots and the flowers are appearing on the tomato plants which we only planted three weeks ago. My Pohutukawa (NZ Christmas Bush (oh no, there is that word again)) is about to burst into flower just in time for Chris' visit which is next week.

The company I spent so much time whingeing about having nothing to do, has offered me more work - until end of December. I really don't want to do it, but it's work and no one else has come up with anything concrete.
I've been dealing with a man in WA who wants to put my cv in for a job over there. It sounds remarkably like the job I was just turned down for. I will be on to him today because I need something concrete if I am to turn down the offer of work. Mick has a weeks work lined up for me at the end of October but that won't be enough to keep me for the rest of the year.

Also it is my warrant of fitness year and I have scheduled a boob squish for next Monday and skin scan for November - believe it or not I can't get an appointment before then.

Laura - always amazes me that these conferences are never quite what you imagine them to be when you read the agenda. It seems like a waste of time really. Hope the VPN works for you. Rarely works for me.

Michelle - Good for Doppler. Lets hope his healing continues as smoothly. Glad you found the back brace. I hope you find a cushion or garden kneeler to help with the fossicking. I always find that the local foam rubber shop hasthese big sheets of thick foam rubber and I can get them to cut off a pad which is knee size or pillow size for a reasonable price. Don't know whether you have those type of stores over there.

Mel - Yes it was gout he was thinking of, but since few women actually get gout he wasn't that excited about it. It seems that if I do get some form of gout they need to reassess the diuretic that I use. But it is okay. I remember my dad having gout. It wasn't pretty.
Good for you for leaving the office and coming back upstairs.

Annie - It takes all sorts to work out what they want a person to do in a job. I can't count the number of times I have looked at an advertised job and thought I can do that - only to find it wasn't what the advert said. The person that they are looking at - did they do the job previously? If so there is your answer. They will bring them back and pay them less. Sorry about the annoyance. It would have helped if they had advertised in house and then gone outside if they couldn't find what they are looking for.

Ceejay - Hi, are you out looking for furniture or washing machines?? Or just busy at work and nothing to say?

Okay - better go and get on with the workloard. Got to find somewhere to put these aircons until we can get them installed. See you later.

Shad 09-22-2010 06:26 PM

And so saying, there she is, sneaking in on me. Hi Ceejay.
The trip is yet just a germ of an idea. I have to try to sort out what is on the list of priorities and what needs to be added to the bucket list.

MELODY525 09-23-2010 09:19 AM

ceejay52 09-23-2010 11:27 AM

Morning all
Got up this morning and I didn't have to go to work, yeah. I may have made my co-worker mad and I really don't like leaving notes but I had to tell her one more time that I'm not her boss, the boss is. I told her my routine and that's it. She asked for day's now live with it and learn, like I did. She wants the easy way out and make herself look like she know it all.
Took my temperature again this morning and it was above 100 degree's. Took a couple of Tylenol. Do not want to wait until my doctor returns from his vacation so I called urgent care in Jonesboro and have an appointment at 2.30. I think I need some antibiotics. I'd planned on going to Jonesboro today to get the wind shield wiper for the back window that Toyota had to order. I invited my neighbor to go with me. We like to eat at Ron's Catfish. They have a buffet spread that you wouldn't believe.

Shad
I'm with Mel. Take the job and sit and look pretty. Most people would jump at this chance.

Mel
I don't like meetings either especially if they are required. Glad Jen is feeling better. Enjoy the sunshine.

Laura
I like quick read books. May need to check this one out. I bought some paper back books at a flea market at the high school I attended. I've started one book.

more later.

Laura705 09-23-2010 11:33 AM

Morning all!

Ceejay - Glad your workweek is amost over - 12-hour days would be an adjustment for me. But I wouldn't mind working four 10-hour days instead of 5 8's...

Shad - Hope some other work option pops up if you're not excited about the current offer. Enjoy your gardening season! I'm still harvesting veggies, but one of my to-dos is to start cutting back the foliage of my phlox, hibiscus and peonies as they are done.

Mel - Sorry your shoulder is sore - hope the meds help. Hope you enjoy the sunshine while you've got it!! :sunny: Maybe it'll help your shoulder feel better. :) My TJ visit was good. I picked up a couple new items. One is super thin cherry-chocolate biscotti; another is Irish breakfast tea in which to dunk the biscotti, and another is frozen Tom Yum soup. Bf loves Tom Yum soup when we go out for Thai - wondering how this stuff will measure up. Also, September is the month where we show our library card and get discounts at local businesses, so I got a free reusable shopping bag from TJ's. Good - now I don't have to go in there with my Whole Foods bags, LOL. Hope the monthly meeting is short and sweet tonight!!

We just met to plan how we'll go from 60 file drawers to 40 by tomorrow. Turns out the whole floor is going to be moved around, except our department - we just have to free up file space for the newly merged half of our group moving down to be with us.

I brought my workout gear today, so I'll probably go to the FC around 1:30. I'm now 1/4 through the book club book, and it's good - humorous. I'm sure I'll finish it by Saturday night.

Okay, better get down to business.

Shad 09-23-2010 09:43 PM

Morning all,

Yesterday I took the job with the old company since the others could not come up with any reasonable answers for me and this was put on the table. As you have all said, it is not onerous work and quite probably no one will know what to do with me anyway. C'est la vie. I start on Monday, have Monday afternoon off for a boob squish and go back Tuesday and Wednesday and then Have a week off with Chris. Should give them plenty of time to get some sh*t together for me.

I've been to the gym, done a couple of loads of washing and am about to embark on some picture hanging - this will be fun since it is a tryptech (3 paintings to be hung as one and they need to be level. The kid who is doing my garden sent a text to come on Saturday instead of Sunday but I have put him off for the weekend since the only thing that really needs doing is the lawn (10 minutes work) a bit of weeding (maybe 15 minutes) and the hedge - another hour. I have been keeping on top of the yard and haven't yet worked out where the big new garden in the front will go. So with DS2 going out west to the B&S Ball and no L I will have a quiet weekend to get ready for Chris.

Mel - we are getting rain. Supposed to clear for the weekend but it is not looking too promising yet. I hope it does because I've got washing to dry.

Laura - chocolate cherry biscotti - sounds like fun. I like cherries and they go well with dark chocolate - that's if the chocolate hasn't melted before I eat all the cherries.

Ceejay - hope you are feeling better now. I did take your advice.

Okay - time to go clean up in the loo and laundry. I'll be back later.

MELODY525 09-24-2010 08:26 AM

:dancer: HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!
I NEVER MADE THE MEETING. I CALLED IN SICK AND VOTED BY PHONE. I HAD SO MANY ACHES & PAINS THAT IT WAS PATHETIC! :lol3: THEN TOOK PILLS AND WENT TO BED. FELLING BETTER TODAY BUT I AM NOT SHARING THAT INFO DOWNSTAIRS:nono: JEN WENT TO THE STORE AND PICKED UP ALL OUR WEEKEND STUFF. I NEEDED PRODUCE. NOW WE'RE ALL SET.
HAVE A GREAT DAY & WEEKEND :moped:

CEEJAY....LUNCH SOUNDED GREAT. HOPE YOU GOT THE WIPER. AND YES...STICKING UP FOR YOURSELF IS A GOOD THING. GOOD FOR YOU. HAVE GREAT DAYS OFF!

LAURA....DID YOU GET TO GO TO THE GYM? HAD A LAUGH AT THE FREE BAG AT TJ'S VS WHOLE FOODS BAG:rofl: IN THE BEGINNING I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM TILL I BOUGHT SOME:lol3: MY MAINT. SUPERVISOR LOVES THAT TEA. I GET HIM A BOX ONCE AND AWHILE ESPECIALLY AFTER WE FIGHT!! :lol3: :lol3:

SHAD....DOING THE HAPPY DANCE FOR YOU AND THE NEW CONTRACT...NOW MAKE SURE YOU BRING A GOOD BOOK, MAYBE A DECK OF CARDS AND WE'LL THINK OF OTHER THINGS FOR YOU TO TAKE ALONG TO KEEP YOUR MIND OCCUPIED TILL DECEMBER  IT'S GOOD YOU HAVE TIME TO MAKE READY FOR CHRIS. HOW HAS SHE BEEN? OBVIOUSLY DOING WELL IF SHE CAN TRAVEL. BET YOU GUYS MISS EACH OTHER. WEREN'T YOU BOTH SUPPOSED TO TRAVEL AGAIN SOMEPLACE IF SHE GOT WELL?? WAS IT EUROPE? I WAS THINKING OF HER THE OTHER DAY WHEN YOU FIRST POSTED ABOUT THE UPCOMING VISIT.

ceejay52 09-24-2010 12:47 PM

I did make it to Jonesboro and back yesterday. I really like this doctor at Urgent Care. My left sinus has an infection. Told him that I was still bascially getting over sinus surgery. He kinda shook his head and said that this didn't always hold up. Then explained that for me I was getting to the point I couldn't breathe. He gave me three rx's and and injection that had penicillin and a steroid in it. His nurse said that I would feel better with in the next hour and I did, but my fever may come back up during the night. She didn't tell me that I'd have a sleepless night. my aunt always tells me she does this after a steriod injection. Finally sleep came around 4 this morning and I was awake again by 7.20. I was suprised that my pay check was not already at the door. It did get here around 8.30 a.m.

Shad
Hope you are not to miserable at this job. Don't hit me if you get to bored. But I look at the pay check. Do you have access to the computers they are working on? May be you could get some ideas as to what they are wanting you to do. Mel has some good options for when you are bored!

Mel
Yes, stopped by the Toyota dealership and they had the wiper waiting for me. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. The dealership is very close to
to Urgent Care. Glad the aches and pains have subsided.

Laura, Michelle, and Annie  I'll be back to see what you are doing.

Laura705 09-24-2010 01:05 PM

Hello all! TGIF. Getting to work was a challenge thanks to another train accident further up the line - pedestrian vs. train, ended in a fatality to the ped. I didn't wait around the station long since it had just happened and there were delays of unknown duration. I went home and had bf drive me to a Blue Line stop (subway/elevated train) and got to the office shortly after 10 am.

Shad - Well, work is work when it comes down to getting the bills paid. Hopefully this project is well-organized and your assignments are ready for you on Monday. Hope the picture hanging went well and all are level - at the same level, lol.

Mel - Glad you skipped the meeting - you just need to rest and let those aches get bored and go away. :D I like strong black tea, so I hope the TJ Irish tea does the trick for me. And now I have a testimonial of sorts. :)

Ceejay - Hope your fever went down and you're feeling better. Did you get the antibiotics. Bummer that you feel bad on your day off!

Annie - Wazzup lady?? Hope all is well in your world. It's Friday and so things are looking up!!

I did the elliptical for 30 min. yesterday. It was hot, humid and really windy when I went home and after walking cycling w/ my backpack AND gym bag, I just didn't want to do anything else, so I didn't. Dinner was BLT sandwiches w/ the T from the garden. Delish.

Have book club tomorrow evening, so I have to make something for that. Not sure what. I've only got about 100 pages left to read, so I should finish the book before the meeting, no problem.

Okay, taking my book and going off to lunch now. Have a good weekend all.

Laura705 09-24-2010 01:07 PM

Ceejay, you snuck in on me again. Boy, they drugged you up good yesterday, huh?! Hope you're feeling better. Make sure you take a nap to make up for lost sleep!!

annie175 09-24-2010 04:15 PM

This has been the week from h*LL. The emotions are in a rampage. Make fair warning to all having babies, do not, repeat do not have a Gemini baby. We are not right in the head and too freakin emotional. Something has to give in my brain before I go nuts...I am miserable the majority of the time.

ceejay52 09-24-2010 09:52 PM

Annie
Hope things settle down.

Laura
Oh no, you don't hear of that many train wrecks. Too sad that involved a pedestrian. Honestly I've done very well on 2.5 hours sleep. I do feel better. It's 8.30 p.m. now and it's getting vvery hard to hold my eyes open.

i've been outside trimming some more on the bushes. my neighbor trimmed hers. had a bit of a scare with one of the rx's. When i got home I notice a different doctor and a different med so I took it back and asked the pharmacist. cocmes to find out my insurance said no go on the payment of Leviquin and the doctor I saw wasn't there today so another doctor re prescribed it. whew.

i'm taking a shower and going to bed. night night

MELODY525 09-25-2010 07:42 AM

cofdate: GOOD MORNING LADIES OF THE WORLDLY TYPE!

CEEJAY...I AM GAD TO READ THAT THE DR IS A GOOD ONE AND HE KNOWS HIS STUFF. HOPE THE MEDS ALL WORK THEIR MAGIC AND YOU FEEL MUCH BETTER SOON...AND GET SOME SLEEP!!! ALWAYS GOOD TO BE CAUTIOUS WITH MEDS...JEN HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM THE LAST TIME. THE INS COMPANY REFUSED ONE OF THE DRUGS AND THEY HAD TO CALL FOR ANOTHER SCRIPT. GOOD THING THE BF COULD TAKE YOU TO THE NEXT LINE!! YIKES!! ANOTHER FATALITY. SEEMS THEY'RE ALL OVER THE PLACE LATELY.

ANNIE....YOU HAVE HAD A HUGE AMOUNT OF STRESS AND SADNESS SINCE LAST YEAR. EVERYONE HAS A BREAKING POINT WHERE THEY NEED TO SETTLE DOWN, TAKE DEEP BREATHS AND GET BACK TO BASICS. SLOW YOUR WORLD DOWN A BIT IF YOU CAN AND DON'T BE AFRAID TO ADMIT THAT YOU CAN'T BE WONDER WOMAN EVERY FRIGGING DAY...ASK FOR HELP WHEN & IF YOU CAN. I HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD FRIEND THAT YOU CAN SHARE ALL THAT YOU ARE HOLDING INSIDE. I WISH WE ALL LIVED CLOSE BY FOR THOSE "IN PERSON" HUGS  SENDING LOVE SISTER ANNIE.

ceejay52 09-25-2010 08:02 AM

Morning miss Mel
You are an early bird. I'm going to enjoy this much cooler weather myself.

Spent some time outside yesterday trimming the bushes. Today I'm going to mow he front lawn. Don't have to be in Paragould till 2 this afternoon.

Every one have a good week end.

MELODY525 09-25-2010 11:15 AM

MELS' WEIGHTLOSS JOURNEY (or lack thereof)

My weight has been steadily climbing and I was once again 198.5. That's over 20 lbs since I joined 3FC. So I joined a challenge on Spark People and lost 7 lbs. Then came the face meds which helped me to gain it back.... along with all the comfort foods that went along with feeling sorry for myself.:p

BUT.......I stuck with the challenge and now weigh 196.
Not a big loss but better than continued gaining.

So I thought if I posted it here I would be even more accountable.

My October mission is:

:goodscale 1. Lose as many pounds as I can
(I am NOT stating a number so I won't be disappointed)

:write: 2. Keep journaling

:mag: 3. Watch my calories

:ebike:4. Exercise

 5. Drink water!!!

MELODY525 09-25-2010 11:20 AM

 MORNING MISS JEANETTE....HAVE A SAFE TRIP TO PARAGOULD AND HOPE YOU ENJOY THE VISIT!! TRIMMING & MOWING??? GOOD FOR YOU!! i WENT FOR A SHORT RIDE AND THEN SAT IN THE SUN. WE BOTH NEED TO SOAK UP THE SUN!! :sunny:

Laura705 09-25-2010 02:37 PM

Hello all and happy Saturday/Sunday. :)

Ceejay - Trimming bushes on 2.5 hours sleep?! More power to ya! I'd be dragging butt all day if it were me running on just that amount. Glad the rx was still okay, but scary to think it could be the wrong one they gave you. Have a safe trip to Paragould.

Mel - Enjoy the remaining sunshine and warmth. It's chilly here today, but I'm fine with that. Good October goals, and yay for sticking with the challenge despite the health issues. I have determined my goal by my March '11 physical should be to lose 10% of my weight. I've got 5+ months - plenty of time. Last couple days haven't been good for the water, so good reminder with that goal.

Annie - Sorry it was the week from h*ll for you. I hope you have some "me time" this weekend and spend it doing something that you enjoy and that will relax you. You are so busy w/ the two jobs and dad and house and pet, you need to make sure the limited time to yourself is spent being really good to yourself!

Yesterday was spent mostly on the file project - we had to free up 25 of 60 of our file drawers for the other half of our newly merged group. Ugh. But the boss was willing to part with a lot and if she was willing to toss stuff, so was I, LOL. More to do on Monday, especially consolidating drawers we partially emptied. Jeans day, so I guess that's nice. I'd prefer a sneakers day myself...

Just took my pumpkin loaves out of the oven. :chef: I ended up buying 4 cans of pumpkin last year after they announced a shortage, so I decided it was finally a good time to use some of it. Smells good. :T One loaf will go to the book club tonight. Not sure about the other. Maybe to work, or half to bf's mom.

Okay, more stuff to do. The sun's in and out of the clouds. Not sure if I want to do some garden work right now. Lunch is sounding good about now.

Enjoy your day ladies. :)

Shad 09-25-2010 05:23 PM

Yum, pumpkin bread. Send some my way, Laura

Ceejay - drive safe. Have a good weekend with the family

Mel -
You and me both - with the weight gain. It's just got to come off again. I don't think I can be trusted with a fridge full of goodies and a pantry with the same. Time to get back with it again. Challenge time.

I will probably do better as I go back to work again. I can at least control how much I eat and what I eat when I am there. So I guess it is time to do as Mel is doing.
Chris arrives on Thursday morning. I'm so looking forward to it. Meantime it is back to the house, garden and gym. I'm off down there in a few minutes to do some weight training.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Catch you later.

MELODY525 09-26-2010 07:24 AM

:witch:GOOD SUNDAY MORNING LADIES OF THE HOUSE!

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is NEW SINCE LAST NIGHT.
QUIET WEEKEND....ONLY A FEW ALARMS AND THE A/C IS BACK ON IN THE HALL. TODAY IS ONLY 64 & MY WINDOWS ARE WIDE OPEN :beach:
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY :moped:

LAURA....I COULD SMELL THOSE PUMPKIN LOAVES. YUM AS SHAD SAID! :hun: WE'LL GET THE SWEET CREAMY BUTTER OUT! YOUR BOOK CLUB WILL LOVE THAT. THAT'S A LOT OF FILE WORK TO GET DONE. WHO ENDS UP WITH THE SHREDDING??? WE COULD USE YOU OVER HERE...SENSITIVE MATERIAL IS HANGING OUT ALL OVER THE PLACE. THEY NEED ORGANIZING:faint: BTW...THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA BUYING THE PUMPKIN BEFORE THE SHORTAGE...MANY WOMEN HERE ARE COMPLAINING THEY CANNOT GET ANY NOW! AND WHAT ARE THE HOLIDAYS WITHOUT PUMPKIN!!:ghost:

SHAD...YES THE WEIGHT HAS BEEN CREEPING BACK ON. CAN'T AFFORD TO BE ANY FATTER!! I WON'T FIT IN MY CHAIRS WITH MY WINTER COAT ON!!:lol3: BET YOU CAN'T WAIT TILL THURSDAY. HOPE YOU BOTH HAVE A GREAT TIME. ANY PLANS?? HAPPY WEIGHT TRAINING! :workout:

Laura705 09-26-2010 10:38 AM

Good morning all.

Shad - I agree that being in a routine such as work can help with weight control. I myself have developed some bad habits at work - stopping between train and office for food, making poor choices at lunchtime, etc. Need to work on breaking those. It'll be nice when Chris visits - are you doing that train/garden tour? That sounded nice.

Mel - Glad nothing too exciting happened overnight in the building. Re the file project - for items we're disposing of, we put them in a dumpster (not the giant construction ones, they're like the rolling garbage and recycling bins we have for our house). The dumpster is padlocked w/ only a slot to put the items into (no dumpster diving allowed). The filled dumpster is taken offsite for (hopefully confidential) shredding. Glad we don't have to feed a shredder!!

Book club was pretty good last night, except someone else brought pumkin cake w/ cream cheese frosting. So only one woman ate pumkin loaf - and it was because she didn't want any frosting, lol. Even I didn't have any of mine - someone brought some taffy apple salad and there was chocolate cake because it was someone's b-day and I ate a portion of both of those desserts. As usual, just too much food.

That's okay, I took mine home and I just had a slice with some tea, and I'll definitely be taking one loaf to work tomorrow. Feel free to pop over and have some with your butter, coffee, tea, whatever strikes your fancy. I have other plans for my 3 remaining cans of pumpkin, but I'll hold off on details because I'm already guilty of food porn talking about yesterday's desserts. :D

It was a late night yesterday and then I woke up relatively early today. No real plans, but I have some laundry to do and we need groceries. Whoopee.

Hope you're all doing something more exciting than me today.

ceejay52 09-26-2010 08:37 PM

Laura
The pumkin loaf sounds good. I'm in a mood to bake myself and since it's going to be cooler this week it might get done.

Mel
I'm with you on the challenge. I'm not liking the way I fit into my clothes I'm up a dress/pant size too. and the scale at the doctor's office Thursday confirmed that the pounds are up also, and I want to keep my heart as healthy as possible. I hate to exercise but I'm starting to incorporate that back in to a healthy life style. I don't know why but I detest exercise. Both os my sister's do this on a daily basis. I also need to cut back on calories. I eat more healthy than I used to but still do not use portion control.

Shad
I most definitely agree about routine and I've been working on that this past month.
---------
Had some intestinal issues last night. I'm thinking it's due to the antibiotics.

MELODY525 09-27-2010 07:52 AM

:coffee: GOOD MORNING!
I AM OFF TO MAKE REPORTS AND GET THE WEEK STARTED. SUNDAY WAS THE SAME AS SATURDAY. NOTHING EARTH SHAKING GOING ON OVER HERE. JUST RAINY:rain: I CLEANED OUT THE DRESSER THAT MY TV SITS ON. FILLED AN ENTIRE BUCKET AND THE GUYS WILL TAKE IT DOWN FOR ME TODAY. THAT'S ALL THE NEWS!

THAT DUMPSTER IS WHAT WE NEED TOO. NEVER KNEW THEY WERE LOCKED AND SLOTTED. THAT WOULD BE GREAT!

CEEJAY...THOSE KIND OF PILLS HAVE THE SAME EFFECT ON ME TOO. WATCH YOUR DAIRY. HOPE THE "TUMMY" FEELS BETTER SOON. HOW'S THE NOSE?? I DO WELL WITH MY PORTION SIZES USUALLY BUT I SEEM TO PICK HIGH CALORIE FOODS :faint: WE CAN GIVE OCTOBER OUT BEST SHOT. I'M NOT FOND OF EXERCISE EITHER!!:ebike:
