7/31 CEEJAY'S LAST POST:
"Took my first melatonin last night and believe me it didn't take long for it to kick in. I'm going to have to plan for a full 8 hours of sleep. my aunt called me last night to tell me some stuff. They have been doing some lawn work and her son found a really old medicine bottle that had the doctor's name that delivered me and my sister's. i told her that since it was hot and my ent doesn't want me in the heat very long that I'm passing on coming this week end. She understood. Time to get started for the day. Mel hadn't thought about watching Christmas dvd's in July. And it's good to hear that Jen is feeling and looking better. Sorry you had to deal with the drama. Shad I'm not into sports. Enjoy the game tonight. i do however like to watch Tiger Wood play golf. Every one enjoy the week end. __________________ ceejay weigh in 5/13/10 200 pounds weigh in 7/26/10 196.2 pounds" |

Thanks for sitting up the new thread. I've been hearing strange noises come from outside but didn't pin point it until last night. It's the a.c. so I turned it off. yes it got a little warm but nothing I couldn't handle. It's around 83 degrees right now on the inside. This morning i've opened a window to let in a little bit of a breeze. Went to church this morning here. low and behold a friend from paragould was guest speaker. i always have like him as a speaker. Turned the a.c. on again just a few minutes ago and it is making the same nosies. I'm no mechanic but it sounds like the bearing has gone out again. I will call the land lord this afternoon but I know he will say call back in the morning. I'm going to tell him it's making a horrible noise. If he does I'm going to the Holiday Inn down the road. If i didn't have to work in the morning I'd go to Paragould. |
Thanks!
|
And August it is. Thanks for setting up the new thread Mel. I was thinking about it yesterday and my brain could not come up with anything clever for August.
I like watermelon so this is good. In fact, I just tried a yellow watermelon the other day. Looks just like pineapple (I fooled DH) but tastes oh so yummy. We are still in the thick of the heat here. Last night about 10:30pm I stuck my toe in the pool and it was like bath water so I flipped on the underwater light and went for a swim. It was heaven. The pool is a brilliant blue and the light reflected on the trees in a shimmering blue light. No bugs. Well maybe one or two and a few cicadas but none of the pesky skeeters. I loved it. I am seriously back on Weight Watchers again and adding exercise in. I opted out of the gym - we really need to cut back on expenses and I have a gym right here at home. DH said I could walk on the treadmill upstairs as long as I didn't trot and bounce alot. So I'm looking forward to a new month to begin all over again. Ceejay - I hope they fix that air conditioning of yours soon. Loved your post and pictures Mel. Come on down - I think you'd enjoy the pool too. Hello to the rest of the chicks - I'm off to pick up some groceries. |
Hi everyone -
I worked the entire weekend. Ugh. And I'm still not done with one of the reports. I'll be getting up at 3:30 am tomorrow to go in early. I'll try and catch up with y'all tomorrow...but in the meantime, I wanted to post links to some videos of the Thriller dance that I participated in on Saturday (yes, I did take a break to do that...and I'm so glad I did. It was a blast!!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-kBaeoFewk http://www.wisn.com/video/24466226/index.html http://news.yahoo.com/video/odd-15749658/21180491 The last one was picked up by the Associated Press...wouldn't you know it...they pick the video that has my fat, sweaty self front and center in several shots! Sheesh. I am NOT pleased with how I look in the video...but it was soooooo much fun. One of the funnest things I've ever done. I'll catch y'all tomorrow. Love and hugs, |
Quick fly by today. I am flying home to Brisbane tonight. Should get in by midnight. Makes for a long day!
I've done a training class. I'm about to go out and see if I can do some shopping. Not that I can buy much. I have to take it home. I can only carry what I can carry. Anyway, I'm off to the Esprit shop and maybe Myers Department Store or David Jones. I'm on a roll here. Got shoes the other day. Might be nice to have some new tops and pants. Gotta go. I'll see you. |

HAPPY MONDAY AND GOOD MORNING. THE WEEKEND WAS EXTREMELY QUIET FEELING GOOD MYSELF AND GETTING READY TO GO OUT FOR A BIT. WEATHER IS COOLER AND WE'LL HAVE SHOWERS ON AND OFF ALL WEEK...I BETTER TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT! THE BOSS LADY IS ON VACAY BUT IT SHOULD BE AN EASY WEEK. NOTHING IS PRESSING AT THE MOMENT. HAVE A GREAT DAY :moped: CEEJAY...HOW DID THE CALL TO THE LANDLORD GO? HOPE THE A/C IS WORKINGNOW AND SILENT!!! DID YOU END UP IN THE HOLIDAY INN?? GOOD LUCK AT WORK THIS WEEK  HAPPY....AN OUTDOOR BATH SOUNDS NICE TOO!! WILL DH LET US PUT BUBBLE BATH IN THERE??? I WILL BE ROOTING FOR YOU WITH THE WW & TREADMILL COMBO! GO HAPPY GO!!! :running: AUGUST CAN BE A HOT MONTH...THAT'S FOR SURE. KEEP COOL! MICHELLE....SHOOT....I LOOKED AT THE NEWS ACROSS THE STATES BOTH SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY BUT I DIDN'T SEE IT. I REALLY WAS HOPING I WOULD. I'M SO GLAD YOU HAD SUCH A GOOD TIME. SHAD....TWO PAIR OF COMFY SHOES AND NOW NEW TOPS AND PANTS?? YOU REALLY ARE ON A ROLL! HOPE THE FLIGHT WAS UNEVENTFUL. WELCOME HOME! |
Good morning ladies,
Monday rolls around quickly again. We are in for what looks like our hottest week so far - and it's been very hot. The temps will be kissing at or above 100 degrees with heat indexes of 112 - 115F. I will think I'm living with Shad and will start looking for 'roos in the back yard! I'm just glad I'm in the air conditioning. Thanks for the cheers Mel. You are so right about death making people crazy - at least temporarily. Let your friend chill a bit and hopefully she will come back with a sheepish apology and you can go on. Enjoy the rain and some cooler temps. We're in the last weeks of summer here. If I was there I'd go puddle jumping with you in the warm rain! Oh and no bubbles in the big pool although I'd be glad to get you a blow up one just for that  Shad - safe travels. Will good to be home. So you're in your annual shopping mood? what color scheme are we working this year? (Shad is an expert traveller - I have learned the anything goes with anything method of packing - it's a good one!) Is this the end for this client or are you just on break? Michelle - you looked just fine - having a great time and that's what matters. Kinda hard to look like a beauty queen all fluffed up in the summer heat with 1,799 other people packed in a park. I'm so glad you did it. Hope your week is not too hectic otherwise! Ceejay - hope you got a good night's rest. Smart to go to a hotel. Back at work today? Poor Annie - did you get an hour's rest to yourself or was it a crazy, non-stop weekend? What's going on with you Laura? I promised myself I'd get out of the house a little earlier so I'd better get off here. Will check back in at lunch time. |
Monday, Monday, doo doo doo dah doo doo...
My head is splitting, yeah man, can't get any rest, yeah man, no one better cross my path today, yeah man..... Spending the night with dad sucks majorily. He gets up to P about 10 times a night then he had a "downer" at about 3 am. Was up with him for that for about 30 minutes. I put him back to bed and DARED him to even THINK about getting up again. My alarm went off at 5, and I hear coming from his room, "can I get up now". I just about died laughing. MELLIE...thank you, my dear sista for the new thread. Glad you took the time for yourself this weekend after last week's ****. You know my brother told me once....just because you have known someone for a long time or all your life, does not make them a friend that you might think. Lovin' the watermelon, one of my favoritiest fruits. CHELLE...You made Indy news for a brief moment..didn't see you, but just watched all the videos you included and you were on the last one quite a bit. It looked like you were having a blast. Don't work too hard this week, we miss you. Shad....Get anything good shopping? I can forward my sizes so you can pick me up some things. SMILES. Was it good to get home? Good luck with training this week. Happy....It is supposed to be unbareably hot here too, until about Friday when it is supposed to drop back down into the 80s. Wish I could come float in your pool some night. I used to love that when I was married and had a pool in the back yard. Ceejay...is this about the 2nd or 3rd time they have fixed your AC? Bout time they get it right. Laura...hope all is great in your world...don't miss the train! Guess I'd better get my tired arse busy here at work....here's hoping the migraine stops realllllll soon before someone dies....lol Love and hugs |
Happy Monday everyone! Shad, at least it's over with for you!
Mel – Thanks for setting up the new thread. I did happen to have some watermelon yesterday, the first day of August. YUM. :) Glad all was quiet. Good to hear that Jen is looking and feeling good. Michelle – Congrats on being part of the US record breaking Thriller Dance! You looked like you were having fun! Sorry you had to work all weekend. I hope it eases up for you. Our department has a lot of work that falls into the summer months – Not fair! :tantrum: Shad – Sounds like you had a nice weekend and enjoyed some shopping. Hope your trip home was uneventful. Happy – Your dip in the pool sounds nice. Now, now, there’s still nearly 8 WEEKS until autumn begins on Sept. 23, so don’t go rushing things!!! Our village just had its Midsummer Downtown Block Party last weekend, so that must mean we’re barely halfway through, LOL. Annie – Doesn’t sound like a restful night spent w/ pops. LOL re “can I get up now?” Stay cool – we’re also getting some of that hot weather this week. Well, at least our AC got a bit of a break. Ceejay – Hope the first day back at work goes smooth and easy for you. Mondays are difficult for everyone! I hope your landlord gets that AC unit working the way it should – powerful and quiet! My mother’s AC kicked the bucket last Sunday (16 year old builder installed unit) and she’s been spending a lot of time in her house’s lower level where it’s cooler. She’s happier at home, but if it gets too hot, she can also stay at my brother’s or a friend’s house. I also told her she should get out of the house and hang out at the library for a couple hours. She got some quotes last week and is hopefully getting a new AC and furnace installed TODAY. :crossed: She’s just thankful she can afford to replace it. I was quite the sloth this weekend. Friday I did one BE workout and Saturday was my water aerobics class, otherwise my only other exercise was several dog walks. Didn’t do any yardwork AT ALL! Thanks to bf cancelling the lawn treatments this season, weeds are taking over the back yard. He never did the DIY treatments – grrrrr! And yet he was surprised a couple weeks ago when I said that I saw our next dwelling being a low maintenance townhome. This week at the water aerobics class, the instructor put in some dance moves in honor of July 31 being the National Day of Dance. Never heard of it and having just Googled it, it appears to have been declared such by the folks who bring us the TV show So You Think You Can Dance. Whatever… but class was good. Sunday we finally went to bf’s aunt’s house to visit. She was doing fine with recovery from hip replacement surgery...then had a fall two weeks ago, on the new hip side. Her femur may have a hairline fracture. She gets a bone scan today. Her new place is nice and she seems happy with it. Maybe she’ll finally stay put for a while. All I know is that when I hit my late 70’s, I’m not moving!! In spite of being lazy all weekend, I’m dragging butt today. My work isn't doing itself, so I better get it in gear. I have a premonition of a sick day sometime in the near future. |
Another crazy busy day. Working all day, and then tonight as well. At least DMIL is cooking dinner for us (hopefully). I could just collapse. :faint:
|
Bless your heart Chelle...here is some strength, willpower, and hugs...
|
Poor Michelle - geez already. You can only keep up that pace for so long and then the brain just gives out. Wish I could help you out
|
ai did call the land lord this morning and she said that hey would put me on the list. When I got home the air was off but I thought that they didn't come inside due to the ADT sticker on the door. The a.c. ran good for a couple of hours but then the noise started again. ugh. I should have gone back to the hotel but it's to late now.

EVEN WORLDLY LIKES WATEMELON!! NOT MUCH NEW HERE. TOOK A REST DAY AFTER I DID A FEW THINGS FOR THE SENIORS. TOO HUMID TO STAY OUTSIDE MUCH. IT WAS VERY "CLOSE" YESTERDAY AS MY GRAM USED TO SAY. TODAY IS BILL PAYING AND RENTS....IMAGINE THEIR NERVE CHARGING ME MONEY TO STAY HERE!  SHOOT....THE DOORBELL...BRB |
LAURA...I CAN SEE WHERE THERE IS NEVER A DULL MOMENT WITH THE BF. HOPE THE AUNT'S SCAN SHOWS EVERYTHING IS OK. IT WOULD BE SUCH A SHAME IF THERE IS A FRACTURE. IT SEEMS LIKE EVERY DAY IS SOME KIND OF HOLIDAY BY THE E-MAIL I GET FROM FRIENDS! :rollpin:
HAPPY....I SAW THE WEATHER MAP LAST NIGHT AGAIN AND COULD SEE THE SOUTH IS IN TROUBLE WITH HEAT THIS WEEK! YIKES! :yikes: EVEN SOUTHERN CALIF HAS HAD RECORD HIGHS. STAY COOL MY FRIEND AND LET US GIVE MANY THANKS FOR OUR A/C'S :brr: CEEJAY....SAME GOES FOR YOU. HOPE THE HEAT DOESN'T BECOME TOO MUCH FOR YOU WHILE THE A/C IS ACTING UP. DID THE GUYS COME BACK?? STAY COOL TO! :brr: ANNIE....I WANTED TO CRY & LAUGH AT THE DAD STORY. WE HAVE A LOT OF THAT HERE AS YOU CAN IMAGINE. HOPE THE WEEK GOES BETTER FOR YOU ESPECIALLY WHILE WORKING TWO JOBS!!!! MICHELLE...HUGS FOR YOUR BUSY WEEK. HOPE IT GOES OK AND YOU GET SOME TIME TO BREATHE :yoga: SHAD....I WAS THINKING OF YOU....I WATCHED PART OF A PROGRAM ON AN AUSTRALIAN PRISON AND ANOTHER ON THE EMPEROR PENGUINS AND HOW THEY ARE ADJUSTING TO CLIMATE CHANGES ON ONE OF THE POLES...I FORGET WHICH.....I DIDN'T SEE SANTA'S HOUSE SO MAYBE IT WAS THE SOUTH POLE :hohoho: |
Good Morning on this Terrifice Tuesday.....
Well dad slept better last night, at least he stayed in bed. Must of scared him the night before. I served him canteloupe and watermelon about 8:30 and I think the natural sugars in the melon kept him from "dumping". So all and all it was a better night even tho I didn't get to sleep til about 11pm. Tonight is CVS (chocolate, vanilla & strawberry) that is my acronym for CVS. I am sure you all will appreciate that one. Today is training...Shaddie you should be close to my heart as I WILL BE IN TRAINING today. Only a 2 hour class, but training. Mellie...maybe you need to put the sign on your door from like 5 pm til 9 am. That might stop late and early ringers. I say MIGHT. Ceejay...not a good time to be without AC. Call the landlord and tell them it is urgent you are having some kind of reaction to no air. Laura...get you lazy, draggy arse up and moving, sista. Chelle...don't forget to come up for air! Hidee Ho Happy!! Love and hugs |
Mellie you slide right back in there before me....
BTW..breakfast of the champions...cottage cheese with fresh from the garden tomato, cucumber, jalapeno and banana pepper. Quite the YUM Have a terrific Day!! |
Mel that penquin sculpture is just AMAZING. DH and I oohed and ahhed this morning. I'm saving that pic.
Annie - I had to smile at the Dad story too. I can relate. Every night on the way home I have to stop at the corner where they just built a new CVS. I will never think of CVS the same way again - will always give me a hankering for Dairy Queen  Good one! :lol3: It is beastly, nasty humid out there this morning. I went to the garage to get some cans of cat food and got an instant headache. At 6:30am it is hard to breathe. This is crazy already. I feel badly for the elderly and poor. We've have over a month of this heat- will need a second job to pay the utility bills. Gotta get out of here early so I'll be back at lunch to chat with the rest of yahs. |
Happy...big news....I have a second job, more like a third job....YIKES. Yes, come to eCVS for your chocolate, vanilla, strawberry dessert<----as in men., LOL
|
Good Morning, I guess. Raining a lot today, and after the flooding from 2 weekends ago, this is not welcome around here!
Michelle - Too early in the week to be beaten by it. :( Be good to yourself! Hope dh and mil can lift your load at home. :hugs: Mel - I like that Worldly Watermelon. :) Annie - Like Happy - I won't think of CVS the same way anymore, LOL. Happy - Sorry you have a headache. For the first time in a while, my chest is feeling heavy, like the asthma is acting up. It's probably a combo of the humidity, and I suspect the water exercise class. Ceejay - I suppose I could work with the noisy AC, as long as it kept cooling. But I hope they fix it soon. I bet in this heat that the list is long... Hi Shad! Did one BE workout last night. BF did the dog walking w/o me. Very sad news from an old friend of mine - her husband died suddenly on Sunday while they were visiting her father out of state. He was only 52 y.o. After the four of us not getting together for a couple years, we were finally making plans for later this month... bf and I are in shock. Okay, I need to get hopping, and I need to phone my mom to learn if she got her new HVAC installed yesterday. She's getting the same weather as Ceejay & Happy! TTFN! |
Mel - I just notice your new avatar - that is just tooooo cute!!!!
|
Another job????? Annie wtf?
Can't hang about sorry. Gotta go to work. Try to get back later today. |
http://images.quickblogcast.com/8208...watermelon.jpg
I FIGURED I BETTER LOG ON AND POST FOR TOMORROW.....I HAVE SOME TIME TO PUT IN THE OFFICE TOMORROW. I'M GOING TO TRADER JOES ON THURSDAY MORNING SO I WON'T HAVE TIME THEN AND I AM NOT A FAN OF OFFICE WORK ON FRIDAYS. NICE TO BE ABLE TO PICK AND CHOOSE MY DAYS HUH?? THE JOYS OF BEING UNEMPLOYED. ANYWAY.....NOT MUCH HAPPENED HERE TODAY . I JUST DID LITTLE JOBS THAT NEEDED TAKING CARE OF AND HELPED A FEW "DOOR KNOCKERS" IN BETWEEN. I NEED TO CLEAR OUT THE FRIDGE AND MAKE ROOM FOR THURSDAY'S SHOPPING. MAYBE TONITE. HAVE A GOOD DAY TOMORROW.....SHADDIE'S ALREADY ON THE RUN!! ANNIE....3 JOBS AND ONE GIVES DESSERT!!. :belly: MAYBE THE NIGHT JOB IS BETTER THAN THE DAY JOB. GLAD DAD HAD A BETTER NIGHT. LIKED YOUR IDEA OF BREAKFAST BUT CAN'T TAKE ALL THE "HEAT" YOU ADD TO IT :flame: YIKES!! HAPPY....I LOVED THE PENGUIN PUMPKIN CARVING TOO. I FOUND LOTS OF STUFF WHEN I GOOGLED WATERMELON...INCLUDING RACIST STUFF:crazy: WHEN YOU GOOGLE, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GNNA GET! :faint: DAIRY QUEEN IS NOT ON THE WW LIST :tantrum: DON'T BE THINKING CVS!! THINK Contraceptives, Viagra & Sex!!! ( I REALLY HAD ANOTHER 4-LETTER WORD FOR C BUT 3FC WOULDN'T FIND IT FUNNY :lol3:) LAURA....I AM SO VERY SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR FRIEND'S HUSBAND. WTF HE WAS SO YOUNG. VERY SAD  SENDING OUT GOOD THOUGHTS TO ALL OF YOU. SHE MUST BE IN SHOCK TOO I IMAGINE. TERRIBLE. I LOVE THE AVATAR TOO...I FOUND LOTS OF CUTE ONES. SHAD.... WAVING HELLO AND GOODBYE  HAVE A GREAT DAY! |
Laura - I'm so sorry to hear about your friend losing her husband at such a young age.
Annie - 3 jobs now?? WTF? Ceejay - I hope the landlord gets the a/c working properly for you. How is it being back at work? Mel - I love the penguin watermelon. My DH liked it too. I'm saving that pic. Shad - I can't keep up with you....but according to FB, it sounds like you're out of town back in the bush again. Happy - That sucks that you're having so much heat down there. I guess I won't complain about our heat indexes that are in the mid 90s. Back to work for me. Today is going to be a long day since I can't work late tomorrow or Friday...I have to put in extra time today. :faint: |
Evening all,
Thought I had better get some down in here tonight. Yes I am going out bush again. This will be the last time. I have about 4 weeks left in this contract and will have to start looking for more work very soon. Wish I could afford to retire but there you go, I can't So Annie - what is the third job? Looking after Dad??? How do you keep on keeping on? Happy training. I hope you get a good trainer - one that doesn't bewilder with the bullsh*t or bedazzle with brilliance. Mel - enjoy the shopping. Be nice to just do something for yourself for a change. Laura - so sorry to hear about your friend. Poor man. Rather poor wife. My dad went suddenly like that. I suppose it is a quick way out for them, but it is a helluva shock for those left behind. Ceejay - glad to hear that you are nice and cool again. Sweat is okay, but when you have to try and sleep in it, it's the pits. Happy - Coming out into the bush with me are you? Well the stars are great and apart from the odd snake, there isn't much that bites (apart from the trainer that is) Hope the bartender can make it as well although most booze is not allowed. Michelle - glad to see you do come up for air once in a while. Hope all those reports are behaving for you. Right well I better go finish packing, have a drink and go to bed. I have a cab coming for me at 4.45am. I guess bedtime is getting fairly close or I will never wake up in the morning. I'll be on line when I can. Can't promise much. |
Happy Hump Day Morning there chicks,
Was supposed to go to a photography club meeting yesterday but they had another event at the Botanic Gardens and there was no parking so instead DH and I drove around and admired some of the nearby homes. Memphis does have some lovely architecture. Ok, so I said something nice about this place for a change  Had dinner at Steak and Shake. I was horrified yes HORRIFIED when I got home and calculated the ww points/calories. What a calorie bomb and I didn't even have a milkshake. Talked to my sister for a while last night and then I went for a late night swim. The water temp hit 90 degrees. Could not do any sprints - the water was just too warm. We have another day of 100 plus weather with heat indexes over 120 degrees. Feel like I am in Shad's land. We had a quick pop up storm yesterday afternoon - was watching from work - big lightning, high winds. It calmed down by the time I left. That was my day. Shad - good travels in the bush there. Hope you can make the best of primative conditions and get your training done. Wish I could come along with you. Michelle - keep your chin up - don't drive sleepy and I hope you get your work all done. I hear it's hot up your way also. Mel - the great thing about being our age - NO CONTRACEPTIVES - :lol3: Hope you have a quiet day today. Is Willy back to help you with the shopping tomorrow? Get some good stuff. Laura - so sorry to hear of your friend's husband. And the fact that you were planning on seeing each other makes it all the more shocking. I take this blips as life's lessons to make the most of every day. How very sad for your friend tho. Hope your Mom is nice and cool. Are you back at work Ceejay? How did it go? Annie - I hope you get some rest from "the third job". You had better take some Annie time or we're going to find you spralled over the CVS counter and silly customers will be stacking their purchases all over your passed out body  Seriously girl you are burning the candle at all ends and in the middle too! I'm way behind better get out of this house. Stay cool and we'll see yah later. |
Wowser Wildly Wicked Wednesday to you All......
No no no, not 3 jobs, unless of course you count my dad??? I was repling to someone's having to get a 2nd job for some reason or another, and I was just saying it would be 3rd job for me. lol Sheeet, I would never get to sleep if I did that, not that I sleep much anyway. Today's high is 95-100 with the same humidity and mug. Heat index 115 or more. It was 81 degrees when I got up at 4 this morning. Hella was crying to go out and get a drink of water...I tell you if it isn't my dad, it is the dog. lol Put the car in the shop today and got the rental. A Chevy Avero, what a cheap little car. No cruise, no automatic locks, weird for me. But for 23 bucks a day, what could I expect a cadilac?? Gave blood the other day. Iron was actually high enough to give. Funny but I was very excited about that. Got a free t-shirt too! May be old news, heck I can't remember if I am coming or going. Made some awesome chicken salad with celery, onion, garlic powder, grapes, boiled egg, lt. mayo, salt, pepper, wanted to put nuts in it but didn't have any on hand. Brought it to work yesterday with little flat breads and shared with the office. Everyone was delighted. Think I am having Jimmy John's veggie lettuce wrap with avocado for lunch today, YUM. Shad...maybe you should fly over here and do our training, if nothing else you and I could certainly entertain the troops. haha. Actually the trainer was pretty good. Since there were just few of us, what should of taken 2 hours, got done in about an hour which was pleasing to me. Chelle..ok, why are you off Thursday & Friday? I might of missed the why's of it or simply forget. I think I need to take some memory herbs. Any suggestions? Mellie...Friday's are great for taking off. Don't forget to put your sign on your door!!! Have fun at Trader Joe's. I just never seem to make it there and it could be right on my way home if I changed my course slightly. Laura...sorry to hear about your friend. Just seems like the older I get the more die....must be the age thing. Ya think? I mean, I am only 29..wink wink. Happy...hope the headache is much better today. Headaches are just so annoying. I think mine have been caused by this dang heat and humidity. I think that about covers it. Have a Wonderfully WILD Wednesday.... Hello to all. Love and hugs, |
Happy,....you dang sneaker inner this morning. I LOVE LOVE LOVE naked night swims in 90 degree water. Wish I was there!! Steak n Shake has the best fries in the world. Skinny and not as filling as others, therefore my belly can actually eat a few. Just what I need. Heck it is after 9am and haven't had my breaky yet, heading to the breakroom for my cottage cheese and junk I add to it. Healthy junk...Have a great day, my sista friend.
|
MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm, just discovered a yummy...
Does everyone know what beer salt is?? You get it at a liquor store usually. It is lemon/lime fine ground salt that you add to beer. It will give your beer a twang. Well that is not what I use if for, I slice up a cucumber and lightly sprinkle it with the beer salt. OMGoodness is it ever delish...just thought I would pass that along. |
Hi Annie see your egg light on.
Got a good laugh about your dad asking if he could get up now. Happy Those late night swims are neat. We did that last summer when I visited my sis that lives in Dallas. This humidiy is aweful. The weather man stated that the heat index was 116 yesterday afternoon around 5 p.m.and maybe up to 121 today. Can you imagine what our troops in Iraq are going through? The a.c. was working last night and the house was cool but not cold. Still a lot of humidity Turned on the fans and that worked much better. This morning I was snuggling under the covers. Got a very much needed sleep. I thought I would get out of playing catch up with the paper work since L does it also but my boss said "do it" L had messed up on her part. he he he he. No wonder she had caled me to "gripe" about work. It's taken me both Monday and Tuesday to catch up on 6 weeks of paper work. Now I'm curious to see if I balance with my boss. Mel Love the avatar. Sounds like you will be working this week. Try to stay inside as much as possible. It's time to do some mork work. |
Morning all. Is it really only Wed? Sigh.
Ceejay - Hope the AC, even if it's not 100%, holds up til the landlord gets to it. I couldn't reach my mom yesterday but I did just now and she's getting her new HVAC installed right now. Thank goodness, those heat indexes sound hellacious. Shad - That's an early wake-up call (well for me, not for earlybirds like Michelle, lol). Safe travels. No booze allowed where you're going?? What's with that??!! Happy - Yeh, Steak & Shake definitely could do damage w/o the shake. I save the coupons, but we very rarely go there - bf doesn't really care for it. They have a chicken melt that I like. Heck, any menu item with "melt" sounds good to me, LOL. :hungry: Annie - Glad to hear you don't have a real 3rd job, but I think staying w/ your Dad equates to job #3 anyway. Any solutions to keeping watch over him that don't involve him moving in with you or the siblings? That cottage cheese concoction sounds tasty - but not in the morning. I can't handle spicy in the AM. No automatic locks on the rental? Oh well, as long as it moves and has AC... Mel - So are you working today and then shopping Thursday? Hope all is well in your corner of the world! I saw a cute watermelon-related cartoon the other day in my newspaper, but it's not available to view on the cartoonist's website yet. When it is I'll post the link. Michelle - Glad you won't be working late Thurs or Fri -you need some down time form work. Hang in there! More rain today. Bf dropped me at the train again this morning. I decided to walk home last night, but I realized I should have phoned him to come get me because it was humid as heck, and I could have used more time at home before I left for the movie. Last night our group saw "Inception" with Leonardo DiCaprio. I enjoyed it. The concept was interesting, although I think they more extreme with it than necessary. Still, I found it entertaining. Yesterday at lunchtime I talked w/ my friend whose dh passed. She didn't have a specific cause for what happened (lots of possibilities), except it started when he couldn't breathe. She was very composed when we spoke, and I think part of that came from her having felt comfortable with her decisions and not struggling with them - she and her dh had already discussed the medical decisions and the burial arrangements so they would be prepared. I'm sure part of her composure is still shock, but she says she's just taking it one day at a time. The wake is on Friday. Well, better get this posted and get back to work. |
Annie - I'm not off on Thursday & Friday...I just can't work late. I have a doc appt Thursday after work, and a back shot on Friday.
|
** ok, she whispers - maybe I can get a few minutes of quiet and actually post at lunchtime ***
Michelle - hope the back shot takes this time. Now remember to live quietly for a couple of days to let it settle in and do it's thing. Laura - my niece said Inception was great. Looked kinda complicated to me - I'm all for the funny romantic comedy where I don't have think - DH likes the action thrillers and dramas. So we don't see too many movies  As sad as it is for your friend, at least they were able to talk about some things and I think that really helps. It's really something a couple should be aware of just in case but so awkward to talk about. I hear you are getting some doozer storms. My sister said you were due for one today with "vivid lightning" whoa!!!!! Be careful walking! Ceejay - now you just KNEW they would dump the paperwork on you - didn't you? At least you don't sound stressed about it which is good. Annie - never heard of beer salt but it definitely has possibilities. How in the heck did you come across it? I can't remember when I was last in a liquour store - oh wait - that's right you can't buy wine in the grocery stores out here, so the next time I'm "thirsty" I will have to check it out. And there will be no naked swims for this chick - at least not right now. I turn the lights off in the yard except for the small decorative ones by the pool. The pool is an in ground pool but is on the high part of the yard - 6 steps up from the rest of the yard. If I stand up on the deck, the neighbors on one side of me can see the top half of me. They are wierd so no topless show for them. However my neighbors on the other side can see everything in our pool if they look through their bedroom windows. And since the pool has a light within the pool that lights up the water, they'd get a great (if not horrific) viewing. However they are moving by month's end so if it's still warm after they are gone :s I will never swim in the total darkness. You'd be surprised how disoriented you get when you can't tell up from down in the water. Happened once and scared the bejeezus out of me. Even though I float like a cork and there is probably no way I'd get under the water, I still wouldn't do it. And if I ran into one of the many bugs that fly into the water, that would freak me if I didn't know what I was touching. No worries Mel - haven't seen a frog in there in over 2 years. And I just love love love your Avatar!!!!! Your chicken salad sounds delish Annie. I would have had some. Have you tried the Wheat Thins new flatbread crackers? Kinda expensive - about $2.50 for a 12 pack but they are soooooo good. Tuscan Herb or Parsley Garlic flavors. And 2 good size crackers for one WW point. Very good with LF / FF cream cheese and some protein. Had some with lean rare roast beef on Monday. Yum! Still beastly hot outside. We've been getting bad afternoon storms that pop up out of nowhere. Yesterday's tipped a semi tractor trailer on to the hood of a Lincoln Navigator SUV. A lady was sitting in the passenger side and escaped unhurt. She said it happened so fast she didn't have time to react but later on looking at it, she said she knew that "Jesus was her friend". I'll say... Back to work - see yahs. |
Morning all,
Just got time to write a short note before I fly off into the interior. Actually I am looking forward to this one as I intend to take a day off to visit Carnarvon Gorge if the weather holds out. Love that place. The cabbie came to pick me up this morning. I think he probably woke most of the neighbours as well. I didn't bother trying to communicate apart from the usual - 'morning' qantas domestic please' 'can I have a receipt' 'thanks' Communicating with the cabbies becomes more and more difficult since few of them have English as a first language - second, third or fourth for that matter either. So here I am fed and coffee'd and awaiting boarding of a wee plane. Well it won't be the smallest plane I have ever been on - Karatha to Tom Price in WA takes that honour but it's small enough. I haven't flown to Roma before but I am told this is the 'Interior Hopper Flight' - it goes to Roma, Charleville, Birdsville and a couple of other places in the 'Outback'. I've yet to discover the actual location of the 'Outback' since just about every little town and village you go through is the 'Gateway to the Outback' I thought when I went to Longreach I was in the Outback but apparently not. The locals tell me to go west to get there. But where is there?? Anyway, time to go. I'll be back when I can. |
Happy Thursday -
There just might be a light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, it's too soon to tell if it's a bullet train heading straight for me. I might be able to breathe today....just a little. I submitted some of the reports and am awaiting comments. In the meantime, I have a couple others to complete. I picked the first tiny tomatoes and cukes from my garden last night as the mosquitos ate me alive! Fresh from the garden veggies are SOOOO yummy. Laura - Thanks for your kind words about it being too early in the week to be beaten by it. DH and DMIL are helping A LOT at home. :) I love any menu item that has "melt" in the description too. Glad you liked "Inception" . Happy - Too bad the parking was scarce at the photography club meeting. Steak and Shake is really yummy. Wish they had something lower in points on the menu. Live quietly after my back shot? I will try. DH and I want to go to State Fair on Saturday afternoon/evening (about 24 hours after the shot). I've been trying to talk DMIl into going with us...but she's concerned about all the walking. Maybe she and I can share a wheelchair. Or we may just do State Fair next weekend. I don't want to overdo it...as I do need to give my body time for the shot to "take". We'll see. :dunno: Thanks for the tip about the Wheat Thins Flatbread Crackers. That and some Laughing Cow sounds really good. A storm that tipped a semi onto an SUV?! :yikes: You be careful in those wicked storms, girlfriend. Shad - I googled Carnarvon Gorge...it is lovely! Enjoy your time in the Outback...if you actually get past the "gateway to the outback". Annie - I'm glad to hear you don't have 3 jobs, other than staying with your dad...which I'm sure can be exhausting in itself. Like you, I get very excited when my iron is high enough to donate blood. I'm O negative...so the Blood Center loves when I donate. Unfortunately, about 50% of the time I try, my iron is too low. The veggie lettuce wrap with avocado sounds delish. Beer salt sounds really yummy! My fave seasoning is from Beer and Garlic from Cabela's. I use it in everything (but I haven't tried it to spice up my beer). Well, I'd better get to tackling today's projects. Lots of love and hugs to all, |
Good morning chicks,
Feeling yucky this morning. Tummy is a bit off - don't know why. Had an amazingly delicious dinner of grilled wild salmon, tomato, cucumber & dill salad and corn on the cob last night. I also have a beastly headache. Thought about staying home but they are repairing the roof next door and it's very noisy. Mel - hope you get in a good shopping trip this morning. Shad - looking forward to another report from the bush. Hope you have the means to complete your training. Michelle - I hope they like the reports and you can ease up for the weekend. The fair sounds fun - I think you should rent a chair for you and DMIL. Sometimes you have to be smart enough to take it easy. I'm sure it's another jam packed day for you Annie. How did the training go or was that the other day? Did you get caught up with the paperwork yet Ceejay? Thank goodness this heat will break for a few days at least soon. Laura - I'm with you - I melt for "melts" :hungry: LOL Hope you get some sunshine. My sister told me about some art thing they have in the south loop - a large eyeball staring at State Street. Have you seen it? Well I guess I'd better mosey out of here - no running for this chick today. |
Thursday came in with Thunder this morning....kind of glad as the garden that needed watered when I got home from CVS last night @ 10 pm, was already watered. Thank you Jesus for the assistance.
Got my yearly review at CVS...evidently I ROCK!! Am very professional, dress neatly wear my nametag EVERY time...How hard is that? Very nice to the customers, um does that include dating sausage fingers? lol Anyway I got the maximum raise...23 cents on the hour. I thanked my manager for the raise and the job. It is a heck of a lot more than Humana is giving as raises which is ZERO. Should turn out to be about 5 bucks on the week, almost can buy a margarita. haha Happy....corn on the cob makes me feel yucky in the tummy as I am alergic to it but eat it anyway. Maybe your tummy is reacting on behalf. lol Naked night swimming...go for it, at this point in life I don't care who sees my body as long as they DON'T critique me. lol Chelle...hope the report comes out with no changes, but I know how that goes. Better give your back time to recoup and go to the fair later. Shaddie...you know you really do live an exciting life, even if work is mish mashed in there with it. All that trave and seeing the great sites of the land is so cool. Don't forget to eat at the Outback Steakhouse while in the Outback...lol Laura...thanks for the Inception review, I was wondering about that one, but really don't have the time to go to the movies. Dad is improving a lot so maybe he will be back to the point of staying by himself soon. I go over tonight and stay so will have a better idea tomorrow. Ceejay...how's the AC coming along. All fixed or back in the motel? Guess Mellie is off to Trader Joe's shopping this morning. Good for her!! Not much else happening here. Much love and many hugs,,, |
