Hey Girls- Thanksgiving was Great
Me and my sister left around 9pm Thanksgiving night and went shopping got home around noon on friday then I slept till 3 got up and because it was teh riders night to serve steak at our local club- DH said we would be coming home early well early was 2am Saturday morning so between 7am Thurs and 6am Sat I got 7 hours of sleep- Had a craft fair Saturday that I had to leave town by 6- anyways I got home at supper time and of course I was not going to cook so we went out for supper then came home and decided to play some Wheel of Fortune on the Wii and DH kicked my butt severly :) Playing it today and I am kicking DH butts severly- I told him today I must have really been tired last night and he said I liked it much better that way at least I had a chance to win :) Also got it figured out how to get movies on our Wii through Netflix for $7 a month unlimited and started one last night this streamlines it to our TV and I was skeptical of maybe some interruptions but there were none - could be good through the winter months when we are home alittle more Well Holly so glad to hear that DH is not giving a negative vibes when you are looking and actually being supportive :) Glad to hear that your mom listened to you and I bet it was a load off to be able to talk to someone in person ...... Ok I think I am going to take a nap so I will check back in later Oh by the way good advice Tammy on the bike and the warranty part of it- thanks |
Good morning chicks :) clear sky and sun which is beautiful, but cold out.
Reda, you and your sis sure did your thing together :D and that is kewl about finding out about getting the movies thru the Wii and Netflix. Hi Tammy  how many hours a week do you work, girl?? :) You are great. And yes that was a good point about a warranty being useless when you are not actually on the bike. Hi tymaboy  Yup DH is now being totally fine with ME and a new (or new to me) bike. So we will just have to pray that he will get 'the fever' in a few months :) Tammy that is a great prayer :carrot: and I am so thankful to have you girls, you are so great in that you havent kicked me out of here for when I am so down, I have seen that I just need to wait one more day usually and the mood won't be so bad, and you're all so supportive  Well since I weighed and had to change my ticker UP, I haven't gone down any, haven't tried super-hard either though so no excuses. It does help when I bring a sandwich to work . I haven't been eating super clean but I have been working out almost every day, I"ve only missed 2 days of this month. OH!! this might help some from keeping away from pastries (not that I think any of us do ) The boss is always interested in buying ready-make pastries (and tries to tell people we make them there, but I don't) anyway, there are these BIG cupcakes, with all kinds of tempting names - Rocky Road, Reese's, Black and White. They ARE big, I weighed one on the scale, like 7 ounces - almost a half pound! and they came with nutritional info - get this - some of them are 700 calories. Not that they are the kind of treat one would get every day, but maybe you'd think 500 or so calories. I swear they must be injected with extra oil and sugar to be so high. |
Good morning everyone. Had a great weekend here. We went shopping on Friday but we waited till around 9 to go out.
Reda- My DH subscribed to Netflix again this weekend too. I had the subscription earlier this yr but DH went on the we need to save money kick but now that it is his decision its OK. It always works that way. Sorry I will stop, dont need to turn in to a vent post. Does anyone have any ideas for some cheap stocking stuffers for my DS? We have his gifts done except for the stuffers. I need some cuz he is getting 2 large gifts (paint ball gun & TV) We cant wrap the TV so I would like for him to be able to open more then 1 gift. This weekend after we got home I did a lot of baking for the churchs bake sale this coming weekend. My one chest freezer is now full of sugar cookies & mini cup cakes. I wanted to bake more cup cakes, brownies & cookie bars. I'll see how I feel later this week to see if I'll bake more when I dont need to worry about putting them in the freezer. Every yr I bake a ton of stuff for the sale that I usually run out of freezer space. The proceeds from the sale & silent auction goes to the churches partner parish in El Salvador. We usualy find 1 Christmas gift from the silent auction. |
Hi Girls
Tymaboy how about some paintballs not sure how much they cost haven't bought any for years but that would be good and would go with his gift Some other things I have always done with my boys is carwash gift certificates, or air freshener for their cars, simple little thinks like that Holly great job on keeping up with the exercise- I have started back on my exercise routine this week as well and so far haven't missed one day(night) going to start watching my eating as well because it is that time of year where my winter vacation is just around the corner and need to watch the weight- sure don't want to gain any before vacation :) Tammy & Colleen how is it going? I am sure you both are super busy - just make sure to take a breather once in a while :) Ok well last but not least Happy Birthday Holly (i know it isn't until tomorrow) but just in case I don't get to log in tomorrow for some reason or another :carrot: Do you have any plans? |
Holly hope you have a super day - I am thinking you are off so that is even better- Did you at least go out for a bit last night? or maybe tonight?

Birthday wishes
Happy Birthday Holly! :hat::hat::hat::hat:
Hope your days turn cheery soon! I've been bad! Eating bad, not posting, not motivated...If I was behaving, i would maybe feel like bragging up the progress and such. When being naughty--just want to hide out I guess. We were also naughty and bought OURSELVES Christmas goodies--TV, surround sound, computer. Last year I was buying for another family. I must have gotten a little selfish in 2010~! Tymaboy, if you are needing stuff for your DS to open, you can always opt for the stuff you would have gotten anyway...his favorite soda, snacks, socks, underwear, magazine...maybe a basket of his favorite snack goodies to watch TV!! Paintball helmet might be an option? Hi to you Reda and Tammy. I'll check in again soon. Promise. |
good morning, and thank you for the nice Happy Birthday wishes! I did have off, on Wednesday and my b-day yesterday, so I did all my 'have to do's' on Wednesday so I could chose to do whatever I wanted yesterday. First I worked out, and tried to really challenge myself, as I was thinking "okay this is a 50 yr old doing this for the first time".
Then I cleaned up around here some, I tackled a horrible dusty messy corner by the couch. There were all these wires, like electronic charging wires, and I thought they were for something? None of them were connected to anything! duh! and had been there for SO long. Afraid to tell you how long. Well with something like that, when its' nothing that I had anything to do with, putting them there, then I just let them stay there. Til I have to clean them up  Then I vacuumed thoroughly. And then decided to make the long trek (50 miles each way) to the Goodwill store. I found 3 tank tops (that I'll use for layering) 3 long sleeved shirts good for work, 1 shirt for summer, 2 pairs of jeans, two coats (like car coats I guess, you woudn't use them for shoveling but they are warm and cute) a pair of Sorrell boots (that I would use for when I shovel) 2 pairs of new gloves for the boys for Christmas, 3 pairs of earrings (2 pair suitable for work, 1 pair for summer rallies) for $68. Score! The jeans - the sizes are so crazy! right now I have a pair of jeans, they are 2 years old and I love them, they have a little stretch, they are a size 10 and this particular pair is loose enough around the hips that I can easily pull them down without undoing them. They are baggy in the legs too. However the new pairs fit well at a size 12 :o I really didn't want to go up size, I"m always aiming to go down, please! So driving there and back and shopping took a while, I got home around 5 pm, and DS #2 (20 yrs old) had made a cake! from a mix :D and frosted it. His first ever, and it was perfect. We went out to a local casual BBQ place, then back here for the cake and presents. DH got me a new Stephen King book that I didn't even know was out, its a collection of (long) short stories and the first one is horrible and depressing as ****, just like Stephen King but maybe not what I should be reading! And sons got me some Simpsons dvds, and a pair of gloves for shoveling, and some Olay Regenerist which I always ask for. I think I overate last night, what with the fries and BBQ sandwich, and then the cake and ice cream, my insides feel a little quivery so i haven't worked out yet, but I really should, I don't want to start slacking at all! things seem a little strained with DH and me and I don't know why. Nothing that I've done!! We're still WAITING to hopefully get the OK about the hospital grant, then he can get another MRI about his unending shoulder pain. It's been 5 or even 6 weeks since I submitted the paperwork! they did say it takes a while. Whew enough about me . Reda, congrats on your exercising!! Colleen, woohoo on gifties for you guys  tymaboy, I like Colleen's idea of wrapping some kinda simple things because everyone always likes to unwrap something, even underwear, those 3 packs of tank tops, gloves, socks, etc. Tammy hope you're good  and TY for your FB post! well I think my insides have calmed down enough for me to do a half hour of workout, then I have to get ready for work ( today's MY monday!) |
Hey ladies, just thought I would check in.
Holly, I am soooooo glad you had a good bday girl. And you are rockin' 50 so don't even worry about the size on the jeans. It is fine. I hope this strain with you and DH ends soon. It could just be his pain. A lot of men go through depression when they have gotten hurt in an accident, especially when they cannot do what they want. Tymaboy, since my boys are older they do get underwear and socks in their stockings. It kills 2 birds with one stone. lol. CC, thanks for the concern..... to answer your question I work about 70 hours a week. Coleen, How are ya girl? I miss your funny descriptions of life! And girl.... stop being so hard for not eating like you "should". Why dont you try to maintain what you are at now..... then hit it hard when the holidays are over? Okay, so I get to start bootcamp MOnday again b/c my training at 911 is over. I am working 3rd shift, so I will go to bootcamp after 3rd then go to work at the doctors office, then home for sleep so I can do it again. We will see how it goes. But, I have to keep bootcamp in the mix. HAVE TO! I have gained A LOT of weight ladies...... I guess being on the run so much I have gotten lax in my eating and then add not exercising to the mix and that equals trouble! So....... I am going to get my scales in working order and post my true weight.... which I figure is about 15 more than my ticker says. I will fix it when my scales are fixed though. I have got to run. I am sorry I don't get on daily...... maybe with the new schedule change it will be better? And, I am battling a cold. Okay- done whining. |
Hi girls- Had a craft fair last night and it went OK nothing spectacular but OK - I guess I look at it any extra money is good money :) One of my friends does Avon so she had a table as well so we got to catch up on things
Wow Holly you did score- its funny when you were talking about the pants that you can just pull down with unbuttoning well I have a few pairs of those and I like wearing them -maybe I think because of that I am getting skinny- but really when we go out to the bar its just easier :) Colleen you just have to sometimes buy for yourself- and you will get back on track when the time is right - I do have to say I have not missed one day of exercising since Monday so I think I should get off the computer and go workout before I loose interest today so with that Have a Great Weekend |
Good morning chicks, cold here (20) and some wind, that's nice not to have whipping wind. Just have a very light dusting of snow here, but there was maybe 5 or 6" that fell on the mountain yesterday. Good for business.
YAY to hear from Tammy!! 70 hours a week :faint: You are amazing, girl!! I always think that someone is gonna get irritated and then have that against us. It's been many many weeks, about 6 weeks now since I submitted the application. The local hospital is getting ready to have our account sent to Collections because I said I would send them $150 a month and they wanted $248. Did I already tell you this? sorry, losing my memory because of old age  But I'm not stressing about it. Work went by pretty quickly yesterday, anytime there's fresh snow, we're busy with people who are on their way to the mountain or coming back. Hope that's the case again today. Hope you all have a good Sunday  |
Holly before I forget what line of Olay Regenerist do you use- I have been looking the last couple of days then remember you posted something- there is so much out there I just don't know even where to start but need to start somewhere???? Thanks
Hi Tammy we were posting at the same time last time so I missed your post totally- 70 hours is alot of hours a week girl but with your drive you will be able to handle it just remember to take time for yourself :) I am the same with stocking always give socks and underwear plus a few other fun things and usually a couple Slim Jims and Pistachios (they love both) this year they are also getting clothes, new shoes, comforters because the ones they have are worn out and maybe alittle cash to finish it off Holly you know my brother and SIL had a pretty big hospital bill here in our town and they filled out paperwork to have it written off based on their income and all and if I remember right it took a couple of months so hopefully you will hear something soon- but you would think they would be happy with taking the $150 a month as opposed to giving the grant to have it written off?????? And glad to hear that you are not stressing over it because its not worth it  Well it is cold and snowing out today - I have a busy day with a craft fair today hopefully it goes better then teh one Friday night- I am steadily losing this week since exercising I have lost 3 pounds so good to go if I can just maintain that 2-3 pound lost before we leave I will be setting real good :) Well better get off computer and get some stuff done before leaving for the day  Colleen and Tymaboy |
Do you have room for a biker guy who needs to lose weight. I need to lose 50 lbs. Leatherman is a nick name my wife gave me because I love leather.
|
:welcome2: and I don't see why guys would not be allowed to chat with us- as you can probably see from our posts we do talk about everything and sometimes about our DH's(DH stands fro Dear Hubby) who sometimes really may tick us off- and maybe things that guys would not want to really hear or know about but at anytime you can surely chime in to our posts ;)
So maybe you could tell us alittle bit about yourself Well I am 40 years old and run 7 convience stores so very busy - I also make Crystal Bandanas that I sell online but thats only a hobby. Probably by my name and picture I do ride an Ironhorse Chopper but looking at getting a Roadking possibly sooner than later...... I am also the President of our local Eagle Riders Motorcycle Group- I have 2 boys 19 (almost 20 and 21) Ok so enough about me right now Hope everyone has had a great weekend and Holly hope you didn't work to hard today |
Hey Leatherman! You are more than welcome to post here. Like CC said, we do gripe about DH occasionally, but if you can overlook it.... I think you will like it here. And, who knows.... we may help your wife out with us griping about our DH. Just keep in mind that we don't do it all the time. We talk about a lot of issues. Work, riding, marriage, kids, jobs, riding events, FOOD, exercise, WL, etc.
CC, I am going to switch shifts this week. So, we are gonna see how it goes that way. I would like to continue to do both for as long as I can. HOWEVER, I did make a "deal" with myself tonight that i will NOT let it take over my life and gain all of my weight back. I don't want to make my health suffer. Thanks for the "drive" compliment.... DH calls it being bull headed. Lol Holly, I would think that as long as you are paying something that they would not turn you over to collections. That is the way it is here anyway. Like CC said, don't stress over it. And, just explain the situation you are in while you are checking status on your application. Hello, Tymaboy and Colleen. |
