Hawt-est Biker Chicks
Well need a new thread so I got it started :) Oh I did go back and copy and paste the last few messages
|
This was Tammys post:
Good Morning Ladies. First of all.... I need a little push. I am 1.5 pounds away from goal and our "aunt bee" or our Holly made a chocolate cake from scratch and chicken spaghetti with oozing cheese for 2 girls bday. I know if I eat the first bite of cake it will be over..... but I SOOOOO want some! I am trying to stay out of the kitchen. Holly, I am glad you got to ride! And your helmet sounds cute. I would expect nothing less from you since you are soooo crafty. I am glad the summer job count down has begun..... that means it is getting closer. You know, I love my HD..... but I was fine on my Honda. I am glad that your DS is getting a new bike. CC, I am glad you had a great time. Sorry you did not get to ride. And I know you are still doing great. Colleen, I am glad DH lost weight, just not the way he did it. And your 3 pounds is awesome! I am also happy you got to ride. Isn't it great after being cooped up to get out for just a little ride? Thanks for the kind words you said to Hopeful8 about us.... I think I speak for everyone else that we really enjoy you here. You are so freaking funny! Hopeful8..... how are you today? Well, I need to get busy. Tammy |
My Post:
Hi Girls Colleen thanks for the nice words, we are all friends on here and everyone including yourself are very supportive :) Glad to hear you got to ride and aren't those DH's the pits when it comes to weightloss, my DH has also been watching what he eats well actually he has been eating what I cook for him and he has lost over 20 pounds in like 3 weeks it takes me 2 months to lose 20 pounds :( When I see that slimquick commercial I always look at DH and say boy if that isn't the 100% truth :) he usual smiles and agrees Ya Holly you got to ride and yes I want to see your helmet, I am looking for a new helmet and will also want to customize mine with crystals and stuff so anxiously waiting to see what you did :) 30 days till summer job - yipeee I am so excited for you :) Oh Tammy I feel for you, it is going to be hard to pass up the cake and all but I know you will be strong because you know you only have 1.5 pounds to go so think of that when you look at that cake - think 1.5 pounds, 1.5 pounds no cake, 1.5 pounds- good luck honey you can do it Ok girls well my turn to go get on the treadmil for the day but I think we are supppose to get some sun tomorrow finally I may get to walk outside :) Ok girls have a great day |
Hopeful8 post:
What an absolutely beautiful day in Colorado. I got out on my bike for the first time this season. Just a quick zip around town, but that was all I needed to get me back in the mode again. |
My post:
Hello- nice to hear you got to ride alittle Hopeful8 - well I am hoping today to get on mine we are suppose to hit 50 but that remains to be seen ??? Well today I am back on my normal shift so hopefully after a week of this I will be able to get more exercise in and really feel like doing it Hump Day and 2 more days of work but I do need to get caught up in the rest of my stores since I have had to spend so much time at one Have a Happy Wednesday Happy St Pattys Day :) |
Thanks for the new thread! Boy you are on top of things!
|
Happy St. Patrick's Day Girls!
Yay Hopeful! It is so great to get to ride after they have been put up all winter! I have gotten to ride a couple times- just around town-nowhere long distance. CC- I know you are glad to be getting back to your normal work schedule! Colleen- are you making progress to be among the living? Holly- Can't wait to see you helmet pics! Well, I ate a small sliver of cake yesterday and about 3/4 a cup of chicken spaghetti. BUT, I did not nibble the rest of the day and for supper I had 3/4 of a turkey sandwhich. So...... (drum roll)....... I weighted this AM and I am UNDER GOAL (by one pound) But, I am not posting it as official yet. I am going to wait until my weigh day on Friday and see what the scales bring. This could just be water weight...... so, I am going to watch every little bite I eat today and see what Friday brings before I throw a party! I have said this before...... but yesterday I was getting heck from my co workers for not eating. I got remarks like "I would rather be fat and happy than "skinny" and miserable....... or what good did it do you to lose weight if you are not going to live life". They started in on the cake at 8:35. I knew if I did that it would set off a trigger..... and I told them that..... but it went unheard. So, I waited until lunch and ate what I ate. It just bothers me b/c no one said (before I lost weight), Hey Tammy you are gaining weight or man you eat a lot..... but now that I have lost it..... they feel they have the right to comment on my size (in a negative manner) or the way I eat. I try to take it in good humor...... but man....... it gets tiring sometimes. Thanks for listening to me vent..... I will gab at you later. Y'all have a good day! Tammy |
Wow!
Tammy, that's great! GOAL achieved! Way to go! :carrot: I sure wish I could help you out with a few pounds that your co-workers think you ought to be carrying around!
At lunch today I went to a "Farm Fair" at the local farm store. They had brats for a buck. I waited in line 10 minutes for one. I'm very persistant when it comes to food! That and a milk was lunch. Doctor told me to hang in there, finish up the drugs, and take it slow. I'm still coughing, but feeling MUCH better! I would like to "pick" what I have to take slow...like maybe I could trade off some stuff...No housework, because I want to go shopping, less work for more fun, less cooking for more riding! I somehow don't think DH, or the boss will see things my way! I'm car shopping...what are you all suggesting? I looked at SUV's but drove a Ford Mustang! What is practical is no fun. I want the best of both worlds. Got ideas? Cycles are good, but it's hard to take my Mom out on one! (walker or cane strapped on the back as she rides side-saddle with a back/hip brace!! or maybe strap a wheelchair on like a side car!! Hehe!) Take care all. Watch the corners as you ride! |
Well Colleen, when you get the Mustang we will "run 'em". I drive a Monte Carlo. It had always been my dream car, so 2 years ago I got it.... not it was not practical and I hate my son getting in and out of the back..... but I love the "fun" and power she has. I really need another SUV though.... but I don't see me trading in the Monte Carlo. They don't make them anymore..... and b/c of GM and their stunts it is not worth what I owe on it.... but its okay. "she" is a good car. (Knock on wood).
So... if you figure out how to selectively "take things slow" like housework and it does not pile up for you to do.... please do share! Lol. Did you enjoy the brat? I am not posting "at goal" until Friday, I am trying to see what's up with it. Tonight is our Atzimba's night (Mexican restaurant in town). I split fajitas with DH...... I WON'T miss that...... goal or not. Lol. But, I only have like 13-16 points (depending on the chip consumption). So, we will see. However, if I do too bad I will do 2 boot camps tomorrow. |
Good evening and Happy St. Patrick's Day
Thank you Reda for the new thread! I am so glad you are back on your regular schedule. Continued big congrats to your DH on his big losses! And I hope things dry out for you to walk. Colleen  you are hilarious, girl! Tammy - :bravo::dance::dancer::high::hyper::cheer3::congra t::celebrate: (wow we have alot of positive 'way to go' smilies!) And you have taken 'the higher road' in not snapping at the co-workers as maybe I would have  especially the snarky 'I would rather be fat and happy than skinny and miserable'. Incredible! I would have said, 'do I look miserable?' but you are doing the right thing by not taking their bait. Hopeful8, I'm so glad you got to ride! It has been freakishly mild here. We usually still have tons of snow and consistent cold during ALL of March. Still lots of snow in the woods but soooo much has melted. It got to the high 50's today! I rode without chaps! and was warm enough. Still have to bug DH to take pic of my helmet. Reda, I gotta find a link for you to see some Swaroski crystalled helmets that are very expensive but so pretty. I will do some yard work tomorrow, mostly to tackle some dog evidence..I will time it carefully so they are still frozen but will fling easily with the rake into the woods  ugh! I switched my step today! I found a sturdy wooden step stool. My usual foam step was 5 and 3/4" , the new step is 8 and 3/4"! What a challenge! I will be using that one from now on. Anything to help fight my terrible eating. I am not sure if the high pressure system that has been giving us beautiful clear blue skies is responsible for some pressure in my head, or if it is some sinus congestion, but I am also feeling ( I think ) some tooth pain :( I do have some unresolved dental jobs and just always put them off. I made more of a British dinner than Irish, but I hate corned beef and the cabbage stinks up the house too much. So I made 'bangers and mash' which are sausages and mashed potatoes. But I cheated and used boxed instant mashed potatoes, added chives and sauteed onions, and shaped them into pancakes and fried them. OH! Older son got his new (leftover '09) FZ1 yesterday! It is a HOT looking bike. He loves it. It is a rocket!! almost 1000 cc's, inline 4 engine as opposed to a V-twin, and like 140 hp I think  |
Great News Holly that is that your DS got his new bike, he will love it
Well DH has been cheating alittle the last couple of days and I haven't one bit- and let me tell you his mother brought down some peanut butter cookies with a hershey kiss in the middle - ohhh my favorite and I have resisted and I am going to keep resisting till I weigh in Saturday then I will have one- I know I can do this it is only 2 more days :) Holly you are an exercise freak, which is a good thing and an 8 3/4" step wow that is huge you are rocking it girl if you can do that :carrot: PLEASE FIND AND SEND ME THAT LINK- I will do some searching but if you find it let me know- Are you going to be able to get DH to post a picture of yours? Oh and if you know any good websites with helmets for sale- I did find one at the Harley Shop but it is a couple hundred dollars so not so sure because we do not have a helmet law and I usually do not wear one unless we go to a state that has a helmet law and this summer riding into Canada we will need DOT approved Helmets Colleen you are to funny  but hey keep it up we always need a laugh and I love the Ford Edge - I will have one someday when the pickup gets paid off- But I do love the Mustangs as well DH's boss let me take a program one last summer and it was a convertible, I had a blast with it :) Let us know what you decide on getting Tammy you do have alot of self control with your co-workers because let me tell you I would not be taking it so lightly -I agree with Holly I would have had to at least say something "Do I look miserable to you?" Arrrgh that just really pis*es me off and they aren't even saying it to me- I am even making noises with my mouth and DH had to ask what is making me so mad so I had to tell him - :bravo: way to go Tammy on making goal even if you think it is early you made it today :) Holly I agree 100% with corn beef & cabbage it STINKS really does and that is why we don't go out on St Pats Day because I can't stand the smell and everyone makes it Well I guess I need a new caliper on my front brake -so tomorrow I will get to do some calling to see if I can find one- well actually I will have DH do the calling since he knows what is needed, hope its not to expensive but what do you do......... Well girls tomorrow is Thursday and 2 days left of work- Well Holly I know you have to go back to work buy hey you are under 30 days left at winter job :) have a great night |
good morning!! before I forget, here is the website Reda - http://www.mistressbiker.com/html/bo...ith_bling.html
gosh they are REALLY expensive :eek I don't know why DH hasn't taken a pic yet of my helmet :( I will just have to nag more :D |
Good Morning Ladies,
Holly, I am glad you are getting some ride time in. You know, I hope the warmer weather we are all getting now does not mean we are going to have a HOTTER summer  I can't wait to see your helmet. You are so crafty. And, I don't blame you for the not wanting that cabbage and cornbeef smell :barf: We did our normal Mexican night at Atzimbas. I love that place simply b/c they give me what I want. They don't raise an eyebrow to me and DH sharing fajitas, they bring me an extra plate, etc. Just good service and the BEST chips.... mmmm.. Girl, with that big step you are going to have some major buns of steele! You go girl. Sorry you are going to have to do doggie clean up...... Thank goodness Jake does his business on a walk. So..... are you going to get to ride the new bike? I bet he is soooo proud. You know how they extended the federal tax deduction on the new home purchase, you may want to see if he is able to claim that purchase on his taxes. It was a decent deduction for DH and I this year. CC, I bet you are soooo glad you are getting off that early morning shift. I am not sure I could resist the cookies. Lol. But, you are doing great! It is good you are getting all the bike repairs and stuff done now..... I sure hope this is a good riding season. We decided we are not going to Vegas again, but instead of gifts for our anniversary we are going to take trips.... not sure where we are going yet. But I am ready! Colleen- you are a hoot! I know we would all get in trouble if we met. Lol. Hopeful8- How are you today? Thanks for the support on the comments of coworkers. I know that they are "jealous" b/c one of them has told me that..... but, I would not be that way to them if the shoe was on the other foot. Anyway...... I would not trade how I feel for a piece of cake or their jealousy. I know there is a debate on another thread about tanning..... but I have been tanning for a couple weeks now. My theory is I want to be a normal weight and tan for just one season. Lol. Then I may not ever tan again. I know it is bad for you. I am fair skinned to begin with..... but I just want to have the "total package" for one season. Well, I am going to get busy now. Y'all have a good day. Tomorrow is my official weigh in day...... and I am still holding steady..... so maybe I will get to move the ticker tomorrow. :dancer::crossed: |
good afternoon! this morning I did the Keli Roberts step aerobics tape. That's the one that recently I have added ankle weights, and hold the 3.3 pound dumb bells? Well doing it with the BIG step today...oh my gosh..little baby half pound soft weights in each hand with that big step and I was dying!! :D it was like i was doing it for the first time. Whoa. I hope it shows benefits soon!!
The dog duty was not that bad!! thank goodness!! I had been letting Eddie do his deal in a certain part of the yard that in summer is not mowed because it's all high grass and just goes wild so I didn't think it mattered to have him go there. So there was not that much in the general yard area to 'fling'. And did some general raking which makes things look so much better. The driveway (unpaved) is still a wet puddly sloppy muddy mess in spots. and I raked around where my beloved peonies are, and started to give them lots of water, that makes such a difference in the number of blooms when they finally appear in June. Tammy - you go ahead and tan! we all know the risks, and just make your decision. I agree, go with the 'whole package' this time :D hey, I also did the Crest White strips 2 years ago with the tanning, and the highlights in the hair, for my 'complete package'. I would have manicures too, except I think I have the worst nails in the world, except for maybe some dirt farmer in China who plows with his hands  I LOVE the look of ladies' hands who have the French manicure. There is a thread today about Lori Bell who snapped at an annoying lady at church who was loudly talking about what Lori Bell had wisely chosen at a buffet. Some people were saying she should apologize but I said no. it's here http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/weig...-comments.html Oh gosh, I don't know if DS would want me to try his new bike..though I would sit on it alot better than his previous bike, that V-Strom was SO high I was tippy-toeing the one time I sat on it. Good point about possibly the price being somewhat tax-deductable, will check that out, thanks! :) Glad you had a nice Mexican dinner at a place that doesn't sniff at you for sharing entrees. Reda dayum to resist the Hershey kiss cookies, you are ROCKIN! and I KNOW I have seen somewhere, for sale, rhinestone 'pieces' (one piece decorations) that are to be glued onto the helmet, that were alot less expensive than the helmets I linked to. If I can find them I will let you know! Yeah you will need a DOT helmet, fine ones can be bought for maybe $40 online? I might have to re-do my helmet, I already lost one pink crystal. Guess I was going too fast yesterday :D Also the disadvantage to how I did it (gluing on individually) is that it is very easy to get a smear of glue on the crystal and makes it less sparkly. HI Colleen! :wave Hi Hopeful8! well I still have laundry to do, and haven't been out on the bike ... yet :D oh and my slight tooth pain from yesterday has gone away, I hope like heck that it was just sinus pressure or something that caused it. Have a great afternoon!! |
rhinestone helmet patches!

Torture
When it's 70 degrees out and your stuck in an office, looking outside, it's like pure torture! Way too nice to be stuck at work. I did have tomorrow scheduled off, but had to trade a day with a coworker. Next Friday I'll have off--I predict snow, rain, and tornados for THAT weekend! It could be worse...I could have your type schedules. I am spoiled with the 8-5 and weekends off!
Holly, I don't miss the dog duty at all! With former Saint Bernard's it was like land mines instead of yard sausages! You all are like angels! I'm terrible. It's hard to not cheat on eating. I, no kidding, got up in the middle of the night and ate half a box of wheat crackers and a soda. Not that I was hungry, or wide awake, or any other "good" excuse. I was falling asleep eating them for cryin' out loud!! I have no idea what gets into me. (besides crackers! Hehe!) There was NO reason for that. I don't know why I did it. It was stupid! I was sleep-eating! made me do it! Good for you to have such good willpower! |
Well it is a Great Afternoon and we have reached 50 degrees so I am going to go get the bike out for just a bit- even without front brakes but the back ones work great- I won't go far but just have to do it :) Snow and rain coming tomorrow and back into the 30's we go :(
Thanks Holly for getting those websites for me I will check them out tonight when we get home :) You are the greatest Well girls I have still resisted the cookie but let me tell you last about 10 I was so going to get one then I decided just go to bed so thats what I did however DH has not been as strong I got up to go potty and went right back to bed which must have woke DH up so he gets up goes to kitchen and he is in there for quite some time but when I woke up I noticed a couple of cookies were missing so he must have ate them in the middle of the night - Oh well he knows to save me one and only one :) Well girls I will check back in later I am going to get the bike out for a bit :) Tammy taking trips is what we like to do instead of gifts as well- Our anniversay is Jan 7th and my birthday is Feb 1 so we take a warm vacation for both |
TGIF thank goodness :)
Tammy I forgot to mention yesterday that I do tan alittle as well - I know the risks but I am not tanning everyday - I get a base tan going then I usually tan once maybe twice a week just to keep it going and I am an easy burn so I only get in bed for no more than 7 minutes on occasion maybe 8 but usually 7- it does make you feel good and if you can get alittle power nap in :) You have every right to have the whole package you have done such a wonderful job and you look amazing so enjoy it girl :) Well we are snowing and only like 30 degrees out to day I want yesterday back so I can ride again - I did ride and boy was it nice :) Off to work I will check back in later |
Today is going to be a great day... it is going to be 70s here, I get off at noon, DH is off so we are going to ride...... and.........
I AM AT GOAL..... ACTUALLY ONE POUND LESS. I HAVE BEEN HERE FOR 3 DAYS.... BUT I DID NOT WANT A FALSE POST! I AM SOOOO FREAKING HAPPY! :carrot: I want to thank you all for all of the support! CC, Good job on resisting the cookie! I know how hard it is. Colleen, I promise, If I can do this you can too! Holly, I am glad you got a new step...... I know you are going to reap the benefits soon! Hopeful8, Now, here is the crazy thing about our weather..... they are calling for snow on Sunday. That is nucking futs! |
CONGRATULATIONS TAMMY!! ONE POUND PAST GOAL!!! WOOOOHOOOOO!!!! :bravo: :cp: :cloud9: :encore: :woohoo: :cheer3: :congrat: :broc: :cheer:
|
Tammy Congratulations - way to go :congrat: and to boot under goal :carrot:
Tomorrow is weigh in for me so hopefully it will be good :) Colleen, Hopeful8 Going to check out the websites that Holly gave me so talk to you later |
Wow Holly you weren't kidding when you said they were spendy- $399 way to much I bet yours looks way better than theirs even- so now off to check out the other websites you sent me - wasn't to fond of those ones anyways and do you really think that if you put crystals on your helmet that it will change the DOT status like they state it could possibly?
|
Ok I think I am really like this one since my bike is a red chopper- oh this would be a helmet patch for the helmet I buy
http://www.ironhorsehelmets.com/imag...lder/Skull.jpg |
Hey girls! I've been lurking for a few days, decided to say hello. I am riding my first bike, an '08 Vulcan 500 (have to start small for the first couple years or pay outrageous insurance here). We bought it used with only 2,000 km on it, so it's still brand new. Hubby surprised me with it back in August for my 40th birthday and I just love her. I've been a passenger since I was a teen and always wanted my own but life, family, and finances always had different ideas.
Speaking of helmets, it sounds strange to hear you say you don't wear them. It's law here so it's just second nature to us. I paid $600 (on sale) for my Shoei helmet, but I also have a half helmet that was $100. I actually prefer the full-face Shoei. It's all in what you get used to. A neighbor I ride with can't stand a full-face helmet. Also want to send congrats to Tammy for reaching and surpassing goal. You must be over the moon!! |
Welcome Wildfire- Well to start off we have a few thinks in common of course the obvious RIDING- but I just turned 40 in February as well oh and another we are riding into Canada this summer before heading into Sturgis but I think our ride plan takes into Manitoba, Sasketwan(sp?), Calgary and then back into the states I believe
Oh helmets well we do not have a helmet law so therefore I have never worn one because of that -I do have a novelty helmet for when we ride into states that require a helmet but going into Canada and going through customs I thought I had better get a DOT helmet so they don't turn us around for that :) My name is Reda and I have been riding for 11 years and I started out with a 650 yamaha vstar but then went to a 1100 Vstar and then 2 summers ago bought my chopper :) and love it. I have 2 boys who are 19 & 20 and also ride and race :) So summers are super busy around my house We are all a great group of internet friends here as we are all spread apart across the states, we do talk about anything and everything and support each other 100%- Weekends sometimes get a little scarce on here especially with the nicer weather lurking around but Holly, Tammy, Collen, and Hopeful8 will chime in as well Ok well girls I lost 2.6 pounds this week even with going to Deadwood last weekend so I was doing the happy dance this morning :carrot: I also am now in my middle size jeans as I have 3 different sizes which means about 10-15 more pounds I will be in my smaller jeans well the smallest I have been in since having children and that is where I am comfortable at as well so I am going to start working harder but I am really happy with the 2 pounds per week :) you know for me that means exercising more than half hour a day walking ..... I may need a kick in the butt because I have gotten so off track with the exercise over the last 3 months :( Well girls I suppose I should get off here and try to get some stuff done around the house so I will check in later hope you are having a great day |
Welcome Wildfire, and thanks for the congrats! You are right, I am over the moon excited. My name is Tammy, I am 36. My DH bought me my first bike almost 3 years ago. It was a 96 Honda Shadow 1100. Then I got an 08 HD Roadster Sportster, but only kept if for about 9 months b/c my DH and I were going to Vegas to get married and everyone swore the sportster would be too uncomfortable, so I got an 09 Dyna Superglide. I love her! The ride to Vegas was awesome on her. I have 2 boys, 1 is 20, he is leaving in April to go to Kosovo in the military, the other is 16. We all ride as a family, like the other ladies on here. For that reason (b/c the boys were in HS) I just got in the habit of a helmet. I rarely ride without one. We are in a no helmet law state, however Memphis, TN is a stones throw away and it is a helmet law state, in fact all the states around us are.
CC,- It is freaking awesome that you lost 2.6 pounds and still went to Dearwood! I am so proud for you. I am also proud you are into smaller sizes. I am in the size I was before I had kids also. It is wonderful. My youngest son has his friends comment all the time about my WL! It feels great. I want you to know everyone I tell about the vodka/crystal lite drink knows who you are. It is like it is the "ChopperChick" special drink for WL. Lol. I love the helmet design. It is so fitting! I am with you..... I would not pay $399 for a helmet for me..... but I did get an ACDC full face helmet for my son that was regularly $400 on sale for $169. He loves that helmet. When he broke his arm on the bike, he was not worried about his arm.... he wanted to make sure the helmet was not hurt. Lol. My DH said, well he has his priorities. Lol. Holly, Colleen, how are you two? We did not ride today we went to a bike show. We could have ridden if DS did not go with us, but he is not ready for Memphis on a bike yet..... well-- he maybe but my nerves are not. Lol. I am going to get off here. Y'all have a good day. Tammy |
good evening and welcome Wildfire! it will be nice to have you here with us :)
Reda, CONGRATS!!! on being down another 2+ pounds!! you are doing soooo well :carrot: I love that chopper rhinestone piece, how perfect for you. Huh, that is weird about the disclaimer about the DOT thing...how could putting crystals on your helmet invalidate it as DOT approved..? Hi Tammy (She Who Is Below Goal :D ) Hi Colleen! are you still having warm weather? Well so much for me carefully washing my hands at work all the time, I came home last night feeling 'off' and woke up with a head cold  Sneezing, sinus pressure, and awful runny nose all day, just feeling yuk . I feel somewhat lucky because I haven't had a cold since last April. But ugh. I am going to go to bed soon, rest always feels good. Our string of incredible warm, sunny days came to an end today. Overcast and cool. Now our highs will be in the low 40's for a few days. have a good night ladies  |
Thanks for the welcome! I've been around on and off for a long time, and I used to read the biker chicks thread a few years back. When I'm here I hang out with the Royals here in the Support Forum.
Reda, how do you feel about being 40? It really didn't bother me, but I don't feel 40. In my mind I'm still about 27! That's quite the ride you have planned on the way to Sturgis. I've never had a customs guard ask about my helmet when crossing either way to/from the States, but we have to have DOT helmets anyway. Better to be safe than sorry - it would be awful to get that one guard who decides to check and turns you around! Congrats on sending those 2.6lbs on their way! Tammy, I spent a lot of time on the back of a '96 Sportster riding with a neighbor. He got a Road King a couple of years ago, and it's a gorgeous bike, but honestly I liked the Sporty better! The Road King has that full passenger seat with arms and takes away that thrill of being on the back of a bike in my opinion. It's cool that you girls ride as families. My DH bought me the bike, but he doesn't ride. I made him take the safety course and get licensed when I did, just so he knows how to move my bike if I ever need him to and it's all legal. He bought a 2010 Dodge Challenger last summer and the neighbors tease him that he just needed something cool to park next to my bike! VermontMom, I hope you get over the cold quickly. I'm just over one myself - it's on the go everywhere here. Good excuse to get some extra rest. Feel better! |
Oh Holly so sorry you are getting a cold but you are also not having so great of weather so get it over with before it gets warm and you want to ride :)
Tammy how was the bike show - totally understand driving instead of having son ride into town- we took the boys out to Sturgis on an off weekend a couple of times before we took them over Sturgis - just so that they were familiar with the roads and all - but then again that has been like 4 shoot maybe 5 years ago. Wildfire well turning 40 really didn't bother me a bit, you know I have been saying I couldn't wait till I turned 40 because then I would get to start living life because the boys will be of age and we would be able to do what we want when we want per say- I mean if we want to take off for a weekend then we can, now we can just let them know that we are heading out of town and good to go :) Ya as for helmet we want to play it safe so I will shop went to Harley Shop last night but didn't find one that I like or course without spending $200 and of course I don't want to spend $200 on one so I will keep looking.... Well girls I should get off here and start getting some stuff done before I have to get my meals planned out for the week :) Have a great Sunday |
Holly, add me to the feel like poop- mini thread. Since I hit goal.... I have been in the bathroom non stop and my back is killing me! It is hard to walk. I can't imagine how I am going to do boot camp tomorrow  I hope your cold clears up. At least it is not pretty outside and both of us are missing riding days.
Wildfire, LOL at your husband having to get a challenger to park next to your bike. That is funny. CC, you know, now that I read your post about the crystals, I remembered I wanted my first helmet custom painted and they would not do it b/c it would not be DOT anymore. They said it breaks down that "shell" that is the safe part. I had totally forgotten that. Colleen, how are you? I will be back later today. I am off to have lunch with my oldest son. Might as well eat a good one.... it won't stay down. :( |
good morning chicks, sorry I wasn't on at all yesterday.
Tammy I am sorry you are sick!! :( I sure hope you are better today. I am feeling a little better overall but still have tons of pressure in my head, you know when you feel your sinuses burning and filling up and then the pressure shifts from one side to the other..I guess that is also what is aggravating my teeth, my whole mouth feels so tight. Well enough complaining, I couldn't be riding anyway with back to snow yesterday and cold and gray today. Didn't work out Sat. or Sunday of course, I am debating about today. You'd think my appetite would have been down but I always feel hungrier when I have a cold. I hate losing days of working out because I need to burn every calorie i can! Hi Wildfire, hi CChick, hi Colleen! :) As you know I'm on the countdown of the icky winter job!! (today means 23 more days) and even better, the boss has been out of town from last Wednesday, to next Wednesday :carrot: it truly makes it so much better without him there. going to put on my workout clothes and see if I can get through something. Have a good monday chicks  |
Good Monday Morning - well I only have a 4 day work week this week and then I am off on Friday, Sat, Sun and Monday - I have 2 days I have to use by March 31st or lose them and I sure am not going to lose them :)
Anyways hope you two get to feeling better soon Holly only 23 days left before you get to go to your fun job that is awesome and will be here before you know it - nice that the boss is gone and when he comes back you will be off work :) Well girls better get off computer and get to work so talk to you later Oh ya got to go for a ride yesterday it was only 48 out but I rode with DH and it got me out of the house for a couple of hours |
Good Morning Ladies.
I am a bit better this AM. My back still reminds me it is there. I did get up and go to boot camp this AM..... even though I did not really feel like it. I did not want my first day of "maintenance" to be anything less than successful, so I know I HAVE to continue to exercise. Maybe not quite as much, but I do need to continue. Holly, I hope you are better. Surely knowing you are within a month of leaving the dreadful winter job makes it better. Especially if the "butt of a boss" won't be there until Wednesday, then you get a couple days off. With your exercise, I really think you should take a day or so off. Maybe correlate it with your days off b/c you stay pretty busy? CC- I am glad you are back on a normal shift! I bet you are too. Hi Colleen and Wildfire  Well, it is rainy and nasty here (it is Spring Break, what else would it be. Lol), but Wednesday they are projecting 70s. I may have to ride to work! I don't have boot camp that day so..... I don't have to wear work out clothes. That could be my first riding day of the year (to work). DH is at home in bed. He has horrible allergies and he had a bad attack last night. He normally has to get an injection and sleep the next day. I hate this time of year for him..... but love it for me. Well, I am going to get busy. Tammy |
good evening chicks :) Tammy I'm glad you're a little better, hopefully your back will let you forget its there, if you know what I mean :D I'm glad you were able to Bootcamp today. You did great for your first official day of Maintaining! Sorry to hear that your DH had such a bad allergic reaction.
Reda, woohoo for 4 days off in a row! and I"m glad you got to ride with DH, though it must have been cold. I did work out this morning, did 30 Day Shred level 3. And my head didn't split open! though my sinus kept burning and made me sneeze alot. and even better about my job countdown - after 23 days from now, I have off for almost 3 weeks...and since I'm technically laid off, I won't be paycheck-less. Then about the first week of May is when I go back to the Club  Last year, during that time off, I was able to do outside work, worked out every day, and tried to do 'damage control' from the winter weight. Hopefully I can do that again!! Tammy - aren't you a kettlebell user? can u tell me more about it? I read some stuff online..and I am intrigued and interested. have a nice night and talk to you tomorrow! |
Good Morning ladies.
Holly, I hope your sinus stuff goes away soon! Yay that you get 3 weeks off (with pay--sort of). I bet you can do some damage control. You know, if I can just stay away from the kitchen when I am home and find things to do.... I don't focus as much on food. I did do the Kettlenetics DVD (I sold it on ebay). I was not into the "dance" stuff she was doing. But I think you can get the DVDs with the kettlebell in WM. But, I would think if you just "swung" in front of you and around your head (they call it a halo) a few times a day it would be good. They also did a lot of figure "8"s around the legs like in basketball, or using it to "row" like an orr in a boat. Other than that, I did not get much use from the tape. I am thinking you could also use it in when you are doing crunches. I don't have much to gab about this AM. DH is a little better. My back is good... (knock on wood). Hey Colleen, Wildfire, and CC! Tammy |
Hello girls sorry just getting on but Had a Garage Party tonight at our Harley Dealership 30 miles away so I attended it was good plus we got 20% off any riding gear, boots, coats, helmets, chaps, gloves, eyeglasses so of course I bought my helmet that I wanted and what a deal got it for $65 bucks and of course they measured my head and I needed an XS and they only 4 helmets in the XS and 2 of them were still to big, who would have thought I had a small head??????
Well glad everyone is feeling better today that is great- Holly that is great that you will be getting somewhat of a paycheck while off work for that time period and I do remember how much work you got done last year while off, you are such a go getter :) Well girls it is 10pm and I just got home but I have a few things to do before going off to bed :) |
Good Morning ladies. I am off work today. It is spring break and 70, so I made a deal with another co worker (b/c I figured she would call in anyway)... so I am off today. DS and I are going to ride bikes to see a movie when he crawls out of bed at the crack of noon. Lol.
So, my boot camp trainer told me to maintain aim for 1500 calories a day, 35 fiber, and no more than 35 fat. That seemed like a lot of fiber to me.... but I got to looking and for the most part I was already eating a lot of fiber. I just have to add a few more grams. CC, I went from a L helmet to a S.... who would have thought you would lose weight in your head. :D So, was Jillian Michaels at that Garage Party at the HD dealership? I hear she has partnered with HD for women's health and riding. Colleen, we miss your humor! Holly, can you tell the new step is making a difference? Are you using ankle weights with it yet? Hi Wildfire and Hopeful8, How are you two? Well, I am going to get off here. Jake is begging for a walk. I am going to run a mile after walking him..... then see if DS is ready to get up. Talk to you later. |
Hi All!
I've been busy. Sorry...don't think I forgot you all! Not too busy to forget about eating, just too busy to get anything else done!
This weekend DH and I are going to take a couple of days for us. We are taking the HD to LaCrosse for the night. Staying in a hotel and spending a day of fun and car shopping. ;) Last night I was at my Momma's house for supper. I seldom go, it was nice. I terrorized their little mutt-pug dog that bit me last time I took care of him. I got out will all of my fingers intact! Monday we had the plumber to our house for some changes that needed to be made, and for a kitchen faucet that doesn't leak! Who-hooo! It's the little things that make life grand! Over the weekend we took the cycle out for a cruise to nowhere (that's the best place to go!) and ended up visiting with some friends. Saturday we had taken my daughter and her SH to pick up a bunch of building supplies for a kitchen remodel project. We also got my stove and microwave, and installed them. Lots of new buttons! So far I have only ruined a Hot Pocket. My old microwave was not nearly as powerful as the new one!! Yikes...the Hot Pocket wasn't on fire, but it tasted like it had been! Last week was all a blur. I'm sure something good happened to tell you about, but I can't really think what that would have been right off the top of my head! This week, I'm off on Friday through Monday. :carrot: I have been searching for a leather cycle jacket for fatties. I'm having no luck. I did have a catalog from Woman Within that had one, and now they are out. I move too slow on things like that I guess! What I do have is an awesome new set of small HD chaps and a HD (mens) $400 coat! They are very nice, but I'm afraid I'll never get to use them in my lifetime! I haven't worn a small since 3rd grade! Anyone have a need for these items? I would try to sell them for 1/2 price I guess. They came with the cycle. The owner of the cycle bought the garb for his wife, but she never rode. She's a tall, thin gal. His matching stuff is half worn, and DH loves the coat! It is nice, but the chaps are a little tight! Told him it looked like he was trying to show off his package in those! He didn't wear them for long! Hope you are all having good days. |

I am still groovin on the Big Step - maybe today I will try it with the ankle weights and see if I :faint: so you are able to follow those fiber/fat guidelines the trainer suggested? is most of the fiber from veggies? I truly do need to stop obsessing about thinking about eating! because when I am involved in doing something else, I don't think about food until I am actually hungry (what a concept). It is just an unfortunate fact that even if I am not hungry, as soon as I enter the store,(work) the aromas just immediately kick up my appetite (I don't even like the smell of raw onions, but they are an appetite stimulator big time for me) Yesterday, as it was total thick cloud cover and cold, I chose to just curl up on couch and watched two movies (The Sixth Sense, and The Fugitive). Today I need to tackle laundry. hope everyone has a good day  |
Welcome back Colleen! You are such a hoot! I am not in a small..... sorry, I cannot offer any help. Lol at your torturing the dog. My boys would love you. They torture my boston terrier. I am glad you are going to have a little fun after your being on the brink of death with pneumonia.
CC, what kind of helmet did you get? Mine has little flame like things on it. Holly, I totally understand about thinking of food all the time. I did not count fiber/fat yesterday b/c my DS and I had a day out together. He told me to leave the diet at home. Lol. But, even this AM on the way from boot camp to work, I was wondering how I ate before when I was at a normal weight...... I mean, I did not think of food all the time, but now I do. I know not to eat sugar b/c that starts the day of bingeing. As for getting in fiber and stuff, I have found whole wheat tortillas that have 8 grams each and they are 1 point..... so they will be a staple in my diet. I will let you know tomorrow how I get it in.... if I do. I know I have always eaten more fiber than the "normal American) b/c most do not get more than 10g a day..... but I don't think I am hitting 35. DS and I went to see "Bounty Hunter" it was a pretty good movie. I have an issue with them using "GD" in it..... but other than that, it was good. I am going to get busy. Will gab at you later. |
