Hey ladies, I ended up taking myself back to the emergency room last nite. Had blood work, urine tests and all that fun stuff done and got booked for an 'urgent' ultra sound this morning. All the tests came back fine, so...this pain is WHO KNOWS WHAT?! but its still very very painful. They gave me a shot of demerol last night and it didnt really help the pain just made me sleepy which helped sleep is always good.

Ok... did all your bloodwork turn out ok?? Your urine tests??? Where exactly is your pain upper abdomen or lower abdomen, have you had a bowel movement??? Any change in your bowels?? Are you passing gas?? Just asking because I am curious to find out what could cause you so much pain. Keep us posted.

My scale showed that I am up today... I didn't go in today after I woke up because I had an ear ache today, and then when I saw I was up I was upset. Lots of water tonight for me, plus tomorrow is measurement time which is the most exciting thing for me, not the scale. Dang those salt and vinegar rice cakes... I didn't cave in to the chocolate but I nibbled on salt and vinegar rice cakes??? go figure.

Ok opinion time... I like my coffee and since I have widdled down to 1 0r 2 a day or sometimes none, I can't drink Timmies coffee black, any other coffee I can drink black but not theirs, I don't like splenda because for me it leaves a bad taste on my tongue and I find it bitter in everything that contains it. I don't like wasting my dairy on coffee, so do you think a little fat free creamer would hurt. I know HM would say absolutely NOT but I think calcium should be in our yogurt or milk for our bone health girls!!! Think about calcium supplements!!! Need your input girls. I am addicted to mint/green tea which I can drink that none stop, but still need my coffee for night shift!!!

Gotta go... lunch for work is all packed, got to feed the rugrats now

Default Ok a question I want everyone to answer....

Why did each one of you choose Herbal Magic as your source for weight loss???
Mine is the center is down the street, and second I need to be accountable to someone else, I could eat a whole days worth of points and still eat junk, I wasn't ready to learn what healthy eating was or I didn't feel like changing.

I am an info junkie, magazines, diet books, diet articles, I would be thin by now if I used what I know!!! Oh yeah that would mean exercise too!!! OH boy.

Also I want you to list your favorite features of your body... I just finished looking at some notso flattering pictures of myself so I need this as a little pic me up.... mine is my eyes!!! I will post my favorite pictures on my blog.

Hey everyone! Welcome to those who recently joined!

UFF: Yikes, hopefully everything gets sorted out... I also love sleep and hope to get some after night class and the gym!

Chantal: I totally understand with the hubby thing... going through something like it myself.

Lee: I picked HM on my mother's advice after she told me that it was successful for a few of her co-workers. I've never been much of a dieter, I used to focus on controlling my portions. What that apparently got me was the slowest metabolism in the world (which meant that even with curling, golfing and gym visits last year my weight stayed the same)

As far as my favourite features, I also like my eyes but mostly because of my eyelashes I think... my students always ask me if I put fake lashes on in the morning (like I have nothing else to do with my time haha). I am also very happy that my body is mostly proportionate and that I carry my weight very well. That said though, it would be nice to have a "trouble area" that would allow me to notice the changes more. I'm the type of person that can gain or lose 15 pounds and no one really notices a difference.

Gotta hate snacks at work!! Also having issues with the socials still. Went to WI on Sat. and was down 2.4 lbs (they rounded to 2) for a total of 17 pounds and about 21 inches. Hopefully this week is as good if not better... but I doubt that will happen as I had way too many non-approved beverages on Sat and did not eat all of my food on sunday or Monday... although I did make it to the gym yesterday and am going tonight. Also hoping to get there 2 more times before my next weigh in on Sat.

Sorry for the ramble... haven't posted in a while and apparently had a lot to say!

Good luck and good planning for tomorrow everyone!

Ok... I had those last night as my Free Exchange (under 100 calorie thing).
Is that not OK? I know, I know... a bit higher in sodium... but once in a while, shouldn't really make you GAIN!

Michele - Keep it up! It's a bit like what they said last night at the Biggest Loser...it's all about achieving a BALANCE in your life. It's hard for us...it's a LIFESTYLE change but we have to give ourselves a break.

UFF - Hopefully you feel better!!! Let us know what's going on with you!!

Last night I watched the Biggest Loser (LOVE that show). It made me realize that I need to BALANCE my life. I can't start beating me up when I get a craving for something...we are human. You could see how going back home messed them up and some of them were going INSANE... to the point of being exhausted!! I saw myself a bit here & there... I'll miss that show!!

I'm doing good...very good. Very motivated and I'm happy to see that yes, I had a bad 3 days last week but it's ok!! I'm human, and it's a new week and I'm back on track... Woopi for me!!!

WI & Measurements tonight... we shall see

Welcome fbenjamin!
UFF: THAT BLOWS!! I hope you don't have too many attacks before June 1. Hang in there!
Lee2lee: Good job on resisting!
Chantal: Way to go on your loss in spite of a few off days! You're doing great!

Personally, I am stuggling again. The stressors are back and old habits die hard. Plus, I've been on the go alot going to medical appts. for my back and haven't been doing a good enough job planning ahead which means I end up coming home ravenous and my 'full' feeling never kicks in.
But, today is a new day and I have a few days before weigh-in to kick it into high gear. Wish me luck! I welcome any pep talk. This has been a rough go for me!

No need to go any further than this!! THIS is the #1 KEY I believe... cause when I do not PLAN, I cheat...I eat...

Try to stick to one thing for this week - PLANNING!

Yes, I must agree with Chantal, planning is key! Otherwise you are left to your own devices when hunger strikes. At my weigh in I am the SAME, blah! I mean WTH? How is that possible? Yet, Iam down 4 more inches. Anyway, I guess I will have to change up my food a bit, and kick up my cardio. If your looking for really good tea, try "Yogi" brand, health food stores, shoppers drug mart, carry them here. Their "Cocoa Spice" tea rocks. With a wee bit of sweetener and some fat free powdered creamer.....yum! Take care everyone, Cheers!

See...they were asking me at my center what I was doing...cause they were saying that 16.4 pounds in 5 weeks is pretty amazing.

I told them that I simply vary my menu a lot. Meaning I eat carbs at different times of days. Like whatever I have for dinner, I have for lunch the next day. One less thing to plan

So if I have carbs for dinner, then I'll have carbs for lunch the next day and veggies for dinner.

Mon:
BK - carbs
Lunch - carbs
Dinner - Veggies

Tues:

BK- carbs
Lunch - veggies
Dinner - carbs

I never eat the same veggies every day (other than cucumbers). I vary between sweet potatos, carrots, spinach, mushrooms, corn, peppers, oignons. My meat, I try to eat all groups. Red meat - not at much...maybe 2-3x per week. Eggs - at least once or twice per week.
The rest of the time is chicken, turkey, pork.

Fruits, I vary too. I vary my fats too & my FE.

Anyhow, I might hit a plateau but everything is going so great!

Default Let me think about this one.. Michele R :)

Lee: I picked HM on my mother's advice after she told me that it was successful for a few of her co-workers. I've never been much of a dieter, I used to focus on controlling my portions. Ok don't get me wrong but are we not controlling our portions on HM?? Im not to sure what was meant here.... You were not much of a dieter meaning you ate what you wanted but watched portions sizes??? Because if that was the case the other way we would be doomed on Herbal magic at the end... we would slow our metabolisms as well.... HELP!!!! We don't want that you got me worried, all the hard work we are doing LOL!!!!

Default Ughhhh

Ok my monthly friend showed up, and that means... I am up 1 point something since Monday. I had an earache but it is better. Still am a little stuffed up but what is a girl to do. Sneaking in a few rice cakes here and there, they scrutinized my diary.. hawks eyes. I had such drops in weight I knew that this was going to happen. Drink, drink, drink my water. I go back in tomorrow to see how I did. I think I am going on my treadmill today!!! But I am down another 2.5 inches for a total of I think 7 inches in a couple of weeks. So for me those numbers are more important than the scale numbers as long as I have a consistent drop.... I am ok.

Planning for meals when you are on the run is tricky, but bring your eating out guide with you. Pack some cucumbers or cherry tomatoes in a cooler, and an apple or banana, something to tie you over until you get home. I use my HM bars they are my life saver on the go. I had a hair appointment and I brought an apple along with a meal replacement bar and I was good to go!!! Drink tons of water.... And realize you are only human!!!

ok think about how you ate before you started...now write down here what you gave up to loose the weight you have lost... now how good does your accomplishments feel???

Here is mine in the 2 weeks of HM I have not had:

Timmie's bagel or muffins
donut or peanut butter cookies.

Mc donald's fries, quarter pounder sundae

chocolate bar

Timmies coffee regular

ice cream, cookies

Yes those are yummy but when I look at the list no wonder I gained weight
.Good job girls we can do this!!!!

I think I can I think I can!!!!

Oh my... you need a......... Hang in there, what a rough journey for you.. but be strong. I'm not to sure how to approach this. Are they still bugging you at the center?? See what your WI brings and then you can go from there. Do your best to drink your water, choose the healthiest foods possible at all times, and that is all you can do right now. Try to plan your days food the night before??? And remember you only have one back and you need to take care of it for life... its important. Keep your chin up and come back to update us on how you are doing!!!

Yep, switched up my food today, and did 45 minutes on the treadmill instead of 30, so we'll see. Weigh in on Friday. Yippee, I'm so excited! (sarcasm)
