I made it 30 mins on the treadmill! I guess that is a Yay, but I wish I could have done a little more. will just have to keep at it, and get my strength back. Ran around to get accessories for my new cellie, then off to a minor league baseball game with DH and the kids...we had to leave early for two reasons. DD1 was being very whiny, and I seem to have picked up some of Annie's side effects! LOL Three trip to the bathroom at the ballpark, then still had to run into the house when we got home. :( I hope it gets better soon.
 to all you lovely ladies! Have a great wednesday! |
THIS IS A FAST POST. I STARTED BAGGING THE WASH LAST NIGHT AND GETTING A HEAD START TODAY BEFORE THE OFFICE OPENS. WEATHER IS A BALMY 60-SOMETHING. WINDOWS OPEN LAST NIGHT AND FAN ON. MY SINUSES ARE NOT A HAPPY CAMPER BUT IT FELT GOOD!
ANNIE...SAVE ME SOME DRUGS. I THINK I AM WORKING MYSELF UP TO THEM! NO JOKE INTENDED. STAY STRONG AND RIDE THE WAVE. I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT. I HAVE A METHOD NOW THAT I USE. THINGS CAN EITHER GO RIGHT OR WRONG. RIGHT AND EVERYONE IS HAPPY. WRONG AND I AM UNHAPPY. BUT I LIVE TO TELL THE TALE AND THE PAIN CAN ONLY LAST FOR SO LONG. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO LIVE FOR THE MOMENT AND LET THE CRAP GO.....ALONG WITH LOTS OF DEEP BREATHS :lol3: MICHELLE...GOOD EXERCISING!! I STARTED GETTING MORE REGULAR TOO. HERE'S TO US  SHAD....I GOT TIRED OF THE VIBRATOR...I'D RATHER STICK CEMENT IN THERE AND JUST GET IT OVER WITH! I REALLY MUST RUN AND I SEE THERE IS ANOTHER PAGE :faint: I'LL TRY AND GET THERE LATER ON. LOVE TO ALL. HAPPY WEDNESDAY! :moped: |
Good morning ladies,
I don't have much time to post today so no personals - sorry. We're having an ice cream social event today. I'm helping out as I am on the committee. My job is to keep the bowls with the toppings (crushed candy bits, sprinkles etc) filled so that will keep me far away from the ice cream tho I might indulge in one scoop of sherbet. DH called 3 pool companies to come and give us an estimate and surprisingly all 3 will come out this week. One nice lady showed up yesterday. She said it's very likely that the damage was caused by the excessive rains we had swelling the grounds up. Still need to replace the liner, still big bucks but not quite as horrid as either of us thought. They said it will take 4 weeks to order the liner so we wouldn't get the pool useable until August but I pretty much figured we would be out this season. At least it's nothing we did or didn't do to cause the problem... I'm tired today - sleepy when I go to bed but lately I'm having a hard time falling asleep - seems like it takes an hour to nod off. And I've been having a problem with I guess my back for a while. I usually sleep on my right side but have been finding that when I do that I must be aggrivating something because I wake up and my entire leg just hurts in a deep, terrible pain. I've been taking to falling asleep on my back (which is uncomfortable to me) and I guess I naturally flip over to my right, wake up in pain, flip back again and wake up in the morning on my back with pillows scattered all on the floor. Not getting a good rest at all. Yesterday I went to put my lunch in the refrigerator at work (I don't use it much) and it stunk like something died in there. I started looking at the collection of old stuff in there and there was soy milk that expired back in March, yougurts with dates of September that you know were from LAST YEAR. The corker was not one but several different bottles strewn throughout the fridge of juice and such with expiration dates of 2006!!!!!!!!! :yikes: I did find the source of the stink - a very, very furry salad wedged in the back of one of the shelves. Why are people such pigs? I know, I know... this is the result of kids whose parents did EVERYTHING for them. Then they send them out into the world and I have to work with them :rollpin:  Gotta run, bye for now. |
Happy Hump Day....
Michelle..You are so awesome...thank you for your very kind words. I am so proud of your accomplishments in eating healthy and exercising. Shad...sounds like your work environment is more enjoyable... Lets see...today....I am having lunch with some buddies from my previous job where I worked for 23 years. I am excited to see them. One is now living in Texas and have not seen him in a year. Tonight I am going to Champp's Rest & Bar with the girls for an adult beverage before heading home. My mental state is much better today. Dave has called me every day since visiting over the weekend. He is so kind and sweet. I need to give it a chance. He doesn't push me to do ANYTHING. He is a patient man. Everyone have a pleasant, sunshiny day. Love and Hugs. |
Happy Wednesday ladies -
Had a great time at the baseball game last night with DH, his cousin and her teenage daughter. The Brewers won 7-0, with 5 homeruns! I'm still on :cloud9: about my new pants size! Shad - You have been so busy working. I hope you're allowing yourself some fun time too. Good for you for removing TFG's name from the documentation. I can imagine how great that must feel! Can the cave at Durness house both Dick and George? I tell ya' these past 7.5 years have been fun with Dick and George - NOT! I am eager for them to be over. As for the gym, please don't take too many days off...you know how Happy gains when you don't workout! Ellen - 30 minutes on the treadmill is WONDERFUL! YGG! Take it slow and don't push yourself too hard. Your body is doing a lot of work as it is growing a person inside. I hope you're feeling better and not having any more mad dashes. Mel - I like your attitude - it puts things in perspective. As rough as life can be sometimes, I always find something to feel grateful for - now it is that we made it through the floods. Unfortunately so many in the state are still up to their knees or waists in water. Even though the rain has stopped, the rivers haven't receded much. I, too, try and live for the moment and deep breaths do help. Happy - Sorry to hear about your pool expenses, but at least the repair people can come out for estimates this week and the first estimate was less than you feared. Hopefully you'll have your pool up and running in August to enjoy some of the summer! So when should we plan the pool party at Happy's?? :swim: Have fun at your ice cream social and enjoy your sherbet. That's awful about your back and leg pain keeping you up at night! If it doesn't get better soon, I'd suggest seeing the doctor. Sleep deprivation is not healthy. I hope you feel better, and sleep better, soon. Our work refrig's never have that problem, as we have people who throw out EVERYTHING (salad dressings, juices, yogurts and tupperware containers) each FRIDAY, regardless of what's inside. If you don't want your stuff thrown out, you have to remove it on Friday. Makes for a better situation for all and there is no stinky stuff or biology experiments going on in the frig. Well, time to get productive. Here's to a great day for all of us! |
Annie - you were posting at the same time as me. I'm glad to hear your mental state is doing better. And it's so nice that Dave is patient and kind. What a sweetheart he is! Only you can determine what you're willing to confide to him and when, but he seems like a very understanding guy that would appreciate your honesty about what you're feeling and what apprehensions you may have. Take it slow, dear Annie. Stay within your comfort zone. No sense in adding to your stress and anxiety. And know that we've got your back, no matter what. Have a wonderful lunch with your former co-workers and enjoy your after work refreshments with the gals!
|
Hello ladies! I must have done too much yesterday, because I slept and fought off a headache this morning. Thankfully the kids were happy to watch cartoons, as they have been limited this summer. I am not planning much for the rest of today, just folding laundry, and getting dinner made. Oh, I have to pay bills at one point too, but will wait and do them with DH.
Have to get moving much love to all! |
Ellen - I hope you are feeling a little better. Good for you for listening to your body and resting. Take good care of yourself.
|
Morning all,
Just a quick note before I get ready for the gym. Yes Michelle, I do go 5 days a week at least. If I regularly go more, I end up like Ellen and feeling tired and jaded. At least she has an excuse. I am just getting old. Happy will need to go workout herself for those two days. :lol3: Mind you with you, me, Mel and Ellen now exercising, we should have all days covered for both Happy and Annie. Doncha think. Okay, I will be back for personals later and a run down on my boring working life. It's off to gym I go. |
Hi every one.
I'm through with classes. I now have the 24 hours needed for renewal, and my aunt had her thyroid surgery today. She is doing well. Will get to come home tomorrow. |
ANNIE...HAVE A FUN TIME WITH YOUR PALS. ADULT BEVERAGE
ELLEN...FEEL BETTER SOON. MICHELLE...WE WERE WATCHING THE NEWS AND EVERY DAY I THANK GOD I LIVE ON "HIGH" GROUND. WHEELS AND WATER DEFINITELY DON'T MIX :lol3: NICE EXERCISING! CEEJAY...GOOD NEWS AUNT FEELS OK. HOPE SHE RECOVERS QUICKLY. CONGRATS ON THE RENEWAL. HAPPY....HOPE THE ICE CREAM SOCIAL WENT WELL. SORRY THE POOL IS OUT OF COMMISSION FOR AWHILE. MY FRIEND'S LINER WENT LAST YEAR DUE TO EROSION OF THE SOIL UNDERNEATH FROM WATER DAMAGE ALSO. POOLS ARE NEVER EASY ARE THEY? HOPE THE COST WON'T BE TOO MUCH. SHAD...YA KNOW...MY FRIEND IS EVEN EXERCISING. MAYBE SHE COULD EXERCISE FOR ELLEN WHILE SHE'S "INDISPOSED: :bb:  EXERCISE BY PROXY...NOW THERE WOULD BE A GREAT THING. WISH I COULD GET SOMEONE TO DIET FOR ME AS WELL!! I AM JUST TOO SINUS-SLEEPY FOR WORDS. I REALLY SHOULD SHUT THE WINDOWS AND TURN ON THE A/C BUT IT FEELS GOOD TO HAVE THEM OPEN...SUCH A QUANDRY. I AM DRAGGING MY BUTT ON PUTTIN MY CHAIRS IN FOR SERVICING. I HATE TO BE WITHOUT ANY OF THEM...EXPECIALLY THE "GOOD" ONES...MY FAVORITES. I PROMISED MYSELF TO MAKE THE DREADED CALL BY MONDAY AND BE DONE WITH IT BUT LET THEM ONLY TAKE ONE AT A TIME. GOING TO PUTTER AROUND THE HOUSE AND GET SOME TIME OUTSIDE. OFF TO THE SHOWERS. HAPPY THURSDAY/FRIDAY :moped: |
Good Morning My Dear Friends.........
Last night with the girls was so much fun. I was home in bed by 10:00 pm. Not bad, this baby needs her beauty rest. Michelle....Baseball game sounds like a good time. I like baseball and girls fast pitch softball. DD played for about 10 years and loved going to her games. MEL...air conditioning is much better on your sinus/allergies/head issues. You might want to try it to get better rest. Ceej...glad your aunt is doing well after surgery. xoxo UPS...hope you are feeling better now. DD and I are going to St. Louis, MO for the weekend. My best friend's daughter got engaged so they are having an engagement party. It will be a blast as it is at t best friend's house with built in pool. We make margarita's and swim all day long. Hello to everyone. Love and Hugs |
Hello ladies -
Such a busy day ahead....but time for a quick check in. I went for a 4 mile walk at lunch yesterday and walked another 2.5 miles on the treddie at the gym. Tonight will be cardio and weights. Shad - Hope you had a good workout at the gym. 5 days a week is about my limit too. If I don't take a day or two break...I end up run down. But on my off days, I try and walk a little or play with the dogs or garden or something active. Happy - Are you still doing the BL Challenge? I don't see your exercise ticker. Shad, Ellen, Mel and I can't exercise for you ALL the time. Mel - I'm glad you live on high ground too. Keep the wheels dry, girlfriend! I hope you feel better. CeeJay - Congrats on finishing the class! I'm glad your aunt is recovering well from her surgery. Annie - I'm so glad you had a fun girls night out. Sounds like you'll have a wonderful time this weekend in St. Louis! Swimming and 'ritas by the pool, what a life! Enjoy! Love and hugs to all, |
Good morning ladies,
Quickie again for me. DH left this morning to go get the car (a 700 mile round trip he's planning on doing in one shot). I made him some music CDs last night so he'd have something to keep him awake. I didn't get to bed until after 1am and I got back up at 3am to see him off. I had a hard time falling asleep again but finally did and got up reluctantly at 7. Today is going to be a really groggy day and I am more than a little worried about him making that trip all by himself. Doesn't help that I don't fully trust that everything has been checked out in the car repairs either. I just hope deer mating season is over because once again he was on the open road at dawn. And work was really crappy yesterday. I am starting to feel like I'm invisible. Anyway ... Mel please don't wait too long on getting your chairs serviced. I know you fret when they are not near but you don't want to put off routine maintenance and have them out for an extended period  Have a good trip Annie - sounds like fun. Ceejay - glad your aunt pulled through ok. Enjoy what's left of the vacation. Shad - thank you again for taking care of me. I must admit the effect was short term. I am back battling the flab on my own again. But thanks for trying ;) Hi Ellen. Hello Michelle - I see you egg on which means you're posting above my head somewhere. I have to get to work so have a good one everybody. |
Michelle - as far as the TBL challenge goes - it sort of petered out across all the teams. This round for some reason doesn't have the zing it once did. I also got off track when my Mom came out and haven't gotten back into the swing of things yet. We're nothing if not continually trying, right?
|
Morning ladies!!! So I Am without a car today. DH woke up to a flat in his car, so Since I knew he had to get going I told him to just take mine. My sis is thankfully coming over so I can use her car to take DD1 to her dentist appt (we already resch once). Then if my brother comes with my sis I will walk him thru how to change the tire...so that Dh does not have to do it later.
If the tire getts changed then I will take the car up to get the tire fixed. If not I still have to fold all my laundry, as my headache came back and lasted all day. Busy, busy life!!!! Have to get ready to go...and still have to eat...Later ladies!!!! |
morning ladies,
Mel I'm with you on the sinus issue. However, mine has been due to being in extremely cold a/c rooms. It felt good getting outside. Happy I'm sure the dh will be okay. Call him every now and then to hear his voice. Michelle, Annie and Shad Hello  |

As Roseanne Rossannadanna said "Goes to show you, it's always sumpin' " :dunno: |
Morning all,
Time to get up and go again. I didn't make the gym yesterday and I won't today either, but I did make some big strides in the doco yesterday and another day today may just break the back of it and it will all be downhill from here. Just need another day like yesterday. I still have all the HR/PY stuff to do, but since they have taken so long to decide yes or no, I am not going to get excited about that. We will use what we can and bludgeon the rest out of Adelaide. It's not totally my problem anymore. Around 4pm yesterday, the brain went into meltdown and refused to play Finance games anymore, so I went out into the garden and attacked the weeds. The rose garden looks so much better now. I will try to do the same today and get rid of the worst of the weeds in what used to be the vege garden. I'm also going to try to get some housework done so I have some spare time over the weekend to gather my wits and get on with life and not work. Annie - good to hear you are calming down about your 'social' life. Things will work out as they should - it's in the Desiderata (The universe will unfold as it should) Drinks sound good. And enjoy the trip to St Louis. Is the fair on there (Meet me in St Louis, Louis, meet me at the fair) Now I will be singing that most of the day. Michelle - I try not to take too much time off gym. Can't have Happy all bloated and grungy, but sometimes you just have to sacrifice. I'll get back there tomorrow, but she is going to have to do it for me today. Ceejay - glad class is over for you. Now you can enjoy what is left of your holiday. I wish the aunt well. Mel - dieting by proxy is not on. Sorry, but if the rest of us have to suffer - why not you? Get those chairs done now before you call the wrath of the gods down on you and there is nothing for you to wander around in. It's Murphy's law you know. I have the windows and doors permanently open around here. It's been a bit cool this winter, but I hate being shut in. We are in for another foggy day but it is lifting so I will go hang the washing out (again) shortly. Didn't dry properly yesterday, so back it goes today. DS2 is keeping out of my way because I am making noises about moving the clothes line. The trees have grown up and it doesn't get the sun and air that it used to. Happy - Hope the DH gets there and back okay. What a bloody nuisance losing his phone. It's such a pain because you have to program back all the numbers and reset all the programs yet again. Not to mention the expense of a new phone. How inconvenient for him. He'll be tired when he gets in tonight. Sorry to hear that the TBL challenge has petered out. But I am not surprised. The marathon thingy seems to be having the same problem. It seems that a particular challenge works only once. Then you have to try something completely different. Don't know why but it just is. Right, time for the shower, breakfast, clear the decks and get moving on AP, AR and Project Accounting. Last three coming up! AR is done, just needs tweaking and approval. Should get through at least one more today. |
Good Morning Shaddie
http://marilee.us/images/line24.gif Desiderata Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. http://marilee.us/images/flower36.gif If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. http://marilee.us/images/flower36.gif Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let not this blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. http://marilee.us/images/flower36.gif Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. http://marilee.us/images/flower36.gif Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams; it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. http://marilee.us/images/flower36.gif Strive to be happy. --- Max Ehrmann, 1927 |
Now how did I know someone would come up with the complete thing. Not sure about the authentication of it. The poster I have comes from a church in England circa 1640. Bit earlier than 1927. I think Max may have translated it or something.
Thanks Mel. |
ANNIE...THE TRIP SOUNDS GREAT!! CAN WE ALL COME???? :swim: GOTTA LOVE THE COMBO!!
I TOOK YOUR ADVICE AFTER I WOKE UP AND TURNED ON THE A/C!! FEELING MUCH BETTER...JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU THAT FRESH AIR CAN BE DANGEROUS TO OUR HEALTH :rofl: MICHELLE....NOW THE 4 MILES WAS A WALK...SO IS THE 2.5 MILES JUST A LITTLE STROLL? :faint: WHEN YOU EXERCISE YOU MEAN BUSINESS! :cheer3: HAPPY...SOME TIMES I FEEL LIKE CHOPPED CHICKEN LIVER IN THE OFFICE. CEEJAY....I WAS SO COLD BEFORE, I TOOK A HOT SHOWER!! I THINK THIS WEATHER IS MIXING ME UP!!  NO WONDER IT FELT SO GOOD TO GET OUTSIDE...YOU NEEDED TO THAW OUT :flame: SHAD...SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE YOUR HANDS AND MIND FULL BETWEEN THE HOUSE, GARDEN AND WORK. NO WONDER YOU DIDN'T GET TO THE GYM. BY THE WAY...HOW DO YOU STILL LIKE THE KITCHEN!! IS IT ALL FILLED UP YET? IF I HIT THE LOTTERY...YOU CAN COME AND DECORATE MY HOUSE AND REFIT IT FOR ACCESSIBILITY...THIS WAY YOU CAN QUIT ALL THAT...AP, AR and Project Accounting AND LET US NOT FORGET THE HR/PY :faint: SOUNDS AWFUL!! :yikes: YOUR POST REMINDED ME THAT I NEVER FINISHED READING THAT PIECE OF PROSE I BEGAN SOOOO LONG AGO. WENT IN SEARCH OF IT AND THOUGHT I'D SHARE IT AS WELL. I EVEN BREOUGHT IT HERE ONE FLOWER AT A TIME! :lol3: :lol3: I THOUGHT I WOULD SAY SWEET DREAMS :cloud9:AND GOOD MORNING :cofdate: ALL IN ONE POST FOR TOMORROW. I AM GOING TO THE SUPERMARKET AND I MIGHT EVEN GET A RIDE TO A NEARBY STORE. NOT DEFINITE YET. I DID SOME SLEEPING AND SORTING. EVEN ORGANIZED THE BATHROOM AND CLEANED IT! LESS IS BETTER! SO HAVE A GREAT DAY TOMORROW AND GET READY FOR THE WEEKEND  |
Nope, the kitchen is not yet filled. Still some space there, but there are still a lot of boxes down in the shed.
I'll be over to give you a kitchen you can enjoy. Soon as I can afford it! You know I have THE most expensive tastes! |
eek. We've almost slid to page 2.
DH got home late in the afternoon safe and sound. Except that he forgot to take keys for both of the locks so he had to wait for me to come home and let him in. All is well. I'm happy. Had a good conversation with my manager yesterday. We are alot alike. It was a good sanity check. I'm running late today - didn't want to get up so personals will have to wait until tonight. Happy Friday all... |
A Fabulous Friday to my Fave Friends!
I am SO thrilled it's Friday and I'm in SUCH a great mood. Gotta love those endorphins! I did a weights class last night followed by 1/2 hour on the elliptical. It felt so good! In the weights class, another woman and I even told the instructor that we should do a couple more exercises. I'm probably going out to dinner tonight, so there may not be time for the gym. But hopefully I can get a walk in at lunch or this evening (weather permitting - we're supposed to have some rain today). Happy - I'm glad DH got back just fine. I hope you were able to get more rest than the previous night. And I hope that your work day goes better. That's good that you had a nice talk with your manager. As for the TBL challenge, I totally understand how you can get off track when your mom was visiting. I'm having difficulty sticking 100% to my eating plan with DMIL around. Ellen - Sounds like a hectic day for you yesterday. I hope you were able to get the tire fixed and all your errands run. CeeJay - I hope you have a great day today! Shad - Congrats on making such great progress in your work and in your garden! YGG! Happy should feel less bloated as I worked out hard enough for the both of us yesterday! Mel - Thanks for posting the Desiderata. As for my miles of walking...I consider them all good exercise, unless I'm just strolling around a craft fair or farmers market. But whether I walk at lunch or walk on the treddie at the gym...I glisten excessively (read: I work up a great sweat). I just LOVE how great it feels to work out. I still can't get over how addicted to exercise I have become. I'm glad that the A/C is helping your sinuses. Well, I've got lots to get done today so I'd better get a move on! Love and hugs, |
Happy Friday....car all packed, made it into work about 10. Nationwide Ins Adjuster came out to check out my roof that was damaged by the storms. Turns out I need half a roof. The front side. Oh brother, just fix it. $500.00 deductible. There goes the stimulus check. Open doors, close the window deal. Thank you Jesus for assisting me. Amen.
Anyway DD and I are taking off right from work to St. Louis. I can hardly wait and this day is moving slow. Everyone has a marvelous weekend and I will check in when I return from St. Louis. Love and Hugs |
afternoon ladies
Not much going on here. Everyone enjoy their week end. |
ANNIE THE SENTENCE ABOUT JESUS MADE ME LAUGH BUT I CAN REALLY APPRECIATE WHERE IT IS COMING FROM BECAUSE JUST TODAY I HAD A TALK WITH HIS FATHER AND THE DAY SEEMED TO GO MUCH BETTER!
HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT WEEKEND BY THE TIME YOU READ THIS  CEEJAY....SOS OVER HERE AS WELL BUT THE WEATHER IS GORGEOUS!! WILL YOU HANG A COPY OF YOUR RENEWED LICENSE AT WORK??? MICHELLE~ AS MUCH AS I AM NOT ADDICTED TO EXERCISE....I WILL SAY THAT WHEN I DO IT, I REALLY FEEL PUMPED. SO WHEN I READ YOUR POSTS, IT MOTIVATES ME TO GET MY OWN BUTT OFF HERE AND GO DO MY PEDALS. :ebike: HAPPY~ I AM VERY GLAD TO HERE HUBBY IS HOME SAFE AND SOUND!! THANKS GOD FOR SMALL FAVORS! GLAD TOO YOU AND BOSS HAD A CHIN WAG. GETS THE AIR CLEARED. I HAD A SMALL CHAT WITH MINE AND FELT MUCH BETTER. I EVEN TOLD HER ABOUT YOUR CARD. WE BOTH NEEDED A PRESCRIPTION FOR "HAPPY" TODAY! :yoga: I THINK I WILL TRY ONE OF MY MEDITATION OR CHAKRA CLEANSING DVDS THIS WEEKEND. HAVE TO FIND THEM AND DUST THEM OFF. THIS WAS ONE OF THOSE DAYS WHERE PEOPLE TRY TO BRING YOU DOWN EVERY TIME YOU TURN AROUND. YA KNOW THOSE TYPES? I AM SURE WE ALL DO. WELL I SAID SCREW THIS TO MYSELF, GOT ON THE BUS AND WENT FOOD SHOPPING. HAD A GOOD TIME, RAN INTO SOME "FRIENDS", KISS KISS, HUG HUG, FOUND SOME BARGAINS AND CAME HOME. THERE WAS OFFICE DRAMA BUT I KEPT DRIVING AND WENT OUTSIDE SAYING IF ANYONE WANTED TO TALK THEY COULD DO IT IN THE BACKYARD. ONE BY ONE THEY CAME OUT, I SHOWED THEM THE ERROR OF THEIR WAYS WASTING A GORGEOUS DAY LIKE TODAY. ONE BY ONE THEY WENT BACK IN HAPPY. SEE WHAT ONE PATIENT WOMAN CAN DO. MAGIC. THEN THE INJURED WOMAN OF LAST WEEK WAS TRYING TO FORCE A FIST FULL OF MONEY ON ME FOR CLEANING HER UP. I ABOUT HAD A STROKE TRYING TO TALK HER OUT OF IT. I FINALLY TOLD HER HOW CAN I GET INTO F*CKING HEAVEN IF YOU PAY ME FOR MY GOOD DEEDS?..... AND BEING THE GOOD CATHOLIC SHE IS...SHE FINALLY PUT THE MONEY BACK INTO HER PURSE. WE LAUGHED BUT I WENT AWAY SADDENED THAT THESE SENIORS THINK THEY NEED TO PAY SOMEONE FOR BEING A GOOD SAMARITAN. WHAT IS THIS FOOKING WORLD COMING TO? :tantrum: AND THIS HAPPENS TO ME ALL THE TIME. I COULD BE RICH AND HAVE MY BILLS PAID IF I TOOK ALL THAT WAS OFFERED. I APPRECIATE THE THOUGHT BUT MONEY???COME ON NOW. SIGH. THE DAY WAS GORGEOUS AND I DO MEAN GORGEOUS. I WAS OUTSIDE ALMOST ALL DAY SOAKING UP THE SUN AND BREEZES. KEEPING IN MIND LADIES THAT I AM SITTING HERE CRACKING MYSELF UP THAT I HOPE THIS COMES OUT RIGHT BUT....SOMETIMES I FEEL THAT WHEN I SIT IN THE YARD AND PEOPLE COME OUT TO ASK FAVORS, GET A JOB DONE OR AN ANSWER TO A PROBLEM...THAT MAYBE I SHOULD BE WEARING A BIG OL' GOLD RING WITH A HUGE STONE IN IT SO THEY CAN KISS IT!! I HAD ALL I COULD DO NOT TO LAUGH OUT LOUD TODAY CAUSE THE THOUGHT OF MARLON BRANDO AND AL PACINO KEPT GOING THRU MY HEAD. MAYBE THEY SHOULD BE MAKING A MOVIE CALLED THE GODMOTHER!    OK THAT WAS MY DAY AND IT WAS SUPERB. NO COMPLAINTS FROM ME. BALA IS COMING TOMORROW BUT NOT TILL 11:00 SO THAT MEANS A LATE NIGHT. BUT I AM READY FREDDY! HAVE A GREAT NIGHT! HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE!! GOOD MORNING SUINSHINE :sunny: |
Mel
(((hugs))) Isn't it nice to be outside. |
Hello Ladies,
Sorry I haven't posted lately. Things have been so hetic. My dog Blackie, is recoperating, but very slowly. Didn't realize how sensetive their GI tract was. I'm having to feed him small meals, otherwise he gobbles it up and gets sick. Work is hetic as usual too.. moving offices from the 19th floor to a lower one... As for me.. started back on my exercise program. Its so easy to say i'm stressed maybe tomorrow, but i have stuck to it. Tomorrow i'm actually starting a bootcamp program for (7) days. The food part of course will be the killer for me. I'm hoping this bootcamp will get my $ss in gear and I will continue to eat right after. I'll come back tomorrow and post more personals... |
1day
Glad to hear Blackie is doing better. Letting you all know I am alive lol. I have been in bed most of the day. Thank heavens I have gotten the downstairs done lol. We were laying flooring and I flipped a piece of wood over my shoulder, like I have done 1,000 times and pulled my darn back. Came down to get a drink and thought I would let you all know I am breathing, not to fast but at least breathing lol. |
CEEJAY... RIGHT BACK AT YA!!
PATTY..GGOD NEWS ABOUT THE DOG AND THE BOOTCAMP! GOOD LUCK WITH BOTH. RENNIE..HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON. IT'S A SHAME TO BE MISSING ALL THIS BEAUTIFUL WEATHER. :cofdate: i WOKE BEFORE 6 AND COULDN'T GO BACK TO SLEEP. BEEN FUTZING AROUND THE HOUSE QUIETLY PUTTING STUFF AWAY. GOING TO MAKE SOME "MEDITERRANEAN" CHICKEN. IT CALLS FOR TURKEY BREASTS BUT I AM USING CHICKEN. NOTHING IS NEW SINCE LAST NIGHT  EXCEPT...SHADDIE...WHERE ARE YOU? :look: HAPPY SATURDAY/SUNDAY :moped: |
THIS WAS GOOD WITH THE CHICKEN BREASTS. I USED TO USE CHICKEN PARTS WITH THE SKIN ON AND PUT IT ALL IN A ROASTING PAN. BUT THIS WAS MUCH LESS FATTY! YUM!!

This looks yummy. I'll try it very soon. Reenie Feel better soon. I've been having some back issues myself. Patty Good news about Blackie. Ugh weight this morning is 190. It's mostly fluid retention so I've relented and took a fluid pill. Getting ready to go to Paragould for the rest of the week end. Two more days of solidtude then back to the grind at work. I'm finishing up the laundry. |
Good morning chicks,
It's a fine sunny one out there. DH made it home safe and sound, minus his cell phone - he thinks he may have accidentally dropped it in the trash can. There were 2 women sitting in the area when he came out to look for it. He said they distintly avoided eye contact to the point it was odd. So he thinks they might have gone looking in the trash can for aluminum cans and instead found the phone. Service was promptly cancelled so it's of no good to anyone. I probably should check on E-bay - might find it there  We got pricing on replacing the pool liner, one company is almost $2,000 more for the same thing. We want to find out why and then will make our decision to move forward. Pool is definitely green and yucky - was surprised how fast it turned once it was uncovered. We were told not to drain it - guess it will distort the underlining or something. :dunno: Was not happy with the eyeglasses I got from one of the big name stores - 3 attempts and couldn't get them right. Decided to try Costco (one of those discount warehouse type places). According to several surveys, they most often made the glasses correctly. I was shocked to find that I got regular glasses, sunglasses and paid for the membership fee - all for less than what it was costing me for 1 pair of glasses at the other place. Wow. Now granted, they don't have the most fashionable of frames, but I don't want fashionable - the thick rectangular frames in style right now don't work well with my prescription. And I didn't have to settle for goober glasses either. Something is going on at the Humane Society - I daresay some people issues. DH said we should back off but I said in the end, it's the poor animals that suffer. We need to just go in, avoid the people and take care of the kitties. And speaking of kitties, ours is rather annoyed with us at the moment. DH took her to the vet yesterday. She got several shots  got poked in the butt :yikes: and they took some blood for testing :headache: They said she probably has allergies and they gave her a shot. Although she hates us she did stop licking and scratching herself constantly. She's going to really hate us when she goes back next week for a teeth cleaning. :rollpin: Mel - I'd nix the olives but that dish looks very good. Might be on my menu this week. Thanks. Regarding the lady who tried to hand you money - I can only say from my perspective that I do appreciate someone who will take care of - say my Mom when I am far away and can't do it myself. You want to express your appreciation because people can be so mean in this world but you don't want to offend. Loved your answer to her tho. I will join you in the "cleanse" this weekend. I need to peel off some mucky internal layers myself. :D Your posting of Desiderata came at just the right time - you and Shad must be looking after me  Shy - ouch on the injury. Rest up. No playing lumberjack! Good luck on the bootcamp Patty - I admire people who do those. Don't stress on the move as chaotic as it can be. Look at it as a chance to clean your desk area, that it unless YOU are the one coordinating the move. Have a good time in St. Louis, Louis. Oh I mean Annie  Safe travels and have fun! I dunno Michelle - your energy is bouncing off the wall - gonna have to try me some of that magic endorphin exercise stuff  I hope you have a good weekend with the hubby and DMIL if she's still visiting with you. Shaddie - get your head outta those finance applications and get back in the world with us - tug, tug on the rope  Hope everything is ok with you. Hello Ceejay - you working this weekend or just out playing? Ellen, the treadmill queen  Hello missing Canadian friends - are you out enjoying the nice weather or did you leave us because we smell or something? Time for me to get moving. So many things to do, not enough time. I have to plan my weekends better. Would like to enjoy some summer and not spend them working on chores. Of course a good START would probably be to get up earlier. I did get up at 7 today to go potty and let the cat out but I was tired and went back to sleep. I'll be better tomorrow. See yah... |
Happy

I'm here Mel - do not get excited or worried or anything. Just busy. I spent most of yesterday cleaning up the house and did the monthly shop and much of today will be spent cleaning up the garden. I am determined to achieve something this weekend since I was denied my trip to Adelaide and also couldn't find a reasonably priced ticket to go to NZ and attend Chris' (from Japan) 60th birthday party. I would have loved to have gone. So I sulked instead and watched the footy on TV and yelled support and curses in the appropriate order. We won. I mean the All Blacks won, but that's us I think and I'm sure my wearing the Silver Fern and singing the National Anthem did the trick. Nobody would want to lose after hearing that in case they got another rendition.
I went to the gym to the body balance class yesterday but for some reason we didn't have a trainer!! Well fancy that. They have only known for 2 months that M was going back to Sydney to Uni and would be finishing, and L is a stand in trainer and can only work occasionally and on long notice. She has a family and another full time job as well. So the death knell has truly sounded on this one. The receptionist was very apologetic and we all signed a paper so that the club manager could ring us and give us the 'facts' - a whinge list - well obviously he is worried about talking to 10 angry women and one man, so of course he didn't bother yesterday. I doubt that he will today either. Maybe it is better if he doesn't - for his sake anyway. And that is about it from me. I am going to the gym now to do weights and stuff and will be back later to comment. This cat is going to be the death of me. She's on a hunger strike. What she used to used last week is no longer good enough. She wants cheesecake flavoured yoghurt 97%ff and chocolate icecream - also 97%ff and she doesn't want the super duper, every necessary vitamin and mineral, crunchy biscuits the vet insists she eat (expensively), she wants rice crackers with cheese. Wait a minute forget the rice crackers, just make it cheese and if you have Camembert or Brie (preferably from Tasmania) then that will do nicely. Oh is that fish chowder you have? well I'm for that - just hold the onions and no garlic thanks. Maybe I'll just cook an extra plateful for dinner and let her have that. Jeez does she never shut up??? Gym that's the place for me, she still hates the car. |
No chocolate for Sunday, thank you
Shad,
Just because certain foods, such as chocolate, are enjoyed by us humans and are perfectly safe for us, it does not mean they are suitable for cats. Chocolate contains chemicals which rarely cause problems for humans, but for cats and other domestic pets, these chemicals can, in rare cases, be deadly. One problem is that cats in general find chocolate very tasty and so, it is important not to feed it to them, otherwise they will eat what you give them up to the point where it poisons them. Chocolate contains the compound theobromine which is a diuretic as well as a cardiac stimulant. This can cause the pet's heart rate to increase or it may cause the heart to beat irregularly, both of which can be dangerous to the animal. The level of theobromine present in chocolate varies depending on the type of chocolate. For example, dark chocolate contains higher levels than milk chocolate and so could pose a greater risk to your pet. There are many problems that can result from feeding a cat chocolate. Chocolate is relatively high in calories so it can contribute to the development of obesity in your cat. A cat can lose its appetite for it's normal food if it eats chocolate. The largest problem is though the fact that chocolate contains the chemical theobromine as mentioned above. If this chemical builds up in the cats system, it can be potentially lethal, and one reason for this is that cats cannot clear theobromine from their bodies as quickly as people can. Of course, I should not be one to give counsel as we have been known to give our cat a dab of butter. Vet said it will clog her arteries. DH's snappy comment was that she doesn't live all that many years, so she might as well enjoy a thing or two. Where's that logic as our last cat was with us 22 years :dunno: I'm sorry that you missed Chris' party Shad - I know how much would have meant for you to be there :( |
Didn't say I had given it to her, just that that is what she wants. *sigh* She did have a small lick from my finger, but that's about it. No matter how much more yowling she did. Dairy products are supposedly not good for her either but she loves the little she gets. She must be getting extremely hungry shortly because she isn't getting much food right now. There's people out there who wouldn't turn their noses up at the food she gets. How many cats do you know that get a tin of pink salmon plus oil at least once a month. How many cats eat premium kangaroo mince? She is just trying to win another battle. As DS2 says, she is extremely demanding.
