Miracle of miracles!!! I'm actually DOWN a lb this morning. How does that happen? Yesterday, even though I felt like I was overeating, I had a pretty good point day. The popcorn really helped. That's what made me feel like I was overeating. I ate yesterday even when I wasn't hungry. I guess that made me feel like I overate too. I ate low point foods, though. I guess that's the difference. We eat a lot of Subway sandwiches. That's what we ate last night. Did you know you can have a foot long ham Subway sandwich for 10 points?? That rocks! It seems like a lot of food and it totally fills me up...all the way!
Sounds like there's a lot of positive stuff going on with everyone now. Everyone seems so motivated. It helps me soooo much to come here throughout the week in between weigh ins. Keeps me motivated and encouraged. Again, thanks guys!
Well, I'm off. Wish me well as I go to bake cookies for my children's grandparents for Valentine's Day. I WILL NOT CAVE!!!!! I WILL NOT EAT COOKIES! There are only twelve of them, so if I eat any, grandparents won't get any! I'm also going today to buy NEW JEANS! Mine are too big! YAY!!!
Have a great day, everyone! Say a prayer for my weigh in today that it'll actually show the same 1 lb loss that my scales show! hehe
Byeeeeeee!!
Diana

Hi Chickies . . . . . . It's pretty quiet around here, today -- well, it is if you don't count the hissing and growling. :D

As some of you may remember, I had to have my little orange cat, Goldi, put down at the end of November. Finally decided today it was time to bring the cat-count back up to three. The new one -- named Purrecious is a 'dilute' calico (grey, white, honey-beige; rather than the black, white, rust colouring of the original calico); female (obviously - if you ever come across a male calico, grab it, you could be rich ;) ; and about 9 months old. A real little sweety who just could not stop purring until I got her home :o So far she and Jazz (the black, easy-going one) are definitely NOT hitting it off. Poor little girl, she hasn't even met Mouse (the not so easy-going one) yet. He's hiding in the closet, hoping it's all a bad dream that he's got another roommate. He's the type that would like to be an 'only' cat. :) I'm sure they'll all work it out in due course, but so far Purrecious is not too sure she's going to like it here. Just wait until next week, girl, when you go to the vet for your little nip/tuck operation. ;)

Other than that, not much going on -- I've been staying pretty good with the eating and the water guzzling.

RHIANNON . . . . . . Well fish is about the best (lowest calorie, healthiest fat) type of protein you can get; but chicken and turkey (without the skin, of course) is pretty good too. If you like beans, they are wonderful, especially in soup, which is so filling anyway. You also might try some of the low-fat cheeses . . . personally, I don't like them, but that's just me. One thing I do eat quite a bit is an egg-white omlette with lots of veggies thrown in. Good luck on finding some things you like. :)

LIZA . . . . . . Good girl for getting back on track. Just hang in there, kid . . . the body has it's own timetable about these things. I know how you feel, though; I seem to have been looking at this same number for sooooooo long. But I know it will eventually move if I just keep the faith as much as I can.

TAMMY . . . . . . Nothing on the cause of the explosion yet, but nobody was hurt. I drove past there a couple of times today . . . it's amazing how little there is left. Funniest thing . . . there was a little out-building (housed an emergency generator or something) tucked in behind, and a few feet away from, the main structure and it is still standing and doesn't even look to be scorched. :dizzy: Weird.

DIANA . . . . . . That is great news. Now . . . stay away from those cookies . . . you can do it. Actually I came across a recipe for a flourless oatmeal cookie the other day. I'm going to try them. If they turn out like anything edible, I'll post the recipe . . . it sounds yucky, but the Chick who posted the recipe says it is amazingly good. I like the new picture.

Well, I'd better go check out the source of the noises coming from down stairs. Hope you all have a great moving and shaking evening. See you soon. :carrot:

Somebody has to remind me not to talk to my friends/family about this diet thing!! All I get are opinions on what I should be eating, or how they did it, or "oh, you don't actually burn any calories in only 5 minutes of exercise" which, besides being an infuriating thing to say, is also an impossibility! God forbid that anyone other than my aunt is simply supportive without offering ten trillion pieces of unsolicited advice!!! I think I'm just going to keep this whole thing private, the way my aforementioned aunt did (she lost 100+ lbs and has kept them off for 4 years!!!). It seems to me like its my business what I choose to do and I'm fed up with unsolicited advice.

RRVMMM 02-14-2007 09:20 AM

Well girls another quick fly by for me. Scales are still sitting at 220 but I indulged last night and had a brownie. MMM it was good but not worth the calories. Other than that I have been on track and exercising. Hope to see a drop soon.

Linda sounds like you have a very special new kitty. We plan on getting a new one soon. We have been without for about a year now and I think its time.

Well better get a move on. Check back soon.

GainingWeightInLa 02-14-2007 09:50 AM

Rhiannon, isn't it GREAT to have a place to come to vent??? :) If what you're doing works for you, then you're right, it's nobody else's business!! You're trying to be healthier and that's a good thing! I think you're wise to listen to your aunt who knows firsthand.....Let what everyone else says go "in your ear and out your rear" (as my parents used to put it). Kinda gross, huh?? lololol :)

Well everyone, weigh in was last night. I'm down 1.6. Considering my weekend, I'm happy with that. Yesterday was okay, pointwise, I believe. Today's not off to a great start, though. I woke up with a migraine....usually I have to eat to make it go away. So far, I've had 4 points. And it's not even 9 am!! But I think headache's getting better. I've lost a total of 13 and some tenths, but can't remember how many. Last night was 6 weeks I've been at it. Not too bad, huh? And yesterday as I baked cookies, I wasn't even tempted to eat one...although I did lick some chocolate off my finger.....Happy Valentine's Day to me! lololol
Well, I think I'm off to steam some vegetables for later. I can snack on broccoli all day...no points! :) Good luck today everyone!! And Happy Valentines Day!!

meowee 02-14-2007 05:22 PM

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, everybody . . . :val1: The FFM gave me a little pressie this morning by letting me finally move my ticker. :D Not a lot, mind you, but I'm always thankful for every little bit.

Not too much improvement on the cat front . . . Mouse is living in denial (maybe if I ignore her she will go away) . . . Jazz just keeps giving her dirty looks (don't you dare touch my stuff) . . . Purrecious is still doing a lot of growling and hissing as she trys to stake out a little piece of territory to call her own in a house that smells totally of 'them'. :dizzy: At least she has decided I'm OK, again. :)

RHIANNON . . . . . . Just try to ignore them. When they notice that you've been losing, just give them a little Thank You and smile. If they ask what you are doing, just tell them that you are eating less and moving more and then change the subject. We all have people like that around us and, unfortunately, there always seems to be ten of 'that' kind for every one that actually understands. Hey, that's why we've got 3FC. We understand each other. :yay:

ROBBIN . . . . . . Good attitude. Keep on doing the good stuff and it will pay off. If it was easy, it wouldn't be so very worth it. Hey, I know we all wish it could be a little easier and a little faster -- make that a lot easier and a lot faster. :dizzy:

DIANA . . . . . . Good going, girl; you are doing really well. That much chocolate is healthy . . . at least it is so long as it doesn't lead you into more and more and more. ;) Broccoli is good. :D Too bad it doesn't come in chocolate flavour. :(

Well gang, nothing too much else is new. We are being threatened with a really nasty pile of weather. Snow followed by freezing rain followed by more snow followed by regular rain. so far, the temp is getting warmer, but nothing has started to fall from the sky, yet . . . hope the forecast is wrong. :)

You all keep things moving and shaking this evening, ladies. I'll see you soon.:carrot:

Cheryl120 02-14-2007 09:44 PM

Hi everyone...Sorry I have been MIA, but I got my socks knocked off for the second time with the flu. I've been sick almost a week and today is the first day I don't have chills or a temp. I did go to weight watchers today and I loss 4.9 lbs, soooooo I'm very excited about that.

I'll try to catch up with personals tomorrow.

Cheryl

RRVMMM 02-15-2007 10:32 AM

Scales are still holding steady at 220 but you know you really can't expect them to move when I don't stay on track. I fell off yesterday, pretty hard. Pizza for lunch and hamburgers for dinner.

I am back today though with turkey sausage and dry toast for breakfast and grilled fish and broccoli for lunch. Not sure about dinner tonight though. Our water pipes have busted and we will spend most of our evening under the house trying to fix it. YUCK cold and wet. Temp is 15 here today so we will be freezing our buns off tonight.

Cheryl sorry to hear you have been sick but yay on the loss.

Dianne Congrats on your loss for the week, you are doing great.

Linda I am sure those cats will find a way to live with each other it's just gonna take a bit of time.

Well ladies gotta get to work. Check back later.

Hi gang . . .

Well . . . we did not get the snow we were promised, but we definitely got the ice. Today is relatively mild but it's also dull and not warm enough to start melting the ice and the wind is absolutely wild. Definitely happy I don't have to go anywhere today. :)

CHERYL . . . . . . Wow, glad to hear you are finally feeling better and hope it stays that way, too. The weight-loss is great but not when you have to suffer the flu to get it. ;)

ROBBIN . . . . . . Yep that is definitely one of the unfortunate facts of life. :dizzy: I feel that way about the various exercise videos I own . . . somehow they don't work too well if you don't put them in the machine and actually use them. :o

Jazz and Purrescious seem to have decided on a semi-peace treaty. Mouse now lives under my bed and uses the bathtub as his littler box so he doesn't have to come down stairs and risk the chance of actually 'seeing her'. (Hey, he could have picked a lot of worse places). I figure hunger will force him out eventually because I refuse to take food up to him and in the meantime he can stand to lose a pound. :( It's strange that he is so traumatized because he's more than twice her size and he's always been a bit of a bully -- but, I guess, like all bullies; he's really a coward at heart. ;)

Anyway, Chickies . . . you keep things moving and shaking today (it'll help us to stay warm) and I'll see you again later. :carrot:

Oh . . . here are a couple of pictures of Purrecious in the basket she has adopted as her bed.

Cheryl120 02-15-2007 03:40 PM

Hi Gang...Hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day. My Hubby gave me a box of surgar free turtles..(candy)...Just what I didn't need, but I'm treating myself to one piece a day. I'm down another 2 pounds this morning, so I moved the ticker. :woohoo: Terrible way to do it, but I'll do about anything to move the scales in the downward direction.

Robbin...So sorry you have frozen/broken pipes to deal with.:( 15 degrees sound darn right balmy to me!! We are suppose to make it to 8 today, after being -25 for a low.

Linda...Cute pictures of your cat. She's very pretty by the way.

Have a good day.

Cheryl :luck2you:

RRVMMM 02-16-2007 09:17 AM

OK gave in to my craving yesterday and had hot dogs for dinner last night. Oscar Mayer 98% fat free franks and hormell turkey chili. Just 1 did not fix the craving and ended up having 3. Scales are up 2 pounds today??? even with 3 dogs it should not have went up that much because I stayed within my number range. But heck when I looked at the sodium in the dogs and chili I could have eat a whole cup of salt and got the same results each chili dog ended up being like 810g of sodium each.

UGH will I ever get past this plateau?

meowee 02-16-2007 05:05 PM

Happy Friday, gang . . . boy it is very quiet in here . . . come out at play, everybody. :D

The sun came out again . . . and it was mild enough overnight to melt a lot of the nasty ice. Temperatures are dropping again this afternoon and the wind is really fierce. I had to do a little shopping earlier today and thought I'd freeze getting the stuff into the car becaue of the wind-chill. :(

ROBBIN . . . . . . Right you are, the salt will do you in everytime. Just be glad you avoided the high calories; once the salt is gone again, it will be worth it. Dring copious amounts of water.

CHERYL . . . . . . Yippee on the scale movement and on the rationing of the candy. Keep up the good stuff, girl.

Okay . . . just to bore you a bit more, here's the latest on the cat-front. I've now barred all cats from the rooms on the upper floor so Mouse has to join us in the other parts of the house. At least I know he is eating, although he is definitely not happy. He and Purrecious are just giving each other a very wide berth. She and Jazz are almost, but not quite, friendly. I imagine all will be well in another few days. :^:

Well gang . . . hope you all have a moving and shaking evening. Keep doing the good stuff and I'll see you all soon. :carrot:

GainingWeightInLa 02-16-2007 05:23 PM

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been gone for a day. Yesterday was wild....last night was wilder....not to give too much details, but I awoke to "pizza chunks" being spewed all over my bed at 11:15 pm last night.....thanks to my dear, darling, precious 8 yr old son that I truly love so very much! :) He's got the tummy virus that the lovely parent of the little girl who sits next to my son sent her daughter to school with yesterday! Thanks Kerry's Mom! Couldn't have gotten the stomach virus without ya! Sure 'preciate it! :( :( :( I'm not being too nice about it, am I??? I was seriously irriated. Another boy's mom sent him to school with it, too. What's wrong with these parents? Do they think their children must share EVERYTHING??

ANYWAY!!! Robbin, if it makes you feel any better, I'm strugglin' right now too. I want to keep losing weight, but I also wanna EAT, EAT, EAT! Good stuff, too.....like fast food fried chicken. I think I could eat 10 lbs of it by myself. :( Somehow (not sure how) I'm still sticking with it. I just need to keep myself away from that poison.....something you might try (it works for me). I fix just enough for supper that I know everyone will eat. When it's gone, we don't eat anymore. When we have hot dogs, I fix enough for me to have 2, hubby gets 2 or 3 (whatever he tells me), and kids each get one. That's all I fix. That way there's no choice to eat more. Do the same thing with hamburgers. Don't know how your grocery budget is, but we've discovered that shrimp is a good meal that's not bad for you. We can have shrimp, corn on the cob, maybe another vegetable (salad, or something), maybe some garlic bread. It's an excellent meal and it's good for you! I can eat a fair amount of shrimp plus all that I fix with it and wake up the next morning lighter. :) We also do a lot of Subway sandwiches. Had one for supper last night, matter of fact.

Don't get discouraged. Think of how good you'll feel Sunday if you do really well with eating tomorrow. I let that be my motivation. However, what motivates me may not motivate everyone. :( Just don't give up. YOU CAN DO IT! I believe you can! You know you can. Just do it! :) (If only it was soooo easy, huh??)

Well everyone, I'm off. It's almost time to go home from work. Have a great weekend....hope to see "less" of everyone next week! :)

Diana

RhiannonC 02-16-2007 06:31 PM

Hey guys!!! Thanks so much for all your support! I don't know how I would do it without you :cheer:

I'm starting everything again today, work was crazy and then with Valentines day I just ate a bit too much, and just finished the leftovers this afternoon. However, I'm not really upset, and I figure I'm officially back on the wagon today. I had to take a stress day from work today but I'm back on shift tomorrow, and I'm starting to feel a lot calmer. I had worked 7 days in a row, and I don't have another day off until weds.

When I moved my cat into the house with my sister's two cats I kept my Honey in my bedroom for a week before letting them meet each other. They still don't always get along, but it really helped to let them gradually get used to the idea. I'll put a pic of my cat up soon, I'm just too lazy to deal with it today.

meowee 02-18-2007 06:16 PM

Oh My Goodness Gracious . . . talk about a quiet weekend . . . nobody has been around for two days now . . . come out, come out wherever you are.

Well, girls, wherever you are and whatever you're doing, I really hope it is fun.

Hope to see you tomorrow. :carrot:
